“Oculos stellatum per unam viam promissis” Said the high Witch to her as it was her new motto to live by. Each was given one to use as a guild in life as they matured to a proper age for a young witch. “Oculos ab tenebrarum, quae omnino nec future”, as was announced next as her brother that was beside her. It had been a long while since Twin witches had been born however their paths would lead to very different paths. Her name was Crona- her witch name was ‘Starry eyes, and one way promises’- her brothers was much darker. ‘His eyes from the darkness, which have nor ever shall be’ His name was Mhenen, they were the children of Deuskiy, The Prominent Wind magic tribe, there were a few from others but they were mainly remnants from tribes destroyed.
Her brother never had it easy being the second born of twins, He was seen as unimportant, nothing to be looked after, his sister being first born was much more promising since Twins were unlikely for witches and that was a sign of bad luck. She remembered days when she would be in classes with every other child when her brother was forced to stay home and stay indoors because he was an undesirable. She didn’t agree with it ever, she would bring her prizes home and give them to him as she spoiled him rotten. She however noticed how with their facial features they looked alike however with his inability to go outside really- his pigmentation was off a lot. His white hair clashed with her black and his pale eyes were blind to hers that were a deep green. His skin pale as her had seen the sun, he was strong however- she knew that because he kept to keeping busy until she got back to teach him everything she had learned in class.
She walked inside the house with a smile on her lips with her brother on her arm, they had to give him a name, and it was a very cryptic one which made her giggle. “And what are you giggling at?” He asked her, her voice deeper than it used to be when they were children however it was just as smooth. “Nothing,” She said with a smirk as she danced about the house in her dress wondering what to do now, they were full-fledged witches now not just apprentices. They had a choice to go travel, work for the temples as they saw fit, or to stay and work in the village. She hadn’t ever strayed far but she wanted to- however she couldn’t leave her brother- they had been too close. “Stop lying- what is it.” He said again as he said it in her direction wondering what was making her giggly. Was his hair a mess? Did he have something on his face? “I was just thinking about when we were little, how they said neither of us would be much since we were twins, but now look at us. We made it 18 years- and now we are free to do as we wish.” She said with a smile however he didn’t smile, his tone a bit more somber as he went over to his room- feeling along the wall as he always did. “We can leave then?” He asked wondering if she wanted to leave, he had remembered her talking about leaving when they were younger but he had grown accustomed to hearing things in her voice as her emotions and expression and such. If he didn’t understand an expression he would have to see with his hands, as most blind did.”Mhenen, my dear brother- I can’t leave without you with me. You know that.” She said with a sly smile as she looked into her brothers’ room. He stopped and turned around to look towards the door with a smile of his own,” Stop the smirking- and don’t come in here- I’m getting out of these damned robes- they are uncomfortable in this heat.” He said with a shooing motion as he knew she was there. She giggled then left back into the main room to make some tea for them however there was a knock on the door. She had her hands on the tea cabinet, she looked at the door as another knock came. Going over she opened it to see a man she remembered from the ceremony when she and her brother earned names, he looked a bit tired, and his eyes pinched with some age but looked young enough still. She bobbed her head in greetings as she wondered what brought him there. “What can I help you with?” She asked knowing her brother could hear everything she just wondered if it wasn’t good news or bad news. He frowned a bit and looked about,” We have assignments for you and your brother. Report to the High witch just after dark. Be prepared to leave.” He said simply making her look at him with wide eyes before nodding. The man said his peace then left knowing he didn’t need to be there any longer than necessary.
Mhenen and Crona went as was requested to see the High witch. It was just past dark when they arrived as was planned only Crona was nervous about it. They were shown in however were asked to wait. “Stop that fidgeting already.” He said in a stern tone as his sister was changing feet and fidgeting with her hands and arms as if trying to shake out some sort of relief. “Sorry, I’m just nervous- I don’t have a good feeling about this,” He smiled at her,” Everything will be fine. Hopefully we get out of this place.” He heard his sister sigh at his words and understand them but she still seemed nervous. He ignored it feeling almost excited to be getting an assignment this early. The man with narrowed eyes showed them in- Crona was careful to describe things quietly to her brother since it was rude to touch things. They stood in front of a screen- a thin barrier the Witch liked to use to see others personally- however never face to face. “I have been requested to submit to a request of the temples. They have requested a pair of witches who can communicate well at a distance for them. You are assigned to this now.” She said simply not giving any change for them to turn it down. She never did, she was seen to have vast wisdom in doing things. Mhenen however tried to speak however a choking sound came out. “You can’t be serious?” Crona asked her never wanting to be separated from her brother. They had never been away from each other long. Mhenen couldn’t speak- it was like his throat closed up- however he stood there in shock until both were lead out by a few others to a pair of witch hunters who were silent. Both were mounted on horses of black, almost blending in with the night about them like a blanket. Crona was handed to one- who put her on the horse behind him and told her to hold on. She did as was told however she was sobbing quietly and looking at her brother who was being handed to another man who told him the same. He clasped his hands tightly about the ma n never having been on a horse before, he let out a small noise of fright. He wasn’t used to this- sudden movements- he was practically disorientated here. Of the ground nothing to tell things by- all he could tell was the man in front of him needed to be on a diet. He smelled of temple incense however his head jerked right when he felt it sting, he assumed a branch got him- since he felt similar feelings about on his legs and arms. He clung to him hard until they stopped. His legs numb, his mind in so many places as once, however the only thing he really asked was where his sister was. The man of course ignored him. He was told to follow but he stood there silently and waited for the man to speak again. “Are you dumb- follow me.” He said again making him get a bit frustrated,” I’m blind. I can’t really follow what I can’t see.” He said honestly however it held a bit of attitude. The man took him by the shoulder and steered him to where ever they were going however. He was passed off a few more times before he was sat in a quiet room and told to wait. He sighed heavily thinking where they had left him. He let his hands in his lap however he cocked his head to the side listening to a small noise he heard, it sounded like the trickle of water. It was relaxing however he just wanted to go back to his small house he knew and eat dinner with his sister. Sitting there he looked upset and miserable however he had his hands in his lap and sat quietly- what other choice did he have?

Evelyn’s jaw was set as she clenched her teeth, though this went unseen by the middle aged and elderly men sitting before her. She was grateful that her face was shielded by the white veil her position required of her and she swallowed hard, her frustration with one particular man in the bunch dissipating slightly. It didn’t do well to show emotions over something as trivial as a disagreement in opinions. She held the power here and the man knew it despite the snide smile the curved his lips. Composing her face, Evelyn spoke out in an authoritative tone that should have belonged to one far older than her. “While I understand you point, Richard, I fear that you have overstepped your bounds.” There was unrest among the group before her and the man who was addressed, having balding dark brown hair and heavy set eyebrows, scoffed. He sat forward in his chair, his elbow pressing into the light wood of the rectangular table they were all seated at, save for Evelyn who was standing at the head. “How could I be outside of my bounds when I am speaking with girl a third my--?” “Enough! I will not stand to have my decisions questioned by the likes of you who only grovel at the feet of those who might further your fruitless path in life. ” Evelyn spoke out, tired of the Richard’s insolence. His eyes were hard and expression showing annoyance at Evelyn’s show of authority. Murmurs broke out and the man next to Richard leaned in, whispering something. He blew air out of his nose in displeasure of what was said before giving a smile like wax, his next words dripping with sarcasm. “Of course, my great High Priestess, please forgive my poor display.” Evelyn nodded, though her expression was less than pleased. This man had caused her nothing but trouble in the past few meetings that she had been called to. She much preferred when she hid behind the curtain and was asked to depart her wisdom. She was not done with this man but she would let his words pass by for now. She wanted out of this meeting so that she could get some rest for the night. There had been too many late night calls due to bandit attacks in the outer villages. She was beginning to think a stronger hand would need to be used to deal with them. Clearing her throat she adjusted her stiff posture. “As for your question earlier, Sir Traton, I do believe you require reinforcements. I will approve your request.” She turned her attention to another male, a younger one. He had risen through the ranks quickly but was a promising knight. “Before I allow you all to leave, I must bring attention the commendable actions taken by Sir Hawthorne for capturing a well-known criminal by the name of Ansger. On behalf of the church and our loyal followers, we thank you.” She bowed her head as a sign of gratitude, something rare but she felt fitting for his brave act. There seemed to be a bit of shock from the older members of the group at this action, but she ignored it, continuing on. “There is another mission for you now in the northern territories. Sir Traton will inform you of the details; however you are to report to your station in two days’ time. “She took a step back, the group standing suddenly. “That will be all. You all may take your leave.” Waiting no more, she stepped down from her platform, her feet tired from having stood for nearly two hours straight. Despite the discomfort, she walked with perfect posture and practiced steps until she was out of the room and down the hall. A serving girl was there to greet her, surprising Evelyn some as she stepped out from the wall and curtsied. “Priestess, might I escort you to your room? You have a new manservant.” The young girl’s voice was timid and Evelyn smiled some. Those that were kind to her would receive the same treatment. “I have been expecting a new arrival, though I had not been expecting a male.” She admitted, following the girl as they began to head through the stone hallways of the temple. “Yes, Priestess. He arrived just a little while ago. I have heard that he is blind though, so it seems they felt it a suitable match.” Evelyn nodded and they spoke no more, her mind trying to imagine what sort of man they had found for her. She was left at her door and upon entering; she was confronted with a young man who could have easily been younger than herself. His hair was paler than her silvery blonde tresses, though what caught her attention the most was the expression of misery upon his face. He looked as though he would rather be anywhere else other than where he currently was placed. She shut the door behind her, the metal of the door handle cool through the white elbow length gloves covering her hands. She walked in front of him, her expression friendly, though he couldn’t see it behind the veil, though she did recall the servant girl earlier mentioning that he was blind so it didn’t seem as though it mattered either way. “What’s wrong? Were you not treated well on your way here or are you perhaps hungry?” She questioned, catching sight of his odd yellow green eyes. They were quite pretty and she wondered if he was a witch at first, a sour taste filling her mouth at the thought. It didn’t make much sense to her, however, so she dispersed it and cocked her head to the side. “I wasn’t given your name yet, so forgive me for not addressing you appropriately. I am High Priestess Evelyn Thayer.” She introduced herself and took a step back from the young man, not wanting to frighten him since she was unsure really his circumstances. There were guards almost always present outside of her room so she wasn’t worried that he may try and harm her, after all, they didn’t pick just anyone to become the personal servant of one of the High Priestesses.

Really...how long could these old greying men talk? They didn't have many years left as it was anyways, so they'd rather spend it flapping their lips over something that didn't even matter---speaking of matters, what was Rin to do about his orders for later? Certainly he wouldn't be here long--And really how was he contributing here? He spoke little in these meetings, did nothing more than what he was told. And yet they always called him back from the real world back to this stuffy little room. Ah they could talk and yack about necessity and need, they could even struggle to find balance that would never work for these greedy bastards. They cared for little besides their church and their own skins. Poor priestess had her hands full really for a child. Perhaps child wasn't the right word. She was certainly more poised and mature than the old man that was going at it with her. Rin actually focused momentarily on the little spat, his detached smile actually growing some in humor. He found the old man's response funny, even more so that he was put in his place by the girl. Speaking of women, his little witch had been quiet today. Perhaps it was because it was the anniversary of her lovers death. Hm, had it really already been another year? It seemed not so long ago that he watched his mentor take his dying breath and the light leave his eyes. That was the price for taking a witch and letting it contaminate you. Filthy things really with the ability to manipulate and do things no nature being should. It was unsightly, a curse, a defect that needed to be maintained with strict guiding hands. It was why the church was here...why the knights existed. It was his job however to take care of those that stepped out of line...They were always his favorite, the ones with spirit and fight still left in them. They always made for the better catch... He looked up when addressed, his eyes going to the priestess that addressed him. He bowed his head at her thanks, in return for her own display of gratitude. It really wasn't necessary but he would play to part as law dictated. When the meeting adjourned he went to the halls since he was beginning to have a subtle ringing in his ears, one he couldn't ignore long. Especially when he knew what it signified.... A voice came no sooner had he turned the corner and instantly images of a time passed flashed involuntarily before his eyes. He could see himself as a young boy, abandoned by his family to the service of the temple, his only source of human interaction being his mentor Sir Stavros. He was a large man in the sense of his bulk and height, standing tall enough to be a tree with a busy brown beard and almost squinty eyes. He wasn't much of a catch but he had all his teeth, was strong and valiant, even made a name for himself as a brave knight of honor. What child wouldn't look up to that...even if it was a lie? He was shown a scene when Rin had nearly killed his sparing partner, actually beating the boy to the point he was unconscious. His mentor knew that there was an anger there that needed to be handled, but he was always too weak in Rin's opinion. Sir Stavros was always soft on him like he was fragile or something... "You will encounter suffrage and pain and at times, you will loose hope. Although tired, your determination will lead out of the storm. Anger at times can be your friend but you must let it go for forgiving brings peace. Your mind is set. Once you’ve come to terms with yourself, you can for you’re back in control of your life. Look at me, I am the master of my fate. I am the captain of my soul.” The little speech ended with his hearty chuckle, the images fading from his view into the simple dark hall. Rin gave the shadows an apathetic look, the ringing in his ears not subsiding but not causing pain as it usually did. That meant she was toying with him.... "You're just doing this to make me feel guilt...aren't you?" He said glancing over his shoulder to see a red haired woman there in an almost ethereal form. Her draped and bloody clothing pulled by some otherworldly wind, her hair shifting as if it were truly the flames it reflected, her eyes were black holes that burned at him with a stare that could melt flesh. "You murdered the only person that could love something like you." She hissed, her voice multitoned and mixed with voices that sounded almost demonic. He however didn't bat an eye, his head only tilting upwards as his eyes flicked to the ceiling. "Perhaps..." He smirked, making a pained snarl escape the woman. It drew his attention back as she floated over to him, hands outstretched. She snatched him by the neck, her touch feeling like intense fire on his skin, that though it felt like it was burning and singeing, no mark appeared. "You like to think you are a cold beast Hawthorne but I will break you. You beg for the mercy of death and not find it...I will be sure of that." She faded away, Rin coughing and rubbing his neck. A servant passing by freaked out when he saw him and rushed to help but Hawthorne batted his worry off. He had to go find Traton to get this mission and get the hell out of there.

Mhenen was thinking about what they could have possibly done with his sister when he heard the door open. It opened with a metallic click and it shut quickly afterwards and it was accompanied by light foot steps. They were light, so he assumed it was a female who had walked in, the voice and the light sent of silks and incense confirmed it. When she spoke to him he heard a slight friendly tone, asking if he had been mistreated. He had a solom look on his face still and he shook his head lightly. Moving his face to look up to where the voice was from he assumed he was looking at the person who he couldn't rightly see. His eyes looked about a bit lost as he wondered who he was talking to until she introduced herself as a High priestess of any person. Nodding he stood up carefully and extended his hand almost to shake her hand, his sister had taught him manners after all. He didn't however know how to react to his woman. "Mhenen, that's my name. Where am I?" He asked wondering if she would tell him, he was taken here to a temple but he had no idea where or even why honestly. ------------- Crona wasn't exactly sure what had happened after the ride. Her eyes had felt so heavy they had been traveling at break neck speed all night and threw the day. It was dark again now that she was finally let down. She stumbled a few steps and the man she was with grabbed her roughly by the arm calling her a filthy witch and telling her to hurry up. It wasn't the man she had been riding with but another man who was dress rather well, that alone scared her.

Evelyn observed the boy as he looked towards her. His eyes were unfocused and moving about. She had seen a blind woman before with much the same manner of movements and she smiled gently in a sympathetic gesture. She couldn’t imagine not being able to see. It was an unfathomable thought that pained her as it flashed through her mind. She wondered if he had always been blind but refrained from asking an unnecessary question. She took a step back when he stood, reaching out towards her. Her expression was one of shock and dislike, not liking being touched. Of course, that all stemmed from the fact that no one was to ever see her face nor touch her skin. She realized then that he must not have knowledge of the intricate customs that were usually only told to those working closely with her. She pushed away her irritation at the boy trying to touch her and any ill thoughts she had dispersed as he introduced himself, sounding utterly lost. She stepped forward again and took his hand gently in her silk gloved hands. “That’s a nice name, Mhenen.” She said, sounding a bit concerned as she realized how lost he must be. She was angry at whoever had brought him now. He had no idea where he was and by the sound of it, no idea what his job was to be. “You are in my room in the Eastern Temple.” She let go of his hands and noticed that there were a pair of gloves on a table near where Mhenen had been told to sit at. She walked over and retrieved them before pressing them into his hands. “I will have to speak with whoever brought you here since it seems they did a poor job of explaining everything.” She stated out loud before waving her hands in front of his eyes suddenly to make sure he was blind. It was a precaution more than something out of disrespect. Once satisfied, she moved away from him and removed her veil, setting it down on a table that had a set of brushes and a hand mirror. She picked up the mirror and held it up to look at her face. “Your new role is to be my personal servant. You will help me dress in the mornings, bring my food, though I think it would be best to have one of the serving girls escort you during that task, escort me to my daily duties, and assist me in whatever I ask of you.” She explained, giving him a basic run down of what his duties were. She blinked as she looked into the mirror; her dark green eyes were shocking against her pale skin. Her eyes were the only feature on her body that she disliked. They scared her for green eyes were witches eyes. Only her adoptive mother had known of their color and she had kept it a secret. She blinked again and looked to Mhenen. “There are rules that you must follow when interacting with me.” She began, her tone informative but friendly. She wasn’t trying to seem cruel, but this was information he should have known already. “No one is allowed to touch my skin or to see my face. Your blindness is fortunate in a sense because there is no need to blindfold you, however, you are to wear gloves when coming into contact with me at all times.” Sitting down, she pulled the ribbon that held up her hair. Long silky blond hair that neared silver fell down in sheets onto her back. It reached her bottom when she stood and nearly touched the floor as she was sitting. There was silence as she ran her fingers through her hair, the light colored strands hovering around her cheeks and pale pink lips. She had a pretty face, or so she thought. No one had ever seen it and been able to tell her. She expected questions from Mhenen but wanted help with her hair. He could ask her questions if he needed to then. “Are you any good at braiding hair, Mhenen?” She questioned, wondering if being blind would impede him. She knew nothing of his past and would have to have a very stern conversation with whoever had brought him. She did not like being surprised just as much as she was appalled that this boy had not been informed of his duties.

"So northward I go, Traton?" Rin asked the well dressed night before him, one that was his senior only in age. His thoughts were obvious by the way he didn't call him Sir. The man seemed a bit irked by it but Rin was near oblivious, opting to focus his attention on a candle that burned on the table. "Yes...the hold there has been suffering quite a few disturbances. Mostly from local vigilantes vandalizing the temple for some sort of retribution for stopping their smuggling operations." Rin tilted his head ever so slightly as he stared at the lone candle, seemingly ignoring Traton. Traton's eyes narrowed and his voice about to sound with a snappy order, but Rin spoke before he could. "What were they smuggling?" Traton blinked before clearing his throat and motioning to a paper ledger before him. "Witches. They would cut out their tongues, scar them for easy identification and sell them as slaves to foreigners." Rin raised a brow, looking unfazed while Traton actually seemed to show the creatures sympathy. "And my job is to eliminate the trade?" He asked and Traton shook his head. "Just put the fear of our creator into them and make them stop causing a scene. The Northern temples cannot afford more vandalism before winter comes. The snow and ice will make it impossible for repairs to be made..." Rin nodded and rose, not exactly happy about the remedial assignment, especially since it involved staying in a town. Perhaps it would prove interesting if these slave traders really did know what they were doing. Though he highly doubted that...

He listened to her voice and how it rattled off rules however he was very unsure what she was going on about. "I was told that I was to be a communication speaker that's it. No some nurse maid..." He said however he heard her move around and got a feel for where the room was at. He however took the gloves and put them on since he figured he needed them for something since she did hand them to him. He took a few steps forward as she asked if he could braid and he reached out after a few steps when he felt he was close to something. Reaching out he grabbed her hair lightly, finding it long. Like his sisters hair with a sigh he took more of it like he had his sisters before and braided it into a neat and tight plait down her back. He stepped back put his hands to the side, "I'm assuming I have no choice if this is what they High Counsel decided to punish me by. I guess I should tell you, I am a witch, a Wind if anything- my sister and I have a close connection so we were sent to be communicators-how being some ones hand made makes no sense to me." He said wondering if she had some information to make sense of this to him.

Evelyn’s eyes narrowed Mhenen’s remark at being a nurse maid. He didn’t know what he was talking about nor what he was told but she didn’t appreciate the term as it made it seem as though he was to coddle her. She didn’t say anything though and examined him with her hand mirror as he began to braid her hair, his touch surprisingly light for one with no ability to see. She noticed that he had a good face, though that honestly meant nothing to her. He was young in appearance and in some ways still had the hint of a child in him. She couldn’t imagine him to be any older than her. His face seemed rather placid as his fingers worked through her hair and Evelyn wondered what was going through his mind. When he stepped back as though to examine his work, though she knew he couldn’t, his words gave the answer. She nodded her head at first but when he brought up the High Counsel she paused, lips parting slightly as she turned to face him, her freshly braided hair swinging in a half circle to touch her back once more. He admitted to being a witch, his intriguing eyes making more sense. Evelyn’s jaw tightened at the news, a foul taste in her mouth that she had been given a witch to be her personal servant. She almost felt repulsed at the idea but knew that she couldn’t show it and that she had to show some mercy. They were all God’s creatures, however unnatural it felt to think such a thing. Witches were unnatural creatures in her mind. They were given the ability to bend nature to their will. No creature except for God himself had that right and it felt like sacrilege to allow such a being into the temple…to allow such a being to even touch her. She shivered some but realized that there had been a break of silence for a while and cleared her throat some. She had no true choice in this matter. If she threw him out now knowing he was a witch of the Wind clan than she would risk befouling the peace, if you could call it that, between the Church and the High Council. “I fear that I must agree with you, Mhenen.” She said, her tone a tighter than before. “I would also very much like to know why you were chosen to be my personal servant.” She paused some, standing abruptly. “As would I also like to know who it is you are supposed to be communicating with.” She frowned and stepped past him. There was a nightgown laid out for her on the bed. She fingered it gently before looking to Mhenen. She disliked this boy now but knew that she must put up with him for now, plus she had a few things she needed to find out before acting rash. “I need your help unbuttoning my dress.” She said, turning so that the first thing he would touch would be her back. The idea of a male witch undressing her made her cheek twitch in annoyance but she swallowed the prejudice and maintained her civil self.

The man handed her off to a filthy smelling man, He put a rope on her hands and told her if she even uttered any magic nonsense he would cut her tongue out. She was pushed along into a rather large crate- she also found out she wasn't the only on in the tightly filled box. Another witch it seemed since the boy had green eyes like her, the others avoiding him in the box. "Where are you from boy?" She asked him wondering what tribe he was from. "Veia, you?" He asked since if she had a sense to ask then she was a witch herself. "Deustkiy, whats going on? Where are we going?" She asked, her voice hushed as she heard a few close foot steps. The boy cringed at the foot steps as well and whispered quickly that why were sold property now. That drew a confused look from Crona. "No Your mistaken, I was sent out with my brother for a mission- I'm not property." She said in complete denial of this all. "Shut up in there! Or I'll cut ye tongues out!" A man bolstered to the box as he gave it a few knocks with his fist. She stiffed a small yelp at the sudden noise that was loud in the box she however clutched her hands to her chest and closed her eyes tightly wishing this was all a very bad dream... --------------- Her voice sounded a bit tight however he knew this had to be stressful to a temple worker now. To have a witch around them, when they were viewed poorly. He didn't understand that however the witches viewed the human's poorly in all fairness. He smiled when she said she agreed with his feeling of being a punished child in this situation. "Well, it wasn't exactly my idea either Evelyn, As to whom I was to be speaking with is my friend." He said not wanting to tell this human that he had a twin- hell he didn't want to tell her anything about him much less what he felt obligated to such as his name and what he was doing there. She seemed high strung and snippy almost, some one he dreaded being stuck with however he was carefree and easy going- thanks to his sister who made his life easier. A pang of loneliness echoed threw him as he missed his sister. He wondered if she was happy where she was since she was easily pleased- unlike him, she could coop with just about anything with a smile. His mind was brought back when she said she needed help unbuttoning her dress. This never came across sexual to him- in fact he helped his sister all the time. He took a few hesitant steps, his hands out, one lower in case he ran into something and the other about middle height so he could find her-hopefully. He found the bed post first which he finally found after seven painfully uneasy steps. "You know a little help would be nice- I am blind in a new place." He grumbled to her as he found her back with the buttons on it. He quickly unbuttoned the nine buttons from mid back to her neck line and took the seven steps back the way he came, he didn't care to be close to her at all any more then he had to. It wasn't a hate or a loathing but more of a disdain for her at this moment since she seemed so against him as a person- if she even saw him as such.

“My apologies, Mhenen, it slipped my mind.” Evelyn replied before pursing her lips some as she felt his hands move down her back. “And please call me Priestess or Lady when we are in front of others. It wouldn’t be proper using just my name, however, in private, Evelyn is fine.” She swallowed; glad to have his hands off of her now that she knew he was a witch. She had to try and keep her mouth from using a poor tone when he had called the one he was speaking with his friend. She slid the dress off of her body, a simple white silk cloth covering her body as the white dress was now gone. White, everything was always white. It was a sign of purity and her closeness to God. Still, she had begun to get sick of it and at times longed for the bright dresses she saw other women who walked the streets wearing. She slipped her silk cover off as well, her body nude in front of the blind witch, but she didn’t care. She was used to modest clothing and had undressed in front of men before, however they had been temporarily blinded with a cloth to cover their eyes. She had no fear of them seeing either. Men were something foreign to her, the emotions that other women called love, infatuation, or attraction hadn’t happened to her before. It was something she had never experienced and didn’t understand. She had no knowledge of the male anatomy either, apart from the nude baby angels that were either painted in murals or carved into stone. She felt no shame in those images and wondered why the servant girls giggled over the younger knights when they visited the temple. Grabbing her nightgown, she slipped the soft fabric over her body, pulling the long braid out from the neckline. Blinking slowly, she turned her attention back to Mhenen, who seemed almost awkward around her now that she knew he was a witch. “Your friend must be happy they did not receive your end of the assignment.” She said, trying to get a gauge on how he felt about the church. “And fear not, I have no true desire to know who it is you are speaking with. I am more concerned with who is behind your friend. The one that will be receiving the information you learn.” She trialed off some, frowning in thought. Her pretty pale cheeks took on the glow of the fire in the candles that lit her room and her thick eyelashes accented her witch like eyes. “But enough of this I suppose. I have had a long night and wish to sleep.” She walked towards her bed before turning around and walking towards Mhenen. Her nightgown had sleeves and she used their extra length between her hands and his shirt, gently touching his back, though her lips twisted into a mix of displeasure and discomfort. “I will lead you to the door. Have the guards call one of the servants to lead you to your sleeping quarters. They will also orient you to everything in the morning.” When she got to the door, she opened it. Her tone was softer when she spoke next as her hand left his back. Even though she wiped her sleeve off as though it had gotten dirty, she had a soft spot in her heart for those that seemed lost or weak. Despite Mhenen being a witch, she still found something in him that made her feel like he was a wounded animal that needed her help. She didn’t like it but knew that God taught to be kind to all of his creatures and as of now, the treaty considered witch’s such. “If anyone mistreats you in anyway…tell me.” With that, she let him leave the room and shut the door behind him, her mind whirring on why a witch had just been assigned to a High Priestess as a personal servant. She could only think that those that disliked her in the church, her enemies, were plotting something against her.

Rin wasn't one for sleep, in fact if he was honest with himself he slept less than what a normal being should. He attributed it to a restlessness that settled in his mind whenever he closed his eyes, like something was clawing its way out, something he was better off letting stay in confinement in his already screwed up mind. He knew he wasn't sane and honestly he didn't care. Sanity was only a word. Actions were better than any word could be. He gathered things he would need, starting with his weapons that were choicely polished and sharpened. He was proud of them and his work on them, which showed in the genuine up turn of his lips. Though this mission was sure to be tiresome and boring, he was going to make the best of it. Always stay positive right? Besides maybe he would get in a fight or two from these witch traffickers. He looked back to the papers and raised a brow some at one in particular. It was a notice from the northern temple requesting more help. It was odd since usually temples were well staffed, especially in the coming winter months. He put that away in the back of his mind before slinging his bag over his shoulder and heading to where the horse was waiting for him.

He didn't know what his sister woudl feel about it- he wans't her, but he figured she would rather be there. When she told him to have no fear he did his best not to scoff at her, but coughed instead to cover it in his sarcasm,"Well, I shall endeavor to keep you informed on what I tell them then- when ever we figure out who we are even talking to." He said in a manner that was almost playful but serious. He really didn't know who they were supposed to be reporting to- it made no sense to him. He heard her words and knew he finally got to leave however he half way dreaded that now since he knew no one here, coudn't trust anyone. He heard her little words on if anyone mistreated him, it made him smile a bit, that was something he figured his sister would have said. He heard the door shut and he dropped his head a bit since most people were uncomfortable with his blindness. "Excuse me, Can you call me a servent please?" He called into the hall wondering if there was anyone at all there. To his surpise some one responded and he heard foot falls going down the hall as he stood in front of the door rather akwardly for a few moments. He knew some one else was ther ehowever he heard almsot drunken foot falls come down the hall, the person next to him stood at attention, or atleast straightened up, their armor moving a bit more then usual. When a man spoke he sounded drunk and kinda angry," Out of my way boy, I'm gonna teach that lil' girl a lez-on." He said his speaech slurred as he yelled. Mhenen frowned assuming it was some one this woman he was in charge of made angry in her long evening. "The Lady Evelyn is currently retired for the evening sir, You will have to come back at a later more acceptable time." He stated in a clear and demanding tone, his words sounding a bit 'more' then normal words. The man who had grabbed his shoulder tightly let go and began rambling on about needing another drink. He let out his nervous breath hoping the Preistess didn't hear that mess, she already hated him for being what he coudnt help-but at least he wouldn't let in trouble for that little drunk stint. After a few more silent moments a guard returned as he could tell from the falls of his metal boots on the stone floor and a pair of daintier foot falls after him. She greeted him and took his arm already knowing he was blind, since he didnt have a blind on or about his neck as most did. She showed him how many steps it too to get to and from Evelyn's room, then showed him where the latren was, and the sleeping quarters. When she left him be finally he felt his way about the room becoming familiar with things and how he had new clothes there, also finding a water pitcher to wash up in, the water there still slightly warm from when it was first set for him. He smiled at the light show of kindness and undressed, careful to put his clothes just so, he got the travel dust off of him and did his best to clean, hell he even washed his feet- not that he could see them. He dressed in the night clothes given to him and layed out the temple garbs that had been given to him as well for tomorrow feeling every seems on it to make sure it was all right side out and the right direction. Crawling into the bed he felt lonely, it was cold and he was very alone. Sitting up he sighed, not feleing content with this, he was exhausted but he just didn't want to sleep yet. ---------- He woke up to some one shaking him awake- His eyes had been open all night since he never used them so he never really bothered closing them when he slept however the girl was going on about thinking he had died. He explained to her in minimal words the he was fine and he slept that way. She sounded frustrated as he huffed and left his little room. He got up and made his bed as he had remembered it being, remembering to tuck part of the blanket just under the pillow. He then changed into the garb, a long shirt, that what he assumed was tucked into his trousers, which he had to wear, and a pair of shoes. He had a problem with them so be put them under his bed and slipped his old shoes back on. he put the gloves he had gotten on and headed out f the room, he had braided his hair last night and he knew his braids held well. He had a hand on the wall when some one stopped him, an older man by the sound of it, he however was calling him a few names he had never heard before because of his long hair. He never had a problem with it- it matched his twin sister's hair besides in color. "Please Im just trying to get back to what I'm supposed to be doing, I don't care what you think." he stated rudly back to the man only to sudden'y have his head yanked back and he heard the sound of metal, and an odd feeling on his scalp- however it wasn't pain, it tingled. The man let go and went about shouting he had taken the pretty boys 'pretty pretty pony tail'. There was some laughing and some people yelling at him to stop hazeing others. He however didn't care- his mind was trying to wrap around what had exactly happened. Reaching a gloved hand up he felt for the long braid he had for ever only it wasn't there and he had to reach all the way up to his ears to feel where the hair was now. His face one of shock he felt colder in a way now- more unlike his twin and that made him unhappy. He listened to the man's voice and his foot falls to make a note of him so if he ever got him alone he was going to get him back- hell he would even find him in his sleep if he ahd his way, but it was too risky being blind. The one who had showed him around last night helped him into the hall and made him wait while she fetched him the lady's breakfast and walked with him carefully to her door, knocking lightly and opening the door for him she told him to take four steps in so she could close the door. He did only he took the nine he knew and found the small table from last night and put the tray down there, he then took Seven more and found the bed post, he however didn't touch her. "Good morning Evelyn. I have your breakfast and I have no idea what I'm supposed to be doing now..." He said to her in an honest tone since he had no idea at all and he hadn't heard from his sister yet, he was slightly worried but she was probably settling in as he was so he would give it a day or two.

The doors and walls of the temple were thick, but even through the locked wooden door; Evelyn could hear the muffled sounds of yelling from outside of her door. She frowned but slid into bed anyways. She wouldn’t concern herself with it for now, she was tired. It had been a long night and she had more work that needed to be done. She remembered then, as she closed the curtains surrounding her four poster bed, that she had a free morning. She smiled softly and closed her eyes. She wanted to go out riding tomorrow before she was called to more meetings. Evelyn fell asleep within minutes of her head hitting the pillow. She dreamed of fire and lightening, waking before dawn in a cold sweat. Her hands trembled as she pulled back the curtain to her bed and sat up, looking towards the window in her room. She stood up, her feet warm and the stone floor cold. It made her shiver but she padded silently across the floor and to the window. Looking out, she could see the town that helped to serve this temple. There were very few fires lit and she turned her gaze towards the heavens to see an expanse of bright pinpricks of light in every direction. The stars were beautiful this time of the night, right before the sun rose and after the creatures of darkness had left the minds of humans. She swallowed and sighed before going back to her bed. It would do no good to keep herself up with thoughts of what must be done. She needed more rest. She fell back asleep, the curtain parted slightly to let the light of a candle enter as though she was afraid of the dark. She woke again at a knock to her door. She blinked sleep from her eyes as she sat up in bed, pulling the curtain closest to the door open. It was light out now and she was glad to have gotten back to sleep. Mhenen greeted her and she blinked at first, something feeling different than last night. She couldn’t put her finger on it until he had gotten closer to her, his honest words causing her to fight with herself over whether or not she liked them or found them disrespectful. She tilted her head to the side forever, noticing that his long pretty silver hair was no longer long. “Good morning, Mhenen.” She said softly and slid out of bed. She walked to the side of him and looked at the back of his head before she said anything else. At first she thought he had cut his hair but the ends were jagged, his soft hair looking messy and his appearance more masculine. Her lips formed a frown so great that her forehead formed little bumps on her otherwise smooth skin. “Did you cut your hair last night, Mhenen?” She questioned her tone nonchalant. She wouldn’t say anything yet, but she had a feeling that her new man servant didn’t do this of his own volition. She moved from his side, listening to his response as she moved to her closet. She didn’t feel like teaching him how to dress her this morning. Since she had a desire to go riding, she would have one of the servant girls orient him to his duties. She was more concerned right now that someone might have done something to the blind witch. She held no love for his kind but Mhenen was her personal servant now. No one had the right to do something cruel to him unless she gave them permission and as of yet, she had not given anyone permission to punish him for anything. That was her responsibility. She watched over her servants and took their abuse seriously. He might have been a witch, but he was under her protection and she would not take disobedience lightly, be it from him or another who mistreated him.

Rin sat back, watching the stable hands trying to tack up his horse. The large destrier stomped and puffed, his head bobbing out the reigns and knocking the light armor pieces off of him. The boys however were stubborn, even though they were obviously wary of the big animal. One tried to toss the saddle blanket on the animal but nearly got his hand taken off when the animal snapped at him. Rin chuckled around the apple bite he hand in his mouth before he pushed off the wall he was leaning on. He walked past the boys who quickly bowed since he was a knight, above them socially because of his Nobel status. He siezed the large animal's muzzle and held the apple infront of its eye. The horse snuffed at him and he gave it the unfinished apple. As the horse munched on it, he went to work tacking the animal. "Master Rin, we apologize for--" he stopped them with a wave of his hand. "It's quite alright Dante is just a big bully." He said and the animal grunted. It was his first horse, the one he received with his knights status. The animal was meant for jousting and combat but the original owner sold him to the temple because of his temperament. He was mean SOB, but Rin had a way with him. Mostly because the animal knew he was not one to play with. He also treated the animal respectfully since he had to use him often in travel. "So Sir Hawthorne are you going to fight enemies?" Run raised a brow at the young blonde child, one that actually looked excited to hear an answer. Rin was curious what this child thought about knight hood, probably the stories he had heard from those that boasted their exploits. He probably thought it all fun and adventure, like he had once. Rin bent, making himself eye level with the child. "I'm going to protect our temple up north. No enemies to fight this time. but my horse needs to be tacked. Sadly I'm out of apples for the fat lout." He reached into his pocket and placed two gold pieces in the boys hand. "Will you go grab some from the store house for me? You can keep the coins." The child nodded excitedly as ran off with the other two, leaving Rin to himself. He gave his horse a frown and patted him harshly on his rear. "You're a ripe old man." He said ever so low as he worked with the harness on hi horses muzzle.

He head her get out of the bed and move about greeting him as well. He stood there a bit awkwardly however he stayed there wondering what she was wanting him to blindly figure out today. When she mentioned his hair his face fell a bit shadowed,"Well lets just say someone was kind enough to offer me a trim. Its not like I could say know with how instant they were." His tone was sarcastic and a bit heated since he was still angry about his braid being lost to an idiot. He heard her shuffling about in another room so he assumed it was her closet or her bathroom, he didn't know nor care really. He wanted to go out some where quiet and try to got a hold of her sister. He missed her and was wanting her guidance in this mess since she always knew what to do when he was a bit lost in the dark.
