Jason was lying still to protect her. No one knew of her ability to jump not even the paladin and that was exactly how Jason wanted it. " He likes to boast." She spoke softly as the guy chastised Jason about his jumping ability. She thought about giving a false name sure they'd given fakes themselves then decided to go for a chance. She didn't meet female jumpers often so if only for a day a friendship was made she'd be cool with that. " I'm Tash. That's my brother Jason."
The turn caught her off guard as her knee connected with something sharp catching her off balance. Wincing she let go of Drina's hand then turned away from them. " Sorry Tash I should've been helping you." Feeling guilty he took his sisters hand. " Tash can't see." He knew she hated people knowing and from the way she turned red he could tell she was embarrassed but they probably needed to know in case they took them through somewhere difficult. It wouldn't be a good idea to go dragging tash through places she'd probably walk into.

"It's a pleasure" Shawn bowed his head and then caught up with Drina just as Tash ran into something. That was a shock to Drian and Shawn but they both looked at each other and then continued walking. "Well don't worry. It's not too far" Drina told them and hurried along the street. She wanted to get home quickly now so that maybe they all could talk and exchange stories.
She turned a couple more corners and then looked around the street, empty as always. Drina breathed easily for once and then ducked into the alleyway. "I'm surprised you haven't asked about any of this Shawn" he gave her a weak smile "Well to be honest I've followed you before so this isn't new to me" her face got red but then she let it go. She would yell at him later "I'll rip into when we get this all figured out." Drina told him and then walked to the back of the alley "Alright Shawn and I will jump you guys there" she told them softly and then walked up to Jason "Why don't you take my hand and hold tight to your sisters hand" she told him and Shawn grabbed Drina's other hand. "3...2..." Shawn started to count down so everyone could get ready.

She wished she could see if they were giving her those pathetic pity eye stares most people held when they discovered she was blind. Poor blind Tash right? Frowning she let Jason lead her through the street getting dizy as she tried to keep track of where they were going. " Are we nearly there?" She didn't mean to complain but all this walking in unknown places didn't really do much to ease her fears. As they stopped she walked straight into Shawn. Thoroughly embarrassed she ducked behind Jason. " Okay." Holding onto Tash's hand he reached for Drina's hand.

"1" Shawn called softly and they were gone from the alleyway and in the small hall closet of their building "sorry for the tight space" Drina said and then quickly opened the door so they weren't standing on top of each other. "Remind me next time to jump us to a different spot other then your closet" Shawn complained as he walked out of the tight space. "Well you said short cut" she snipped back at him and followed to their condo door. Shawn unlocked it and walked inside dropping his keys in the bowl next to the door. He then shed his coat and hung it up, Drina did the same thing. "Welcome to our humble abode" Drina called softly to Tash and Jason as she held her arms out and spun in a circle.
"What do you guys think?" She asked as he spun to face them and Shawn appeared behind her "You two should be safe here for a while. They have never tracked us here and even if they tracked the jump they would have to go through a whole lot of trouble knocking on all the doors to find us" he explained to them, hoping to ease their worries. "Would you guys like anything to drink or eat?" Shawn asked as he walked into the kitchen "Yea Shawn is great at cooking" Drina told them as she plopped down on the couch.

A sudden claustrophobic feeling came over Tash as she was pressed tight against the others. As the door opened she breathed a sigh of relief. " Yeah...let's not do that again." She agreed. Hanging back she stood in the doorway of the closet feeling completely uncomfortable wit the entire situation.
"Tash it will be fine." Jason whispered into her ear. Taking hold of his sisters arm he steered her into the condo. " Looks awesome." He answered. Glancing at Tash he then looked at Shawn and Drina. "Well we haven't eaten lunch." Cutting Jason off Tash stood on his foot deliberately. " Sssh let's not impose anymore then we already have." She really wasn't comfortable with this situation at all.

In the old days Shawn would have made a comment about being modest however now he didn't even hear what his sister had said. He was already rooting around in the kitchen trying to think of what to make and when he didn't feel any presence with him in the kitchen he closed the fridge and turned to face the living room. As always Drina was sitting on the couch with her eyes on the tv and he was standing there confused.
Shawn walked up to Drina and smacked the back of her head, she recoiled and got to her feet glaring at him "What's going on?" He asked her and looked at the two and then to her brother. "Sorry, I forget sometimes" she told him rubbing the back of her head. "They feel as though they are imposing" she told him as she looked straight at him and spoke slowly.
Clarity came to his face and he turned to them "It's no problem at all. I promise you. It's not every day that we have company and sometimes it's nice. Especially when we don't have to hide what we are" he told them, his voice soft even after all the years of being deaf he still hadn't been able to tell how loud his voice was or if he was even saying things correctly. "Please stay" he pleaded with them, it wasn't like he couldn't deal with just his sister and him but he wanted a change and if Drina hadn't run into them then they would probably still be stuck in rut.

Jason watched the interaction between Shawn and Drina hiding a laugh. They were similar to those two however it would be Tash hitting him on the back of the head. Through out their exchange Tash kept quiet but felt rather guilty as Shawn spoke to them. It was her who wanted to leave not Jason perhaps she should just give them a chance?
" We'll stay wont we Tash?" Well he wasn't giving her an option to leave now was he. With a reluctant nod she let him lead her to the couch. She was blind she didn't want to be in a place that she didn't know her way around. Sitting down on the couch did little to ease her claustrophobic feelings as she then heard Jason take a step away from her. He wasn't really going to leave her with Drina was he?

Drina looked at Tash and felt kind of bad, she felt like she made her stay by her words. She got up off the couch and walked into the kitchen with her brother. She tapped on his shoulder and turned around to her, Drina's brows were knitted together and that confused Shawn a little. She started mouthing words cause she wanted to keep the conversation between them 'I think she's uncomfortable. I shouldn't have made them stay'
Shawn gave her a sympathetic look and placed a hand on her shoulder and then turned her around to walk her back into the living room. "No one in the kitchen while I'm cooking. I want it to be a surprise" he told all of them and then walked back into the kitchen "Don't have to be so pushy" Drina stuck her tongue out at her brother and laughed as she walked back over to the couch. "So...are you two new to Paris?" She asked as she sat back down.

Tash gave a nod of her head as she let her hair tumble forward to cover her eyes. " Okay." She answered Shawn. Drina's question instantly made her shake her head. " No. We live in Florida." She said softly. " I got Jason to take me to the carnival." Not that it had ended to well. Sighing she turned away. " I knew they were following us." At least Jason had the sense to shut up. " Yeah sorry I should have listened to you Tash." Shrugging her shoulders some she ran a hand through her hair. " I wish we could find just one place where they can't find us. How do you two manage to remain hidden?" She was quite curious to that. They moved constantly and always ended up being caught where ever they moved to.

Drina listened to Tash talk and was at a lose for words. The girl seemed really down and something else that Drina couldn't pin just yet. Then the question was asked, she had pondered on how to answer that for a few minutes but even thinking about it her explanation sounded complicated. "Well..." She started saying but then closed her mouth "We don't jump often and when we do, we walk to a place that isn't our home and jump from there. Sometimes I protect the area's sometimes I don't. We try to stay in high populated areas that way it gives the paladin's more to track cause who know there could be more like us out there that we just haven't found" she finally told her hoping that she explained even part of Tash's question.

Her explanation made a lot of sense. Really her and Jason were childish how they behave. Jason jumped without a thought and ran amuck. It was there own fault they got caught often. " We've met others like us." Jason said joining in on the conversation. " Skye." Tash blurted out. " Yeah Skye." He hadn't taken to the female jumper but Tash had been eager for the company. " You can protect an area?" Okay it made sense that there were things he didn't know. They'd pretty much just made it up since they were kids.
She could relax mostly now eager to learn some more about jumping. " Our mother was a jumper but our parents were killed by the paladin when we were kids." Frowning she tugged at her necklace. The paladin had caused the car crash that had taken away her eyesight it was the reason she'd discovered she could also jump.

Drina wasn't really surprised that they had found another jumper but it was nice sometimes. Tash and Jason were the first two others that they had met and it was actually really nice. Drina looked around the living room trying to think of something to say but she couldn't. Shawna finally walked out of the kitchen with a tray that had four plates on it. He walked over and set the tray down on the coffee table "Chicken fried sandwiches and homemade fries" he said and then proceeded back into the kitchen for drinks. He returned quickly with two pitchers "And to drink lemonade or water. Sorry we don't have much to drink" he said as he grabbed a plate and sat down on the arm chair near the couch. "So what did I miss?"
Shawn took a bite out of his sandwich and waited to be caught up. "Just discussing back stories" Drina told him and took a plate. "Ah very interesting topic" he said setting his plate down on the table "So I take it Drina has already told you that we faked our deaths to keep everyone we knew safe when we were kids and then we had to move" he said and leaned forward pouring some lemonade for himself. He sat back and started eating yet. Drina looked at her brother slack jawed, that was the first time he had said that so casually.

The smells coming from the kitchen where mouth watering and now Tash recalled how hungry she was. As Shawn returned to the living room she smiled politely." Thank you." She said softly. As Jason sat down next to her she relaxed against him. " Water or Lemonade tash?" Shrugging her shoulders she kept focused on the conversation.
Guiding Tash's hand to the drink Jason released it as she held the cup firm in her hands. " It's water." He whispered to her. Nodding her head she took a sip then passed it back to Jason hearing the light thud as he placed it back down on the coffee table. "We still see our aunt now and then. I think if we really wanted to Tash could stay there and not be harrassed much by the paladin. It's me they want. " Scowling Tash pushed his arm. " Only if you dared do that to me I'd hunt you down and kill you." She warned him. " Besides that woman is scary."

Shawn was having a hard time keeping up with the conversation but he caught most of it. Jason just talked a little too fast and Tash he wasn't even going to go there. He sighed a little bit and then focused on eating his food and leaving the conversation to Drina "Well I would rather be living with Shawn then anyone else" she told them as she took a bite of her sandwich. "As for your question ealier Tash...I'm not sure how it works but somehow I can kind of make my jump spots invisible or something like that. I'm not really sure, I haven't tested it but that's what I'm guessing"

Tash settled on eating even though her curiousity was killing her. Picking at the chips she nibbled slowly on them her appetite not that big despite how hungry she was. " Is that something everyone can do?" She asked. Was she asking to many questions she didn't want to bother them. Dropping her head she took another chip. " That would be handy being able to do that." Jason realised. " I think I need to be more careful where I jump from now on."
Stiffling a giggle Tash dropped her head further as she laughed silently. "Well thank you Shawn and Drina I guess meeting you was all it took for my brother to grow up." Pushing away the remainder of her unease she tried to act more comfortable around the pair.
