"I suppose it's to be expected. You royal types aren't used to hard work and travel, yeah?" Darcy said and extended his hand in offering to her. "Besides, I'm used to worse with my brother." He said with a smirk on his face. He was teasing her that was for sure but she took his hand all the same, she was struggling as it was. "I could carry you again if you prefer?" Lisaral looked up at him as he offered to carry her... she wanted to flatly decline but it was a rather nice offer. her body was screaming her feet felt ready to bleed. she was undoubtedly done. she looked down and a way ashamed for even thinking of taking the offer. she was not just anyone after all. she had to walk forward with her head held high and with dignity. she could not be coddled. " thank you Darcy... but as Princess of Mes-. " she stopped her words and shook her head. keeping her eye's averted she took a deep breath, " um i shouldn't make you carry me as well as go forth on this quest. " she said pulling her hand away from his and taking a few shaky steps forward.

Dimitri looked curious to hear that she was looking for work. But as a mercenary was a bit strange. He knew the Fey were powerful and that Mez definitely looked like she could tear him apart. But she was nice to him so far...she even protected him with no incentive to do so. It gave him a good opinion of her. At least it kept him from feeling even scared of her. So when she asked if he was frightened of her, he shook his head though it was partially giving him a chance to word his answer. "N-No, you don't. You haven't given me reason to..." He said then gave her a smile that was almost apologetic. "Though I would like to offer you something. Money...something to thank you for helping. I wouldn't want to keep you on a fools errand like this, especially since I got myself into this with my own ineptness..." He said, not translating the last bit because he was sure she didn't want to hear his issues. He was looking at his hands, knowing that though he could cast spells, none of the magic was functional. He was a terrible mage and an embarrassment to the Averin. It was why he left home to strike out on his own, to better himself. Instead he only ended screwing up quite a bit. ~~~ Darcy raised a brow at her response, hell that she actually walked with her head held high. She was dignified for a little girl that lacked in certain areas. She at least wasn't out to be coddled. That he did appreciate, especially since he had been raised on the principle that you made yourself who you wanted to be. You couldn't rely on others to support you, not your family name, titles, or money. He would have never been half the mage he was if he hadn't fought for what he did have. He earned it, hence why he was proud of it and of himself. If anything, Lisarial earned respect from him, even a bit of sympathy for her plight that he would never readily admit. What was a bit of his time to help her take out a demon? He had fought worse things before...Besides, he was the famed Averin prodigy. What kind of mage would he be if he didn't help a lady in need? Let alone one that knew his family supposedly. "Well Princess, I've been thinking..." He said to her comment about making him go forth on this quest. He didn't like the sound of being made do anything. "I've decided to help you with your pesky demon problem. It will only bolster my title, maybe even a song or two will be written in my honor, perhaps even an invitation to court from a king of a nearby kingdom. And you will be able to do, whatever it is you had in mind I suppose, Princess." He said waving back at her as if what she did didn't concern him. However he was curious about what exactly this Lisarial wanted and why she was so adamant about going after some dusty demon anyways. "Look calling you Princess isn't going to cut it. Someone will likely rob a little thing like you over it. How about...Ari? Yes. That will do. Short and doesn't sound foreign enough to draw suspicion. People don't like the Fey around here." He said, just being honest with her and besides, the little nickname had a good ring to it for her.

At the mention of money from Dimitri she shook her head and waved a hand off at the offer. "Having some one to speak my language with is reason enough." She said easily to him hoping he understood that one got lonely in a new place easily. "Why are they chasing you off? Did you kill some one?" She asked as if he sole something rather then killing. She didn't care what he did honestly but if he was going to try to learn her story as she might as well ask him about his own. She doubted he knew another fey who could get her back to her own people so she figured not to ask.

"Well Princess, I've been thinking..." Darcy started to say to her comment about making him go forth on this quest. "I've decided to help you with your pesky demon problem. It will only bolster my title, maybe even a song or two will be written in my honor, perhaps even an invitation to court from a king of a nearby kingdom. And you will be able to do, whatever it is you had in mind I suppose, Princess."
turning around she could see him waving her off as if she was no concern to him. than again would would expect her to be after the big guns after all. she smiled weakly back at him as she shifted from one foot to the other as he seemed to want to say more. she didn't mind as much it was easier than silence. than again she wanted to be done walking. she had been on the move non stop for two days now. not once had she stopped other than to put Darcy up for the night since she was set free. " Look calling you Princess isn't going to cut it. Someone will likely rob a little thing like you over it. How about...Ari? Yes. That will do. Short and doesn't sound foreign enough to draw suspicion. People don't like the Fey around here."As Darcy said this her face grew slack and her vision far away.
(( " Ari... ARI! what will i ever do with you ?" Delorian grumbled despite the grin on his face, " are you not to be learning than to be day dreaming?" he said with a chuckle soothing her hair down.)) Lisarial blinked managing to no drop a single tear as the memory was ripped from her mind. she blinked and looked up at Darcy her heart aching as she did her best to smile, " that... we would like that " she said simply. she was afraid to say any more. than turning on her heals she tried to walk faster along the road. the sooner they got there the sooner she could finally get some rest.

Dimitri was surprised all she wanted was someone to talk to. That kind of payment seemed so simple and cheap, especially because he was hardly fluent or good conversation. He would have to repay her some other way, maybe...just maybe he could find a way to help her? He gave an awkward little frown when Mez asked him why he was run out of town, though the comment about killing someone made his eyes widen. That he had never done and didn't intend to start. "Oh no no, I've never killed anyone. I've come close with a misfired spell or two though..." He said before looking to the trees beyond them, trying to use his hands to sum up what he was trying to say. "Actually I am a terrible mage. Not like terrible as in evil, but terrible as in bad. I am not exactly good at my job and in a kingdom that doesn't exactly like mages you run into a lot of people that aren't satisfied with getting pay back in coin." He told her, wondering how she would take the news that he was a terrible mage and that he was basically run off because he couldn't do his job properly. It wasn't exactly an easy thing to admit or a fun one. Especially not to an fey mercenary that stuck her neck out for him..."I promise I won't harm you though. I have a handle on some practical spells and I don't tend to use what I can't control." He said to reassure her that he wouldn't freeze her or suck her up into a vortex or something. ~~~~ Darcy heard her quiet little reply and looked back at her. He couldn't really see her face from where he was, but he sensed something was off. He couldn't put his finger on what exactly was bothering her, but it didn't seem like she hated the name...He moved along with her, letting her march her way up faster with him. He hung back a little, slowing his pace some to help her some. He wouldn't say he was going soft on her, just didn't want to have to deal with using a stitching spell when she blistered her feet up badly from the walking. "So, you know magic? You talked about my grandfather not teaching you astral fire." He said, more or less a curiosity of his to know just what skills this brat had. She couldn't be completely useless, else they would never get to where they were going. He didn't mind teaching her a thing or two if she did possess a magical ability. Anything to keep her alive if they ran into people again that were hell bent on harming them. "The old man didn't teach my brother and I much. He saw I had a knack for fire though and had my father make this staff from his. My brother got the other half made into a staff, something to do with his ice ability." He knew his grandfather always got a kick out of the twins, since two children out of a magical relationship was very rare. Children were an odd commodity already and for one reason or another magical children were even harder to conceive. It was why most mages stopped trying at one child since the hopes of two or more wasn't really worth it. You only needed one to carry on the bloodline after all. That was why his father was an only child and his mother was as well, making it difficult for them to both raise two children. He noticed his father gravitated towards caring for him, while his mother coddled the hell out of Dimitri. Perhaps it was the clash of personality or the way the two resembled each other only physically. Regardless their grandfather seemed to be the only person that would treat them as brothers and seemed to care for them the same. It was perhaps what saved that bond at an early age, even after the old man passed away.

His reaction to her comment, his eyes getting wide, it made her smirk, he couldn't kill some one, he was too soft shelled. At his mess of words she nodded to him almost waving off his worry for her well being. "I fear no magic, I am of the Fey, we have magic of our own- not the same but we have our own." She said in a soft humored tone since she was sure if he needed help she could help. "You would be a good Fey speaker if you learned more words- You learn to speak so we might talk and I will keep your skin on your being. Sound like a deal?" She asked him more in humor then anything since it seemed this was an odd grouping already.

"So, you know magic? You talked about my grandfather not teaching you astral fire." asked her along the way. she pondered how to answer him before speaking. keeping pace with him they were now walking side by side at a reasonable pace. " ah yes. " she said happy to have a change of topic so to speak. " i do know a bit of umbral ice spells for defense." she started thinking of how to say the rest with out it sounding like boasting. she was always told not to boast or be overly prideful. " i also know healing spells as well as tonics and such for poison be it from a snake or wine" she said trying just a little to be funny. she new trying to be funny did not always work but she did like to try to make others smile form time to time. " in fact the only reason my slippers aren't a bloody mess is because i had to keep stopping to heal my feet... i never knew walking was so dangerous." she said with a real look of concern on her face. " if you need me to i can heal your feet too... no to be overly big about it but i am good at healing. " she said looking up at him.

Dimitri wasn't sure why she laughed at him, but he accepted her comment about not fearing magic. He was happy to hear it, especially since she was bound to see some pretty crazy things from his magic if she stuck around. He wondered just what his next move would be. He knew they had to at least make it to the next town. There he could find maybe another path to take, something that didn't involve staying in one place perhaps. Her comment about him becoming better at Fey made him smile, especially since he prided the fact that his spells may have been trouble but he was a scholar at heart. "It's a deal, Mez." He said, before looking up at the sky. The sky was shifting from its pretty blue to a purple, showing that soon nightfall would be upon them. He wasn't used to traveling in the dark and had heard it was dangerous. "It will be dark soon...do you think we should continue or stop?" He asked since he was hardly a seasoned traveler. ~~~ Darcy actually gave Lisarial a humored look at her comment about the wine tonics, mostly because he knew it was at his expense and wouldn't deny it. He had a nasty hangover that morning and her little tonic had helped him. "Good, those will come in handy." He said, since he fully intended to continue his drinking habits. Her innocence and demur at speaking of her abilities in healing was a bit odd to him. He was used to being around noblemen, warriors and women that were used to boasting. "Healing is a nobel art. They are difficult spells to master actually. You should be proud of it." He said, not as much of a compliment as it was a statement. He felt that people should be proud of their abiities and show what they made of themselves. There was no harm in being upfront and honest with yourself and others. The last thing you wanted was for someone to perceive you as week or needy. At her comment about healing his feet, he gave her a funny look that was almost humored. "I travel a lot, Ari. You don't need to concern yourself with my health. Just yours." He said, the phrase making him feel odd a moment. He was used to traveling with fellow warriors or people who had egos bigger than their heads. Many of them did not worry for one another or their comrades, not even sparing them time for healing. There was respect and partnership in those sorts of travel parties. If you couldn't hold up on your own, you were left behind or died. He learned very quickly that he could care for himself and that there was little anyone else could do for him that he couldn't do himself. "Now, if I know my brother he will head to the next town over. That's more than a days journey from here, so we will have to rest before dark if we haven't stumbled upon him and his captor yet. He is very predictable." He said, knowing his brother like the back of his hand honestly. It was hard not to when you were raised together with people mistaking you constantly for the other.

When he asked about stopping she rose a brow at him. "If you like we can. I can assure you I am the scariest thing here in the woods this evening. The wildlife will not attack another of my nature- they will obey me and seek friendship." She told him a little waywardly finding words he might understand. "We fey control nature- can shape it to our will- it won't be hostile unless we are hostile." she explained a bit more to him since he was new at Fey magic it seemed. "We can stop for not, off the trails- over there- its a small clearing with a place for a fire, should it do for your comfort?" She asked him since he was a little sheltered looking from nature. She allowed the deer to take her to the requested place and she dismounted letting Dimitri follow after her.

"Good, those will come in handy." Darcy said with a light look on his face. the mood between them was much more relaxed compared to when they first meet. this made Lisaraial much more at ease.
"I travel a lot, Ari. You don't need to concern yourself with my health. Just yours. Now, if I know my brother he will head to the next town over. That's more than a days journey from here, so we will have to rest before dark if we haven't stumbled upon him and his captor yet. He is very predictable."
Lisaral's heart fell at the thought of the journey taking so long.... so she decided to respond to him rather than dwell on those negative thoughts. " ah true it is noble, but the noble are not the ones to do it." she said raising her brows for emphases. " mother never really liked the idea of me learning magic of any kind... but it was a means to get what she wanted from me. " she said looking ashamed. " i was never a really good princess. " she admitted suddenly even surprising her self for a moment.
she sighed and smiled " and ill worry about your health if i want... you are my companion are you not? as your princess it is my duty to think of the well being of my subjects... even if its just one temporary one." she shrugs feeling silly. but not much could be done in the situation. " so.... what do we do now... will this be my second night ever spent in the woods? " she asked innocently. if it was she would need a tonic for yet another night of alertness. she honestly couldn't decide if sleeping helpless or sleeping at all was the grater of two evils... she had an over whelming fear if she did sleep she would have woken up all of this being a dream and she yet again locked away.

Dimitri was fascinated by her talks of fey magic. He even leaned a little on his horse to get a better listen on what she said. Of course though she had to stop talking when she found a place to stop for the night. He was a bit relieved for it since he had only ridden a horse a very long while ago and already his back was angry with him. He slipped off the horse and gave Mez a curious little look. "Um yes this is suitable. I--uh--even purchased a few things from the hunting shop to eat. I figured the next town over would be a distance to travel..." He said in Fey before a sound in the brush not far off made him jump. A squirrel skittered its way out of the bush and up a tree, making Dimitri straighten and try to play off his surprise. "Well, its nice to hear that the fey have such power. Honestly my books say very little about Fey magic...its not often spoken of. I'm glad you shared it with me." He said before he grabbed his language book from the saddle bag and went over to a nearby log and began scribbling away a few bullet points on what she had said so he wouldn't forget. ~~~ Darcy gave Lisarial a backwards glance at her response to his comment about the healing magic, even adding in a bit about her mother. Honestly, he understood that very well. His mother was constantly on his case over not being the studious type, often forcing him into lectures and tutors that would make him study the way his brother could. He hated books with a burning passion because of it. Besides he was more of a hands on learner. He blinked when she said she wasn't a very good princess and he wondered what that meant to her. What? Was she running around with a servant or climbing on the tapestries? Did she offend nobles or cause wars in her honor? Honestly, unless it was a grandiose story of how she royally screwed up, he wasn't buying that she was bad at her position. She sure had the look of a pampered royal. The long flowing hair, the pretty, soft features and the dignified way about her. Even if she had a tendency to annoy the hell out of him, he couldn't deny that he found her pretty or at least damsel-ish. He of course would never say that to her, but it was a thought that he let rest in the back of his mind. When she commented about his health, he turned giving her a sarcastic smile at calling him her 'subject' that she would worry over if she wanted. It was an odd sentiment to him, so he played it off with humor and sarcasm. "I should be honored to grace her majesty's thoughts." He said with a teasing bow, before he righted himself and continued to walk along. When they reached a decent clearing beside an old oak, he sighed, rolling his shoulders which caused his back to pop. He stopped, looking around himself before nodding. "Alright, yes. We'll stop here. It isn't an inn but its livable. We could do worse. Believe me." He said, remembering the stint he did with an old friend when the idiot went after a dragon bothering the southern hills. They stayed in a cave one night and Darcy remembered how uncomfortably cold, wet and disgusting it was. He vowed never to stay in one again. He stuck the blade of his staff in the ground and walked not too far off to begin with getting firewood and maybe something to eat. He didn't stop to deal with Lisarial since there was little he could do for her in this situation beyond say something snarky. He just didn't want to get in an argument this late in the day.

She listened to him talk about how little was known on her people and understood why. They were a bit more closed off to this realm then they were- however in that to their own land there were fully connected. She let him write in his book as she simply walked out of the clearing- the deer having already left. In a few moments she ahd collected a bag full of berries there were ripe and sweet, bringing them back into the clearing however she glanced over the area and noticed a pair of eyes watching them, little red glowing eyes- under a bush. She put the berries down by Dimitri and motioned for him to eat- that was before she took a handful and took it over tot he bush, stepping into it and offering the berries to what she knew was a bear. She hadn't wanted to panic Dimitri- but she had asked the bear to bring her something to cook- something with meat and it had- two hares. She traded the berries for the rabbits, letting it slip back off into the woods before returning with the rabbits with a smile. "Do you want me to prepare them or should I begin?" She asked him with a smile wondering if he even knew how.

"I should be honored to grace her majesty's thoughts." He said with a teasing bow. Lisarial knew he was mocking her but in the least he did not deny her the right to worry even a little. she continued on till they reached a decent clearing beside an old oak were Darcy rolled his shoulders which caused his back to pop. she new she was hurting but was Darcy as well? she felt too guilty to speak up and ask him if there was anything she could do.
"Alright, yes. We'll stop here. It isn't an inn but its livable. We could do worse. Believe me." Darcy stated as he stuck the blade of his staff in the ground and walked not too far off to begin with gathering wood. she paused not really knowing what to do in this situation. looking away she knew she stuck out like a sore thumb in the clearing. she looked around and found a rock near what looked to be an old camp fire pit and took a seat.
she needed to heal her feet soon she could feel the blisters growing. easing her first leg up she gently took off her slipper. her feet were red in places and looked as bad as they felt. she sighed and whispered a short version of a simple spell letting the soothing feeling soak into her foot before doing the same for the other, and replacing her shoe's to there rightful place.
" Darcy... is there anything i can do to help?" she asked feeling silly with her hands empty now that she was out of anything to do.

Dimitri was fast at work scribbling something down, an almost frigid aura around him as he got in his zone. He liked cool environments when he studied and his body tended to acclimate to that when he was focused. He jumped a little when Mezedonne woke him from his mode and offered him berries that looked rather delicious. "Ah, thanks." He said with a sheepish smile before popping a few in his mouth. He smiled at how sweet they were, the freshness of the juices reminding him of being home in the glade where his family stayed. He watched her as she approached the bush, her hand skimming it to reveal something Dimitri hadn't expected to see. His mouth fell open at sight of a bear, especially when Mez was just casually taking rabbits from it like it was a pet dog. She returned to him shortly after and asked him something in Fey that he missed in his surprise. He blinked and tried looking from her face to the rabbits. "A bear... Fey magic is extraordinary..." He said before gulping at the sign of the rabbits. "W-Well I've never had to prepare a rabbit before. I always avoid harming things when I can...I wouldn't mind helping if you need it though. I suppose if I am to travel again I must learn?" He said, but it was mostly a pep talk to himself about handling the blood, guts and gore of the sweet little bunnies. ~~~ Darcy picked up what he could from downed limbs and branches, since he didn't want to mess with harming the trees anymore than he had to. His mother taught them a healthy respect for nature, especially since she worked so closely with Fey culture and their study. When he gathered an arm full, he moved back to the clearing in time to catch Lisarial doing a healing spell on her foot. Honestly, did all women have such delicate feet? Let alone ones that were as pale as her skin was? He pushed the thought away for something more productive, like the bit of guilt he felt for pushing her today when he knew she couldn't handle it. Darcy wanted to rely on her however, since it was necessary for surviving this. She needed to learn to be tougher...or at least more durable. Travel didn't do well with delicate and he didn't feel it was fair to not give her a chance to toughen up and get stronger, or at least enough so that he didn't have to worry over her so much when he had to protect her. He looked down and away when she spoke out, busying himself with setting the pile of branches down near what looked to be an old fire pit. Good, they had found a safe camping ground, most likely from hunters that used the lodge back in town. That was always a good sign...He hummed when she asked what she could do, chewing the inside of his cheek in though. Better for her to start learning the basics now, he guessed. "Yes. There is something you can do, Ari." He reached for his belt, producing a small book from a pouch that held other odds and ends in it. He flipped through a few pages before stopping on one that looked to be from an earlier set of pages. He moved beside her, not caring that the proximity was maybe a bit more familiar than she was used to. He wanted to make sure she understood him after all. "See this berry?" He said, pointing to a sketch in his notes that was detailed and even colored with care, "It's native to the brush around here. Also," He thumbed through the pages to a root that was a good 20 pages away. "See this plant. The whole thing is edible, including the flower. I want you to find them so we have something to at least tide us over for the night. Now a word of caution. The flowers have to be purple and not red.The red plant is barbed with a venom that burns like hell to mess with. As for the berries, Make sure they are dark blue. Any other color is dangerous. The last thing I want is to deal with you being sick. Got it? Keep the notes with you incase you forget what you are looking for. In the mean, time I'll get the fire started and search around a bit for water." He said, his tone simple and commanding, not exactly meant in a rude manner but it came across that way. Darcy was just blunt when dealing with someone he had no reason to impress, let alone someone who's opinion of him wasn't exactly bothering him. He was used to others listening to him and taking his orders, why should she be any different?

Mezedonne noticed his slight aversion to the idea of cleaning the rabbits making her roe a brow at him. He didn't know how already? strange human. She thought to her self as she nodded to him but didn't let him handle the rabbits instead she made him watch, then put them on two sticks- already having made him make a fire. Once they were on the fire she rolled up the leaves she had cleaned the rabbits on and threw them further into the woods to avoid the smell in the morning and smiled to herself before glancing back over at Dimitri. "It will take time for you to learn." She said simply since it would. One things at a time honestly, but she was confident his Fey would improve by conversations and practice while traveling skills would come in time.
