Evelyn almost said something to Mhenen about his tone but realized that the loss of his hair might have been something very personal to him and so it was understandable for him to be frustrated. She grit her teeth, her prejudice that he was a witch threatening to break through into her actions and mannerisms. She knew she couldn’t though and everything she had been taught as she grew was clashing inside of her. She took the higher road though, if you could call it that, and pretended Mhenen was any other servant She pretended he wasn’t a witch. The anger towards him vanished but it was instantly replaced by a flame that lit inside her and it was directed towards whoever had cut Mhenen’s hair. She dressed herself quickly in a white dress that was tighter fitting at trunk of her body but fanned out in loose waves at her hips. The sleeves were long and she slipped on a pair of white gloves with buttons at the wrists. Stepping out of her closet, she stopped by Mhenen, her face set in a hard expression of displeasure. She tried to relax herself before touching him on the shoulder. “Can you point him out by voice?” She questioned before turning her back towards him. “Lace up my back please.” She added as an afterthought. When she was done she walked over to her small vanity and put on her veil, letting her nearly silver blond hair fall out in the braid Mhenen had done last night. He had done a nice job, the tightness holding even through the night. She would probably undo it a little through the day and enjoy the temporary wavy hair it would cause. Turning back towards Mhenen, she listened to his response. Someone was going to be punished for harassing her servant. It mattered not that he was a witch or that he was new. Whoever had taken part would be forced to apologize among other things. She moved towards him, touching his back and leading him back to the table. “Sit and eat. I’m not hungry this morning. A servant will come and orient you to your duties but that shouldn’t take all morning. I will be out riding and since you cannot see, I don’t need you to accompany me. I will find someone else.” She informed him, taking a bread roll off of the tray, wanting something on her stomach despite it feeling full of air. She stepped over to the door, opening it with enough noise to let him know she was leaving. “What happened to you is unacceptable and the guilty individual will be punished. If you find them crossing your path again today, find out their name and give it to me.” Her tone sounded harsh, betraying her anger at the act. “Have a good morning, Mhenen.” She said, her tone a bit softer, though it was obviously forced. Grabbing a white cloak from next to the door, she left. ~~~ She ate her bread roll by the time she was out of the hallway. After making her way outside, her mood felt lighter. She didn’t raise her hood as she walked, the slight wind today pressing her veil against her nose and cheeks. It was sunny out, though the clouds in the distance spoke of rain that would probably hit midafternoon. Blinking in the sun, she looked away from the sky and at the gated courtyard to the temple. Only workers and certain guests were allowed where she was and she took a breath in of clean air, the sounds of morning and work soft but present. She realized that she had forgotten to find someone to accompany her and thought for a moment of just going alone, though she realized the scandal would not be worth the trouble. She sighed and decided to continue on to the stables as she was nearly there. She could have a stable boy fetch someone for her. Three young stable hands ran past her in a rush, their youth making her smile as they bumped into each other as they turned their heads and spoke a proper greeting that was lost in their haste. She watched them run before continuing on. She looked down as she stepped over the barrier to the stables, her boots the lightest of brown. She smiled, wondering how she looked entering the stables. She had been told it was improper and shoed from it as a child, but she still snuck in and took every chance she could to be with her horse. She loved the creatures, intelligent and loyal as they were. When she looked up from the hay strewn dirt floor, a bit of air escaped her. She was surprised to find someone other than herself in the stables. She stepped a bit closer, her shoes making the hay on the floor rustle some. It was a man, his hair brown and facial hair present. The side of his face seemed rugged but the sunlight that crept in from an open door highlighted his young features and Evelyn found that he couldn’t have been much older than her. Of course, she recognized him from the meeting earlier, having commended him before. Her lips curled into more of a smile as she was pleased to have run into him. Knights fascinated her and of course, she might have just found someone to accompany her, if he was willing. “Good morning, Sir Hawthorne.” She said as her tone neglected to give away the surprise she felt. She kept her posture straight and head held high. He wouldn’t be able to see her pleasure in finding him here, only see the shape of her face. Of course, the wind was mostly gone inside of the stables and so her veil hung limply, the shadow of her face barely visible. She took another step towards the knight and realized how great the size difference was between them. It wasn’t intimidating to her though she knew he could break her like a twig. Still, she had never been one to intimidate easily and she supposed it came from her mother’s strict tutelage.

Rin was in the process of brushing out his horse's mane when he felt someone in the barn. A trained eye could see his shoulders knotting defensively, but to others he looked nonchalant and at place. "It's a woman..." The voice in his head hissed and he wanted to make a snide comment back to her. His witch could get so snippy...He was curious to see what this woman wanted and who she was, but it was a bit before he actually turned around. He waited till he was addressed, the voice soft and familiar. He looked over the large horse and saw a petite woman, one he recognized even with the veil covering his face. It made him smile to see the priestess there and he gave her a bow, as custom dictated since she was his superior. "Good morning, ma'am." He said though his smile had a humored nature to it, especially since he noticed she was on her own. That was a big social no-no. Wouldn't those old men have a hay day to find out she was in such a 'filthy' place all alone? He went back to tending his horse, an almost dismissive action. Most when addressed by their superiors would drop everything to cater to them, especially someone of her level. But Rin didn't think that way. She interrupted him and hadn't said she came here for him specifically so he would continue his work. "I must say I'm surprised to see you here, milady. Especially without an entourage." He said, since usually they made such a fuss over the leaders of the temples. He knew little of the customs past minor social protocol when dealing with women of her stature since he spent so much time traveling outside the temples. Which was why he was a little more open with his speech. He had a tendency to say what came to mind. She would just have to forgive him for that.

When asked if he could identify the one who did it he shook his head, he had no idea at this moment however he did lace up her shirt as she requested, it only took him a few second as it was old practice from helping his sister. He heard her walk away from him and he sighed, he was wanting to take a break but if she was headed out that probably meant he had to go with. "I can't." He said sounding slightly deflated as he assumed she ahdn't seen him shake his head to ehr questin he felt he had to state it for her. He jumped a bit when she suddenly touched his back and made him sit and eat the break fast he had brought for her to eat. He listened to her and knew he was going to ahve to stay here until some one did come to help him anyhow. He heard her step away and her anger showed that he had been hazed by another, it made him smile a bit that she was goign to get the idiot back for him since he couldn't himself. "You as well lady Evelyn- enjoy your mornign ride." He said as he sat there, hearing the door click closed he sighed, listenign to his stomach give a grumble. He finaly gave up and ate the food, it was good, that actually surpised him. -------------- The court yard out by the stables was the perfect place for him to show off his prize as most the servents were there adn preparing things for the day, animals were being fed, laundry sorted and prepared for washing, food was washed and sorted- it was there that things were started in the mornign therefore the best plac eto show of his prize of the day- the pretty boys braid, He took a ladies hat from a landry woman and she gave a small shout calling him out on it. He slipped hte braid up under it and tired it making it seem liek ti was his hair. "Russell- you ass! Bring back Lady Landra's hat!" She yelled at him a bit of a playful tone to it however knowing Russell was a playful type. "Oh- me? No, I'm not Russell- Hes far to handsome for me- I'm jsut a simple maid with a long braid! oh my." He said sounding like a girly man- well as much as a man with a deep voice could have. He went on about the court yard loudly making it clear who he was trying to be when he randomly bumped into other women and grabbed them playfully," Sorry I'm blind." He would say adn cast them a wink. He however wasn't really aware of anyone else being about in the courtyard- much less the stables this morning except staff.

Evelyn raised brow at Sir Hawthorne’s words and she let out an airy chuckle that proved her amusement. He was interesting, not using perfect formal speech and even using humor. She would have to see how long that would last. Despite common thought, it didn’t anger her when others dismissed perfect social protocol. It amused her because it was so unexpected. Indeed, it also made her smile that he seemed to only vaguely care that she was out alone. Of course the temple officials would have a hay day if they knew where she was, despite the fact that she was still in the gated temple grounds that no one was allowed access to unless they worked there. “Yes, well what the men of the court don’t know will not harm them.” She teased with humor in her tone. She walked up closer to the pen, examining the creature that was being tended to by the knight. He was a great horse, large and beautiful. She held out her hand towards the creatures nose, though didn’t touch, keeping far enough away that if it tried to nip she could pull away. Some horses were very picky about those that touched them. Her eyes glanced from the pretty animal and back to Sir Hawthorne, her head tilting to the side slightly, causing her veil to press against her cheek a little and show it outline a bit more firmly. Her pale hair almost seemed to blend into the veil, though the splash of sunlight brought forth the yellows in her blonde hair. “You have a gorgeous steed, Sir Hawthorne.” She stated simply, though she lowered her hand at this point, grasping her gloved fingers in the small of her back. She blinked slowly, examining the pair before deciding that they suited each other as many animal and human companions did. She didn’t have to know each of their personalities fully to see that they trusted each other. It was funny how sometimes one grows closer to their animal companions than to a fellow human. A light breeze fluttered in, bringing the sounds of the servants preparing for the morning and the scent of early fall. Looking outside as she next spoke, her tone was soft. “It’s such a lovely morning; I was planning on going for a ride out in the hills by the forest just east of here.” She informed him, her stomach clenching some as the scent of cooking food wafted in and over powered the scent of hay and horse, though briefly. It seems she should have eaten breakfast before coming out. “My new servant is blind and cannot accompany so I was debating whether or not to find someone to take his place or if I should just ignore the rules and ride out on my own.” She walked along the side of the stall doors and to the one next to Sir Hawthorne where her white mare was calmly looking at her. Evelyn reached out and gently stroked her horse’s nose, looking back at the knight to her left. “But, now that you are here, it seems my decision has been made.” She paused, her eyes looking out the window. “That is, if you wouldn’t mind accompanying me on a ride?” It was a question that he could deny and her tone said that. She was not using her power to force him into anything. She was sure that this knight had something important he needed to do before he left on his assigned mission. Evelyn had always been fond of knights though, ever since she was a child. They always seemed to be so free, traveling about and completing missions. A part of her longed to travel and see the world but she had a duty to her mother and to God. She had made her vows and had been chosen, whether she liked it or not. While she waited for her answer, Evelyn’s odd green eyes caught sight of something in the courtyard through one of the open stable doors. Her jaw tightened and eyes narrowed, posture stiffening and somehow managing to become even straighter than previously. Out prancing around with the other servants was an ugly example of a man who had just stolen a hat and was waving around a long silver braid of hair. She recognized the color instantly and anger seethed in her. She had to push it down for risk of doing something that was below her position. She was a woman of God; anger was something she should control. Although she was taught to be kind and forgiving towards others…there would be no learning without a little punishment fueled by wrath. She didn’t realize until after taking a deep breath that her hand had been gripping the door to her horse’s stall. “I apologize, Sir Hawthorne. Please hold your reply for a moment.” She stepped back from the stall, her head turned towards the exit to the courtyard. “Something in the courtyard requires my attention.” Her tone sounded icy by the end, different from the girlish and calm persona from moments ago. She turned her back to Sir Hawthorne, not really caring if he followed or not. She stepped out into the courtyard, her boots making no sound and the wind catching her white cloaking, almost making her look like a winged angel. The man didn’t notice her at first but some of the other servants did, their smiles of amusement fading slightly as they saw her. She wondered how they would react if they could see the scathing expression on her features, a mix of cold anger and confidence that could only come from someone knowing that they had control of another. “Stop that immediately.” She said in commanding tone that hid her anger except for the harsh clipped words. She stopped in front of the man and took the braid from him, examining it. “Where did you get this?” She questioned, wondering if she would get an honest answer and knowing one way that tended to work on most others. “And do remember, I am a chosen one of the Lord. He hears all I hear and sees all I see. Do not think of lying to me.”

Rin blinked slowly at the woman's laugh, not used to the sound. He rarely laughed and even rarer still had people that laughed around him. Not that he wasn't perfectly capable of humor, he just felt it took an odd thing or two to actually draw a chuckle from him. Her comment was even more surprising, especially since it was opposite of what he expected. Here he expected the woman to be at least demur about being caught breaking the rules, but instead she was owning her decision, a very unique thing for a woman of the church. He didn't take his eyes off her as she moved over to his horse, Dante, the dark brown destrier staying actually still as the woman approached. She was right not to touch him, but Rin actually wondered a moment if Dante would have nipped. The big animal actually looked like he was curious, turning its head so it could examine her veiled face. His usual smile slipped into a look of neutrality as he thought about exactly why this woman was so keen on making conversation with him. It must have been for something...And lo and behold...After complimenting his horse, she went on to approach one he assumed was hers. The animal in white seemed to fit her. She told him about plans of a ride and eventually got around to asking him to accompany her in place of her blind servant. Blind? Did those fools really hire a blind servant to care for her, much less a man? Rin wanted to shake his head, perhaps even roll his eyes. So now that the truth was out, what was to be his answer? In all honesty, he could go both ways. Part of him wanted to say no and leave, while the other half was curious about this odd priestess...She was an odd girl and perhaps one worth learning a little more about. He opened his mouth to answer, but they were cut off by sounds of merriment and obnoxious laughter from the courtyard. Rin's mouth shut audibly and his dark eyes flitted to the door way and away from the priestess. Even as she spoke, he didn't look at her. Seems she had something invested into the odd display of the servant with the hat and strand of cut hair, which was shown by her moving to the door and into his view. He cocked his head at her ethereal almost appearance and he couldn't help that his distraction made him follow. He stopped at the door however, still in range of it all. He watched the servants freeze at sight of this woman and it made him smirk at the anger that was priorly in her voice. So the little priestess had guts? This would be fun to watch...

He was playing around when he heard the command. He froze and looked over his shoulder to see the Priestess of all people looking in his direction- the white veil looking intimidating as her voice did. "Ah- Forgive me for disrupting your morning Priestess. My deepest apologies, I myself am a man on God. I just loaned a hand to another this morn and helped them into uniform. This is merely for moral Miss." He said bowing low- his words partway truth but not really a lie- it was required for men to have short hair, females as well. He didn't like it when others got away with breaking rules just because they were new- he was there to make them know the rules. He figured this woman of any wouldn't care what he did with another servant- they were all below her after all. Its not like the boy was her personal lap dog- they usually only let females do that job so he was fresh meat.

Evelyn’s eyes widened before narrowing into a glare that could pierce the soul if it wasn’t for her veil. Her lips were in a frown as she listened to the man’s words. He made it sound so innocent, as though Mhenen had asked for it himself. Of course, she knew the rule that servants were to have short hair as a sign of their stature. In her sleep deprived nature last night she had neglected to mention it to the witch. Of course, that was no excuse for treating him in such a manner. She knew that it wasn’t as innocent as the man had made it out to be. He was obviously a bully, one that got kicks from humiliating others. She grit her teeth before speaking, unaware that she had made an audience of Sir Hawthorne and uncaring with what the other servants would think of her after this. She was known as one of the kindest high priestesses with how she treated her servants, especially those that worked directly with her. She wasn’t cruel and would dress and feed herself unlike many. Many concluded that it was therefore right to support her despite her young age, thinking that she was fit for the title due to her perceived benevolence. Evelyn hummed some, reaching out and gently grabbing the braid from the man. It was long and made her wonder how the length compared to her own. Of course that sort of thought was inappropriate at the moment and so she pushed it from her mind. “I don’t quite believe that is all there is to the story.” She said simply. “The man whose hair you cut this morning is my new personal servant. He came to me this morning and I found him quite upset over the sudden loss of his hair.” She paused, her tilted head away from the braid and back towards the man who was of course, much taller than her; at least by two heads. “You see, Mhenen is blind and so he had no idea what was occurring at the time…” She trailed off suddenly, her anger surging as her imagination placing images in her mind. She tossed the braid back at the man, her stature so straight and commanding that she felt taller than the man despite their difference in height. “What gave you the idea that you are the one responsible for dolling out punishment? How did you get it into your skull that you would think it acceptable to do such a thing?” Her tone had turned almost icy and she stepped so that she was very close to the man, aware that it would be dangerous for him to do anything but take a step backwards. “You are a servant and should act as such. As far as status goes, he is above you and committing such an act against your superiors is grounds for punishment.” The servants around them had begun to either back up or had silenced themselves completely creating an eerie silence that usually did not occur in the courtyard at this time of the day. “You are to go and apologize to Mhenen right away and then after that, I want you to report to Sister Mary and tell her that I have sent you on the grounds of insubordination.” Evelyn took a breath, taking a step back some, though it was not in a retreating manner. It was almost as though she was a predator giving just enough room to the prey so that it thought it had a chance at escape, though that was the best time to pounce. “She will dole out your punishment and I should warn you—“Her tone took an almost humorous edge, though she hid it by clearing her throat at the end. She felt it wrong to enjoy anothers pain, even when they were being punished for an act that was deemed wrong. “She is not kind to those who lie. Do I make myself clear?” She questioned, making sure she had the male servant’s full attention. She waited for his reply before nodding. “Well then, move. Off you go.” She turned around after shooing him away and was surprised to find Sir Hawthorne watching her. She took a few steps before turning her head around to see what the servant was doing. “And if I hear that you have not gone to Sister Mary by this evening, you will be punished severely.” She called out before making her way back to the stable, ignoring the mutters that popped up around her. She stopped in front of Sir Hawthorne, taking a breath to let out the anger. “I apologize for that Sir Hawthorne. Your response from earlier?”

Rin watched the servant boy play coy and knew that this was going to be entertaining. If there was one thing he learned from traveling so much and being around enough types of people to count, you didn't lie to a woman or a least not badly...they had a sense of vengeance and were quite deadly when they had power. The servant stumbled into the cats claws so easily Rin almost felt bad for the man, if he wasn't already giving into a light chuckle. He sobered when a servant girl spared him a look, actually looking displeased by his laughter at another's expense. He returned he look with a rather flippant smile before watching the scene again. The words spoken by the priestess were powerful in stature and biting in meaning. She was angry for her little servant, as was dictated since he was a blind boy. That was shocking in and of itself, but a kind heart was given by many towards those of special cases. Her authority was shown clearly and the boy would be a fool not to heed them. All the more fun if he did ignore them however...perhaps he could give this Mary a few suggestions on how insubordination was handled in the knights order... When the woman turned towards Rin, he stood a little straighter, out of reflex mostly. The woman held a commanding presence that intrigued him. Seems like a ride would be fun after all...He gave her the slightest of smiles at her apology, before he bowed his head slightly. "It would be my pleasure, high priestess." He said before motioning to the barn as would a humble gentleman to an entrance.

Russell scampered off looking rather pale he however got some of his bolster back when he was out of sight. he was making his way to where the priestess's halls were to find him however he heard the blind boy before he saw him, as he was sitting with another maid. She was explaining random duties, such as landry and helping her undress and how to go about things since he was a male. He leaned against the door way and smirked at her, she scowled at him and was silent making the boy look up a bit confused. "Whats wrong?" he asked wondering exactly why his new friend was silent. "I don't know, you went like a rat and squeaked to your new little master." Mhenen heard the voice and knew exactly why it was and why he was there. "I did no such thing, I was to report and let Lady Evelyn eat her food. Shove off." he stated as he stood up and faced the direction the voice came from. Russell smirked," So the wee boy had some balls after all. Now why don't you apologize to me for giving me such problems." Mhenen laughed at that and pushed some now short hair out of his face. "You think I am a push over because I'm blind? Get over your self old man." He stated as he glared in the general direction, he however heard an intake of breath from his friend who sounded a bit scared. "Mhenen, I don't think that this is a good idea." She said quietly as she put a hand on his shoulder lightly. Russell smiled and took a step forward- his shoes making a noise on the wooden floor there and he smiled, he knew exactly where he was now. ----- Maids were scurrying about in worry for when the Priestess would come back since she was missing however there were other problems it seemed. The courtyard was in a rumored uproar where servants were whispering and gossiping as they went about- other nobles were talking about it now that they were awake and were about.

Evelyn nodded some, happy that Rin had decided to accompany her. “Very well then.” She replied, entering the stable first, finding his gesturing to be rather odd for how a knight would treat her. Once inside of the barn, she proceeded to prepare her horse. The hardest part was the saddle. Anyone could tell, just by looking at her, that she wasn’t a strong woman. She had a short and thin build that was not one built out of hard work. When she reached her saddle, she attempted to pick it up, finding it heavier than she had expected. She remembered moving saddles around only once before but that had been many years ago and she had been full of muscle from childhood adventures around the temple as she snuck in an out of the different corridors. Of course, even her strength back then was weak compared to most children. With the saddle in her hands, Evelyn staggered slightly, frowning as she looked to her horse and back down at her saddle. She wondered if she was going to be able to lift it that high. Still, she didn’t want to as for Rin’s help unless she had to. She didn’t enjoy showing weakness in front of others. The old men that disliked her in the council just used her weaknesses against her, though she didn’t really see the point. She hoisted the saddle when next to her horse, managing to get it on and glad for her veil because her face was a bit red from embarrassment of her un-lady like display. She tethered the saddled and tightened the straps, knowing what she was doing. It was just her body strength that was lacking. Finally she walked her horse out and looked to Rin. “Are you ready to go?”

Rin tried not to pay her display of effort with the saddle much mind, especially since it was a rather funny sight. To laugh however could result in severe punishment, so he opted to simply smirk as he dealt with his horse. His large steed looked at the white mare and grunted, as if it decided it was suitable enough to ride with him. Rin knew his horse had a bit of a competitive streak with other animals since it felt it was dominant to all. He wouldn't let his horse do anything stupid to upset the priestess however...though he doubted she upset easily over trivial things. The bit with the servant and the display with the saddle was enough to show him she didn't cry for help or back down easily at least. It was a good quality to have, especially in her seat of power. Men would try to walk all over her, but he had a feeling she could walk over them in those well polished shoes just as well. When asked if he was ready, he nodded, though he wondered if the woman could mount the horse. He wouldn't offer since she seemed confident enough. "As I'll ever be. Now do you have a set course for your ride?" He asked as he pulled himself up onto his horse's back. The animal trotted back a little, looking ready to take off in a sprint, though a quick tug of the reigns seemed to cure the animal of the idea.

"Its good to see your all finally awake and well! Today you will be helping me out to your fullest- If not you will be killed-now that that little nasty bit is out of the way- lets get on with the rules!" The tall man began to pace as he walked with a large smile on his lips, wondering exactly what was going on, he however looked at a few others before her with a smile that creeped her out. "I am always right! There for when I saw Jump- you say?" The man prompted another girl, using a finger under her chin to get an answer but it was wrong. "Yes?" The girl stuttered out obviously scared of this man. "How high?" Crona blurted out wondering if her answer would redirect the man from this frightened girl who collapsed from shaken knees after the man turned to look at her. She raised her chin with pride and looked the man in the face,"Correct. However witch- you will have to be separated from the others- I don't want you spoiling my crops." He said as he placed a barked order for his men to search for other mages. Only finding her and the other boy whom she had spoken to eailer they were shoved into a cage that was too small for even one person- crammed against one another they were squeezed in. Grinding her teeth hard against the pain she kept quiet wondering if she could sneak out of this mess- or if she could convince a guard to let her out. She knew very well this wasn't supposed to happen- these were terrible men and her tribe wouldn't have wished this on her- hell even her brother.
