At his comment about their status as companions she smirked at mention of trouble being a part of them. "It makes things more interesting." She said till he started asking to stop and grab some type of plant. Neve looked curiously at the plant he was pointing out. Her eyes dialated a moment at the shine coming from it and the wierd noise it made rang in her ears. The sound touched something inside her, something she recognized for some reason.... She was suddenly sucked back into a part of her mind that she rarely had access to, only in her nightmares usually. It was of a similar plant, infact the same one, only it was red and not green. Some sort of signifigance was placed on the plant but just what she couldn't understand... When she suddenly blinked at the sound of Atrious's voice, she looked up to him and saw the pleasing look on his face. She gave him a half smile and nodded. "Sure, just don't take too long." She said before watching him go to collect the Nurren root as he called it. She mulled over her thoughts a moment before she spoke up. "Aren't those suposed to be red?" She asked, hoping he could clarify what her mind was telling her.

Jumping off his horse he started collecting the small patch however tipped when she asked about its color. " well the red version only grows in the very cold mountain areas.... Snow caves and such... How would you know?" He asked hr curious as to his she would have know the other version of it- seeing as many didn't even know the plant.

Neve's brows furrowed when he told her about red ones, mostly because she had never been anywhere like very cold montains or snow caves. She sure as hell wasn't in a cave....So then why did she get the feeling she had seen a red version before? When asked how she would know, she tried to come up with an answer to explain her hunch. When she found none she decided to just tell him something. "I don't know to be honest...I guess I'm just smart." She said with a shrug, just not wanting to get into her blur of a past that even she didn't understand. "So these are useful in potions for you?" She asked, obviously changing the subject.

He smiled at her over his shoulder," Yes very useful.Come on- I've finished here- I've collected enough to not kill the small stash here." He got back on his horse ad they caught up easily he was slightly surprised to not have heard anything from Markus yet about gathering herbs and such again.

Neve was glad he seemed to pick up on the cue to leave the subject. Then again he had yet to really ask much of her, something she found rather refreshing. Usually the moment people met her they were asking her questions about her hair and why she was so pale, or even treating her badly because of her race and the fact she was associated with Khajiits. Then again, Atrious had his own skeletons. Atrious was an odd guy though after all. She rode her horse near Atrious, talking with his over a sparse few things. Markus, who seemed to still be annoyed with her for disobeing him in Morthal, finally came back to talk with her. She partially ignored him but put on an interested front for their benefit.
((Wanna skip a day or so or something? Got any ideas?))

((yeah))
They were about a days ride from their destination, that was a relief to Atrious. He was tired of the traveling for a short while. It had been pretty quite- he hadn't drank in a while not wanting to be an idiot here again. He however had gotten Neve alone a few times he was going to start explaining things but never got the chance since Markus was still trying to get her attention- the dumb Nord... Looking about he was that Markus was busy with the preparations to rather the city and Atrious smiled to himself,"Hey Neve...Can we talk? I have been avoiding things for the last few days- it think I can spare some answers to you since Mr. high and brawny is busy." He said referring to Markus. He wanted to explain some things to Neve before the city so when they got there- then to the college she would understand why he was treated so weirdly.

Neve was rather exhausted from days travel and having markus dote on her was begining to ware her out. She usually didn't mind flattery and people keeping her happy, but with this Nord she was already close to being done using him and didn't need his services for anything more than a guide to the mountains. Then she could leave with Atrious and they could be on their merry way. She was by herself at this point, thank heavens, and was stretching lightly to get the kinks and sore places out of her body. Since they had stopped, Markus was off chatting with his men, leaving ehr and Atrious alone. It seemed the elf took that chance and came over to her. Neve eased from her stretch and looked him in the eyes with a smile. "Okay, let's go take a walk hm?" She said, since she hardly wanted him to tell her things that might be sensative infront of all these people. She all but skipped in the snow till they got a good enough distance into the peak path that th others could hear her. Then she walked, turning to face him. "So, these answers you can spare...?" She asked open endedly since she was unsure about what she was getting ready to hear.

He smiled at how willing she was, following her along the pass a bit. When she turned around to look at him and asked he grinned," what are your questions, I've noticed you have some that I have been reluctant or just haven't been thereto answer. " he said looking about him more at the plants there. He wasn't sure what she was going to ask but be was willing to answer because she has promised to be his friend, he liked the idea of Gavin a friend.

Neve was glad he wanted to talk, however she still had the slight worry about what she might hear. Atrious could very well be a bad guy or something. Maybe have a past that would make himhated in her eyes. But she promised as a friend to at least give him her understanding. For that was all she really could give when she didn't know much about them. "Alright, just be warned I'm not holding back." She said before she took in a breath and thought about her question. She came to a stop and looked to him with slight curiousity. "What were you really looking for when you left the college Atrious? Why travel so far for something like a book? I mean...something doesn't add up." She said, bright blue eyes watching him for tell tale signs of a reaction, vocal changes or even shifts.

He exhaled," I was honestly tired of being treated differently...I wanted a challenge- I am a master in Destruction magic...I wanted some more challenges...and that book was my goal. Whats you next question?" He was getting right tot he root of things no longer sugar coating it for her- she wanted the truth so that's what it was. He was treated differently there because of what he was- and it bothered him.

Neve nodded though that only brought up another question that he led perfectly to. Perhaps this way she could also find out more about his father that he seemed to care for so much...And about the odd exchange with the silver Atronach. "And why are you treated differently?" She asked almost holding her breath in anticipating his answer. After all she wasn't sure if she would like what he said....

He was expecting her to ask that next, he smiled gently then looked at her, almost expecting her to walk away after the worlds came out of his mouth. "My father is a Dragon priest. I was with him until I was three before I got sent off the the college for my safety after his death. My mother was a rather odd sort...She nick name is given correct she is my guardian angel per say- as pure as snow...as silver as it as well. Most there called me an inbred elf cursed from my very conception. Because I am an anomaly they consider me cursed and stuck to to the edge of society- another reason I chose a darker skill set. However my father- Nahkriin- gave me this staff...to enhance my magic skills...I'm a dark being made of insanity and immorality...why wouldn't I be cursed and shunned by others who know the truth?" He told her everything it hurt him to say all over it even his little doubts he added. It was obvious in his voice as it was strained that it was work to get all this out in words- his thoughts on them very confused however he knew why others -well those who knew- shunned him. He was different.

Neve hadn't been expecting what came out of Atrious's mouth next. Her mouth fell open, partially enough that she was quickly able to make her mouth close. She couldn't be one sided here or judge him on this...not even if his father was one of the most dangerous forces known to Skyrim. Every explorer knew the tale of the dragon priests. They were men blessed by dragons magic because of their faithfulness to Alduin, the World Eater. They were powerful men that practically ruled Skyrim. The nine men the central powers for the dragons over the mortal men. But then that made him....so old....And his mother? So what he had called the Atronach...it really was his mother. How that exactly worked or happened she didn't know but she assumed it must have made things hard for him. It was already rough for her being half Nord and half elf, but to be half dangerous magical entities.... "But you don't follow those teachings right?"She said swallowing hard and not looking away from him. She could tell this was hard for him to say and she had forced him to speak. She wanted him not to regret speaking to her about this. "I turst you Atrious. You haven't given me a reason not to. But I need to ask..." She said refereing to her earlier question. "The Jarl back in Morthal said you spoke something in dragon. I was condused at first but now it kinda makes sense huh..." After all if he was the son of a dragon priest he would speak dragon too right?

"No- I do not follow blind where my father had... And yes I do know a shout or so... MY father taught me them." He was silent for a second before he couldn't help but smile,"Do a few things make a bit more sense yet?" He was more or less saying it in a joking tone but ti was a honest question. "But that was another reason I didn't travel much...I was told every one would treat me the same...thanks kinda why I made you promise... So I would have at least one friend in this plane of existence and that I could prove them wrong..." His eyes had traveled to the ground by now- looking at the detail in the snow trying to single out a detailed snow flake.

Neve breathed out a light sigh, her breath forming a cloud, though she had folded her arms a sign that she was thinking hard about something. He spoke then of tavel and how he was told he would be alone forever, that no one would accept him... It drew a wierd response from her, a sort of heart tug that made her throat feel funny for a moment. The bit about the friend and the making her promise took the cake however and finally made her speak. "And as I've said..I promised to listen to you didn't I. Friends listen." She raised her three fingers to her lips in remembrance of the promise she made. However in it she felt a rather tough smile worm its way into her expression."Shouts...dragon words...and your past...mine...I supose things can't make much sense now can they?" She shook her head still looking at him though he looked down still. "I'd be lying if I said I wasn't shocked or concerned a bit about this. But after you've protected me and not failed to treat me well, I couldn't...leave. Sorry if I'm not handling this all quite right..." She said biting her lip lightly since she was a bit unsure how to take the news. She knew Atrious wasn't his parent and that he was a good guy. He had always been kind to her and helped her, never giving her reason to be scared of him. But if he was involved with dark magic, he could easily get sucked into that world easily. Was that something she was willing to put herself into to help him, her friend?
