Checking the road, Lorne pulled off of the curb and onto the street smoothly, his car picking up speed quickly. Her question brought a small smile to his face. "I have faith in the store. They will cater to you and even make you a dress from scratch if you don't find anything in their inventory. The workers will ask you what you are looking for and bring you a selection based on what your description. Plus they like my family and you will be able to check out their VIP selection. Trust me you'll find something or I will have them make you one." It was expensive sounding but she should be able to afford it and it wasn't as if it mattered. If he was her supposed boyfriend now than, Lorne was going to have to pay for stuff for Rae anyways. That was just how society said it should be.

She opened her mouth to stop him but she figured that he could just learn it on his own. Rae looked out the window at the passing street lights, she wasn't like most girls that he met and she wondered how long it would take him to figure that out. He hadn't asked her why she was walking or why she dressed the way she did. She didn't dress like most girls with the status and money she had and he seemed to just ignore that. She smirked to herself and looked down at her hands. They were their normal sun kissed brown as they always were, no tanning salon or lotions. But with one quick movement they could...a part of her hand was shadowed now as it started to blend in with his leather seats. She smiled and then moved her hand away from the seat making it return to her normal skin tone. "You have no idea of how a girl like me likes to do things" she looked back at him and smiled. It was just playful banter that she was giving him but she would let him show her the store before she told him that she didn't like it and couldn't find anything nor could they make anything that she would like.

Her words didn't quite surprise him but Lorne hadn't really been expecting them at the same time, a curious expression wavered on his face as he turned to look at and then leaned over closer, the corner of his eyes watching the road as they slowed to a stop, the red light commanding him to do so. "Then why don't you tell me?" He breathed into her ear, not caring if this gave her a more valid reason to connect him with Remus. His pupils dilated some as he looked at her, trying to figure her out and persuade her with his voice and the pheromones that his body continually pumped out would relax her, something that centuries of evolution had allowed him to be able to do to gain a more easily obtainable prey.
It seemed though as if she doubted he choice in shops. She didn't know however that the owner of the shop was a family friend of sorts, distantly related to his father and that made him of the same blood and species. What a small world right? The light turned green and he started forward slowly before picking up speed again. He took a turn almost right away and than another. Almost there he wanted to see Rae's reaction. He could have fun sometimes couldn't he?

She sucked in a breath when he got closer to her, she liked how close he was but then she remembered she just messed with her camouflage and he could have seen. She looked up at the light just as it turned green and then back at him "Why should I just tell you? Then I get to have no fun" she smirked at him watching where they were headed. This was a part of town that she didn't venture often, there were certain places she needed to be seen and people to talk to. "You'll find that money doesn't mean anything to me, that things most girls you date like I most likely wont. I may come from a rich family but I don't indulge...often" she smirked even more and felt the change in the atmosphere, did she do that. She studied him for a minute "Why don't you tell me something about yourself?"

No fun? Well either way Lorne could have some fun with Rae. Make her wonder maybe? "But indulging yourself doesn't mean that you are rich though you are right. Most girls I have dated." When Lorne said the word it came out ugly, disgust obvious in his voice. He didn't like the girls his parents had set him up with, any of them really. "Were into spending all their parent's money. Kind of sickening really." The only thing Lorne indulged himself on with his parent's money were car parts and anything that had to do with music. Though those were hobbies and he didn't spend near the amount that most rich girls did on clothing.
She wanted to know something about him, then he would tell her something but what? He thought on it for a moment as he turned left and looked for a parking spot on the street, he wasn't in the mood for going into the private parking lot. "I am an only child and there has been many a day where I wondered why I was born of my father and mother." That was all he said as Lorne pulled into a street parking spot, parallel parking just right. Turning off the car, he stepped out without a word and walked to the sidewalk, the purple and black sign above the door telling him that they were at the right place. He gave her something to think about and wondered what Rae would respond to his words. He smirked as he waited for her. His body feeling as if he was looking at her as prey, when in reality he didn't want to, though he couldn't stop the pheromones that he knew he was unconsciously putting out.

When the car came to a stop she sat there for a minute, was she really going to a dress shop with him. She finally got out of the car and stared at him blankly "I already knew that you were an only child that's no surprise" She still couldn't make out what he was getting at with the second part of his answer. What was he hiding from? She looked up at the shop and already felt like she didn't want to go inside. But she would at least give it a chance and but a ritzy looking shop like this sure as hell wasn't going to have what she wanted. She opened the door and walked in, not even waiting for him to open the door for her. She just wanted to get this over with so that she could tell her mother that she just couldn't find a dress so that they would just call off the whole thing.

Rae just walked right in and he smiled at her response. Walking in behind her, Lorne looked around. It looked the same but then his eyes caught site of the owner of the store, a dark brown haired woman who looked of oriental descent. Pale beautiful skin and dark brown eyes. She caught sight of him and swooped over, predatory grace in her step and a large smile on her face, long k-nine obvious. He hid his dislike as she gave him a large hug, hugging her back but rolling his eyes at Rae. "Lorne! Oh it has been to long!" She announced loudly, her voice holding a slight accent that was only noticeable in how she pronounced her vowels. "How is your mother and father?" She questioned, but didn't give him time to respond as her dark eyes, caught hold of Rae, Lorne's face paled significantly as the woman narrowed her eyes and then gave him a large smile. "Oh finally! She exclaimed and Lorne opened his mouth to talk but closed it, giving Rae an apologetic look as the dark haired woman walked closer and peered at Rae, eyes trailing along her neck, he could feel the room change as the woman tried to test the girl to see if Lorne had bitten her and not bothered to bind Rae or if he had bound her.
Knowing that there would be no response from Rae, unless she had been bitten by someone, Lorne rested his hand on the girl. "Jazabell." He said softly and the woman looked at him, her mouth open and cheeks flushed before her face turned cross. "Oh I thought you had...You know your father wont be pleased." Lorne gritted his teeth, voice tense and angry, hoping his eyes didn't shift colors slightly though he knew his pupil would probably be elongating sideways slightly. "He's already told me." He responded and the woman narrowed her eyes, not saying what Lorne knew she wanted to. Though the atmosphere changed completely as Jazabell, full blooded as she was, put a smile on her face and looked cheerily at Rae. "I have something that will suit you perfectly." She pronounced excitedly and scuttled away to the back room. Lorne was still tense though he was slowly relaxing, his eyes however kept the turmoil and frustration placed honestly in the open, try as he might he couldn't help it. "Sorry about that." He commented and pinched the bridge of his nose, eyes closing.

Rae had to plug her ears at the noise and she looked around trying to figure out what was going on. Then she saw Lorne and some woman hugging. It should have been nothing to Rae expect the fact that she felt herself getting a little hot, she shouldn't be getting angry that those two knew each other. She had to look away and keep her attention focused on dresses, of course there were some that were frilly others with lace. She was about to turn around and walk away when she felt someone near her. Rae turned her attention to the lady that had been hugging Lorne moments ago, but the lady didn't say anything really just confusing Rae some. Then she bounced away "I sure I don't even want to know what just happened and I want to thank you for bringing me to this...store but it's not my taste" she was getting a sick feeling from being here and she just wanted to get away from this place. That lady...there was something wrong with her and it took all of Rae's will to not just go invisible right there on the spot to get away from what ever was surrounding that woman.

"Good. Because I wasn't going to tell you if you asked and we can't leave right now. She'll tell my father and then I'll have to sit through a lecture." What Lorne didn't tell Rae was that the lecture would consist of a forceful awakening of instincts and end up as a fight between his father and himself, Lorne always lost. Of course he knew he was going to be reminded by his father everyday about his 'obligation'. Sighing, he opened his eyes, knowing that his eyes still would probably look a little bit odd, the pupil being misshapen.
"I'll take you out to get ice cream or something if you wait with me please." He voice was pleading as he looked up at Rae, a pained smile on his face. He really didn't want to have to deal with his father's wrath, going on about embarrassment and showing respect to your elders. "I would really appreciate it." He added, if she wanted to ask him a question in return he would probably answer it, well he would answer most questions unless they had something to do with his bloodline and species. Looking away, he tried to gauge the amount of time it would take Jazabell to get the dress, by the sound of something falling in the back, he guessed a few minutes.

Rae stopped and took a deep breath. Why was she even considering staying? She didn’t like this place and she sure as hell didn’t like that women. The way she looked at her, it was as if she was searching for something or maybe she was looking at her like she was lunch or something. Rae finally turned around to face Lorne taking in his words and trying to decide what she wanted to do. She knew what it was like having to deal with parents when you didn’t want to but why would he get a lecture for her leaving? It wasn’t like he owned her and she could do what she wanted, not what others told her to do. She hardly did what her parent’s wanted to but the look on his face changed her mind “Alright I’ll stay to try on ‘one’ dress that’s it…and I’m not two you don’t have to bribe me with ice cream” Though she could go for some ice cream, she loved milkshakes and hadn’t gotten one in a couple of weeks. Rae looked around the store a little bit more just trying to keep herself from going invisible or just flat out running out of the store. “How do you know her?” Rae asked trying to remember if he had told her cause they seemed a little closer than just a family friend.

"Thank you so much Rae." Lorne said, his body loosening slightly and his face showing a relieved look. He heard another crash and figured that Jazabell hadn't been working for a while, or else she would know where everything was, though as he thought about it more, Lorne realized that she was probably jittery and embarrassed by her mistake. His father had always made fun of her, calling her a klutz. At Rae's words, Lorne turned his attention back to her, feeling bad for zoning out for a moment, though he had been away of her every movement, his senses still being heightened from his interaction with Jazabell earlier. "She is a very close family friend and related to my father, though somewhat distantly." He shrugged his shoulders some, Lorne's voice being even toned though in his mind he was mad at the woman, trying to act like his father at times. "My father told me that she was my aunt when I was little so in reality that is what she is to me, though not by blood."
Seeming to be drawn by the word, Jazabell seemed to float out of the dressing room, a white bag folded over her forearm. She took the white bag off as she stopped in front of Lorne and Rae. It revealed a dark green silk dress, a blueish shimmer cascading when the light hit the fabric just right. It had thin straps but there were no embellishments, no lace or jewels. It was simple and slightly low cut though in a flattering way. "What do you thing? Will you try it on? I mean I guessed on your size but I think it is right." She babbled and held it out for Rae to see. It had a tight bodice and a skirt that slowly flowed outwards though in ripples. Lorne thought it was nice, though he didn't think any dresses looked good unless they were on a body.

Rae turned to Lorne and listened to his words nodding once, she had a few of those though most of them were related through blood somehow. Her family history went way far back and sometimes it even surprised her to think about it. She took a deep breath trying to keep herself calm, there was just something not right about this place and she was beginning to wonder if everyone who knew Lorne would give her that feeling. She turned her attention to Jazabell when she returned with a dress bag. She was a little curious to see what dress she wanted her to try on, Rae peered at the dress when she brought it out. It was beautiful but was it appropriate, by her mother’s standards, for the cotillion.
Rae looked over the dress several times, she did like the color very much and she was happy that there was no lacy or beads on it too ‘enhance’ the dress as others told her. It was just a simple gown with a brilliant color to it. She turned her gaze to Jazabell and smiled, she was pleased with the dress but she still had her doubts with the way it would look on her “I would very much like to try it on” she said hoping that she wasn’t getting the poor ladies hopes up too much.

"Oh wonderful! The changing rooms are down that hall and any one of them should be open. Jazabell practically purred and pointed to her left which was Rae's right. She held out the dress for Rae to take, making it obvious that she wanted to talk to Lorne otherwise she would have walked Rae to her appropriate dressing room. Lorne stifled a shudder. If Jazabell wanted to talk to him alone than that meant something was up. Waiting to see if Rae would leave, the woman gave her a smile, her dark eyes still looking at her as if she was searching for something. Lorne looked away from Rae, embarrassed at Jazabell's behavior. He then glanced at Rae and mouthed a 'sorry'.

Rae finally forced herself to give Jazabell a small smile and took the dress from her “Thank you” She said and then tried to figure out what was going on at the moment. Things still didn’t feel right to her between the two of them but she shrugged it off and headed off to the dressing rooms. It felt kind of nice to be alone and not being stared at like she was a piece of meat to be eaten. Rae sighed a little once she walked into the dressing room. She closed the door and hung the dress up, and then she turned around to the mirror and just stared at herself for a minute. She closed her eyes took a deep breath and then opened them. There was no image in the mirror now and Rae was finally able to smile. She turned to face the dressing room door; if she wanted to she could just walk right past Lorne and Jazabell to leave right now. But she turned back to the mirror and closed her eyes again taking another breath. She couldn’t do that to Lorne after she told him that she would stay and try on at least one dress. So she began to undress and then turned to the dress again. It really was a beautiful gown so she slipped it on and stood there staring at herself in the mirror debating if she now really wanted to go out and show them.

As soon as Rae had slipped into the dressing room, Jazabell turned to look at Lorne, confusion and what looked to be anger in her eyes. Lorne could smell her emotions, her body sending off signals that his nose could catch though she could also tell, by the same method, that Lorne was uncomfortable and embarrassed. "I have already heard from your father about your new girlfriend." Jazabell stated in a calm and soft voice, Lorne looked away, anger growing. Did news really travel that fast? That made him quite upset with his father. "And don't expect me to not tell him that you haven't bound her yet. That is your responsibility. You are too old already to not be in a relationship. You need to pass on your blood." Lorne wasn't old by human standards at all but his family was obsessed with children and the fact that Lorne needed to pass along his genes. It was also a problem as Lorne got older, the harder it would be for him to have a child. He was capable of it his entire life but it would be harder for him to pass along the chromosomes that would line up with a humans DNA. Lorne could have a child with one of his own blood but most his age were already in relationships and his father wanted him to have a human spouse. They were apparently more reliable because they could be bound easier. Lorne didn't want any of this but there would be dire consequences for himself and Rae now that he had involved her.
"I just met her yesterday, goddammit! Lorne hissed, his pupils elongating slightly in his anger, Jazabell's responding in the same way as she could smell his anger and the slight fear of the repercussion he was expecting from her and his father. "You think that she would let me get that close to her in one day! I refuse to force myself on her. This will be her choice. If my father thinks that I will be scared into biting an unwilling being, he can think again." He whispered though there was venom in his tone. Jazabell sucked in though, looking as if she had been slapped, as his emotions turned from anger to remorse and sadness, guilt and rage mixed in. "You remember what happened the last time he did that." Lorne tried his best to get rid of the image of a cold and bloodied body, lying in his lap, out of his mind. His father had fixed it as if it had been nothing but Lorne, being a young teenager at the time had felt used and it had given him trouble ever sense. He refused to feed on living beings now unless he had too.
Jazabell looked as if she was trying to refrain herself from taking a bite out of Lorne, her eyes had gone from their dark brown to red, her eyes slitted sideways. "Go outside Jazabell, you havn't fed in a while have you. I will not have you endangering Rae." Lorne looked away and Jazabell grew angrier. With out saying a word she left to the back room, footsteps unheard. "She can have the dress if she wishes, tell her it is a gift." She called out as she disappeared through a doorway. Lorne shut his eyes and breathed, trying to calm himself. He would not let Rae see his eyes and mentality as they were.
