Sohta was bored. He was laying on the floor of his secret little work room staring at the ceiling. Despite the fact that he despised most of his brethren, they at least knew how to throw a party and not get freaked out if you vanished mid way through chugging a keg. He sighed and turned his attention to the door which opened to reveal Momoko. "Are you just going to lay around like a bum all night? Get up." She grumped, still angry with him for the crush comment in front of Adrian. When he didn't move, she came over and rather forcefully nudged Sohta in the ribs with her foot. "Ow. That hurt." He said and rolled his eyes. Momoko mimicked him with a huff and then held out a piece of paper that showed he was going to be in a concert tomorrow night. "Why don't you show me what you are going to be playing tomorrow? I mean, it must be important if you're allowed to break your most important rule." She looked angry and Sohta smiled. "Aw, would my baby-sis like to go out and have fun at a party?" He questioned as he stood and dusted off the back of his pants. "No, but maybe I would like to go out with my friends just once instead of seeming like some weird girl who has a control freak for a brother."Sohta gave her a mock-hurt expression and she spun around, marching out of the room. Sohta groaned, his head rolling back. He followed her out of the room, the secret door closing behind him. "Momoko, wait." He called and found her sitting on the living room couch; arms crossed and face hard. "I know you want to try and live a normal life, but I'm trying to protect you." He began and Momoko just glared at him. "Protect me! I am not a child anymore. If I get summoned while I'm with my friends, it won't be a big deal. I will find a place where they wont see anything." She had more to say but Sohta wouldn't let her. "But what if there is no place to go. Do you understand what would happen if anyone found out what you are? We would be hunted down like animals!" Sohta's face was angry, but when he saw Momoko start to tear up, it soften and he came over to her, kneeling in front of her. "Shhh. One night. I'll give you one night. But if anything happens Momo....just be careful when you do."

He got home about 11:30 and he was dog tired. He had to clean the whole building to a presentation for walk threw tomorrow. It was back breaking work but he did it with out complaint- it paid rather well and he didn't have to play well with others. He crashed on his couch when he got home- he was so exhausted. --- When his alarm went off in the morning he groaned, rolling over he felt his butt hit the floor.Pulling one leg at a time he got up heading to the bathroom, he needed to get cleaned up before school. Glancing at his phone he had about an hour before he had to leave. He set some things about 'the room'- more meticulous preparation for the summon he was going to make. He was going to leave his summons reading and notes at home today- catch some sleep between classes hopefully- if not then he was going to be studying for the exams that were coming up rather quickly. When he finished with that he grabbed himself a breakfast bar then headed out- school bag on his back and some coffee in hand. He arrived early- as usual- he hated crowds. He sat in his desk and a sigh escaped his lips as he took a sip of his coffee. It was warm and bitter, he dank it black- it woke him up more.

Yumino walked along the street with an air of ease even though it was late and would otherwise be unsafe for a young woman to be alone. As a girl she found comfort in the fact there were people around her, as a witch she found ease in the fact her hand was charged with that charm she put on her ring. Should it come in contact with anyone, they were in for a real 'shock'. She giggled at the reference and also because she was sure she wouldn't need it. She had walked these streets before. As long as she moved quickly through the bar and party district she would be in the clear and not caught up in anything too crazy. She wondered a moment about today and then remembered Sohta's number was still on the paper and not in her phone. She plucked it out and looked it over wondering just what to think about all this. He was an interesting guy...but what would he think if he knew the truth behind all those rumors? That she really was a witch and that her magic could very easily be used for evil. But perhaps it was in her interest to try and build some form of relationship, have another friend out of the 4 she had... She tapped in the number, not paying attention to infront of her till she slammed into someone rather solid. She dropped her phone and it clattered on the sidewalk where no one else was walking. She staggered a bit and caught herself on a phone booth that was near her. She looked up with startled eyes to find the man she had smacked in to. He looked startled as well, but there almost seemed to be a delay to his reaction. "Sorry--" She began but he interrupted her with a shake of his head. "It's not a problem. Let me help you." He said with a rather heavy slur and he reached for her arm and pulled her up by the wrist of her hand with the ring. She was a bit worried when he squinted at her and seemed to look her over in a rather...violating way. "Hey you're pretty cute..." He said with a rather lopsided girn. Yumino could only guess he was going for a flirtatious look but the smell of alcohol on his breath was so strong it made her shift away reflexively. "How about you and I go find some fun huh?" She shook her head, starting to get uncomfortable. When she turned her gaze on him he gave a slight wince and raised her arm a bit. "Hey no need to be cold sweet heart. I promise you'll have a good time." He said and blinked when his fingers brushed something on her wrist. He looked at it and saw the wierd mark there and instantly his smile widened. "Wow, nice scar cutie. But that just means your begging for attention right...Got to be with hair like that." He said and Yumino gave him a rather wide eyed look. "No, hey--I said no!" She snapped, struggling to get him to turn loose of her wrist. At least if she had her charmed ring she could get a good few volts in him to make him leave her alone. Her stuggling only made him pull her close, her body pressed against his roughly and even a hand on her butt. Yumino squeaked when his grip tightened on her wrist and he went on about her enjoying something or rather as he pulled her off the crowded street with him down a side street that was virtually empty. She looked around with a bit of panick to find someone to help but they all seemed to be drunk or ignoring her. In other words she was on her own in figuring this out. She couldn't fight the guy off with strength but she could use a spell but she worried that she might kill the guy with her inexperience. It was still a crime in the magic world to use your magic to kill someone as it was in the human realm.
((I'm thinking her phone when it hit the ground dailed Sohta and he could hear the last bit of the conversation or maybe somehow he senses she's in trouble or something.))

Sohta had made up with Momoko and had since begun going through a list of different songs that he was contemplating using. He had access to a keyboard he could use for some of the songs if he wanted, but he used the guitar to help with the melody of the song. Momoko listened, wondering why she didn’t get the gene for singing, though she figured she could modify her vocal chords if she really wanted to. It was just nice to be able to hear Sohta sing the way he did. “What about this one?” Mokoko questioned, pointing to a song name on a list Sohta had written. They were songs he enjoyed. Sohta shook his head, tapping the pencil he was using on his thigh. “That’s too much for this concert.” He replied and Momoko shrugged. “Couldn’t you tone it down, make it your own or something?” She wondered aloud and Sohta gave her a grin. He began strumming on the guitar, humming the tune to himself. He opened his mouth to sing, but his phone began going off. Momoko gave him a weird look and Sohta reached in his pocket and pulled it out. He recognized the number as Yumino’s, even though she hadn’t yet given it to him. He answered it.
“Helloooo?” He half sang into the phone, but there was no answer. He frowned and listened hard. He heard faint noises and something in him began to worry. Momoko was silent, for sure trying to listen in on the conversation that was nonexistent. Sohta’s brow furrowed and suddenly it felt as though lightening shot through him. Yumino was in danger. This wasn’t right. Anger struck him in the chest and without a word, he dropped his phone and nearly threw his guitar off of his lap. Momoko caught it, but when she glanced up, Sohta was gone. All that was left was a faint purple-black puff of smoke rising into the ceiling. She leaned back and sat on the floor. This couldn’t be good. ~~~ Sohta anger only grew as the feeling that something was wrong with Yumino grew. He appeared in the shadows of a back alley, the scent he made from his magic hidden perfectly due to the disgusting trash bins that lined the back alley between bars and clubs. His eyes adjusted quickly and his now violet eyes narrowed, almost glowing in the low light. He was in his usual getup with white hair and a kimono that if sold could probably pay off everyone’s bar tab for the night in the bar to his right. Sohta’s fist tightened when he saw a man, drunk by the look of him, holding Yumino’s wrist. The man was trying to use his hand to roam across the rest of her body. He began whispering a rather nasty curse and stepped out of the shadows, his face rather calm but for the anger that seemed to make his purple eyes glow. He wasn’t going to kill this man, at least not right away. No one would touch his merchandise—his little witch. “I suggest you let the lady go.” He said loud enough so the man and Yumino would hear him. His footsteps were silent even on the cracked pavement. He really detested being in garbage alleys. “That is if you want to keep your life.” He smiled when he said that, a wicked grin that held no lie.

((You and me both sister))
Yumino's heart was racing, terrified of what was going to happed and what she could do to prevent it. She was scared what she might do, but also about what she couldn't do. She felt the hand on her and quickly grabbed it her nails digging into the skin. He yelped a bit, his hand receeding but before he could say or do anything, a voice was echoing down the alley to them. The moment the voice reached her ears, her eyes flicked in the direction and she found a person she hardly expected to be there. "August..." The name escaped her in a breath, though it was not quite out of relief as it was out of slight fear. August was telling the man to let her go and he was here. But why? Had he been here to collect? It wasn't possible that he was protecting her right.... 'Just protecting an investment...' She thought though her eyes didn't leave August. The man looked rather confused at August, his eyes taking in what he was wearing and how he looked. To a average man, he looked so out of place and wierd after all. To a magic user, he looked very threatening. There was a certain heaviness to the air that the man responded to by tensing slightly. "Beat it. It's none of your business dude." He half sneered and Yumino gave a rather wide eyed look. "No...you don't want to do that. He's not--" She tried telling the stupid man but he gave her a quirk of his brow. "What? He's just some trippy wierdo." Yumino gave him a faint look of fear before turning her eyes back to August. She was worried how he would react, especially since this guy hardly showed signs of letting this go.

Sohta’s eyes floated to Yumino as he heard his name escape her lips. His head cocked to the side as he turned his attention back to the obstinate little human male that didn’t seem to understand that Sohta was being generous by even giving him a choice to let go of Yumino. His little witch tried to warn the drunken fool, but he wouldn’t listen. He sighed at the words that came from the man. “It’s a pity really—“ He began but then smiled gleefully. “But then, who am I to complain.” He rushed forward in a quickness that a drunken man probably wouldn’t be able to follow and grabbed hold of his target’s neck. He lifted the man clear off the ground and looked up at his face. Sohta’s face looked a little strained now, his inner anger not wanting to let him hold back. “Give me one reason why I shouldn’t end your pitiful existence?” He hissed. Sohta’s eyes narrowed and he strung the energy of the closest ley line inside of him. His left hand, the one not connected with the man’s neck, seemed almost to spark slightly, the curse he had been weaving forming into existence. Oh, how he wanted to use it; but part of him was holding back.

((Against a demon? The guy will be a smear on the sidewalk!!!)) Yumino looked like a cornered deer at this point, her eyes wide and watching things quickly getting worse. It wasn't that she could do anything. August was obviously angry and she was no match against an angry demon. Besides, this man's life was not worth her own. Yumino took a step back into the wall behind her when the man was suddenly snatched from her and hoisted up by a mere one hand of August. He could snap this man like a twig if he wanted to, obliterate him into ash if he felt like it....but the man only seemed to see a freakishly strong man threatening him. "What the hell man?!" He snapped before delibrately spitting at August's face. He pried at the grip till he got loose and landed rather clumsily on his feet. "The chick ain't worth this but I'm sure as hell am not going to let you disrespect me." He growled before throwing a punch at Sohta's face. Yumino squeaked out a "stop" but it didn't seem that they would listen to her. She could see the glow to August's hand and smell the magical power rising from him. This was very dangerous and thw worst part was she was caught in the middle of it.

When the man spit on Sohta, he nearly lost it. The man squirmed as Sohta took a deep breath, temporarily closing his eyes to try and stay calm. When he did, the man slipped from his grip and began uttering nonsense about disrespect. Sohta dodged the punch with ease and he wiped the spittle off of his face. He heard Yumino’s squeak almost as clear as day and it only fueled his fire. A white handkerchief popped into Sohta’s unoccupied hand. He continued to avoid the man’ attacks while cleaning his face and hand more. He looked completely calm, as those this drunken fool was just a child trying to wrestle an uncle. He threw the handkerchief into the air and it vanish with a puff right as Sohta went and caught another of the man’s punches. “Are you quite finished yet?” He questioned, smiling a smile that held no humor. His left hand crackled with power and his right squeezed hard enough to break bone in the man’s hand. He cocked his head to either side, pondering just what he should do. “You mentioned something about hell a little earlier.” Sohta began, pulling the drunken man’s arm up while pushing down, trying to get him to kneel. “Well, that’s where I’m from.” His smile faded as he looked at the man with wild eyes. “Listen well, little boy, you made the wrong move trying to touch what’s mine. Prepare to pay the price.” His voice was a growling whisper by the end of his words and his left hand, nearly looking like a lightning storm, connected with the man’s face and Sohta let the curse go. It was something incredibly painful but it usually didn’t kill the victims. When the man dropped, Sohta shivered and glared at the body. "Never mess with the Prince." He muttered and then turned his attention to Yumino, no traces of the overly happy demon left. The only expression on his face was pure rage.

The fight was over before it really began though Yumino expected as much. August was a powerful demon and this man was a drunkard after all. She couldn't help, though, that she had tensed and backed herself as far away from the two as she could manage in the space. Violence wasn't her forte. The man had already lost this fight, August having him kneeling in pain before he could even land a hit. She saw the crackle of the power in his hands and her eyes quickly shut when she saw him raise his hand to finish this. She heard the pained choked screams before things just went silent. The silence dragged on and Yumino felt a pressure gathering round her. It was the sense of power that she could feel, one that was very dark and charged with emotion. It was scary, more so than it had been. She looked up hesitantly, her eyes opening slowly so as to allow them to shut quickly if she saw something she shouldn't. She found the man first on the ground and unconscious and thankfully not dead. She felt brief relief, something that disappeared when her eyes were then drawn to August. He was looking at her with an expression of rage, something she hadn't seen on the demon's face before and she had to admit it scared her. August looked threatening and powerful, his usual beauty she had always seen there on the surface but contorted in his anger. She felt her heart stop and her breath caught in response. She couldn't speak, couldn't muster any movement despite the light tremble that passed over her. What should she say? Should she thank him? Was he angry with her? It just wasn't clear. She looked down instead, rubbing her bruised wrist as she struggled to compose herself enough to speak.

Sohta started forwad, towards Yumino. He paused mid-step and was brought down to one knee by the shear amount of pain that erupted inside of his body. It felt as though ever single nerve ending was on fire. He let out a sound of pain and closed his eyes; muttering, “I accept the price.” Over and over until the pain stopped. The Spirits of nature made you suffer when you didn’t accept the price for a curse right away. They would make the imbalance on your soul hurt. It was rather embarrassing, but he wasn’t going to bring it up in conversation. His mind had just been elsewhere. He stood upright and noticed that she had been rubbing one of her wrists. He could see, even in the darkness that it was already beginning to bruise. He walked up to her, nearly pining her up against the brick wall that was to her back. He took hold of the bruised wrist, probably in a manner that would have hurt some, but he used a healing curse without a word; this time accepting the imbalance right away and without pain. His face was still angry, but the pain from earlier had diminished his flame, he wasn’t going to make a rash decision now. “What were you thinking?” He hissed, slamming his right hand into the wall next to her head. “I’ve given you a means to protect yourself and you didn’t seem to try to do anything? I can’t have you running around in the middle of the night getting attacked by everyone on the street.” Sohta’s right hand roughly cupped Yumino’s cheek. “You are mine and I will not tolerate what is mine being damaged in any way.” He took a step back, letting one of his fingers linger underneath of Yumino’s chin for a moment before dropping away. “Don’t you ever walk this late alone again.” He warned, taking another step back. “You will call me; just say my name and I will escort you. Especially since it doesn’t seem as though you are capable of protecting yourself. “

Yumino looked shocked when August suddenly dropped with a pained sound. Her eyes flickered over him worriedly till she realized it must have been a reprocusion for the magic he had been using. It was a powerful curse he had weaved if it had that kind of kick back. Suddenly however August was moving toward her again, seeming a bit more composed but still angry. He was suddenly close, too close for her armbent slightly at in an awkward way when August took her wrist rather forcefully. She looked into his eyes when he spoke, the angry question making her silently fret over how to respond. He hardly gave her time to answer however. She flinched when at the sound of his hand hitting the wall by her ear but her eyes didn't leave his. His statement was true. She had the means to protect herself however she was currently caught between controling her ability better and protecting herself. It was one thing for a spell to be weak enough not to really harm someone and accidentally killing a man just for drunk antics. Not that she would ever tell August that, expecially not in this state he was in. She was sure it would just make him angrier... The rough touch to her cheek woke her from her thoughts, wincing as he talked to her basically like she was a possession. Well, to be honest that's all she really was anymore... His next bit of information to her however shocked her. She stared at him a brow raising ever so slightly till her lip turned down in a very light frown at the last bit. She nodded lightly, not giving away any sort of readable thought. Anyone that knew her knew that she didn't like being told she couldn't take care of herself. She wasn't helpless, didn't like feeling helpless. She was just currently at a very odd time of figuring things out. "Yes, August." She said when he moved away, pride making her stand a bit straighter despite her feeling that she didn't have any choice in the matter. And really she didn't or ever would. However the thought of August escorting her....it was a wierd thought. Not exactly good but not all that bad either... "Thank you for stepping in...it won't happen again."Her voice was soft but hardly meek and her answer was just that, not a plea in her defense or even a retort. Just an answer to his will. It just hinted at submission, which was what she was subjected to at the moment, since he was the demon who had a claim on her. He could do what he wanted with her, kill her if he saw feet, take her soul, or make her suffer a much worse fate than what the man who made the mistake of harming what was his. She had no room to be defiant or to argue. And besides, she was rather confused at why he was so animate about her not being harmed, why he even took the trouble of healing her simple bruise. Sure she was his and all, but did demons really make an effort to protect someone like this? She had never had any other experience with demons before, but she always thought them rather...uncaring. To be honest what was her life compared to any other witches in the city? She didn't like thinking that way, but it was a small dark thought in the back of her mind from the day she entered this odd contract with him.
