Mercy glanced at Rin when he asked why her mother and nodded,"Well yes, she stated that they were strict and very traditionalistic with their wishes to better the people rather then personal happiness. My aunt left because Hs enought against the elders' wishes on whom to marry and they beheaded her lover and through her out of the city- exile. My mother followed her example by simply leaving as she wasnt thrown from any city but wished freewill in her life." Mercy explained very smoothly since she had told Ciel this many times so he understood it. "My aunt is happy and loves her family. She wouldn't change it for the world as you may have noticed as she dotes on our strange mage uncle." She added with a smirk towards her father, who decided to speak on her mother. "Well, your mother was a free woman, very hard to keep anywhere for a period of time.at a party she was around talking to everyone, dancing, singing, just enjoying her life to the fullest. Then we later discovered that you were to be born after a few months of her being here with me. I asked her to stay and be my wife, she declined but stated she loved me. I was content with that, and so was she till you turned two and she decided she felt smothered and wanted to leave. I of course thought she would come back, for her only child after all but instead I got a few letters from her In Regards to her loving me and her own child, but that she had found another love with a man in a different land. Of course that's natural, and I had asked which politician it was and her reply blew me out of the water. A peasant...a lowly minor at that, a Vampire, she married him...I'm not going to say I didn't feel slighted but i did regret not making that woman stay as leaving ended in her death and Ciel being sent to us for proper care." He states a little more begrudging at ths end. Mercy listened but frowned at her father's comment on her little brother. "Ciel is my responsibility father. You know this. He is a well behaved boy. I remeber reading the letters well myself and she did tell you every letter that she loved you and me and didnt regret any moment she had with us." She stated firmly getting a slow nod from her father. He didnt speak again but did drink his beverage in silence. "Well, I'm sure Dian and Aiden are looking for either us or Ciel. So I'm not worried about them, we are safe in their house. I'm still going to call a jeweller here tomorrow to get more exact details on this ring. With your permissions of course. " mercy went on to say seeming to ignore her father presently.

Rin listened to their explanations of why Mercy’s mother left. It was all about freedom and control it seemed. In the end, that seemed to be something the Fey held dear if it was any consolation to Mercy and Mez’s personalities. Now why would their culture try to box them in? Rin realized the more he got to know Mercy that she was a lot like her mother it seemed, now that he was hearing about the woman. She followed her whims and made them so, living in her truth so to speak. That wasn’t a bad way to live, but Rin wondered a moment if he might end up like her father one day. Regretting letting her leave and clinging to her memory. He wondered if Dimitri would suffer the same, but he sensed Mezedonne at least loved the mage enough to drag him along on her adventures. He would willingly go, Rin was sure after seeing the way the man catered to her. Could Rin cater to Mercy the same if they ever decided to put a label to whatever this was? He let the thought drop when Mercy admitted that the Fey had killed Mez’s lover, his e yes s widening some. Well that didn’t sound pleasant and he was sure that created the protective streak in the woman over her mage husband. And now Mercy wanted to drag him there? He thought hard about that before he found he was being ridiculous. Buuut to be on the safe side he wouldn’t be leaving Mercy’s sight. When she capped off her thoughts by scolding her father’s regrets over Ciel’s creation and moving on to the information about a jeweler, Rin made a face of thought. He wouldn’t comment to Ciel’s situation since it wasn’t any of his business. He respected the kid and understood the care one could have for a caring sister. He was lucky to have Mercy...Besides, Aiden and Rin liked Ciel just fine and he didn’t need this stuck up, heartbroken elf’s approval. “I see. Well, that means Aiden and I will have to tread very carefully then in the city. Perhaps you will as well Mercy if their traditions are that strict. Either way, I’ll follow your lead. Hopefully they will be understanding at the very least.” Rin then gave a small nod to the offer of a jeweler. “It couldn’t hurt. They might be able to pin point if it really did have its origins in both Harena and Nyx, or if it’s fake.” He stated since he wasn’t fully convinced it was all true or real at the moment.

When he mentioned a city she chuckled," Honestly I may be half fey but that doesn't mean I need to abide by the rules of Fey society. They understands that its extremely hard to breed with ones own kind but we often branch out for higher chances of breeding...Just a little bit of secretive information for you Rin. It was why my aunt will never leave her silly little mage." she stated since honestly she knew her aunt had been trying for a child for a very very long time with no luck but as soon as she was with a human- she actually got a child. She huffed before taking a drink of what she had in a glass with a sigh. "Alright then I will write a lettings to address the jeweler to come as an appointment and you father will not invite any more suitors here or I will poison them all. I swear on mothers silver hair." She stated very filmy getting a put off look from her father. "Fine fine, can't blame me for wanting my daughter close and happy at home." he stated getting her to shrug. Soon she got up and left with rin towards the suite of the house. She however stopped by her own person suite and showed him that his own rooms were across the hall from her- Aidens' room to his left and Ciel to his right. All close and safe since honestly there was no room safer then Mercy's room since there were actually guards at the end of the hall.

Mercy got all formal about the concepts of Fey society and Rin was surprised she went into specifics on breeding. So having children was hard for the Fey? No wonder their numbers were smaller and they lived longer. Also, it made sense why Mezedonne would want to take on the weaker mage as her husband and why they were so happy over the baby news. So the chances of a baby kept her around? He found that it was more of an incentive than a complete draw. The mage obviously head over heels for the woman and didn’t mind her being exactly who she was as a partner. Rin understood the flighty mage surprisingly now that he had Mercy around. It was easy to desire them for their independence, beauty, and this feeling of mystery that kept things exciting… He smirked when she told her father that no more suitors were allowed or she would poison them. The threat was real and he was very sure it would be…He followed her to the suites and caught sight of where Aiden and Ciel would be staying. Seems they would have company that night. With the guards busy at the end of the hall, Rin did pull her a bit closer, more because they had been interrupted earlier and he missed the contact. “Thank you for talking with your father today and helping me see the end of this suitor mess. Even if I can’t be a prince as your father seemed to be griping about, I am able to be of any service you desire, Lady Mercy--” He leaned in to kiss her, but the door to Ciel’s room opened and he was forced to step away as Aiden came into the hall with Dian, having been talking with Ciel on his architectural passions. “So this whole place is really that old Ciel? I never really paid much mind to the architecture of the--Oh there you two are.” He gave Rin a smile, but paused when he noticed some odd smearing near his neck and face. Not to mention his shirt where the color was stronger. It stood out on his skin and it made Aiden’s brow rise. Why would Rin have such a rogued color on his face? Was the man wearing make-up? Poorly but...He looked to Mercy and noticed that some of her lip stain from earlier was gone. Maybe from drinking…? He didn’t put two and two together quite yet, but the wheels were turning in his head. “How was the talk with that general?” Aiden asked and Rin gave a small scoff. “A royal ass...Mercy sent him on his way and we got a chance to talk to her father about our business. A jeweler will be coming out tomorrow.” Rin’s answer made Rin nod, but he leaned in a bit to speak privately with Rin. “Man, you’ve got something on your face.” Aiden whispered and Rin ran a hand over his cheek and pulled it away. He blanched when he saw more of the red of Mercy’s lip stain. “I think it’s a dye from a drink possibly...Who knows with these Elven cities where I could have picked it up.” He lied very poorly, perhaps one of the worst he had given in his lifetime. He bowed to the people there and went in his room before Ciel came out and got a look at him. Aiden frowned some when his friend left into his room like the recluse he could be, giving a sigh since it must have looked poorly to his new friend and bothered Mercy. They looked like they were having an intense conversation when he walked out. “Everything okay Mercy? We’re staying another day I hope?” Aiden asked since he had wanted to see more of the city before just running out of there.

She grinned as he got her smaller point and pulled her closer, seeming okay with where his room was at. Her smirk turned into a more coy look as her drink was settling in as she listened to his words, enjoying the he stated he was able to be of any service- she liked that a lot. He leaned in to kiss her but suddenly moved back, making her eyes to look what for- finding it to be Aiden and Dian, Ciel still in his room it seemed. Her blanched a little since Dian was giving her a shit head look. He knew what the other man was covered in- namely her favorite lip stain. His lie was terrible but no one commented as Rin left. just as Rin left Ciel came out his door and gave his sister a soft smile. "Yes Aiden it is. Tomorrow we can tour the city maybe, get a good look at some other things. How was father Mercy?" He asked more as a formality making Mercy smile at her brother. "Hes an ass tonight. I'm sorry Ciel. We have a man coming to look Into the ring tomorrow, so we have additional time in the city." She stated sounding almost put off about it. "Dian, can you check in on Rin and maybe help him get that stain off his skin. Poor thing might set it." She stated getting a chuckle from the man. "Of course, you know me, king of fighting laundry stains." He joked getting a humored look from Mercy as Dian left to go help address that. When Aiden asked if everything was okay she gave him a small smile and nodded,"yes, everything is fine, I'm just a little flushed form drinking I belive." She stated as her own excuse but hers was beliveable. Unlike Rins.... Mercy in the mean time showed Aiden his room. It was mostly simple and elegant furnature, even of it were large. It was addressed in pale greens and golds, all looking high quality and new. She showed him how to call for staff of he needed anything and aske if he had any other questions. Aiden looked excited at the prospect of staying more time since he always loved getting to see new places now that he had the time. He gave Ciel a nod and a grin before following Mercy to the room she had. He looked a bit surprised by the elegance, something he had seen back home but of course with different styles. "It's weird being back in this kind of environment. As I'm sure it is for you too Mercy." He said before his brows furrowed some. "Are you sure you're alright? You didn't seem to happy to be staying...I talked to Ciel a little and he told me how hard it was for him in this city...is it the same for you? If that's the case then is there anything we can do to help?" He asked her since Aiden had come to consider Mercy a friend at the least. She was a good person and he didn't like seeing his friends struggling.
Rin was scrubbing at the stain, looking a bit flushed and pissed. He had drank a little, but was only slightly buzzed. He hoped Aiden didn’t put two and two together but he could never tell with the man. Besides, maybe it was best he wasn’t sneaking around with Mercy when her brother could very easily find out. He wasn’t out to lie to Ciel as he felt this wasn’t fair to the kid. Surely he could see reason later...but that wasn’t the conversation he wanted to hear. He jumped when the door opened, turning to see Dian entering. It made his face fall some in confusion before he gave a clearing of his throat. “I apologize I didn’t think you would stopping in Dian.” He said, brushing some of his wet hair from his face, eyes on Dian in inspection since he wasn’t sure why the man would be here. “Can I help you?” He asked bluntly, maybe a bit abrasively but he wasn’t used to interacting with strangers and this was a long day already.

When Rin was a bit abrasive he chuckled, moving over to the shelf not far from him and grabbed an oil that was a lite blue shade. "Use this, it will come off quickly." He stated before giving him a knowing look. "I have it figured out, Mercy's face said everything. She let's her guard down around you. That's good but it also worries me. She is like my little sister, so be truthful and honest with her. Cause if you hurt her- ans Shw dosent kill you- I just might. " he threatened in a very low tone however his demeanor changed smoothly as he moved to smell some of the soaps. "Another question, your friend- I'm assuming he isnt in to men correct?" He asked since it was more of a question about Aiden's likes since he was drawn to that sort of human. •°~~~°• When Aiden asked kore questions about her personally he looked a little suprised he was that perceptive- more then she gave him credit for. "I am uneasy to be home again because of Ciel. He wasn't welcome here, and that bothers me a lot. He is my blood and I love my brother. My father had been trying to throw suitors at me to get me to stay home, as if." She scoffed as she explained before taking a breath. To his final question on whether there was anything he could do she gave him a soft smile," That's sweet of you to ask Aiden, but there is nothing that can be done right now, but if some thing comes up, you and Rin shall be the first to know alright?" She stated softly hoping to pacify the man.

At the offer of a solution to the stain, Rin gave the man a nod. He took the light blue liquid, but paused when the man began speaking on Mercy. He had a feeling Dian wouldn’t be a moron if he was friends with Mercy. But the threat wasn’t needed, even if he understood it. He would have done the same thing over Essa if he’d been allowed the choice...He saved what he had to say until after Dian finished, asking abo ur Aiden’s preferences. Rin gave the man a half smile before dousing his face in some of the liquid to help wash it off with the cloth. “No he isn’t into men. I flirted with him once to be sure and only got a very kind offer of friendship. He would probably be flattered if you asked. He seems to like you though, even if I’m sure Aiden likes quite a few people.” Rin told him to be kinder to the man that was obviously a good friend to Mercy and Ciel. “As for Mercy,” he paused to wipe away some of the liquid with a rag and was glad it was doing the trick, “I can promise you I don’t want to hurt her. Quite the opposite in fact. I was just thinking of telling the others eventually. Though I’m sure my feelings for her are a bit more...Well best not to worry over that. The Fey Like their independence and I can respect that in her.” He said since Mercy seemed to regard him as a pleasant distraction and he was okay with that as long as he kept her attention and didn’t have to fight for it from someone else. ~~~~ Aiden gave a small nod at her statement, glad she was honest with him about her feelings being there. It was hard to get along in a place where people you loved dearly weren’t accepted. Aiden saw the pain in Ciel at being forced to be here and found it was admirable that Mercy was concerned for her brother’s well being above her own. She really was a good sister. “It makes sense. Ciel told me some of how your father could be with him. But I admire how strong you are and protective of him. And that sucks about the suitors. I remember my father forcing people down my throat, all terrible matches that would only end in an existence of tolerating each other...I think you deserve a lot better than that of course and I’m sure you and Ciel can continue to adventure without worry of having to settle into this city. I already want to convince him to be an architect for me when I get my kingdom back so that will keep you two busy I feel.” He said as a small bit of humor to maybe brighten her mood. The pacifying remark made him nod since Rin used those often to get Aiden to leave a topic. “Alright alright, I’ll accept that. Just know we’re here for you as friends.I think I can speak for Rin too. Hell, I haven’t seen Rin warm up to someone as quickly as you. It took me a whole month for him not to glare at me every time I spoke. Well, when I wasn’t teasing or annoying him.” He laughed but knew that Mercy was sure to not want to hang around on these topics and probably wanted to go rest after tonight.

Dian gave an 'ah' face as he looked a little put off but not discouraged. "No worries, just a curiosity- I have a fancy for dark haired humans." He staed smoothly since it was clear Rin did not meet that standard. As be continued to speak, this time on the Mercy situation be pursed his lips in thought. At his evasive manner of speaking of his real feelings he nodded,"Admitting a true connection with some one who can reach you on a personal level is a hard step to take. If you feel you need to eventually Express that to the woman, I would. For one I think she would take it well and second I think she deserves to know your feelings." He stated smoothly to maybe help the man out a little with Mercy. "Mercy might like her independence but she makes attachments, as you can see with Ciel. We she not attached- would she not bother catering to your preferences?" He stated with a bit of a chuckle since it was clear to him but maybe not to this man. •°~~~°• "Rin is a very closed off person. I coudl feel that he had been hurt before and I wanted to happ heal that pain. I am a healer- ita not suprise hw opened up to me quickly- I've had to adapt my bed side manner to help others." She stated truthfully but not telling Aiden everything since really the boy could draw his own assumptions. "Anyhow I think I'll retire for the evening. Good night Aiden, sleep well." She stated as she slipped back off into her own room.

Rin gave Dian a small sardonic smile at his admitting he liked dark hair humans. Well, he felt for the man but he was sure he would get over it. “Then you should visit Harena sometime after this chaos ends. You’ll find plenty.” He joked since he knew the fascination with men with light skin and dark hair. Hale had been a looker, before he ended being the evilest prick Rin had the pleasure of killing. He now found himself partial to blondes and Half-Fey...He let the thought drop as Dian spoke more on his feelings. Honestly, Rin knew the man was right but it was good to hear it. He knew he had to tell her but that was something he would do at a later time, when the time was right. Right now they had enough on their plates and he didn’t want to mess with feelings in it all. The added comment about her making attachments made Rin give a quick nod. Dian was right, but Rin never wanted to be an attachment to anyone. Attachment was dangerous and only got you hurt...but with Mercy, he felt something about that idea shift. He genuine liked the woman and felt they understood a piece of each other that he hadn’t found elsewhere. Granted, Rin was piss poor at relationships... “Thanks Dian. I will tell her when the time is right. And it helps hearing she isn’t totally against the idea of attachments. It’s hard to tell with her sometimes. You know, the bluntness.” He said since he knew she had some care after she stepped in to help him with Hale...”Anyways I won’t hold you up. I wanted to speak with Mercy on this idea of speaking with her brother and Aiden about it all.” He told Dian since Rin was trying to be social and cordial but it was obvious interacting with strangers on more personal things wasn’t his forte.

At the offer that he should visit Harena he nodded,"Indeed I shall do just that, I've hesr tales of the people there wbk are all d as dker skinned, with dark hair- all humans as well. Should be like walking into a store and wanting everything." He chuckled since honestly he wasnt sure if a woman from that place would sway his preferences but he was always up for a try. As he intered that Mercy was a hard read he nodded along because she was. Dian smiled at Rin when he was attempting to be nice. "The pleasure was mine. If you need help- or run into trouble here on the city- just ask for me. I'll spring you out of jail." He chuckled as she left with a wave and a small goodbye. He figured let the then peice his mind together before talking to Mercy as she could be Intimidating when she wasnt meaning to.

Rin gave Dian’s comment about the men in Harena a small chuckle. He would enjoy Harena then since the place was crawling with dark haired humans. When Dian offered his help, Rin gave a small nod thanks. “I appreciate it Dian.” He told the man before the man left him to get ready for the night. It was a bit later before he knocked on Mercy’s door, ignoring the looks he got from a guard at the end of the hall. Her father already knew about them so that wasn’t a concern. “Mercy, do you have a moment to talk?” He asked through the door since he was sure she was getting ready to go to bed or hadn’t expected another conversation.

Mercy was sitting in a lounge reading the book on magic as she waited to get more tired however she about dropped her book when some one knocked on the door. She put it aside and stood up making her way to the door and opening it. She found Rin, looking a little more comfortable and wanting to talk it seemed. "Of course, come on in." She stated, moving so he could come into the room. She herself was comfortable, in not much more then a slip but she didn't mind, it was Rin after all. "And just what could the ever handsome Rin wish to discuss with little ol' me?" She teased him since she knew he liked to be playful sometimes.

Mercy’s playful greeting and sexy slip was a nice touch and made Rin relax as he came in. He sat across from her in the room and gave her a small chuckle. “You know I always just want to talk to you. Just some thoughts on how things are going here.” He said with a half smile as he gave a bit of thought to exactly how he wanted to word things. “So after your father found out about us and Dian, I started thinking about things with Aiden and Ciel. Yes it’s none of their business but all the sneaking around is causing some uncomfortable situations. And I’d rather not get caught and killed by Ciel. I don’t personally care if they know because I...” He said before pushing some hair from his face. “I like being with you Mercy and it took seeing a lot of men trying to win your attention to see that. I don’t necessarily know exactly what that means or what you think about that. But Dian said I should tell you what I’m thinking so I will. He seems to have his shit together a bit better than I do.” He stated in a bit of an awkward rush because he wasn’t used to sharing his feelings. But Mercy was beautiful and kind, understanding in a way that Rin wasn’t used to. That made him feel something a bit more than just a passing fancy for her, even if he couldn’t label the attachment well...

She retook her seat on the lounge as Rin got comfortable and made a cute joke about wanting her company. As he spoke on wanting to tell Aiden and Ciel she rose a brow since honestly she wasn't sure how that would work. As he continued to speak however about liking being with her,his small admittance of jealousy made her chuckled hur ultimately she appreciated knowing his thoughts. "I see, so you want to go from a secret death wish go approved glaring and awkward silences? Very well then." Shw joked since Ciel would be a little off about that, she wouldn't have been suprised if Aiden picked up on it. "I rather enjoy being with you as well Rin. It's always an adventure and you know to let me make my own way in the world. You dont judge me of actions and we can usually talk out most things...not to mention the sex." She stated at the end with a rather large satisfied looking grin. "We can bring it up over breakfast. So Aiden and Ciel can have time to think tomorrow. Sound like a plan? Any other concerns? Any thoughts on what we learned today?" She asked at the end wondering what his other thoughts were over this mess.
