Alyss didn't want him to let go more then she wanted the answer to the question, but by the looks of things he didn't want anyone to see them together. Even so, as he pressed the kiss to her cheek she whispered, "I want to know the answer because I care about you. I hope that maybe one day we'll....
but before she could finish her sentence Jordan was there, and Zero was eager to be off with him. Alyss refused to watch him walk away. Instead she stared at the glassy surface of the lake until they were both gone before she headed off to her own room. [/blockquote]

They had been in there room for a while now discussing every little detail of what Jordan found out and Zero was getting more excited every second cause he wanted to run and tell Alyss everything. Because he wanted to tell her to confide in her. "so what you are saying is that because she offered willingly the deal is void?" "that's exactly what I'm saying. They never thought that someone would willingly talk to you let alone offer their blood to you" Zero got to his feet and rushed to the door "thank you Jordan for everything" before he could bolt out the door Jordan caught his arm "there's one more thing. If she doesn't except you for who and what you really are you cannot leave this place ever and you will be in the servitude of the dean and others for the rest if eternity…and not as a student" that made Zero stop for just a second but a smile came to his face "she'll accept me. I just know it" and with that he was gone to go look for Alyss.

Alyss retreated to her room, where she sat curled up on the bed with Bram Stoker's "Dracula" in her lap. She was reading the book when Stacey, her room mate, bounced in the room. Stacey was a perky blond that was all smiles, which never ceased to annoy Alyss. Just when she wanted to be left alone in her room Stacey would bounce in and babble about something, just like tonight. "So who was that guy you were talking to?" Stacey demanded. "He's cute. if he's not yours, you should hook me up with him!" Alyss rolled her eyes, but she couldn't help but smirk at the idea of Stacey and Zero. He wouldn't last more then a day with her constant babble."Go for it,"
Alyss shrugged. If he was embarrassed to be seen with her, maybe he wouldn't mind being seen with Stacey. She may act stupid, but Alyss had to give her roommate credit. For a Sanguine the girl was observant and knew how to read people. "Aww come on Alyss. I've been your roommate for three years now. I know you have the hots for him. So spill." Alyss pulled her eyes away from the book long enough to give Stacey a dirty look. "There's nothing for me to say. Don't you have something you need to be doing?" This time it was Stacey who rolled her eyes. "That's too bad. I was hoping that you'd find someone for once and stop being so....." "Bitchy?" When she glanced at Alyss, there was sadness in her eyes. "No. I meant lonely."[/blockquote]

"Alyss?" He called walking down the hallways, maybe he was feeling old emotions but he could just feel her here somewhere. 'Maybe she's still at the lake' he thought to himself and rushed to the lake. He stood there staring out at the lake, she was here but now she was going. He closed his eyes "I screwed up" he could feel that, he had made a mistake somewhere and now he stood there trying to remember everything that happened from the time from the mess hall to the lake but there was nothing that he could see that would warrant him to screw up. He breathed heavily and opened his eyes "I am thoroughly screwed now. If I can't get her to accept me then I am forever chained to this place" he sat heavily at the edge of the lake placing his head in his hands, he had been defeated. How could he think that things would change? He was just a lowly vampire with horrible mistakes in his past that he cannot run from.

Annoyed, Alyss went back to reading her book as Stacey rambled on and on about something else. Finally, Alyss stood up and tucked the book under arm. There was a reason why she tried to avoid her room as much as possible. "Where are you going?" Stacey asked. Ignoring her Alyss swept out of the room as quickly as she possibly could without actually running. She had to get away from Stacey's babbling, had to go to a place where she could sit in silence and be alone with her thoughts. Unfortunately there was only one place left to go, so she made her way back to the lake.
What was she going to do now? The only person she wanted to get close to obviously didn't want her. Maybe she would be better off the way, living out the rest of her existence in blissful solitude. After what happened with Conrad this was the best option.

Zero laid down on the grass and stared up at the stares, this was to be his life. Being a servant to vampires younger then him only cause he wanted some place to hide out. He sighed heavily and started to zone out on the sky. "I guess I could get use to this...if I have to" he hissed the last part cause he really wanted to be able to run free again and do what he wanted but because of that stupid deal he made he was chained to this place by magical means. Well not at the moment since the deal was broken but that was only till the next full moon and only if he could get Alyss to accept him. "But that's not gonna happen" he grunted to himself and picked up a rock, chucking it into the lake. He was getting kind of mad but he was trying to tone it down, if he was going to be force to stay here then he might as well return to how he was before the other night. That way he won't attract as much attention and he could live out his existence in peace, even though he did like the attention he was getting now.

As she approached the lake she could feel that she wasn't alone. Someone else was intruding on her secret hide out. Irritation filled her as she wondered who it could possibly be this time. Another student trying to get away from it all, or trying to stay away from the teachers? This was HER spot, no anyone else's. Alyss stormed into the clearing fully intending to tell off whoever it was when she suddenly realized that the person she was feeling was Zero. She figured it out as soon as she saw him throw a rock into the lake. She didn't know what to tell him, didn't know what to say. Did he even want here there? Doubtful, with the way his irritated emotions rolled off him like heat waves. Instead of saying anything, she sat on a rather large rock at the water's edge and waited for him to speak to her.

Zero sat up and skipped another rock across the lake "Who am I kidding? She'll never accept me" He hadn't even noticed the other person walk up, he was too mad at himself for screwing up and he didn't even know how he did. Zero use to be observant, he shrugged his shoulders 'must be the new blood' he thought to himself and then got to his feet. He shoved his hands in his pockets and with his head bowed staring at the ground he started to walk away "I'm sorry Alyss, wish I could have known you better" he said to the lake cause he didn't know where she was and she was probably avoiding him now.
He started back to the school, he might as well head to the dean's office to tell him that he won the deal and that he now had a new servant to add to his collection. "Wonder what he'll have me doing now" he wondered out loud. While also thinking of all the things that he would have to pack cause he was sure that the Dean wouldn't let him keep his room with the students.

What was that all about? He walked away as if he didn't even see her. Frustrated, instead of staying still she stood up and went after him. "So that's it?"
she demanded when she caught up to him. "You're not even going to talk to me? You're just going to walk right past me as if I don't exist?" her eyes flashed dangerously as her temper started to spark, and his anger was just adding to her's. [/blockquote]

For once in his existence Zero jumped out of his skin, falling over onto his ass on the ground. "Oh Hell!" He screamed as he looked up to see Alyss, he hadn't seen her or felt her. He really must have been in his own little world. Once he calmed down and picked himself up off the ground he rubbed the back of his neck as his cheeks got a nice hint of pink to them. "Um...no, I just...um didn't see, er feel you" he said and then stopped himself. Was he really being anxious around her or had she really caught him off guard. "I was looking for you and couldn't find you..." He stopped walking and turned to her "I am sorry for what ever I did to make you mad. It was not my intentions to do that, there's just things going on right now that are very sensitive and if the wrong person found out then thing could be much worse for me...please don't hold my own stupidity against me" after he finished he bowed but instead of just bowing his head he bent at the waist and bowed even lower then he had before to her. He wanted to show her that he was sorry and that he had respect for her whether she believed him or now.

Alyss didn't mean to scare him like that. She felt bad, especially since she sensed that he wasn't lying. He was anxious about something, but what was there to be anxious about?"Look, I'm.... sorry for getting mad."
She actually cringed a bit when the word 'sorry' came out of her mouth. Apologizing wasn't something that she did easily, and an apology from Alyss meant that she was admitting that she was in the wrong. This was something that only happened 3 times in her entire life. "I shouldn't have pushed you to tell me something that you're obviously not comfortable talking about, and for that I apologize." [/blockquote]

His brows knitted together, why was she apologizing. She hadn't done anything wrong, Zero stood straight again and looked at her trying to figure out what she was feeling but being knew to all this he got nothing. "You have nothing to be sorry for. I'm the one that got you involved in this and it's only right that you know what that is" Zero looked around to make sure that no one else was around since Alyss was able to surprise him then who else was around. Maybe he should take her back to his room to explain things well...that was unless she still wanted to know what was going on. "Um...so, did I completely shoot myself in the foot or is there still time for me to redeem myself" he said hoping that she understood what he was talking about.

What to do, what to do? Alyss was silent for a long moment as she considered her options. What she should do was apologize again, and tell him that it was best if they just stayed away from each other. It would be better for the two of them. But instead she found herself giving in. "Fine,"
she said at last, making the words sound as if she didn't really want to but had no other choice. The whole effect was ruined as a sheepish smile crossed her lips. "But now you have some serious redeeming to do." [/blockquote]

Her one word was like a stone being thrown at him and he cringed away from her. Ok so he was seriously screwed "Alright then, I guess I'll just leave you alone" he said hanging his head again "I have to go talk with the Dean then and tell him that he won" he headed back to the school once again, thinking of all the groveling that he would have to do just to keep a room in this damn place. It was way too cold for him to stay outside and he loathed sleeping outdoors. But then he stopped, did she really say that? Was she giving him a second shot? The next question was, did he have enough time to pull this off? Staying where he was cause he didn't know what to do now. "Redeem myself? How?"

Once again he walked away from her, and once again she went after him. "Will you stop walking away from me?"
this time when she caught with him she took his elbow so he wouldn't be able to run off. "How you redeem yourself is up to you. I'm sure you can think of something," she said with a wiry smile. "Although you can never go wrong with telling me about this deal. If you wanted to tell me that is," she added quickly. The last thing she wanted to do was pressure him so he ended up walking away from her again, maybe this time for good. "If not, a date works just as well." Did she just say that? She was shocked by her words, but it was too late to take it back now [/blockquote]
