Smirking he looked at her," I am 24 miss... I still have my great youth, they are always saying is wasted by uselessness... I have a mission thought. However I see you don't approve of it, but I shall have it set to the back burner until your departure..." He tone was calm and polite with a bit of interest there but it wasn't over stepping any lines by any means.
~--------------------------------------------------------~ Lucian scowled at the messenger who told him that Twila had keep this serial killer at bay without getting harmed herself. The frown was because he was watching their current conversation with severe displeasure. Not only had she blamed her being there on him but he had been gracious enough to trust her with these things. ' dumb child...' He thought as he left his quarters to the summons he had gotten from the hall from David.

Twila felt a bit of a laugh come to her. Twenty three? That's all? And he made it sound like he was old. Wouldn't he be shocked to hear she couldn't even tell how old her mentor was? She listened to the bit about him putting his mission on the back burner and tried not to let it show that it still bothered her. So she wasn't getting through to him at all. Man, human's were stubborn creatures. "Then I will just have to accept that." She said with a light sight, her attention turning to. "What do people do out here for fun when its this nice out? What other things do you like to do? People always seems so happy when you look at them." She started to notice her feet felt a bit funny from all this walking she was doing on the hard ground. ---- ((I'm thinking I might roll with that, change it if the convo doesn't work kay?)) David peered over the top of the book he held, looking down at the open tile floor beneath his perch on on of the many vaulting shelves of the records room. They were made from white marble as white as a cloud and the the floors were a shifting mist like cloud that came to about ankle deep. David found this all relative. The only thing he really cared for was seeing that everyone was doing their duties. Which was why he ha called his favorite little friend Lucian in to speak with him. He had always been the sort that really grated David's nerves, the angel that thought he was a power all his own. Lucian followed the rules in the broadest sense, but failed to acknowledge the details that kept this place running. Such as the record keeping, he so recently trampled on by sending an inexperienced member to do his work. David's feathers ruffled when he saw Lucian come in and saunter up to the main portion of the floor. With one lithe leap, he landed quite gracefully on the floor behind Lucian. "Welcome brother, I see eternity is finding you well." He said before he decided he should get right down to business. "I'm not here to chat about our age however, I want to express concern for the wellfare of a certain case you've neglected." He walked past Lucian and placed the book down on a stone table he flipped it open to show it was a list of names hand written into the book by the angel responsible. He tapped a finger at the name he found one that was currently a faded blood red color. "It is against our protocol to interfere directly with the mortals, and no less allowing an inexperienced newborn to handle the case that involves a soul that's been tainted." His eyes narrowed slightly as his frustration at the whole mess rose. "It is a negative turn instead of positive and it needs to be rectified sooner than never." David wasn't exactly in charge of other people, that was the goddess's job but he did hold a higher power over most here. It was part of the reason he was trusted with keeping documents that held not only the chances of judgement for a soul but also details of very very powerful magics and information. It was not a job held lightly by those not prepared for it. (( David I think will look somethign like this, all serious and stuff lol ofcourse with white wings and golden eyes instead of red. Red is too menacing))

Lucian went into the large white hall and sighed heavily when he saw David, and let out yet another one when he heard his voice behind him. David was an angel what just made him want to break all the rules just because he said they were final. "Good, to find you well too brother...She is a natural for this- you and I both know she will come out on top of her job- she always does... She trusts me that much- enough to get the job done- besides I have other things to attend too- I can only do so much in an angel's day." He almost purred as he said his defense, knowing that David wasn't going to let it fly so why not have fun with this. "You and I both know its a lot to get done alone- not to mention the goddess placed her in my capable hands to help her succeed the best I can help her. This will help her and give her help with learning how to hands humans and tainted souls in one go- he wouldn't hurt her- he can't- I'm quite sure and I have been monitoring the situation." He was looking at his nails like he was inspecting the already flawless hand of his, not really caring for being there listening to David prattle on.
~-----------------------------------------------------~ "People take walks, gossip, have picnics by the river- visit friends- watch a public hanging.. the usual...What do they do when you watch them- they usually hide what they do from un preying eyes when they are foreign. They do whatever pleases them..." Her said with a smirk when she asked what people did in their free time. She really wasn't from around there he figured since she gave off a small presence like the ones he passed letters between. That let his mind drift back to the note and the request of the thing- that always promised him eternal life...instead of death. What he thought was a female wanted the note drenched in blood then washed and dried then delivered to the thing- the blond one as a message of some sort. He didn't understand it all but he had plenty of his own problems to work out.

Twila's brow wrinkled slightly. Was that all human's liked to do? Strange, she felt that they'd have so much more here in a place when the sky was the limit. "On the ocassion that I have time to people watch, they usually seem to be all smiles with lots of things to do. Though perhaps I might be mistaken, it's kind hard to tell sometimes." She said then noticed a group of people forming somewhere a bit ahead in a plaza like area. "Oh, what's that?" She said, when she saw a flurry movement nearby. Her curiousity got the better of her and she moved closer, taking Jack's hand to make sure she stayed with him. Couldn't have him slipping away without her notice... She peeked over the corwd, her smaller size leaving her unfortunately an inch short than the man infront of her. She bobbed up onto the literal tip of her toes, as if she weighed nothing and caught some of what was going on there. A man stood in the center of a crowd, in his hand he held a woman's pearl necklace and in the other a cloth. He addressed the audience with a bright smile, his teeth slightly yellowed from what Twila could see. She didn't like that smile, it seemed fake. "Watch ladies and gentlemen as I place the necklace under this cloth and at the count of three it will magically transform." He placed the cloth over the necklace and at the audiences counting he removed the cloth and there sat a dove. Twila's eyes brightened as she looked at the beautiful bird and for a moment she was just as awed as the crowd. "Now with a bit of extra magic..." He snapped his finger over the bird and slipped the cloth back over it. In a movement so quick, she blinked and he clapped his hand down of where the cloth covered bird was, pulling it away to revel the woman's necklace again. The crowd clappped and the woman looked baffled as her necklace was secured safely around her neck. "And for my next volunteer," He spotted Twila peeking over the man's shoulder and motioned to her with a flourish, "You my dear." The man moved out the way and a couple of the people moved her forward, making her release Jack's hand. Twila looked leery of this man, mostly because she had never seen someone do something like that. Did some human's possses abilities beyond their realm? "Now, Miss I see you like flowers?" Twila looked at the Bleeding Heart in her hand and gave him an affirmative nod. "Good, then as a gift to you I'd like to give you a special flower, alright?" "Special flower?" She asked, her look quizical but almost anitcipating it. The man waved his hand over hers and brought the hand back to his chest, right above his heart. Suddenly from the shirt he pulled a brilliant white rose that glittered lightly in the sun. He offered it to Twila who looked mistified. She placed the bleeding hearts stem behind one ear, her hair holding it in place. "Now would you please give it a smell?" He said as she took the rose in her hands. She leaned a little and sniffed it lightly and almost instantly the flower dissapated into an explosion of glitter. It rained around her, startling but also happily surprising her. Twila giggled light as the people ooed and awed at the spectacle. She however stopped laughing when she felt a tug on her dress. Her eyes flitted in the direction and she saw out of the man's shirt sleeve a bit of a pearled strand stuck out. She reached forward when he bowed and caught his arm. He looked shocked and tried to pull away but her grip was uncharateristicly firm. She pulled the strand of pearls from his hirt sleeve and cocked her head to the side. "Well that's funny. Do you like wearing necklaces too?" She asked innocently though to the crowd it may have been a fo innocence, she seriously couldn't place why he would have a necklace there, one that looked just like the woman's he just returned. It was obvious by the look on the woman's face and the crowds that things were about to get sour really quickly for this street preformer. He looked at Twila like she was the devil but she just smiled back rather dumbly, not seeming to notice.

Jack smiled at her small comment but he was a bit shocked when she grabbed his hand, probably to keep him from slipping away, he thought with a smile. He had never really held hands with a girl before... It felt nice though. He watched the street performer do a simple trick however when he turned his eyes to Twila he frowned, especially when the few men meant to help gather the 'volunteers' made her let go of his hand. When Twila put the flower behind her ear he couldn't help but notice how innocent and cute she was- it was an odd thought for him but it was hard to get past. He watched since she seemed to be alright and when the glitter exploded he took an unconscious step towards her, she was now with in his arm's reach- which oddly made him feel comfortable now. It was like he accepted his feelings momentarily and it was a more protective closure area for him. He couldn't help but smile when she pulled the con man's loot out of his sleeve, and seemed so innocent about it. He felt the atmosphere change and he grabbed her by instinct about the waist and pulled her back out of the man's reach, he looked like he would hit a girl. He figured she could handle herself and all but he just didn't feel like it was right. "You should be more careful on who you pick to reveal Twila... Around here that can get you hurt..." he said in a quiet yet concerning tone to her, as he kept the man at bay by giving him a nasty look- he wasn't sure if he was going to scram before the mob got him or just stand there giving Twila a glare.

Though the preformer still looked pissed, he sucked it up and high tailed it out of there with a few of the 'audience members'. Twila blinked at the dirty look she got from them and she looked up at Jack with a confused look. She was close to him from how he pulled her back though she didn't feel uncomfortable there or really notice the proximity. Though she had been quite a bit suprised when he had pulled her back. "Hm? Reveal but....." Her expression morphed to that of understanding after a moment. So the man was a thief, that was sad to hear, especially when he was talented in his craft. "Sorry, I didn't mean to upset people." She said before she looked at the people that dispersed from the area and notice none of them looked to pleased. She frowned slightly herself, mostly in dismay. Seems she was having quite a bit of trouble getting used to the mortal world. It seemed the only person that even kind of liked her was Jack and she was suposed to be making him like her. Right, so she shouldn't be concerned with what the other mortals thought right? She should be concerned with wether or not she had made Jack mad too? "It was fun while it lasted though. I've never seen all of that--stuff before." She said, before her nose wrinkled slightly. "He was very good. But he must not have been a very good thief. After all, that necklace was rather unattractive." She said, since she was more the type to like things that sparkled. It was part of the reason why angels wore golds.

Watching them leave with his other pick pockets, he couldn't help but smile at Twila only he didn't feel the need to let her go yet. "Regardless of the necklaces' looks, it was worth money- its a nice thing to have around here....We 'humans' hold it in high regards." He said with a little twinge in his voice, if she had never seen a street thief or a magic trick she had to be 'special'. Even temple followers are wary travelers- while Twila was all over the place and bright eyed and curious. "Come along, Its almost tea time." He said as he started moving her along with the dispersing crowd. He moved his grip from her middle back to her hand and walked her threw some more busy areas, to a small tea shop with an outdoor seating area. He got them a table and he pulled the chair out for Twila.

Twila didn't mind the fact that he was touching her but she did find the contact new. Angels weren't very physical in their interactions, in fact space was usually preferred because of their wings. But the feeling of his arms around her left an interesting warmth that she silently observed for perhaps later to ask Lucian why mortal's were warm. She looked at him when he made his comment about the necklace. She didn't like the inflection he added on humans. It made her feel uneasy and like he actually was calling her out. He would be right, but for the sake of her being there she had to be mortal. It was against the rules to speak of your origin unless you were collecting a soul. Besides, how exactly did he define human? She defined it as a living being with a soul. She was immortal and was made of souls. So technically she could be human (Lol she's trying everything not to lie). "I don't see why we would, since its the soul that matters in the end." She said as she followed him to where he mentioned tea. A thought hit her, one of burning liquid in a small metal pot. It smelled lovely, like fresh spices and an almost bitter sense in the taste. It was called tea. She blinked and she was back at the cafe with Jack, him offering her the seat. She gave him a small thank you and took her seat. Her hand lightly grazed the rim of a small plate and she smiled lightly at the spoons and forks. She remembered them vaguely as things to eat with, or at least that's what her soul was telling her. It was only a faint feeling that soon faded when she noticed the card with all the names of different teas of all different flavors. She tried not to look all that intimidated by the list but searched for one that seemed nice but didn't find anything quite jumping out at her. "Um, Jack, I think I'll just let you enjoy the drinks. I'm not one for tea." She said since she honestly had no idea what she was doing with it, not to mention she didn't need anything like food to survive. As was the immortal life. Also as he had mentioned, money was key and she had none. She should have asked the nice little priests for some but she didn't expect she'd be needing it.

He watched her seat before he took his own seat, He took off his jacket and placed it on the back of the chair before he actually looked over the tea menu. He looked threw a few of them however one struck his taste for the day. At her comment however about not being a tea person he had a feeling she was simply at an indecision. Jack smiled at her," Very well, then you can try some of mine if the mood strikes you." He asked the waiter for some Earl Grey tea, it was a strong black tea with a rather floral sent and flavor- he loved it. He got a few pastry- he was going to have some with his tea- he didn't know what she wanted since she wasn't normal in a sense. She hadn't offered any information on her personal preferences over food or the like so he decided to get what he wanted.

Twila listened to what Jack ordered and tried to place the name. Why would they name a tea something like grey? Didn't that sound like a sad name? She smiled at the waiter when he looked to her and she nodded. "some water please." He seemed a bit surprised but blinked and left with a light comment on being right back. She looked then to the street and wondered what she should say to Jack. She was playing a part she didn't quite know how to play, for a man she knew only very little about. She hadn't suspected it would be this tough. Her feet were glad for a break though. She never knew walking actually caused them to ache so. She looked to Jack again. "Why do you like that tea out of all the others? I think I counted close to thirty." She asked him, wondering if that was something she could use to understand him a little more

He smiled at her,"Its called personal preference... like a favorite thing... Like how I like pretty girls like you- supposed to shallow rich things... my parents push at me." He said using a metaphor he hoped she got. He didn't know what kind of things she had been threw to understand what to use to get threw to her clearly but he loved mind games. "I'm guessing you see things equally, people here don't. We measure things according to a personally constructed scale we keep in our heads- per sa. Every ones opinion is different."

Twila's nose wrinkled slightly though she nodded. Why was it he insisted on using such gloss to his his words. Like he was some sort of genious in an ordinary man's skin. She wouldn't deny she did find him interesting but an immortal's knowledge would and could put him to shame. She was no example since she was a fairly new immortal that had little to no experience at all on earth. But David, Michael, Lucian, and the many others would make this human look inferior. But that was just the thing...she didn't see this human as inferior. Or at least she didn't try to. She rather liked the way he spoke and the cryptic little words he spun. It was very diffeerent from her world of honesty and peace. But entertaining all the same. "Then you will miss out on so many things if you have such a preference. Where will be you opportunity to change if you think like that?" She asked trying to understand why people would want to devote emotion to anything other than their souls, that was all they could really take with them after all.

Taking a sip of the dark tea he sighed,"We can have more than one favorite- we can spontaneously change out opinions on a whim- we are rather random...I like a tight schedule it helps me think. Now Miss Twila...How can you ever find the opportunity to change if you never try anything your invited to? Per say some tea? He said with a smirk, rephrasing her words back to her, only threw what he saw. He wasn't' being rude or antagonistic- he was being honest.

Twila batted her eyes in thought when he turned the question on her. She didn't try the tea because she had no idea what to do with it. But she couldn't very well say that. And she wasn't about to lie either. So that left her the option of answering with another truth instead. "Seems you have me there. I suppose I should practice all the advice I give to others." She said with a light smile. A light laugh came next one that she hadn't quite expected or that she expected him to understand. Seems this mortal had bested an immortals thinking.

At the sound of her laugh he looked at her from his tea. It was a strange cheerful chime- he liked the sound of it- it was strange...He had never heard anything so... Pure sounding before... Like a child's laughter- it was special and beautiful. He smirked as he looked at her with a tilt of his head, a small laugh coming from his lips. She had admitted to him being right but he was hoping for her to have some tea. "Here, I already added some sugar and cream so it should be cool enough to drink, have some." He said as he poured her a cup and put it in front of her. He was being pushy but he found himself forgetting about wanting to make his point and learn more about her- she was fascinating and interesting and could actually stand a conversation without wanting to hit him or running off.
