"Yeah, about Natalie, how she suddenly started ranting at you..." He glanced over at Claire's prepare noticing she was writing the correct answer he let her continue till he was sure she was wrong then he would correct her. Glancing back at Posh he sighed," She was flipping out and I'm threw with her. She is driving me absolutely bloody insane. I told her to have her shit out by tomorrow. " He simply stated for posh knowing she needed to know the whole story and that was a good summary of it.

Posh listened to his summary and took it as the truth. After all she knew how much Natalie had worn him down. She sighed herself nodding slightly at the thought that it was right to let her go. “Yeah, I get it. Better now than never, I suppose.” She said though she triumphed in the small fact of knowing that things were going to get better. But just how much better she couldn’t tell just yet. Claire worked but couldn’t help her glances up at the two. Always conversing so easily, understanding one another. She was glad to see people able to comfort one another with words, though Posh seemed to be the one in the better mood by it. She realized she had stopped working and placed her pen down, picking up her water and taking a small sip from it. “Things must have been pretty bad.” She mentioned aloud, not really realizing she had till Posh spoke up. “Depends on perspective, kitten. Everything’s all about perspective.” She said and raised the book back eye level. Claire nodded. “I guess so..but there are so many perspectives to understand. It must be hard to know if something really is better for both…”“Are you really trying to be a relationship counselor right now?” Posh asked, unable to hide the slight annoyance in her words. Claire shook her head quickly, her look purely innocent. “N-no no never, I was just-there’s just a lot of things and sides to every story and-people are always different-and I hope you feel better Matt-And Posh sorry.” She lowered her head, a blush of chagrin in her face. Posh sighed and gave her a shake of the head. “Gosh quit acting like I’m getting ready to eat your liver or something .” She giggled sipping her tea.

Nodding he agreed with her, knowing he wont have some one breathing down his back critiquing his every move any more. It was starting to sound really nice. Looking back at Claire as she opened her mouth joining a conversation she knew absolutely nothing about. Snickering when Posh called her a relationship counselor he shrugged at her in a way of saying sorry, but she had to admit it was funny. "Your both right- It is on perspective, but is there perspective in Physics? No, there is only one way of seeing it. Plain and simple, she was a bitch-a controlling one at that." he said as a joke more than anything, physics was the only thing he really understood enough to compare a relationship too.

Claire should have expected his thoughts on the matter. Many a man thought of things one way, but who was she to mention anything, even speak about this. Just relationship stuff bothered her, hence why she tried to stay away from them. “So blunt but effective. I agree.” Posh said and Claire shrugged. “So, I hear there’s supposed to be rain blowing in from the north. Possibly causing a shower or two for tomorrow. “ Claire said, hoping to sway the topic. “Ew. I hate rain! It ruins my hair and smudges my makeup. Besides, the weather is so down right dreary this time of year!” In reference to fall it was normal for it to rain. The only problem is the roads were slick and the soil muddy and marshy on the campus. “I think it’s wonderful. I love rain.” She said, pushing her hair out of her face. She smiled brightly as the light from the windows above them seemed to pour in a little brighter. It had to be late noon and she was already almost finished with the physics work. It was shocking to her though that Schwartz hadn't shown up today...infact she didn't see him at the party either....She blinked in confusion. Did the man get sick or something? Well, if so she would keep his health in her thoughts, hoping it wasn't something too serious. (wow for a girl with pretty good grades she's not very good with observations)

"As long as you have a rain coat and an umbrella you should be fine." He said. "Don't you always look like that though Posh?" He said making an wise crack at her and he moved so she wouldn't swing at him. "So Claire, Why do you love rain so much?" He asked her with real curiosity, most people hated it, here in was cold and damp.

Posh gave him a rather peeved look, raising a hand as if to swat at him but he moved to quickly for her to catch him. She stuck her tongue out at him, picking up her drink while giving him the dirty look. Claire smiled and covered her mouth slightly in an attempt to hide it but Posh simply rolled her eyes and started laughing slightly herself. Claire heard Matt’s question, her smile faltering behind her hand for a moment. She quickly regained the smile however her eyes flitting down to the table as she thought back on what the rain held for her. “I love a lot about it…The sound, the way it just seems to fall from heaven itself, kind of like its cleansing things in the world, even people sometimes.” She said, a swift memory coming to her of walking in the parks in Chicago with her mother when she was 6, the day it rained and the two stayed out to play in the rain, only to be in bed with fevers the next day…She looked up her smile bright and her mood seeming lifted, though on the inside she felt almost worn out from the fading thought. “I guess I read too much into it, trying to make something deeper than what it is.” She said giving a small shrug. “Well the water can cleanse away all it wants, but I’m not looking beastly in the morning from all the humidity.” Posh said, daring Matt to make another comment. Claire shrugged. “To each, his own.” She said then looked to Matt. “You must have a favorite type of weather. If not the rainy days then what?” She asked, glad she’d at least shifted from the awkward conversation about this Natalie girl.

"Personally I like the snow, its pure white, a new change from the drab of society and humans, its filled with millions of individual snow flakes like people so no one is exactly the same. Its simply beautiful. " He said in a simple voice, he wasn't' going to go into too much detail just enough to get the point. His fondest memory was from when he was young, building his first snow man at his country side house. His family inside, him still lingering out there from after school. He was enjoying the silence, the beautiful white landscape, it was precious. In the city they lived in now the snow was grey mush, it was always noisy. Sighing he put the rest of his finished work back into his bag, glancing at his clock it was almost time to return to class.

Claire watched Matt as he spoke, her eyes betraying that slight surprise as well as fondness. She loved the way you could look at nature through the eyes "Snow....I've only passed through it when I was little. My parents never agreed with snow, they always thought it was a nuisance." She smiled, remembering watching her father shovel the drive while her mother worked on dusting the flurries off the porch. Posh looked between two, seeming quite surprised that she hung out with people that actually thought of simple weather like it was some kind of deep thing. "You two are so damn poetic. Just strike me up for loving sunny days, plenty of cute men and outfits to go around then." She snickered. The poetic comment made Claire want to laugh because she had had a poem come to mind. "Well Posh, as Emily Dickinson wrote...In snow thou comest --Thou shalt go with the resuming ground, The sweet derision of the crow, And Glee's advancing sound." She said mostly to herself, the poem by Emily Dickinson, her favorite poet, echoing in her mind. Sure the poet had a more sinister message to come with the second verse, but she felt the first portion fit the way she thought of snow a litlte more. "It's getting close to my next hour. I'm sure my history professor will be annoyed if I'm late." She said as she grabbed her stuff herself. She didn't want to keep anyone back talking about things they might find trivial after all..

Matt's mouth fell open a bit when she started saying a poem. He walked out the door with her but as he passed her slowly he said to her in a almost depressed tone. "In Fear thou comest--Thou shalt go at such gait of joy, That man anew embark to live, Upon the depth of thee." He walked off then to his own history class, in another building. He only wanted her to hear the other half of the poem, knowing she probably knew it but so did he. After class he didn't see anyone he knew but about two minutes till the end of class the dean came over the intercom and asked for Schwartz to report to her office. Sighing he excused himself from class and went. As he entered the office Natalie was sitting in the opposing chair looking at the principal. He sighed and took a seat," Yes Dean?" "It was brought to my attention that you are currently taking a break from your teaching career?" He nodded, not even giving Natalie the time of day much less a look. "I see, well why may I ask?" "Studies, I was falling a it behind with them with grading so I decided to take a small break to catch up." She nodded," Very well, thank you- you are dismissed." He nodded to her saying good bye and left, not even acknowledging Natalie.

Claire paused mid step when he passed her, Matt saying the finishing verse to her before he left. Not only was she shocked to find he knew the poem, but his voice sounded so sad when he finished it. She knew the poem well, it was the story for her life it seemed. The way something or someone came into your life with such prospect of joy that despite the "mocking" of those around you, you can't see how much they really own you..till of course you lose them, them bringing in so much fear to the desolation they left, so that you might live again and begin life anew. She felt her control for a smile slipping over the light composure she held, the only thing keeping her from frowning being Posh who took up a place next to her. The two talked, but Claire wondered why it was that he looked so sad. Even through she had the whole lecture class to think on it, she still couldn't come up with much. So instead she decided to take the end of her class to walk the school courtyard and explore a little. When she found it was crowded with a class and also free period students, she stole away to a more peaceful part of the school where a large tree sat. She enjoyed the shade it brought, as well as the soft grass she laid on as she retrieved her book. Thumbing through a few pages she began reading more poetry, till of course Matt's face came to mind. Biting her lip, she looked up to the sky, wondering wether she should ask or not why he seemed so off. She remembered his smile, the sound of his voice as he explained the science to her, sounding so familiar like a professor would but on a different level than them. It was a nice, more relatable level..She blushed slightly to herself when she then thought of last night, his comment about her outfit. She shook her head quickly, trying to focus on her poetry but images of him kept bugging her. 'What's wrong with me..' She thought, feeling her forehead to see if she was ill. Her forehead was a little hot but most likely it was from the sunlight on her. It was then that the poem came back to her mind, especially when she found poem number 362 on the next page. She looked away from the book her eyes shutting momentarily so that she could get a good breath and clear her mind. She wasn't quite asleep but not exactly all there either, just trying to make sense of her priorities and the situations around her.

As she watched her sit there a deeper frown developed on her face. Natalie wasn't happy to see the girl of Matthew's new interest. Heading out side she put on a fake smile and ascended the hill. "Hey, sorry about earlier- you were the girl with Posh right? I'm sorry for yelling. Ive already talked to posh so she and I are cool." She said however she didn't talk to Posh at all, she just sent her to the Deans office. "Oh I love Poetry, mind If I sit with you? Its m free block." Her voice sounding sweet, she had a genuine smile how ever it wasn't for company it was to rip the girls head off. Matt saw Posh heading to the Dean's office," Why are you going to see the Dean? She left to a meeting half and hour ago."He looked at her a bit confused, but more pieces click with out even asking. He dropped his bag and sprinted out side looking around for Natalie or Claire, finding them both up a hill. His eyes got really really wide. "Claire?!" He called up the hill, a it panicked but he toned his voice right so it sounded almost impatient. "We were gonna study, you , me, n, Posh remember?" He said hoping to give Claire a hint of who she was talking to and what she wanted to do.

Claire jumped at the voice that was suddenly above her, her eyes opening to the sight of a rather pretty woman standing in front of her. And for some reason, this woman was speaking to her. It took her a few seconds to recognize her, when she did she got a small feeling of unease. This was that girl Posh was mad with and apparently Matt’s ex, Natalie right? What did she want with her at a time like this? ‘Oh…so her and Posh made up? That’s wonderful…but is she just trying to be friendly or something?’ Claire thought as she looked at Natalie’s smile and felt her unease only grow stronger. But Claire tried to see the good in everyone and would at least give Natalie the benefit of the doubt. After all, she didn’t do anything to Claire and for a bitch as Matt called her, she seemed to be attempting to be polite. “Yes…Poetry is my favorite. And I don’t mind, there’s plenty of space to go around.” She said, smiling back at Natalie with a rather shy one of her own. Meanwhile, Claire got to analyzing a bit of Natalie. Perfect hair, practiced smile, popular air about her, and a well-manicured look to her. She was obviously one of the girls that many envied for looks and possibly grades. Claire couldn’t help but feel rather plain next to her, especially when Matt arrived. He called out to her, his voice sounding annoyed. She was a bit confused as she looked up at him, till of course he mentioned studying. “Ah-Yeah-sorry!” She said getting to her feet with her things. She looked to Natalie then to the book of poetry in her hands before offering her the book. “Seems I can’t stay but this is a complete work of Dickinson, if you want you can just return it to me later…It was very nice to meet you, Natalie I believe? I’m Claire by the way...well goodbye.” She looked back down the hill at Matt and gave Natalie a small wave before making her way down to meet with him. “I’m sorry if I kept you two waiting long…I got a little distracted…” She said, unable for some reason to keep eye contact long with him. It made her feel slightly awkward, especially after she realized the reason she was distracted was because of him. She glanced up at him from the rim of her glasses, her eyebrows knitting together when she noticed he looked a little dismayed. “Is something the matter?” She asked, her voice suddenly quiet as she wasn’t sure whether or not he wanted her to mention it.

Natalie had just sat down when Matt called up the hill, her eyes got hard and she got a complex expression on her face. Looking back at Claire she smiled when the book was offered to her, seizing the opportunity to talk to her again she smiled and nodded in thanks," Thanks, I'll return it when I'm done." Matt didn't like this but it was her own fault. When she reached the bottom of the hill he let out a breath he had been holding. When she couldn't keep eye contact he looked slightly confused. 'Was she interested in girls? American girls were weird...' He made a mental note to ask Posh later. "Do I look bothered?" He said in a slightly shocked tone, mostly sarcastic. "Your hanging out with my ex. Of course I'm bothered."

Claire looked to Matt, slightly confused why he would care who she spoke to. Then again the relationship between them must have ended badly if it resorted in even Posh being angry with her. She flinched a bit at the sarcasm in his voice, her nervous nature getting the better of her and making her timid. "I'm sorry, but I couln't be rude. She just asked for a seat after all..." She said not wanting him to be mad or bothered with her over this. If it really made him annoyed then Claire had the feeling she wouldn't talk to Natalie again, just so he could smile and seem even a bit happier despite whatever was bothering him. "Um," She began but the sentance fell short as she looked at the school not to far from them. "We should go find Posh then. She might get annoyed if shewaits too long."
Posh picked up Matt's bag, staring after where he'd left. So Natalie had lied to her to get at Claire? Interesting, especially Matt's reaction. Like the white knight he was off to help the girl, who would most likely be oblivious to the fact that he actually thought or cared enough to want to keep Natalie's claws out of her. Posh shook her head and rolled her shoulders, trying to relax as she took off in a confident stride to the courtyard she could to see where they had run off too.

"Its what ever, yeah lets go find Posh." He said rather monotones as he stalked off to find her, he wasn't in the mood any more to do much. As they had come back into the main doors, they about ran into Posh. "Hey, You can study with Clarie, I need to run home and do some stuff. See ya." he took his bag from Posh and stalked off back out the door. He really wanted to break some stuff and he knew where he could, at his house. He hated Natalie for being such a prying bitch, she never knew when to let go. Getting in his car he drove a bit over the speed limit till he slammed it into park and got out in front of his house. Opening the door he realized the house was a mess from Natalie still. A frustrated feeling was swelling in his gut he really wanted to break some thing now. Turning he punched the wall, his hand spazing in pain, the door frame dented. He missed the dry wall and hit the wood, how stupid of him. Holding his hand at the wrist he cussed a bit, kicking some things then went into the kitchen to wrap his hand for now, he needed to clean then when the swelling hit he would go to the hospital. He hated stupid girls, and for Natalie to try and pry into his life right now or even ever again was not a good idea for her.
