Darcy's look of contemplation was in the least a sign that he was thinking honestly. "Yes. There is something you can do, Ari." He replied and reached for his belt, producing a small book and flipped through a few pages before stopping on one. He moved in very much beside her, seeming not to notice or care. she shifted slightly uncomfortable next to him as he started in on what ever it was he had in mind for her.
"See this berry?" He said, pointing to a sketch in his notes that was detailed and even colored with care, "It's native to the brush around here. Also," He thumbed through the pages to a root. "See this plant. The whole thing is edible, including the flower. I want you to find them so we have something to at least tide us over for the night. Now a word of caution. The flowers have to be purple and not red.The red plant is barbed with a venom that burns like hell to mess with. As for the berries, Make sure they are dark blue. Any other color is dangerous. The last thing I want is to deal with you being sick. Got it? Keep the notes with you incase you forget what you are looking for. In the mean, time I'll get the fire started and search around a bit for water."
Ari pushed the book back at him and smiled slightly as she moved over a little, " right you want the elder berry and a wild camaroon. " she said her face a little complex. did he think she was stupid? she new that much at the least... what would or would not kill her even if she did not have to use it in practice she still had to know. Delorian made her study books similar to the one Darcy had till she had it memorized. only thing was she never had to go and pick them... she turned and eye'd the forest suspiciously before getting to her feet.
only the trees knew what was out there beyond the clearing that that were in. and she had a feeling that should would not be too impressed to take a stroll thought nature at the moment . but it was better now while there was still some light left rather then stumbling through the dark. " kay.... i guess... ill be back... " she said hesitating slightly. before stepping into the woods.
she managed to find the berry's rather quickly and the flower was just a little deeper than that under a pine tree were the acid content in the soil was higher witch it preferred. she smiled knowing she was more than good on this. only thing was she had her skirt held up as a make shift basket and she was feeling self conscious. she shook her head and turned around and noticing how quickly it was getting darker. " ah...... " she looked back seeing she had managed to walk away from the deer path she had taken and was unmistakably lost.
" Darcy... " she said feeling rather uneasy. " DARCY! " she said a little louder hoping to here him call out even in annoyance to give her an idea witch direction to head. " oh goodness... this is not good at all.... "

Her response left Dimitri pensive as she skinned the rabbits infant of him. He went green at the sight of blood, but a certain force inside of him made himself not run off. He hated seeing the poor things hurt, but he figured it was kill or be killed at this point. They needed food and the rabbit would provide that. He bit back a gag when she moved the sopping blood wet leaves away from camp and forced himself to look down at his notes in his lap. "S-So Mez, do you normally travel?" He asked, just for polite easy conversation in Fae. He was also trying to black out the image of the flayed carcasses she was getting ready to roast. "D-Do we need a fire? I could try to conjure one." He offered, since he felt he could at least do an elemental spell without causing much harm. He would just recommend she stand back though... ~~~ Darcy blinked at her sassy response about knowing the plants he was talking about. How the hell was he supposed to know what she knew? 'I mean for crying out loud, she can't even dress herself.' He thought, rolling his eyes and stepping away with his notebook. His grandfather had made the whole thing, even given Dimitri a copy. He said it would be useful and it had been. Or at least for Darcy since he traveled quite a bit. It was about the most studying he had ever done really. "Alright. Whatever." He said with a dismissive wave as she left before he turned his attention on his own work. First he conjured a fire in the pit with fresh wood, the spell being as easy as blinking for him. He was a pyromancer at heart after all, due to his mother's specialty. She tended to like fire spells and taught him those instead of the ice Dimitri liked. He assumed it was so she could tell them apart easier. Heaven knows his father still mixed them up occasionally even as adults. He went about hunting down water and found a neat little stream nearby. It was nothing fancy, just water that was trickling from a lake nearby no doubt. He would have to check that lake out later for a bath. He hated how dirty he felt at the moment, mostly because he could feel the sweat and dirt from all the walking and running on him. No doubt Ari would like a little time to herself as well...it would probably be good for the princess's feet. He thought on that a moment and gave a heavy sigh. How the hell did he get himself into this? Now not only was he searching for his stupid brother but he was also taking care of a stupid princess....His days just couldn't get better! In the middle of his journey back, a sudden tingling sensation hit the palm of his hand. He blinked and glanced down, finding that it was the mark making some erratic glowing. He tilted his head in distrust, wondering if the damn thing was about to explode or something. However, he had little time to concern himself with it when suddenly a female voice called his name quite loudly. He grimaced when he realized who it only could be. That and the fact that he had a strange pull in a certain direction in his mind, one that was telling him at least what direction to go to find her. He grumbled under his breath as he took off in a run, cursing and muttering that she better have been in danger for screaming in the woods like that. She probably got a splinter, a tear in her slipper, saw a nasty bug. Something girly girls would fret over right? "Ari?" He called out, his eyes narrowing in the brush as he tried to catch sight of her. It was getting kind of dark and the last thing he wanted way to lose her out here.

She looked over at him and nodded, they would indeed need fire to cook the raw meat. She hoped he knew how to make one, else this might be a bit longer before dinner. "Yes, make one there please." She pointed to a spot that was clear of pretty much everything- marking it a clear spot for a fire. Mezedonne did however wonder if he was going to use his human magic or make it by hand. She had the hares on a stick in a quick moment so she moved back to watch him not wanting to be in his way after all.

Looking about her Ari could feel the blood seal on her shoulder start to warm up causing her unease. the seal only acted up when she was in danger, and her stomach became tight. memories shifted in her mind from that one day... the day everything came crashing down around her and her world crumpled into nothingness. the quiet of the forest was foreboding, the sun set sent long shadows around her. not so much as a bird chirped only the wind whistling through the trees." Darcy...." she said once again as if saying his name would help ease her fear and fill the soundless void around her. a bead of sweat fell down her back as she shivered feeling very cold. tears pricked at her eye's as she could feel the dark aura behind her.
" what do you mean... not good at all?" astroth said as she walked out from behind Lisarial once she realized her presence was sensed. Ari shifted back on her feet till her back was pressed against the tree. her eye's wide in fear as her own face smirked back at her from Astroth. " i have missed you Liz, where ever have you been hiding my little murder? "
" no.... no... i... i didn't... " she stammered. Ari felt like she was being strangled her throat was so tight from fear. " i ...i wouldn't... "
" what do you mean... you didn't.... " Astroth broke out into laughter as she looked down at Ari. " little Princess Liz... the grand Lady Lisarail of the once proud Mesothelioma.... " snorting Astroth's face twisted sadistically as she held in her mirth. " your kingdom, your family, all you once held dear is gone.... dead. nothing but rubble and dust because of your pride you little worm. " shifting a bit closer to Ari she sighed happily only inches from her. Ari shivered feeling Astroths breath upon her skin as she closed her eye's and looked away. " no.... please... i... " she wanted to protest. to say she didn't do it. but deep down she already new she was responsible for their deaths. for everything. it was all gone because of her. " no" she whispered weakly as tears streamed down her face. " no... " she cried out feebly.
" you make me sick you know. " Astroth stated as she placed a hand gently on Ari's chin forcing her to look her in the eye. " do you know why you make me sick?" she asked as Ari shook her head unable to respond. " you don't? well its like this. you are a better demon than i am." Astroth grinned kissing Ari on the cheek making her feel weak only the tree was holding her up. " its like you are back to finish off your curse, it wasn't enough that a kingdom fell and your beloved Delorian is now dead. here you are cursing his decedents haunting them. like a sick and twisted vengeance fill ghost. "
" NO! " Lisarial suddenly cried out desperately. " no... i'm not! ... " she stammered as if trying to convince her self.
"really? Liz. really really? Liz... then tell me... why that cursed brat is standing behind us... right... was it Darcy? " she asked turning too look at him a very sure and cocky look on her face. " well ill let this go for now, i'm sure you have a ... lot to talk about right? " she laughed hard enough her hold her stomach, " i'm sure you didn't tell him about how you are a murder and a cursed one at that. "
Letting go of Lisarail she waved at Darcy while speaking mockingly," see you later little would be knight in shinning Armor ".Astroth simply turned her back and walked back between the trees becoming nothing more than shadow dissolving.
Lisarial fell to her knees trying to breath as she clutched her skirt to her chest still full of the berry's and flowers. her face was frozen in shock her mind racing as tears continued to fall from her eye's. memories of her last day at home ran before her eye's. her mother and father... and Delorian. all there smiling faces from that morning. she was the reason that they were no longer there smiling. " sorry.... i'm sorry...i'm so sorry... " she whispered to the trees around her filled with regret.

Dimitri nodded to Mezedonne before moving over to the wood, stretching his arms and focusing on the wood. He held his hands over it and muttered a few word, causing a glow to elicit from his palms. A blue flame erupted in the pit that was like a normal fire, but was a deep blue color. Confusion swept across his face, to the point he looked uneasy. He put a hand out, trying to feel for warmth. But instead he found supreme cold. "Oh no." He muttered before blushing a bright pink. "Um...so I don't think that will work. Let me try something else." He cleared his throat and grabbed his staff before moving back over to the freezing fire. No sooner had he begun, the wood began to shake. making Dimitiri frown and pause mid spell. He took a step back and began again, this time annunciating the spell better. Suddenly a large blaze that was blue in color flooded the fire pit, shooting up in a pillar of fire. He dove back, falling on his ass and staring with wide eyes at the raging flames. Suddenly, the flames calmed, leaving a red flame in its place. He sat up from where he was, feeling the heat wash over him which was a good sign. "Th-There see? Fire." He said with a sheepish smile, not noticing that he had some soot dusting his face with black lines mingling with the sweat on his face.
~~~ Darcy was quick on his feet, or at least had become so from years of travel and being used to running. It was hard not to build up endurance when fights with creatures usually ended up in a chase or two with the 'hero' being unable to keep up in armor. He weaved around trees and brush, leaping over roots and fallen trees to get to where the mark was leading him. He could feel a panic welling in his chest that was not his own, or at least he couldn't rightly tell where it came from. It was an urgency to get where she was at that very moment, to check on her, to protect her. He knew normally he wouldn't have that loyalty towards anyone, especially not with someone he just met...so then, was this her feelings? Was she that afraid that she would even ask for someone she apparently hated to come to her rescue? He pushed the thoughts away in favor of voices, ones he heard coming from a clearing nearby. He moved forward, the gem of his staff glowing with the smoldering heat of embers from an open flame. He was in attack mode at the moment, ready to take on whatever threat he came across. Lisarial crying out made his body tense, the defiant and tear filled "NO!" knocking his magic out of focus and made him stumble a bit to hurry forward. He made it into the clearing in plain sight, finding Lisarial backed against a tree in tears while someone with a aura as thick and dark as night radiating through the area. He paused, his eyes going to Lisarial who was so distraught and worn down looking that it actually pulled at something inside him, He was...angry at this thing for making her cry like this. He glared at the person as they turned around to face him, calling him a cursed brat. He paused when he saw the face, his glare falling into an abrasive, confused look when he saw this person looked like Lisarial. The aura was too dark to be her...but...the face, despite the uncharacteristic cocky look, was almost too identical to believe. Maybe, she had a sister? He didn't care who this thing was, it would pay for taunting them for daring to mock him and hurt her. He moved forward with intent to confront it, but the woman walked away from him as if he were nothing more than a pest in her way. "Hey--!" Before he could reach her she was gone, making Darcy's blood boil. He glared at where the woman disappeared, but the look was short lived when he heard Lisarial drop to the ground. His actions were quickly than his thoughts and instantly he dropped his staff and went over to her. Without asking permission or even being shy about it, he knelt close to her, quickly letting his eyes scan her for injury. When he found nothing obvious than dirt smudges and a few rips in her dress, he placed a hand on her cheek to make her look at him. "Ari, look at me. You are okay. That woman--thing is gone." He said before balking at the tears coming from her eyes. He didn't like seeing women cry, especially not like this. "Now, did it hurt you? Who even was that?" He asked as he tried to get something more coherent from her than broke apologies and tears. He was worried, though he wouldn't ever voice that. "And that stuff about murder and curses..." He muttered, looking slightly confused. The idea of her, this frilly little powder puff being a murderer was almost too preposterous to ever be true...
Watching she was in wonderment on how this human tried to make fire with his hands when instead he made a cold fire. When he fell she let hi be since he was still working on the fire. However when it exploded into wild magic and we a rather large pillar in the night she rose a brow wondering if she was going to have to fight the fire now, since the poor boy wasn't doing the best at this however it died down and lo and behold there was a warm little fire. She gave an approving nod and moved forward lodging the sticks at an angle over the fire to roast the rabbits. "Odd way of making a fire Dremetree. But it did what it needed to do." She said in a calm tone such as his mistakes hadn't scared her. "Next time make it by hand however." She spoke to him in a joking tone letting him know it was 'safer' to do such.
Frozen and numb was the only way to describe how she felt. she could no longer see what was in front of her or hear Darcy's words. each tear fell for every regret she felt at that moment. how many years had she had to keep reminding her self... how long would it take for her to find forgiveness? when Darcy placed as hand upon her cheek she looked at him. that face was so similar causing her to chock and shaking her out of her zombie like zone. she looked up at Darcy completely vulnerable. her tears stopped as well as her shaking as she looked into his eye's until it hurt. looking away with a look of guilt she cleared her voice despite still not being able to speak. fear still gripped her voice. Ari was at a loss. despite her guilt she slowly finished the short distance between the two of them and hid her face in his broad chest. she finally let go of her skirt and held onto his shirt as she started to feel her body and lose the numb grip of fear. " Da-Darcy!" she cried out clinging to the front of him. "th-thank you" she whispered, " thank you....thank you, thank-you-Darcy" she said weakly too ashamed to look at him, " i'm... okay."
Dimitri gave Mez a look that was slightly embarrassed when she commented on his fire making. He looked down, his attention going to his hands. He knew he was a poor mage...but he needed to get better. And the only way to do that was through use and practice right? That was what his parents always said...it's what his grandfather preached...Maybe he wasn't good enough now, but he would be a great mage one day. He could do it. He never gave up, that was something he and Darcy shared. He buried his feelings, looking up at the Fae near him. He gave Mez a bright smile, one that was warm as was usual for him. "Ah yeah. I suppose that would be better." He said, before turning his attention to the rabbits there on the sticks beign roasted over the fire. "So...Rabbits...can't say I've ever eaten them." He said, since his parents were very well off and had always fed he and his brother other things. Even in his state now, he didn't really touch meat much, well that was due to how expensive it was around here. It helped him stay trim however, his slight frame something that played up the idea of mages being the thin little scholars. ~~~ When Lisarial threw herself forward, gripping his shirt with a shake passing through her body. His brows furrowed since he was definitely not use to someone clinging to him for comfort. He was used to touch from pleasure, hate, aggression, or pride. But someone actually seeking to thank him for simply doing what was right for him to do....it felt odd and therefore made him awkward. He placed a hand lightly on her back, the other trying to decide where would be appropriate to touch her. He couldn't hug her, she got huffy when he was close to her last time. He didn't even think he should hug her. Did women like hugs when they were like this? He cleared his throat, mentally kicking himself for being ridiculous. "Alright try not to make this something--ah you're okay--that's something." He said before he gave a bit of a prideful look. "Well you didn't seem okay a second ago. What was that all about?" He asked, trying to distract himself from the fact that she was actually pretty small and warm for someone so annoying...
He had brought up the rabbits however she gave him a light look at his smile, still a little lost in that. Was he upset with her words? Since she saw not they were slightly rude she nodded to him. "Did you always want to be a mage?" She asked him not really worrying about the food for now since it had a bit to cook. Perhaps if he did he was going about it wrong? Or she was wrong on that, seeing as she didn't understand human magic much but perhaps he could learn fey magic? Well more simply ones to help him perhaps..."I could maybe try to teach you fey magic? Would you like to try?" She asked a bit offhandedly wondering if he even felt he wanted help, thought it was obvious he did. She knew everyone had their own pride to uphold.
as ridiculous as it seemed to Lisarial she refused to pull back from Darcy. the warmth he gave off was a sort of physical proof she was safe. she simply kept her face firmly were it was as she tired to think of a response for him. " yeah... i'm not hurt or anything just... scared." she responded to Darcy. "sorry... that i scared you too... i just... that was... her. " she said letting her arms slip around his back as she moved in closer as if to hide her self. " that was Astroth... the Demon i spoke to you about... " she whispered everything. she was to fearful that she would return. Lisarial didn't even know how the demon had found her in the first place. her mind raced for anything and everything that could be a help and was finding nothing of use. Darcy might try to get the truth out of her still... the idea mortified her... how could she explain her true sin's to him.
Dimitri paused when Mez spoke to him about being a mage and he gave her a funny look. He wasn't used to someone questioning that, but that was because most knew his family had magical blood and therefore being a mage was something chosen for them. "Yeah, I've wanted to be a mage since I was born. My family, the Averin, we are all mages. Humans get their magic from bloodlines you see. My grandfather and his father, and his father's father...well the magic in our family goes back many generations." He said before his look turned briefly unsure. "I-I guess I didn't inherit enough of it it seems." He said, though his expression thankfully didn't sour at the admittance. He sat up a bit straighter when she offered to teach him Fey magic, something he never expected to learn. The Fey were very secretive about their magic since it was old and very powerful. To think that he could learn it...."It couldn't hurt to try--well actually with me it could. Ah I need to tell you that my teachers never really stuck around long...sometimes involuntarily." He said, looking a bit nervous since he had accidently banished one to another realm while trying to cast a simple cleaning spell...He liked Mez too much to banish her. ~~~ She only used that pause of speaking to get closer, something that he wasn't sure if he liked. Darcy wasn't used to this and this was already getting a bit too close to the woman that was supposedly a murderer...not that he really believed that now that he knew that came from a demon. Let alone the one that locked her in a tower. He glanced down at her, feeling the odd pressure of her face on his chest making it hard for him to see her face. "That was the demon?" He asked again for clarification, but he knew the answer. How the hell did it find her out here? He wasn't sure what the demons power was, but he was now begining to question just what this girl wanted out of getting rid of it. Obviously it was a threat, but it hadn't tried to kill her...did that mean it was just toying with her? Could he take that risk by keeping her out here for the night with her already so afraid of it? He gave a sigh, knowing the right answer but it was going to suck royally. He felt his eyes narrow at her calling him scared. He wasn't scared. He didn't get scared...maybe he was a bit worried about her--but only a little bit. "I'm not scared. Just think about how bad it would look if I let you get hurt, huh? My reputation as a mage of honor would plummet." He said, though his voice was soft and not as bitting as he intended. He tried to repair his pride by distracting himself, turning the panic from the moment into his usual cockiness. "Looks like I have my work cut out for me.." He coaxed her arms from around him and made her look him in the face. He wanted to look at her while speaking to her, especially since they had alot more to discuss. Not now but maybe soon. "You need to be honest with me...We're in this together. Your past is your business as mine is my own, but I expect to at least know what I need to know to take care of this demon, got it? Now--" He knelt and turned showing her his back and motioning for her to climb on. "We are traveling again. I don't think staying out here is the best option anymore. Besides we can't be that far..." He said, offering to carry her since he hardly wanted to lose her again or have her getting injured by wandering around in the dark. At least this way if Astroth showed up he could have her close and have a better shot at killing it without her in the way.
hearing all his remittances she nodded, not speaking yet trying to figure out the absolute answer there. If the humans viewed him as bad then he needed to learn better magic- to bee seen as good? Right? That logic sounded right to her so she figured Fey magic was good- so if he knew some he would be good. She nodded again this time to herself as she moved closer to Dimitri with a slight smile. She muttered a word before blowing some air into her hand, opening her palm there was a small ball of glowing substance, it was of course air however it was a small light spell. Very simple, very easy- and not easily mucked up- if he could mess that up- he was a master at breaking things. She wanted to see his reaction to the spell firs to see if hew as willing to try it. It was honestly fey words invoking nature to take her breath she offered to make some light. It was very simple, and she figured this could be easy for him.
Darcy's voice was deep and for some reason very comforting to her. He managed to ease some of her tension before he drew her arms from around him. Looking up at his face Ari could see concern, though she had a feeling it was for what was to come as well as about her past. as he urged her to be more honest with him she could feel the guilt on her face as her cheeks turned a bit pink. as Darcy suddenly showed her his back her eye's widened in surprise. she bit her lip and searched his face for a moment before accepting and climbing on. she couldn't see well in the dark as it was and her legs were nothing but jelly after what happened. that and as shameful as it was she wanted an excuse to cling to him a little long.
As Darcy got up and started walking she cleared her throat and tried to speak up as her arms tightened around him. " yeah....i know " she said feeling ridiculous. " i... I'll tell you... i just.. " she took in a deep and shuddering breath hating the idea of telling Darcy about her past. " just, a little bit longer can we stay like this. i promise to tell you. and.... and if ... if you don't want... to help someone like me... i'll understand. " she said with a tearful voice as she fought the urge to start crying again. " i'll let you go with no penalties. " she promised. " i just.. need a little more time" she pleaded grateful that he could not see her face.
Dimitri looked at her with curiousity as she moved in close, showing him her hands where the spell would no doubt take place. He watched carefully as things proceeded, the way she effortlessly called a spell to being in her palms. It was a beautiful light, one that seemed so natural it was almost breath taking. He wanted to touch it, but he was unsure of the spells purpose. He listened to the words she spoke and muttered them under his breath though his accent was atrocious, he was at least trying. He watched the light a moment before he hesitantly nodded to himself. "I---I want to try." He said, before raising a brow at her. "A-are you sure though? I can mess things up very easily..." He said, looking down at his hands, his low esteem hitting him where it hurt at the moment. ~~~ Darcy half expected her to smack him and get all huffy like she had before. Hell, he hadn't expected her to cling to him like she had moments ago. There was a first time for everything he supposed...Well naturally she would have fallen victim to his charm. He was a powerful mage after all, one of status and a future. Poor girl just needed someone to protect her was all...He got to his feet after she took hold of him, taking a few seconds to right himself and her before making his way further into the forest. He headed on the foliage path, trying to get them back to the path so that they could easily find the town soon. He looked over his should at her, feeling her nestle into his back as she spoke on her past and what was going on with her...He felt the sting of something inside him at the idea that she felt he would abandon her over things like this. He made a promise to stop this demon and he would...He wasn't someone that went back on his word. "You knew my grandfather...You know the Averin don't give up that easily." He said, hoping to cheer her up, though he was set in his mind that he was doing this to save himself from her tears. "Take a little time. But know I'm impatient. Always have been. My brother complains that it's my worse quality, not that I have many poor qualities." He said before looking ahead and noticing that they had found the trail again. He gave a small intake of breath, focusing ahead of them for a long moment as he muttered a spell under his breath. A ball of fire danced into being, the little orb self contained and carful as to not to touch him. It bobbed by his head and raced a bit by his ear to give him some light to walk by. "Though...I could talk about myself all day if you'd prefer." He said in a teasing tone, wanting to lighten the mood between them at least a little.
At his hesitation she nodded however she decided to help him she would help him learn the words. "Anadl yn gwneud mor ysgafn ar gyfer goleuo..." She stated slowly for him- making sure no 'I's were uttered since those weren't in Fey language. "Your tongue, says'Breath make so laeght for ellumanataon'" She tried to say it however it sounded off she did hope he understood better then it sounded. The words were to keep in his mind while he actually said the phrase for the spell. It was simple and hard to mess up- even for him. Nothing bad would come of it- It would simply not happen if he messed it up. Fey magic was safe. "Golau gweler awyr. Say it after me." She stated the spell again for him, the ones that would make the spell active. She hoped this childish spell helped him with his confidence.
