She smiled at him when he mentioned not being called officer. "Well then Logan I won't implicate your career. My apologies. And yes I'm curious... You have a fire there in your eyes. Its strange because its not a normal one... Its a tormented one. I don't need you story so don't explain- willing or not. I believe we all have secrets for a reason. It makes us who we are. I'm just here to vent and talk and have a night cap." She rambled yet again however it was a bit more obvious because her cheeks were a pale red from the alcohol. She was a bit more than tipsy, not hat she cared but it made her mouth run a bit much. " Sorry...I ramble when I'm tispy... If you want em to shut up just lemme know." She said her green eyes on his face watching for a reactions asshe was trained to do from a young age to see what the human was reacting to so she could adapt her tactics to suit them better.
------------
Ian walked into the bar not long after he watched Laurel walk into it, he was suspicious she had been here a few nights in a row- it was strange to him to see her frequenting places like a human would. Watching the exchange at the bar and the man who had come in behind him was irritating however when Laurel seemed familiar with him he focused on him, his silvery eyes on his intently, he felt a wave of jealousy flash threw him. He couldn't explain it but he felt like ripping this human to bits-soul or not- because of this. Sitting he had his hand fisted under the table, knuckles white, the hold on his water a death grip as he watched the two.

Logan took his beer but kept listening to what Laurel was saying. In a way he was a bit lost as to why she was concerning herslef with him. She was a young, pretty girl. Why was she hanging around a bar with a tired cop? Then again, she had the makings of a drinker. She blushed and rambled, it was cute. But the topic in a way wasn't so nice. She saod he had a tormented fire in his eyes, that it was due to a secret. He hardly found anythng in his life to be a secret, but he was happy she didn't want him to explain. Not that he would answer. He gave her a shake of his head. "Nah, its all good. Better someone talks, than no one." He said before taking a drink. He could hear a table nearby talking about the murders as of late and he gave the slightest of audible breaths. "I would say it's usually quiet around here, but everyone's stirred up recently."

She glanced at him when he said stirred up," How so?" She muttered curious now, her eyes on him now. She was curious, and when a demon was curious it was like a cat- it couldn't be helped. Her eyes were curious and her body was inclined towards him in a way to open a conversation about this topic. "How is it that you think things threw more than I do? I'm a young one but I have been some things in my days... How is it you feel these people are stirred up? They seem tense not stirred up..."Her voice was demanding and her face was serious but her lips made it seem like she was playing with him, like a cat playing with a mouse.

Logan raised a brow at her. How so? With the media blowing things out of proportion, the police had already decided to make a statement that they didn't think the murders were in any way tied. People were quick to react when things got bad, and when one of the upper crust got hit violently, the panic went down the chain of thier friends. "I think things through because I'm a cop. And not to mention, you seem to consider things closely yourself. The pillow comment you made earlier nearly gave Joey a heart attack." He was starting to leave the zone of sober at the moment and wasn't paying attention to what he said around her. He noticed that smile and gave her one of his own. "Are you challenging my ability to read people, miss?" He asked though he mostly kidding.

"An occupation doesn't matter, exclude that, make it more personal. That comment wasn't a coincident-I happen to think that most things in life aren't. However I do know that you were following me!" She snapped as she jumped out of her chair and pointed an accusing finger at her brother whom looked like a deer in the head lights. He stuttered a moment before he composed him self and smiled at his pissed off sister, who was tipsy not a good mix. She had a fiery temper when drinking. "I'm only following you because I was worried." Her eyes narrowed at him," Don't you dare feed me that bull shit. We both know you don't have a worried bone in your body!" She retorted to him in a snarly tone making damn good and sure he understood she hated being followed. He frowned," You underestimate me... I do care.. when It concerns me and my way of life." She made a noise that sounded like a snort as she tried not to laugh. "Right... okay... sure..." She said turning to teh bar and downing the rest of her bush mills and got her purse and paid the bartender over the amount paid, looking at the bartender she smiled a small drunken smile. " I'm paying for Logan, Drinks on me." When she turned her face got scary and her brother went a bit pale. It was only directed at him since most people moved away from the two especially the people in between them. The brother's face was visible by the whole bar since he was against the wall and she went past him to leave the bar, he slid into his seat slowly after she left, his face pale, shaking a bit. He forgot how scary his little sister was. Even in human form she was a nasty piece of work- just like their mother. Taking a sip of his water he sat there trying to calm himself.
----------- Laurel took a taxi home figuring her brother would bring the car. He did have a spare set of keys to it any how. Fumbling for the keys she dropped them and bent to get them, groaning when she felt the liquor sloshing in her stomach, she hated that feeling.

Logan's eyes widened a bit when she started rambling about the comment she made about the pillow not being a coincidence. That was what she was rambling about right? And then suddenly, before he could get her to continue on that point, she was whirling around and yelling at some guy behind her. He didn't look familiar either but damn was she giving him an ear full. It reminded Logan of Maggie when she got on her soap box. The guy looked pale as ice at all her yelling though he tried to play it cool. Maybe he was an ex boyfriend or friend or relative. Whoever he was he was in the dog house for a while. He hardly expected that kind of fury to come out of a girl her size but then again, most women were careful to hide their fits till you were stuck with them. When she left and covered his drinks, Logan looked to the poor guy she put the hurt on and raised his glass. "Women at their finest." He said and Davis even raised a shot himself before downing it, his own mind thrown through a loop at how such a pretty thing could wind up so angry.

Looking at the man at the bar he smiled, Face still pale. "Indeed, she is one hell of a thing. I haven't seen her in a year after all...I forgot how scary she could be." He took another sip of his water. It was going to be a long night. He stayed there then when he stopped having shaken knees he stood up and approached the man at the bar," Who are you and why are you hanging out with her?" He asked his voice calm and low. He wasn't sure about this guy he never liked talking to other men, just females.

Logan knew the feeling of having strong willed women in his life. That was his entire family, since he was the only male, besides his father and a nuetered beagle, in the family. He gave the man a small shrug before he went back to enjoying his drink and silence. He was the type that was comfortable in both silence and noise. He really didn't care either way, especially when he was drinking. He sensed someone walk up to him and he wasn't quite surprised when he heard the voice of the man Laurel had yelled at. however he was surpsied when he asked him as to who he was and what he was doing talking to Laurel. Logan gave him a raise of his brow a small smirk coloring his features. "Ah, I'm Logan Kincade...And Laurel has been hanging around here lately. We talk, not hang out." He said, wanting to clarify with whoever this was that this was simply a speaking basis. He had no ulterior motives or intentions, not that anyone would really need to worry about him having in the first place.

"So you aren't tied to her with 'work' good, I was worried for a few moments."His voice was quiet when he mentioned her work, but he composed this face," I should be going I need to grab the car since she left it here. Have a good Night Logan Kincade. I'm sure I'll see you again." He walked out of the bar like it was a clothing show his eyes only on the door. He bumped into a person or two but only apologized to the ladies as he passed.
-------- Laurel woke up the next morning with a splitting head ache, rolling out of bed she jumped in the shower, which helped a little bit. Dragging a brush threw her red mess she sighed, letting it hang and threw on the first outfit she could match. Tennis shoes, Jeans, and a tank top under a gossamer baby doll. Heading out she saw her car out front like she guessed it would be. Getting in, the keys stuffed under the seat- so like her brother to be too lazy to bring them in the house. Driving a little distance she made her way to the coffee place, parking a block down she walked there, getting cat called by morning construction works on duty on their 'break' at the moment. Ignoring them she slipped into the line getting her usual and took a seat in the front of the store this time- the ONLY available seat at a bigger table but she just wanted to sit and drink her coffee in peace, if theses humans would let her. It was hard enough just living with her brother out side of contracts, she loved the bugger but he was so annoying.

"Work?" Logan muttered before downing the rest of his drink. He hardly understood what the man had meant by that but he could hardly care less. It was her business, not his...but why he was worried Logan would be involved with her 'work'? He stumbled his way to a taxi, since this time around he was in a bit more of a stupor than he was yesterday. He honestly didn't even worry about his clothes in the bed, his uniform already hung in his closet and his phone beside him just in case work called. He drifted out of conciousness just as his phone gave a light vibrate...
"Logan you lying bastard!" A glass flew at his head and he was forced to duck out of the way before it hit him. Logan heard the glass smash against the bar counter, above him and he slowly slipped upwards to try and catch sight of the person trying their damndest to hit him. No sooner had the person seen movement, a bottle was flung that missed his head by an inch, shattering on the glass wall infront of him and making it crack. He cursed as expenisve whiskey sprinkled him from the spray of alcohol. It was a pretty foul smell to have on your clothes, especially when you were still on duty. "What the hell is wrong with you woman?!" He snarled and he heard the girl give a flippant noise of distaste. "You're going to arrest me!" She hissed and Logan made a face at his relflection in the now cracked glass wall. "Well yeah, sweet heart, assulting an officer is an offense--" "Not for that! And don't you get that tone with me--And don't call me sweet anything, Kincade, you are in serious trouble." Another glass was thrown this time missing by a long shot. Logan gave a sigh and knew he wasn't getting out of this one. In seconds he was up to his feet and around the counter of the clubs bar. He slipped up to her left side and caught the woman pretty much in lengerie on her side. He lifted her up in the process, arms pinned at her sides as she struggled and shrieked. "You are being ridiculous, Ally. Just shut up for a second and let me talk!" Allison shook her head violently, her hair hitting him in the face. The other cops in the room were watching the display with either humor or wide eyes. A few of the men were laughing since they knew this was a twisted version of a lovers quarrel between the two. "Ally listen. When I said I needed to take you to the station, it's not because I am arresting you but because you were a witness to Darius's dealings in the arms buisness. You're not even getting cuffed!--" "Bull! You're just saying that so I'll go quietly. Dinna got told the something like that last month and your buddies carted her off to prison!" She squirmed in his grip but he hardly relented. In fact she was starting to make him mad at this point. "Allison, trust me you're not going to jail. Dinna was arrested because of drug charges. There isn't any reason for you to go to jail! You're totally clean! So will you calm down?" She refused to listen to him to the point she was almsot frantic. Finally Logan knew he had to do it. Without a moments pause he let her go and quickly cuffed her. Allison's face was a mask of painted shock as she stared back at him, before her eyes narrowed angrily. "Logan Jae Kincade...take these cuffs off me right now or you are going to be one sorry man for the rest of your life." She said in a low, threatening tone, though Logan simply gave her a raise of his brow and gave her a small push forward. Allison was livid at that point and was so the entire drive down to the police department. Joey looked like he was about to die laughing in his seat at all the obsenities and threats she made, one including him being him sleeping on the floor for the rest of his life if she even wanted to stay with him after this. Needless to say the threat was a hollow one after a long statement from her with a buddy cop of Logan's who quickly turned her back over to him to deal with for the night...
Logan rubbed his eyes as Joey drove, his head aching from the lack of sleep he recieved that night. That memory of Allison had messed with him a bit, since it was the only fight they had really ever had that lasted that entire time it did. He figured out why she was adement about staying away from prisons. It was due to the fact her mother was carted off to prison, placing Allison in foster care at a young age. She had a major phobia of jails and even handcuffs. Odd that she would marry a cop... something she didn't let Logan forget. But she was easy to soothe with sincere apologies and a bit of romancing. After all, Allison wasn't a tough person to figure out or please. He wanted off that train of thought and quickly looked to his destination and saw it was the office again for another round with the cheif. This time he hoped the guy had more news on the recent murders than previously..

Laurel finished her coffee and walked out side, the weather was a bit hot but it was bearable. She needed to do some light shopping and maybe find some more 'work' she was feeling a bit low after using a few souls while she worked the full year. Heading to the store just down the block she passed a few alleys. Dark, dank and suspicious that made her smile, a she stepped into one and after a few steps had some ones hand about her throat with a knife pressed there. it was very dull more like a table knife- not sharp enough to cut her at all . " Don't scream just give me everything you have and I might let you live." The man said in a very quiet tone in her ear sounding like he was hard on times and was a thug in the alleys. She smirked, " How about I give you something better, how about an eternal wish...You can have anything you heart can desire?" The man's hands shook for a second, " Your lying, you can't do that for me..." " I am a demon... Let me help you... Let me show you something." She extended her fingers a bit and changed her form a bit as well into her more demon like composure. Her hands grew looking like smoke at first then reshaping with long green nails that were sharp as knives, her eyes a glowing eerie green, her skin getting a darker more olive color and the air around her felt slick like an oily feeling on would get from baby oil. The man dropped the knife and stared wide eyed at the woman or thing rather, then got a cruel smile, " Alright, I want to be rich again.and I want my dead wife." laurel smiled, " First a contract. Then we shall start..." He repeated the contract and Laurel smiled at him sweetly. "Here you are..." She pulled out of thin air more or less after a wisp of smoke came to her hand materializing in a bag filled with $100 bills, more than $40 mill was in the bag easily. The man's greedy eyes glittered and snatched away the bag and went threw it to see if there were any traps. There weren't of course however he didn't know that it would poof out of existence in a short while any how, that's how demon magic worked it was cruel that way. Closing her eyes she looked into what the current contractors wife used to look and act like and took those memories from him and made her self a shell to look like her as well as to speak and act, as was a common demon trick- only she was only fooling this man because if he admitted she was his dead wife then his contract was complete. When the man returned his focus on where the demon was he saw his wife, just how he remembered her, her hair was shortly cropped and blonde, her blue eyes, bone slender frame, and her smile. He smiled at her and looked about not seeing the demon, but shaking his head he left the bag of money on the ground and went to her. Wrapping his arms about her tightly he started crying, " Its you... Oh how I've missed you my Lo---." Before he could call her his love she got a nasty grin and her fingers were immediately threw his heart. His lips parted he pulled back a little to see his dead wife with a nasty grin on her now screwed up face. Blood slowing coming out of his mouth his eyes started fading till His heart stopped spacing, that made her smile. Discarding the shall she went over to the bag ans pulled out some money, pocketing it for the store. She kissed his lips softly and took in his soul, it was a sad soul, one that made her feel rather cold for taking but it was a worth while one, it soothed the itch for more. Leaving the body of the man there she went on to the store. She wasn't particular concerned with anything now, just getting more pop tarts, she loved those things, and perhaps a pair of shoes... She deserved a new pair after all her hard work.

Logan was stuck in another one of the long winded briefings that the cheif was giving them. He was rambling about current security policy, changes in patrol and a few things about recent cases. Logan's mind was too busy wandering to the case from yesterday. Still no word from autopsy on murder weapon or even if the perp was close up or far away. The struggle shown at the crime scene hardly was consistent with usual traces. Perhaps it was a deal gone wrong where someone hired a killer to take him out. Logan highly doubted it, especially since the only description the kid had given was a woman with green eyes and red hair. That could account for a nice sized portion of the city of Chicago, not to mention if the victim wasn't hallucinating or hopped of on something at the time of the attack. He rubbed his eyes, just as the door opened and in came a feamle officer, holding a pen and paper. She whispered soemthign to the Chief who looked unhappy to be interrupted but was soon withdrawn. "Alright men, dismissed. District 13, out, you've got a call." Logan stood, Joey not far behind along with a handful of other cops. However, Logan was stopped at the door by the female cop. "Kincade, you've got a call at your desk." Logan raised a brow but quickly went to his desk to check up on who it was. He lifted the phone and instantly regretted it. "Logan, Davis told me about you last night! Didn't I tell you yesterday that mom and I are worried about you and that drinking?" Logan's eye twitched and for a moment he wondered if he could make Maggie understand what a pest she was being by the glare he was giving the desk at the moment. "Mags, I'm going out on a call, can't talk." He grumbled about to hang up but he heard a little voice fumbled to say something in the background. "Logan wait, Shay wants to say something," He could hear the matter of fact tone in her voice and knew she was getting ready to use the kids innocence to guilt him. "Maggie don't-" "Uncle Logan, you're coming to visit grandma and grandpa today right?" Logan's annoyance eased as he heard his niece's voice, that light and sweet tone that could melt away anyone's anger instantly. "Well, well, I'll have to see about work okay-" "Mommy says lying and you better come or she'll tell your mommy." Brice, his nephew, chimmed into the phone, his four year old voice with missing tooth lisp making him sound ridiculously childish. "Okay..okay." Logan chuckled before giving the phone a light drum. "I'll be there." ~~~ Maggie was furious when Logan hung up. How dare her brother treat her worrying over him like it was nothing! He was leading himself down an empty track all this time, all over that Allison girl. She was just the start of that train wreck his life had become. Once he was such a nice guy, all smiles and good times. Now he was bitter and drunk all the time--okay not all the time but enough so that her friend Davis told her often that he has trouble getting home. It's not that she didn't trust Logan, but she was just worried about him. She sighed and flipped her phone and quickly dialed her husband as she searched through the clothing rack in the shop. She had a view of Brice and Shay only moments ago, the two kids playing in the clothes and playing with the jewlery and shoes. She scolded them lightly but could hardly control the kids curiousity. They had Logan and Ellen's personalities, strong willed and determined. When she heard her husbands voice she went on to talk to him about Logan and how she thought about confronting him tonight at dinner. He ofcourse tried talking her out of it, but Maggie wouldn't budge. She was a Kincade, she didn't budge easily on anything...

At the check out counter a tween was checking her out and was giving her an impossible look. She had gotten 50 boxes of pop tarts, 7 pairs of shoes and a water. She paid in cash and left as usual and had a smile on her lips. She was going to eat 7 boxes when she got home, she loved those damned things- it was the closest to food she found with the human's. Driving home she mused about how her brother was still pouting over being screamed at. He was rather annoying when he was pout y. Unlocking the door she found the house a bit of a clothing trap- only problem was that there was a woman's clothes about with her brothers. Putting her pop tarts and shoes away she took a sip of her Fiji water, it was kinda room temperature now but it was still good. Walking up stairs to the loft she glanced at her brother's bedroom door, it was cracked open. Walking over to it she opened the door all the way and looked in, looking at the mess it was. There indeed in the midst of the mess and her brother and a broad in bed- both passed out. Shaking her head she backed out, then collected the piles of clothes and threw them into the bedroom, closing the door. Her brother hasn't had that human habit when she had left last time- why suddenly develop one. Human's were gross and sick and he could possibly have a half demon born running about if he wasn't careful. Human's were breed able turf.

Another day, another wierd case. Logan found Joey by the body, his eyes glued to the examiner as he flipped the man over. His heart was peirced with the round hole, like the mob boss. This time there was no recognition in the man. He was just a common day thief, not some drug trafficer. He moved past the cars and saw that another cop had a man pinned to the car and they were searching him. Logan came up beside Joey, taking in the scene before he looked to the stunned man. "Whats the story?" Joey swallowed and seemed to snap out of his thought. "Vic. was in this alley we think, we found some cash on him and a knife, some stollen goods." Logan motioned to the man behind him. "And that guy?" "Was caught collecting some of the Vic.'s possessions. The other guys are shaking him down now." Logan nodded but knelt to look at the body. The man was young though he wasn't in his prime state. He was dirty not only because he was on an alley floor with rigor set in due to the fact it had been a couple hours since someone had called it in. He shook his head and looked away. That hole over his heart...no way that this was just a coincidence right? But why would someone target a theif. It could be a shot but the blood splotch was too different. Wha tthe hell was going on in this city

7 cups of coffee and 6 boxes of pop tarts later her brother finally woke up. He walked out of the room, stretching and yawning however his smile disappeared when he laid eyes on his sister sitting at his desk, looking at him. His eyes narrowing into a glare he looked at her," What are you doing at my desk?" She smiled as she noticed he was awake. "Playing minesweeper...I had to do some quiet activity to keep your guest asleep, your clothes are in your space now by the way-you honestly didn't think I would have a problem with that human trash being here?! SLEEPING here?!" She said in a harsh hushed voice. She hated having human's in her house unless it was a contracted one, then there was a perfectly explained thing for it. However he didn't seem contracted, his behavior was the same. "Is she contracted?" He stared back at her blankly," No... It was a one night stand... She will be gone when she wakes up- chill." Her eyes narrowed now," Contract her or I'll kill her... Do it now so so help you." His eyes got a bit big and he smiled at her," Kill her, she wasn't a good fuck anyhow." He passed her and went into the bathroom, Laurel huffed looking pissed off. Standing up she finished her coffee then entered the bed room, sitting on the bed and smiled at the sweet looking girl, her eyes a deep green as she stroked the girls face for her to wake up thinking it was her brother. Having a shell worked like a dream since when she opened her brown eyes she saw her brother there beside her. "Good morning..." Laurel smiled at her," Yes, I have a proposition for you, wanna play around a little?" She said in her brothers voice, that only made the girl smile some more. "Absolutely." That made her smile in an almost sick fashion as he pinned her down and cut her up, not killing her but hurting her bad enough to need the hospital, and when she passed out Laurel wrapped her naked bloodied body in a sheet and left her in the park. She didn't care it would serve her brother right and the human scum for coming into her place of residence and filthy it up. Heading home she herself hopped int the hot shower, and turned on the TV so she could hear it while she showered, in case something funny came up.
