When Maria's hushed tone came over the comms static, Nathan tensed. He understood her order and quickly looked to the men with him. "Back to the truck. Location change. This one is crawling with extra support tonight." He said, figuring it had something to do with that truck. While he wanted to investigate, to stick around and see what was going on, he knew it was only a matter of time before they were caught. He followed the men back out to the van, quelling questions from Nina by simply saying they had a new directive. The raid took a good half of the night, spanning into the early morning hours. That left little else for Nathan to do than head back to his apartment. He was excited to see his bed honestly, since he was sure that it missed him as much as he missed it. Nina was back at her place that night and that meant he would have the place to himself again. When he reached the elevator, he pressed his floor and expected to get there easily. However as the doors were closing, he heard someone call out to hold the door, causing him to quick jolt forward and stick his hand in the door. His neighbor, the girl who had been getting a little too close lately, ducked in with a breathy look. "Thanks, Nathan. I almost thought I'd have to wait for this slow ass thing." She said as she quickly took to the back wall of the elevator next to him. He looked at her, a bit confused why she was up and running around that late, making the girl turn a bit pink with a smirk on her features. "What Nate? See something you like?" She giggled, making it sound teasing but there was an offer there that he didn't pick up on. "Nothing...it's just kinda early is all. Sorry Amelia." Amelia's face fell some and she suddenly gave a sheepish look at the ground. "Y-Yeah I know. But I kinda just got back from my ex's...we just broke up and..." He frowned when he saw something like tears in her eyes, her eyes averting his. He felt briefly horrible for bringing it up since who was he t judge. He was out early after all... "S-Sorry I--" Nathan muttered, feeling extremely awkward. He wasn't much for emotional situations, since his quieter nature really didn't leave much room for him to get all emotional himself. Only Maria and his friends drew much of anything out of him... "It's all good. He was an asshole. Thanks though if you were worried..." He blinked when she suddenly touched his arm, batting her eyes with a humored look. "What about you tough guy? You're up late too." He gave her an awkward half smile, pulling his arm away some to put space between them. He didn't like people casually getting that close to him, especially when he didn't know them like that. "Work. Late night working in army surplus." He said, playing the lie he had been telling most who questioned his weird work hours, including his last girlfriend. She of course didn't believe him and broke up very quickly with him. He didn't blame her really since it never really felt quite right with her... "Dang that stinks...But can you get time off to come to that party this weekend? You can invite a friend of course if you feel like it would help. Anyone that is friends with you has to be a nice person." She said, making Nathan give a small nod. "I can try--" Thankfully the elevator door opened and he quickly stepped out, making Amelia wave goodnight to him and ride up to her floor. When he got to his apartment it wasn't long before he was out like a light... ~~~ Victoria worked well into the night, only stopping when he alcohol 'ran out' according to her personal maid and her hand was cramping. She had made a very large dent in her paperwork before she was allowed to crawl into her bed. Sleep evaded her however, so she took to watching from a monitor the brain washing process that her guard had given her. The prisoners that had been taking to the unknown base location seemed to be submitting quite well. She had heard about the unfortunate shooting of one of the rebel soldiers but she hardly cared at this point. Blood needed to be spilled at this point if she wanted peace. When morning rolled around, she was up and moving onto more meetings and lectures over plans for the large event she had to host for the nobels of the city and other cities. She would have to put her best foot forward and make sure the streets were clean and safe for the dignitaries. And besides...she also had more to discuss on when they would be broadcasting her new propoganda with the little traitors...

The next morning Maria was up early making breakfast however she was wondering what everyone was up to. She knew Ava was at her undercover job at the moment at an officer's' place- a hotel this time apparently. Sos he would be out a while yet and perhaps use the shower there to wash away the residue of her suffering there. She hated sleeping with random men- however to get the information it was the fastest route and they all knew it. Maria admired her determination to the cause but wasn't sure about her morals or her mind in all this with all that stress. Heading into her brother's room she noticed he was still a lump in the sheets- meaning he was out cold still. She crept into the room and checked his phone seeing the hadn't set an alarm. She touched his shoulder lightly, giving him a small shake. He grumbled a bit as she eventually opened his eyes. "What?" He asked with a muffled sleepy tone. "Breakfast is almost ready and you have work." She said in a mother tone since she liked caring for her elder brother. "Fine fine." he said as he waved her out of his room so he could prepare for the day. Maria left the room and started the bacon, the crisp smell making her hungry. As soon as she put it on the table Domonick came out of his room looking preened and dressed in his old military uniform. "Going somewhere fancy?" She asked, wondering why he was so formal this morning. "We have a inspection today with Chancellor Victoria. I am to be presenting her guards so they need to be looking well- myself as well." He stated as he forked a mouthful of eggs into his mouth- only puffing a bit since they were hot. She looked mildly humored before nodding. "That sounds like fun." She said before distracting herself with her food. It wasn't long before he left and she began packing up the food but had a thought. Pulling out her phone she called Nate's number, knowing he would like some breakfast- she had made plenty and wanted to bring him- and his roommate- something. She wasn't going to admit she was worried about last night but it was going to be obvious, she just hoped not overly.

Nate woke up earlier than he should of, but that didn't really stop him most days. Even after dealing with a raid the night before, he still liked being up with the sun to get things done. That was more the military life style than his upbringing. He had just gotten back from his apartments gym to find Gabriella was awake with her boyfriend on the couch. The two were playing one of their video games, genuinely looking more entranced by it than the fact they were wrapped up in each other. When he began placing his things on the counter, Gabriella let her eyes slide from the screen a moment, a smirk tugging at her lips. "Hey Nate. Long time no see." She said, knowing that he had been busy with the work and not really there. She knew he was a part of the rebel group but couldn't really discuss it in front of her boyfriend, Graham. He was a bit on the fence with Victoria and thought everyone should just 'get along'. Despite his foolishness, she didn't disagree. It would be nice to see a day when everyone got along. "Hey Gabby...Graham." Nate said, offering the two a wave as he made his way to his room. After a shower and throwing on something casual, he emerged from his room to find Gabriella alone. Her boyfriend must have left for the day. "Graham was late for work, so it gives us the place to ourselves a bit...how have you been?" Her concern showed which made Nate a bit uneasy. He didn't like worrying people. "I'm fine. And you? I haven't seen you around lately." She gave a sigh, nodding some to herself. "I've been working on a few new programs and staying over at Graham's. it just make's things easier when he's in the heart of the city you know?" She said, since he knew where they lived was not easily walking distance from many major places. That was their intention though to keep them out of the line of sight for the police or military. Gabriella's face was well hidden since not many knew what she looked like outside of her hacking work. She had once worked for Victoria's group in taking down her father, but decided to put her work back in to helping people avoid her wrath. It also allowed her to protect the people she cared about and keep the rebels afloat with the information they gave her to use to their benefit. Nate was about to say something about the raid last night when his phone began to ring in his bag. He pulled it out, his gaze softening some when he saw the name. Gabriella peeked over his shoulder and gave a grin. "Alright! You're finally going for her huh?" Gabriella asked, making Nate turn red. "I-it's not like that! At least I think it's not. She's my childhood friend--I mean when we were younger we--well it was just texts and--surely she doesn't feel the same now--probably has some college guy she's thinking about--" Gabriella gave him a nudge, making him realize in his rambling the phone still sat unanswered. He quickly answered it, his face lighting up some even if he knew she couldn't see it. "Hey M, mornin--well it's a good morning now that you called." He said, turning to pace to the living room space but missed the counter in his way. He let out a small "ow" when his abdomen connected with the counter, making him blush a bit to think she probably heard him. Not to mention the cheesy one liner was awful... "Anyways, what's up?" He asked, trying to deviate from his stupid mistakes.

Maria waited for the phone to be picked up, a little annoyed after the first four rings however it finally picked up on the fifth. At the sound of the tone he was using it made her giggle, even when he tried a little flirting. Dom would have been glaring at him honestly for him hitting on his little sister but she didn't mind with Nate. She heard him hit something- meaning he wasn't paying attention to his surroundings because of her call, she thought it was cute. She settled down her laugh but couldn't take the smile off her lips. " I see yours having a good morning Nate. Was wondering if you wanted some breakfast? I made quite a bit and didn't want it to go to waste- so I was thinking I could bring it over? Maybe talk a little?" SHe asked sounding a little unsure about the topic she wanted to discuss since it was the raid. "Your roommate is welcome to breakfast too." She added figuring the girl wouldn't mind.

Nate wanted to face palm when she started to laugh, his face turning a brighter shade of red. Even if her laugh was cute, it was at his expense. She was probably thinking he was oblivious or stupid. Maybe both...He brightened some however when she offered food, making him realize that he hadn't eaten anything that morning. On top of it all, she was offering her company. Though she sounded unsure about the topic it seemed, he would give anything to see her. "Sure! That sounds awesome." He looked around the living room, turning a bit pale when he saw it was a bit of a mess from Gabby and her boyfriend. He went into the living room where Gabby sat with playing her game, making her look at him with a curious look. "Um you can head over whenever you want. Gabby and I are just hanging out." He picked up a couch pillow on the floor and tossed it at Gabby when she made a teasing kissy face at him. She gasped and glared at him, her look morphing into a 'bite me' look. "Oh let me give you the address." He said quickly telling her the street and apartment number so she wouldn't get lost. He began picking up a few things, glad that Gabby got the hint and started helping out.

Maria was glad he agreed, she wanted to make sure things were alright since yesterday. She didn't want to think of her self as a worry wart but she tended to worry about her military men. She packed it up and put it in a large bag, making sure it would stay nice and warm. Heading to her room she found a cute dress and slipped it on, deciding her hair was easily put up for this. It wasn't like she was being dressed up for Nate.... She called a cab, giving the guy the relative address since she didn't mind walking a bit. It didn't take her longer then fifteen minutes to be there, her black flats a little wet from the wet morning pavement. She headed up the elevator to the 124th floor as Mate told her to, finding it was still quiet this morning. Giving the door a knock she waited, the bag on her shoulder, almost wondering if his room mate was home since she knew she often logged into the servers from different access points, meaning different locations. cute dress

Nate busily got the apartment together with Gabriella before he went to get dressed. He settles on a solid grey button down shirt with a plain white t-shirt under it and paired with dark jeans. He didn't really care much for what he wore, just as long as he didn't look like a slob. He was in the midst of trying to calm his hair that was sticking up a little. Gabriella saw him messing with his hair and gave a roll of him a roll of her eyes. "You look fine. Gosh you're primping like a preteen girl." He gave her a small sheepish look, trying not to seem like he was a bit jittery over this. It was hard not to be when the woman you had a crush on since you were young was coming over to see you, actually said that she wanted to reconnect and talk again after so long...It also didn't help that she was the only one of his childhood friends he could see, since Dom sided with the chancellor. He couldn't rightly approach Dom after everything, after he left him in the middle of a war because he couldn't stand the thought of supporting that monster, after taking a stance with the rebels that his troops were trying to stop...He let the feelings of guilt and depression ease away as Gabriella fixed his shirt and gave his hair a slight tousle . "It's okay big guy...Just have a good time will ya?" She said with a soft smile, knowing that the history between them was complicated and she wouldn't step in it. She had been friends with Nate long enough to know he didn't like sharing his business with people and liked to put on a strong face or a smile for others. She just wanted the ma to genuinely happy, as he seemed to be when he got to spend time with Maria or when things seemed to be working out for the rebels... A knock came at the door and instantly Nate perked up, almost like a puppy hearing their master was home from work. He went to the door, opening it with a warm smile. "Hey Maria." He said, though he had to force himself not to look too long at what she was wearing. She looked adorable in anything, but he was happy she wore something cute to see him. Not that this meant she was dressing up to see him--right? Maybe she just liked wearing dresses that looked good on her, right? That was stupid of him to think she would care what he thought...right? He moved aside, ushering her in by extending his arm. "Come on in. Would you like me to help you with the bag?" He offered, feeling like it must be heavy and as a gentleman he should offer to take it from her right? Or was that only for coats? Gabriella came around the corner, giving a small wave to Maria. She was dark in complexion, her olive tone nearing a spanish tan that went well with her pixie cut dark brown hair. She was dressed casuallyy in sweats and a t-shirt, figuring Nate and Maria wouldn't mind if she didn't dress up for their get together. "Hey, I'm Gabby. We met at that briefing a few months ago." She said, giving the girl the benefit of the doubt that she probably wouldn't remember her face. That and she was giving Nate a chance to collect himself so he didn't get flustered trying to be helpful to Maria.

She was a bit impatient but Nate seemed to be hovering about the door it seemed, not that she minded, he was always prompt when they were growing up. She gave him a soft smile at the greeting as she came into the apartment, allowing him to take the heavy bag from her. She watched him take it into the kitchen space to unpack, her eyes however went to his room mate. She remembered her a little but it was best she didn't often for security purposes. Giving her a smile that was almost business like. "Hello Gabby, yes I remember you, it is good to see you relaxing once in awhile." She joked since most of what she had observed of the girl was was a workaholic- making her a good roommate for Nate- since he was one as well. Maria turned her eyes back to Nate and went to help unpack the stuff. " I made a lot so I decided it would be good to share, rations and all- can't have them going to waste. You're welcome to some Gabby." She added for the girls benefit. She looked Nate over and noticed he was well put together at the moment meaning he hadn't just crawled out of bed. "Wanna make some coffee?" She asked him as she dug in the cabinet for some plates. ((here we go... (Dress) I can link via a computer but on a tablet it's impossible it seems))

Gabby expected the girl to be someone that was very straight laced, since Nate liked her. He seemed to have a thing for the independent ones that really took care of themselves. Not that she blamed him. It was smart to put your trust and care into someone that could hold their own. In this world, it was hard to know what tomorrow held and if another war erupted you didn't want to be chained to a liability. Or that's how she saw things at least. Well perhaps she was giving Nate, a rather simple guy, a bit too much credit. She figured he was smitten with the pretty face and fine shape. Guys were easy to please after all. She took in the change in his demeanor, the way he seemed quite happy and eager to please her made Gabriella figure the boy was too far gone for her really ruin their fun if she stole a little food. "thanks. I'll take you up on that since I am relaxing for once." She said before she went to the little kitchen table they had to clear things off of it. Nate was in the process of fishing for the coffee when Maria mentioned making some. He looked to her with a smile, showing her the bag of strong coffee. "Way ahead of you." He saw she was fishing for plates and moved closer, reaching over her a bit to open the cabinet across from her. "Sorry it's a bit disorganized. The plates are here. I can grab some silverware." He said with a sheepish look, knowing the house was obviously one that a guy lived in. "Thanks for doing this. It's been a while since I've had your cooking." He said as he popped the coffee into the device that would turn it to a warm liquid soon. He glanced over when he caught movement in the corner of his eyes and saw Gabby gesturing like she had on a dress and mouthing words. 'Did you compliment her dress?' He blinked at what she was mouthing before he realized he hadn't. Wasn't that bad in girl language to not compliment their outfits? "Oh and that dress looks nice--well on you it looks really nice--I mean, you look pretty." He said as he leaned against the counter with an awkward half smile that could have been an attempt to appear smoother than his words had come across. Gabby made a hand motion of 'smooth', rolling her eyes and trying not to snort at him. He was such a noob when it came to this whole suave thing. It was cute if not a bit pitiful in her opinion.

She grinned at him when he already had the coffee in hand. He was always a steps ahead on something. She felt him move closer to her as she looked for the plated, as he spoke She felt his body heat and the soft tone- the slight rumble from him speaking so close behind her from his chest. She did well not to blush, knowing she needed to control her self since She didn't know how he felt about things nowadays, not to mention they weren't alone. At the mention of how long it had been since he had her cooking she nodded, knowing. It had been four days before the actual rebellion had begun...She shook her head at the thoughts that surfaced about the past, not wanting to think about the pain she suffered- or what her brother endured as she watched... Maria was pulled from her thoughts when Nate suddenly complimented her dress, making her smirk at how awkward he made it seem, though she knew he was trying. "You're welcome, I got all dressed up for you after all." she said wanting to see if it made him tongue tied since this little flirting game used to be the game they played behind her brother's back, liking to be sneaky since her brother was over protective with her. The coffee machine gave a beep that it was done, making her move to get some in a cup she pulled from the dish rack by the sink with a smile at the prospect of having some warm caffine.

Gabriella smirked at Maria's comment behind her magazine that she had plucked from the stack she moved off the table. Seems the girl was either messing around or trying to make things obvious. Either way, it was interesting to see Nate's switch in expression when he realized what she said. He began with a small more laced smile as he said, "Really?", that soon shifted to his face turning a shade of pink and had him nearly loose his balance on the counter. "Oh --haha right." He said with an awkward little laugh since it felt like his brain was on the fritz and his words were turning to stupid garble on his tongue. He cleared his throat to loosen it up a bit before he spoke up when his words were making sense after some thought. "That's good to hear though. It means I'm doing something right for you to consider me." He said, though it came across playful despite the honesty he felt behind it. Even if she was joking, he really did like the idea of her scouring her closet for something she thought he would like--Hell, that she would think of him at all. Surely she could do much better than him any day. He brushed off the thought and went about helping set the table and grab coffee for everyone. After most things were set, he pulled out a chair for Maria just because military manners dictated it out of him for the girl he liked. Not to mention she might be around a while since she had mentioned wanting to talk about something...

At his cute almost surprised tone she smiled as she made up her coffee, grabbing another cup and filled it for him. A smile on her lips as she passed it to him. His further assessment made her think he was being sarcastic, though she figured it was honest some where in his mind. She let him fidget about for little things before taking a seat. When he pulled the chair out for her she smiled at him,"You're so sweet." she said sounding almost teasing as she sat. She made a small plate and let them what they wished since it wasn't what they were used to getting since she had a high military ranked rations card meaning she got luxury items the others couldn't have gotten tho com with. She was happy tho share with Hate... It only her brother would allow him over....she waited a bit for them to get some food in before she sipped her coffee that was now cool enough to drink. "I am glad your safe Nate, I was scared my warning wouldn't reach you soon enough..." she easily confessed to him since she did look a Little tense still with her hands about her coffee tightly.

Nate felt a bit of heat rush his face at her teasingly calling him sweet. He handled it well though and smiled, taking the seat next to her since he wanted to be able to talk more with her. Gabriella took the seat across from Nate, her attention more on the food rather than the two love birds. "Damn they really do give you upper crusts the good shit." She said before taking healthy portions of the food. Nate gave Gabby a bit of a look that looked like a warning before he served himself some as well. "It's only fair with all the work your brother puts in..." He said since he didn't hate Dom for where he was or what he got from it. He believed the man was still his typical moral self, just that he was looking out for Maria despite being wrapped up in Victoria's lies. He had taken a healthy mouthful of eggs when she spoke up about the other night. He blinked looking to her with a bit of confusion. "Ah nah, everything worked out fine." He said around what was left of the food in his mouth, though he paused when he noticed she seemed to lose that confident demeanor. She looked tense and her hands looked to be a bit white knocked around the coffee cup. It made Nate's expression ease as he swallowed before speaking. "Thanks to you of course. I'm glad you were looking out for us." He said, wanting to ease her mind on it all. Missions were dangerous, especially ones that involved getting up close and personal with the military bases. He was used to that sort of thing, so she didn't have to worry too much. Besides, there wouldn't be much lost even if he didn't come back from one. While he had some sway with the rebels, he wasn't some important official or anything. Just a form of general that helped keep the recruits and the training of the forces up to speed. "You don't have to worry though. Dom always did say I have a dumb luck about things." He said with a bit of a smirk since Nate often survived insane situations and came out with maybe a broken bone or a shot or two. It used to bother the hell out of Dom, but more in a joking brotherly sense than actual distaste. Both were similar in the sense that why did what they had to to get shit done. "Anyways, how are you? That picture of you and Dom was nice." He said, since she had sent him a rather cute picture of her and her brother.

As he brushed off her small words she frowned, not looking at him but her coffee still. Maria knew Nate was trying to make her feel better- even if the mission went as planned- just not at the planned area. They were short certain things now but they would manage another way she reckoned. Her mind traveled a little further into the negative with the thought that if he didn't make it back? Her gut gave a small squeeze like it had when she heard the news that Domonick was going into reconstructive surgery to save his life. She quieted it down as she took a sip of coffee- she knew both of her boys had dumb luck but that didn't stop her from worrying. When Nate mentioned said luck she rolled her eyes, loosening up a little with a small smirk. "Well one say your luck will run out and I worry for the person who has you..." She said more like a warning for him however at the end she sounded humored. More to herself because whoever had him- she was going to find them and make their life hell. 'Nate was hers and no one elses'. She thought to herself but paused at the thought, when did she become so possessive over the man? She was allowed to do so over her brother but even he drew a line- thought Nate never gave her that boundary so she was being selfish she figured. 'Some one has to keep him alive.' She thought in an after thought with a smile that was softer towards Nate. When he changed the subject she let it flow easily into the next topic. "I'm okay, I worry about my brother, I often see him and to lunch with him but he always seems to be in thought..." She commented before her look turned teasing. "Well I'm glad you liked the picture- don't go making it the background on your phone now- we all know how you got a thing for my brother." She smirked knowing they were friends nothing more but it was more light hearted than the heavy topics.

When she commented about luck running out, he gave a shrug, mostly because he didn't see it that way. He could take care of himself very well and the moment he couldn't, well that was that. While he wasn't out doing reckless things to get himself killed, he was under the mindset of some of the men that left the war. They were on borrowed time after surviving that war Victoria used to nearly destroy the foundation of their lives...He kept himself safe so far, but he afforded some of that to thoughts of protecting Maria. She didn't deserve to have more people die on her. "You're talking like I'm going somewhere. You have to have a little more faith in me than that." He said with a smile, offering her quizzical look since she seemed a bit off with the topic. At the change of topic, he ate a bit more. He was glad to hear she got to see her brother, but news of him being in thought a lot made Nate curious. Before he could ask though, she added a joke about the photo. It made him nearly choke on his bite, though he was able to laugh at it. "Damn can I at least share it on his fan page? Well, they might get a bit distracted by you." He said in a joking tone before he decided it was best to ask what she meant by in thought. "You got that information from him about the changes in security. Is something going on with his work that has him bothered? You know Dom isn't one for being secretive about how he's feeling." He said since Dom was often the first to speak up when he was mad or frustrated.
