Darius hadn't noticed Anemone was so close till she was suddenly leaning against him. The action was not something he thought of her doing. But he had to admit it felt nice. He normally didn't have someone so close, let alone someone he didn't consider just a friend. This felt different, like that soft pressure against him was sign that he had done the right thing. He wouldn't regret his choice to be kind to Anemone. He couldn't when she made her cuteness apparent in the small things she did. Her close proximity afforded him a look at her pretty face tht was lit up by the colorful lights and blooms of sparks above them. She looked beautiful in all honesty, like the light was just a part of her. He forced himself to look back up and he gave a small smile, comfortably letting her watch the fireworks up close and how she wished. it wasn't bothring him any.

The Fireworks display was wonderful, even as the last cannon sounded and the color faded, the moon becoming the only light. Anemone didn't want to move away from Darius now that it was over. People began to make their way back towards the front to leave or take the party else where. She however didn't move from his side, holding his hand still, it felt nice to her. Warm and comforting, protecting, and sweet in a way. She was thinking of what to say now, he probably didn't want to leave either however things had to happen one way or another. Turning to face him, but not let his hand go she smiled at him lightly," I want to thank you for spending this evening with me. I appreciate it." She felt a little sad but she was happy she was closer to him now then she had been at the docks- it was like she had taken a step forward. She wasn't prude per se just soft spoken so she was happy to see him not pushing her away. She wanted to ask him to walk her home, however it was a bit of a long walk and she was sure he was tired like she was, but she also had a sister to look after. As if by a thought she had summoned her Amrena came about the corner calling her name. "Anemone? Where have you gotten off to? OH there you are- come on, its about time to head home." She called but paused at the door seeing she was with a man, the one she had been dancing with earlier that night. Her sister gave her a nod but didn't speak to her as she was looking at this man, her mask not on. Upon closer inspection she noticed she was holding the man's hand, which made her curious who had captured her sister's attention when she never showed interesting in others unless they were too pretty. She knew plenty of pretty men but her sister didn't even bother with them calling them casual, she liked her garden flowers, men or women on exceptional beauty as her sister had told her before. Telling her it hadn't mattered as long as she could see the beautiful flower every chance she got. She understood her sister well but that was a two way street as her sister knew her well, their parents seeing a front for the most part. Anemone nodded to her sister but turned her full attention back to Darius," When can I see you again?" She asked him, not worrying about her sister or what she heard. Her sister would wait patiently for her to be done speaking and knew she wouldn't blab to their mother about her ditching her date. She obviously found someone who captured her attention which was unusual for her, since none usually did.

Anemone's thanks didn't settle the small disappointment that was festering in his mind, telling him he didn't want to leave. Not the party, but her...how often did he meet someone he could actually speak with, someone who was opinionated enough to speak back. Not to mention, she actually like him enough that she'd even move in closer, holding his hand still as if to tell him she wanted to stay. For a moment he wondered what would stop him from telling her not to go, and the answer came in the form of her younger sister that he recognized only by the ivy mask. She was unusually blonde after all, unlike her sister's dark pretty hair. He glanced away from the young girl, surprised that Anemone's attention was still his. He enjoyed it, which showed by the smile that formed when he heard her bold question. He wished he had an answer for her as direct, but sadly he didn't. His life changed daily and he was unsure when time would be free to see her and even how they would see each other. Would her sister day something? He assumed by the way her sister looked curious at fining her with him that she probably wouldn't... "Give me two days." He said, not liking his own time frame but knew he wouldn't have time elsewhere. Besides...it wasn't like he couldn't make it two days without seeing a woman. The same went for her. But how to go about setting up a place to meet and when exactly? He thought for a moment, not even realizing how much he was investing in trying to see her. "I'll send word of a place. If you can, meet me there. We can continue our conversation then." He lifted the hand he still held, giving the top a formal kiss that was allowed in public since it was a gentlemanly action if anything. "Good night, Anemone." He said, reluctantly pulling away and releasing her hand. He went away from her, passing her younger sister. He gave a quick bow, being polite. "And a good nigh to you as well ma'am." He headed off in the direction he knew the ports were in and lo and behold he found Ysold making her way down the road with a sway in her step. He gave a small huff and went forward, catching her before she weaved off the road and tripped. "OH! Darius you scared me, pet." She giggled drunkenly as he steadied her on the pavement. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to." He said but se suddenly put a finer to his lips. "Hush hush. This is not a night for apologies!" She shouted with a cheerful voice and he let out a half chuckle. "Alright miss. I think it's time to head home." He scooped her up, holding her bridal style with her arms wrapped around his neck, more like she was clinging to steady her dizziness than anything sexual or romantic. She was quiet as she nestled into his shirt, though Darius could feel her staring at his face. Eventually he felt uncomfortable an had to ask why she was staring at him so hard. "What? Is there something on my face?" He asked with a slight unease that drew a shake of the had from Ysold. "No." She said, before she let her attention fall to the crowd around them. "You just look happy..that's all."

In response to her bold question, she knew his smile was her reward. She was trying to show him that she wanted to see him again, but it was making her chest feel tight. She was breathing lightly as she was anticipating his answer and was happy when he said two days, also sending word for her to meet him in a place meaning he was serious about seeing her again since he put some thought into things. She nodded and was about to speak but her breath was caught in her throat when he took the hand she had been holding and kissed it lightly before saying good night and leaving. Her face was a few shades of pink and she watched him leave, unable to speak. Amrena watched him leave her sister breathless and speechless, then said good night to her as he passed. She had been studying him, his walk was strong, his posture graceful and polite and the man had a deep voice and a sweet smile. He walked away smiling so it seemed he was happy to be able to see her sister again. She dragged her sister out and back into the house, when their mother asked her what happened she went about making up a story that Anemone drank too much wine. Her mother left it be at that however things were settling in for the night...
------------------ "So what you are proposing is to raise the taxes on the lower classes? What good can that do?" Argued a man who was representing the lower masses. The council had been at this discussion for a few hours now, the sun only having just risen. The man he was against raised a brow at him, then smiled. He was a quiet man but he knew what he was talking about. "I mean to tell you that if we actually tax the lower class we can collect more money, we tax the middle and high classes and we fall short, why not tax everyone and come out on top?" He asked the man, before glancing to the left to his father who was smiling proudly at him. "You argue about equal statuses all the time, why should now be any different?" The boys father commented, making quite a few murmurs in the room erupt as things were being discussed. "I think we should tax them, but not as much as the high class, or the middle." Marron stated to the room since he was a man of influence still in this area, he was allowed to join in the conversations. Deo nodded, understanding he had to stand down from the elder man whom his father was friends with. "I can agree with that. So who seconds?" He asked wanting to get things voted on quickly. It was passed as well as a few rules about money and curfews, they all knew the lower class wasn't going to be happy but they would coop or they could leave after all, slaves were cheaper labor after all. ..

Darius sat back on the steps of the old pier trading post, letting a young girl with a mess of red curls braid his hair. She was humming a loud little tune, her complexion pale as a nobles, even her hands weren't rough as she was not a working child. Her mother kept her pure to a lot, kept her happy and cared for. Darius was more often then not the baby sitter, mostly on the days when he had no other option. Today was one of those days, since Ysold was down with a hang over and Helena need someone to keep her busy. He didn't mind, he was a bit too caught up in thought to really work much during the day. He would take a night shift perhaps with a merchant transporting somethin. And Helena was a good time, a cute little spit fire that kept him hopeful that some good would come out of all the bad around him. She was a bright little girl, Darius often tried teaching her small things like reading and writing which she absorbed like a sponge. She needed a positive male influence in her life, or at least that's what Ysold told him the day she had to trust him with her. He didn't disappoint and Helena had become very attached, to the point he got the feeling of responsibility for her. Then again, he always took up causes and people to care for. He was always trying to fix things, make sure everything was fair and correct with the world. It was a tendency that wore him out, but in one way or another kept him hopeful and sane. "Do you want pink flowers or blue Darius?" The little girl asked him and he gave a tap of his lip. "Well, I'll let you choose."He said, no shame in indulging the child's play time. She didn't get much interaction with kids her age since most were from worse upbringings or were helping their parents during the day. That and it wasn't safe for children to wader and play without someone watching them like a hawk. "Then pink it is." She giggled before weaving a pretty blooming sidewalk flower into his hair. She was quiet a moment, before her little hands stopped working suddenly. "Darius, mummy said you met a girl last night. Was she a pretty girl?" Darius glanced at the young girl, seeing the curious look on the young girl's distinctly greek features unlike her mother's. The question reminded him of Anemone, the young woman who had completely enamored him for the night. She was a good time, a good person and he was actually starting to feel like two days couldn't come soon enough. He still wasn't even positive he would see her then... "Very pretty, Helena. Why do you ask?" Helena seemed to think on that a moment before she shrugged. Darius frowned before he made a quick shift to ease back and look at the young girl looking a bit caught up in thought. "You don't know?" She shrugged again, making Darius slightly impatient. He picked Helena up, putting her in his lap to which she responded with a quick chirp of surprise. "Please tell me, Princess? What would your mommy think if I let the princess look so sad?" He teased, tickling her lightly only making Helena squirm till she dove into his chest. She clung to him as her giggle subsided and she glanced up at him with a crystalline green eye. "I don't want you to leave." She told him and Darius paused. He hadn't considered why she would be worried. "Why would I leave you, Helena?" He asked softly and she looked a bit sad. "You might have a family and a little girl you'll love more--Mummy says men like pretty girls." Darius felt a bit bad for te child and gave a small sigh. He hadn't meant to upset her. Besides, the fact she was thinking that far ahead told him she had overheard something her mother and he had been talking about. Ysold had told him once or twice that he should settle down and he always brushed it off. Besides things were not that serious with Anemone. She was an interest, that was all.... "Helena, you will always have a special place with me. So don't worry. We will always be friends and I promise I'll still be around when you need me." Helena smiled up at Darius before she hopped out of his lap and pulled him to his feet, telling him she wanted to play tag now. ~~~~ Lysandra was on her balcony, sewing something small while she waited on her mother to finish speaking with her uncle in the courtyard below. It seems today the courts hd gone surprisingly interesting, something about taxes or rather....it sent the man all a buzz for a reason she didn't understand. What did he care for the poor? He never leant a hand out to them, never even acknowledged them. Her mother certainly didn't care, hence why should could let her only son starve... Lysandra accidently picked her finger when she thought of Darius, her sadness getting the better of her. He didn't even try to see her last night...he was too wrapped up in Anemone...not that she could blame her friend, but she couldn't help that it made her stomach burn with a slight annoyance. Her brother usually was loyal to her, the least he could do was say hello or save her from her date, something to at least let her know he would keep his promise of seeing her more often...

The conference had adjourned now , the room emptying out as the men had other things to do that day. Three men stayed in the room, father and son, family friend. Marron smiled at the boy whom his friend had raised so well into this position. He was a studious child, quiet, yet he had seen this boy grow up his entire left, helped raised him the first six years of his life until he had his own children. “How long has it been now Grayphor? Eight years?” He said making a mention of how far his friend's son had advanced in such little time. Grayphor scratched his bearded face and thought,”Yeah Eight years sounds about right Marron. The boy is smart, knows what he speaks of, but he lacks sense when it comes to women.” He said, making both men laugh knowing they had once been there before getting married as their family dictated. “Deo, my boy, have you any interest in any of the lovely ladies of this fair city?” Marron asked with a broad smile wondering what kind of girl the quiet boy liked, however hew as a bit disappointed in his answer. “I don't have time for them. They gossip and take up my time.” He said honestly however he did know a few pretty girls who were quiet, thought they belonged to temples so they were pretty much off limits. Grayphor sighed,” He always calls them noisy- tell me Marron do you know of any quiet girls? Pretty ones-you know I want some pretty grand children.” He asked his friend who laughed,”I know many. In fact my eldest daughter, Anemone- she is very quiet, likes to read and spend time in the out doors. You should meet her.” He mentioned making Grayphor raise a brow at the man before a smile crossed his face. The man put on a joking tone as he pulled the mans chain, “ I hope she is prettier then you.” Deo sighed heavily and nodded,” Fine I will meet with her...but only after I can get more read on this scroll.” He said before deviating from the path o the two men as they had been walking down a long hall. Grayphor sighed as his son left them. He was tired of his son's out look on life, He had been trying to set him up with a wife for eight years now and he didn't want any of them, and the women didn't want anything to do with a man with no interesting values- or that was more interested in scrolls then in them. He couldn't blame the women- looks were not everything any more, but it was about time his son had a wife. “He will stall till the last moment. So I will tell him an earlier time to make sure he has time. I'm sure your daughter is beautiful...” He said to his old friend, clapping a hand on his shoulder in a friendly manner. Marron nodded, understanding his friends struggle, however it was only the beginning for him since Anemone had strange tastes. ------------------ He didn't understand why his father couldn't just leave him alone about finding a wife. He was better off with out a frilly little thing to weigh him down and embarrass him in public. He didn't care for children and he didn't care for needy wives bitching at him for things and attention. Deo let out a sigh after he left his father's company, feeling a sense of dread fill him about meeting his father's friends' daughter. She sounded alright but she was probably some wall flower with no beauty or taste for things. He honestly didn't care, he just wanted to be left alone but apparently that was too much to ask for.

Darius worked well through the evening, stopping to see only what the fuss was about with a few men around a fire side. Seems they were discussing a recent call from the courts about taxes or something. Darius liked hearing these talks, since he was very involved in government with his father. He liked to know what was going on and why. It made him feel like the more he knew, the more good could come of it. The more he was able to help that is... "Foreman says merchants will be taxed for labor and so will anyone that isn't over a certain threshold. You have to qualify for a lower tax." One sailor scoffed, a brawny man with a muscular build that was too taught on his thin body. It was obvious he was on some form of drug, or at least that was what Darius could tell by the way he kept scratching the back of his neck reflexively. Another man snickered at the words, tossing a crumple of written notices into the fire. Darius had an interest to read them, but they went up like smoke before he could even get a glance at h lettering. "Fucking silver spoons. Think they can do what they like to pay for their parties and luxury. Won't see any of that tax going to us." A few men grumbled in agreement as they stared into their polluted little fire on the beach. Darius knew he should hold his tongue but his mind didn't always win over his mouth. "We can't be sure of that." A few men looked in his direction, especially the one that had made fun of the rich and powerful. "What is it boy? Really think they give a damn about any of us? We all know our labor is worth less than their shoes." He spat at the ground and Darius gave the man a harsh look. Ignorant no doubt, or a man of troubles that chose to be obstinate against every change. Not everyone that worked within that government was trying to destroy the lower caste. They couldn't do so without destroying their way of life. It was part of the reason slave trade and conquered slave work didn't take off here like it had in other places. Paid labor produced better results, especially with the poor had a level of dissatisfaction...Work them hard and keep them low and you had cheap labor with no escape. The deity banishment and birth rate in poverty were just bonuses... "I think they understand they need us. A tax can do good. More money could mean cleaner streets, more watches on our worse areas...It could help business, help families, but we can't know what is intended till it's enacted." The group got silent but Darius felt glares amongst the mix. It was the few that knew he wasn't from there, not exactly where he was from, just that he didn't belong. The loud man however just glared because he didn't like having his hateful views combated. "Then why don't you just dump your hard earned cash in their laps and see what they do with it. You'll be broke and selling yourself with the whores in no time, while they enjoy another festival we can't afford to set foot near." He knew things were getting testy and he wasn't welcome, so Darius took his leave, going to the brothel where he knew Ysold was up and caring for her daughter, oblivious to this talk of tax and reform that no one really supported unless they were behind closed doors. Even then, it was nothing more than a penny for thought...

Her father had returned that afternoon, the maid calling for dinner a bit later then usual but she was told to dress nicely for a change, which confused her but she did as she had been asked, assuming there was company to be had. Coming into the room with her sister, she kept her face plain as she looked at the people at the table. Two new men, her own mother and father, next was her and her sister it seemed. Looking the boy over as she took a seat, she tried to be no so obvious about it, but he was very plain, he was quiet and looked like he didn't want to be there. The dinner progressed easily with out introductions until afterwards her father and another man had been talking about things, until Marron stood up and smiled at her. "Anemone, I want to introduce you to your new fiancee. Deo Carras." He said sounding prideful about it. The fathers had been talking pros and cons but mostly about finally marrying the children together. The boys father looked happy about this as well, patting his won son on the shoulder, but he didn't seemed that enthusiastic about this like her. He did however finally look up at her and he looked a bit surprised to see her actually, finding her pretty. He smiled lightly, stepping about the table and taking her hand lightly, giving it a kiss. "Pleasure meeting you Anemone. I'm Deo." He said easily with a scholarly sound to him. She felt odd, her chest was tight but it wasn't the same as when Darius had kissed her hand. Then it had been tight but there was excitement, happiness, and a longing for him to do more- a secret one that was. With this boy Deo- there was dread, and a bit of disdain. She didn't want this boy to do such things, she personally wanted to just forget about him and this mess and wander off to find Darius. However she put on a smile and bowed lightly to Deo and smiled."Pleasure is mine." She said quietly and in very few words as she simply didn't want to speak now. Her middle was feeling sick now with the idea that she was going to be forced to marry this guy- she didn't know him at all but he wasn't attractive in the slightest to her. --- A later meeting was promised to let the 'kids' get to know each other better, but she had slipped off to her garden to sulk. She honestly didn't want to be in this situation at all. She had finally found a person who was fun to speak with, beautiful- simple for that man to capture her attention completely which was a feat in itself. She went to her tea and pulled a pretty yellow string from it, the one she had described Darius as, she liked the tree even better now knowing it was one thing the vine she was named after couldn'tchoke out of existence...

"You should invite her some place nice. Some place with a view." Ysold said as she leaned over Darius's shoulder to see what he was writing. It seemed he couldn't make his mind up about something. He looked at Ysold and she gave him a tongue in cheek look, since he seemed surprised that she knew he was writing something to a woman. He sighed and pushed the paper away. "How do you--?" He asked but Ysold simply put a finger to his lips. "I have known you for a few years now and never have I seen you at a loss for words." Darius gave Ysold a half smile. She knew him all too well, too bad it wasn't words he was worried about. He could talk to Anemone just fine, it was trying to find a way to not look like a miserable poor boy that was hard. He couldn't take her to places the rich would frequent, just the places the classes could mingle or where the lower class was frequented. It could be fun, but would she have fun? "I'm just lost on where to take her. I have no problems with women. Things just got a lot more complicated the minute I lost money." Ysold made a face, eyes rolling at his comment. "Oh yes. It was easy for your kind to get paired up with pretty girls. Mommy did it for you, while daddy scheduled play dates." She snickred and Darius gave her a bit of an annoyed look. He wasn't totally helpless when it came to dealing with women, but it was more complicated when that woman had a different stature than you. He couldn't do much in the way of impressing Anemone... "It wasn't that way in my household. We valued personal stature over marriage stature." Ysold knew by the look on his face that he was thinking back on bad things, so she instead decided to get back to the topic on hand. "Tell her to meet you by the gem vendors stall. Then take the girl out for some real fun. She can do the boring, rich snot stuff any day. I'm sure she'll be thankful for something different." He smiled at Ysold, nudging her slightly with his elbow so he could have room to write. She giggled and scribbled down the location, giving a round about time for her to meet him if she could." When he folded the paper, Ysold took it and walked to the door, passing the note off to a friend of hers that could get it to Anemone. Darius wasn't as worried about that as he was the idea that she wouldn't be able to see him in the first place after all..

Anemone was hiding in her garden, a recluse as she had been since the day before after hearing she was going to be marrying a man of the government. It was an honer since he was from a good family, would make her father happy, and please her mother, also setting a good example for her younger sister...However she felt a sick feeling in her middle when she thought about being forced with them man. He held no interest to her at all, he was a candle in the wind- nothing to her. Daruis, he was a bon fire on the beach spanning over the great ocean, the night sky full of stars, drinks and parties- that was what he did to her mind. She imaged anything, always beautiful- including him, such as the festival. His simple words, his protective nature was what drew her to him, his beauty and his humor made her fall hard, her heart feeling a bit fluttery as she simply thought about him. She didn't look up when the maid brought her a letter from a messenger apparently. She sighed heavily dreading to find out from whim it was from. Opening the letter she was actually elated to find it was from Darius. She hadn't expected him to actually send her word, he seemed reluctant some how. He wanted to meet by the gem stand, it was for tomorrow about mid morning. She couldn't help her excitement. She went inside and went to tell her sister who was happy to hear that, she was supporting her side fling since she wasn't happy with her future if Anemone was forced to marry a man she would be forced as well.

Darius had removed himself from work the next day, being sure to avoid most people who knew his face since he didn't want to be dragged into something else he would feel obligated to do. Ysold mothered and badgered him about shaping up and cleaning up nicely for his "date", which he quickly shot her down with the affirmation it was just a "secret friendly meeting". It was funny even in his own mind, though he didn't get much time to really think about it what with Ysold throwing cold water on him and shooing him off to clean. In decent timing he actually looked decent as he had the nigh of the festival, better shaved and better smelling despite the salt water smell that just seemed to cling to someone after a while. He opted to wear something simple, not his work regalia of course. He was just taking Anemone out to enjoy a little bit more of what the city had to offer, since that would give him the ability to spend time with her. She would be his for the day perhaps, or at least he hoped after having to cut their last meeting short... He was unsure of what to think of that night, mostly because he was unsure if he should even be allowed to think anything of it. Anemone was a good girl, mature almost beyond her age... She was proud but not boastful, something he liked, and also she had an odd quality about her that interested him. She would be fun to get to know better and he could see himself spending time with a girl like that. He could also very well imagine what he wouldn't mind it progressing to, especially since she was a beautiful woman with a hidden sensuality. But that wasn't for him to think about...pretty or not, he wasn't supposed to let himself have feelings beyond acquaintances with anyone of a different stature. Otherwise it could be the death of him or her social career... Darius pushed the thoughts away, running a hand through his hair as he moved around the morning crowds out shopping for their homes. He knew he could control himself around her and wouldn't do anything to jeopardize their stability in life. He came to a stop at the gem vendor, his attention being caught by the shining trinkets and things. The vendor blew him off, watching him with a harsh look as if Darius might try to steal something. Darius gave the eclectic jewelry a smirk, ignoring the fat man's glare when Darius focused on a pretty red butterfly shaped gem that would be a good gift for his sister. He looked away from it, since the thing was too expensive for him.

She had gotten up early in her excitement to get ready. She took a bath in scented water, as well as had her sister braid flowers into her hair as today was going to be hot so she wanted her hair out of her face more or less. She dressed casual, more as she would if she were going to stay home, not wanting to wear finery out to the markets else she was a target for a pick pocket. looking at herself in a reflective surface she smiled, she look pretty even in casual clothes but that was her goal, she wanted to be pretty for Darius. She headed out on foot, her flats actually good for running, she walked through the market space until she got to the gem stall, however it seemed Darius was there a little early, like she was herself. She put her hands behind her back and went towards the stall. She wanted to see if he noticed her, thought she doubted he hadn't, a silly smile on her lips. She looked at the jewelry as the man gave her skeptical look. He wasn't sure what to make of her since she looked to be about middle class. She looked at a pretty flower clip that had pretty gems in it, deep blue however she wanted something lighter. "Does this come in a lighter color blue?" She asked smoothly to the man but she shook his head. "I only sell real gems, things of this depth and quality are always deep blue." The man told her in a proud tone that he was a 'genuine' seller. She frowned a bit before she sighed, she didn't need a pretty hair piece when she had Darius there. "Hello, I hope you haven't been waiting long. I got distracted by the flower piece there. Sorry." She said since he had come all the way out there to see her and she was getting distracted. As usual she was a bit meek with her smile but she knew he would simply talk and her day would be instantly better.

Darius leaned against the counter, folding his arms as he looked at the crowd around him. It was not too busy but still there was enough life to make it hard to spot Anemone if she was wading her way through the crowd. He was mostly just looking for someone that looked out of the norm, finely dressed and most likely in blue. She seemed to have a love of the color. She would probably carry herself well, look poised even in a crowd. He could see her shy smile already in his mind, one that would light up her already pretty features to make them look stunning. As if mere thought of her brought her into existence, Anemone appeared from the crowd. She was not in all blue and not in finery, but in simple dress that placed her as a part of the middle class. Her dark hair caught the breeze lightly, giving it an almost etheral float as she came towards him with a playful smile. He was reminded of the night before, the way she looked dancing, the way the light of the fireworks. It was a hard image to shake, especially when her attention left him for some trinket she found. He watched the way the man behind the counter looked at her and his eyes narrowed slightly. He however didn't have time to let his annoyance get the better of him and already Anemone was asking the man about a pretty flower pendant. The man's answer made Darius's eyes roll before his look sobered to a smile when she greeted him. He would remember that she liked those sorts of things perhaps for a later idea. When she apologized he gave a shrug. "It's alright. I'm glad you could make it." He said before he looked at the stand appraisingly for a moment. "That's pretty but I can take you somewhere they sells better painted glass." He meant it as a jab to the vendor but still being kind to her. "I hope it wasn't too much trouble coming here. I felt that this was half way for us both...early enough that it wouldn't be too crowded. But you probably guessed that by now." He said, realizing he was talking a bit too much and ran a hand through his hair out of comfort around her. He really did feel like he could trust her, that today would be great even if his ideas of fun were a flop. He just was happy to be spending time with her.

When he spoke about it being trouble for her to get there she shook her head. Her family left her be probably thinking her to be brooding in her garden over her new future plans. She pushed her thoughts of the to the back of her mind and ignored them since she had Daruis there to entertain her now. "I would have met you at the docks if you asked, but not the the fish market- I can't handle that smell." She said being honest but her rambling got the better of her, making her blush since she almost sounded too earnest to see him. She did glance about to see things weren't too crowded but just enough for them to blend in smoothly with, she was happy with that. She hook her arm in his comfortably and smiled at him, it was a closed lipped smile since she was slightly embarrassed still over her words about meeting him any where. "What shall we do? We can walk by the water perhaps? See things in town? OH! Can we please go to the temple gardens some time today? They are so beautiful..." She said getting ahead of her self hoping he hadn't put an entire day into planning, else she would feel kinda bad.

Darius smiled at her admitting she would have met him regardless of where, as long as it wasn't a fish market though. He didn't blame her. The smell of fish was hard to wash away and even worse to remove from clothing. As she linked arms with him, he moved to where he could walk with her. Her smile was pretty and it gave him hope that this day would go well. Already she admitted that she wanted to see him today earlier at the party and now here they were just casually talking about what to do for their day together. Her ideas were interesting and made sense for her. The temple gardens were a good idea and he wouldn't mind seeing them if they made her that happy. He had been fishing for ideas to see what exactly she would like to do. He was glad she wasn't afraid to open up and tell him exactly what she wanted. "Let's go to these gardens. If you want to see the ocean later, there is a great spot by the beach. We have time to do whatever we can think of. The day is ours." He said motioning to the crowd as if it was all her's if she wanted it. He couldn't help the part of him that wanted to make her happy after all she told him nights ago. Her life was one of giving in to what her family wanted, being stifled for the sake of an image that shouldn't have been her's to uphold. He knew this life wasn't fair, that things were never going to be perfect and people would suffer, but a good girl like her deserved some happiness. If he could make that happen, he would try his best to make sure today was a perfect day. As he moved around a group of merchants negotiating, he looked at the pretty woman walking arm in arm with him with a half smile. "So, how have you been?" He asked, figuring that was a good place to start since she seemed to be energetic today.
