He looked delighted when she agreed, he nodded and waited for her to get her food-though he figured she would have brought her food but since she got stuff from the vending machine he figured she didn't. Shaking the thoughts from his head as she came back and asked about his usual spot he smiled," I don't sit in here either-I sit on the roof-No one is ever up there- besides the occasional teacher fora smoke- its empty and no one talks there unless you talk with your company." he said with a small smile- then patting her shoulder he showed her the door that lead up the stairs to the roof access. Holding the door open for her they went out onto the roof-it was a nice day, partly cloudy but it was warm but not suffocatingly warm like the usual. shading his eyes from the sudden brightness he headed over to the ball and slid down the wall to a seated position then took off his bag and settled in, as he usually did. He looked up and waited for Adrian to join him.

"I didn't know students were allowed on the roof" she commented and followed him to the door and up the stairs. She had accounted for how bright it would be and ran into Joan again "Oh i am so sorry. I'm such a klutz today. I don't know what's wrong with me" She apologized and rubbed her eyes. They had finally adjusted and she as able to see for a few miles and she had never noticed how beautiful a town she lived in. "I didn't realized how gorgeous this place was. I'm usually just stuck down in the basement at home" she mention and then caught herself. She hoped that he wouldn't think anything of it cause she didn't really want to explain what she meant by that comment.

At the basement comment-he got a concerned look on his face-and opened his mouth to ask-but thought better of it and answered simply with a sympathetic smile," Yes it is beautiful up here- one can see you miles-all the way out into the country, in the morning its even better- you can see the sun rising if you come early enough. And as for running to to me-I don't mind-as long as its not shoving me down say the stairs-then its all cool." He said as a joke as he opened his lunch box and offered her the other half to his sandwich. "Its peanut butter and grape jelly-if you want this half-I'm happy to share." Joan smiled at her as she sat down. He was hoping that she would open up and talk about her abuser but if she didn't wanna he wasn't going to push her- but he did want to keep her company ans seeing as she was antisocial she might be on the edge of something-a personal cliff-as he liked to think about it-so he thought if he gave her something to look forward too shes stick around and try to smile, since she had a pretty one...it reminded him of his mother's smile, he liked to see it.

She sat down with him and opened her chips but before biting into one he offered his sandwich to her. 'That's so nice' she thought to herself but couldn't bring herself to take part of his lunch from him "I'm ok. But thank you for offering" she told him and bit into a chip. She stared out at the landscape enjoying it while she could cause when she got home it would be mound of chores fixing dinner and then going down to the basement and being quiet. She finally tore her eyes from the beautiful scene and looked at Joan "Some how I feel as though I have met you before" she commented and ate another chip "But I can't place from where...or am I wrong" she set her chips down and opened her drink.

Shehad been studying her-over his food and was trying to be very inconspicuous. When she looked at him, he looked away suddenly like he wasn't looking hoping he hadn't been caught gazing at her. "yes we have been class mates since elementary school-in middle school you were too popular to know me but yeah..." 'and did i mention I was one of you biggest fans in your fan club?' he said to himself as if he would ever say it to her face. He smiled, then it faded as the next order of events unfolded in his head, his parent's deaths then the institution, he shuddered," Then I went..away for a while...so I don't think you would have remembered me-but its good to see that you have." he said as he tried to cover the slight fearful gleam in his eyes with a smile, hoping she hadn't seen that, or him shuddering. "Any how-did you do the math homework? I don't get it." He said with a small laugh, taking another bite of his sandwich, chewing then taking a drink of his cola.

"oh" she said eating some more, some how she felt she hit a sore subject and just let it go. "Um...math, yea. I finished it. It's not really hard though. But most of my homework isn't the same as your guys" she said taking a sip of her drink "I do some college work too at the same time cause most of the homework here is too easy" she said and looked away from him. She felt like she was staring at him too much at with her experience staring at someone too long she would receive a slap to the face and a twenty minute lecture.
"Would Adrian Marks please report to the office" a very tired voice sounded over the schools intercom. Her ears perked up and her stomach dropped. Being called to the office for her only meant one thing. She jumped to her feet and looked over the side of the building. Her fathers black truck was parked out front. That was bad, he rarely picked her up from school early. "I'm sorry but I have to go" she stressed to him and snatched up her books quickly and rushed to the stairs leaving her food there.
Adrian ran to the office as fast as she could and saw her father standing there very ridged. Her father turned to her with a scowl and she quickly looked down. Her father signed her out and she followed him to his truck. He opened the door and just shoved her into the passenger seat and slammed the door shut. Once he was in his seat they took off. She wondered what had happened and what tonight's events were going to be like but she didn't dare ask him.

(* T.T i feel so bad for her T.T*)
At her absurd abruptness, he had gotten up to follow her but thought better of it- seeing the slight fear in her face. But he did look over the edge and saw a black truck out front-which hadn't been there, he looked at it and took a drink of his cola, watching the truck and eventually he though the owner would go to it. After a few minutes he saw Adrien get steered out of the school and tot eh truck, then thrown in, she looked stoic but her posture was submissive-almost scared, this made him want to help her some how-but by the look of the man-he finally saw his face-when he had slammed the door on her and turned to get in himself was her father. Much to his surprise. He never thought her father was that rough with her. "I do hope shes okay..." He said more to himself, he liked to say things he wanted to believe out loud. Finishing up lunch he took hers and disposed of it-since she wasn't going to be back for it. He still had some time to spare so he headed to class to wait. With in the passing period, he heard two girls gossiping about Adrien behind him.
"..Oh My God! You should have seen her-she looked so lame running down the hall-and being called to the office-so old-she is such a bad influence to the other girls here.." The girl next to her was nodding in agreement, the said," OH! Did you know she was spending her lunch with that crazy kid?! I saw them talking in science and I saw them sneak off at lunch..." The girl said with a smug look at bringing new dish to the table. Joan turned around and looked blatantly at the girl with a scowl," excuse me, but you were talking about me and my friend ?" He said with a nasty tone- the two girls' squeaked in surprise at the hostility ans ran outta the room. Punching the desk, he got a bloody knuckle, when the whole class was there as well as the teacher- he asked to leave to the nurse-he was able to because of his knuckle. He hated being called 'crazy'...he didn't think he was crazy, because he wasn't....he hoped. After the nurse he returned to class and fumed and gave vicious glares at the girls till the end of the day- then as soon as the bell rang he was on his bike and home. He was looking forward to school tomorrow to see what happened to Adrien that was about it-he did hope she was okay.

They stopped at a couple of place before she was taken home. Her father unlocked her door so she could get out but once out she didn't budge, the area of the garage no doubt always gave her chills. She had spent many nights alone and cold in the garage as an early punishment. Her father got out of the truck and walked to her side. He walked up to the door and opened it then he yanked her inside. She stumbled to get her balance but by then he was already dragging her further into the house. When she was through the door he pushed her and she stumbled to the ground. He closed the door "You know what…I don't even want to hear your pathetic lies" she wanted so badly to yell back at him but she had lost her voice long ago. He leaned over and stood her on her feet by grabbing her hair.
He pushed her to the stairs that led down to the basement and stopped. She stood there a moment confused by him just standing there. "I don't want to hear you for the rest of the night" he hissed at her. She looked down at the stairs counting the steps. She then took a step towards the stairs and her feet come up from underneath her. She lay on her back gasping for air "Did I say you could move?" He screamed at her though he wasn't really looking for answer. In one quick motion he picked her up and tossed her down the stairs. Her body tumbled like a rag doll; her body finally came to a stop when it met the door into the basement.
Adrian thought that she heard a crack of some sort but there was no immediate pain and then she heard warm laughter. Adrian opened her eyes and looked up at her father, he laughed as he walked away. She picked herself up and opened the door. She slowly made her way to the small couch there and just laid down staring up at the ceiling wondered what she had done that made her father so mad and pull her out of school accusing her of doing something and lying.

The next day he came to school early- as he usually did-and went tot he roof to watch the sun as he did some of his homework he didn't feel like doing last night. As the time went by student's began to arrive, he waited till about 7:40 then went down to the parking lot to wait for Adrien, though he waited by his bike to make it look like he was just waiting for the bell. Not long after his got there- he saw the black truck pull up- though he wasn't sure if it was the right one or not...
His face slightly hopeful he looked away form the truck and got his bag off the ground and pulled it over his shoulder, and made a slow trail towards the building to make it appear that he wasn't waiting. He did how ever glance over his shoulder to see if she had gotten out.

As the silence clicked by she had nothing to do and nothing to keep her entertained. Adrian was about to get up and walk to the small bathroom that was in the basement but when she got to her feet tears welled in her eyes and she fell back onto the couch "Bad idea" she whispered to herself. Some salt tears slipped down her cheeks and some slipped past her lips.
In the morning Adrian was sore, she was barely able to move but she knew that she had to go to school. Adrian was finally able to get herself to her feet, she slowly moved to the bathroom and rummage through the cabinets till she found a brace for her ankle. Once her ankle was taken care off she slowly made her way upstairs. Her father was already there waiting for her and when he saw her he just grabbed his bag and walked into the garage. She followed and quickly climbed in the truck.
Once at the school Adrian proceeded out of the truck but her father grabbed the back of her shirt "You better behave today or so help me" she nodded her head "Yes sir" she said meekly and he let go. Adrian slowly slide to the ground and tried to keep weight off her ankle and then her father just took off. She breathed a little easier and turned her attention to the school. She really didn't want to be there for once. She didn't feel good and still didn't know what sparked the events of last night.

When he saw Adrien, a smile appeared on his face, he waited for the truck to dissipate then he turned and walked towards her-when he saw her limping his smile turned to a frown," Hey Adrien-whats wrong with your ankle? Did you trip and fall again?" He tried to joke a bit but he didn't know if it was appropriate. "Are you okay?" He said looking her int he eye to watch if she was going to lie or not-he knew what a lie looked like, and he hoped she wasn't going to lie-he hated lies. He walked the slow pace with her, waiting for her to answer in her usual cover story answer-he had decided last night she was covering for the person who as beating her-so he figured it was a boy friend. But he didn't know for sure what she did after school...

"Hi Joan" she said in a quiet voice and kept up her pace as much as she could and looked up at Joan with a small smile "something like that. It's no big deal thought, I'm sure it's only sprained and will be fine in a few days" She told him as nonchalantly as possible. They finally made it into the school and she walked over to her locker to grab out a notebook and pen cause she had forgotten her other one at home.
"So what did you do after school yesterday?" She asked trying to get past the conversation of her ankle. It wasn't the right time to tell him the truth and she was sure he'd never find out and if he did it would be far down the line. That was if she was comfortable telling him or if he was as smart as she remembered him to be.

He noticed how much the ankle hurt as she stopped at her locker. HE reached in his bag and pulled out a bottle of aspirin he handed it to her," Here, this will help with your ankle for a bit.And last night-I didn't do much kinda just watched some TV, then I went to bed. I arrived early to watch the view and do some homework." He said with a smile. He looked like he wanted to say more but dint. In his head he had a few questions such as,'do you have a boy friend-and is he the one beating you up?!', and 'Is it your family that's doing this? did you really 'trip' on that?'....but he kept silence and just smiled at her as they made it slowly to class, not being late but jut before the bell.
The teacher was already in the classroom, which made Joan feel late-but the bell hadn't ring,"Nice of you to come to class you two!" she said accusingly-more so to Adrien. Joan didn't like the tone but he instead went up to the teachers' desk and talked quietly to her," I'm sorry-I accidentally pushed her down the stairs..." As Joan said this a smile erupted on her face, she enjoyed pain and if your reason for being late was painful enough you were off the hook, "Well then-your excused-" at that moment the final bell rang officially starting class. AS he went to his seat he gave her a smile to let her know that was over with and the teacher ate the lie. The teacher got up and started to pace giving every student a weird smile. "Today's lesson will be on Gravity."

She looked at him and took the bottle of aspirin and put it in her locker. She would use it later if her ankle got to bad but she didn't want her father finding out about it. She looked at Joan and noticed that there was something different. It almost seemed like there was something he wanted to ask her. But she just let it go otherwise she was going to be late to class. They started off to class slowly but surely and once inside the classroom she hadn't expected anything less from the teacher then what she got. Adrian only smiled and walked to her set.
She sat heavily in the chair, and opened her notebook. She turned to face the front and listened to the teacher talk not really caring what the teacher had to say. She just wanted to go home for once and sit down in her lonely basement doing her own thing.

As soon as the bell rang, Joan jumped out of his seat and looked back at Adrien as he packed his books away in his side bag. She looked tired, he did notice that-that made him want to take her home or to the nurse-but she didn't like the nurse. Sighing he got his things together-turning in his paper onto the teachers' desk then went to stand by Adrien's desk to wait for her. "Did you bring your lunch today?" He asked with a smile though he doubted it since she didn't arrive with one. He had though of that and had made her one that which he had in his locker. He was proud of his cooking skills and he secretly hoped she would take it, just so he could gloat over how good of a cook he was...*imagines her crying because his lunch was so tasty...* he leaned his head to the side as his hair fell out of this face with a smile that slid with him as he looked at her gathering her books. " You ready for lunch? If you don't wanna go up all those stairs we can eat in the Library...or in the hall-doesn't matter to me..."
