Logan followed a nurse back into the room the girl was given to stay in. She was awaken when Logan walked in and she tilted her head in his direction. He covered up his shock with his sincere smile when he saw how ripped up she still looked. She was once a pretty girl, he'd seen it in her file. Now she looked like she was chewed up by a bear and spat up to die. "Hello Ms. Evans. I'm Logan Kincade, the officer that found you." She nodded and patted the arm of her bed with a scarred hand. He took that as an invitation closer though Joey stayed back. Logan walked to her bedside and looked down at Lisa. She looked tired though he was sure it was the morphine in her system. "Ms. Evans--" "Call me Lisa." She said though it was hoarse. Logan nodded. "Lisa, can I ask you a few questions about yesterday...?" She looked away from him, for a moment looking terrified. She didn't speak and simply nodded. "I know this is a hard time Ms. Evans, but I need you to speak to the best of your abiliy." He said and she gave him another nod. "Yes officer. And it's Lisa..." She said quietly. "Lisa, do you remember anything from yesterday?" Lisa looked to him. "I was at a club, having a good time with my girls." "Which club?" "The Blue Room. The one on Leone Blvd. They have the best drinks and enough suckers to buy for you." She swallowed hard and winced at the effort. "And what time did you leave? Did you leave with anyone?" She shook her head. "I left around 3. I was pretty wasted and nearly fell out in traffic. Some guy helped me." She looked away her eyes closing. She was trembling. Logan got that gut feeling that this was his suspect. "This guy have a name?" "Ian...I don't remember if he had a last name. He was hot, a blonde... I was drunk. I didn't ask too many questions." Logan's eyes narrowed a bit. "You left with him?" She raised a brow at him. "Nah shit.... Want a play by play of what happened next, officer?" Logan took a step back from the bed, his annoyance getting the better of him. "Any more inforamtion?" She sighed. "Yes. I woke up in the morning with him and he did this..." She gestured to herself, a pain in her voice. Logan untensed though he was still annoyed. Again, no more information to exactly connect her with anyone...It was up to the detectives now. He walked out of there after thanking her and went back to his office. He went into the office and found a group of cops near his door, a couple snickering. He pushed his way through the group and glared at Joey who was looking a a card and flowers. "Well well Logan. Seems you've got a admirer." He said and Logan rolled his eyes before jerking his thumb at the door. Joey knew that dark look on his face and instatnly got up and left. The men cleared away and Logan sat at his desk, eyeing the flowers. He plucked the card off his desk and saw the sorry note there from Laurel. He smirked a bit. Did she honestly think he couldn't hand her brother? He tossed the card and looked back at the flowers. He wasn't one for flowers but it was a thoughtful gesture. He'd have to thank her if he got the chance later tonight.

Ian sighed as he dug threw his closet for something to wear. The club was having a special on an girls night- no cover, and he was more than happy to keep a few entertained. "Laurel? have you seen my black slacks?" He yelled his head in the closet, " Laundry room." She chanted back from her book in the living room. She was planning on the bar again tonight- not to drink however- but to have a light wine and maybe some steak. Bar food was usually pretty good. --- ((later that night )) Ian was dressed in black slacks, A tight black formal shirt, the top three buttons undone and a pair of dress shoes on, his favorite. He had his hair in a slight bed head mess because it was modern and cute and he knew he could pull it off. He was strolling down the street towards the thumping night club it was about 8:30 pm and the sky was getting dark and he was looking sharp, more so for a lure to get a soul since his insides were feeling itchy recently. He has seen Laurel get a bit dressed up in a cute knee high dress with some lace on it put her hair up in a cute style only she said she was getting decent for dinner not for a date. He believed her since this morning and she knew better than to cross him. She took a taxi tot eh bar and took a seat and ordered her food. She would order her wine when her food got there. (( --the dress its cute ))

Logan was busy talking with the detective that had entered his office practically all afternoon. He hadn't expected to be involved in the questioning at all, but he was sure that people would want to hear what the woman had to say. Ms. Evan's had seen her attacker but couldn't quite remember enough of the details to help them. They had a name, Ian. But how many men were named Ian. He tossed his head back and tried to think past the headache that was forming. He needed a drink, wanted one to help him forget the terrified look on Lisa's face. He got up and shook hands with the investigator after filling him in on what he could. He was in charge of rearranging the files back for the cases for the month which would take him a little bit. As he worked he was noticing the files were piling up and the few that he was involved in. It seemed there wasn't going to be any clear end to it any time soon. It was hours till he finally finished and by then he was ready for that clock out to be able to go visit the bar. Perhaps he was most happy for the bear but there was also a hint of curiousity to speak with Laurel again. maybe this time he could get some kind of answers to the odd suspicions he was running into with her. He went back to his apartment and washed off before throwing on a pair of jeans and a simplistic grey buttondown. He was hoping to get there with time to actually enjoy time to blow off steam. When he finally walked in it was late and he was already starting to feel his worries fading with the promise that they'd be sedated by something to drink and a long sleep after wards.

She was about half way threw her steak and a third of a way into her wine when a cleaned up Logan walked threw the door. She smiled and washed down her mouthful with some wine, then smiled at him," Your welcome to join me Logan." she offered when he got closer. She was in a good mood, the bar music hadn't been to loud and the customers weren't' too rambunctious yet. She straightened her dress and smiled, knowing that she had been looking forward to see Logan for some reason.

(Aw she wanted to see him lol) Logan heard Laurel's voice and looked to her. It was funny how he felt he could pick her out in a crowd. No doubt because of her hair and eyes. Today she was a bit more dolled up, with her hair done and a white dress on. It was all pretty on her and good with her pale skin. "Don't mind if I do." He said as he motioned to Davis, got his beer and went to join her. He sat across from her and gave her an actual smile. "Pretty dress. Dressed up for a night on the town?" He asked his usual question to see if she really planned to hang out in a smelly bar all night with the other drunks.

She looked down and smiled," No, not really, my brother went out on the town though. He is completely low on his self esteem so he wants to dance it up with some pretty girls, or something like that. He was preaching about it this morning."She smiled as she twirled her wine around in the glass as she smiled over it at Logan. " I was planning on coming here... seeing you then going home- I seem to prefer this dark bar full of old drunks and the like to the bumping loud clubs full of scum." She took a sip like it was a toast to herself or something, knowing that human's were scum after all but this one seemed to be a bit different- it was weird.

Logan smiled at her comment about her brother. He expected the man to have an ego of some sort. Hell most men did. Even Logan got testy when his pride was compromised. But for some reason he didn't turn to women or clubs with his problems. He much prefered a drink....hm, maybe his family was righ. Perhaps he was an alcoholic after all. He smirked at the thought and gave her an equal toast. "Well this old drunk is glad to see you. Strange as it is you add a light to this dusty place." He said as he took another drink. "By the way, the flowers were a nice touch. It gave the boys stuck down at the department something pretty to look at." He said with some humor. "Though no apology was needed. Had someone let either of my sisters get that drunk I'd probably be in a less than nice mood." He understood in a way, though he was still confused as to what the man was digging for. Just what information was Laurel suposed to be keeping from him.

She smiled ans put her wine down, and shifted in her seat. She didn't feel like taking his soul to be honest she felt of him like a fellow demon like a 'friend' of sorts. "I'm sorry about my brother not my drunk decorum...I could careless but having my brother harass you wasn't appropriate- and he is an ass." Her voice was soft and light but she was being serious it was a big demon offense for someone to get into another demon's face over something like information- it was just flat rude. "He didn't have a right to dot hat, it wasn't like I was spilling my heart to you or anything..." She said with a laugh, then took a bite of food to fill her mouth since her words were starting to ramble.

Logan gave a nod. He liked Laurel's attitude. It was refreshing to finally see a woman that honestly didn't care what people thought, that just did her own thing. It was admirable as well as dangerous in its own sense. She however struck him as a smart girl that wouldn't be another Lisa Evans. "No but you did make some valid points. All that talk...and here I thought I was the only one with a shitty past." He chuckled a bit darkly before he gave a shrug. "Harrassing me? If I felt harrassed, sorry to say this, but your brother wouldn't exactly be fit to be out partying now..." It was true. Logan didn't take threats well. "Enough of that though, how's the food? I never struck Davis's employees as a decent cook but hell, what do I know."

((I have band aids on both my middle fingers so forgive me its weird to type...))
Laurel smiled ans swallowed her food," He is a decent cook after all then, you should give him more credit.Although IF my brother makes me mad you think you can harass him for me?" She said more as a joke since she could very well kill him easy but she didn't wanna tell a cop that- much less Logan. "So... We both got shitty pasts, thats interesting... People can become great from dark pasts- however they are usually twisted one way or another... shame really." She muttered as the memory or charred flesh washed threw her nose. She quickly took a drink of her wine and inhaled the smell afterwards to get it gone but it was like it was never there... it was a memory after all. A tear ran from her eye and she quickly wiped it away, she hated being weak- especially instead of others she actual cared bout's opinion.

Logan smiled at her comment about her brother. "I'll give it some thought. " He said though he sensed she could quite easily make the guy sorry for messing with her. He already noticed the night he came to get her that her brother feared her. though he was surprised by her comment about pasts. Dark pasts make someone great, huh? But aslo made them twisted. So was he twisted? He gave a thoughtful look before he shook his head and took a drink. "Yeah I guess. But you've got to have something to cope." He said after swallowing at the sight of her tear. So, she was harboring something? It was none of his business as his own problems weren't hers. But he couldn't help the curiousity and slight...it wasn't exactly sympathy, but an almost kindered feel. "I guess it isn't so good for a cop to be justifying corruption." He said, though it was hardly a sorry tone.

"You make it seem like your job is of any matter to me. People can hide behind their jobs like masks just like a bitch and her make up but it is always there like a hair line scar... She said as she sighed heavily." I'm not saying being twisted is a bad thing, look at me...I'm not that bad...hopefully- thought I'm a mess." She made a small joke with herself, but she didn't' really know if Logan agreed- not that it really bothered her if he did or not. Looking down at her food, she saw the pool of blood on the plate and it made her sick to her stomach, she pushed it away, her eyes wide and she looked a bit panicked. She looked at her glass of wine she had knocked over when she pushed her plate away. Seeing a piece of ground a rather large pool of blood on the table, making its winding slow way towards her white dress. Her eyes followed it and her eyes were wide. She couldn't move, her body frozen, panic written all over her face.

Well, that was a curious answer, definately not what he expected. But hey, she had a point and it wasn't a bad one. She was different, twisted was a new word for him when describing anyone really but he could take the adjective she offered. It was only cuteous not to push the girl too far with his questions, eeven when she was the reason he had those questions in the first place. He blinked when she suddenly shoved her plate away and knocked over her glass. Was it just him or did she look repulsed by something? He noticed she seemed frozen in place, staring at the wine that was seeping across the table at her. He stood and motioned for Davis to toss him something to help with the spill. Davis tossed him a wrag he had been using to wipe down one of the tables and Logan moved over to the table again, placing the wrag dear where the wine was going near her dress. He gave her arm a light touch, barely even a tug to register really, just enough pressure to help coax her from what ever had hold of her thoughts. "You might want to move. White doesn't mix well with red." He said, something that should have been easy and humorous but instead was soft but serious. He was accustomed to people in panic, but it didn't mean it made witnessing it any easier.

She was stuck in the memory of being covered in blood and a dead thing at her feet, it was horrifying to relive theses memories in her head. When she felt a hand on her, she immediately looked over at the culprit-not even looking at the hand thought she had a pocket knife in her hands faster then you could blink. It was visible to only the two there and her eyes were wide and scared like a deer in the road with a semi truck. She put the pocket knife on the table and looked at Logan a bit apologetically. Her eyes down she turned and didn't look at him, she felt embarrassed to have almost taken his hand off in a public place, thought she was having a flashback and she didn't need one here, not now. "I'm sorry..." She said in a mumble as she looked blankly at the table only seeing food and wine, that she had soiled nothing more. "I promise I'm not crazy... Don't hate me..." She said, she strangely felt taken care of with Logan around, but it was odd since he was a human, it was like he was a fellow demon only with out the demon side to him. Her eyes were wet but she didn't move from her seat, if he wanted to leave then she was okay with that. He deserved that right.

Logan barely had time to react the way she did. Soon those green eyes of hers were on him, locking him in place. The fear in her eyes was genuine and the panic there was obviously deep rooted and very real. He wasn't sure what brought it on, a memory, a sense, or even the conversation, but she was quick to react. Before he could bat an eye he had a knife held at him. His senses picked up on the weapon with a bit of a delay due to his shock on how fast she moved. Even he couldn't draw the firearm at his waist that fast. He swallowed hard in the moments it took her to register who he was, his eyes on the knife and for a split second they would flicker back to her face. She put the knife on the table a moment later and apologized. She knew that she had done something wrong, it was evident by how she looked at the table. Hell she had shocked him, but made him think she was insane? Maybe he was pretty screwed up but, he didn't find her crazy or even move away, though he let his hand drop. It was an odd feeling of his protective nature taking to the for front of his thoughts. The emotions he could see in her face, the panic and finally the wetness of her eyes from possible tears. He knew that she hadn't been herself moments ago. He'd seen that look on many a persons face, especially on victims faces when they were bleeding out from a stab wound or an accident. When adrenaline and fear set in, it was all fight or flight. Whatever triggered her, she was reacting. To be honest this made him want to ask her what it was, why she looked the way she did... But it wasn't his place to ask...damn society rules got in the way of that. Call him an irritable drinker, but he was slightly put off by her looking away too. Normally she held his gaze quite nicely. He took her arm again, this time all but lifting her out of the seat. He was determined for one reason or another not to let that dress of her's get ruined--or so he could guess that was the reason..... "It's okay." He looked her in the eyes as he said this, letting her know that he meant it. He then let her go then picked the wrag up and pushed the wine away a bit more. Davis came over with more to mop up the wine before it got down into his wood floor. Wine was a bitch to get out of wood. Logan let Davis handle things and slipped her knife away before Davis saw it. "Not to be clever, but hate is a strong word. I don't hate. But I have to say I'm going to be careful not to get in a fight with you. You've got a quick draw." He said offering her the knife back discretely. If he worried she would harm him, he wouldn't have given her it back, he hoped she understood that.
