He smiled warmly at her when he saw her," Ello little one. I'm glad to see your doing well. I'm hoping your getting better with humans...I need a favor child." He said in a soft tone making sure she understood he was in a 'good mood' he didn't want to let on he was slightly irritated at small things concerning the letter. "I need this letter delivered to a carrier on the surface. Its important business concerning a few souls that may have been misplaced. I'm too busy to get it done today- I have three souls to myself tonight alone. I need it delivered just past sunset. I have the coordinates for you." He figured she knew how it was to have a lot to accomplish in one night- and not enough time- and he knew she would do anything for him- that he enjoyed since she said she was in with him to the end. ---------- Jack muttered a slur as he was forced threw the portal that felt like it vacuumed all the air form his lungs. It was true he didn't need to breath but he liked to it felt comfortable to him. Looking around he saw a lot of things he recently read about and how to use them and such. Smiling at a group of girls at the large mall they giggled as they passed. He was a 'pretty boy' to them here. Even though he was about 823 now- he was still young for a demon. His favorite pocket watch was clipped to his jacket and about his vest. He was a very stylish dresser- since he still preferred the Victorian dress clothes from his time. It was the watch he got from the girl- he could feel his restless soul inside of it as it was cooing almost that the watch was form her. It was a way of keeping most of his mind- if he didn't have it he was more or less a mindless demon.

Twila's wings fluffed when he said she needed to deliver something for him. She didn't necesarily like spending any time in the human world where she wasn't working with a blade. It made her feel uncomfortable to be around the humans, mostly because she was nothing like them though she looked like them. This meant she'd also be dealing with an immortal of some type, perhaps one of the guardian angels that stayed amoungst the living. She didn't understand how any angel could stand being there with them. They all lied and sinned every day of their lives, their souls balanced with hate and hope. She couldn't yet decide wether or not she hated humans or simply found them foolish beings. Whatever it was, she wished to keep her distance when she could and deal with only protecting the ones who deserved it. Whoever it was for though, she wouldn't dare to go against Lucian. She promised him she would stay and do his bidding, all the way til lthe end. "I will. Just hand me the information and I'll get it done." She told him, wanting him to keep his confidence in her.

Lucien's smile was bright when she accepted this. He handed it to her and touched her cheek when he looked at her. "Thank you Little one. I appreciate it. Now don't take too long past dark they won't wait too long..." he said his words light and bright. She need the total illusion and he was sure to make it real- she had to imagine him pure and benevolent in all things as her mentor. --- Jack sighed, any girl he looked at wasn't her- any person he saw wasn't like him he just felt disconnected- however he knew that they all had souls kinda like his. Looking around it was getting dark out and he was almost to the point where he was suppose to be meeting up.

Twila felt a warmth radiate from Lucian's hand that she instantly felt sooth her worries about the humans. She loved that about Lucian, when he was calm and his voice sounded like this. It made her feel as though she was a bit stronger, that she had him there actually wanting her to succeed. She would do anything for him, if it meant that she could always have Lucian there for her. She accepted the task and in a moments notice she was gone, just a small flash of light the only trace of her left. It was a neat little trick she'd been shown a while back when she was skilled enough to use it. It made getting to the human world alot quicker. She materialized in a less than crowded area, no one seeming to notice a young woman dressed in all white looking curiously around her. She was taken in by the bright light, feeling the intial star struck mentality at just how bright they all were in the dark. She jumped a bit when a girl listening to her ipod ran into her. Twila inched back, thankful she had hid her wings before landing here. The girl look frustrated with her making Twila slightly confused. The girl walked off in a huff and Twila glanced down at her dress compared to the girls outfit. It was worlds apart different. However she hardly wanted to lose her holy garments for something frumpy like that. She skipped a bit along the street, attempting to quell her curiousity but failing miserably. Everywhere she looked there was something shiny, flashy or bright calling her attention. People were also doing strange things and the sounds and noises from the street were catching her attention more than they should a normal human. It was all quite a bit over whelming, so much so she had to take a small break to look over the location. It wasn't far from where she was if she remembered correctly. She just needed to be a bit quicker, the sun was already starting to set. Her pace quickened though she found it getting dreadfully to keep her eyes from wandering to the new stuff around her. It was all so distracting when she thought too much of it. It had been quite a while since she had spent any kind of down time amoungst mortals and she could feel the emotions she kept locked away welling back up at the sight of a young couple walking together. It reminded her a little of Jack and the walk by the Thames... The pain spiked her right where it hurt and she recoiled from the thoughts. She didn't want to make a fool of herself now by showing that a mere mortal could do something like this to her. She was an immortal dammit and she could handle herself just fine. "Now where would this person be? Lucian didn't even give me a description." She turned around and around herself looking around the people that passed near the old fountain. It was a monument from older times that the city had decided to preserve. If only they knew it was once the site of an executioners block that was covered up with a fountain in the early 1900's.

(( I'm typing on my phone )) Jack sighed he saw a girl who was dressed kinda funny along the side walk plaza by the old fountain. There wasn't enough light to get a good lol at her but he ha a hunch by how she was dressed that it could be his contact. Strolling upto the fountain casually he straightened up his shirt. He had on a button brown of black and red and a pair of beat up jeans, being proud of evey tear and scuff that he earned on them. His black puma shoes were comforts left running- something he did a lot of when he was in the city. His hair was still long- he conformed with the but didn't hange his hair- he liked it too much. Standing next to the to the fountain he found himself across the water from the girl in strange clothes, however when he saw her face he froze his eyes stuck on her. It was her. There was no doubt in his mind it was her- it looked like her and the feeling if his stomach doing a back flip occured in a second. Butterflies filled his throat keeping him from talking, the shakes took his knees threatening to give if he lol a step. He didn't understand what was going on.

Twila listened to the water running and smiled at the mist that swirled around her. She held out her hand and looked at the dew that formed with a small curiousity. Things were so strange here with the humans. Water was on the ground and even their air felt a less clean. Heck it felt almost hard to breath... Wait, that wasn't the air being taken from her. It was a feeling she was getting, like someone was watching her. She looked around her at every face around her but didn't find any that were lingering gazes. Her expression turned confused, till she looked ahead at the water. When the water died down breifly, she finally found the pair of eyes on her. What she found made her body grow cold and her eyes widen. It was just a normal man at first glance, but at longer examination he had a face she remembered like it was yesterday. How could she forget the one mortal she ever had contact with? "Jack...?" She said, stepping up on the side of the fountain. Without thinking she crossed the water over to him, landing lightly infront of him. She was close to him, too close for average standards but she was trying to get a good look at his face. She felt her heart beat speeding and this strange feeling of elation building inside of her. It was him, she could feel it, see him, probably touch him. He was here with her, not dead-- Her elated look faded and quickly she took a step back. He couldn't be Jack. Jack was dead, killed by Lucian and drowned in the Thames...His body was in Europe. Lucian told her his soul was damned...why would he be here. "I'm sorry, I must have mistaken you from someone..." She told him her smile having a sad edge to it. "Again, sorry to bother you, I'm meeting with someone on business here..." She edged away from him trying to figure out where she needed to go.

He watched her, however when she crossed over the water in an odd manner and landed in front of him. His eyes widened a bit and he was sure he had a dumb look on his face. When she got close to him he could still smell that sweet sent she had, that made him smile as he inhaled. When she looked suddenly sad and backed away from him he reached out a hand and touched her arm," Is it really you?" He asked his voice very soft- he was still in shock that it was her. He didn't let go of her arm- it was a light hold but it was a firm one none the less.

Twila saw the smile on his lips and it brought back that ache in her chest when she saw how much this strange mortal did look like Jack. His eyes, his face, even his height.... It was all the same as if they were still back in Europe still. However that scared her a little which made her move away from him. How was it that a human could be so much like another? And why did it have to be here and now? Why would she be the one to find a man that looked like Jack? His face only brought back the painful knowledge of her past failure, of the moment she couldn't save him. It hurt her quite a bit, making it hard for her to linger here. She thought for a moment of even risking her exposure as an immortal being by booking it out of here by light travel or even by her wings, just to get away from these terrible feelings. It was strictly against protocol due to the fact humans of this generation were blind believers and skeptics. Exposing the truth might cause panic and chaos. The touch that came to her arm awakened her immortal senses as she took his essence in. The problem was he was cold and worse still, this mortal was hollow. She couldn't get a read on his soul, almost like he didn't have one. But he did have a frigid feel about him much like the feeling she got from mortals that were dead. However there was a familiarity there, a connection she felt deep within her. She knew this man, not just because he looked like Jack. In a blink the feelings faded, leaving his firm grasp on her arm and his soft voice as the only things in her focus. The voice drew her eyes to his face all her sadness leaving her features to be replaced by surprise and slight hope. "Jack," She practically breathed letting an unsure hand touch his chest lightly. Her fingers brushed something and she looked to find a golden chain there, one she instantly recognized. It was the chain from the pocket watch. The emotions hit her full force and Twila didn't know how to exactly control herself. She just reacted with them and found herself hugging Jack before she could even get out an answer to him. "It is me--and you--it is you." She stammered ignoring the frigid feeling that passed over her and simply felt Jack there. To look up at him she moved back a little, staring up into his face. "How...? I don't understand. Lucian...he killed you and the river--David told me you drowned." She unconsciously had a hand clinging his shirt as if she was afraid that if she let go he would vanish again.

He looked at her face when she was struggling with inner emotions and her mind trying to piece things together- until she was suddenly hugging him. He wrapped his arms about her tightly not wanting to let her go- he didn't know if he let her go she would either try to kill him or just disappear. Her body was so warm- he held her there in his arms till she lightly pulled away to ask him how he was still there- existing more or less. Smirking down at her he chuckled," I was indeed stabbed and drowned... I am dead- however I'm an immortal of sorts now. Since I have a fragment of my soul-that is... this watch you gave me...I've missed you...I don't understand it but when I was in hell I couldn't help but think of seeing you again after wards...And I'm glad I have..." He put a hand over hers as she was gripping his shirt. He looked at her face where there was some worry there," Don't worry- I'm the messenger your looking for any how. You have the letter for me I'm sure..." He said as he pulled her a bit closer- he was enjoying the warm from her- he never got to feel that.

Jack's arms around her made Twila feel at ease, like this was all okay, that he wasn't gone but here with her. It didn't erase the mistake she had made or the wound she felt from putting her trust in him, but it did coat them with enough of a happy feeling at the moment to not take away from actually seeing him again. His words however awakened her initial fear and the logical thoughts that should have come to her mind first. He was dead, there was no way in hell a mortal could survive for close to 800 years. Secondly he was now immortal, not her kind, but hell's immortal. Not the rabid wandering soul kind that attacked the woman in the alley earlier, but something more controlled and dangerous, something she shouldn't be even remotely close to. Would he try to harm her? Could she trust him now? So that was the frigid feeling she got when she touched him? It all buzzed around in her brain, muddling her feelings and making her a bit wary. But what really shocked the hell out of her was when he said he was the one that was receiving a message from Lucian. She blinked at him, her face showing how she didn't understand. His hand ontop of hers stayed there and the close proximity between the two was noticeably eased. She didn't want to let him to no matter what worries she had. "Why are you speaking with Lucian? My mentor said this was an urgent matter..." She asked Jack, her tone not accusing but her mind was tryig to reason what Lucian would want with Jack.

He noted her worry but she didn't move away from him. "I'm passing the letter on-Who is Lucian? Was it the bird that stabbed me? You do realize that he was trying to kill you too right?" He said getting a bit frustrated as was noticeable in his tone, however he kept his voice soft in a hush more or less. He didn't care to talk about these things now but it was a bit late.

Twila tensed in his grip, her eyes still on his. What was he saying? Lucian had stabbed him because he went against the goddess's wishes, because he killed people! She pulled out of his arms her eyes narrowing. "Watch your words and tone, Jack. He is my mentor and I will not allow you to accuse him of something that would directly violate the code of our being. Lucian is only a danger to those who betray the goddess's wishes, those who would wish to do harm..." She told him, her voice low enough it could be considered only audible to him. She wasn't necessarily angry with Jack but his words. She didn't like anyone to threaten her mentor. He was her mentor, her caretaker in a way, and the person she looked up to. Jack was just a mortal who showed her what the world was like and one who she liked to talk to. Compared to Lucian that was a big contrast.

" Fine, I don't want to argue with you tonight- I missed you... However my mentor is expecting a letter from your mentor." He said his face a bit hurt that she pulled away and at her tone, but his face only fell a little bit, as he was hoping she would forgive him for his out burst. He would even say the world of Lucian if it made Twila stay, even though most were lies if he had. Taking a step forward he held out his hand to her," Want to grab some tea with me?" He asked his face soft like his voice he hoped he hadn't made a big gap in his bridge with her.

Twila watched Jack as he spoke. He didn't apologize for saying such lies about Lucian but he did strike a cord with her with mention that he missed her. Why would he miss her? She was the one he wound him up in that horrible place...because she couldn't save him. She observed the hand he held out and for a moment she wondered if she should take it. Though her immortal senses were telling her to stay far away from him, her soul was almost reaching out for him. She was surprised by how much she really wanted to take his hand, to be around him if it was only a little while. It was a tough decision for her to sort out on the spot so she decided the easiest option. She could only listen to her spirit, the heart of her being, reaching out to him. It was the only logical thing she could do now...besides Jack would never harm her. She took his hand, a light smile coming to her lips. "I would love some. Thank you." She said though she looked around her. "But these human's in America are so different... They make things so complicated and they talk funny too. Do they even drink tea?" She asked, since she felt now that she could speak with him honestly. He knew she wasn't mortal and she knew he wasn't mortal any longer. It was a new level for them to communicate on, it was almost liberating to be honest for her. She didn't have to tell half truths or pretend. She could even ask him all the questions she wanted now, without any fear of being looked at strangely. As they walked she noticed two people that passed them and saw that the woman's fingers were laced with the man's. Perhaps she had things wrong with this hand holding business? After all, with Jack's hand being cold, she felt perhaps holding hands that way would be better. So she switched it up, taking his hand and lacing her fingers between his. Twila didn't consider feelings into the mix or that there would be anything wrong with it, mostly because she had no connection at all to emotions and physical contact. She may have been going on a milenium but she wasn't exactly accustomed to human emotions completely. Her time spent as a mortal was very brief after all, and she was too young to enjoy learning more about it. Now that she was a 'woman' and not a 'girl' perhaps she would learn a little more, like Gabriel and Michael teased her about on occasion.
(An 900 something year old and an 754 year old are going for tea. Lol they're two old geezers going for tea. I dunno I find this thought hilarious. Also photobucket is being mean. I'll have to post the new sig when its being nice again.)

He smiled at her," They do indeed. Come I will show you." He siad pulling her off to the tea place he knew of however he slowed and looked at their hands when she laced her fingers with his. It was an almost intimate thing to him- he never held hands with some one other than his mother as a child and well- her when he was human. He smirked a half smile and pulled her on threw the slight crowd using a few words to get people to move. Finally arriving at the small 'authentic' Chinese tea shop, he took a seat and a waitress in Chinese clothes came out and offered them both menus however he simply ordered what he always had for him and Twila. The woman nodded and smiled leaving them for a moment before suddenly reappearing with tea, two cups and some sugar and cream. " You remember how to make yours up?" He asked with a smile, he was reluctant to let go of her hand but he had to to take a seat.
