Nicholas heard her talking to him about running away and composed himself to his business persona. The fake smile as well as the cheery out look. He was rather unhappy to be out of the house today, he hated rain-it made him think about that day... Taking a breath he stepped out of the car beside Melani. Looking around at the excited on lookers he smiled, gave a few waves, shook one hand and went into the door that roger held open for him. Letting out a breath- he was holding he let his face fall into thought as he approached the main interview room, where he would walk up the left to the podium to stand next to Mr. Morgan. Stepping to the left he stopped to look in the mirror and found what he saw unsatisfactory. running his hands threw his hair he got it just perfect as well as straightening up every aspect of himself from how his shirt layer hidden under his jacket he wanted to look perfect, like every one saw him. He glanced at Melani while he looked in the mirror knowing she probably thought he was weird and probably a little full of himself. Then he put on a smile and went up o the doors and opened them since Roger was already inside mingling with the others. "Ladies and Gentleman of the press and public, Mr. Hoult." As soon as his name was out the cameras started, and so did the constant noise...
Smiling for the cameras as he always did a few people looked at Melani in question. He didn't think she needed help talking her way threw things like a misunderstanding. A security guard patted down roger as he made his way to the stage just before them. Letting Nicholas pass, the guard next looked at Melani with a suspicious look. "Mam? Can I help you?" As soon as Nicholas heard that he turned around and told the guard something, quietly- he let her pass with Nicholas. Roger was beaming while he sat next to a few others in the back and watched as Mr. Morgan started up a speech and Mr. Hoult took a seat in the front next to Mr. Morgan's seat. After a few minutes of talking about the company and what they did, Morgan called Nicholas up so they could start the questions. A lady in the front was first called to question," Mr. Hoult, Why now are you merging your company with J.P. Morgan and Co? Aren't they a banking branch?" He smiled and nodded as he thought of what to respond with. In a steady voice he said," I have decided to merge with J.P. Morgan and Co. because I will one day like to retire and have my business and its workers well taken care of. " The next one was called for Mr. Morgan, after answering the same reporter asked Nicholas an odd question. "Is it true that you have been involved in an affair with Chyler Leigh?" There always had to be one or two who had to ruin a perfectly good press release. With out hesitation he answered smoothly," No, I am not having a relationship with Ms. Leigh, she is a family friend-I am currently not seeing any one nor and I having any affairs. Next question please." The reporter took careful consideration of his words before sitting back down looking like some one had just spit in his face. After a few more basic questions Mr. Morgan called and end to the questioning and said good bye. He had another meeting to attend. Giving Hoult a hand shake he left totally ignoring Roger and Melani. He walked behind the heavy curtain that held as a barrier between the sharks and the fish, he took a bottle of water off the cart and opened it. A few large eyes were poking around the barrier ans suddenly rushed up to him. "Please can we have your signature?! My mom will kill for it!" The three girls looked like they were in high school, and were wearing slightly more provocative clothing to perhaps catch his eye. He was a little surprised at their sudden on rush but he smiled pleasantly and agreed. After signing they wanted a picture, he declined politely but the girls looked a little upset and the one with the camera looked ticked that she wasn't going to get her way.

Melani noted the change in persona as Mr. Hoult got out of the car immediately. As was her duty, she followed behind him and watched to make sure that no one would be more unruly than usual. They made it through the door and once more Melani saw her client change face once more. Interestin, she mused while examining the room. She kept her eyes on him though at the same time.
It came to her attention that Mr. Hoult was pruning himself while in front of a mirror. She had to keep herself from scowling as she found nothing wrong with his appearance at all. Managing to keep her professional face on, she followed him as they began to walk out of this room. She was about to open her mouth to explain herself to the guard but Mr. Hoult seemed to have that covered as she was allowed to pass as soon as he mentioned something to the guard. She didn't follow Mr. Fultyick to sit down, nor did she go stand by her charge. Instead, she took place right on the entrance between both places. She was close enough to intervene if needed and she had a prime view of the audience. If something were to go wrong, Melani would be able to get there in time to stop it.
Usually Melani would try and stay neutral upon hearing topics such as theses but when her client was asked a question about his relationship with so and so, Melani could help but think that he was full of it when Mr. Hoult claimed he was seeing no one. Someone in his position almost guaranteedly is seeing someone or having fun with them, she thought rather bitterly. Why she despised him so much, she couldn't really tell you. Maybe it was the fact that he seemed to carefree and happy on television, or maybe it was the fact that he was too damn perfect. No one could be that way and be human, she thought and straightened her posture some as Mr. Morgan exited. ((crap crap crap.....))

When the girl glared at him, Nicholas went over to Roger and told him to distract the girls while he made his escape, nodding he listened. Nicholas looked at Melani then to the emergency exit. He himself went towards to door, not noticing when some one tried to ask him a personal question, the reporter from earlier who was out of place. Before his hand could make contact with the doors push bumper- the reporter jumped in front of him. "Sir, Answer my questions and I'll let ya out. deal?" The man was grinning a malicious smile. Nicholas was very still, and didn't blink when his face went from closed and conservative to a scary dark one that gave the impression of 'I'll ripe out your heart and eat it as a snack'. "How about you leave me alone and let me pass or my security guard here will..." The reporter didn't notice Melani at first but eyed her up. Then Roger came up when the girls left and glared at the man too. When Nicholas pushed passed him he muttered under his breath about paparazzi being scum of the earth. He hated them, they spread lies and gossip like valley girls. He wished they would just disappear. Getting in the car even before the handy man could open the door, he huffed into the seat as he relaxed. " You should have been more polite and let Melani or myself be rude..its bad for your image Nickolas." Nicholas looked at him and nodded, he knew it was true but it felt so good to him to be able to be mean-to show how me really felt about things, but it wasn't good for his image. With the window once again up he pressed the intercom button,"Please make sure we avoid traffic. I don't want to be late." The driver nodded, pulling out of the alley.

Melani was about to step in when her client showed a side that she hadn't expected to see in public. Her eyebrows rose quite high at the spectacle but she composed herself quickly as she followed him to the car. She got in after the others, biting her tongue so as to not say something she shouldn't. Though his adviser commented first, Melani couldn't say what she wanted but she could agree. "I must agree with Mr. Fultyick. I must add that I am not a prop. Please let me do my job. I do not want unnecessary conflict for you or for me to clean up afterwards." With that, she turned around and faced forward. Her tone had not been to chastise but rather a suggestive tone that gave the impression she wanted to be used. After all, she thought of herself as a human shield. Someone to take the pain and the physical harm away from another. She may not have liked the man she was guarding but she would give her life as was required of her.
Most would have thought that it was a cruel way to be raised but that was what she had been taught as a young child. Such was they way of her family. They had been there to serve others since they could remember. Maybe it began as a way of atoning a foul sin, she didn't know. All Melani did know was that this is what she was meant to do. She enjoyed it in all honesty, especially when the moment came that she got to do her job. She was meant to protect and therefore she would, no matter what. She just hoped that her current client would realize that soon.

Nicholas felt like he was being scolded, frowning he turned his face to the window for the whole ride. It was silent when they pulled up to the grand hotel, people in other expensive cars getting out in the large circle. They were all dressed up nicely and it was probably going to make Melani feel bad. So he took off his tie and his vest, then shrugged his jacket back on and messed up his hair a bit. He knew it would bug him later but he thought it would make her feel a bit better. Since he did after all negate her purpose at he last event. Getting out of the car he looked at Melani," This should make you feel a bit better. So we both looked casual." He let a smile slip, not knowing why he wanted to make her day a bit brighter beside putting the reason of a good employer in his head.
Walking into the hotel they were greeted and a woman come up to Roger giving him a hug then Nicholas, she stopped and looked at Melani not really knowing who she was and stepped back. " Well, who might you be? I thought you were Ceria for a minute..."The woman looked back at Nicholas as for an explanation. "Oh Libby this is My new body guard Ms. Melani Rulinu. She just started today. Please tell your staff to let her do as she pleases." Libby smiled ans turned back to Melani," It's a pleasure to meet you dear, my name is Libby turner-I own and manager this hotel. The party is for my late husband." Nicholas put an arm around her shoulders and gave her a little squeeze. "It will be a lovely party I'm sure- He always liked parties." Heading into a large ballroom there were hundreds more people. Nicholas did glance back at Melani," Is this okay? Can you get used to this?" When he said this he had a hand on her waist-he wanted to see if she was packing and he was correct. It was a slightly sensual move to any one else but to him it was normal and it had purpose, since he wanted to talk to her and no one else.

This was going to be wonderful fun, Melani mused while looking out of the passenger side window. It had been a long day already and she was starving, though she wasn't going to eat. It was not her job to eat and socialize. If she was expected to, well they would just have to suck it up. When they stopped, she got out of the car to find that Mr. Hoult had messed up his appearance. His smile had shocked her a bit, as had the gesture, she nodded her head and smiled slightly. "Thank you, sir." Her tone was thankful but she couldn't help but be a bit suspicious.
When they entered the hotel, Melani was a bit taken aback by the friendly manner in which they were greeted. The woman was kind though, and she could tell by how she had approached that she was no threat. She had almost mistaken her for someone, leaving Melani to wonder who Ceria was. She stored it away in her mind for later, not wanting to dwell on it. When she was introduced, Melani smiled for real, the expression looking quite pleasant on her fragile seeming face. "It is lovely to meet you." She responded. That was all she said and watched the rest of the exchange.
Following her charge into the ballroom, there were many more people there than she had expected. At Mr. Hoult's comment though, she became annoyed and let it show on her face. It didn't help that he had his hand around her waist as though they were close. Turning towards him, an obvious frown on her face, she spoke softly to him. "I am no mere amateur Mr. Hoult. I have been to parties such as this." She exaggerated, she had been to parties like this but at a smaller scale. "Crowds do not bother me and next time you wish to know if I have a gun on my hip ask, don't touch." It was obvious she was a bit cross at him. Did he think he could get away with such a thing. She had only assumed that that had been the reason for his sudden close contact. Why else? Taking a deep breath, she composed herself, but not without her stomach growling softly. "I apologize, sir. I was out of line." She commented almost immediately after, realizing her fault. Never talk back to a client like that, even if you do not like them. She had been bad about that the whole day. Maybe she was really trying to get herself fired, but that would have to be subconsciously because it would tarnish her record if she was. And that could NOT happen.

Smiling as though she had said something teasing in his ear, he couldn't help but smile at her frown. "Don't apologize, Criticism is always nice for an actor and a businessmen. Are you hungry? Your stomach is echoing in the ballroom..." he joked a bit at the end but it was true he did hear it over the crowd. Grabbing two drinks off a passing tray he practically forced the other one into her hand, he figured she wouldn't drink it but he could at least say he tried to be a gentlemen. "Melani- You know you are quite refreshing to have on the team. Every one is usually kissing my ass-" He was interrupted by a few men with their shy looking wives who wanted to meet him and get his signature. Putting on a fake smile, unlike the one he had flashed Melani just a few seconds ago-he turned to the people and obliged them. The smile he gave Melani or usually any personal staff members, would know that it was his real smile, he only showed it to people who would be getting to know him very very well. Soon they could tell the difference between an actor smile, to a business one. They each had their own personality. The actor one made one think of something teasing almost sensual on ones lips-suggesting more then just a drink. The businessmen smile was a cool, confident, smile with the power to back him. His real smile made him look some how fragile yet-Unbreakable at the same time-Like a child. Ceria always said he shoudl smile more- since he was always so serious at work and such he never took time to laugh or enjoy life. 'What was the use of all this money if you aren't going to enjoy it?' This was what She always said to him, making him smile because its true.

"I am not hungry." She lied through her teeth, confused greatly by his attitude towards her professionalism. Geez, what is he up too, she thought but her mind was taken away from her thoughts as a glass was shoved into her hand. Sniffing it, she found it to be champagne. Looking over at her client again, he said something she hadn't been expecting, almost making her forget what she was about to say. She shook her head for a moment as if to say 'What?' but didn't comment on it, only nodding her head.
"You do realize that I am not old enough to drink right." She commented in a whisper, leaning a little too close to him on accident. It was true though. Most didn't expect one her age to have such a job but she had trained for it since she was young. To the general populace, people would find that what she had done in school to be outlandish and wrong but it had prepared her for the life she had chosen to lead and she wouldn't have it any other way.
Looking around, she took in every face, ever movement that her eyes could catch. Trying to grade everyone threat level while gaining information on what kind of people were attending the party. Her eyes had instantly gone to check every exit and entrance into the room, along with the location of the windows and the possible sniping angles there could be. Luckily it was a fairly safe room from the outside in so she wouldn't have to worry about anyone trying anything from the outside. It was the inside that held the biggest threat. As did anywhere with so many people.

Smiling a mischievous smile he liked how she leaned in to tell him that. "Does it really matter- If your going to say that then follow your own advice- don't lie. As for your age- i could care less,No one will question you here...Your working- make it look like your at least doing something other than examining every one- it makes the upper class nervous." He knew it was true- the police chief was there but he was already drunk his wife had practically holding him up. He himself downed his first glass, grabbing another on the and taking a sip giving Melani a small smile that was slightly a suggestion to tell him not to get drunk. Roger would have taken his drink from him but he was ogling some other famous people. Walking towards the dinner table, he got a roll and bit into it- looking slightly put out he thew it away-he hated this brand- it tasted bad. Not looking pleased with the rest of the food he shrugged heading back into he crowd to be social. A few of his friends asked who the girl was and he tried to explain it every time till he finally gave up and started making jokes. Some thought he was serious in the jokes but he told them other wise. "My new body guard John- Don't be serious..." The man looked to be about 25, dark brown hair, looked a bit Italian, tall and handsome. "So your single?" He asked to Nicholas but more to Melani as he was looking over his shoulder at her while he said it but it was mostly for him. He was crushing on her, Nicholas noticed this. A slick smile came over his face," John- I wouldn't try this time..." He whispered into his ear so Melani couldn't hear. He didn't rally want John to be killed but he wouldn't mind him getting put in his place.

"Maybe they need to be nervous." She muttered, glaring at her client, not caring that it was unprofessional. Shoving her own words back in her face, the bastard. She didn't take well with alcohol and it was completley against her principles to drink while working. She had seen it go bad if body guards took more than a few sips to blend in. She relaxed herself and quite looking around as much. She kept enough attention to be wary but knew that she didn't have to be over alert. She was trying to be a good body guard but she had been going over board at a party such as this.
Falling into step behind Mr. Hoult, Melani listened as he tried to explain who she was but then he started making jokes. She kept a half smile on her face though by the occasional twitch of her eye; she didn't like some of the jokes. Haha, he was such a funny man, NOT, she thought sarcastically in her mind. Then one of his friends made a comment of her being single. This peaked her interest and she payed more attention to, John, as his name seemed to be. He was rather attractive, taller than her for sure and a bit older but not enough that a relationship would be totally awkward. She didn't look away as he looked at her over Mr. Hoult's shoulder, though she looked a little peeved when he whispered something into the mans ear. "I am, yes." She responded to John's question. Glancing at Mr. Hoult, she almost seemed to have an evil look in her eye but it dissipated as quickly as it had come, being replaced with a rather pleasant look.

Pursing his lips he sighed," John-I guess you want to be introduced, then she can kill you herself." He was only half joking. The man was out of place but he wasn't her type- he felt that she liked some one more...particular then this man whore. He was one of the trashiest upper class men he knew- he never openly called him as a friend just an acquaintance. "Melani This is John- I've knowing him a bit now-John- This is my personal body guard." He watched john's face go from a 'rich man's smile' to a perverted rich man. He wanted to beat John off of her with a stick but it probably wasn't going to happen. His drinking had slowed down considerably because he knew he mad an ass of himself when drunk and he didn't really want to give Melani a bad impression of him. "Its an absolute pleasure to meet you Ms. Melani, My name is Johnathen Rockart-From the Rockart schools of business." When he introduced himself he weirdly tucked in his jacket on his left side, trying to conceal a slight bulk there. Nicholas himself didn't notice it at all but he did see how he tucked in his jacket as weird. The man never wore jackets often but when he did he acted a bit weird.
