When he motioned to the crowd about them she smirked, thinking he was offering her people. She knew he wasn't but she couldn't help the childish thought. They went about a group talking loudly and one was even yelling, but she simply followed along with Darius there to lead her away from the problematic things. her mind was a happy medium until he was asked how she had been, which she did her best not to frown instead made a neutral face. "Things have been interesting to say the least. My father has a sense of humor it seems, thought I don't agree with it. There for I don't actually accept it- how things are that is. How have you been? You don't look tired! Have you been sleeping better" She asked changing the subject suddenly because she really didn't want to bring it up to him. She didn't look at him however hoping he wouldn't catch her frowning expression that showed threw when she thought of the mans' face that she was going to be forced to marry. She was going to try and get her self out of it of course but she doubted she would be able to.

The news of her father's humor was an interesting way of wording whatever was bothering her. He noticed her smile had faded, but he wouldn't ask. It wasn't his place to ask and honestly he learned with his sister than when women didn't want to talk about something, it was best not to press them till they made it obvious they wanted to talk. He wasn't out to piss off a woman that he had an interest in. He blinked when she suddenly switched the topic to him, commenting that he didn't look tired. Right, he hadn't been back to working his usual for two days now. Had he been sleeping well? He smiled, since it was alright to talk about him, especially since he was glad he wasn't asleep on his feet like he sometimes felt. "Well, after the festival Ysold called in a favor. I missed the longer days work, though I guess it was a good thing." He then looked over his shoulder at the docks not far off, noticing that they were busy as ever. Seems people were eager to work with news of this new tax. He shrugged it off since he wasn't worried, at least not yet...The temple was not far from where they were and he could see it looked fairly docile today. Most people saved their worship for the weekends. "I haven't been inside a place like this for fun in a while. Not since the brief step in during the festival..." He told her, looking at the beautiful building that was decorated to resemble a palace. It was a place the gods would be proud of, or at least that was what his father would say every time they went by it on their way to the docks.

When he began speaking about how he had been taking it easy lately since it was after the festival. With a light smile she nodded that his friend had called in a favor of sorts. "Its good to see your friend is taking a good interest in your health. It makes me glad." She said with a returning smile as they got closer to the temple. There weren't many people there today so she was a little excited about this, since she preferred less people. Her eyes went over the beautiful stone work, the carvings and mosaics that were in the floors and the walls to add color there. She loved visiting temples, since they were quiet, beautiful, and always made her feel a bit at peace there in the gardens. They bowed at the alter at the entrance, then continued into the halls towards the middle garden scape. The large gardens were pretty this year, seeing that they had added a rose feature near the back of it she was curious to get a look at. She slipped her arm from his, but caught his hand in hers before leading him threw the garden sections to wards the back. She would look at the other things after since she loved flowers but she wanted to see this new thing, and she wanted to share it with Darius. When they got to the arch she couldn't help that her breath caught and she had to stop walking to look at it. The large archways, a small table under it, holding a small water feature- the white roses climbing the sides and weaving into the latus above it, making it seem like a canopy of of roses. She let her hand fall from him and she skipped forward to run her fingers along the top of the water there, her hair getting into her face a bit but she brushed it aside with a smile. She didn't know roses could be white, such a pure color- prefect for the temple. She wanted some now however for her garden, wondering for a moment if she could ask the gardener for a clipping...

Darius noted her words about being glad for his health, but he was more interested in the fact she let go of his arm when the temple came into view. He was unsure if she let go due to the public eye or if she suddenly felt uncomfortable, but she surprised him by instead grabbing his hand. She dragged him off to the temple, though his long legs let him cath up easily enough and take up stride with her. She led the way and he let her, because she knew what it was she wanted to see. They spared time for tradition, the courtesy bow at the altar infront of the gods offerings but their time there was sparing. By the time he bobbed back up they were on their way through archways to an open garden that looked to be out of a painting. It was lush and well kept, full of colorful flowers and plant life that looked radiant in the direct sunlight. He was intruiged, more soybean he had been by the simple mosaics. However, another captivating sight in the garden was Anemone. She looked like a kid in a candy shop, her attention flitting around her till it fell on an archway wih a standing pool beneath it. Her awe at the roses entwined in the lattice was moment of pause for Darius. He had never seen someone so happy for something like a garden. The women he dealt with once clammored over themselves for trinkets and finery, while Andmone was taken by white roses...the idea was so different to him, he couldn't help but smile as he hung back and let her play with the water. She almost seemed to blend in wih these flowers, a delicate air about her as she smiled so fondly at the fragile living things she had an affinity for. "It's beautiful. I can see why you wanted to come here." He went over to the arch, touching a rose there that was in full bloom. She was admiring them so, he would have to get her one maybe later... "I've never seen this place before. How did you find out about it?" He asked, looking to her to perhaps learn a bit more. It was obvious she loved the flowers, but he was wondering if she loved them because of her deity or because of something more personal.

She heard his words but only just so, her mind was wrapped up in the beautiful flowers before her. When he got closer her eyes went to him and she smiled, liking how they were both pretty things there in the garden, the roses and Darius. When asked about how she knew about the garden she blushed a bit embarrassed about her obsession of flowers. "I have always like flowers and nature. So when I was young the priest here used to take me for walks in the garden and I stop by every so often to see the gardens- they have a new flower every year." She said giving a bit of background where it was needed. She turned her head away from him since she wanted to hid her blush and she went back to the water but looked at the roses above her there. "And what do you think of the roses Darius?" She asked him wondering if he was even interesting in her little obsession but she wouldn't mind if he wasn't.

Her blush when asked about her little passion drew a smile from him since it was rather cute on his light olive skin. She was speaking softly, telling him of a story of her wandering the gardens with a priest as a child. It was a cute little image of a young Anemone hurrying along the flowers to get a look at the new one for the year. As a woman now, it was a rather beautiful sight to see her among a few loose petals that fell into her long hair. He was curious why he was paying this much attention to her, finding himself actually thinking a blue rose would suit her better, but he squashed that thought when she asked him what he thought. What he thought wasn't something he should voice since , so he would stick to the answer he could give her. "I think they are pretty. I haven't seen something so white, almost like snow from the mountains...honestly I never really thought of flowers as something special." He said before resting forward to brush one of the petals from her hair. "But with you here I think I'm starting to like them a lot more. " He said before he gave her raise of his brow. "So you like the white roses...show me your favorites. I want to know more about them." He was trying to get her out of that shy she'll since she lit up when she was talking about them only a moment ago. It made him feel her joy when she talked about something she was fond of since her expression, no matter how composed, seemed to give way to her feelings and thoughts that she didn't seem all that afraid to share around him. He liked that...

His voice was calming and soft, she liked how it sounded. When he mentioned flowers so white they reminded him of snow she had to agree, she hadn't seen many. She froze when she felt his hand touch her hair, looking at him from over her shoulder, a small shocked expression on her features. His words however as he continued speaking make her heart pound, her middle fill with fluttering butterflies. He was liking things more with her simply being around them, him to be more correct. She noted how he was looking at her and she honestly didn't really know what to say in response to his words. They were so soft and sweet- she couldn't imagine any other words bringing happiness to her that day. When has asked about her favorites she smiled at him, trying to step past her speechlessness. "I- well, come over here..." She stuttered a bit before she got her grip on her words agian. Anemone lead Darius by the hand over to a smaller section of the garden- the older part it seemed since it was behind the roses that had been added. There were older looking rocks however there was a cactus there what had long stringy limbs and a few white bulbs on them but the flowers were close din the day light. She smiled at it lightly before looking over at Darius. "These are night blooming cactus...These little flowers are stunning and just as white as the roses, this plant is one of the oldest plants here...Its one of my favorites besides my own little name sake, but I think the garden suits you." She said at the end but looked a bit surprised that she said it herself. She hadn't meant to say it out loud but she knew she couldn't take it back now that it had already left her lips.

Darius found he got a stutter out of her for saying something he thought. Maybe it was wrong of him to say something that hinted at what really caught his eye in this garden--or who he should say...But it felt nice to do something as simple as flirting with a pretty woman and if all else failed, being honest with her might lead to a friendship at least. He could use someone to talk to beyond the few that still accepted him. She didn't know all that much about him, only the darker bits and what she could affirm from sight...but he'd be willing to tell her more perhaps... When she suddenly pulled him over to a new section of the garden, he observed the weird looking plant that she spoke about. A cactus flower that only bloomed at night...how did he find that funny how well that suited her. A reclusive little flower that bloomed for those that were patient enough to get to know her... He was curious to see this flower now and would have to come back again with her perhaps. One night in the future to see it bloom. He was surprised at his own thinking, mostly because he knew better than to hope for things that were left to chance like that. They almost never worked in anyone's favor. He was drawn from his thoughts when Anemone made a stranger yet bold statement. They sure were in the habit of making those... It drew a smirk frown him, a laugh coming to his voice as he asked, "That's a first. How so?" He was humored by the fact he had been thinking the same about her. She fit within nature, almost because of her personality but also the subtleness of her beauty. The plants almost seemed more alive around her, the flowers brighter and the air here so much fresher. It might have been his imagination, but it was cool to think she had that kind of influence...

At his mention on how the garden best suited him she knew she had slipped up and had to explain things now. She took a deep breath and gave him a lightly embarrassed smile," What I meant to say was that the garden is full of pretty things..." She said as she turned away and went to look at a few other flowers to avoid his look. Her cheeks a bright pink, she looked at a pretty yellow flower that was standing tall- a sun flower as she knew them by. They were tall and majestic, stalks think and sturdy against the wind. "This one is pretty, but i have yet to find some one it resembles honestly, no one I know is that tall." She said as she changed the topic again hoping to distract him since her cheeks were burning.

Darius wasn't sure how to respond to her admittance of her falter of words, her blush telling him that she meant more than what was on the surface of her words. In a garden full of flowers, she was saying he suited the prettiness? Was she calling him pretty? It was a bit of a comparison he wasn't sure he understood but it was definitely the first time in a while someone even hinted that he was attractive. Sure the whores he was around often with Ysold made teasing remarks and flirted but that was their job. He had been told he was attractive by his mother when he was younger and finding him a proper wife was a priority. Now his looks didn't matter all that much... He moved to look at the sun flowers, his attention on the way the petals resembled the rays of the sun. It was such a happy flower and honestly he was surprised Anemone hadn't found someone to fit it yet. "The more fun for you. Someone's bound to come along and make you think of it. I have to say it's interesting that your able to match people up with a flower. You give it personality no one expects. Do you find flowers for everyone?" He asked, wondering if she was able to characterize everyone that way. The way she made his flower sound was worlds different from how she characterized her own that night after all. What exactly was her system for that and reason?

When asked if she found a flower for everyone she nodded slowly," Its the best way for me to connect with others really. I like flowers better, I know more about them then I honestly do with other people so I like to think of them as such." She said with a hint of a smile as she reached up a hand to touch the petals for a moment before pulling her arm back down. She did spare a glance at him wondering what he had thought of her words about him being suited for a garden since he was so beautiful like that plants there. She hadn't mean to call him pretty but to mean that she enjoyed being there with him, and enjoying his company all the more since he was always honest with her. "So do you like gardens? Even If its just me wanting to hear that you do?" She said her tone slightly on the teasing side as a priest past them and smiled at them and how carefree they were at the moment.

So she compared people to flowers to connect to them? That was one way of thinking, but it definitely made him wonder why it was she felt like people weren't her forte. He had always been a people person. He liked being able to talk and share ideas, especially with those he felt were of a good mind. She was one of those people that he initially liked for their voice and he wondered if maybe these feelings that she wasn't good with people was just in her head. After all she spoke with him just fine. He watched her touch the petal and was sure that was part of the reason for her smile. As if reacting to her touch, the breeze stirred the petals like the flower was happy for the contact. Her question drew a look from him that was thoughtful till he gave her a humored smile. "Hm, I'm tempted to say yes." He joked back, as if he would tell her what she wanted to hear, but he wasn't a man that liked that sort of senseless lying. "Well I can't say I ever really had much to do with them growing up. My mother was more drawn to people, my father loved the ports and my sister was always indoors with some new fascination in the arts. We only got out to go to functions and meetings, parties occasionally." He said but shrugged those thoughts off for his point in all this talk. "But I'm glad though that I got to come here with you, since you have such a passion for it...I have more of an appreciation for it myself now, that's for sure." He said, not even noticing the priest since he was currently wrapped up in speaking with her. "There is a lot of work that must go into all this, to make it function properly...like a ship. That may be a far off reference but it's the only thing I really have to compare it to." He said since her fascination with gardening was sort of how he felt just being around the ocean and boats. He loved it, even if it had been his father's passion as well. It was just something in his genetics perhaps, even if Nemsis was an air deity...

She listened to his tone and how is was simple yet sad, but once he began speaking of ships and the ocean it lightened. He must have had a passion for sailing, the large majestic boats she had caught a glance of once or twice did make her curious but her garden was where she knew she belonged. She had a calm expression as she thought about his comparison and then nodded. "Its not too far off, A ship requires maintenance just like a garden, it requires attention- the weeds need pulling, plants trimming and stems stabilized. A flower could be a sail- both are made to show or to move things, a boat uses the air just as a flower does surely...I think its a good comparison Darius." She said trying to reason things out with him with his comparison so he could see it how she did. She smiled back at the priests but her attention was stolen when a few people came into the gardens accompanied by a priest, a different one. Her eyes scanned them and she shrugged, She didn't really know them and they were inpeeding on her time with Darius, something she didn't want to give up. Turning her attention back to him she smiled, slipping her arm into his and pulled him a little ways off to the side by a large bush with great purple flowers, ants there trying to help the flower bloom more as she saw them scurry about over the unopened blooms. She hoped it wasn't obvious she didn't want to be bothered by the new people but she wanted to move on to a new flower. "This one is pretty but it attracts too many ants for my true liking...its like people to the rich- the have all the money but most make them work to get any of it, I think things should be more fair but with things and how they are changing...My father says I should stay in for a while in case things get dark." She said in a bit of a sad tone but it was what she had heard from her father and she felt she could share it with Daruis. "I try not to get involved in politics and what not, I just want to be happy. Like a little flower in my garden, they have the right so why can't we?" She asked not really thinking of her word of her statement however she didn't find herself bothered by it. She beamed at him a bright smile hoping he understood where she was coming from. The society didn't take kindly for women to be in politics or power in any way, and she simply wanted it to disappear honestly. It brought on nothing but fighting and problems, they should just let things be as they naturally were meant to be. At the thought of politics her mind went to her new predicament and she half frowned, she didn't want that spoiling her day with Darius, but it seemed to be coming back as she thought about little tings associated with it.

At Anemone approving of his comparison, he gave her a half smile. It was considerate of her to work on his level of understanding of something he knew little to nothing about. Her comparison's were funny in a way but he took them as her true thoughts and kept the humor out of his look. He instead opted for a bit of curiosity when he saw more people coming into the garden. Were they around for simple pleasure like they were? His attention on them was short lived because soon he looked down at Anemone when she put her arm around his. He followed with her pulling him along since he assumed she saw something that interested her more. He didn't mind really since he did ask to see what she liked out of this garden. He looked over the flower she pointed out, though he was interested to find out why all the ants were fighting to get into the flower. Her comparison that this reminded her of the poor and rich was enough to make him look to her however. Her sad tone when saying such things about equality made him curious just how much she really understood. He got his answer soon enough when she pointed out she wanted little to do with politics. Everyone had their opinions of the system. He was never a fan of how things were run, but he understood the necessity of it. He also understood that inequality was a stigma for most thriving nations. "If things were fair, there would be a lot of men walking around with crowns on their heads and a false sense of entitlement." He said, quoting something his father once told him. People would always abuse the system and most couldn't handle the idea that their servants were people too, that a farmer bled the same way a nobleman did...It was even harder to convince the courts of the necessity of aiding people they believed to be back bone of their labor. "I've met very few people that think on the rights of other's, let alone voice them. It's refreshing." He gave her a light smile, since he wouldn't go into politics with her since she didn't seem to care for them. She went into an idea of just being happy, he wondered a moment just what she truly meant by wanting to be happy. There were so many ways the feeling of happiness could go... "Then be happy. What's stopping you?" He asked, a point blank question that was just his usual bluntness. It was an honest question though. She had the means to be happy but there must have been things that she felt took away from her being 'happy'.

When so easily asked why she couldn't be happy her frown became full, not just a partial one, she didn't look at him however. 'If she told him about the sudden engagement- would he leave her be? Would he disappear-or be harsh to her? no...he wouldn't be harsh with her- she had no control of this and it was more then obvious, but she wasn't sure about him leaving her...' She was quiet a few moments thinking of what to tell this man, about how she couldn't just go out and be happy. However a rather bold thought struck her- but she wasn't sure if she should, what if he rejected her? Brows pulled in, she looked to be thinking hard, the frown making her face seem almost upset. Letting a sigh pass her lips she finally looked up at him her mind made up. Her face was set in a perfect straight laced look, no frown, no furrowed brow, a slight smile on her lips as she looked his face over. "My happiness will upset others, I don't really want that but at the same time I do..." She said quietly, her tone soft as she spoke her thought on that. She however took her arm from his and slipped her hand in his, her cheeks getting pink as she looked down after the action finding it too forward for her but she was trying to put into words what she was saying about her happiness. Being there with him, Darius- a beautiful dock worker who was made of finer material then the poor class. She didn't know his deity but she didn't care, he was a good man to her, protected her and was kind, she liked talking to him even, his honesty a fresh thing to her. He was attractive, strong, smart, social, beautiful inside and out to her- he hadn't given her a reason to hate him, she liked him- a first in her book since she rarely found this kind of natural beauty here. It wasn't as shallow as for just his looks so she hoped he had more interest in her then just that...but she figured it was some things more.
