Maraas moved quickly, though it was mostly due to her longer strides. While she didn’t have the height of a full-blooded qunari exactly, she did have the gift of some of their proportions and build. She more or less had figured out this area by now, since the port areas were areas of good business for her and other mercenaries. It was a place where merchants flocked and she could find steady work. Her work usually involved protection of goods or people, but only for causes she deemed worthy enough for her time and effort. She didn’t like those that had poor agendas or evil ways under their belt. The Qun taught honesty, clarity, and community after all. The Ben-Hassrath were the only ones taught to really bend truth and even then it was for the betterment of the community and to enlighten others. The information they gathered was vital to their understanding of the world, since not many left Qunadar unless they were soldiers or agents. Or ones looking for a purpose better than what was handed to them… She shook off the thought in favor of the path she found off into the plains, one that was backed by rock formations and hills to better cover the vantage of them leaving. She couldn’t have the soldiers following. It would be a shame to harm more of the simple minded… “Is there a place you wish to go, Venalas? If it was here, I am sorry.” She said since she wasn’t quite sure about many details about this stranger. He was odd and could be a bit standoffish…if not secretive. She didn’t blame him honestly because it was hard to trust people as an outsider, but she would need to know more if she was to properly travel with him. ~~~ Caden awoke to a loud bang beside him, a pot that someone set down with some force. He startled awake, sitting up board straight though he winced at the sudden movement. His body still felt like lead and there was a particular dryness to his body. He was tired, felt shaky and unstable, like he had run for a day without water…but he had been in this bed. The bed they had made for him in the cells that they kept unmanageable mages till they could be made tranquil or…The thoughts faded quickly but not of his own volition. It seems his tiredness was affecting him more than he thought… He turned his attention instead to the young man by the bed, the one with the sour look on his face that had placed the pot on the hard stone floor. The man was obviously a mage by his robes, the required ones that marked their school of training and what circle they belonged to. This was a healer…the same class Brielle was. Caden gave the man’s sour look an expression of apathy, since he was not motivated to do much else more. He was just too tired and too angry…with himself, with the world, hell with way this all played out. Brielle was gone and here he was in a prison cell for what he had done to her…good. He deserved worse… “My name is Andros. I’m here to tend to your wounds and give you your lyrium. Are you going to make this easy or complicated, Templar?” The man asked and Caden gave him shake of his head. “I’m fine, Mage. Leave.” He said, turning his back on the rather unamused mage who’s expression didn’t hold the calm sentiment his voice was portraying. “Fine. Have it your way.” With a few words in an unknown tongue, Caden suddenly saw a green mist surrounding him. It coated his being and left a glowing residue that radiated a smell of springtime. Caden had seen a spell similar to this and knew it was meant to relax someone, especially a hostile mage or attacker. Yes, he had seen it used before but never felt its effects. He wasn’t supposed to feel the effects. But there he was, his fatigue succumbing to the powder that made him slump back to the bed feeling calm and sedated despite the powerful ache that settled in his head. “What—How did you—?” Caden muttered in his daze between pain and bliss, making Andros who was fiddling with bandages at his chest give a roll of his eyes. “You’re weak and have been off lyrium for a week now. I suppose your superior thought you needed punishment for your moping. I’m surprised. Usually templars are in worse shape after they’ve been off the stuff this long, let alone a day…” Caden grunted, realizing that had to be what was making him feel this…empty. He had never been off lyrium before, not for longer than a day at the most. No wonder some of the older retired officers went bat shit crazy when off the stuff… He looked down at the healing gashes on his chest, now just raised red lines instead of the deep wounds he once carried. Andros observed them a moment before seeming satisfied and went for the lyrium vial nearby. Caden looked at the stuff a moment that the mage tried to hand him, before he gave a weak shake of his head. “No…” He said, figuring that the punishment was better than making himself feel any better. He had no right to rest at the moment… Andros looked livid, enough so that the glass in his hands gave a creak as his hand tightened into a fist around it. “Stop sniveling like you actually cared about her.” He snapped, making Caden’s eyes widen in surprise. A mage had never spoken to him like that, let alone so blatantly rudely before… “All you templars are the same. Civil when it benefits you and sanctioned murderers when it doesn’t. You have no right to mourn her when you were the one that carried out her sentence.” Andros tossed the bandages aside, getting to his feet as if to stand over Caden in judgement. “Brielle was kind, a good person. Her Harrowing was a set up! Feeding a lamb to the slaughter…She was not the monster you lot painted her to be! She was your family—my love— and you let her die!” Caden was up in a split second, fire behind his gaze as he lifted the mage up by the collar of his robes, dangling him a few inches from the ground. “Listen here you little heretic. She was my sister and I did what I had to under my oath to protect her and every mage in this tower—“ “Tell yourself that… You will have to live with her blood on your hands. Meanwhile, the rest of us will mourn her.” Caden glared at the mage for a long while before he dropped him. Andros moved back an obvious good few paces before adjusting his robe. He looked ready to leave, but paused at the door with a hint of tension in his back. He looked back at Caden, his expression one of reservation about the words he was about to say. “For whatever reason she asked me to look out for you if something were to happen to her… Leave this circle. She wanted you protected…so heed that warning because I won’t repeat it again.” With those vague words he left, leaving Caden, broken and furious to wallow in his judgement…

They were simply off- no real direction- hopefully the Qunari knew this area better then himself. "No- this wasn't the place I wanted to be- so lets just get out of here yes?" he asked her in a tone was was polite since it would be dangerous to stay much longer. They headed out towards the plains headed near a mountainous area it seemed. They traveled in silence a good bit before he decided he needed a break and took a seat on a large rock by the path side with a huff. "I always forget how much work it is to travel on foot." He said with a smirk feeling like he was the only tired on here. He pulled some snacking material from his bag- some cheese and munched on it hungrily. Since he hasn't been dosing himself with Lyrium he had an increased appetite so he oddly felt like he was staring though he had eaten semi recently. ---------------------------- The Tevinter mage stood in the hall and she had to catch up- as he had been arranging quarter for his companion there. She was to help find the Magester as she was to help ensure his safety- however she was sure he didn't want her help any at all. He was strong by himself but she thought he was a decent mage for Tevinter. His sister had sent her along to find him- and bring him home since she was the body guard for the Merseth household. It was her responsibility to retrieve him they assumed. She wasn't the happiest about the trip down there but she assumed that it was worth it when she got to beat the smug look off his face. She owed him that much- if he did simply run off- if he had been kidnapped then the person was to be killed and the head brought back. Simple- she was good a both of these things. When the mage saw her he smiled seeing how she was dressed in her battle armor already as well a light armor as she wasn't exactly a heavy Templar- in fact she wasn't a Templar at all. She focused more on stealth as she could track any one for the family as they liked sneaky people better. "Here- sorry, was working on securing things and making sure all was well- then some Templar's held me up talking-I came as soon as possible. What is our status?" She asked boldly with her authority over the mage who was also sent by the family but he was much lower then her and she wasn't even a mage which was pathetic to him. She pushed her dark hair from her shoulder to her back because it bugged her but when she put it up she got it caught in her daggers hilts as they were decorative as well as deadly. Her deep brown eyes bored into the mage as he showed signs of discomfort as he shifted feet and looked away- she didn't rightfully care what he thought he could do- she could kill him before he could get a spell out- and he obviously knew it well. She wasn't sure what the commander there thought as they had just shown up with a signed letter from Tevinter in search of a mage. "Greeting sir. I hope everything is in order?" She asked the commander since they had to go though him after all.

The Templar Commander, an aging man that looked no less hardened by the grey in his balding hair or the wrinkles that lined his face, greeted the Tevinter woman and male with a small acknowledgement of a nod. "Welcome guests of the Imperium, my name is Ser Greagoir, Knight-Commander of this circle. It's a surprise honestly, Kinloch Hold has not had a visit from those of the Imperium..." He said, giving a few passing mages a stern look since they had stopped to gawk at the foreigners. The mages quickly scurried off, allowing them further privacy. He shook his head before his expression sobered to allow for the business to finish. They were here under order of their government to look for some run away magister it seemed. At least they did it the smart way by going through the King of Ferelden and eventually the Knight-Vigilant. They were under his direct orders to see to it this party at least had a Templar presence with them, mostly to ease the fears of the nobles that were iffy about mages running around, let alone free ones from Tevinter. "Now, I have received word from my superiors that you need an escort, someone familiar with the areas here that can be of some assistance in finding the boy. You will find no lack of talent here. In fact we will allow you to choose who you wish to travel with you from our records. Is there anything else we can do for you?" He asked, feeling it best to speak to the woman as an equal since she hardly looked the type to beat around the bush. ~~~ Maraas walked when she was told, taking the travel in side since she was used to much more. She was used to moving most of the day, hell for days on end without much sleep. She had trained her body to handle it, to the point her feet were calloused and her muscles no longer registered much of an ache until she was severely fatigued. That usually came with time, such that after the 4th day straight without proper sleep could result in her collapsing and sleeping like a rock. She didn't like to get to that point, but some clients were so paranoid of being killed that they required 24 hour watch. Venalas, didn't seem like that sort of client. But he was a bit jumpy...When he wanted to stop, she stopped, using the opportunity to fix the braid in her hair that was keeping it from her face. "Walking is good. The work pays off..Though if it is too much we can look for a merchant in the next town that is willing to take us further...wherever it is you wish to travel." She said before her head tilted a bit in a show of curiosity. "That is a strange weapon you have. It's long with such a small blade." She commented, since small weapons to her were anything that didn't have a blade big enough to cleave someone in half.

Luka looked the man over ans gave him a small smile. She liked it when they got straight to business. Raising a brow at the man when he said she could pick whom she wished, that was different. "I get to pick? Don't you think I would pick for talent over anything? I would like to meet the Templar first honestly- to make sure they aren't an ass- no offense commander but I am not dumb enough to believe all your men and women under your banner are as cordial as you are about us being from the Imperium." She said with a sweet smile to show she was much more then a sweet face and a good sword hand. She knew she was being a little picky but in all honesty she had a good point. ------------------- He paused in taking a bite of his food to look at Maraas, at her question about his staff. "The blade is only for close combat honestly." He said avoiding calling it a staff directly because he knew the Qunari were leery of mages. "Walking is alright- I'm not too used to it but I assume thats what I get from being on a boat for a month or more." He said with a smirk changing the subject since he was unsure how she would respond.

The Knight-Commander looked slightly annoyed by Luka's upfront response, but the woman was entitled to it. She was a visiting guest of the Imperium, someone they regarded high enough to trust with the weight of diplomacy honestly. If she messed up here, it could mean serious allegations for the Imperium and Ferelden's already shaky compromise. "Fine. I have one in mind. A woman named Olivia of the Trevelyan house. You will find that she is diligent and skilled at hunting missing mages. In fact her apprentices have all been masters in battle against malificar--" He was cut off by a door banging open down the hall behind where Luka stood, revealing a fretting mage that looked pissed trying to reign in an even angrier looking man. Greagoir recognized the man and instantly wanted to groan at who it was. "Speak of the devil--" He said, as the pair approached. "Please Messerh--This is not the time to be out of bed! They have charged me with making sure you take your lyrium and stay out of trouble." The mage said with a scolding tone, his eyes narrowed as he tried to get in the templar's way. He was being difficult, more so than usual it seemed. Whatever Andros had said had obviously rubbed him the wrong way. The man was livid, enough so that he seemed ready to punch Greagoir in the face. Not that the foolish templar would. That could mean death for even him. Caden had always been a fair templar to him and he never had an issue with him till this point, the point after Brielle... "I am fine Dariel. Now go back to the circle." He said, moving him out of the way so that he could get to Greagoir faster. He didn't want to hurt the little man, but he was driving him insane with all his nagging. He had business with the knight-commander and he would be damned before he let anyone get in his way. However, Dariel was persistent, stepping in between him and Greagoir at the last second. "No, I said get back to your room before I freeze your ass and drag you back!" Daniel shouted, shoving Caden back with as much force as he could muster. It wasn't much to move the solid mass that Caden was. Caden's expression got dark, his eyes narrowing at the mage that tried to get physical with him. Not having any more of it, he quite easily picked Dariel up by his robes and hoisted him up a few inches from the ground. "Listen to me and listen good. I'm done with the lyrium and I'm sick of you. Now get out of my face before we have a problem Dariel. I will not say it again." He threatened before dropping the terrified mage that scurried off to hide no doubt. He turned his angry look on Greagoir who looked annoyed. "How could you deny my release?! I petitioned for it by the rules--" "Caden, we have guests here--" Caden looked to the pair there, his eyes narrowing at the woman and man briefly before the look eased slightly. Tevinter? He knew that crest on the mages uniform from anywhere. What were they doing there? That was beyond his curiosity however. He needed to figure out what game his commander was playing first. He had filled out the necessary work to leave the templar service and sent it off to his superiors for review before it was sent to chantry for his termination from service. All approved it, except Greagoir, who deemed Caden "mentally unfit to make his own decisions at the time". Greagoir noticed he was processing things and decided to speak while Caden was distracted. "I apologize, visitors. You will have to excuse me while I guide my knight to the proper disciplinarian." He said, grabbing Caden by the arm and trying to drag him towards the nearest door. ~~~ Maraas looked interested in the staff for a bit longer before she nodded. "Alright, though you should let me add a better blade to it later. That one is thin." She said before she blinked at his talk of walking. She guessed he didn't like her idea so he was still determined to walk. She was okay with that, but she wasn't sure how well he would hold up the further into the hill country they got. "On a boat for that long? My trip was like that too. I do not like boats. They throw you off balance." She said, since her stature and horns made it hard to battle with equilibrium on a boat. She however hummed to herself in thought, wanting to know a bit more and see what he would tell her. "Why did you travel so long?" She asked, since it was a strange occurrence to suddenly get on a boat to an unfamiliar place, or so she had been told.

Luka was listening to the Knight- commander just before a door behind her slammed open and a Templar who seemed to be on bed rest went after a mage. If he went to harm the mage she was thinking of stepping in however she thought a moment about where she was. This also wasn't her mage to care for, neither was she in Tevinter doing her job, she was here searching for part of it. She lost interest in this 'Olivia of house Trevelyan' the moment the man brought up battling a mage- or 'Malificarum' in his own words. She didn't want to hurt the boy, just find him. Okay, so maybe she wanted to punch him for good measure but he was to be returned in one piece. Watching carefully how he wasn't afraid of the mage, but even knew his name- more then most Templars' could say for more then a few. She listened further, perhaps finding something of interest out of this little show however when the Knight Commander commented to the angry man about them, she waited for him to glance there way. She gave a cute little wave knowing she was acting a little childish but it was in her nature to do so. Luka jumped at the opportunity to speak just before the man was carted off- knowing the knight commander was going to struggle with him all the way there if he went. "Knight Commander Geigor, with all due respect, I think I just found the perfect Templar for our job. If you would leave him here to speak perhaps?" She asked sounding sweet as she spoke trying to be polite with this new Templar. He was cute and had a good figure however she had seen that he wasn't afraid to get physical with a mage- with out the intent to kill. That was important to her, she did need her charge home alive. ~~~ At her words about being on a boat a while he smirked at her as she spoke on how she hated boats. "It took a while on the slave ship I was on. Lots of random stops on the coast." He said easily since it was the truth- it didn't help that it was from Tevinter but it was what it was. "I guess, we can look for a merchant perhaps, I'm not too sure about how that works honestly. But if you would like to get a ride we can attempt. And I thank you for the offer on my blade but Its not necessary, that would make it too heavy to swing properly." He said answering more of her questions from earlier since he had been thinking on them.

Caden's brows furrowed when the Tevinter woman spoke out in favor of keeping him there to work for some job she had in mind. He hadn't intended to sign himself up for anything. Hell he was trying to be released from service not go on some hunt with a woman that looked like she was out to get someone. Perhaps she was a hired bounty hunter? She didn't look helpless, but of course Ferelden had to be strictly political and distrusting of Vints. She was being tagged and followed by a templar to keep her out of trouble no doubt... He was prejudice against Tevinter since his uncle had worked in diplomacy and somehow he had a distant cousin on his mother's side in Tevinter, some magic family or rather. The Knight Commander looked briefly stunned before he tried to speak up, though his words were hardly as smooth as they had been prior. "But Miss, this man has been on disciplinary leave. He is not even in full condition to be placed on a task--" "Disciplinary leave? Right, is that what you call locking me in a management cell? And I am not incontinent as you say to not speak for myself." He growled before looking to the woman that was now asking him to work for her. It seemed this really rubbed salt in Greigor's wounded pride...maybe this could be his ticket to being written off for conduct and call it done. This was probably a simple mage hunt, probably some mage they wanted for a crime or something. Caden gave Greigor a once over look before a smile that was hardly friendly crept onto his features. "Well Commander, I need to at least hear the guest out. Manners and all..." He said, drawing a look from Greigor that could peel flesh. He stood there a moment before he breathed in and out, giving a nod. Greigor didn't have a horde in this race after all. This woman was a foreign dignitary and he couldn't rightly argue with her choice with no good reason. He reinstated Caden, so he was technically a templar fit for duty and to serve. To argue would allow the little bastard to win...He wasn't above showing the brat who was in charge, And hell maybe the taste of tevinter malificarums would scare him straight about his duty as a templar and why killing his sister was the smartest thing to do when she was outed as a blood mage. He gave Caden and the woman a nod before taking a step back to allow them to speak. Caden would have preferred him to leave but rules were rules. He folded his arms, looking at the Tevinter woman's face with a curiosity that was partially hidden behind a well mannered expression. "I apologize for interrupting your meeting ma'am. I was a bit caught up in--well you heard." He said before deciding it was best to continue past his actions that probably deemed him volatile or crazy. "Anyways, this job your asking about...it must be something serious if you sailed into foreign territory for it?" He said since it was best he found out what was going on exactly before letting her down gently that he was the wrong man for the job or accepting and getting out of this hell of a circle... ~~~ Maraas blinked when he said slave ships, mostly because the only ones she had ever seen were the ones that carried criminals under the Qun or the unenlightened. Was he one of the unenlightened the Arishock's men had taken in battle? She figured not since he seemed to be far too educated in her ways to be one of them...she nodded when he told her that they could find a merchant in the next town over and she gave a slight frown at his talk of making the staff too heavy to swing with a bigger blade. She didn't have that problem as a heavy weapon wielder after all..."Okay, this road has many merchants. I'm sure we can find one that is hiring.." She said though her eyes went ahead of her to the road that was broad and showed signs of ware from carts. "Come, we must start traveling before it gets dark." She said, walking ahead since she was tired of standing and wanted to find somewhere safe enough away to rest before true nightfall.

Luka watched him tease the knight captain and did her best to keep from giggling. She liked him already, he was quirky for a Templar since the ones in Tevinter were useless, trained lap dogs. His kind words were a cover, she could hear that however she could already tell by his smile he wasn't the most pleased to be speaking with those from Tevinter. "Your're not sorry, save the pleasantries, you don't seem to mind. I am here to find my charge. He disappeared and there is slim proof he came here to Fereldan- through a harbor in Denerim. I am of course following procedures in both countries with bringing a mage and getting a templar. Now, I need to find this kid- he may be the only none blood mage Tevinter has in power currently. I'm still working on if it was kidnapping or he just ran away- I'm not sure quite yet." She stated very simply to him, giving him the run down of the situation quickly since she wasn't one to stand idly by when there was work to be done. --------------------- At her prompting he stood and they headed off, it wasn't too long before they came to find more people on the road but none he wanted to really tangle with at the moment. They walked on a bit more, getting thought a small village but pushed on since it was a little weird having a foreigner and a Qunari around in that small of a place. They eventually broke camp just off a trail there by the road- it looked commonly used since there was a fire pit already build into the little area. Veneloss relaxed there once they had things set up and sighed. "Perhaps you were right, walking is a lot of work, I'm not sued to it." he commented off handedly to her as he rummaged for food since he was hungry again.

Caden heard her snappish response and gave her a slight frown. Seems she knew exactly what Fereldens thought of her people and was ready to get down to business and get past it. He wasn't opposed to not wasting each other's time, especially since she caught him in a partial lie. He didn't lie about being sorry that she heard that mess, but he wasn't too keen on mage hunting for Tevinter. Mages there were out of control and hardly the best people. Their chantry even mocked Andraste. His family was devout to the public, despite their scandals behind closed doors. He had grown up hearing of Tevinter's corruption and how magic could taint a person...Surprise surprise that the closest of his siblings would have been a mage...He dispelled the harsh thoughts that threatened to break his put together mask, hiding the mania back into its deep dark corner for later. He wanted out of this Circle, not back in a cage. She was his ticket out hopefully, if he hadn't upset her so far. He listened to her talk, his eyes going from her to the mage she was with that looked oh so official, almost uncomfortable in the Circle with Templars watching him. Surely she wouldn't be traveling with him? He would only slow them down or get her killed by the anti-Mage idiots out there... Caden's attention was drawn back to her when she stated that she was looking into whether the boy was kidnapped or ran off. To hear he was also not corrupted by blood magic seemed far fetched but he didn't take her for a liar. "And I take it because it's Tevinter he has no philactory or way to track him...Is he being charged with something serious? Are you after him to kill him?" He asked, being blunt with her. He wasn't about to sign on as a young mage's executioner. He had seen enough death to last him a life time. ~~~ Maraas didn't argue with Venelass as he spoke of stopping on the road rather than a town. Him choosing to sleep on the ground rather than a bed was a bit strange, but she chalked that up to his jumpy behavior from before. She sat by the pit, working on getting a fire started as he talked of his feet. "You will get used to it. I find the travel is soothing." She said, before her eyes lit up at the spark she got from the flint. She finally got the fire to catch, helping to toss the kindling and wood onto it to keep it going. When she stopped she grabbed a piece of cheese from her bag, biting into it with the manners of most of her kin. She looked to Venelass, her head tilting some as she watched him look through his bag. "If you're not used to travel...then what did you do before? Do people not travel where you are from? In Par Vollen, we move a lot, wherever we are needed." She said, explaining her confusion since she figured most didn't live the way she had.

"He isn't being charged with anything, I wound't wnat to kill him- punch him perhaps but not kill. Little shit makes my job harder, had to travel to this dog smelling mud pit to find him. You would think a magister of the Imperium would at least go some where not so...dirty. No offense." She said since she had lived in poverty before and knew what it was like and she had had also seen what the boy lived in- complete opposite. " I have a good enough way to track him, He has markings on his body, burned in with lyrium. He isn't too hard to miss and I'm sure none will forget him quickly." She said to him knowing it was a way to track. She could track him all she needed was a Templar to find him. "You can keep the mage- I'll take this templar with me." She said more directly to the knight commander who had come back into the room. She didn't get a clear answer from the Templar in question yet but she sensed he wanted out of there to begin with. ~~~ At the question of traveling where he was from he shook his head. "I'm sure there are traders and such there but myself I wasn't one to leave the estate often. If I did it was by carriage or horse." He stated letting her know he didn't get out and walk a lot. Par Vollen? Are you not from the land of the Qun? Didn't they move to occupy Par Vollen?" He asked trying to get his facts straight. Most Qunari one would meet wouldn't speak on it so he was glad to have this opportunity.

Caden blinked when she spoke of him not being charged of anything more than running off it seemed. Now why would the little magister be running off to Fereldan to hide? He wasn't sure what this meant but it wasn't his place to question that. He was a templar and this was a loose mage that had left Tevinter into a not so mage friendly country. They could kill him or at the very least injure the boy. He raised a brow at the mention of having lyrium burned into his skin, his mind trying to wrap around how exactly that worked. He had never heard of such a thing and was almost curious to see how it worked. When she spoke to his commanding officer behind him about going with her, he looked back to see the Knight Commander looking annoyed and ready to argue. However, Caden was the one with the real say in this situation. He looked over the woman and tried to really think this out. He could use her to find this mage and get out of the service...Maybe leave and never come back? He knew that was not the real way to play things if he wanted to be honorable, so he would figure things out a different way. Still, did he want to help Tevinter find another Magister? If he was 'good' as she said, then perhaps it could be a good thing to help them. Whatever the reason, the thought of being able to leave was more tantalizing then sticking around there. He looked to his officer, smiling a half smile. "As she said, Commander. I'll go collect my things and be out soon." He said, giving him a swift bow before looking to the Tevinter woman. "I'll meet you at the gate. I'll have horses drawn." He said before he went to put on his armor and grab his sword and things. When he was packed and headed to the courtyard, he ignored the stares from the mages and the people there. They wanted him gone, he knew that and didn't balme them. He went to the gate where he specified, finding her there with a pair of horses. "Ready to begin? I'm thinking the ports would be the best place to start?" He said throwing out his idea for her to weigh in on since they would be traveling together. ~~~~ Maraas wasn't exactly surprised to hear that Venelass was a high born. He looked to be a built man but it was clear by the way he carried himself. It was close to the high market traders carried themselves, even if he was kinder. "That sounds boring. You must have grown tired of not seeing new things." She said before her brows furrowed at his question. She had never had someone outside of her people question about her life, especially not about the Qunari's way of life. She was willing to answer, since she figured they would be together for a while. “Land of the Qun? You misunderstand. My people are conquerors. The Qun is our way of life and our home is our people—or that is what we are told by our Tamassrans, our teachers. My people live in Par Vollen and Seheron, lands we conquered from Tevinter a very long time ago. I was born in Qunadar, my people’s capitol in Par Vollen, or the capitol we chose after the war. The Qunari are of the Kossith, but we do not know them. That homeland is unknown because when some of the Kossith accepted the Qun from Ashkaari Koslun, they became the Qunari and left across the Northern Ocean. I suppose that is the homeland of the Qun, it was the home of Koslun…That is not common knowledge. We do not freely speak of the kossith, only the Tamassrans and our leaders may know their name. And I was to be a Tamassran, a teacher to the young and old before I left Qunadar.” She said, knowing it was a lot to explain but that was the bare minimum she could go into to help an outsider understand a bit more of what her people were. She was a proud Qunari, even if she was the best of practitioners here in Ferelden. She felt she best served them here anyways...not as a Tamassran but as a proud mercenary.

She nodded and moved to the location mentioned, letting the man get his things. She waited by the gate, two horse there by her- they seemed lazy honestly but not all horses could be the same as in Seharon. When he finally reappeared he was armed and had his armor on, making him look the traditional bit of being a Templar. He looked good in his uniform even, if she hadn't seen what he had under it already she would have assumed. At his suggestion she nodded,"It seems best, perhaps we can find a trace or a start to our trail- he can't be that hard to find with skin like his. Not to mention his accent, they will notice." She stated since they were true facts she was good at this job- another reason she was sent from Tevinter. ~~~~
Venelass heard her speak and nodded afterwards learning a lot from her. "I see, my apologies, I misspoke about the Qun." He said in a soft tone since it was a very offensive thing to do, he was pretty sure. After a few moments he sighed,"I'm not too used to talking about random bits. So please forgive me if my small talk isn't the best Maraas." He said more as a way to cover his ass on this and other small topics since he wasn't honestly the best with them since most treated him like his station- not the person in it.

Caden nodded as she spoke of how to go about tracking the boy, though he did allow his eyes to wander to the Tevinter woman. So she was knowledgable of tracking? He figured Tevinter would send someone competent after a magister, but that didn't mean he couldn't be impressed with her. Besides he never knew Tevinter women to be this pretty, mostly due to Fereldan's disconnect with the nation. He shook the thought off and gave himself a mental kick. He knew better than to entertain the idea. This was business and he knew nothing of her. He chalked the thoughts up to insanity. He was entitled to that and his thoughts of the pretty woman that he would be traveling with right? He sighed to himself before he looked to his horse and mounted easily. He knew they gave them poorer horses, but that was the dig from the commander. He was not happy with Caden at the moment, but he wouldn't let it faze him. What a better middle finger to this place than to ride off into the sun set not giving a hell? He looked to the tevinter woman, deciding it best he learn her name rather than keep calling her the tevinter woman. He would be mage hunting with her rater all for who knew how long. "You're right. I'm positive there will be leads from a local inn, most likely someone on the ports." He said before he heard the gates opening, allowing them to pass over the bridge and out onto the wilderness front. "So, since we will be traveling together we should get better acquainted. My name is Caden, house Westergaard. Not that houses really matter outside the politics..." He said, feeling an awkward rise that he had been so sick to throw his house name in, something he found pretentious but he was trained to do it like a hound was trained to chase a rabbit. His mother was Orlesian and very proud of the idea of family names and pomp. She trained her children to be little diplomats, something his father didn't mind since he was a devout chantry man anyways that liked order and had little time for children. ~~~ Venelass's apology made Maraas blink, her eyes widening some as she realized that she may have come across as rude. "Ah, no apology needed. You are an outsider to our way. It is to be expected." She said before her brows furrowed some, thinking to herself that her words may have been misconstrued as calling him stupid. "Not that you are not fit for the Qun--The Qun is just a way of life I don't expect many to be able to accept. Some would do very well under it, but most would not like the way of life or understand." She said with a small shrug that looked odd coming from the woman. She fidgeted a moment before beginning to unbraid her hair from her intricate red ribbon bound braids. She didn't like the idea of being disliked by this new man, especially since Venelass was kind to her and hadn't given her reason to dislike him. "I like you Venelass. I do not mind your conversation. You are nice and well spoken. That is all I can ask of you. I apologize if my words are...blunt. I have learned much of this language, but I am still not perfect." She said since it was a point of shame for Qunari that they didn't speak the Thedas languages fluently. It was why most were stoic and quiet around the Fereldans. They just had no idea what they were saying or could understand very little, while some just looked down on them.

When he introduced himself she gave him a light smile. "And I am Luke of house Merseth of the Tevinter Imperium. usually I am called the Hound of the Merseth house hold since I am the guard of the family's estate." She said since she wasn't a Merseth, she wasn't elven. She was from Seharon yes but the natives there were human, very few knew that however. She shifted on her horse getting a better look at this Caden. He was defiantly a Templar but this one seemed a little out of it. "I was sent after the idiot because I know his habits. His sister sent me after him- more likely to cause trouble with out me there." She commented more to him for humor since it was truth. ~~~ When she started in to explaining her words more fully he smirked, giving her a light nod however it changed to a more suprised look when she said she liked him. Not in a lustful manner but a friendly one, which as a bit of a surprise to him. "Thank you Maaras. I appreciate your words. It is fine, it is better to be blunt the beat around the bush about a topic." He said clearing the air about this since it has surprised him. "So, where would you like to go first? Besides back the way we came?" He asked more as a joke but it was a good quesiton as to where they were off to.

Caden was glad she humored his question and actually told him her name. Though to hear she was called the Hound made his brow raise slightly. Hounds were meant to track so, she was a tracker, a hunter perhaps. That would explain her lighter armor and the lack of heavy weapons. She looked powerful however, or that at least she had the ability to take care of herself out here. It seemed like he as the Templar was just the formality or the tour guide to appease the nobels who didn't want Vints running around unattended. He could hear his father now ranting that the 'blasphemous traitors of Andraste's will would be the death of their country'. He knew better than to buy into that mess, though his did have his reservations about people from Tevinter. Everyone did who wasn't from there. So Luka was a guard...and she was there on order of the boy's sister, not his parents. Were there no parents? Were the siblings close? Questions circled in his head, especially the bit about the sister causing trouble? It sounded humored, but he figured that there was more truth to it. "So he has family in Tevinter? Mind if I ask more about this boy's background? Family, life, friends, and things of that nature?" He asked, wondering exactly what provoked the boy to leave or perhaps why he'd be taken. ~~~ Maraas blinked at the surprise on her face when she paid him a compliment. Was he not used to compliments? She kept that matter quiet, especially when he told her that he was appreciative at least. That made her happy in a way, since she was used to people only paying her mind for their safety or to bark orders at her. She was a bit unsure how to perceive him saying that being blunt was better though, since most people liked fluffier words here. She found especially the nobels were emotional and prone to bouts of fits if they were offended. But Venelass didn't seem like that type, something she appreciated and respected. Her expression slacked when he asked her where she wanted to go. something she hadn't expected. "You are asking me?" She asked, her confusion subsiding some as she gave it true thought. "Well...I've heard of many places to see. The farthest I have been is Redcliffe." She reached into her bag at her side and pulled from it a map. "There is the Brecillian forest...A beautiful place I'v heard. Orzammar is revered by the Arishok as being a place of great wealth and learning. Redcliffe is odd...I do not like it for its alienages...but the stores have fine crafts." She said, offering him a bit of variety in her own ideas. "You had no goal coming here? Nothing you desire?" She asked out of the blue, wondering just what this elf was up to traveling to Ferelden.
