Her smile faded some when he asked about the family life. "His father and him were some what close- before he passed he had the markers placed on his skin. So he wouldn't have to resort to Blood magic. His mother is similar to his sister- a stuck up bitch who thinks being a mage will solve all their problems with power play. Their mother is dead-and the sister is still about causing trouble. They see differently- one is a devout practitioner of Blood magic and other vile things while the other is clean- thankfully. The boy isn't the biggest fan of me however- so he might squirm away from me- I don't mind but he will come back with me." She said since it was true- she had been ' adopted' into the family's household serving staff when she was younger but it was still a mess to think about properly. ~~~ At the question about having a goal here in Fereldan he smirked at her, she was sharp. "I have no intentional goal Maraas. Just to travel- see the world a bit. I used to be so confined I though it was time to break away and see things." He said with a smile since in honestly he did so- leaving his abomination of a sister and the household he though were all just as filthy as his sister- thanks to his parents. "Would you like to circle about to Denerim perhaps- go see what we can find there properly? Then maybe the forest? I like forests- we have them in my home land." He said with a smile.

Caden listened to her talk about the family and noticed she was no longer smiling as she spoke of them. Seems that with the father, he took to preparing his son with powerful magic in a rather unorthodox way. It must have been painful or at least traumatic for the kid...To also hear that he dealt with blood magic on all sides from his corrupt mother and sister wasn't a plus. Seems the little magister boy was from a broken home, one that was characteristic of highborns. He understood families that were willing to do anything to unsure their future and preserve a family name. He felt sympathy for the boy, but kept his mouth shut about it. He already agreed to help, this just solidified that he would invest himself in doing a better job than most would over finding him. The kid had bad to contend with back home with this sister of his, but with his influence he could probably do something much better for his home than what he was doing here. So the boy was even leery of being tracked by her? Was it because she worked for the sister? Not really, since she seemed to dislike the woman heavily. Then why would he fear Luka? Caden cleared his throat some, wondering how to word what he was thinking. "So you didn't suspect foul play? With the sister and he being at odds she could have been the one to fuel him leaving? Maybe had him kidnapped?" He asked, wondering if this could be a case of him being taken forcibly from his home. ~~~ Maraas blinked at the idea of traveling without a goal, something about it sounded of a much freer will than she was used to. She was used to being told where to go and how to do things. She could think for herself but she always had a stringent plan or goal in mind. She wanted to be a warrior her father could be proud of and a qunari that meant something to the Qun. How could Venelass travel by himself with no drive to do something great with that time? When she heard about his confinement and wanting to see things, she felt like that could be a decent idea for a goal. To see Fereldan and experience things for himself. When he recommended traveling to Denerim and then to the forests, she gave a nod. "Yes. That sounds like a plan." She then gave him a small look of curiosity. "Traveling will be hard here. People are not kind to others beyond humans..." She said, since the idea of going somewhere new had been hard for even her when she was considering to leave because of that racism.

When kidnapping was brought up she shook her head lightly. "I had her questioned before the other magistrates- there for it was the truth. They used a spell so she could only speak truth for one question- and it did its job, she had no hand in her brother's disappearance. That brought me some peace as well as fear." She said with a sigh as she knew it would have been easier if the sister was involved. "I feel he left on his own accord- simply staged things perhaps. He is cleaver for an elf. Though in his place I don't blame him for wanting to leave such a miserable place." She said a bit more quietly as she thought on his role there and how much pressure it was. "He was to be the newly appointed Magister in the imperial circle- taking his father's place. He had no honest friends, hated by his siblings and others around him for his new position. He was ostracized in a way that made him always surrounded by people but lonely. Though there are those of us who care for the boy- he doesn't trust us." She finished softly letting him know a little of the boy's life since he didn't know. ------------------------------- The confirmation about the racism here in Fereldan was a sad one. "Yes, then perhaps we find a human to travel with? Or even a merchant?" He thought since merchants were looked upon kindly since they contributed to the economy. "And let them try to insult me. I can easily over power them, if not I then you could easily. Most here are simple folk I can assume." He said since it was what he was always told- the dumb southerners were stuck in false ways and dumb.

Caden listened to her rebuttal to his theory and felt that she was right. If the woman hadn't had a hand in him disappearing then that was one less hoop they had to jump through. However, that made the mage harder to track. That meant he could be anywhere, doing whatever, with whomever. That was a nasty combination for a foreigner in their country side. He figured the boy was either dead or smart enough to get himself somewhere safe. "Then that makes his life harder. Then he will be searching for supplies and a place to stay. But towns that take in lone elves are few out here. A lone elf could be mistaken for Dalish or a runaway servant from a noble house or alienage. They won't take kindly to him. Not outside of a big city..." He said before his brows furrowed some in thought. "Sounds awful, for the boys past I mean...To be in a place you despise, surrounded by people that hold no respect for you. And you have to bring him back to it...that will make him desperate, hopefully enough to survive and not to get eaten by a bear or wild mabari hounds." He said, since he had been sent to deal with bandits and passage detail for the chantry before. It wasn't pretty work and often lead to him realizing how awful Ferelden could be when she was really trying. ~~~~ Maraas was surprised he mentioned finding a merchant, though the idea wasn't half bad. The only issue would be finding one that was willing to pick up work from strays. She gave him a nod however gave him a smile when he mentioned taking the person on if they insulted him. Honestly the idea of the skinny elf overpowering someone was priceless, but she wouldn't voice that. People were powerful in their own ways after all. She had seen elven mercenaries and assassins take out quite a few hired men before being cut down by her blade. She had even witnessed the might of the Dalish hunters when a merchant she worked for refused to stop harassing them and raising the prices on their needed supplies. She gave Venelass's words a thought before she spoke, since she wanted to be sure she answered him correctly. "Yes, we could take the roads taken by merchants and find one in need of a guard detail. Foreigners would be best...they are kinder honestly." She said before her eyes went to the staff he had and then his face. " The Fereldan's can be foolish, but some are honorable. I met one, a Grey Warden that bought me my first drink. He was a kind man from Redcliffe that I traveled with for a time to get him back there. He was sick and wanted to be home." She said, with no hint of sadness or remorse, just stating fact. If the man did die, he died an honorable death and would be safe with whatever he believed awaited him. She then gave a shrug before settling back since she was assuming they were resting. "I'm sure there will be a Dwarf or Antivan looking for help nearby. They are always in need of guards." She said since she usually found her work like this.

"He would have gathered some one to his cause by now. He is very cleaver Caden." She said with a smirk when he mentioned getting eaten by a large wild dog. It was a funny image to think of it carrying around Venaloss by his arm like a stick. "We should find an elf- a tall elf with markings traveling with some one. he is too used to being alone." She said making it sound like he would be lonely- which she would have been. ------------------------ When she spoke on finding a foreigner as a traveling companion he smirked. "So there will be three of us then not from Fereldan- we three foreigners be." He said in a riddling tone with a smirk since it just struck him as funny. At the news of the Grey Wardens he nodded. He hadn't met any but he knew of them, and the old tales of them ridding to battle on the backs of Griffons. It would have been one hell of a sigh to see but sadly they were extinct. "I've never met a dwarf- lets find one of them." He said with some childish enthusiasm. He was sure Maraas would humor him since she seemed the easy going type.

Caden figured she knew the boy better, though Caden had his doubts. The boy was new to travel and had never been in Ferelden before. Here was much different than Tevinter, which meant survival would be harder. But he wouldn't argue with her since that would get them no where. The idea of him consigning help was not too far off though. He just hoped he didn't get mixed up with the wrong people like the Tal-Vashoth or the mercenaries that were bad news. He nodded when she repeated the description, his attention going to the scenery. "Alright, well we are about a days ride from the ports. If we continue on through nightfall we will be there in time to see if we can find a trace by morning. Sound like a plan?" He asked since he wanted to at least have the best outcome. ~~~ When he made a rhyme she gave a small laugh, the humor actually making her smile. It wasn't common for Qunari to smile this much but she was having a good time. "Alright, a Dwarf it is. There are many that head to Denirim." She said, looking pleased with the idea. Though they could be loud and vulgar people, she did like them because they never looked at her funny. Most she worked for even paid her well, even having a few drinks as a thank you. She knew Venelass would like them. "Well, to travel we need sleep. I will take first watch. Please rest." She said, since she felt wide awake since her sleep cycle could keep her awake for a few days.
