Drina had a small smile on her face as she watched the two interact with each other. She was sure that Shawn and her looked much the same when they picked on each other. "I'm not really sure. You two are the first two other jumpers we have run into. I guess pretty much hiding is the cause of that but better safe then sorry" she said as she finished off her sandwich and placed her plate back on the try. She had already filled up on the sandwich so she was too full to eat the fries.
She looked at Shawn and knew that he wasn't talking for a reason so she picked up a fry from her plate then tossed it at him "what?" His head jerked up with shock "you're being silent again" she snipped at him and so he tossed one of his own fries at her. "I'm silent cause I have nothing to say" "Really. You have nothing to say" Shawn shrugged his shoulders.

Tash nibbled on her bottom lip then decided she might as well let them in on one of her own secrets. " I can pick out people who are like us." She explained. " That's how I knew about you Drina. That's the reason we've found other jumpers." Drina and Shawn had likely walked past so many jumpers but they didn't have the ability she had. " I can jump..but the Paladin don't know. We keep it a secret. I don't jump ever unless needed." But that wasn't her only secret. " I can track jumpers as well. If I need jason I just focus on him and I can jump right next to him. We tried it out with a friend Skye to see if it was just limited to Jason but I could track her as well." That was part of the reason they kept her ability to jump a secret from the paladin.
Imagine what they'd do if they realised she could track other jumpers. It was a scary thought. " I jump her everywhere that way the paladin will never suspect that she can jump."

That was a new one for Drina to hear but her smile brightened, she was glad that she wasn't the only weird one among the weirdness of jumpers. She took a shallow breath and looked at her brother. He didn't look happy and was probably upset at the fact that he didn't know what was going on. Her heart hurt for him and the fact that she was the one who did it to him. "It's understandable" she finally told them and then Shawn got to his feet and picked up the plates and walked back into the kitchen. "Excuse me for a minute" she told them and followed him. Drina placed a hand on his shoulder "I'm fine Drina" he didn't turn around to her so she walked in front of him. She started signing a couple of things and he looked away from her. Shawn hated it when she started doing that, it only reminded him more of his hearing loss "Drina, I told you I'm fine"
Shawn pushed past her and walked back into the living room but then kept walking "Shawn don't be like this" she yelled at him though she was sure that he wouldn't hear here. He then walked into his room closing the door, she sighed heavily "I'm sorry about that" she said as she sat back in the living room in Shawn's spot "Um...first off this has nothing to do cause you guys are here" she felt that it needed to be said cause she didn't want them to feel bad. "When we were first learning to jump Shawn wanted to be safe but I refused to listen to him so I would jump where ever I wanted when ever which got me into a lot of trouble. One day I bit off more then I could chew and took on a Paladin by myself. Shawn tracked me down and saved me but at the cost of loosing his hearing. Now being around other people is hard cause if they talk too fast he gets lost. He has learned to read lips cause he hates it when people sign to him, it just makes him feel even worse about not being able to hear" she had to take a breath and then grabbed her glass off the table and sat back.

Jason watched the exchange between the two slightly confused. Maybe Shawn wasn't as okay as he acted with the two of them being here. " If we're intruding we can go." He offered. He didn't want to tread on Shawn's toes and intrude any more then they had. As Drina excused herself he looked at Tash who appeared just as confused as he was. " Did we offend him?" She asked softly. Without knowing the answer he kept silent shrugging despite the fact she wouldn't be able to see the action.
" You and my brother have that in common." She didn't mean to sound rude but Jason went looking for trouble and always found it. She also knew first hand how Shawn felt. Having something taken away from you from the Paladin wasn't a nice feeling. Before the car accident she had perfect eyesight but now she was blind. She hated feeling so weak and defenseless. " Could I talk to him?" She asked not to sure how Drina would take to her asking that. If she said no then that was okay as well.

Drina was about to tell them that they didn't need to stay any longer but Tash had a point. Maybe she could get through to him in a way that she couldn't. She had to to think on it for a minute and couldn't find anything wrong with her talking to him. "Maybe you could get through his thick skull. There's a button on the door handle, that will let him know that someone is at his door" she told him and then thought about it. Drina hoped that she would be able to find it and then she got to her feet. She wanted to treat Tash like she was normal just as much as she tried with her brother but that was hard sometimes. "I'll take you to his door" she said as she gentle grabbed Tash's hand and lead her to his door "Just...talk slow if you can" she gave her one last bit of information and then walked back into the kitchen.
Drina sat down and sighed heavily, things were getting to be too much. She hoped that maybe this would help her brother some but she also needed some relief from her life. "So Jason...um...why don't you tell me a little about yourself. That is if you want to"

" Maybe." She wanted to give it a try regardless and was rather hoping for a positive outcome. " I'll give it a shot though." At Drina's words Tash flashed Drina a grateful smile as she took her hand and lead her to his bedroom. It would've embarrassed her thoroughly to ask to be lead to Shawn's bedroom. " Thanks." Really she meant the words and she had a feeling Drina would be able to tell just how grateful she was to have not had to ask to be showed to his room. Pressing the button she stood shyly at the door.
Jason watched Drina lead his sister toward Shawn's door unable to resist the urge to shake his head. " If anyone can make him talk it will be Tash. She's too nice to get angry at and she's kind." If you got angry with Tash it was like getting angry at a puppy dog there was just something that shouldn't be done especially when she got that sad distressed look on her face. Not to mention she went out of her way to help others just like her offer to talk with shawn. " What would you like to know?" He asked. " I was five when I first found I could jump. " Leaning back on the couch he looked towards the direction Drina had taken tash. " Tash found out when she was just 8 the paladin pushed my parents car into the river with her inside of it. She jumped but the trauma caused her to become blind. " He explained. " She doesn't complain but I know she hates being so defenceless. Everytime we move I have to show her around the rooms teach her where everything is and she does it all without complaining."

Shawn was laying on his bed with his arm over his head, he knew he shouldn't be acting like this but he hated feeling left out. He knew that this was something that Drina craved and needed so that she wouldn't go insane or start drawing attention to them again but he hated this feeling. He hated being different and hated having this disability. He sighed heavily and then something caught his eye. Shawn sat up in bed and looked over at his door where a light bulb above his door flashed. 'Great, Drina's gonna try to cheer me up' he thought to himself as he got out of bed and opened the door. His jaw slacked a little bit when he saw Tash standing there. "Um...yes?"
"I see. Shawn was the first to realize and I found out about a year later but the protection thing I was aware of before I knew I could jump" she told him and then thought about a question she could ask him. "Do you have any hobbies besides getting into trouble?"

" Um...yes?" His words made her falter a look of uncertianty on her face now she wasn't so confident. Remembering what Drina said she was mindful to not talk so fast not that she did that much. " Can I talk to you?" She asked then stood playing nervously with the strands of her shirt.
" Really. How does it work though. Is it just something you can just do?" He asked. " What if getting in trouble is what I do best though?" He asked with a chuckle.

Shawn's brows knitted together, he wondered why she wanted to talk to him but what could hurt. "Come on in" he said and moved away from the door to let her in. He wondered what she wanted to talk about, maybe he had offended her or something like that.
Drina shrugged her shoulders "Well cause I've never been able to test it I'm not sure. I concentrate and I get this tingle sensation in my hands and when I touch my jump spot it seems like it goes away" she told him but it didn't exactly fully explain how it happens. "That's not really answer the question but ok...um...do you have any interests"

Well it seemed like Shawn wasn't as quick to catch on as Drina was. With a red tinge on her cheeks Tash took a step forward unsure if she was going to walk into anything. Hovering by the doorway not keen to step further into the room and risk an injury like the bruised leg she'd gotten from the alley way she gave a soft smile. " I just wanted to talk to you because you're similar to me." Maybe she was being blunt she'd allow him to call her rude if that's what he called her. They were similar though having both recieved a loss as a result of the paladin. " Drina told us how you lost your hearing." Now she was really hoping not to offend him. " I lost my eyesight when the paladin drove my parents car into the lake."
" I wish I could do that." He admitted. " Tash's trick is handy as well but I don't let her use it." He explained. " Yeah. I like music. I can play the guitar but I haven't done that forever. What about you?"

Shawn left his door open cause she looked a little uncomfortable and then he walked over to his bed and sat down. He had to keep his eyes trained on hers just in case she started talking and before he knew it she was talking. He caught a few words like similar, Drina, parent's and lake. Shawn sat there for a minute trying to piece together what she had said. Well when things concerned Drina that could be a number of things but Tash has also said similar and he guess that she meant they were similar but he couldn't figure out what parents and a lake had to do with it.
"Drina says a lot of things" he finally said hoping that it was a good enough answer. He was still curious as to why she wanted to come talk to him at this moment and then his mind wandered. That would mean that Drina was out in the living room by herself with Tash's brother. "I hope that I didn't offend you earlier" he told her as he remembered his little outburst before he came to his room.
Drina bobbed her head, music was always a fun topic especially if someone could play an instrument. Though she was a little thrown when he asked about her. "Well I enjoy dancing"

Tash released a soft exasperated sigh as she remained standing in the doorway. Clearly Shawn wasn't going to be that quick to catch on. Every time she spoke to him she was mindful to talk slowly and face what she hoped was his direction " You didn't offend me." She replied. " I wanted to talk to you. I think you could use a friend.
With a little smile she forced a laugh although the red tinge of embarrassment was still clear on her cheek. " I'm blind are you going to make me stand in the doorway or are you going to help me?" She asked. It really sucked having to ask she hated being so weak but at the risk of walking into something she'd relent and push her pride away.
He wasn't much of a dancer it wasn't his thing but he loved the music and could sit and watch people dance for hours." Well there you go I can provide the music." Jason joked.

'A friend...that would be nice' he thought to himself as his eyes drifted about his room. It was a mess and he was only thinking now that he should have cleaned it up. Shawn's eyes went back to her knowing that he should focus on her for the moment cause she was probably still talking.
A moment later he jumped to his feet "Please forgive my rudeness. I had forgotten you were blind" he said and walked over to her gently taking her hand and leading her over to his desk chair. "You can sit at my desk chair" he told her and placed her hand on the back of the seat. His cheeks were beat red at the moment as he mentally kicked himself for forgetting. Then he returned to sitting on his bed "Um...well...talking, I've never been that good at it"
Drina gave him a pleasant smile "You don't dance?" She inquired as she pictured Jason playing the guitar while she danced and she couldn't say that she hated the thought.

Tash really wasn't as good at this as she'd first lead herself to believe. Maybe Shawn didn't want her company and she certiantly didn't want to harass him if she wasn't welcome.
His words suprised her and as she felt Shawn taking her hand she flashed him a shy smile. " It's okay." She reassured him. She could definitely deal with someone forgetting she was blind it was better then them being conscious of it. As he lead her to the desk chair she gripped the chair then sat down. " That's okay. " She didn't talk all that much either so that worked for her.
" Girls dance." Pulling a face Jason then looked up at Drina before laughing to show he was only joking. " I can dance..not the greatest but i'd rather watch people dance to my music."

Shawn rubbed the back of his neck trying to think of something to say but he was still coming up with nothing. There was a girl sitting in his room wanting to talk to him and talking about him needing a friend. "Um...just so I can be sure. Drina didn't put you up to this, did she?" He asked though once he said it he felt really bad. "Don't get me wrong. I'm actually kind of glad that it's you talking to me and not my sister. She just...pries a lot...sometimes it would be nice to just have someone to talk to. I mean I don't want to make her feel worse then she already does cause she blames herself for my hearing loss but it was my choice to go after her and defend her" he started to ramble on and on and part of himself felt better.
Drina started laugh lightly at his response but he seemed like he was being truthful. "I'm sure you can dance, you are just nervous about looking stupid in front of other people" she told him and picked up her glass taking a small sip "I use to be the same way till I stopped caring. Though it's night like I can go out dancing like I use to"
