-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hand smashing into her alarm clock, Melani groaned and rolled over. Opening her bright blue eyes, the girls silky black locks fell into her face. Huffing them out of the way, she slowly got up and walked into the bathroom. Her morning routine then commenced as she took a shower among other various activities.
She wasn't in the greatest of moods though one would wonder why. She was starting her new assignment today. Most would kill for the job she had been given, though to her it wasn't something amazing. In fact she would give it away in a heart beat. She was to be protecting the richest man in the world. Famous for his acting and business ventures. He was said to be quite intelligent but Melani thought that he was just full of himself. She really disliked people like him. Those that were so well off and didn't care about others. Sure there were reports on how he had bought a whole neighborhood renovations to their decaying homes but she figured it was just a publicity stunt. Someone so loved by the people had to have some kind of dark secret. No one was as perfect as him.
As per orders, Melani dressed in civilian type clothing. A pair of fitted jeans and a white tank. A grey zip up hoody on top to ward off the chill of the air. Running her hands through her straight damp hair, she looked into the mirror and holstered her gun on her hip; the jacket covering it up perfectly. In all honesty she truly looked her age right now. A fresh twenty year old on a chilly fall day. Her skin was pale from the lack of sun lately and she held a soft smile as she looked outside. A soft drizzle was falling, making a pleasant noise against her windows.
Melani loved the rain, it lifted her mood some. However, when a soft rumble of thunder boomed off in the distance, she shivered. Thunder did not make her happy. Though by the sound of her, she had slept through the majority of the storm and it was now at a very slow decrescendo to finish. Pocketing her phone and grabbing her wallet, she left her apartment and went out into the weather. She was headed towards the bus stop when a black car pulled up in front of her. Hand twitching in an urge to reach to her hip, she stopped it as the driver got out. "Melani Rulinu?" He questioned, the mans hair slightly greyed. It was obvious now, a look of 'really?' plastered on her face. "Yes?" She responded, eyebrow quirked. "The master has sent a car for you to make your travels easier this morning. Please." He gave her a nod and came around, opening the back door for her. Seeing that she didn't have much of a choice, she got in without a complaint. However, that didn't mean she was happy with it. "Thank you." She told the driver, not getting more than a nod in response.
She figured also that they were trying to be a little safer about everything since 'the master', as the driver had said, had almost been taken out only a few days previous. Her boss had assigned her to be acting as his body guard until the threat passed. She had begged him to not do it but her boss said that she was the best one for the job. She was great at what she did and a female which meant she would have the advantage in surprise. What money could buy right? Rolling her eyes, he buckled up and closed her eyes, listening to the rain hit the car.
She wondered how this job would turned out. She didn't like this guy one bit and was going to tell him that flat out. She didn't have any orders other than her main priority was to protect him and follow any orders he may have for her. Accompany him to various events and keep him in sight whenever possible. Pretty well the same as every other one of her assignments, just with a very high risk and open client.
The ride was a half hour long and quiet, the way Melani was hoping it to be. She got out of the car, but not in time to open the door herself. She was escorted into the clients mansion. The stone appearance was lovely and the front entrance magnificent, though she wasn't too impressed. What did he need it for, really? She was brought to a room on the first floor and left alone to wait for the man she was going to be guarding. a lazy expression was on her pretty face, one of indifference though a hint of annoyance was present in her bright blue eyes. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ((So any one may join but for the main guy, you can pick his name and picture, but I would like him to be a very nice guy though wary and sometimes rude to Melani. Once his feelings for her start to blossom (cause I think they will) I would like him to want to be possessive or domineering of her though he tries to hold himself back as he thinks it would be inappropriate. If his attitude is a bit like Ren from Skip Beat, this could be quite funny really. =D Thanks for joining!))

Nicholas had been very busy lately. From filming the new movie 'Black Lightning' all the way to business negotiations with a few companies. He had some free time and he never spent it on some one in particular. Sitting up in bed he rubbed his eyes. Looks like there was a storm last night...And as for privacy why are the curtains open...stupid maid.' he thought with a sick smile to himself. Sliding out of bed he slipped on his slippers. A hand reaching out for his PDA that told him what he was doing every day-all day-day after day. On the desk was a note from his adviser as well. Reminding him about meeting the new security at a prompt 9 am. Rolling his eyes he went back to his phone till it was also there with a smiley face behind it with a mention of the note. ... He hated the little stupid Emo-cons that she always left, "Arent they cute Nicky?"She said in a girly squeal, she loved cute little kitty faces well anything girly really. "No- now stop putting them on there- that's a business device not a cute portal for your entertainment." Her smile disappeared as she cleared her throat to straighten herself out forgetting who she was talking to. "Sorry sir,I updated your PDA...... Shaking his head he tossed the PDA on his bed heading into the bathroom. He remembered her well... After a quick shower, shave, and a good grooming he finally thought he was ready to face the day. Putting on a suit with a grey tie, he straightened it up in the mirror then glanced at the clock, 7:00 am. Shrugging he let out a sigh then left his room into the dimly light hallway of the vast mansion. He didn't really need a big house but growing up he always wanted one so now he had one and there were even empty rooms that he didn't even know what to put in them. He usually left that to the staff to deal with, he usually only used 4 rooms- always out. Once down stairs, he caught the glimpse of himself in a mirror, stopping to look at himself to make sure he looked presentable his butler approached him. "Sir, your adviser asked me to remind you of your meeting to day at 9am in the West parlor." Nicholas's eyes were stone cold as he looked at him, then softened as he spoke, "Thank you- I haven't forgotten, send the driver to fetch them. I noticed there was a storm I don't want them getting stuck any where to make them late." Bowing the man stalked off to do as he was told. Nicholas turned back to the mirror ans continued to examine himself, counting out his flaws. He hated seeing what others couldn't see past his money for, it almost made him sick; But acting made him happy so he was all for it. Heading back down the hall he took a seat in the kitchen at the counter and looked at the cooks running about to fix him his coffee. They work so hard to make him happy and they know him better than anyone did, since they were always there when he was at his best and his worse. "Your coffee sure? What would you like for breakfast sir?" The plump woman wiped her hands nervously on her apron, not knowing what to do now since he never usually came to the kitchen this early, they had just gotten up. Thinking he took a sip looking at her over his cup then setting it down he said," Toast is fine thank you, strawberry jam on the side, as for this morning around 9 I would like there to be refreshments in the West parlor room-I have a meeting I would like them to feel comfortable."She nodded and did as she was told as well as wrote down what he had said. After eating he went up to his study and waited till around 9 then started to head down stairs when he heard the door close in the main foyer, meaning his guest was there. Stopping in the mirror once again he straightened up then knocked on the parlor door then entered to see a girl. She was kinda cute, her hair was in her face but he didn't mind much. Her jeans and grey sweat jacket looked so...casual. He would have taken a guess his adviser told her to dress so. He straightened his jacket then reached out his hand, "Its a pleasure to meet your acquaintance, I'm assuming your here about the security position my adviser had set up?" His eyes were sharp on hers waiting for her response as well as he body's response, you could tell how some one was really feeling from their body language.

She noticed instantly when her client entered the room, though she made no note about it until he spoke to her. She had waited for a little while, not liking that he hadn't come right on time. Though she hadn't expected better from him. Hoped, but didn't expect. Taking a mental breath, she turned to him, plastering on a very professional looking expression. There was a slight twitch in her eye when she first saw him but she dismissed her dislike quickly. She may have wanted to tell him that she didn't like him. But Melani knew better and figured there would be a more appropriate time to do so after all.
Shaking his hand in response, she inclined her head. "Yes, I am Melani Rulinu." Her shake was firm and her chilling blue eyes met his own, a sign that she was not intimidated by who he was and the power that he could call upon due to his position in the hierarchy of life. "I have been given orders to keep you within a respectable range of sight and follow any orders that you may have. However, your protection is of the utmost importance so if your command puts your life in danger I will disobey." She stated, her tone neutral. "I have already been debriefed but will need a schedule synced to my phone. I also have an emergency contact number for you to call me if for some reason we have been separated and you are in trouble."
She was aware that it was a pretty lengthy introduction but would rather skip pleasant chit chat. If he stilled wished, that her client could question her to his hearts content after business was completed. That didn't mean she would respond though. Digging into her pocket, she pulled out a neatly folded piece of paper, her number scrawled on it in a perfection that hinted she had tried numerous times to make it that legible. "I am here to serve you as best I can and with all of my capabilities. However, I will not stray from my job description, sir." She hit the last sentence with a hard tone, hinting at the fact that she was not some little female toy. This wasn't because she didn't like him though, merely because she had been assigned to clients that had thought so before. Eyes still on him, she waited patiently and pleasantly for his response.

When she turned to look at him he sensed a type of dislike though her face was as professional as it came. Shaking her hand was comfortable, she didn't shy away from his challenge, and her eyes were intimidating almost like trying to see through him. He took his seat as she spoke, noting that she was watching him. 'A respectable range is arms length, that's an invasion of privacy...really Roger-You couldn't get me a happier person?' he thought to himself behind his calm and noting face as he served them both some tea, sipping his. "I can give you my PDA to sync up with...As for the number-" He watched her dig a number out of her pocket of her jeans, noticing her figure was very slight but strong. As she dug in her pockets, he simply reached into his jacket pocket and slid out his PDA and placed it on the table casually. Shrugging mentally he took the number from her fingers and entered it into his phone-under 'MR.boss'. A simple joke to himself as the thought this guard wasn't going to have a sense of humor at all from her introduction- until she said the last part. "I am here to serve you as best I can and with all of my capabilities. However, I will not stray from my job description, sir." At the last sentence left her lips he couldn't help but know what she meant by her harsh tone and he smiled. He turned back to his phone and changed the name to 'Melani Rulinu', since she was actually serious about her job. He looked at her face not seeing much dislike after her sentence just some understanding in her pleasant posture as she waited. "Thank you for the grand introduction Ms. Rulinu, I'm sure you already know my name and ventures-like every one else. You many call me Mr.Hoult. now If you will just answer a few personal questions..." He did notice that her eyes were still on him, that made him feel like he was back on a TV set-every one watching him waiting on him to make them feel some thing-for the massive range of emotions he could act out but not really feel out. He was only 27, they didn't expect a busy man to have time for others in his life. Most did, like most interview he learned then claiming ignorance, it was better to make them wonder. Thought he wouldn't mind having a few friends here and there- they never usually stayed-they wondered off because he didn't have time. Sighing his eyes left hers to his tea as he waited for her to consent to his few simple questions. It wasn't going to be anything major just simple policy questions, some other questions could be saved till much later but these we a necessary. His face he decided the smile wasn't a good expression and changed it to a pleasant content expression, lips not smiling but not frowning wither-it was a neutral expression he was taught over the years, as he did this he pushed the hair out of his face, knowing it made him look a bit immature if he left it in his face.
The maid was about to knock on the door to the west parlor when she heard a females voice, she hadn't heard one in a while. She waited quietly till it was silent a bit then she knocked and opened the door, "Sir, your Adviser is to arrive shortly. He called ahead." Nicholas's eyes never left his tea nor did his expression change," Thank you, Show him in when he arrives." His eyes getting a little tight around the corners since he hadn't expected his adviser to arrive so early so he could question the new security guard. He hoped Melani didn't notice ho his expression tightened over his adviser.

Upon her client setting his PDA on the table, she took it into her own hands without even a questioning look. Her own simple phone was taken out of her pocket and efficiently she blue-toothed the mans schedule over without even touching anything else. She was quite decent with electronics and although her phone looked like an old pebble phone, it was quite the piece of near indestructible technology. Melani set his PDA back onto the table, this all transpiring in a little more than thirty seconds. She glanced at the tea afterwords but didn't touch it, finding that it wasn't to her liking.
Her eyes trailed back to Mr. Hoults's face as he began to speak again. She would normally have called him cocky for assuming that she knew who he was but of course that would just be plain childishness coming from her if she did. He was the most popular and well known man in the world. A house hold name that amounted to that of a golden idol. Almost every man wanted to be him and nearly all women wanted to be with him. However that was not the case with Melani. She would rather eat shit and die than be one of those crazy fan girls. Really, she didn't see what was all that special about him. Sure, he wasn't unattractive, she would be lying if she said that she didn't feel an inkling of physical attraction towards the man. However, due to her training and plain dislike of the man, she had since ignored the sickening feeling.
"Ask me what you need." She responded simply, brushing a strand of her silky ebony hair out of her eyes. If one looked close they could see a slight Asian heritage by the shape of her face and her petite build but that was a few generations past. She was a tad curious as to what questions she would need to answer. Melani was sure that they would have been given a file to look over that was full of all relevant information. She knew that her boss would have done that but maybe there was some missing information---or maybe he was just a bit nosy, she mused in a silent unhappy dislike.
Her eyes quickly darted to the door, her right fingers twitching slightly as the maid knocked and then opened the door. It was obvious that she had started her duty the moment her client had entered the room. Other than the twitch and concentrated eye movement, she seemed relaxed and normal. She was still considered to be fresh from training, though she graduated second in her class, the only one above her a male who had been her bosses son. Her family had a long history of being in the military or protecting those whose loyalty they had given. Her older brother had died in the last war, leaving her with the family name to uphold. Her father had just retired and her mother had been a double spy. Melani hadn't seen her mother since her fourteenth birthday, the year she entered the academy.
Her eyes left the maid as soon as she had analyzed her body language and deducted her reason for being there. She was perceptive of those around her client along with Mr. Hoult himself. It was always best to pay attention to how they were reacting and feeling in certain situations. It was also pertinent that she figure out how he responded to certain people so that she would know how to act around him without causing too much trouble. Noting the tightening of his eyes, though mentioning nothing, she finally sat down across from him, waiting for his questions.

Nicholas looked up at her as she finally took a seat, relaxing a bit. "First I would like to say thank you for taking this position-its important to me and my staff. Next there are only a few questions i need to ask, you don't have to answer if you don't want to-I'm not forcing you to..." taking a sip of tea he waiting a second to let her absorb that information. the last guard he had thought he was a pusher and thought he was rude and obscene-thought it wasn't so. "One, Do you have a good mode of transportation? If not- would you object to staying here. Second, Do you have another who is sharing your time such as a significant other? I need to know this because if your on a 'date' then you can't on 'call' when i need you. Next, I need to know if--" He was interrupted by the door opening and his adviser, Roger Fultyick walking in.
"Good morning everyone-I'm assuming you have all gotten to know each other quite well so far. Hi-You must be the new body guard I've assigned to work with Nicky here. Your name was Melani right? Is it okay to call you that?"The man jabbered on, Nicholas wanted to punch him, he was so unprofessional. "Do not call me 'Nicky' again or I will have you fired." The man's smile didn't waver as he glanced at him nonchalantly. "Oh play nice kid-we have a guest. So Melani I'm glad you chose to take the position. Are you a fan?" He asked in a salesman's manner. When the man spoke it made people wanna hit him because he didn't have a shut off button. he always assumed wrong and he was just obtuse and irrelevant in most issues. The man was about 6'5" brown hair, and was living in the past. He wasn't too young any more and the only reason he hired the man in the first place was because he was his old manager's cousin and came recommended by her. "By the way I'm Roger Fultyick- I'm sure your boss has told you about me, we talked about the arrangement. Any how-Lovely weather we are having today huh?" Nicholas put his tea cup down with a sharp click, Roger looked at him a bit confused. "If you will let any one get a word in edge wise- maybe she could answer my questions...You did barge in and haven't stopped running your mouth yet. Now be silent till she is finished speaking. .Its rude." Roger looked a bit mad but sat there quietly, knowing he would get fired if he pushed Nicholas too far-he had a bad habit of that.
With the silence, Nicholas looked back at Melani, his face was tight till he took a deep breath, then smiled his best business smile," When ever you are ready..." He inclined his hand as in invite to her and not to Roger so he would stay quiet hopefully. He wasn't staring at her but looking at her in a polite manner so she wouldn't get the creeps if he stared at her. He hoped it wasn't too apparent that he disliked his adviser. He wasn't a man easily liked but it actually took effort to like him, like a clown-they creep-ed Nicholas out like non other- but he put up with them.

Leaning back in her seat, Melani listened to the man speak. Her eyes stayed on him but wandered, taking in his appearance fully as she had never seen him in real life. He was better looking in person, though you could see a few humanistic flaws that were covered up on television. She had to wonder though if he tried to hide his flaws or if others did that for him.
The door opened without a knock, Melani turning her head sharply to the intruder, eye twitching slightly at the boisterous personality of the new comer. She didn't dislike him immediately, though she could tell that her host wasn't too fond of his adviser. Her eyes flipped between the two men, keeping her attention on the speaker and trying not to smirk at the obvious tension in the air. Melani's expression was very neutral though her ebony locks fell into her face as she turned completely to the manager, ears listening, though thinking over Mr. Hoult's questions. They were indeed personal and quickly asked as well.
The sharp click of porcelain forced Melani's eyes back to her client. Sitting up strait again, she nodded. She would answer, though not right away; Melani wanted to see how silence affected them. After a minute or so, she cleared her throat gently. "First I will answer your questions." She began, looking at Mr. Hoult, azure eyes drilling into him.
"I generally ride the bus and do not own a car anymore. If you feel it best, I shall accommodate myself to living here." There was a flash of a tempered annoyance in her eyes at what she had just said, though she knew that it was in her job description to live on premise if needed. "Also, my file should have said so but if not I shall tell you now. I do not have a significant other of any kind and the only close family I have left is my father so there is no one consuming my time at all." They were simple answers, her voice cool as she spoke professionally about something that would have made most girls blush or feel bad about. It didn't bother her. It was life and that was that.
Turning her head slightly, her icy eyes landed on the adviser. Her tone when she said his name was that of ameusment, her eyebrows quirking some."Mr. Fultyick, you may call me whatever suits you unless it is unprofessional. I will tell you this now, I am here only to protect Mr. Hoult not you and I will not refrain from violence should you get in the way." Her tone was actually quite pleasant with this and she gave the poor man a smile. It would have been pretty on her, if she hadn't sent him a hint of a threat within her eyes to not disrespect her. She hated disrespect, that had been drilled into her since she was born. Continuing on as if the rest of his questions were pertinent, "To be quite honest I am not the biggest fan in the world." It was simple and only hinted that her favorite was his rival. "And yes, I do quite enjoy the weather we are having." It was the first hint of happiness that lit from inside of her eyes, thinking about the drops of rain that were falling from the sky. "Is there anything else?" She asked, turning towards her client, her expression back to its business like self.

Nicholas watched her intently as she answered his questions, knowing that she didn't have to answer them but she did, quick and simple-very professional. He nodded at the end of all her answers to make it seem that he was taking in the information but he was trying to to hurt Roger. He really needed to get a new manager but his lips quirked up into a true smile when she threatened his-but didn't at the same time. He only noticed this threat because her eyes left him. Watching her eyes pleasantly pass the threat he knew this could be amusing, to see how mad he could get her. She would probably kick his ass but he had to try to do it a few times at least. "Thank you- If you want-" He paused for a second to put his hands together in his lap towards his face," You don't have to stay here till I take a trip but I will request that if you don't stay here that you are escorted here every morning-or I shall pick you up on the way to work." He stated to her not really knowing if she wanted to stay here but he wanted to make sure she didn't feel trapped. He had seen how she had a subtle dislike to the notion, her body was riveted with dislike. He didn't know if she disliked him or if she disliked Roger or the job itself. Roger at the moment was smiling pleasantly back at Melani even though he was gauging her threat to the level of thinking of firing her but he was no longer in charge of that- Nicholas was. "Lovely, glad to have you on the team! If you would please give me your contact information, Your boss said you would provide it to me personally..." Roger was smiling a little sadistically, he was happy to still be in 'charge' of her- even though she was threatening him, he still felt safe; in his own little special mind.
Nicholas reached out and picked up his PDA from the table and glanced at it seeing something that made him frown a bit, "If you would please excuse me- I have a phone conference in my study in a few moments. You may look about the premises if you please.," Nicholas said as he got up but stopped and turned to roger for the final part,"Roger- Give her the passes for security- No place is closed to her but my private quarters." Roger looked at him from his calm look to a slightly shocked look. "So she doesn't get full security clearance?" Nicholas didn't answer but left the room with the door making a sharp click leaving the two in the room and left and open invitation for Melani to leave roger to his own devices and explore. When Roger didn't get answered he looked a little indignant and got up and followed after Nicholas, giving Melani a bit of a distrusting look.
Heading up to his office he heard heavy steps behind him on the stairs meaning Roger wasn't far behind him,he felt a headache coming on. The man could talk his ear off and he hated having him listen in on his meetings. He even tried closing the office door in his face but he kept walking in. Sighing he took his seat, straightening up his jacket . The phone then started to ring, closing his eyes, he took breath,When he opened them it wasn't because he was ready to answer the phone it was because Roger picked up the phone. Hew as sitting casually on Nicholas's desk with the phone on his shoulder so he could look at Melani's file further. "Hello?!--Oh Hi Mr. Morgan! yes I will pass the phone over right away." Nicholas was about it punch the man in the face. Taking the phone in a hostile manner he gave the man a glare. "Mr. Morgan from J.P. Morgan and Co. --He will be on the line in a moment please hold, thank you Mr. Hoult." The secretary said knowing roger and his bad habits most of the secretaries did now, they knew he was a nosy man. "Hoult?" "Yes, hello Josh-Hows it going today at the company?""When are you gonna fire that ass? He's so rude and he never shuts up..."The voice said with a laugh. That made him smile," I'll get to it..." The man talked for about half and hour. Roger was still nosing around hoping to hear about what was going on.

"In all honesty, Mr. Hoult, if I am escorted every morning or picked up by you, it will draw to much attention and make you an easier target for the group that is after you. I am fine with staying here. I have lived with my clients before so it is not something I am worried about. Plus, it will make it much easier to keep you safe." She responded, her voice portraying an attitude of indifference though the obviously thinking something different by the glint in her eyes. Her attention turned towards the adviser as he began to speak again. One of her eyebrows quirked at his smile. For the life of her she couldn't figure out why he would be giving her that kind of smile. She could be a bit daft sometimes despite her intelligence level. It shocked most people how completley out of it she was with certain subjects.
Pulling out another piece of paper, she handed it out to the adviser. She wasn't sure if the man was being honest but she was always prepared with information upon coming to a job the first day. If he was a good adviser than he would have written down all of her information upon receiving her file. Then again, this man didn't seem like he took the job as more than just a hobby. So she decided what the hell and gave him her information. "Let me know if there is anything else you might need." She told him, and then leaned back in her chair.
It was odd in her opinion that her boss hadn't automatically assigned her to live with him. After all he was a very high risk client that needed to be watched at all times, however she figured that Mr. Hoult didn't believe he was in that much danger in his own home. Really though, unless his private quarters were better protected, this place was a joke, well to her anyways. With her training she could break into the presidents safe room if need be, though that was a suicide mission in and of itself.
A soft sigh shifted the stand of hair that was in her face as she observed the happenings around her. Her client had a meeting to go to so she stood as he exited. Unfortunately, Mr. Fultyick didn't give her the security keys so she followed him silently. The distrusting look that he had given her was a bit disconcerting, however she was used to those kinds of looks. One thing she had been surprised about though was how neither of them seemed to make a comment on the fact that she was a female. All thoughts running through her mind, Melani waited outside of his office, not caring to listen in as it really didn't concern her.

During the call, Roger was poring himself into her file looking for a flaw- some thing to get her on. Nicholas watched him in the corner by the window totally oblivious to him. Getting out of his chair he left the office-closing the door quietly, looking to the side he noticed some one standing there, it was Melani. "Hello again, have you been waiting this whole while?" He figured she hadn't been given anything or any information so he himself started rummaging in his pockets to find the master set of keys and handed it to her. He didn't really need them-he never got to open many things for himself nowadays mostly the staff did it for him. it wasn't like he walked around his house much. "Here are the master keys- My private quarters' keys are there as well you have full access- Roger does not. pay him no mind please." He wasn't sure what her expression was going to be, but he finally looked up into her harsh eyes. In his opinion she must have been bored standing about this long, he had also given thought to her staying here it seemed slightly improper but he would let it go for now since he could cap the press on it. "You may select you room from one of the many about the manor. If you would like- I'm going to a public affair- You can begin today or would you like to have the day to explore and gather your things?" He wasn't sure if shew as ready for immediate work so he figured it polite to ask first, even if she worked for him now he still had manors for girls. It would have been rude if he didn't. As he looked at her he studied her, but that was interrupted by roger leaving the room and running into Nicholas. "Ouch-Hey! Oh Nicky! Try not to stand in door ways- you could get hurt. And you..." He said as his eyes fell on Melani," Well its almost time to go to that public speaking bit. I'll call the car around." He turned on his heel and went down the far stairs leaving them in the quiet with a slight rustle of curtains as a maid further down the hall opened them to let the halls air out a bit.

"Yes." She simply responded as her Mr. Hoult walked out of the door and addressed her. It was her job after all. Did he expect her to just wander about like some nimrod. Some hired hands he must have had before. It really wasn't that long of a wait and she had waited outside of an office for ten hours once. Ir was just life to her.
When he handed out his keys to her, Melani quirked her eyebrow. Taking them, she looked at each individual key as he spoke. Looking up at him, her blue eyes held a mix of humor and contempt. "I just hope you don't make it a habit to lie to your employees." She told him. It wasn't a threat, merely a statement. She needed him to trust her or else she couldn't do her job properly. Of course no one ever trusted her completley at first. That was normal, she just needed to be able to get proper information when needed.
Her eyes narrowed at his next sentence. She would gladly pick a room, but wait to start till tomorrow? That was as good as an insult to one in her position. "I do not take my job lightly, Mr. Hoult. I am here to protect you and since I am here I have already started. The only time I will ever be off duty is if I am dead. Any leisure time can wait. I will gather my things after your public affair. That is, if you would be so kind as to take me to my home, sir." With that icy tone, she turned towards the door and watched as his adviser crashed into him. A smirk tugged at her lips but she hid it well and watched the exchange, nodding when he looked to her.

He nodded at her threat and he couldn't help but smile at her. "I didn't lie, I just didn't tell the whole truth to whom I was speaking too...Roger isn't allowed in my private quarters-including my personal study, rooms and such. I don't trust him. I've had his for 6 years and I still don't trust him. As for your other request-granted. After the public hearing we are going to a dinner party then we will get your things. Also we need to discuss you payment options-hopefully with out Roger-hes' been reading your file as thought it were life and death and I have yet to even read it..." He told he in an informative tone but a smile. He didn't want to sound like he was talking down to her, because he wasn't but he wanted her to know her place. He turned down and followed the Way Roger had went-down the stairs. Once there the butler by the door had a jacket ready for him as well as an umbrella. It was starting to drizzle yet again. It had been doing that off and on all morning. Once in the car he driver held the door for Melani looking at her. "Are you getting in mam?" He asked her giving her a slightly puzzled look. Roger however pushed past them both and got into the car and sat next to Nicholas as thought they were good child hood friends only the other 'friend' wanted to kill the other. The cars destination was to the public court house for a simple business talk tot eh press about a merger with J.P. Morgan, as he had a conversation on the phone about what to say this morning. It was scheduled to be a short meeting but he knew there were going to be some crazy fans there-there always was.

Melani's face dropped upon hearing that they were to be heading to a dinner party. She broke eye contact with his face and looked down at her incredibly casual clothing. This was going to end well now wasn't it. A small little smile formed on her lips though when he mentioned not even having read her file. It was a sarcastic smile though. "Payment options will be filed through my superior unless you decide to hire me on permanently." In the back of her mind she was praying that, that would never happen. Her smile faded soon, though the disbelief that he wouldn't even bother getting to know who she was or prior job experiences before hiring her was a bit silly in her opinion. "That man can look all he would like. I have nothing shameful to hide. My life is that of a shield, nothing more."
With that comment she closed her mouth and walked slightly behind him on the way to the car. The driver gave her a puzzled look but she gave him a sweet smile. "Not in the back, but I will join you upfront." She responded and walked around the driver, opening the front passenger door, and sliding in. Hired hands always in the front of such a car. That was how things went. She still was a tad bit worried about her attire; that was the last time she dressed civilian for a client such as this. She could have gone in her work suit. That would be appropriate but no, her boss had neglected to mention anything about a public showing her first day on the job.
Sneaking a look out of the corner of her eye, Melani saw how Mr. Hoult's adviser was acting. It was amusing to her, how obvious her client was about disliking the poor man. She could see how he would be annoying and yes she really could go without his attitude but Mr. Hoult had been the one who had hired him. Why did he put up with it if he didn't like him?

When she decided to sit in the front with the driver Nicholas was a little put out. 'She didn't wanna come and play cards? Shame...''He was thinking about her pay- he hadn't arranged it yet and if Roger got his way she wouldn't get payed, that wasn't acceptable. Pressing the intercom button from the back Roger paged the driver,"Don't forget that we need to stop a dress shop for Ms. Rulinu. We can't have her looking so trashy- we will swing by the house and get her before we head out for dinner." Roger was oblivious tot he fact that she was even in the car. Nicholas head the muttered conversation and he started to laugh, Roger's head came up in surprise of hearing such a noise form him that wasn't fake. The driver glanced in the mirror as Mr. Hoult rolled down the tinted glass pane between the cab and the passenger area. "We don't need to stop, we will do that another day when she is settled in at the manor. Straight to the meeting, then to Ms. Melani's place of residence." The smile couldn't wiped off his face when he saw Roger's expression, it was a priceless shock that he straight up insulted her thinking she wasn't there only to find out she was in fact there. Roger was quiet and turned around to face the back of the cab where Nicholas was seated, a glare on his very red face. He wouldn't say a word but Nicholas was sure he was pissed, that made him kinda happy when he made some ones day worse when they needed it. He was too noisy for his own good. Roger was a close second to his skills in the manager's field. Ceria was the top of her profession and was much more enjoyable to be around but this man was almost intolerable-almost. He got the job done and kept his files straight. The driver was about to pull up to the front entrance where there were indeed a crown to get into the meeting , some were indeed screaming fan girls-that were always there to haunt him. The driver put it in park, getting out and opening the door, Roger getting out first-Nicholas stayed up knowing the procedure with security people, they had to be present before they got out of the car. "Melani?"[/b] Roger looked impatient," Hurry it up. Your gonna be late."

Well trashy was a little much, Melani thought. Looking down at her outfit she guessed that she didn't look as nice as one might have hoped. Her outlet store clothing was cheap. She had more expensive clothing but that was for work and she had been specifically told to not dress that way. Melani also came to the conclusion that the adviser hadn't known she was in the car, especially since she heard Mr. Hoult laughing.
Turning her head to the back as the window was opened, Melani got a good look at the expressions on the two of their faces. It was interesting to see and she kept it noted that she would just have to discount most of what the adviser had said. She turned back around and didn't say anything. She was actually a little upset that she hadn't been informed sooner about a public appearance. She was not well enough prepared in case something were to happen. But, Melani figured that she would have to make due with what she had.
Taking a hidden deep breath, Melani ignored both of the men and got out of the car. An assault of noise hit her from the fans and media present. Walking around to the door that Mr. Hoult was on, she opened it and waited for him to get out. All this time she had been looking around and determining the safety of the situation. It was never safe with such a large crowed but she hadn't sensed and hostility yet. She had already formulated an escape plan and found the appropriate exits that would be effective. "Don't run off without me, Sir." She cautioned him by whispering in his ear after he had gotten out. She was going to stay near him, though she wouldn't need to be next to him when speaking. As long as she would jump out in front of him, that would be fine. Blinking some, she blocked out all necessary noises as Melani didn't particulalry like crowds. They could turn bad in a moments notice.
