Katsuo caught a scent finally, one that smelled faintly of Ichiro. It was strange but bloodlines were easy to trace when you were around someone enough. And Katsuo had been around Ichiro enough, more than he liked, but enough that he could vaguely recognize the Shinoshi scent. To Katsuo they had a light scent, not an airy one like the Tengu, but a the scent of trees, wood from their homes and the mountains. It was weird in a way but he didn't try and understand the logic, he just followed what his senses. He rounded a corner, coming up on a room where he could hear someone working. He almost went inside but back pedaled when he opened the door and was attacked by the scent of the nasty water in the bath. He covered his nose, coughing as even his eyes watered. "Gosh damn it, did something die in there?" He hissed, just as a girl ran out of the room behind him. It was Sayuri little did he know. She had left her old uniform in the room with nasty bath since it was covered in sludge and had changed into a new uniform. "You, sir are you okay?" He didn't look at her and simply waved her hands away. "Get off me." Sayuri staggered away from the moody kitsune and gave him an annoyed look. "Fine." She sniffed as she walked off in the other direction with the towels she held as Katsuo caught his breath from the putrid air. ~~~~ It was a while before someone finally joined Hay, well after the man was able to enjoy something to eat. It was a man in richer clothing than that of the maid, his clothes a plain white with the trim of gold and hints of blue. Blue, white and gold after all were the families colors. The man bowed to Hay, though his face was a mask of serious composure. Even his movements were even precise and stiff, to the point he looked like a stone statue of warriors that stood outside the Ukiyo family home. His face showed age lines placing him at around his 50's along with his greying hair. "Welcome, I am Daichi Ukiyo. I have heard tell you are familiar with Ryuka Kaji." Hayate motioned for someone to join and Ryuka entered. Ryuka's eyes fell on Hay and he gave him an uneasy look at first before he confirmed that was the face he remembered from the memory. He bowed to Hay, his unease completely gone and he actually looked quite comfrtable there, much to Hayate's disaproval. "It's been a while, Shinoshi-san. It's nice to see your alive and well." He said and Daichi cleared his throat. "Yes yes. Now let's get down to buisness, we're very busy as it is. You can catch up later." Daichi looked to Hay his eyes narrowing a bit. He had heard of this man's family ties and instantly that set him to a dislike. "How can the Ukiyo clan help you, Sir...Hay Shinoshi correct?"

Hat smiled when his old friend walked in and looked oh at ease by his appearance and smile back at him with a nod. " Yes thank you sirs, I am indeed Hay Shinoshi thought I have cut my ties because of the hostile take over, young lord Ichiro has slaughtere his family for power so I have taken my leave. I was hoping to be employed by a house that promotes peace as well as security since my past home was more a war zone and a mess than anything other. The gods there are at war and I fear for many..." he said his short peace though he knew that it was all the but there was always a underlying cause to every thing a warrior does.

Diachi gave Hay a rather snarky tisk that even Ryuka responded to with a rather pericing glare towards the old man. "We have heard of the Shinoshi's problems but the Ukiyo hardly have to time or necessity to worry what goes on in that household of death." Ryuka gave Daichi a serious look, almost like an adult looking at a child. "Ukiyo-san, the Shinoshi have a large affect on our family. After all, our families protect a sacred balance. Regardless of your belief, it is very important we are respectful and are cogniscent of their family." Daichi looked to Ryuka and gave him a sniff of dissaproval. "Hm, so you expect me to believe a loyal Shinoshi warrior would betray his family by coming to their sworn enemy for work?" He looked then to Hay and gave him a look of complete distrust. "I know your kind are loyal to the end, honorable in a sense. We want someone who is loyal to the Ukiyo, our Goddess Amaterasu. How can we be sure you can be loyal?"

Hay let the man speak his peace and Shed his disapproval as he expected of him. "Though I am of Shinoshi blood and deity, that does not mean I can not be trusted, If you require a task of me , then say it already because I had to execute my old commander, just I order to survive....I have suffered my trials sir." he said in a serious tone as he stairs at the man, his eyes barely flickering to the other man. He didn't care what they honestly thought, he was loyal and be never lied, only if he needed to ensure his safety, which was never really threatened.

The room was silent a moment, Daichi watching Hay for a moment. He was thinking things through, pondering his choice in trusting a Shinoshi. The man was certainly careful, brave enough to venture this far, or stupid, and he seemed to be telling the truth. Ryuka had a sense Daichi was reaching some understanding. The man was stubborn as a mule but not an idiot. That and the man followed the teachings of Amaterasu, the whole accepting all living things, trust amongst brothers and such... He gave a small huff, before rubbing his forehead. "Goddess spare me for admitting this to a conplete stranger, but yes, we have tasks and things that needed to be tended to here, in our land." He looked to Ryuka who nodded in agreement at Daichi speaking further. "Not that I totally am sold on trusting you...you seem like a man with skill, and I will not dishonor that." He motioned for someone at the door to enter and in came a guard with a scroll. Daichi took the scroll and pulled it open before planting it on the table. It was a list of names, and a detailed sketch of the Ukiyo province, a red mark over one farm home not far off from the main city. "Bandits have taken up just outside our city. They threaten merchants coming to the main city to sell their wares, taking away from our peoples supplies. If you can travel with some of our trusted men, deal with the problem, I will reconsider you, in regards to your abilities shown...not the name. Sound like a deal?" He said with a high handed tone.

Hay studied the man and a smile came over his lips when he read over the list and the detailed sketch. If bandits were their worst they had to throw at him he was more than already in. He nodded," Very well, we have a deal sir. I appreciate the generosity of the Ukiyo household." He said. "However who will I be traveling with? I prefer a small company if not just going alone...I am more than confident in my abilities as I have served in many wars." He was looking at the other man now, his old friend as he knew that he would vouch for him on that level since he had fought with and against him before.

Daichi didn't know wether to be relieved, angry, or worried by Hay's complete confidence. But trusting was to be earned, not won by appearance for the Ukiyo. Ryuka gave Hay a knowing look, nodding ever so slightly to show that he was on the right track of gaining approval. "It is not that I doubt you. I'm simply concerned on how the situation will be handled, should a representative of our family is not there." Daichi motioned to Ryuka. "Since you two seem to know one another, will Kaji-san suffice for simply an ally?" He said but Ryuka gave Daichi a quick raise of his brow. "My orders are to protect Kaiya-hime. I cannot leave premises-" "And protect you shall. However, Hime is currently preparing to commune with the Goddess as of now. You're service to her will be suspended while the ritual takes place, therefore you will have freedom to leave." Ryuka gave a bow of his head, an action of respect toward Daichi, but he did look tense. Leaving Kaiya unprotected just so she could communicate with some Goddess. It went against everything he as a warrior believed but he couldn't argue Ukiyo tradition. That's what made the family this strong... --- "Ryuka?" Kaiya called, her eyes trying to see into the dark room of the records area. Normally she could find Ryuka there amount the many scrolls of information if he suddenly disappeared. but today there was no Ryuka to be found. Kaiya frowned lightly as she walked further into the room, her eyes crossing the shelves, scanning row upon roll of the dusty papers that the light pouring in from the door allowed her to partially distinguish. She noticed some looked older than others the further away from the entrance she got, even some appeared ready to crumble to dust. She moved along the shelves with no purpose really, except for the inkling of curiosity that drove her forward. It seemed she felt the need to explore today, to discover what secrets this place might hold. A little further in, Kaiya noticed a room, or at least something that appeared to be a room by the slight outline of a door frame. Kaiya touched the door frame lightly and found a black cloth, shrouding most of its entrance. Kaiya pushed the cloth aside ready to enter when suddenly she felt a touch to her shoulder. Kaiya jumped an quickly whirled around to see a servant of her advisors there. "Kaiya-Hime. Please follow me to the temple. The priestesses require your presence for the ritual." Kaiya gave a quick nod to the servant as she tried her best to still her heart. She would just have to wait to see what was in the back room.

Hay nodded," He is more than suffice, thanks you sir. When shall we head out?" He asked his tone almost eager to be done with this. He didn't have any love for bandits but he also didn't care for menial tasks such as this but if it kept him where he needed to be then so be it. He looked over his old friend, seeing that he was a few years older , he looked about the same, and just as dangerous as ever.

Daichi stood and gave him a bow as her rose. "I will allow you two to decide. Please make haste with your plan. We'd like this finish before the Moon Festival." Daichi left and Ryuka Gave a sigh. "Sorry, your welcome was less than sympathetic." He said with a smile and gave Hay a small bow. "I am glad to see you are well even in all the madness your family has been exposed to. I'm open to helping you solve this situation at you convenience." he said before he rose.

Thank you, however I am more than capable at surviving family problems since all they do is fight. Like cats and rats in the same house... its not convenient. I am ready to travel as you are...I was---" He stopped speaking when he felt something soft rub against her hand that was towards the ground, looking down it was a soft fox, its golden fur brushed to a shimmer, its collar was a bold Red with golden letter of it's owners name. He smiled, glancing back up to his friend," I was more than prepared to leave if the opportunity arose." He still had his hand there as he took the note from the fox, it curled up in a ball and layed at his feet, knowing to wait for a response. He slipped the letter into his sleeve and was going to wait to read it.

Ryuka gave a bit of a nodd at Hay's response. He had never dealt with the Shinoshi, or at least he didn't remember if he had, but so far he heard things for them were not the best at this time. Hay had been in the process of speaking when something suddenly entered, something that even evaded Ryuka's notice. He took a step back when he saw the animal and frwoened when he noticed it was a fox. A smell hit him that made Ryuka slightly uneasy. He didn't understand the feeling so he simply dismissed it, assuming this was Hay's pet or something. "Then we will leave shortly...Meet me at the front grounds when you can." He said before he left. He still wanted to check on Kaiya before he left, to make sure she didn't need him before he left her. ~~~ Sayuri frowned slightly to herself, grumbling about the pain in her back from all the work. She'd never worked a day in her life, or at least not like this. Learning to fight was alot different than scrubbing floors. She was exhausted, mentally and spiritually. She wasn't even sure how long her spirit could minfest itself visible like this. If she was lucky the demonic aura of this place could keep her soul strong, just till she could leave strong enough and find at least another host. She walked along one of the last halls, her eyes falling slightly shut as she struggled with her exhaustion. She was just about to open one of the screens when something caught the corner of her eye. It was a shadow, a deep and intricant shadow that shouldn't have been there in broad daylight. She looked over but there was nothing there. She gave a sigh, assuming it was just her imagination. ~~~ Kaiya was trembling, her hands gripped nervously into fists at her sides. She was walking along the cobbled path with the other priestesses to the temple of Amaterasu. As far as she understood, her job for them today was to simply commune with the goddess over the matters with the Shinoshi. Kaiya couldn't help the fear that quaked though her at the thought. Not that she wasn't devoute to the goddess and protecting her. It was just...there was something very real and scary about becoming a vessel for communicating with a god...the pressures were large and the responsibilites great. Besides, it was not something that she asked for. She didn't want her gifts, and to use them felt wrong to her... But it was for the good of her people, the priests often reminded her. So she would do this for the people, only for the people...

When he left the room he waited a few moments looking down at the fox, reaching down and placing it in his lap, stroking its soft fur. It didn't mind, so he reached down to opened the letter, seeing that on it was Hitaro's clear hand writing, even the simple swirls she added for her closing initial for her mark. It was simple enough, asking him how he was fairing on his journey, if he reached where he was going and if he needed help in anything. He smirked,'she was bored already'. Kitsune like her were always bored when not given something to do. He smiled, placing the note in his bag and placed the fox back on the floor, it looked a bit unsettled but it padded after him as he went back to his possessions. He knew he couldn't write a letter but he knew he had time so he simply waited where designated and leaned up against a wall and nodded off, he was exhausted but he wouldn't admit it to any one. The fox was curled up in his lap and when any one got close it growled at them, making sure all this things were fine.
