His breath was heavy as he finally brought his tired feet to a stop, he had been running for hours now...He was utterly exhausted. His head was jerked up when the being he was waiting on had him by the hair. "Good you finally made it- I thought you had gotten lost human." Jack shook his head,"N-No.. got it right here." He panted as he pulled out a piece of paper he had gotten from his contact. The being smiled at him, its long blond hair flitting in some other planes wind, but the city's wind was dead. He looked at the thing- it looked like a shiny angel- only it was ruthless- his best guess was that he was a demon in a sheep's skin. He didn't care to ask so he kept his mouth shut. Opening the letter the being read it and its' smile grew as it read further into the note. "Good job. You got me good information- I shall remember this for the next time I see you... I'll let you live." It stepped away from him and disappeared into a bright light. He closed his eyes, the light too bright but in one second it was gone leaving only bright dots in his eyes. He sat there in the alley way- back against the filthy wall. He was too tired to care where he was- save for the rats starting to sniff him to see if he was food. Pulling himself up with a lot of effort, he stumbled to a park and collapsed on a bench. The sky was lightened now and he just wanted to sleep however a patrol made him leave the park. 'At least I got to sit down a little while at least.' He thought to himself with a smile. It was about 6-7 am when he finally stumbled into his house. It was hard to do this every few days- it was killer on his other more 'normal' job. He knew he couldn't keep either job up forever. Looking about him he saw an orderly mess and a few bloody objects he forgot to clean because he was late to run the letter. Heading to the sink he cleaned them meticulously- even polishing them and replacing them back into the drawers where the other knives went. He was very meticulous with his work space... being a serial killer was hard work. "Well at least I got all my work finished and things put away before I go to bed... What a fun night." He smiled as he went into his bedroom, lighting a lamp and started undressing for bed. He slept most of the day so he did 'night work' usually, with his 'side job' it wasn't a problem. He still couldn't believe he had gotten sucked into that line of work- delivering messages between beings he didn't care to even thing about what they were. ~----------------------------------------------------------~
He had been in a bar one night after a 'job' and he had left the woman not a few blocks from there in an alley where she could be at her own usual 'corner', however he saw a dark figure in the pub looking at him, it was odd so he went over and the person invited him to have a seat, and bought him a round. They asked him something simple,"Are you Honest?" It struck a chord with Jack- he was rather confused but he shrugged and responded," No man knows weather he is honest or not till his judgement day." The thing seemed to like his answer and it offered him the note passing job. It seemed easy the first few times till they started getting spaced out and he had to travel far distances. Some times countries difference... It was weird how they made him work so for very little with only a promise of eternal life from one end and the promise of keeping his life from the other side...

The little girls footsteps echoed on the cobble stone as she made her was through the empty street. Her wide and frightened blue eyes took in her surroundings. Somehow the city had lost its color and had taken on a shadowy appearance, especially with the shadows that whirled past her. They looked human in form but not definition, a scary thing for a young girl by herself. Her little heart would be pounding but all she could feel was the panic running through her. She ran along the crowd to just have somewhere to go, clutching her long white nightgown as a sort of safety blanket. She was lost, terribly alone with no clue as to what she needed to do. Why was she here? Who was she? And why didn't someone help her? She was just left helpless, wandering and scared. Unexpectedly she felt something grab her ankle, causing her to fall face first onto the hard ground. Pain shot through her from where her face hit stone and she tried looking back to see what still had hold of her. She found it was a shadowy slime like mass that was slowly but surely consuming her. She shrieked in horror and kicked at it to ge it to turn loose. That only caused the mass to suck her in faster. In her screaming fit of panic, she hardly heard a person land precisely beside her. A foot came down hard on the slimey creature and light erupted from the creature, obliterating it. Her screams quieted but light gasps came from her as tears fell down her face. She looked up with wide ready eyes at a blonde haired man that was much too shiny to be a normal man or one of these shadows. And for some reason, that soft smile on his face made her feel at ease. Her savior offered her a hand and the little girl gladly took it out of loyalty and trust. The moment their hands met the same light that came from the creature enveloped her but instead of afraid she felt warm, happy, and comforted. Her vision was soon consumed by light and suddenly she felt completely weightless as if she was nothing. ---- Twila opened her eyes, the clouds being the first thing she saw since she lay on her stomach. Her dark indigo eyes traced the large fluffy white expanse, all the way to the golden gates that were not much more than a glowing spec at this point. Her world, the one in the sky, was an amazing place for all, a paradise and true utopia. All clouds and sun shine in the day, and at night only the moon and the stars. There it was always serene happiness, enough of it to make the wildest beast surrender to it. The locals enjoyed it and many mortals admired the vast space from the Earth bellow, knowing one day they’d be a part of this world when their time in their world ended. She gave a heavy sigh at the matter, not really caring either way. She wasn’t like the mortals and couldn’t experience their same joy. A sigh escaped her lips as she tried to be patient. How long had he been gone already? She had waited all night to tell him the good news...or perhaps it was because she just wanted to see him. Her mentor was the most important person to her after all, like a bright star in her little world. Lucian was the first person she saw when she woke from the long sleep of her creation, right after the goddess herself. Her entire being felt attached to him the moment she laid eyes on him, for some reason she couldn't quite explain. It was like he was familiar and special, like he alone could care for her. He took her under his wing, literally, in the first few stages of her newly appointed status as an angel. He told her about history and how people like her came to be. He said that angels were made up of a handful of special spirits of those that died. Their energy breathed life into a frame that the goddess hand crafted herself. That angel would then be put to work in some benefit or another in the heavens and the world bellow, only after they were properly trained. She had studied under Lucian for a while, learned to fly and cast a few things with soul energy. She wasn't perce a child prodigy but she found that she was absorbing information quickly, much like a child would. It seemed her status became more understandable and normal over time. Her wings had become a normal part of her now, like an arm or a leg with little weight or trouble on her back. She could feel the feathers now, ruffling in the breeze that went over the clouds. She smiled a bit and flexed the muscles in the for a long moment, causing her feathers to fan in a way that left a tingling sensation at the roots. She felt so tense after a day stuck in the record hall, helping David and the others organize the library and watch over the human life spans. It was in the middle of working on putting away a record on recent deaths that she was called to be with the Goddess's chamber. She met with the woman after what felt like ages ago and recieved the news of her newly appointed status. She'd soon be one of the mortals protectors and the one who tried to sustain the way of life for the ones still among the living. She was to become an Arch Angel. They were perfection, the Goddess's greatest creation despite the other Angel brethren. Unlike the rest they were hand selected by her and given powers stronger than the others. They were stronger, faster, and more deadly than anyone else, all for the point of serving our purpose. To destroy and protect. A curiousity spiked in her mind and quickly she pushed aside some of the cloud she lay on. Bellow she could see the archaic town and the darkness of the cities dawn. Things seemed so tired and sleepy there, as if nothing in the world could disturb its peaceful nature. For a brief moment she wondered what could possibly be down there, who and why the people lived. It was all such a fascinating mystery she lost herself in thought watching the first signs of sun come over the buildings. (OOH me like the selection! Ah and I just kinda posted something charactery and docile cause I'm about to head off for classes))

He sat back brushing his long blond hair, he was quite sure it was an envious thing among the angels with more dull hair, since he had a woman's soul so he had a good hair, it wasn't his fault he kept that information to himself. He looked at himself in the mirror, smiling sickly with his normal sharp looking teeth exposed, his blue eyes sparkling, however human's found him scary- other angels thought he was pretty. He sighed placing on his normal complaisant smile and left his room. He walked about getting eyed by a few other angels and he nodded a polite hello. He walked to his little helpers room, knocking lightly and entered,"Good morning sleepy head. Your over sleeping aren't you? The goddess won't like that." He looked at her, she was looking at the earth below her and admiring it or something- he hated that word, so full of filth and sick.
~--------------------------------------------~ Jack woke up- it was about noon- however he felt the normal pulling feeling inside of him that made his want to get to work. He got dressed and went out looking about for a new target- it wasn't like it happened over night, he had to plan these things perfectly, then he was thinking of sending a little something to the chief- he deserved a token after all his hard work. Looking at his wrist he noticed the red there- he frowned he didn't have time for another note passing. He scowled as he followed to where the blood finally sank back into his veins- and there was a dark figure. He knew this one was a female, she was sweet always looking out for him in a way, thought she was more creepy then he wanted to admit, but he liked her more or less. "Hello, Its good to see you this fine morning...I'm glad you saw my summons..." He smiled back at her, her teeth were sharp and toxic looking a sheen over them making them look bright."Pleasure, so whats the promise this time?" It was common for this creature of the pair to offer him something he would want rather then a death threat. The creature smiled," No promise. Just a question-Can you do me a favor when you pick your next one? I want you to dip this in the blood of the woman , then you can pass the letter on to the contact." Jack frowned at the idea,"You want to contaminate my work? And why do you wanna do that? Its not like that blond thing will want it." He was a little put off how the creature knew he was wanting to get back to killing, however to mess with his work bothered him. The creatures eyes light up at his comment however," Blond? How curious... I thought I was dealing with some one a lesser rank I guess I'm going straight to the top, how wonderful...Yes... I want it soaked in blood then rinsed off so no blood is visible...got it?" He frowned and stood there silently. The pause in his answer was apparently making the being a little upset, so it was bargaining. The creature took a few steps forward towards him and pulled him into a hug, wrapping its arms about him. It was a warm hold not anything constricting- he had a feeling that if the creature wanted him dead he would already be so. ,"Please do this favor for me... You don't have to deliver it till a little bit later... I promise you will have time to rest or should I just make you my pet now?" He felt a shiver go threw him a the word pet, he hated being used like this. "Fine, get off me." He didn't like the contact, but he couldn't exactly fight the being off- it was immortal for all he knew. The creature let him go easily with an almost humored smile before being enveloped into a back mist that swallowed them whole, then it fell tot he ground- leaving nothing left.

Twila's eyes fluttered open at the sound of a voice and she shot up straight. Her hair fell into place despite few loose bangs or so. She hadn't anticipated sleeping since she had wanted to talk to him last night. "Good morning. Sorry I think I must have dozed off while ground watching. The mortals are funny little creatures." She said just recalling watching the specs move around. She got to her feet and dusted the remaining cloud from her dress. Thats when the thoughts from earlier hit her and she looked up at him with a bright smile. "I have amazing news! The goddess decided my place here. I'm to become an Arch-Angel! You know like Michael and Gabriel!" She was much like a baby bird the way she bounced in giddy joy and her wings fluffed as if seeking appraisal. "Then that means I can have an important job like you and I can help out!" She was all in a twitter but she made herself stop bouncing so that she could listen for his reaction. ((Lol poor Jack is messanger boy))

Lucian's smile went from normal to forced, he wasn't even that high ranked. That's what pissed him off, others who hadn't worked as long or as diligently as him were getting better promotions... Oh well he had this girl on a string , he could control her from his own lower position after all she was a child he saved so she was more than happy to throw herself off a cliff of clouds for him. He looked at her, wrapping an arm about her," Congratulations! That's exciting news, I'm glad the goddess sees such potential in you as I always have." He said giving her a pat on the head. He was drawing this out but he still needed more information. Stupid demons had been clean and truthful lately it was, many among them thought he was a demon himself because demons were only honest with other demons. Smirking at that thought he just imagined how the goddess would appreciate him more, her job just a rank among the many others, his closer tot he top of course. He would be of a much higher rank, not just a lowly soul collector and a Councilmen. Twila could either die in the battle or she could be his personal servant, she was head over heels still, dumb child. He figured she would snap out of her child like ignorance eventually but he was hoping to wrap her up tightly before so she would stay under his thumb. ---------------------------------------- He took be note and was scowling as he went about scooping potential targets out. It was about dark when he strolled in the red light district of the city, it was filthy but instead of repulsing him it attracted him however-the women didn't- they were abominations and they didn't need to exist. He had sent many anonymous letters to the police about it but nothing had been done so he was going to make a clear statement with his next girl, he was going to start cutting them up... They would get his point he was persisted after all. They always did when things kept coming back up again and again- like an endless loop to keep them in such suspense.

Twila's smile turned as bright as seven suns when he praised her. That was what she really wanted, not the praise of the others but the person who had gotten her to this point. If not for him she would have never been in the eye of any of the hierarchy here. For one reason or another people rescepted Lucian, he was even said to be a favorite of the goddess. That didn't happen all the time and no one really knew if it was true, they just noticed some angels got away with more than others. Twila never thought of being a favorite of anyone, mostly because she was trying to prove herself in general. It was hard being one of the youngest immortals. You tended to be looked down upon by your peers. But Lucian never looked down on her, he was always supporting her with his kind words. "I wanted you to be the first to know but you were gone all night. Then again you have important stuff going on so I guess I shouldn't be selfish." She said, since she didn't have much of a filter between her thoughts and her words. Twila tended to be a very cheerful but blunt person, but mostly because of her naivety and her child like spirit. It caused many to find her annoying but she didn't like lying to people or hiding things. It felt wrong and it was one of the rules the goddess set in place. "Ah, but I can't even take the post till I get evaluated by the other archangels. Michael said its important so they know what I have to learn. I told him it was okay, but really I wanted to say you taught me everything I needed to know." Her brows rose and she looked up at him with a curious look. "I forgot, did you need any help today? I already helped out David in the library and Micah had me filing all day." She said with a slight bit of a pout. She hated being stuck indoors, she enjoyed the sun and air too much.

Lucian looked at her," Awe well I appreciate that thought, you are a very special angel indeed. I could use your help , sure... I have some places to check up on if you would care to come along with me." He said working on string her even farther under his wing if ever possible. He walked out of her quarters and took off knowing she would be right behind him as always. He needed to run a few things by an old friend and have her distracted so he decided in his own mind to have her intervening with a murder that evening that was written. The victim wasn't supposed to die till a few days later, so they needed a distraction. He was often put to intercepting things such as this so that the record books that David kept would be as he liked to say OCD. That bird had a slight issue with things and liked them just so. He had made a mistake and put a wrong date down for this particular human so they were stretching to make it happen.

Twila was ecstatic to help. She was usually stuck up in the clouds in the library doing the tasks no body wanted to put on themseleves. Any excitement outside the records hall was something big for her. She skipped along the holy stone a bit behind him before pushing off on the tip of her toes to catch the air with her wings. She felt the wind first of all which felt like heaven on her skin and next came the familiar tug on her feathers that a fresh flight brought. With a small giggle she rolled, allowing her wings to shift into the familiar postions to properly right herself in the air. "So what places are we going, huh? Anywhere new? Exciting?" She asked wondering if perhaps she would actually be of help to him.

"Actually I need you to do a big job for me, It required bravery, skills in speech and influence. I need you to stop a murder before it happens," He said as she righted herself next to him in the air, he smiled at her hoping she was getting full of herself eventually so she wouldn't be shy at this point for a mission. He found these things small and loathsome so he wanted to give them to her, she needed the practice any how. "You think you can do that for me?" He asked her in a calm voice knowing she was at his beck and call. If she was doubtful he would fill her up with praise and positiveness, which would make her want to serve him.
~--------------------------------------~ Spotting the perfect girl, he smiled as she approached her, she smiled back at him. "Hello miss, might I have you attention for the evening?" He asked the girl with long brown hair, her eyes were a pale green and she was pretty- a shame really. She looked him over and grinned," Oh course sir but only if you have the cash..." That made him smile as he pulled out a wade of cash he used to lure the last few ones as well. It was his blood money in a way. It was always easy to lure women when one had just the right look about them, the air of a rich man, and the money to show for it. He wasn't a poor many by any means since he was raised in a large house hold, but he didn't spend much money- save what he used for food and day to day expenses and what he spent for college. The girl smiled at the appearance of money and a large amount of it meaning she could over charge him, oh course it would be 'giving him a discount'. She was so used to these rich stiffs coming in here at night looking for a good lay, when they had wives with children at home, and a good job they were simply ignoring because their family bored them. She wasn't above that however, she was once married however the man was a drunk and wasn't worth the salt under her nails after a 'sweaty' afternoon tangle, she didn't even consider herself married now.

Twila's wings tensed causing her to falter a bit in her flight. Did he just say something about murder? She quickly righted herself and looked to Lucian with a bit of a worried look. "You mean interact with the mortals? But--" She looked down at the clouds and the bits of street she could she below. She looked thoughtful for a moment, mostly because she'd only interacted with the records of mortals not the actual mortals themselves. She didn't know all the ways to dealing with them and she certainly didn't use her charm to hide her wings all that often. Would it even work out? She hardly wanted to be responsible for a human girls death.... 'But if you don't help she'll die. And besides Lucian is trusting you with this.' She looked over at him again before nodding slowly. She felt a bit of an ego boost coming, mostly because she felt confident that he trusted her abilities. "Yes, of course...but are there any details I should know? Anything I should watch out for?" She said since she was a bit of a newbie at this.

Lucien's expression wasn't forced as he smiled at her this time since he found it almost funny." Just don't let the girl die. Keep the man away from her- don't kill him either. Make sure no evidence is left about. Do absolutely everything necessary in your power or not to keep her alive and him distracted. He can't get her alone or she is dead." He pointed to a spot on a street for her to go, There was a person standing on the corner, waiting for something it seemed, he knew what was going on unlike the little angel next to him. She was too innocent and he found it almost humorous on how he was going to force her into a situation where she was well over her head, to make a point to the Goddess perhaps that she wasn't ready for something such as that, or even being an Arch angel.

Twila observed the street surverying the little situation going on. There was a woman there not far from where Lucian pointed. Was that the girl she was suposed to protect? She took in a calming breath before she looked to Lucian with a determined look. "I won't fail you." She took a diving glide for the ground. The smog and steam from the lower part of the city provided her the perfect covering to shift her wings in the quick flash of light. She dropped to the ground, landing lightly on her feet as if she weighed nothing at all. She hadn't really thought that she might look strange dressed in all white and some golds in such a dirty place, but she did find herself in a bit of an awe at everything around her. Up in the clouds everything looked so different, down here it was all so big. She looked ahead of her and saw that same woman again but this time a man was speaking with her. Her unease took on a frightful level but she swallowed it up with her pride in herself as an angel. She would do what she could to assert the goddess's will here on earth like every archangel should. How dare someone go against what the goddess planned. She cleared her throat, her eyes turning wide in an instant as though she were nothing more than a doe eyed terrified girl. She hurried over to the pair, accidentally running into the man in an attempt to move him away a bit. She didn't realize how solid a mortal would be though, so she was in a bit of a shock and actually staggered back a bit. It only added to her disoriented and scared appearance. "Oh I'm terribly sorry." She said, her eyes still wide and now worried. She looked over at the woman, her mind working to come up with her words. "It's just I've been wandering this street for an hour--Oh I can't find where my escort went." She was close to tears, playing up the whole emotional young nobel woman look. Twila was just a bit too naive to think that these people possibly could honestly give a careless. She was mostly leaning her trust on the woman however and kept her body angeled in her direction. It was a social sign that human's responded to. When you faced someone they really got the full force of what your trying to convey.

Jack's face went from pleasant to irritated as he turned to look at the young girl. No one just wandered into the red light district. The girl had long dark ahir and pretty eyes, a bit too tanned to be from White chapel as well. She looked rich or a really good actor, but she did seem a bit lost at the current situation it seemed. He looked her over and smiled at her, however she was leaning towards the woman like the whore was going to help her, little did she know whores here didn't care. "Hey girly get your own damned corner- scram while the man and I do business."The woman gave the girl a nasty look, Jack frowned at this situation."Here let me escort you home, I'll be seeing you later miss." He nodded a goodbye to her,and turned to the young noble. "Miss, would you like my help? I'm not a nasty pervert I promise." He said in a reassuring voice, his tone was smooth and simple, he had no intention of hurting this girl, she was too innocent. She didn't belong here in the filth, she was clean, pure... he liked that- she was sweet smelling as well. The whore rolled her eyes and walked to another side of the street ignoring them. Jacks' eyes followed her noting simple things that he could identify her by later.

Twila looked taken aback that the woman would snap at her so. And what did she mean about getting her own corner? Were territories laid out on the street? She took a cautionary step back just in case. 'I'm trying to help you.' She thought with a slight disparity and a tad bit of annoyance. She would still protect this mortal but she was more leery of her. The man spoke and Twila didn't hide her relief, though it could be mistaken for relief at help and not that she had the woman get away from this guy. If he was the one Lucian was talking about, she wanted to be sure the woman stayed away from him. But then this meant that Twila would have to take him off somewhere. Great..... Not that she was actually scared of him though. If she wanted to she could knock him on his ass and get away. She may have looked small and dainty but the spirit energy of an angel was close to a super power. A mortal would have a very hard time killing her to begin with. Angels healed almost instantly, unless harmed by a holy weapon or something blessed. Since she didn't think this man would be carrying such a rare weapon class, she had nothing really to fear. Twila decided maybe it was best to play the part a little more. After all, the woman was still not safe just yet. Twila looked to the man with that innocence that was all too honest. She really had no idea where she was going after all since she had only been to the mortal world once before to visit the temple of the goddess that had been built near the center of town... The idea struck her and she figured it could work for the situation. If she could get to the temple with this guy then she could leave from there escaping all notice and the man would be too far away from the woman to harm her. Wouldn't Lucian be proud? She have a hesitant nod, though she was curious how his eyes followed the woman. It was strange, like he was taking in what she looked like. To get his attention, Twila gave a sniffle and a nod, her eyes now showing a bit more of calm. "Yes, that would be very kind of you. I would love any help I can get." She said softly though her yes didn't leave his face. For someone that was dangerous he had a nice looking appearance. She could see female mortals would be attracted to him though she herself held no such sentiment since he held no real significance for her like Lucian. "My escort was taking me to the goddess's temple in the main square. It's a bit far from here...are you sure you're willing to accompany me that far?" it showed in her expression that she wanted him to say yes and go with her. He might interpret it as she was scared to be by herself, though she was actually worried to leave him and the woman alone again.

"Oh course child, I shall go all the way to the temple with you. Come I'll call a cab for us."He said as he raised his hand at a passing carriage and it rolled to a stop, he opened the door for the girl, motioning for her to enter. He wanted a carriage because it wasn't safe to have a young girl in such finery out past dusk and in the red light district- visible she would be a potential target- he didn't want that. A carriage was a faster way to travel and it was hidden, so he was protecting her in a way. "So where did you loose your escort Miss? Maybe I can send a gram for him to inform them you have arrived at your destination?" He was playing the elderly man in this situation though he was barely older than this girl himself- he only killed whores and ignorant men who tried to get in the way of his 'job'. It wasn't bad work- it gave him all the thrills he ever needed.
