((It's perfect lol now for some more drama!!!))
Twila observed Lucian, his words seeping past her warped feelings and in to the core of her being. This was her mentor's wish, her chance to be forgiven for the terrible mistake she made. He had a right to be angry with her. She was angry with herself for believing she could actually do some kind of good here. She was starting to question wether or not mortals had any good left in them.
Making up what little of her mind she could, she got to her feet, her expression strong though her hands still gave a light shake. she was determind to see this part through, no mistakes, no more childish hope. She was going to grow up from this experience and see to it she never failed again. She looked Lucian in the eyes, her resolve showing past the forced composure
."Yes mentor. I will follow you till whatever end awaits."~~~~~~~~~~~~
Twila learned of Jack's death through David, while she was helping him sort through the record one cold afternoon. She had known that Jack was dying from injuries sustained by Lucian's blades, not by drowning like the humans beleved. She couldn't explain how he ended up in the Thames, but she had recalled what he had said to her about it being his favorite place.
After that day she seldomely went into the Hall of Records. Her training had begun shortly after she had rejoined her companions in the heavens. It took close to 300 years before she was admitted into the rank she had been appointed and since then she had taken to mastering her skills.
In the process of studying under Michael she learned she possessed a unique control over and ability called a soul fire. It was a white hot energy that came from the soul that was used to destroy tainted souls. It was a very rare gift, but also very unstable. If not properly prepared or focused, it could spiral out of control and cause more harm to innocents within a certain range of area. Michael had refered to it as the 'Touch of Chaos' due to the danger it possesed that out weighed the benefits.
She seldom attempted to use the ability and took to more ethical measures when dealing with her enemies. Dealing with tainted souls by hand was a nasty business and very rarely ended up in them actually being destroyed and not just banished to the Hell. But it was better they were there than threatening the living, trying to corrupt them and consume their souls.
The world of the living was rapidly changing though the heavens stayed relatively the same. Other than the addition of the gate keeper Pathiel and a current stirring of power in Hell, thing didn't seem to grow quite like the human world did.
Twila had watched it from afar, seeing the changes morph from simple pituresc cities and farm land to being busy highways and modern cities. People began to dress funnier and spoke new words. Modern guns took the place of blades and it seemed crime rose to an all time high. Twila had watched the simple world she hadn't understood change into the complex life style that baffeled her too much to even try.
Sure she knew the basic things like the motorized carriages and the wierd little boxes people talked to like they were human beings and this amazing thing called modern electricity that powered lamps in homes and on streets. She also had the pleasure of seeing indoor plumbing come about which greatly helped White Chapel and the Thames. It was no clearer but it did smell alot better.
It wasn't long before the crime however began to surface more frequently across the globe, leaving little time for the major place of the Goddess's belief to not be their major worry. America had become a set of their worry requiring yet another split of authority for that region.
Twila herself, David and Micah handled that region while the others kept an eye on their sets of the world.
Lucian seemed to stay in Europe making it harder for her to see more of him. He had been her rock these past few years and had let her grow exponentially past her childish state and into a more refined immortal.
By that she meant she was now not as easily swayed by the mortal's and she learned the truth about their souls. They were all a bunch of misguided little sheep, when one wandered from the herd it was the guardian angels job to put them back into place. When that failed and they were taken by the wolves, or demons influence, they were to be dealt with by the archangels. It was all a system. A well oiled machine, that kept the eath turning, time continuing and life moving on.

A shriek pierced the usual noise of the city streets as a young woman ran into an alley. She had escaped the clutches of a group of men that had tried to harm her. Most would question why a woman her age would be out at this time of night, wandering the streets of the ghetto, but then again they didn't know her life.
She was a mother, two kids, one with a severe form of Luekemia. Due to the prices and bills of her daughters medical expenses she was forced to leave their home in a nicer part of town just to have a roof over their heads. She worked 4 jobs and bussed her children to the nearest shool while her daughter was in the hospital. She prayed and prayed for their safety to the goddess but never thought to wish for hers.
She made it to the end of the alley, only to find that there was a dead end. She panted in fear but knew she had left the men in the dust. They had taken her purse and most likely wouldn't follow her this far.
A scrapign noise behind her caused a frightened screech to leave her before she turned to search the dark. Nothing was there, only darkness pooled where the street lights couldn't reach. She trembled in place, slowly trying to ease her way out of the alley. Before she could get around the first pool of darkness, a large murky shadow hurdled itself at her. She was knock to the ground in a screaming fit as a creature made of pure shadow tried to consume her. She could feel an icy pain shooting through her body where the creature touched and scratches showed up on her skin where it clawed at her past her fighting.
Before the thing could sink its perfectly nailed hand into the woman's chest a light hit the thing, sending it to the ground a few feet away.
The woman, in a terrified daze, tried to scramble away but ended up runnning into a cloaked figure.
"Stay put. Don't try to run or it will follow you." A voice warned, female by the sound of it but it was so clear and calming, almost like soothing water.
The woman couldn't move as she watched the cloaked figure dawn a sword and started hacking away at the shadowy creature. It fought back but to no avail, due to the fact that when it tried to touch to cloaked person it was hit with a burst of light so powerful it blinded the woman momentarily.
She blinked and past the spots in her vision she saw a circle of flames consume the creature. The woman couldn't muster a scream, mostly because a feeling of instant relief filled her. The thing that was trying to hurt her was gone, the person left...this person was trying to save her.
The cloaked figure turned watching the woman for a moment before it put the sword away.
"You're safe. It has gone back to hell where it belongs." the person walked over to her and knelt infront of her. A gentle glow radiated form the person's hand touched to woman's cheek and she felt an instant warmth was over her from the touch.
"You are a good person. The goddess praises your souls purity. Do not forget your faith, for it has and always will protect you." The woman nodded lightly but the movement suddenly made her very dizzy. She colapsed into the waiting arms of the cloacked figure, the last person she saw before everything went black.

"Twila, for goddess's sake what took you so long?" David snipped when he saw the angel enter the Records Hall. Twila didn't want to be in there necessarily but she had to check in with David to let him know things were alright with the current soul in danger.
"Sorry brother, I wanted to bring the woman home safely.""You were seen!" "Heavens no, I knocked her out and traveled by light. She should wake up tomorrow and not remember a thing." Twila said, her smile polite but also a bit prideful. Yet another job well done on her part.
"Not the woman! I mean those thugs you beat to hell and back. They're claiming Batman beat them up and stole their purse and all their wallets." She didn't show David but on the inside she was giggling. Those bastards had it coming and she just returned the favor by making them compensate the woman for taking her hard earned money and to donate to the temple of the goddess down town.
"I don't know what a Batman is but I did what was right." She told him only recieving a shake of David's head. She'd love to stay and hear him lecture her about morality but she had to meet with Lucian today. He had something he wished to speak with her about.
Twila said goodbye to David quick and took her leave. A skip was in her step as she traveled to where she usually met with him. It was a grand garden like area that had been added roughly 300 years ago. It had made Twila happy to see flowers again one such she still kept in her living quarters, fueled to life by an immortals grace...a bleeding heart she had recieved a very long time ago.
She shoved the thought to the back of her mind, not wanting to ruin her smile for Lucian. It had been rough when he was still angry with her but now she felt as if she had worked her way back into his good graces. Now her life seemed complete again, with no worries or troubles, just happiness and eternity.
((sorry this is long but I just got the urge to write lol))
