"Faith? Very few have that anymore... If you want something done, most people are influenced by us- guided in a way. Only we must some times stoop to their level for their understanding- thought some are over our own understanding, are above our own judgement- so its almost useless to have faith in them- they are like cattle..." His voice was a sweet flower as he spoke mean things about the human race but that's what he teaching of the goddess taught deep down threw all the translations after centuries of studying that's the conclusion he himself had learned. "Will you do me a lasting favor my dear? Since you have taken this from the start I want you to finish this and see the task threw, if you can teach this human to have 'faith', I shall tell the goddess of your honorable works on the surface world and praise you for a hundred years to come... How about it? I have faith in you Little One..." His last bit was very sugary knowing it would sucker her, but in her confusion he wasn't sure how she was going to come threw this, she was an angel but a very confused one at the moment so she would try for him. She always tried to please him when he asked she simply acted for him, he liked that type of obedience, he knew why the Goddess did.

Twila was off her game at the moment so she didn't take his words exactly the way she normaly would have. Priorly she would have said something along the lines of "But Lucian the goddess taught us to have faith in everyone and it's wrong just influnce them instead of make their own choices"....But now she could only listen and found herself taking in what he said for consideration. He was her mentor after all. He had lived longer than her, seen more, and study more. She was his young student and still had yet to experience this world really. What he was saying could be true... She blinked however and snapped out of her thought at his request. She looked shocked and infact she was startled down to her core by it. "Faith?--Him? But Jack hurts people, Lucian--I couldn't possibly--" She was slammmed to a halt in her rambling by mention of Lucian's faith in her. That's right....faith. she needed to have faith in this mortal, hope that he could change for the better. She needed to have faith in herself to try and help him. It was her job as an agel to see that the goddess's will be done. But she would work to help in anyway she could. She observed him a long moment before a small determination, her usual fire came to her look. "A-Alright. I believe I can, if it is for the goddess and you." She still looked uneasy however. "So I must stay here? Alone with nothing?" She asked since she had never had this ever cross her mind.

An almost greedy smile came over his lips for a moment, but it changed to a sweet smile," I shall help you, You can stay here, however you need to keep that human away from his target for at least 2 more days...that's when her death will befall her. The temple will let you stay without question. However you must change this human and make him see the error of his ways and make him repent unto the great Goddess. I have faith in you, So I'll be back in two days..." He said with a smile then gave her a light kiss on her forehead in a farewell. He was sure it would seal the deal with her being there and him not having to just cart the human off.
~-----------------------------------------------~ In the morning Jack woke up stiff necked, having fallen asleep in his office chair. He headed down stair after he got dressed, wondering exactly hew as going to do today after his morning ritual. Glancing at the things in the house he remembered a lot of it belonging to his old man,The family said he passed away. John however wasn't accepting that answer. He was still around some where the family wouldn't show the body, so he was skeptical. The metal polished tea trays along the wall in the hallway on a matching cart was dusty, he neglected his house form time to time, but that happened when one was too busy. Passing some more things he went into the kitchen and cooked a light breakfast of toast and eggs, some tea as well, before he simply put the dishes in the sink. A walk would come next, out into White Chapel- it was nice and the air was crisp in the morning and he simply had nothing further to do right now so he figured he would take a long much needed stroll outdoors today.

The warmth from Lucian's lips on her forehead sent a feeling of confidence through her that she felt she had lost earlier. If Lucian could believe in her, that she needed to believe more in herself. She had never interacted with a mortal this much and to be honest, she never actually considered it. But now she was give the task of possibly saving someone, actually giving them hope for something better. It warmed her heart to think that she had the power to help someone in dire need. Her bright mood had returned some, to point she was smiling brightly as she went over to talk to a priest. A bit of a wait later and she had her own room, one that sat high in one of the the round towers that protruded from sides of the temple. She thanked them kindly before she allowed herself to be alone. The moment the door shut she felt the charm over her wings slipping to the point she could feel them tugging at her back when they finally reappeared. The angelic glow to her skin returned only a moment later, leaving her true self exposed to only the confines of this room. She looked up for a moment and wondered to herself what the Heavens must look like tonight. She could see every star in the sky up there while here it was all covered by the cities fire light and some up and coming mills. Her eyes shut momentarily and she allowed her wings to drift out in a stretch. She knew she couldn't fly here, not where she could be seen, but that didn't make the prospect any less tempting. Her wings fell short of their full span because of the size of the room but at least she could feel them shaking off the rust in a sense from a few hours without use. A yawn escaped her lips as the day caught up with her. Her prior lack of sleep and now fueled her to move toward the bed. In one flawless move, the dress was off and on the floor, any dirt and damage literally repelled by the holy aura of the fabric. She curled up on the small single bed but just couldn't get comfortable till finally she decided to try something. Her wing fell across her body, shielding it from view and cold as she tried to sleep. The subtle warmth changed the dynamic, so much so she found herself drifting off to sleep without further thought: --- Twila awoke slowly as the sun began to make its appearance. Her wings were still limp as she struggled to wake and the limbs in her body felt oddly uncoordinated. Finally she sat up, her long black waves falling back into place, much like her ruffled feathers. She stood up a moment allowing the suns ray to warm her as she pulled her dress back on. She felt wide awake by the time she was dressed, enough so that when she casted the charm to turn her appearance more human it fell into place almost instantly. On her way down the temple stairs she saw people milling about, priests and regular humans going about their daily lives. She would like to have stayed to observe this temple a little more but she was more curious about the world outside. Before she left however she was stopped by a female worshiper and offered an apple from the many she had brought as offering to the goddess. Twila was hesitant at first to accept it, mostly because angels did need mortal food to survive. It was easy to say angels didn't have any of the mortal necessities, a gift from the goddess for their purity. They never starved, never were exhausted, and never got sick and never died. It was what set as immortal. Now that did not mean they did not need rest. Using soul energy could be taxing so they went into a coma like sleep to regenerate. She knew by tonight she would be running on low, so she would most likely have to sleep to recharge her energy once more so that she could continue to appear human. After much pleading she took the apple and went outside to the main plaza. Things were livening up here, but not by much. The lack of a crowd left Twila to be amazed by the mortal place. She looked around at the beautiful buildings and the pretty streets, at the people in their strange clothing and stores that sold strange things. She was soon entranced at this different, prettier mortal world she had found in the daylight. Her fascination drove her away from the temple and over to a few shops nearby. She looked in one of the windows of a bakery and marveled at the cakes and foods on display. All of them were hand painted and frosted making each look like a painting rather than a piece of bread. The next window she crossed had dresses of all sizes and colors, two of which were displayed in the high vaulted window. Twila was lost in why women would want to wear such puffy things but she had to admit they were quite pretty. Soon she found a shop that really caught her eye, to the point it made her smile. It was a small pawn shop that had everything from toys to jewelry crammed in its display. She looked with childlike fascination at everything there, the large sewn bear making her giggle at its adorable button eyes and the strange feathered hat making her think of her poor black wings being plucked for something like that. Finally her eyes fell on a pocket watch, a smaller sized one made of gold. The detail on its face was amazing, hand sculpted lattice and wing like cut outs cascaded across the cover along with pretty intertwining cloud like swirls. It was gorgeous and for some reason it called a certain man's face to mind.... She blinked at her sudden thought of Jack but she believed that she had simply remembered she was suposed to "distract" him today aswell. How exactly she planned to do so when she really had no idea where he would be right now, she had mo idea. She knew he lived in Kent across the river, right? Perhaps she could use a bit of her sould energy to seak him out? But that could also mean that she might lose the energy concentrated on hiding her wings. As she weighed her options, she looked at herself in the reflection of the glass. From what she saw there, she looked human. Not completely so, or at least to the trained eye. She still had that vivacious glow to her skin and her eyes were still their natural indigo. Though having her wings absent really did change her appearance alot. She touched the place in the reflection where they would be and she felt a small smile coming to her at the sight. My, she really did look human didn't she? It was a new feeling for her, a different one. She hardly knew how to respond to it exactly but she couldn't shake the smile that was on her lips.

A thought struck him to see if the young lady was still at the temple, he wanted to walk by just to see- if she wasn't then he would drop it he decided. He asked a priest only to find she wasn't there, he let out a sigh as he walked away towards the shops just down the way, feeling a little disappointed since he got his hopes up. Looking about the shops, he stopped and smiled-he saw the very girl he was looking for. Checking out her appearance in the window of a pawn shop. "Well Miss, it seems I have stumbled into you yet again. I hope everything was sorted out?" Since he had left her at the temple after all he was sure they took good care of her since that's what they did best. He noticed that she was looking herself over like she was missing something, not that she was a missing anything but she could be a little strange in the head for all he honestly knew.

As if the goddess herself was paying attention to Twila's wishes, she heard a familiar voice behind her one that made her gleeful smile shine back at her from her reflection. She turned to look at Jack, still smiling despite her knowledge that he was still a point of interest. 'Remember have faith in those who need it most.' She thought letting her hope remain firm. He had not harmed the girl yet and still there was a chance for him to be forgiven. She was going to do her damnedest to help him, even if it meant she must stay here these next few days. The human world wasn't all that bad, she just felt that she didn't quite fit there however. It was hard for a soul that was no longer a part of that world to return. It left her with almost a sense of nostalgia that she couldn't quite place. "Jack, good morning." She pulled away from the window and went over to him with a happy sway in her step. Hm, it seemed she would have to come up with something to tell him about last night. Well, she could be partially honest. "I got to see my friend again. I'm sure he would be grateful to you for helping me." She wasn't sure about the last bit. Lucian tended to avoid the human's unless it was on business. He already told her he thought of them as misguided cattle, something she just couldn't see. The human's may be beings with rather narrow minds but they had potential. That was all it took to make a very big change. Much like Jack in this case... "It seems I'm going to be in the area a little longer than I expected. The trouble is I still don't know my way around, as you witnessed last night." She said with a bit of feign embarrassment. Not that smacking right into a man purposefully wasn't a bit embarassing but he didn't know that portion of the story. "Would you care to join me in a small adventure around a few of the sights? I promise to stay out of the bad places this time." She said with a small bit of humor on her part towards him.

He nodded to her and smiled,"Good good. Well if you would Like I can show you around...I'm sure you might like a guide." He smirked accepting her offer to show her about. "You might want a jacket, It will be getting chilly this Morning. Come we shall start with the gardens just around the corner here." Just up the walk a bit there was a few police and a lot of tape keeping citizens away. 'So they finally found them...about time' It was still early however they couldn't move the bodies just yet without the courts officials agreeing. There was one girl- the first he was very careful on, took extra measures to cut up all nice. Having emptied her body cavity complete and kept them put away in fluid beneath his floor boards, and the other one who had begged for mercy and was praying-He let her be unharmed-she was a human with faith so he kept her body whole for the after life. He had come up with the idea for the next victim by the last two murders since he was wanting to make a good point. As they passed he smiled, knowing that he was working well and quickly and still was unable to be caught- even if he went in front of the police- they had nothing on him. He was near untraceable as he was meticulous in his work.

Twila looked pleased that he agreed, sending a silent thank you up to whoever was helping out her luck today. She followed in step next to him, though her attention wandering all over the place. She was trying to take everything in, the new sights and sounds. It was was all so new that her curiousity was having a hay-day. Questions bubbled to the tip of her lips about the things she saw and what some things were. She thought for a moment about asking Jack, but decided against it. It wasn't best if she let on just how foreign she was to all this. It could cause him not to trust her in the least, whch would make her job harder. As she contemplated everything that buzzed around in her head, she hardly noticed her surroundings till they became level with it all. The atmosphere suddenly took a plunge and she could feel a tight, airless feeling in the air. Emotions raged in the air, mixes of fear and sadness, desperation... Her senses were like live wires at this point and she knew if her wings were out they would be tensed and poised for her to take off. Something was very very wrong in this place. A chill ran up up her spine, causing her to shiver visibly to the point she stopped walking a moment. Her composure failed her and she had a hard time shaking the smell of death from her. She was suposed to be an immortal, a powerful being accustomed to death, and yet she couldn't control her emotions around it. She looked down hididng her expression from Jack, mostly because she caught his smile. Did he have something to do with what she just sensed from that place? "Sorry I think I'm already starting to feel the chill in the air." She said looking up at him with a slightly more guarded attempt at pleasantry. She was trying to shake the feelings that still lingered, but she could feel them starting to pass the further she got from the area. She fell back into step next to him and patiently followed to the garden space that was set aside for the enjoyment of the city. Her curiousity was peeked by the pretty flowers there, the appearance of pretty purple roses seeming to lift her mood. She smiled at the appearance and looked to Jack. "There aren't flowers like these at my home. Though there should be...they're such pretty things." She said without really much thought about it. She really did think flowers would be pretty with clouds. She would have to mention it to David some time. Perhaps he could find a way to let them survive in the sky.

He followed on with Twila enjoying the sickened comments by some passersby. He knew what he did and some understood his point thought others raved about innocents- what did they know of innocents. He smiled a normal smile when she mentioned the roses- they were indeed pretty however he didn't care for them- they reminded him of his old job- they had a small rose garden outside his old office. His office has a window that opened to the small garden, however that was the garden that he found another teacher raping a student. The very same garden that he used to read and sing to the girls, the younger ones as they were learning to read and to speak proper English. Singing songs helped them learn to prnounce their words. "Yes, they are pretty, however I prefer the bleeding hearts to roses..." Since he liked how the heart shaped flower smelled not for its name or shape but the sent- it was light yet sweet- with a very faint taste of bitterness.

Twila had never heard of a flower like that. It interested her quite a bit, mostly because she was curious about anything new. "They sound nice. Can you show me one?" She asked, as she observed some of the other flowers. She didn't think it was too much to ask. In fact she thought it was a good way to keep talking. He could always tell her no if he didn't want to do something, not that she wouldn't ask for a reason. It was just her nature to be active in exploring things around her. People around caught her eye and she noticed most of the women here wore those frilly dresses so much more different than what she saw in the red light district. Men were even dressed nicely though not as colorfully as the women. She also noticed they carried themselves differently. She observed herself and couldn't decide if she quite fit in. Her clothing was easily misconstrued as foreign but rich and she felt people didn't see much else besides her physicality that was up to par with nobel society. She couldn't quite see why people really cared about image when in the end it was your soul that mattered. It seemed rather silly to her.

He smiled at her curiosity," Of course. This way..." He walked with her and noticed her looking about at the people and how they were dressed and such. He smirked," If you ask me, you are dressed better then them. You speak better then most and have better manners." He commented knowing she was going to understand it. She was an odd girl only she liked that she was out of the usual. When they came to the flower shop he spoke to the salesmen and bought a bleeding heart for Twila. "Here my dear... A bleeding heart. I hope it enraptures the beauty I see in it as its name does to its image." He handed it to her, he smiled, knowing she was trying to figure him out least night, she was going to have to play by his rules to get any good worth while answers.

Twila wasn't sure where he was taking her since he left the garden. The flowers were back there and yet he seemed to be leading her further away from them. He surprised her by saying that she was a step above the people she saw around her. She didn't quite understand how he came to that conclusion seeing as she was totally different from all of them on so many other ways. She took the compliment with a smile, though she was busy trying to understand him a bit more. He was a very tough person to read, not just because she just met him. He went into a shop that was covered in a bunch of flowers that were different than the ones she had seen. They came in all colors here, something that dazzled her sight. She was more curious however that he spoke to a person there who brought back a flower that dangled from a stem. It was gorgeous in color, a very vibrant pink with hints of red. The lower bell like part of the flower was a brilliant white which was a very vibrant contrast. The coolest thing was, it looked like a heart. "It's beautiful. Thank you." She muttered as she took the small bulb in her hands. She lightly carressed the spetal and smiled at how soft and silky it felt. Her face though portrayed that she was stilling mulling something over before she looked to him. "That was very poetic, Jack. You have a gift for speaking you know. Though I must admit it makes it rather hard to see your intentions." She all but called him cryptic, since she understood only what he was allowing her to. His way of speaking was honest but was very much shrouded with enough mist to leave one wondering if they heard him correctly or misconstrued his words. It was a hard situation to follow up on, especially when she needed to understand his real feelings if she was ever going to help like she wanted to. "So I want to ask, is there more I should know about you, the gentleman who kindly aided me yesterday, Jack who lives in Kent?" She asked trying her luck at persuasion. She didn't see herself as crafty and to be honest she couldn't pull off allure or girlish charm.

He smiled at her," Why thank you miss. I do try to keep my skills up to par with others of a like mind, however to simply tell you about myself will make for an equivalent exchange to be placed...To know about me is to know about yourself."He was smiling at her pleasantly knowing she was trying to understand him once again, however he wanted to know about her because she wasn't exactly normal. "However I will start If that's what you wish- I am very honest- so I will be expecting the same of you." He stopped to look in a shop window on old clocks, looking at the fine craftsmanship. The fine engraving and the meticulous work they makers took to make them perfectly balanced.

Twila's brow furrowed a bit when he spoke of equivalent exchanges. So, for information he wanted information? It seemed like a fair trade for humans to make, but in this situation it wasn't. She had more to lose in this situation than he did. She couldn't be sure what he would ask her and if it came down to her origin's how would she answer him without giving too much away? 'Lucian told me this would require a skill in speech...' She thought and considered her options. She couldn't very well say no now, not if she wanted his trust. So that left no choice. She'd just have to get crafty and careful. Play his game with words just as well. She could do it, she had to, if she really wanted to help anyone. "That's all I really can ask for-- your honesty. And for it, I will give you mine, to the best of my ability." She said, being upfront that she would be honest with him, or as honest as she could be, as she was sure he had the same perameter set. She moved beside him and looked at the clocks with some curiousity. It reminded her of the pocket watch she had seen and she wondered if she hadn't been too far off on him liking something like that. Not that she would entertain that thought, but it was a curiousity for her. "First, might I ask why it is someone would call you Jack if your name is John? It's confused me terribly." Her first question was rather a docile one since she first was trying to understand a bit more of this culture. In the clouds angels were always addressed by their names or called each other 'brother' or 'sister'. Though she had to say, John looked like a Jack to her for some reason. Perhaps that was the reason?

He didn't' visibly listen however his lips moved as he looked at the designs on the coo coo clock he liked," Its a nick name acquired from a hobby of mine. I don't leave my house too much since I got fired. And you Miss- Why do you pretend to have an escort when none exists? Please spare me the back ground- where we come from is irrelevant. " He said this in a soft tone knowing that she wasn't from there and he knew these things because of his recent acquaintances. No one was what they seemed when they found an interest in him since he may have a nice look about him but he was deep in sin. Even humans', like this girl who found interest in him was always superficial- no matter how innocent it seemed.
