Cearuil smiled at Maria's kiss, though as usual it made him want to hold her there longer, despite the hour and the fact that they were still in a hall. He however gave her a raise of his brow. "Why apologize? It isn't your fault." He said, hoping she wasn't getting ready to think he blamed her for any of this. "And you know you'll always have me. No matter the outcome." He said, making that a very serious promise. He didn't know how he intended to keep her just yet, but he would find a way. ~~~ Daire hid his slight annoyance that Maria would go after Niamh over something. The girl was innocent in all of this and Maria had no place stirring trouble where trouble wasn't needed. He was distracted however when she touched his arm, as if in a reassuring way, it accomplished that much, making his attention focus back on the pretty woman in front of him. Her playful offer was one that made him smile, mostly because he wouldn't mind it in the slightest. In fact if he didn't have to leave her, he wouldn't. "It would be my pleasure." He said though he did look ahead and thought back on what she said about Cear. "Thank you for your words about my brother. Not many chose to...actually offer sound advice when it comes to him." He said since none really knew how to handle Cear properly.

"Not my fault no, but my families...Thank you Cear. I will do my best to stay worthy of that promise..." She said as she cast her eyes about the hall to make sure they were alone still. Some times people would go for walks at night in the halls and she didn't feel like having that sort of run in when she was with Cearuil. Wrapping her arms about his neck she pulled him in for another kiss. She figured he deserved that for his promise. When she pulled away she sighed contently smiling at him. "My Prince- how is it you are so incredible?" She asked in a cute joking tone- hew as however she was wanting to see him smile.

Niamh liked to see the Prince smile. It made her feel warm inside, though she had no knowledge of what was going on inside of his mind. It was something she had learned growing up as an assassin and something that she was very wary of but for some reason her usual barriers slowly melted away when she was with Daire. She had been taught that trusting others was a dangerous game, but here she trusted Daire with her secret and her abilities. It was something she chose to ignore though. It felt right to be with him, having a good friend. Pleased that Daire accepted to escort her the rest of the way down the hallway, she smiled some, looking to him as they made their way. Her smile softened some when he thanked her, Niamh shaking her head slightly. “Your brother is very stubborn but I feel that he is important to you and I don’t want you to lose out on that over disagreements.” She was looking at Daire now, her eyes bright if not a little sad. “In a way, he reminds me of my brother, of how he used to be when we were children.” She chuckled softly. “Even though I was the younger sibling, I often had to deal with my brother’s mistakes and I learned to take them as they came and help him through them instead of trying to prevent them from happening. It’s just not possible to control another and still let them be meaningful to you in some way.”

Cearuil smiled at her compliment though it drew a bit of a chuckle out of him. "I'm a prince. It comes in the birth right." He said equally joking before he leaned into her ear as to make sure she was the only one to hear his rather cheesy add on. "And because I have this beautiful woman to impress and care for." He told her, though he probably wouldn't have ever said that to any other woman, ever. Maria was the one and only that ever got to hear that he honestly loved her. ~~~~ Daire listened to her words of advice, his eyes on her as she poke. He saw the sadness there when she spoke of her brother and he remembered she told him that her brother had died at the hands of someone she thought to be in the city. He wished he could help in that search but finding an assassin was like finding a ghost. It wasn't easy and searching for anything related to one could stir some nasty accusations towards him and his family. Her advice however was sound and very true. Cear was his own man that needed to make his mistakes and deal with them, but Daire couldn't help but feel that his brother didn't think far enough to the consequences to see how much they affected those around him.but it was true...he couldn't control him. That was almost impossible. "I suppose I need to ease up on him. I am a bit better suited for fixing things than really preventing them." He admitted though that vision Calypso showed him was still fresh in his mind of his brother dying. He couldn't the frown that came to him but he didn't let it reach his voice as he spoke. "People are too hard to understand. I almost wish they was really as black and white as all of my tutors made them seem when I was younger." He said though that may have been viewed as off, seeing as people often saw him as the more personable and kind of the pair.

Her cheeks went a bit pink when he told her she was beautiful and he wanted to impress and care for her. It made her heart flutter a bit faster and the butterflies in his gut start rushing again. "Your too cute." She replied to him, leaning her head on his chest- happy to have his warm arms about her. She was content with this, if only things were as they were a day or so ago- she would be truly happy. She stayed there for a few moments before just barely whispering the words- it was more of a breath. She looked back up at him and spoke in his ear, that she loved him and no one would take her from him. Before looking content and taking his hand in hers as she headed towards her quarters. It was getting late and she did figure he wanted to sleep some time this overly eventful day.

“Black and white people would make for a boring life though, don’t you think?” Niamh said with a hint of a smile on her lips as she looked at Daire’s face. The dim lighting in the hall shadowed half of his facial features, making Daire seem almost dangerous. It gave Niamh’s heart a bit of a flutter and she looked away, embarrassed to be mixing such ideas in her mind. She knew he was an attractive man but he was the soon to be King and she had no right to be doing any more than appreciating the fact that her Crowned Prince was a pretty man and that he would have a pretty wife and make pretty children together.

Creauil squeezed her gently when she whispered to him about her love and staying with him. He liked having her close like this, the closest they could be without destroying the both of them. It was hard to remind himself of that as she pulled him along to no doubt her quarters. Even though she his he couldn't have her completely. That would be wrong of him, to drag her family through the mud if anything was ever discovered let alone ruin a chance for her at some form of a comfortable life, even if it was with the little coward and the bitch sister. He had to shake the thought off, since it almost seemed like a good idea to take her in any way possible so no one else could. He was selfish after all and couldn't help the fact that he almost didn't care about the consequences. "So what was that conversation with the dancer about?" He asked, his curiosity mainly because he knew the woman was an assassin and that he wasn't comfortable with her around Maria. He already had to tolerate her because of Daire, but he wouldn't have her bothering Maria. ~~~ Daire looked to Niamh, her smile pretty in the low light. Her words were very true, but if boring kept the ones he cared about safe then he would take it in a heart beat. Or at least he thought so till he reminded himself that she wouldn't be his brilliantly unique dancer anymore. She wouldn't be Niamh, the quirky, kind assassin that made him actually feel warm compared to the cold he felt being surrounded by people that didn't understand past a crown and a title. To lose that would certainly be a loss he didn't think he could rightly recover from. "True. What would I do if you were to ever change?" He said not even bothering to correct himself or add more. He knew fully well it wasn't right of him to say these things but really and truly he felt they were true. He wished he could be like his brother in so many instances like now, to just screw protocol and have something that made him happy, have someone that made him feel that way. But happiness was short lived, something one selfishly took that always had a price. Fate just didn't allow one to be truly happy....it always found a way to drown that light out when you least expected it.

She stopped walking when he asked about the dancer, She looked confused for a moment before it clicked-Niahm was who he was refereeing to. “Nothing, just some girl talk really, Honesty it wasn’t anything.” She said as she started walking again, her hand in his. She didn’t want to make him go back to his own chambers tonight- He probably would because he had a sense of honor but she would try to influence him- She was stuck betrothed to a spineless dog who wasn’t worth her time. The family would require a child- she however thought otherwise. If she had to have a child with anyone it would be her Cearuil- not Issaic. She knew she wasn’t going to have a child- if ever really- she was too careful about that. She swung their hands between them lightly and ignored that he had really asked about Niahm. “How about you stay and visit a while longer? Please- it would make me feel so much better my love.” She said her tone soft and low, not to be over heard by others as she hated being seen as weak by anyone other than Cearuil. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Vin sighed as he decided to call it a night and made a stand in take the patrol he as on. He was tired and was still working on a plan to handle the Twins and keep the Princes under control- now that was the hard part.

Niamh’s pace slowed some at Daire’s words, her eyes searching his face while her own went from shocked, to confused, and then to grateful. She smiled softly, her heart seeming to flutter all the way into her stomach at the words and she knew she shouldn’t read into them. He couldn’t have meant it in the kind of personal way she thought, right? “My Prince, I—“ She said, not using his name though the way she said it was overly fond, more friendly sounding than normal. “You are a very kind man, Daire.” She said, turning to him as they had reached her door. She thought of inviting him in for a drink before leaving, though she thought better of it instantly. “I hate to say it, but I think it is time to say goodnight.” She looked away from Daire for a moment before her eyes turned to his, though they were searching for some kind of meaning to his words from just moments before. Niamh was quite confused now and conflicted. She wasn’t sure what to think and was now a bit unsure as to what exactly he thought of their relationship. Niamh thought she knew what it was and wasn’t and she denied her mind the thoughts of what she wanted, but now…those thoughts tried to creep up inside of her mind and corrupt her friends only relationship that was already bordering on wrong in the eyes of society.

Maria's answer about Niamh wasn't a surprise and honestly it left his mind the minute she dismissed it. He knew she could take care of herself and besides, his time alone with her was going to be spent with her only and no one else in mind. He was content with that actually, especially since it seemed she was too. The swing of their hands from her brightened mood made him smiled slightly, glad to see she was back in a better state than she had been earlier that night. However her offer surprised him some. Not entirely the offer itself but mostly the fact she felt she had to give a sort of plea to get him to agree. Shouldn't she already know by now that he wanted nothing more than to not have to leave her? "As if I'd say no." He said, bringing her hand to his lips, kissing her fingers, loving the way her voice softened as though to save her pride. ~~~ Daire knew he probably shouldn't have said anything, especially when Niamh seemed to pause at that and gave him a very obvious look. He glanced at her, not speaking but just gauging her reaction. It was a mixture of things, the last being his favorite though her shock was cute. He wasn't sure exactly what he should mean by that and at least she seemed happy to hear it. That had been his intention. Her calling him 'my prince' made him feel important to her, but he had to say he preferred the way his name sounded on her lips. She called him kind and he almost wanted to scoff and tell her that was impossible. But he took the compliment, since it was from her and gave her one of his best smiles when she practically said she didn't want to say good night. "Don't worry. We'll see each other early tomorrow, all day in fact if that will make up for the good bye tonight." He said before giving her a half bow. "Good night Niamh. I look forward to tomorrow." He said before he was forced to turn away despite his urge to go back and stay with her.

She was more than happy with his answer as they approached her room, she unlocked the door and pull him inside with her. She had loved how he had kissed her fingers like he knew she was only cute’ and submissive to him. She locked the door because she was always like that- it wasn’t out of the ordinary for her to like being confidential and safe in her own rooms. She however pulled him over to the lounge and took a seat by him and smiled softly,” Let’s just imagine that today never happened. Our tea went delightful, my father was more than impressed at your ability to handle me and my tendencies to like weapons and military subjects. “She said in a joking tone she however wrapped her arms about his neck and looked a bit more content.

Niamh nodded in response to Daire’s little bow, smiling at his words. “Goodnight Daire. Sleep well tonight.” Niamh replied, using his name informally but feeling that their farewell was a rather informal one in and of itself. She watched him go and only entered her room once he had turned the corner, laying the dress box on a table in the room. She stripped and changed into clothing suitable for sleeping before taking a small dose of the medicine given to her by the doctor. She had done a lot today and needed her sleep, knowing that this would help she took it willingly. After crawling into bed, she fell asleep rather quickly, dreaming dreams that were forgotten quickly. The morning came quickly and she woke, feeling rather refreshed. She worried at first that she had woken up to late, but found that there was no one in the room trying to wake her. She rose from bed and cleaned herself up in the bathroom before unwrapping her ribcage to see what it was like. The bruises were splotchy and still looked rather unbecoming but every day they had faded some and now there were a large portion of them that were more yellow or green than purple or blue which made her feel like she was progressing quite nicely. She began to get her dress on, finding that it fit nicely on her and enjoying the feel of the fabric on her skin. She wondered the time and hoped that they would allow enough time for breakfast unless they were expected to eat on the way.

Cearuil let her take him by the hand and lead him into her room since he didn't have anywhere else he'd rather be. Who could say no to a woman that was quite literally saying 'screw the rules, spend time with me!'. He heard the door lock and saw the look on Maria's face as she pulled him to the lounge. He knew no one would look for him here. He was as good as invisible in his time with her now. Her words sparked a humor in him that colored his features a proud coyness. He liked the way her arms around his neck kept her close, the way her words were dismissive of reality in exchange for one that was better for them. In that reality there could be a chance for them to overlook their status and stay together, something he was willing to believe now since he didn't have to answer to anyone but her at the moment. "Oh really? Well I'm glad he approves of the cynical prince for his beautifully dangerous daughter." He said not minding his grip on her that snaked around her waist. "Hm what will I do with you?" He muttered, looking into her pretty eyes. ~~~ Daire woke that morning in a mood unparralled, mostly because today would be the day he would see progress with the case of his father's murder. He wouldn't deny that maybe this could all be a goose chase, but the hope he had that it wasn't kept him going. He dressed appropriately, his shirt a mixture of dark oceanic blues and a pretty silver that apparently was in style from what Serena said. He didn't mind, he rather liked the colors. But his mind did wander to Niamh and the idea of seeing her in the dress but shook it off when it made him smile to think he was the one that got it for her. She would enjoy today, he would make sure of that. He went to the kitchens asking if he could have something before they left. He wasn't sure if Niamh would join him but he hoped she would..

She giggled lightly at his words as he called himself cynical, however his tone changed a but when he muttered a questions as to what to do with her. She smiled in a coy manner and enjoyed the warmth she got from his arms about her waist. She thought of her words carefully as she looked at him. "He does like you my love, he is just clouded in his decisions..." She said leaning in and giving him a few soft kisses as she sorted a few thoughts out in her mind. She was thinking about how things escalated quickly today at tea and she hadn't been handling things well but now it was later in the evening and now she was playing pretend with the Prince. She felt immature and a bit conceited when she thought like this but no one asked her what she wanted to do so she figured play the games with who she wanted to until she got hauled off.

Once Niamh was happy with her appearance, having braided her hair more intricately than she had in a while, Niamh looked into the mirror one last time. Daire’s hair pin was shining brightly on the right side of her head, helping to keep her braid in place. His bracelet sat on her wrist nice and pretty like and Niamh smiled, hoping he would approve of her appearance. She did make her way to the kitchen, hoping that she would be in time for breakfast before being summoned, when to her surprise she saw Daire in the kitchen as well. She smiled brightly to him and moved near him. “Good morning Prince Daire.” She said, bowing slightly, her cheeks a touch pinker than normal. “Have you eaten yet?” She questioned, wondering if she would be allowed to eat with him.
