Logan was one of the first to leave the scene. He went to speak with Joey's sister about anything else coming out of labs with the the victim from yesterday's murder. She said nothing had really changed, except they found high levels of coke in his system and that the object that killed him wasn't a bullet, screw driver, or knife. It was too clean and well, had a rather weird entry. Straight through the center, precise and deadly...no reports came in on the hair or even the chances that the vic. today could be connected. It was all in the dark. He took off for his break after wards and changed into his civilian clothes to go at least for a run before he was forced to get back to work. The closest place was Millennium Park and it seemed like a likely place to get some quiet. Lord knows Logan needed quiet before he snapped. He started out near the fountain and worked his way outwards. He passed by families and others going about their lives, couples with dogs, an even a few father and son outings. Everyone was living and enjoying the world, even when the city was such a dangerous place. Ba things were happening everyday to people just like them, and they still stayed happy? Logan swallowed the anger the thought brought. He couldn't blame people for being naive. It was a way they safe guarded their humanity and kept themselves sane. He was jogging by the path where the trees met the road when he heard a shriek. Instantly his head snapped in the direction to find a woman and her dog in one of the open expanses of the park. Out of duty and obligation he jogged over to her only to find what she was screaming about.... An hour or so later the news network was going wild with the story of a woman found mamed in the park, by another young woman and her dog. The woman was frantic as she explained how her dog suddenly ran off and she found him sniffing at a bloody sheet. They then went to say that an officer off duty made the call when he spotted the woman. Logan's voice came over the TV from the call he made to the police. He sounded calm and collected, slightly irritated as well. The reporter went on to showing the injured woman being wheeled away on a stretcher. Suddenly the woman was thrashing and she grabbed Logan's shirt with a bloodied hand. She rasped something to him and the paramedics tried to brush her hand off of him. Logan shook his head and started speaking with the paramedics before they finally relented. The injured woman seemed relieved by something and passed out again as they loaded her into the ambulance. The reporter tried to ask a rather serious looking Logan what she had said but he brushed them off as he headed back to the station.

Stepping out of the shower her eyes fell on Logan on the TV, that made her smile,"So you are involved in these little things... Curious." Towel drying her hair she dressed and went out to the park to get a glimpse on what she had left and how it had escalated. At the park there were swarms of news teams trying to get pictures of the bloody sheet and that's when she scowled, Her hand print was on it, On the out side. It was hers because the shell didn't change prints. Her scowl made it seem like she hated the scene here but ti was for her stupidity. Going around the crowd she looked for the examiners truck and found the sheet being placed in a bag then on a shelf in a truck by the victim. Smacking her cheeks a bit she made her face flush then rushed over to the truck,"Thats my sister?! Let me over there!" She slipped threw the lines and over to the truck and brushed the girls' hair out of her face, she already knew Logan wasn't around and she made sure the camera wasn't around her or on her. That wouldn't be the best, When the medical gal looked away she slipped off and as she passed the truck took the sheet, just before the man locked it. Slipping back into the crowd no one saw a thing or suspected a thing. Her bag was big enough to hold the sheet and it was red so it was colored if anyone saw anything. Heading home and placed the sheet in the fireplace and burned it, then sat and had another cup of coffee. She was going to be up all night at this rate. Her brother was waiting for her to return and he wasn't happy when she got back, he helped her burn the evidence though. " Is she dead?" " No, alive I have killing females their souls smell so rank to me." He smiled and had a seat next to her and wrapped n arm around her knowing that she was just trying to protect him in her own little way. "Your such a sweet sister to me... You take very good care of me, Thank you Laurel." She smiled ans laid her head on his shoulder," Your welcome, Its so hard to keep up with your human fetishes nowadays.. Its been so long..." " I will try to stop them... its a bad habit, it will take time." She nodded," Just contract them when they are drunk... they won't know better." " Thats a weak contract... I don't like those." She rolled her eyes and just watched the fire will she felt her brother's heart slow down and his breathing slow, since he had fallen asleep.

Logan was back to the station soon enough and was instantly swamped with questions pertaining to the discovery of the woman. Logan didn't answer much, just went into the locker room to go and get changed out of his bloody clothing. The woman had left a Nast smear that would stain the shirt soon enough. He shrugged it off and was in the process of putting back on his uniform when Joey came in. "Hey man, heard about the park. That's crazy." Logan gave Joey a look that was hardly spared its angry heat. "Crazy? A woman was nearly killed." Joey jumped a little at his reaction. "Yeah man I know. What are you so touchy for?" Logan slammed the locker shut. His anger was building and he hardly understood why. Perhaps it was the reason the woman was around Allison's age, maybe it was the terrified look in her eyes when she whispered "Help me. Please--talk later." A tremble went through him as he struggled to compose himself. He'd go to the hospital later to make sure to talk with her. "It's nothing. No one gets it." He Huffed only making Joey more confused. "Logan, what--" "Just drop it about the woman already!" Joey jumped back and nearly ran into someone behind him. He looked back to find the Chief there, looking with narrowed eyes at Logan. Logan's eyes widdened a bit but his look was still serious and cold as stone. "Kincade, you don't talk to another officer that way." Logan's gaze didn't leave the chiefs and he struggled not to let a scowl plague his features. The chief noticed and instantly jerked his finger to the door. " take the day off to clear your head." Logan looked shocked and went to protest but the chief simply stared back at him. Logan's jaw snapped shut and he took in a breath through his nose before going to his desk to collect his things before heading home. It would be hours before the girl was out of surgery and until then he had nothing else to do. He went uP to his apartment and quickly changed out of the bloody shirt and went to find something better. He still had to go entertain his family for a while to get them off his back.

Laurel sighed, it was time to get her brother to bed, he was obviously tired. Dragging him upstairs she put him to bed, making sure to put new sheets down first. heading out after that she went to the pub- ti was her usual haunt now, it made her smile to see Davis there behind the bar, having a seat there she smiled at him. "Hello, Davis. I'm gonna guess Mr. Logan isn't here yet..." She smiled and ordered some food and a glass of Guinness, those went well together. It was crazy how much Demon's consumed a day food wise however they never were truly full. ((Sorry so short, work time))

Davis looked up from his work when he saw the red haired girl there, a miss Laurel by her tab information. She was the one he'd seen with Logan quite a few times, odd in a way for him. She seemed to be the only person he actually tolerated to drink with. Davis gave her a slight smile when she asked about Logan. "Nah, he'll be in later than usual. But he will be here no doubt. He's got the home visit tonight." He placed the glass he was working on down and gave her a small look. It was an unreadable curiousity till he finall decided to ask her. "Though I might steer clear of him then if I was you. His family puts the guy out of sorts usually." He said, wondering how she might respond. ~~~ Logan straightened his shirt collar, much like a man would tighten the knot on his own noose. He might as well have been due to where he was headed. Where he was going, it was a painted picture of the suburbs. The green rolling lawns, the white picket fences, and even the ugly little landscaped trees. There his parents lived along with his siblings in houses not too far away. It was the house they grew up in, with the same neighbors they had since moving there day one. It was like going back in a time vortex just seeing the place. Logan wasn't dreading the pristine homes or location, it was the people he'd be dealing with. He could tolerate his mother on a good day, his father was always easy to get along with, Ellen was usually quiet, but it was Maggie he was dreading. He pulled up into the drive and gave himself a few long breaths before he got out and went to the door. The rule of the house was that you could just walk in, the door never was locked. He went in and was instantly bombarded by two shrill cheers. "Uncle Logan!" He looked to the left into the living room and found his neice and nephew running toward him with the beagal trotting behind them. Logan knelt and caught Brice first then Shay who clung to his leg. "Hey kiddies. Where's mommy and Aunt Ellen?" He said but he didn't have to look far. As soon as he hauled Brice over one shoulder he saw Ellen coming around the corner, her baby bump getting in the way when she attempted to plant a kiss on his cheek and hug him. "Nice to see you Logan." "Nice to see me? Look at you. That husband treating you well?" He looked up and saw her husband at the counter that divided the living room and kitchen with Maggie's husband. He raised a beer to Logan in greeting which Logan returned with a raise of his hand in greeting. Maggie poked her head out of the kitchen and narrowed her eyes when she saw Logan, but she was smiling. "Logan, just in time for dinner." she said and Logan gave her a wink. He intentionally avoided social hour in the household. The faster he got out of there, the better.

She smiled as she talked to him, only when he warned her at the end her smile disappeared. " I think every ones family does that, hell even my own family does. I apologize by the was about yesterday night... My brother was following me again. I hate that. And I do believe its my choice with whom I consort with, but thanks." She wasn't snarly or rude but polite, since he was just a dull witted human after all. She hated being told what to do since she got a bit older she grew up a lot and fast, she hated people who thought they knew everything- like her brother and most other humans. She took a sip of her drink and looked about the bar just waiting for Logan, she found him comfortable to talk too oddly enough and He was interesting she was curious.

Dinner went by without much of a problem. Everyone talked and joked, even Maggie was pleasant with Logan. Logan mostly talked with his father about the going on's in the police department till his mother cut them off. "That's enough talk of work. Besides the police have been too busy lately with all these horrible crimes lately." His father gave a shrug. "Nothing different, just a bit more frequent." Ellen's husband, Robert, looked up from his meat loaf at Logan. "But hey have yall found anything on those murders? It's crazy to think-" "Not infront of the children Rob." Maggie scolded and the man gave her an apologetic frown. Logan on the other hand looked slightly annoyed. "Oh come on, Mags. Dad talked about work infront of us all the time. Made us better people I think." Maggie gave him a slight narrow of her eyes. "No, it just made a cynnical." "Mommy what's cynnical mean?" Shay asked and Maggie's husband snickered. "It means unhappy baby doll." Ellen gave him a shake of her head and looked to Logan with a slightly tired look. "I don't want to hear about death right now..." Maggie motioned to Ellen with wide eyes as if that proved a point. "I agree, let's have dessert." Logan shook his head. "Nah sorry. I gotta head out. I have something I need to look into for work." He said, meaning visiting that girl at the hopsital before visiting hours were over. His mother looked shocked and his father looked confused. "You just got here son." He said and his mother shook her head. "No honey, you'll at least stay for desert. Shay helped make it and I want the family to be together to try it." Logan gave his mother an exasperated look. "Look I'd love to. But I can't--" "Logan just calm down. Work can wait man." Robert said, recieving a rather harsh look from Logan. "Oh really? Enlighten me Rob on who you think works on the cases when I'm sitting here enjoying cookies with the fam huh?" "Other cops." Maggie's husband, Evan, joined in, only recieving him a look from both Logan and his father. Logan's mother saw what was going on and quickly cleared her throat. "Um, the cookies are chocolate." "Enough about the dang cookies." Ellen snipped before she looked to Logan. "Do you or don't you want to be apart of this family Logan?" The table was quiet, not expecting Ellen to come out of her shell with something like that. Logan blinked and gave her a small frown. "Of course--" "Then sit and enjoy some time with us already. It's been almost 3 months since I've seen you and I want to spend more than a passing glance of time with you." Maggie gave their mother a look, since she sensed the arguements were coming. She motioned to the kids and their grandma smiled brightly. "Alright, munchkins. Let's go get cookies!" The kids hopped from the table after grandma, leaving the adults alone at the table. It was much like a mexican stand off at this point, no one speaking but everyone of the Kincade's daring one another to speak out. This was going to be a longer night than Logan first hoped. ~~~ Davis was rather surprised by her come back to that and the obvious hit she made about telling her who to talk to. "Alright. Enjoy yourself then." He said before turning to help his other customers.

Waking up she felt about him, it was cool and dark, but soft... Opening his eyes he noticed he was in his bed, new sheets and he was all tucked in. He smiled because he knew Laurel did it-even after what he had been doing all day to her. Smirking he glanced at the clock seeing it was about 10 pm, he shrugged, reaching tot eh side table and flipping on the TV. He was gonna watch it till later, he had nothing better to do. ---- Laurel sat there minding her own business, only having to shove one sleese ball off, he got the point rather quickly this time, which made her happy. It was getting a bit later, she was wondering where Logan was.

Logan made his way into the bar a good hour or two later than he planned. His mood was dark but not so much so as it was angry like yesterday. No today he was just plain exhausted. The family arguement ended on a sour note, mostly with Maggie pointing fingers at Logan and saying that he drank too much that's why he was mean. Their father played referee while Ellen argued with Maggie and the two husbands snipped back and forth. Logan on the other hand was caught up in his anger silently and struggling not to yell or snap at them. When his mother returned into the room with cookies to share the family wasn't speaking and Logan found it a prime time to escape. He thought about going to the hospital to check on the girl but he found it was past visiting hourse. He went inestead, defeated to the bar. Which brought him to sitting at the counter, rubbing his forehead to try and massage away the anger possibly. Davis knew that look on Logan's face and knew the night had ended badly. He put the Guiness near him but didn't poke the sleeping bear. He knew better than that. Logan accepted the beer but when he looked up he saw Laurel near him. "Hey. What no hot date tonight?" He asked, just a small joke though it hardly held any humor.

Laurel smiled, on her fifth Guinness, she looked over at him," I ate him... Plus Who in their right mind would date me?" She said her voice a slight slur. Her alcohol talking. The first part was a joke and her voice was colored with humor since he lacked some, and the second part was more or less serious. Demon's didn't' mingle with human's unless they had too for contracts or for breeding- that was it. Her having this little fascination wasn't a normal thing, either was her brothers human habits he had acquired. "I'm a terrible person... I'm always waist deep in trouble but never behind in work... Its dumb. I can do very few things right but I can't do anything about my past... I can't fix it- I can't even erase it from my mind- its like its burned there..." her voice trailed off as her eyes got slightly watery but she sniffed and kept from crying, the images of the dad bodies about her in the bar thought she knew they weren't there it was a hard thing to even think up. She didn't understand at the moment why she was telling him thing, he just felt like a person she could talk to- some one who would understand her.

Logan was rather surprised by her comment about someone dating her. Hell and even her description was down on herself...but it struck a cord with him. Already buzzed from drinking at his parents he was in the mood to help cheer the girl up. She had been nice to him so far. It was only curteous that he was nice back to her. "I think your being a bit too hard on yourself. You're a pretty girl, have at people that care about you and hell at least you're more social." He looked at his beer for a moment and in the swirl of the amber liquid he could see his reflection that was distorted but there. He gave a hard swallow before he pushed it away. "Everyone wants to fix the past, but you can't. Just like you'll never forget. No matter how hard you try...God forbid you ever get a peaceful moment from it." He stood and offer Laurel a small look. "Want to get out of here? Go for a walk or something?" For some reason it felt as though the room was steadily clsoing in on him and growing stuffy. He was finding it hard to breath and he could feel a bit of a heavy pressure inside his chest. It was obvious by the look he didn't know he had in his eyes that he fighting the thoughts and feelings that wanted to surface.

She listened to him and smiled," Really? I don't think so... nothing good ever happens...A walk? Sure..." She paid both tabs then stood up, her heels clicking smartly as she was accustomed to walking in them drunk and she walked out with Logan. She didn't know what he was wanting to go for a walk for but she had to admit it was nice outside. AS they walked towards the park she sighed," I guess it is a rather nice night to go for a walk... Good idea. That bar was stuffy." She looked around and stopped not far from where the girl had been found earlier. "This was where that girl was found today right?" She asked as she looked about. "Where is she now? Is she even alive?" She asked her slur getting a bit worse.

Logan had wanted to get out the bar because of his own feelings going on in there. It was hard to look at yourself after a long day of cases, of all the what if's and what could I be dong to help, of all the unspoken anger that built up over not having any evidence to know what the hell was going on. It was also hard to realize the you were in that bar to drown out your feelings, to make you numb to everything that happened, to forget a woman's terrified face that reminded you your wife might be out there somewhere suffering like that young woman was. So leaving the bar was a choice for his sanity. Laurel was just a peice of his dunken logic that reasoned it was better to not be alone. Besides, she seemed to be caught up in her own dark past too. Perhaps that bar was now collecting people with shitty past life problems... He looked up when she mention the girl earlier today and realized he was in the park. He hadn't meant to walk here, for the fact that seeing the spot awakened the intital panic he had felt. He nodded to Laurel, his eyes fixed on the place on the grass where he saw her wrapped in that sheet. "She's alive. In the ICU though. Doctor's weren't sure if any of her vitals were clipped or that she didn't have damage to any organs." He said then looked to Laurel. "I'm sure the news did a good ob at exagerating things right?"

Laurel listened to how he was going on about to, his voice a bit pitched with an resented panic it sounded like. " She didn't flinch too much.... Once you take enough pain they pass out- they always do." She words were spoken with a smile as she tripped a bit and grabbed Logan's arm with a laughed to straighten herself," Heels and drinking don't mix, but I never really learn." She straightened herself and let go of his arm, thought she tripped a few seconds later, she simply sat down int eh grass and sprawled out. She didn't really care but the grass felt nice and she was completely comfortable there where she was. She patted the spot by her for Logan to lay down, the ground was a refreshing cool and the grass was soft, the breeze was just right and she breathed in the sents, ti was great at night no gross people smells were disturbing her.

Logan looked to her when she mentioned pain and flinching. His eyes narrowed a bit at the comment and her smile. Was she making fun of this? He felt a tie to this case in a way, because of his wife. It was the close age proximity he guessed and because of the heinous way she was found. It struck a cord with him. He saw her take a seat on the grass and he glanced at the hand that patted for him to sit down. To be honest he wasn't in his right mind. Usually he would have told her no, but now he wanted to sit and talk with her. "I am really having trouble reading you Laurel. As a cop, that's saying something. Like those comments you made. The pillow...about her flinching. I'm guessing it wasn't another coincidence?" He said referring to her previous comment about nothing being a coincidence .
