]((ALRIGHTY THEN! This is the opening post. Since there are still PLENTY of spots to fill anyone is still welcome to join at ANY time. Alright, I found a site with basic info on all things Hunger Games: thehungergames.wikia.com/wiki/The_Games )) Was it fear that silenced the forest around her? Talise couldn't tell. She could only run as fast as her feet were carrying her through the dense brush of the humid forest of exotic plants. This forest path had once been a happy path for her to follow and led to so many of her best memories. Now it only held an ominous sense of danger for what was to come. Fynn, her older brother, was ahead of her, his long legs pushing him forward with incredible speed that she could keep up with but not quite overtake. He’d always been the fastest in their family, something that used to bug the hell out of her. Now it was a reason for relief. Had he not had the gift of stealth, there would have been no hope of getting as far as they already had. They would have still been standing in the town square with all the other valid participants of the Hunger Games, watching the Reaping progress as it did every year. It always began with the District Mayor reading the history of Panem, a country that rose out of the destruction of what was once North America and became a mighty nation ruled by the Capitol and the twelve Districts that surrounded it. A war began, sparked out of hatred for the overly powerful Capitol, pitting to the Districts against the Capitol. It was a gruesome year of fighting, only for the Districts to be defeated. For their treason, the people were given a grave punishment, a reminder for what became known as the Dark Days. They were given the Hunger Games. The rules of the Hunger Games are simple. In punishment for the uprising, each District (excluding the Capitol and its citizens) must send one man and woman as tributes to participate. The twenty-four tributes were then taken to an outdoor arena in the Capitol, one that was a vast, dangerous world of its own who’s features and wildlife that existed there were designed to test the tributes survival. Over several weeks, in front of cameras and audiences at home in their Districts and in the Capitol, they fought to the death till only one remained. The last tribute standing won. It was humiliating and torturous, pitting District against District, partner against partner, and they turned it into a sporting event, a festivity for the Capitol and its people. The winner of the Games even won prizes; a life of ease back home, food and gifts to the people of their District, while the other Districts fought off starvation as they always had. In the 74 years the Hunger games had been established, only 18 of the victors had been from her District, one of the most famous, Finnick Odair (Fan girl giggle). “Good evening citizen’s of District 4.” District 4’s Capitol Representative said as she took her place at the podium by the Mayor. Her short pink hair wascurled and her makeup was done to gaudy perfection to match with her flamboyant green suit (her gaudiness is a trade mark of her status as a person from the Capitol), “let us begin with the drawing of the names of our tributes. To all the contestants in line for this honor, I wish a Happy Hunger Games! And may the odds ever be in your favor!” She reaches to her left into a large glass bowl sitting on the table filled with slips of cards with names on them. “Let us begin with our boys!” She plucked a paper from the bowl and read aloud with perfect articulation in her sugary voice, “Kai Calder!” A boy stepped from the crowd and a few short cheers errupted from a few of the men around him, most likely the healthy majority that supported the Games. However, Talise hadn’t paid him much mind. She was too busy hugging her older brother with happy relief that his name hadn’t been drawn. It was his last year as an involuntary tribute, meaning unless he volunteered, he didn't have to participate in the Hunger Games. “Alright now for our girls!” She reached into the bowl at her right, her fingers plucking a card buried deep within the pile. There were thousands there, that number gave Talise a false sense of hope. The representative from the Capitol looked over the card then proceeded to read aloud the name she had drawn for the citizens and the Peacekeepers (Peacekeepers are a type of brutal, military style police force for the Capitol that are the authority in the districts) in the district, as well as for the cameras that connected the entire population of the Capitol and the surrounding districts to the event from their TV’s. No sooner had the name left her lips, Fynn had hold of a shell shocked Talise and was sprinting for the nearest escape. That escape happened to be through the jungle like area that surrounded their District and lead to the South Shore. Talise knew their only option was to run now. There was no way out of this District, not unless they could either swim away or hop the immense electric bordered fence/mine field that surrounded the coastal District’s border. They would be caught soon and then be forced to face punishment for an act of defiance to the Capitol, a fate worse than death. The sharp crack was the first thing she heard before she was snatched backwards, a shriek escaping her lips. It was a net that enclosed around her, sucking the air right out of her as it hoisted her roughly into the air. "FYNN!" She screamed as he slid to a halt and ran back towards the small stealth plane, a Peacekeeper's craft that held her captive. She heard a click behind her and realized that something bad was getting ready to happen and it was aimed at Fynn. “No-Fynn, run!” She protested but he still reached out for her. She could only strain her outstretched arm, pleading for her hand to take his. But it was for nothing. The awful sound that followed next, the blood that spattered on her face, and the sight that left her staring in horror, it all numbed her to the world around her. She was frozen stiff and couldn’t feel the hands on her arms or the needle plunge into her back that consumed her world in darkness. ~~~The Capitol The humming of noise around her slowly brought Talise back to reality. She let out a groan of pain at her small headache and her face scrunched up in frustration. Where was she? This didn’t feel like her bed back home? Had she passed out while fishing on the dock with her brother? At the thought of her brother images hit her, ones that her brain was too hazy at the moment to decipher. "She's waking up." A sickeningly sweet voice made her jump as her eyes ripped open to find two people staring at her. She bolted up quickly but slumped from the dizziness. The room-well actually the inside of the van she was riding in-spun around her for a moment, making a young man with strange red hair that looked to be in his late teens scoff, "Don't worry sweet heart. We ain't here to kill ya." She blinked at him noticing the color of his skin and the way that he carried himself. He was confident, that much was obvious by the way he sat leaning back in the seat, his arms behind his head, with a smile on his lips. She stared at him silently, her face portraying no emotion in her numb state. His lip twitched a little at her cold eyes. “That was just a joke.” He said with an awkward raise of his brow, but that only made her turn her eyes to the other passenger in the car. The lady across from her, that looked more like a pixie with her short pink hair, frowned at Talise. She recognized her face from somewhere but couldn’t bring it to mind. Something was blocking it from her memory. "Yes well, after that stunt you pulled at the Reaping I'm surprised you weren't dead." She snipped and Talise gave her a blink of confusion. The woman noticed the slight showings of confusion in her face and gave Talise a huff. “You and your brother bolted from the ceremony-not the first runners of course-but still it was very rude of you. Thank heavens the cameras hadn’t panned to you just yet. It took us hours of editing to cover up your screw up.” Talise froze, her stomach churning painfully as the memories flooded back to her. Reality was back, she remembered everything that had happened, everything down to the seconds before she had blacked out...She felt tears coming to her eyes but quickly quelled them. She refused to cry in front of these two. She saw the boy give the woman a roll of his eyes before he and Talise locked eyes. She was watching him because she remembered his face. He was the male tribute, Kai Calder. And she....she was the female tribute, Talise Leith. She tried to control the nausea that bubbled in her stomach at the thought. She simply looked down at the floor to evade their stares, yet she could still feel their eyes boring into her head. “But no matter. My job is to make sure you make the best impression possible these next few days. What with your unveiling tonight, training observations, the live interview tomorrow, and your overall look in general being less than desirable, I’m here to make you a star tribute!” The woman she now remembered as her District’s Capitol representative, was now grinning at her, looking almost like a woman admiring the mannequin for a new dress. It made Talise uncomfortable extremely so. “Wh-Where are we?” Talise finally said, finding her voice was weak from lack of use. Just how long had she been out? “Why, just take a look outside the window dear! You’re in the Capitol.” One look out the window of the car only confirmed her fears. She was in the heart of the Capitol city. “We’re on our way to get you two prepared for the Games.” She said in full enthusiasm that made Talise’s eyes narrow. She simply looked out the window of the car, her mind wandering as the District Rep. rambled on. She looked out at the glittering city around her and found herself wanting to wake up and have this just be a nightmare. But she knew there was no relief in waking. She knew that it was better to stay dreaming that she really was in her bed at home, that she wasn’t trapped in the web of the Capitol’s control, that her brother would be there waiting for her--She sucked in a breath, feeling tears coming but she held them back. The truth was that no matter how depressing, her dreams were better, better than the reality that she was only just a piece in Capitol’s game. ~~~ Kai watched the young girls face, her eyes showing her pain past her mask of stone. The tears that seemed on the brim of pouring from her eyes tugged at something inside of him. It was the need to protect that he had gained from years of experience...He wanted to reach out to the girl, to comfort her and tell her that things would work out. But he reigned himself in, knowing full well that she didn’t want his words of soothing or sympathy, not just yet at least. The car came to a halt outside a building that looked like a rather plain building. Outside was a large glowing sign that said Remake Center. Kai was confused by this stop but kept his curiosity to himself. The District Rep. was the first one out of the car, the next her Peacekeeper guardians and then the tribute male. He stepped out and reach for Talise, “Come on, let’s get you down.” She gave him a sniff and shook her head to refuse his help. He gave her a small look she didn’t quite understand, before he picked her up by her waist and placed her on the ground next to him. She looked at him with a silently annoyed look, but he simply smiled at her and followed close behind her and the others. They walked inside a pair steel doors that slammed behind them audibly and locked. It made Talise jump beside Kai, who tensed in response. He looked around him but the Peacekeeper’s behind them didn’t make a move. Only Effie walked forward, toward a receptionist desk that was situated into the center of the art deco styled room. He was prepared to act if he needed to but ...Then again he didn’t know exactly where they were at the moment. During the train ride from District 4 he had heard the District Rep, Effie, talking about the plans for that day. He’d heard bits and pieces but all of it only confirmed what he already knew. Things were going to be hectic for the next few days... But he couldn’t concern himself with the time he had. He just needed to focus on the tasks and keep his mind busy on other things. To evade his thoughts, he looked to the girl next to him. Talise stood hugging herself, staring at the room mutely. She looked more like a doll than a human being with even a pulse. Kai gave her a half frown. So this emotionless fragile little creature was supposed to be his partner in the Games? That didn’t sit well at all with him. He was just about to say something to her, to see if he could break that bubble of silence around her, but was cut off by Effie shouting at the women working behind the desk. “What do you mean we’re early?! This is just-appalling. I’ll have you know we are right on time-!” She gave a sigh and turned to her tributes with an annoyed look. “No matter, we’ll just wait with those that are here for the rest to show up. Then we will go over the rules and procedures.” She walked up to the two and placed her hands on both their backs, pushing them towards a door way. “Let’s go to the auditorium, children.” She walked over to a pair of double doors. Kai and Talize followed uneasily, and Kair looked around the room. The auditorium was a large square room with white carpeted floors and window walls that looked out to the city. It wasn’t a spectacular view but it was enough to make Kai start to feel his nerves begin to fray. Talise was still in that cold emotionless state so he was unable to test her to see what her reaction was to all this. He gave a small clearing of his throat before looking to Effie. “Effie Trinket?” He said and she gave him a surprised look, like she was shocked he knew her name. “Yes?” She asked in that bubblegum voice and Kai gave her small frown of confusion. “Why are we here?”She gave a loud twittery laugh, one that made Talise cringe at it. Kai gave Effie a steady look. He was a lot harder to annoy. “Dear boy, you’re being prepared for the Opening Ceremony. Come now, you must have seen it on the television in your district when you were a child. You think they just show up in those amazing outfits and make up?” He remembered this from watching the games on the tv. It was like a big parade at first, the tributes of each Districts were presented to the President of Panem, Snow, and praised by the Gamemakers. It was a long ordeal but just a start to the first three days of the Pre-Games. There was a lot more to come. But that still didn’t quell his shock that they were actually going to be made dress up for this. Both Talise and Kai had faces full of shock but Effie didn’t seem to notice over herself talking. “This is my favorite part to be honest-what with the clothes, the stylists, and the grand chariot ride down the main street! It’s all just wonderful!-AH but enough of that, I don’t have time to dally! I must check in on your stylists to see if they're ready!” She bustled out of the room, leaving Talise and Kai to themselves. Kai gave a sigh when she was gone, stretching his arms over his head to relieve some of the stress that had been pent up inside him. He looked around and saw there were a couple others in the large room with them, but they all kept to their pairs, far away from the others. It was as silent as a tomb in the room. “Well I wasn’t expecting this-then again I wasn’t expecting any of this.” He said in a laugh but it awkwardly dropped when Talise didn’t even seem to acknowledge him. He relaxed from his stretch and his lips formed a soft smile. “So...I’m Kai, Kai Calder.” He said rather cheerfully, offering his hand to shake Talise’s. She flinched at the hand and looked up at him with cold eyes. He didn’t let them affect him and continued to look at her with the same smile, his hand still offered out to her. Talise was silent another long moment before she took his hand and gave it a light squeeze before quickly pulling away. “I’m Talise...Talise Leith.” Though it wasn’t exactly an immaculate change, he did notice her shoulders looked a lot more relaxed. It was a working progress and he knew things would never be totally normal for anyone there, but a little normalcy went a long way, perhaps long enough to save a life or two for at least another day... ((ALRIGHTY, now that that's done, time for me to explain. I'm trying to get all charas in one area then I'll throw everyone their seperate ways till they are actually together again in the Opening Ceremony and in the Training Center. All I ask is if your first post ends your chara ends up in the auditorium in the Remake Center, plz thnx.))

(( I was goofing around and I found some thing interesting to do so when u figure out your charys and stuff squirrel lemme know... I'll make yours )) "Your really going to make me do that when the the drawling is today are you?" "Absolutely, I'm not the only one who needs to clean this house...We both live in it together you know." He sighed and began picking up his dirty clothes off the floor, he didn't care for cleaning he thought it was what his wife wanted. "You look stunning today." He commented as he put an armful of clothes into the hamper. The hamper beeped ans it began to sort out the colors. His wife had a short dress on, pale blue, and a nice pair of shoes. She had two presents under her arms as well as a Electric current tester, she never left home with out one. "Aw, thanks Mikk, I always love how you can make me feel so special. You almost ready to go?" "Of course." He said as he straightened his tie in the mirror then turned and gave her cheek a light kiss. Opening the door for her, a hand on her lower back leading her out into the semi- busy street where they were all headed to the center of town for the ceremony. Coming to a stop they glanced a a girl that was on the back corner of the gathering who was looking down at her now wet clothes, her electronics safe because of a waterproof upgrade- thank fully-They continued on to the group just ahead. Amelia sighed and swatted Mikk, "Go give her your jacket, That's rude to leave a girl in a state like that..." He smiled at Her and took off his jacket and approached the girl. She glanced up at him and gave a flirty smile, " Well some one has some decency at least. " She almost purred as she let out an annoyed sigh as she shook some water from her arms and hands. She unwrapped her hair from the buns she had them in and rang them out. She took the guy's jacket with a smile, " Thanks. I appreciate your hospitality Mister. I hope this goes in our favor, so we may return home safely." she said with a smile and went to stand closer to the podium, as she made her way threw the crowd to get closer where her age group was supposed to be. He made his way back to Amelia and smiled at her. " She is fine. I just hope this goes quickly so we can get back. I got a bad feeling about something...""Greeting! District 3 to the Hunger games selection ceremony! Shall we get started?! But first I wish to say to all the contestants in line for this honor, I wish a Happy Hunger Games! And may the odds ever be in your favor!” Said the smooth male voice out of the gaudy looking man from the stage up ahead. There were two bowls there with thousands of names there, it was odd, Mikk felt uneasy like today wasn't his day- He would have felt better not coming today but his wife insisted, she found some ungodly interest into the hunger games, ever since her family came form the Capitol, her father wanted a career change and so she went with. Since she excelled her she stayed and married him of all people but who was he to complain. The man in the bright Blue suit with lime green trim on it reached into the girl's bowl. Most the girls were stiff backed at this- the younger ones any how. "Candez Meyer! Congratulations!" He looked around to see who it was and it was a girl who had long blue hair, she was wet with a suit jacket on, his jacket. She stood there froze like a child chosen for death which wasn't too far from the mark. A group of men in white suits from the capital took her by both her arms and escorted her to the stage. She couldn't walk but a few people gave her encouraging shouts of support and a few people started crying., Likely her family but he wasn't too sure. The man smiled as she was placed at the stage between two guards, 'one down one to go...' the man thought. "Now for the boys!" He reached a gloved hand into the bowl and picked on right off the top, he didn't even bother mixing it. A few groans came form the crowd as they noticed this. The ones who volunteered put their names in first the forced ones put theirs in last. The man on the stage smiled as he took a brath to announce the final name and then stopped as he looked at it. A bit puzzled he smiled, "Arystar. M Arystar." Mikk was frozen, he never put his name in however his wife suddenly was beaming and giggling and pushed him forward saying "Good luck dear! I love you, Have fun!" He suddenly put the pieces together- it was Amelia- she put his name in... 'Oh my god what had she done to him?' Two men in white came as they had with the other girl and escorted him to the stage. A few people came out with cheers a few sobbed, mostly older folks. A few kids were running around screaming and pretending to be tributes and saying what they would do to win. Once up there he looked at the girl he had only met a bit earlier. "Hello again miss..." She glanced at him, her eyes full of tears. He put a comforting arm around her she let him do so since she saw a wedding ring on his finger and heard his wife screaming that that was her husband up there and that she as so proud of him for being chosen. Little did she grasp the concept that only one person comes back. They were lead off, after saying good bye, his wife too proud to do much, She gave him a quick kiss and handed him his tools and sent him out as she shut the door and had a bottle in her hand to go next door to her friends house to celebrate. He whispered 'good bye' to her then left back to the place they were supposed to meet at with their things. He did so and the other girl was there waiting on him, next to a van. Her mother was there in tears holding her she looked at him and smiled threw her tears, "Take good care of my little girl. Please...She is all I have left." He nodded to her as the mother passed her crying daughter into his arms. He picked her up as thy got into the van, her eventually falling asleep, as the rep. explained what was going on now and where they were going. When she opened her eyes she was in a large room where she found herself in a man's lap, the guy from earlier- when she didn't know but she had been asleep since the van ride to where ever they were. "Umm, where are we?" She murmured from the guy's shoulder where her head was resting. "In an auditorium in the Capitol for the Hunger games, we are district 3's tributes unfortunately..." she took a shaky breath in as she took in that information but she saw a few cheery faces of people around her a few more upset still then her. Across the room however she saw a few people one who looked upset and the other one was trying to cheer her up, a red head who looked like he could be some sarcastic fun. Sitting up in the man's lap she continued to look around, she still had his jacket draped around her. "Well, I'm starving, when do we get food?" he looked at her with s light smile," Well I'm glad your awake, You've been out for quite a while...Here..." he passed her the rest of a candy bar he had in his jacket from his house.

"Wow." Kai whispered as he looked out the large wall of windows down at the Capitol bellow. There people lined the streets, crowds of millions all headed towards the main street infront of the Arena building. Kai looked at the large building and felt his jaw clench in effort to subdue his nerves. He needed to be calm, indifferent, and positive. That was the only way to keep himself going... "Are you seeing this Talise?" Kai said, looking back to where she sat on the floor. Talise sat with her arms around her legs, holding her knees to her chin. It was a comfortable position for her, almost like it was a sheild, hiding her away from the hurt. She wished that shell could turn her invisible and make all the eyes in the room completely look past her. She could feel everyone around her, all of them were staring at each other, sizing each other up. They were watching, waiting for you to break down, keeping their eyes open for that one weakness they could use against you. They were trying to get one leg up, to buy themselves more time....more time that they didn't have. She knew better than to think like that.....death had its own clock. She watched Kai instead, trying to numb herself so that she could focus only on the here the now. Kai was beaming brightly, much like a small child would in a candy shop. It made her confused at how he could be so charismatic at a time like this. Kai noticed he wasn't getting any response from her and let out a small sigh. He moved over next to her, plopping down to sit next to her on the floor. He looked her over for a long moment, wondering what he should say to break the awkward silence and make this girl come out of her shell. "You know...you're hair is really pretty." Talise looked to him, her brows furrowing. "Yeah." He said, sensing she was giving him the are you serious look, "It reminds me of the water back home for some reason. I spent alot of time on the water, mostly fishing for work. Remember Al and Vanessa? I helped the out with their Capitol quota shipments. AH! That's it!" He suddenly snapped his fingers, his smile brightening and startling Talise. "Your hair reminds me of Tuna! You know, the big fish we'd be allowed to keep 3% of each catch? Ah, but I never really liked Tuna. It was always a more North Shore taste. You from North Shore? Hmm, you look kinda like a South Shore girl? Well its kinda hard to tell with your fair skin. So pale! We can't stay that pale in East Shore. From sun up to sun down we're at the beach or raising hell on the docks." He was talking so fast Talise was falling behind, her face a mixture of shock and confusion. "Uh-I-North-Uh Tuna-What-?" She stammered uneasily and Kai blinked at her look before he started laughing. "Sorry, I have a problem with talking too much..sometimes too quickly. My sisters used to say I could talk a wall to death." He gave her a sincere smile that made her feel a small warmth despite her dark mood. She gave a light smile, barely even an upturn of her lips. "Don't worry, Kai.... your hair reminds me of fish too. Clown fish to be exact." His smile fell in surprise at her joke. Her smile fell and she quickly went to apologize. He suddenly smiled again, another laugh bubbling from his lips as he ran a hand through his red locks. "Hey! Not bad." Suddenly the door banged open and in came a woman-no wait a man-Talise stared at it as it took it's place between a few Peacekeepers. "Hello darlings!" It said with a flourish, as if it were someone famous. Talise noticed the voice was an octave too high for normal men, but it was definately masculine. He made even Kai stare in obvious confusion. People kept talking, making the feminine man glare at them despite his smile. "Now, now, hush children." He called again with a few claps, the obvious annoyance his voice carrying over the room. Silence fell over the room and the feminine man smiled brightly. "Much better! Now, time for your tips and information on tonight's proceedings. First you will all be sent to your stylists. This team will work to make you appealing for your audience! That means makeup, waxing, and removing any unsightly scars kids. So don't fret. We're here to make you beautiful! Does anyone know why?"There was a silence till finally a girl with long pink hair spoke up. "So that we will attract sponsors." She said in a very matter of fact way. Her tribute partner, a taller blonde male, gave her an annoyed wrinkle of his nose and looked away with a roll of his eyes as he tightened his folded arms. (Both are my side charas. They aren't that important....yet...lol Names= Terra and Vexus District=1 *Both volunteers Ages= 14 *Terra 17*Vex) "That's correct! As expected from my gorgeous District 1 tributes." Sponsors are very important children, for those of you that don't know. Sponsors are the people that can donate things to you in the games, like medicine, food, even weapons in some cases." Talise looked to Kai who gave her a small nod. Sponsors were very important in the games, Kai knew that quite well. It's what saved his father all those years ago.... "You will be provided with attire that will better suite representing your district and you will be taken to the chariots. Please be reminded it will be a short ride through the main street, that's where you will have a chance to win over the crowd. Try and make an impression, especially for the President himself when he gives a speech in your honor!!" Talise tensed, her eyes widdening..but there seemed to be a dark tone to her look. Kai noticed her reaction but hardly understood it. He just knew it would be bad if anyone saw it...he instantly took her hand. She jumped and seemed to snap out of whatever spell she'd been under, her expression returning to its cold detatchement. "Now children please follow your assigned Peacekeeper to your stylists room." Each of the Peacekeepers had a number on their bullet proof vests, there were two for every District. Kai gave Talise's hand a squeeze and the two walked over to their Peacekeeper. They were lead down a long hallway till they reached a room with a large 4 on it. The Peacekeepers opened the door and shoved both Talise and Kai in. The door slammed behind them with sound of more locks clicking into place. "Welcome, tributes." A male voice said and both Talise and Kai looked up to see a man with blue hair, wearing an open artisan style blue billowy sleeved shirt, and had 4 women standing beside him. "I'm your head stylist, Flavius. And I must say. I'm quite impressed with you two." He said, looking them over for a long moment before murmuring something to the women. The women nodded and seperated into groups of two. One went to Kai and the other went to Talise. They pulled them apart in different directions. Talise looked panicked and stared at Kai with fear in her eyes. Kai felt that hit him in his protective instincts and he tried to get his hold back on Talise. The stylists protested loudly, making the Peacekeepers enter the room to subdue him. "NO!" Flavius barked and everyone stopped in their tracks, even Kai and the Peacekeepers. "I'm not letting you harm my tribute right before his debut!!!" Flavius slapped one of the Peacekeeper's hands away from Kai's arm before he looked from Kai to Talise. "Now, calm down you two. I'm only seperating you two so that you can get dressed and ready properly." Talise gave a small sigh and Kai untensed. They allowed the stylists to take them to their seperate rooms. Talise noticed her room was rather barren, looking more like a factory with with only a lit mirror, a make up station, and a table with tools all around it. They made her strip and put on a hospital type gown. As they made her lie on the table, Talise felt her stomach drop in anxiety, especially when one of her stylists picked up a rather sharp looking pair of scissors. "Ready to look beautiful honey?" The purple haired assistant chirped the scissors looming over Talise, cascaded by the overhead light, looking almost like guillotine.

“Thanks, Wow This place is huge.” She chimed to him taking the candy and munching on it. He smiled, ’Kids are so cute’ he thought as he looked around. There was a few people who looked content being there some looking rather proud others looking devastated. A few got lead off and a few were left till it was their turn to be made up to be something that they weren’t. “I’m glad you seem to have some optimism here. I’m a bit lacking at the moment.” A girl said to them as she passed them, looking at the girl in the man’s lap. Candez looked up at her a bit or chocolate on her lips, a bit confused, the girl had a few tattoos and pretty brown hair up in a neat bun. Just by looking at her you could tell what district she was from. A hammer and chisel tattoo on her collar bone was obvious she had pride in her vocation. A laser hammer tattooed on her right shoulder and a tribal ax on her right thigh. A boy wasn’t too far behind her, her tribute partner as his pendant held the insignia of the Second District on it, like her collar bone. “What optimism are you thinking I possess?” Candez chimed to the girl, making her stop where she was headed too. She looked over her right shoulder at the girl, “I simply seem to think that you are a bit more cheerful then the over emotional groups, meaning you have a bit more faith in your selves…That’s all.” The boy gave Mikk an odd look, though he didn’t’ say anything. He simply walked passed them and grabbing her arm pulled her down the hallway where they were directed to go for makeup. “I was just trying to be social, It would be nice to have some allies in here you know…” She gave him a pointed glare. “We don’t have time for small socials right now, we are busy getting ready for the parade…” He said simply as he walked down the hall with her. They were met my peacekeepers who walked them threw the halls to the designers room, he didn't talk much. When they went down the long hallway to the dressing area, Mikk sighed, " Well at least she was trying to be friendly. It would do us well to remember her." She grumbled as she took another bit of her chocolate. It hit her empty stomach like a volt of electricity that was from a misplaced hand on a generator. it didn't set well, putting the chocolate down she sighed taking a few breaths to try to settle her stomach she got up from the man's lap. Dusting off she turned to look at him, " You ready to get this over with?" He sighed, getting up and walking with her down a hallway where a few peacekeepers walked with them. When they came into the room where a woman with long blond hair and a violent pink dress on and make up on up to her forehead she smiled at them. "Welcome. I guess it is time to begin. I'm going to make you both so beautiful you won't know what to do with your selves...." She purred to them as she extended a hand out to Candez. She didn't hesitate but stepped up to take the small woman's hand, that made her smile at her willingness. She told them what to do, also made them part ways dressing in hospital gowns and it just went down hill from their. ----------------- (Name: Ian Slate Age: 15 District: 2 Status: Volunteer tribute(Name:Ava (A-vey-A) Blunt Age:22 District: 2 Status: Volunteer Tribute)--------------------------------------------

Terra skipped down the hall, looking younger than she appeared. Her long ringlets bounced in time and her hips swayed in time to the small tune she hummed to herself. She noticed one of the tribute boys watching her from the hallway and she gave him a wink and a small wave. He blushed and looked away, making Terra giggle. The door was opened for her, and instead of shoving them in, they were welcomed into the room by their stylists. Flavious of course was their head stylist, the man from the introductions, his face practically glowing at the sight of the two. "OH SO PRECIOUS! You two will be stars tonight. I can feel it! Ah my dear Terra, your like a little gem! AH! That's it! A GEM! I've got the perfect outfit!!!" Flavius hurried off with his stylists and Terra gave a giggly clap. "Cut the crap. It's shameful how you act." Terra's smile fell and she looked back at Vexus, who was standing near the door. He had that damn frown on his face, the one that made him look like such a hard ass. Her eyes narrowed, one eyebrow raised in cattiness. "Whatever get's us sponsors Vex, since I'm picking up your slack." She turned back around and no sooner had she, she was suddenly snatched back. She was slammed against the metal wall, her head connecting with a crack. Through her blurred vision she saw Vexus there, his both his hands planted on her wrists, pinning her to the wall. "Care to push me some more? 'Cause I can tell you, kid, the results wont be pretty." She thrashed her head, trying to get him to turn her loose. She looked for the Peacekeepers to pull him off of her, but they stood off to the side with their backs turned to her. She stared at them in wide eyed anger before turning that fury on Vexus. "Vexus you jerk-!" She hissed, kneeing him hard square in the gut. He flinched but didn't release her. The sight of him absorbing her rather powerful kick made her rather frightened by him. She had heard about Vexus and knew he was the top his class at the Academy, the training school for fighting that District 1 was famous for. Not all got to attend this school, you were asked to join. She was one of the few chosen despite her age but he...Vexus was accepted at the age of 10, the youngest out of any student. He was the pride of District 1, the best Tribute they could offer. And she... Vexus laughed in her face, making her break from her thoughts. "This must have been some kind of joke. Sending me to the Capitol with a worthless child for a partner...more like a damn sand bag." He dropped her wrists and Terra sank against the wall, holding her now bruised and aching wrist, wondering how she was going to survive till the Games with him.... ~~~ Kai watched the light above him as they worked on every part of him. The stylists were having a hay day with his hair, obsessing over the vibrant color. He tried to have light hearted conversation with them but it seemed too shallow for him to continue it. They worked on him diligently till finally Flavius came in the room. "Now ladies I can handle things." The women bowed out of the room with excited looks at one another, leaving the two men alone. "Now that they're gone, slip off the top portion of the gown so I can get a good look at your skin. I have to make sure you don't have any sun damage. All you District 4's have too much sun I say." Kai tensed a bit, but Flavius's expectant look told him he didn't have an option to protest. He slipped off the top of the gown and Flavius did a double take, covering his mouth in a gasp. "What the hell have you done to yourself?!" He shrieked as he took in the scars on Kai. It wasn't as bad as Flavius made it. He only had a cut on his shoulder, one at the base of his neck, one on his chest, and then two or three sets on his lower and upper arms that looked like claw marks. Kai cocked his head to the side, a cold smile on his lips. "Trust me man, I didn't give myself these....though they are my fault." He said and Flavius gave him a shake of his head. "Well thank the Capitol you have me! Let's get these hideous things off you!" The procedure took almost an hour, Kai under some heavy meds while they all but burned the scarred skin off and grew skin in its place. "How did you get all this?" Flavius grumbled from behind a surgical mask but Kai was too dazed at the moment to respond. He suddenly felt Flavius's hands on his head and he turned Kai's head to the side. "ANOTHER scar?! Christ child and right on the temple!" He got ready to burn the skin but Kai reacted quickly. He grabbed Flavius's arm with the torch like gun and gave his heavily drug a shake. "No...that one stays.." Falvius protested but finally gave in after Kai refused to budge on the issue. "Fine, be unappealing! See if I care-No wait I do care-but still! Fine...I guess your hair hides it anyways. Why you would want to keep something like that is beyond me though!" Flavius went back to work and Kai gave a sigh of relief, one that was also full of a dark sadness. Thoughts of his family came to mind, of his sisters and his mother... 'It's a small price to pay for protecting them...' He thought before closing his eyes. ~~~ Talise took in a breath as she approached the door to the main room of the styling room, where Kai was waiting for her. She felt scared, nervous, and most of all way too heavy in all these clothes and makeup. She hadn't been able to see herself yet, Flavius forbade both children from seeing themselves till they were together. The door opened and Flavius ushered her into the room. “You look gorgeous baby!!!” Kai heard the women squeal and he turned to face Talise as she entered the room. She was clothed in a beautiful blue dress that reminded him of petals. She reminded him of the blue water lily in his pocket and had to catch his breath at her beauty. She looked up at him and gave him a faint look of apprehension. He was looking at her funny, like he was surprised...no awestuck? “Ah you two are perfect! Just have a look.” Flavius ushered to a mirror that had suddenly appeared. The two turned and stared dumbfounded at their appearance. “See isn’t it perfect?! You two match so well!” His stylist giggled, dusting off the netting that caressed Kai’s bare chest. His outfit was full of dark blues, most in his dark, black blue suit jacket that clashed with the actual cream colored rope netting that took place of a formal shirt. His pants were that similar dark blue and in the pocket of his jacket was a beautiful water lily of the purest blue surrounded by a bouquet of shells and smaller pieces of the net. He felt stupid so dressed up but he said nothing to the woman as she flitted around him and adjusted his clothing. “You look stunning.” Kai whispered to Talise who just gave him a small nod. “Not half bad yourself.” The two heard bickering outside the door till finally the door burst open and Effie came in with her arms folded. “FINALLY! You two are running behind schedule!” She stopped and looked them over, her eyes widening a bit as a blush took over her cheeks. “My my, Kai, quite a handsome boy you are. And Talise, If only you would smile, you’ll surely grab the attention of the men! But nevermind that, lets get to where the others are!” Kai followed silently and obediently till they finally got to a large area that vaguely looked like a large open garage. In there stood all the electric powered chariots all lines up by district with their number displayed on the sides. Everyone was dressed up, some more formal, some looking gaudy. Talise caught sight of the District 1 tributes and she had to admit they looked damn near perfect. The girl was in a sparkling dress of off white, one that seemed to glow like she was a gem. The boy, her partner, was dressed almost like a prince like he was the Prince Charming to that glittering princess. (Terra’s outfit *picture it more glittery though) (Vexus’s outfit) But her attention was mostly caught by the chariots. There, on the one that had a large metal 4 with their District seal carved into its golden side. They stood by the chariot while Effie babbled to them about how the procession would work, basically telling them that they would be transported to the main street where they would parade through the crowds of people, be observed by the Game Makers and fans, receive a greeting and speech of good will from President Snow himself, then they would be shipped off to the training arena, where they would stay spend their next three days preparing for the Games. Kai had seen this often and just ignored Effie and turned his attention to the nervous looking Talise. He pulled her close, his arms going round her waist in an attempt to calm her. She looked up at him with wide eyes but he simply gave her a wink and his best smile. “It’s okay, just the same old same old.” He told her, eliciting a confused but more relaxed frown from his new partner. (Talise’s look. *just picture the petals being the dress as well) (Sorry no pic of Kai but I’m working on getting the character sketches done. Maybe I can throw the outfit idea in. Just kinda picture it as a dark black blue suit just without a shirt but actual fishing rope for a shirt. It’s kinda like a host sort of look lol)

Ian wasn't too happy with being dressed up like this too much but it was kinda fun, his father told him it was fun enough. His mother would love him if he dressed up nice all the time. He liked to dress how he felt and this wasn't how he felt. He had a few scars from his hands removed, and one from his side. Past that the woman had no complaint with him. After he was dressed he was shown into a room where he was alone a peacekeeper by the door he came out of but nothing and no one else. Till Ava walked into the room her heels clicking smartly. Her dress a bright purple and her sex appeal being used to his fullest for sponsors. It was a short dress, but it looked good on her, it also let her tattoos breath. "You look very nice Ian. Like a grown man." She smirked at him, his eyes caught on one place before he blushed and pulled his eyes away, "You look great too, never thought purple was your color." She smiled at him knowing it wasn't' his fault. Their rep met them there shortly and let them look at them selves, Ava about burst out laughing but she knew better then that. Being lead out they ran into the group from District 3. Just ahead of them, they were dressed in relatively normal looking things, though Ava had to admit the girl was too cute. She looked completely miffed about being in a dress and the man looked to be her father or something like it who was comforting her. A cute bit she had to admit. "Come on now, you have to agree you look dazzling in this dress..." Candez looked at him like she wasn't' even remotely impressed with his words. "No, this is credulous, I don't want to be here." sighing he simply put a hand on her shoulder as the rep went threw the things they needed to do. A few more people were needed to begin but ti was almost time seeing as another rep was freaking out about being late already. (Ava's outfit) (Ian's outfit) (I couldn't help it Xd this will be an idea for Mikk's outfit) (Candez's dress concept)

A siren rang over the PA letting the tributes know it was time to leave for the presentation. "Alright my pretty little tributes, time to get going." Effie giggled and pushed Kai and Talise together and closer to their chariot. Talise tripped on the folds of her dress but Kai caught her before she hit the ground. He lifted her up with him onto the chariot and placed her beside him. She looked up at him with an apologetic look but he simply shook his head. He couldn't have her doubting herself now, not infront of the sponsors they were about to meet. Talise looked ahead at all the people and noticed the girl from District 1 was looking at something far off. Terra was looking at all the tributes, at their outfits and chariots, and the symbols on display. They were all different, though they were under the flag of Panem. Each held a different sense of meaning, of pride, of creation....all so different....closed her eyes and turned back to face Vexus and the doors that opened ahead of them. She was ready for this, to begin her journey to the arena. ..... It was as if Talise blinked and they were suddenly on the main street. It was intense, loud, and crowded. It was a vast open street surrounded by stadium seats full of millions of gaudily dressed people. They were all cheering and clapping, with children waving Panem flags and their parents and grandparents calling out their favorite District. Talise glanced up and saw the TV screens hanging around her. The announcers of The Games were on the screen, talking about the tributes, they showed pictures of each of the tributes as their chariots approached. Talise looked at each of the faces, commiting them all to memory. She never forgot a face. She took Kai's arm and tried her best not to shrink down in humbled fear. He however gave her a prod to the side before he let his fingers trail her side. Talise tried to quell it at first but then she let out a laugh. She twitched and smiled since she was incredibly ticklish at her sides. "Kai quit!" She hissed between gasps but he simply gave her a smile. "I'll quit if you keep smiling." She gave him a narrow of her eyes but her smile didn't fade. Soon they were all lined in a semi circle at the end of the procession, before the door to the Arena. They sat bellow a balcony above them that looked out into the audience. "People of Panem, all rise for the Anthem of Panem." Everyone rose, their eyes going to the large symbol of the Capitol in Gold that stood attop the massive Arena center. (This is the Anthem but I personally don't like it) The music began and everyone began to sing, even Kai who stood at attention next to a silent Talise. She simply stared up at the symbol her lips tight. He felt her stiffen when the music cut off and he instantly laced his fingers with hers. She gratefully took them since she was in a bit of a fog. She was waiting to see him....see the face of the man responsible for her brother.... "And now, presenting the creator of The Hunger Games himself, our leader of Panem, President Snow!" There was a roar of cheers from the audience as a lanky, white haired man in a suit took his place up on the balcony at a podium beneath the Capitol symbol. He looked out at the people, a smile on his lips as his steel grey eyes fell on the tributes. He cleared his throat and the crowd instantly silenced. "People of Panem, Capitol citizens and our Districts. Welcome to the primere of the 74th Hunger Games. Let us give a round of applause for our fine Tributes, who have come to fight for the glory of being the winner of this competition." Everyone erupted into cheers but Talise didn't budge. It was as if their cheers drowned away and all that was left was President Snow. She was numb to everything, not even understanding her emotions that welled within her. She could only watch, unblinkingly as he spoke. Snow gave a chuckle and waved everyone quiet. "It really is an honor, that through the ashes of destruction and war that Panem could rise and produce such a powerfully bonded nation. Though we have been met with trails and tribulations, we have overcome the darkness in the hearts of those that wished to disrupt this peace...." He gripped the sides of the podium and leaned forward as if he was sharing an important secret. "Let this show that our unity and power will always lead us through the Dark Days...That the Light of Panem," He pointed above him at the glowing gold symbol of the Capitol, "will forver shine in our hearts..." He looked down at the tributes, his eyes scanning the group. When his eyes fell on Talise she felt her body tense with a burning rage. She fidgetted at that smirk of his lips, and wanted nothing more than to tear it away from him. "Happy 74th Hunger Games...may the odds be ever in your favor..." He stepped away from the podium and the crowd errupted into cheers. The tributes were lead away at that moment, into the large double doors that lead into the depths beneath the Arena. There they were quickly pulled from their chairots and escorted to a set of elevators for each District that lined the garage. The elevators then brought them to a new level, the second floor of the building. They were now in a large lobby at what looked like a 5 star hotel, one large circular room with 4 doorways and a large circular dark wood desk in the center. The large room had flags with each symbol for each District hanging around the room. In the center, larger than all the others was the Capitol’s flag. Kai thought the whole set up to be too gaudy and overdone. Then again he didn’t know exactly where they were at the moment. During the train ride from District 4 he had heard the District Rep, Effie, talking about the plans for that day. She said the Tributes would stay in the Training Center before The Games for 3 days. He hadn’t expected such training center to underneath the actual Arena. (This is that lobby lol just imagine the statues replaced by the desk) He didn’t wish to think too much on it and looked instead to the girl next to him. “There’s us.” Kai said to her as he pointed up to a flag with a symbol that looked to be a fishing hook with fish on either side. The sight however did not bring joy to Talise, only realization of what she was losing. She hugged herself and Kai gave her a half frown but before he could say anything Effie was talking loudly to them again. “Follow me, quickly my little tributes. We’re headed for dinner in the Dining Hall with your other Tributes.” Kai and Talise looked at one another and tried not to show their apprehension. That was going to be one awkward dinner, Kai couldn’t help but think. They entered the Dining Hall and saw it was a large room with three large circular tables. It was made to separate out the 24 total tributes, 8 seats at each table. Kai looked around the room and saw all the food on platters piled on each table. All of it looked and smelled amazing...but no one made a move for the tables. Kai looked around and saw people were hesitating because of the Peacekeepers that were looking over the silverware to make sure there was no way for the tributes to harm one another. Finally the Peacekeepers took their places on guard around the room but everything still stayed silent. Terra looked around her and she then looked to Vexus who simply smirked in the direction of a Peacekeeper. He never took any of this seriously. She rolled her eyes, 'thinks he's too good to worry.' She thought with a frown. Since he saw no one else about to move, Kai gave a shrug and walked towards one of the tables, taking a seat in one of the plush chairs. He looked at the food and gave a smile before he looked back to a stunned looking Talise and Effie, even to the others. “Anyone else care to join?” He laughed, making Talise roll her eyes when he crooked a finger at her and she walked over to him. She took a seat at his left and felt her mouth begin to water at the sight of the foods she’d never even seen before. It almost made her worries melt away, as if it was a moment in heaven in all the hell. Terra noticed the two and she took Vexus's hand and pulled him along. "Come on Vex." She giggled, taking a seat across from the District 4's. She plucked a cherry from the bunch and popped it in her mouth as she leaned against Vexus's arm, pretending to be close to this stone cold man with her.

As the doors opened it got really bright and really loud. Ava smiled and closed her eyes till she felt it was bright all over her skin, Feeling the heat of others eyes on her, she opened her eyes and waved a bit. It was true she had volunteered for this but that was to please a boy she had been trying to impress, though he wasn't impressed so now she wanted out- this had been a pointless sacrifice. Ava was silent until they were told to rise for the anthem. She looked up at the golden symbol and sang along with Ian, who only knew some of the words. She had been raised to know ever word of it, in three different languages. She understood what every verse was about and why they created this type of government but she saw it from the losing districts points of view. Before The anthem was over she patted Ian's shoulder about who he didn't know the words, but he got he basic of it. "I'll teach you the words later." He wasn't looking at her when she said it he had his eyes on a girl ahead of them, she dress reminding him of a glittering jewel. She noticed this and smiled, young people would be young people. '' Candez's jaw dropped when she saw President Snow in person, as he stood beneath the insignia for the capital after the anthem. It was a far fetched thing she never had the idea to ever imagine seeing. The man was an odd thing in her family, one that was never worth much stock but that of a front for a dictator ship, however when he spoke it all made scene- the man was a blood thirsty crazed man. Mikk was a bit surprised to see him but he didn't react like Candez did so openly. When Snow looked at each tribute in turn he felt a shudder go down his spin. After wards they were escorted down a large hall to a dinning area from the elevators. It was odd to be in such a nice place but it didn't matter any more. It was too late to go back now.
Once the boy went to a seat with his other tribute and the other two from District one went he felt that is was still wrong but did so also. Ava went to sit on the other side of the girl who was glittery, she wanted to be at the table wither her for Ian who had been watching her. Candez went tot sit at an empty table with a few more quiet people from the farther out districts such as the ones form district 9 and such. she figured they would be more people like to her then the one ones from closer districts. Mikk went with her though he would have preferred to eat alone or be at home with his horrid wife.

Everyone took their seats, and after much relief, people began to enjoy dinner. Kai was surprised at the quantity of food and the wide variety. He and Talise both looked rather confused by some of the dishes, since their diet mostly consisted of breads and fish and very rarely fruit. It was all quiet, something Kai wasn't used to. His family had always made a point to make dinner very lively and full of conversation, so why should this moment be different? “Wow, there's so much food, and it all looks so strange. Hey Talise, do you know what kind vegitable this is? Is it even edible. Well then again they wouldn't try to feed you something that wasn't food-that would kind of defeat the purpose-” Talise noticed he was beginging to ramble on and instantly she pushed a spoonful of whatever kind of soup she had, up to his lips. He blinked at the spoon, then when he understood he gave her a small look of apology as well as thanks. He tried the soup and instantly recoiled. "Yick, what is that?" Talise gave a shrug and looked down at the bowl of reddish brown broth that had peices of strange meats and vegitables floating in it. Terra watched the exchange from where she was snacking on one of her favorite dishes, the chickin with risotto and pepper. She was big on spicy food, since one of the training exercises back home had a punishment of hot sauce on the tongue for the younger kids. She'd gotten so used to the tast it now became a staple in her diet. She laughed a bit at their expressions. "It's french onion with beef." Talise locked eyes with the girl and Terra looked a little taken aback by how cold the girl's stare was. She unconciously touched Vexus's hand which he quickly knocked away. She blew off the obvious diss with a bright smile at her feelow competitors, even the new ones that joined them. "Ah this is so nice. I do love Capitol food." She said and Kai gave her a light smile. Wether this girl was faking it or not, she definately got an A for optimism. "It's all very grand. Not something I'm used to back home." He said and Vexus gave a snicker of something unintelligible to all but Terra. She chose to ignore him and then looked around the table. She found familiar faces in some of the tributes, the new two she believed were from District 7, while the other two, the rather busty blondish brow haired girl and the brown haired boy were...? "District 2." Talise's voice made Terra jump, since she hadn't yet heard it. She looked at Talise with a question in her eyes. Talise responded with another cold stare before she sighed. "They're from District 2. See the tattoo's? The medalion?" Terra did look closer and noticed them. "Ah, silly me, thank you." She said politely while in her head she stored away this girls face. She was observant, and from a largely volunteer District...might not be a bad ally to have... Kai noticed Terra's look towards Talise, her eyes almost sizing her up. He tensed a bit and decided to stop her. "Yep, and we're from District 4." He gave a bright smile directed towards everyone at the table with them. "I'm Kai." He said then motioned to Talise, "And this is..." she looked at him for a moment then gave a sigh. "Talise." She said simply. Terra smiled back at Kai. She was interested in his personality though mostly because she noticed it rubbed Vexus's short temper the wrong way. He looked like he wanted to shut Kai up with a gag. "It's nice to meet you both. Well, we're from District 1. I'm Terra and this Vex-" "It's Vexus." He said, before Terra could give them that stupid nickname of her's she knew he hated. She gave him a rather smug look, that others around them would misinterpret as friendly teasing. She looked then to the District 2's. "So did Talise, guess your District right?" Kai asked and Terra gave the boy and girl a welcoming smile. "Well if she did...we know your District but not your names..." She gave them a once over look, a quick one since she rather liked their ensemble. It reminded her of a princess and attendant sort of look. What she would have given to have Vex dressed as her servant, just to rub it in his face...

Ava smiled at Kai's enthusiasm to talk, she was raised in the same kind of house hold but these people weren't her family. Ian watched closely as every one gave an introduction of themselves and how the Vexus character seemed very annoyed at the girl who was there. He would trade him spots, in a blink of an eye, she was pretty and she was quick. Ava didn't pay them too much attention instead she sighed grabbing an apple and munching on it, she knew she usually only got them on Christmas but she didn't care it was as good ad Christmas now. "You are correct. We are from District 2, I am Ava and this is my partner in crime Ian." She said with a teasing smile to the younger boy he blushed a bit but he got over it quickly. "Hey." he said as he reached over to Kai to give him a hand shake since the Vexus seemed inhospitable with his glare. Candez looked over at the other table a bit confused as to why they were being loud and normal at a time like this. She turned to look at the girl who had been looking at her, she was in a white dress covered in sparkles-District 1, had to be. Shaking her head she turned back to her table taking to a district 7 girl and a district 9 boy, who she was sitting by. Mikk was in a heated discussion with a boy form District 5 about the power outage of the light above their table. "No it can't be it has to be high wattage, I'm telling you. We are in the capitol after all, they spare no expense. " On the contrary they spare lots of things, like what little food we even get." he laughed at her joke, she was hushed a bit by a look her partner gave her.

Kai took the hand offered, hospitably. "It's nice to meet you Ian, Ava, all of you. I thought it would be much harder to meet more confident faces around here." He wasn't poking fun at Talise, just simply saying that he prefered that people had a little faith in the situation. If fate got you there in the first place, then perhaps there was something to look forward to in the future. Talise picked up on his comment but didn't respond. She was more curious as to why she could feel eyes on her behind her. She glanced over her shoulder and caught the girl from....perhaps it was....Ah District 3, staring at them. She was a little confused herself as to why the girl sat so far away. Usually Districts tried to stict together the closer they were to one another in distance. She looked back to find Kai giving her a look of question. She just gave him a light shrug before going back to her soup. "I agree, it really is such a creative mix this year..." Terra said, as she took another bite of her food all the while glancing at Vexus. He hadn't touched his food and looked to be in a rather standoffish mood. All the better to screw with him right? She gave his leg a kick. He looked at her, the glare intensifying. She gave him a sweet look, before mouthing a small "Be nice to the company..." His frown turned to the resemblings of a sneer, but a look from a nearby Peacekeeper made him untense and try for a bit more sociable approach. "So are you guys volunteers or victims?" It was a rather derogatory classification system amoungst most of the Career Districts. Terra wanted to face palm at how blunt he was. For a guy who was trained to be a killer, he really had no social skills. Terra was raised to be a socialite. Her mother spared no expense in keeping her daughter fit and pretty, like the little gem everyone saw her as. She even paid top for her hair to be permanantly dyed powder pink, since it was a fad in the Capitol to have "different" and "flamboyant" appearances. She didn't mind. She loved the color pink almost as much as she loved a life of luxury she expected to win from the Games. Talise tensed and looked up at Vexus. He reminded her of most Capitol men, the Peacekeepers in her District to be exact, the ones that thought themselves about the people that slave all day just so they could live lives of luxury. She knew better than to voice her ditaste, he obviously had a temper. So she simply buttoned her lip and gave him a narrow of her eyes. Kai instead took up Talise's silence and answered. "We were chosen. I guess we're a bit mainstream." Kai joked, making Talise elbow him in the side at the rather sick joke. He winced but gave her a light look to show he was just playing around, keeping the mood light.
"Look at them. A bunch of Career's." A girl muttered from where she sat at the table behind Talise. "I know, it's sick how they treat this like it's all some kind of joke. Actually volunteering to slaughter people.." Her partner growled and the two began twittering amoungst themselves. It was common knowledge most of the richer Districts were considered Career Districts because of their percentage of volunteer tributes. That number ascended the further you got from the Capitol, mostly till District 5. But it was known the Career Districts tended to bond and form alliance since they believed in most cases they only had their group to worry about killing them. They were powerhouse allies, if they truly were worth the hype they built up. It was rare, but there were occasions where the Career District's had dud tributes that winded up getting themselves and their group killed. But that was a real rarity, since the higher Districts usually had the most victors, the higher scores, the most sponsors, and the better chances of survival.

"I volunteered." Ava stated looking at Vexus with a serious face knowing what it must have been like for him growing up. Having no social interaction from the capitol dogs. "I was chosen, He picked my name right off the top...figures huh." He said with a little laugh. Turning his attention to the other more quiet table he saw a guy who was from District 3, 'shouldn't he be over here?' he thought as he saw the girl give him a look of almost distrust. He looked a bit taken a back however he changed his thought to the direction now. "Well, Kai, you sure are optimistic one aren't you?" Ava said with a bright smile to him. She didn't really want to be all 'happy' at the moment seeing as he attempts at impressing her dream guy died when she volunteered- little did she know back then. Mikk sighed, there was still an open chair at the other table. he kind a of wanted to go sit there. He felt too depressed there. "I'll be back in a short while Candez." He said she gave him a nod and went back to her conversation. Getting up he went across the room adn took a seat nexted to a girl with grey hair, nexted to the red headed boy. "Hope you don't mind me but it's a little too depressing over there for my particular taste. My name is Mikk, Mikk Arystar." He said as he took a seat. His eyes scanned every one as he looked for things to identify them by, he knew the district 3 tributes as well as the first districts just by how they sat.

Terra wasn't really surprised to hear the District two girl volunteered to join the Games. "Ah like Vexus and I. We were chosen sorta though out of the top rankings of our class." She said before looking to Ian. "Yes well, that's the District Representatives for you. Always trying to keep things fresh." Kai looked at Ava and gave her a small smile at her optomism comment. "Not so much optomistic. I find it more along the lines of being true to ones character." He said with a shrug, and Talise could sort of understand that. Kai definately seemed like he was just this animated back home in Distict 4 as he was at a table full of strangers. Terra was making her assessments as the meal went on. She was liking what she saw so far. She wasn't quite sold yet on relying on these people, but she had to admit they did make her smile. She was sure Vexus had already been analyzing their usefulness in the arena since he'd gone quiet again. Talise looked over when a man suddenly joined them, his face calling to mind to her District 3. He was with a blue haired girl that was younger than him. 'He must be a volunteer.' She thought, since he looked to be around her brother's age or older. "Welcome Mikk." Terra said smoothly before Kai gave a nod. "Yeah, the more the merrier." Vexus gave Mikk an overall look. He assessed everything, down to what size shoe he was wearing. Vexus couldn't get a read on him, or at least not one he felt comfortable on. 'I'll have more time during training tomorrow to worry about that.' He thought but was broken from his thoughts when Terra turned so that she half leaned on Vexus. He didn't move but his twitch of the lip showed he didn't like it at all. Not that Terra cared. "So, what's your District?" Vexus said, not knowing really what else there was to adress.

Mikk looked over at Vexus knowing he was taking everything in about him he could. He did the same his eyes analyzing him like a wire circuit that was over done. He also saw what Terra was up too however he had no reason to doubt any one but Vexus. He was the most dangerous threat here. He didn't want him on his team. "I think you should just wait and see, I find it no fun for every one to know everything, its more fun to have tricks up ones sleeves. Don't you agree? Thought I'll tell you my shoes size since you seem to be making me out like an animal. I were 10s." He said point blank at Vexus knowing he was being an ass to call him out as such but he couldn't help it. It was his personality to not be seen as livestock. Three heads from the quiet table popped up and looked over at the other table now that 1.) animals had been mentioned and 2.) Mikk was talking and it kinda sounded like he was starting something. Mikk's eyes were closed as he took a bite of an apple he got from the center of the table. His eyes flashed to Candez's to make her sit back down since he heard her chair made a noise as she stood up.

Kai blinked at Mikk's quick response and even Talise looked a little surprised. However, Talise did smile slightly. So she wasn't the only one that wanted to knock the guy down a few pegs? Terra's ears pricked at the confrontation Mikk offered to Vexus. She hadn't heard anyone talk to him like that before, at least not someone who hadn't been scared to death afterwards. Terra only got away with her teasing because she knew he had to stand her till the Games. She offered Mikk a look before she gripped Vexus's knee. She was prepared to step in should he lose his temper but she wasn't sure she could hold him back. She felt his muscle tense under her grip and she could sense the obvious humming anger in him building. However, she was shocked to hear Vexus give a laugh. It wasn't a drawn out thing, just a light chuckle. She couldn't hide her surpsise as she looked back at Vexus. She tilted her head in confusion when she actually saw a smile on his face. She had no idea what this meant, she'd never see him smile before, without some kind of sadistic undertone to it. She had no idea what was going to happen. "True. This will be interesting." He said, not really having to specify what he meant. He was sure this Mikk guy would understand. Kai gave Talise a small look and she gave him a similar look. They communicated silently how this was already getting intense. "Hm, I think desert would be lovely, right?" Terra jumped in, trying to save the social situation. She took a cupcake with a cherry on it. She adored cherries. She took another and handed it to Kai. "You'll like it, trust me." He took it with a small nod of thanks but neglected to say he disliked sweets. He instead tried the cherry and passed the cupcake off to Talise. She sniffed the pastry and cocked her head to the side in confusion. It was bread right? But it looked so different from the seaweed bread back home. She picked off a peice and took a bite from it. Her lips pursed in surprise of the taste. It was very rich and fluffy, like a cloud. She smiled a bit and tried another bite, this time with icing. "Fynn would love this." She whispered just under her breath, her eyes now seeming distance as she faded back into a memory of her brother.
