"Ms. Claire Beckett?" The receptionist called out to the room but was staring straight at Claire. Claire looked up from her poetry book, looking uneasy at the attention as she rose from her seat. She quickly headed over to the woman there, noticing her name tag said Brandy. Before Claire could speak, Brandy handed her a schedule. Claire saw that her first class was physics. Seems the school didn't want to go easy on her. They would still make her work for that scholarship it seemed...and early in the morning. She had already been there an hour while they worked out her schedule with the classes she needed for the medical program. Now she had classes to attend and she was a bit nervous to be in a new place... "Thank you. When do I collect the book stipend--" She began but Brandy cut her off. "Ms. Beckett you can call the office later. However, you are going to be late to your first class." Claire looked down at her schedule quickly, having to push her glasses up her face to keep them from falling. She had...20 minutes! And she didn't even know where this room was! She took off in a hurry out of the room, trying to decipher her map the school gave her. She was halfway down a strange hall that looked about right when she ran into the first sign of life. In the middle of her path, a couple yelling at one another quickly and in heavy Cagney. Claire slammed to a halt but couldn’t evade sliding and running into the large male. He whirled on her and narrowed his blue eyes at her. “S-sorry I didn’t mean to-“ Claire stammered as she fumbled her to put her glasses back on her face. When she looked back up, she noticed he was sneering at her. “Sod off will you, this isn’t a place for a damn yank!” He snarled, pushing past her and making Claire stumble into the other girl in the hall. She caught Claire by the arm before she could fall over. “Oh sorry-I didn’t mean to interrupt!” She said with a rather confused and frazzled look towards the girl. She gave Claire a shake of her head and offered her a bright smile. “No problem, friend. Just ignore him. That smarmy git.” Claire still looked uneasy, but the woman hardly looked bothered. How could she get in that kind of fight and just brush it off? “Don’t look so scared kid. Honestly, his bark is worse than his bite.” The girl’s grey-blue eyes flicked down to the paper in Claire’s hands. “So you are a new face, American. The names Paige Albright, people call me Posh.” She smirked at Claire’s shy aversion of the eyes and plucked the schedule from her hands. “Claire Beckett? Totally brill!” She giggled, putting an arm around Claire’s shoulder, adjusting her bag over her shoulder. Claire looked uncomfortable from the close contact with a stranger. But she didn't want to be rude and would be okay with the contact for a while yet. “Um, thank you…?” Claire replied quietly and Paige let out a loud laugh. “You’re welcome, Kitten. And you can thank me later, in class. We have Physics together!!” Claire didn’t know whether to be relieved or scared pale, so she settled for a mix of both as they walked into the room. “Hey, Schwartz!” Paige all but shouted when they walked in the room, her arm still around Claire’s neck. “Got fresh meat for the class. Wonder how long this one will last?” She gave Claire a wink, in a way Claire guessed meant she was kidding. She let Claire go so she could introduce herself. Claire looked at the professor, but her eyes quickly averted when she caught a look at him. He looked young, like he wasn't much older if not the same age as her. Not to mention, he was attractive, even though he looked a bit tired. She of coruse wouldn't say that aloud or stare awkwardly at the poor man as she was sure most girls did. Besides he was probably already engaged or married by now. "Good morning, Professor Shwartz. I just enrolled in this class, understandably late." She said softly, till she realized she hadn't introduced herself. "I'm Claire Beckett, though I'm probably not on your roster yet." She said before giving an awkward little fiddle with her bag strap. Suddenly, Paige had her arm and was guiding her up the seats to a spot in the middle of the auditorium. "Sorry, that was just kind of painful to watch, Kitten. You're a shy one aren't you?" Paige said with a smirk, before digging in her bag for her notebook. CLaire tried to follow suit though her eyes did train back to the front of the room. She was actually quite intimidated by the equation on the board, but she felt she could handle it with a little persverance and trial and error. She wasn't top student in her medical science major for nothing...

Matt was working on organizing by date the most recent notes he had printed out for a possible new student. When Posh came strutting in with a new person- all but announcing her news he smirked. She was always so loud- but smart. “Keep it down Paige before I kick you out of class.” He commented to make it sound real like a threat but in all honestly he wouldn’t. As the girl introduced herself he took a moment to scribble her name on the attendance before letting Posh take her to a seat. After a few minutes of finishing up organizing the note he moved up the steps a bit and handed her a rather thick stack of printed notes, slides, and examples- as well as completed study guides since she hadn’t been present for the tests. The bell rang after a second so he returned to his desk and called attendance fairly quickly. When he got to the bottle of the list where Claire’s name was he gave her a warm smile. “ Welcome to the UK and Imperial University. You may call me professor Schwartz. And I’m the advanced placement Physics professor here.” He stated being formal however he did glance down his nose at Posh- his glasses slipping a little,” Help her keep up today please.” He asked her since he knew Posh could help. “Miss, I need to ask you some information after class If you would stop by on your way out of the room." He stated giving Claire a look since he figures say it now or forget. Getting up he went back to the board behind his desk and got his lazer pointer. "Who can tell me what this is?" He looked around the room and the questioning started. He didn't concern himself with the new student just yet- over looking her over completely til the final bell rang, giving the poor girl time to get her grip. He took a breath then, he had the class on edge in his lecture about how the Photons and the Higgs never mix stably. Taking his seat finally he took a sip of his coffee. It had gotten cold during his two hour lecture, not that he minded too much.

Claire gave a soft look at the welcome and explanation of who Professor Schwartz was. He seemed the serious type, but that was expected of a scientist. Most in her field were serious and over-achievers. Not that she was holding that against him. After all, he wouldn't be an advanced professor if he wasn't passionate about his work. Also, he gave her notes on the class from the days she missed, which was a kind gesture. When she was told to meet him after class, she gave a polite nod at the news she had to stay after, even if she had another class to get to 30 minutes after. She opened up her notebook to begin scribbling down notes where the notes he gave her left off. Paige leaned over, gesturing to the board. "Watch and learn. Any questions just ask. I can loan you my notes if you need them." Claire gave her grateful smile, even if it was shy. "Thanks Paige--" "Posh! Now pay attention!" Paige gave her a thumbs up before raising her hand to answer. The class was busy answering questions and scribbling notes when necessary. Most were the top students if they stayed in that class. By the time class was over, Claire's head felt like it was spinning and she was trying not to look like a deer in headlights. She knew that she could get it if she applied herself, but it was quite a bit to take in. She might have to rely on Posh or another classmate to help her catch up. "Alright, Claire. Do you have anyone to eat lunch with? We should get together and enjoy the day." Claire rose a brow, showcked that Paige was suddenly inviting her to something. She wasn't used to someone being this friendly with her, since she was the shy quiet type. She usually was too awkward for friendly people like Paige. "S-Sure. Um I have English after this but I should be done by 1." Paige pulled out her phone and gave it a glance over with a smirk. "Sounds brill. I'll catch you after and give you a tour to the quad. I'm sure student services hasn't given you one yet since you're late in the year. See ya." She said, giving her a finger wave before prancing down the stairs. She stopped by Matt's desk and gave him a bright smile. "When you need a break, text me if you're down. I'll be showing the new girl around till then." She said more confidentially to him before she went out to go to her next class. She had an advanced anthropology class she was toying around with since the professor was old and often just showed a movie or two. It was a good break from her rigorous schedule. Claire saw the two talk and figured that Paige may have been a favorite student or something. She made her way down to his desk, making sure she didn't interrupt him with another student before she spoke to him. "You asked to see me about information, Sir?" She asked since she was rather curious about what he needed to know. She figured it had to do with something the registrar's office hadn't sent him. She noticed a few girls leaving were giggling and whispering something about wishing they had time to stick around to talk to the 'hot' teacher and it made her fidget a bit to keep from blushing.

Glancing up from his coffee he saw Posh prancing down the steps towards his desk, instead of a straight shot to the door. At the comment he nodded since it made sense, she did seem to have singled out the new girl but he knew she went well. He gave her a nod in confirmation to her words as she made her way off to her next class. He glanced back towards the class when another student came up and commented on a note he made on their test. It was an easy fix, thankfully they could correct things in this class, else a lot might have worse grades. He picked up his coffee only to bring it to his lips before the new girl- Claire was it? Came up to his desk. "Your schedule." he stated smoothly offering out a hand for it since he needed to see it to see what her open blocks looked like verses his classes so he could get the girl caught up. No one ever said he was a cruel teacher when he offered to get them all caught up- but if they didn't put in the effort they would fail. He ignored the gossiping ones form the back of the class since he knew they were acquainted with Natalie and regardless she knew that his students were off limits to harass, he was just being a good teacher with this. When she passed him her schedule, he compared it quickly to his and made a note on her list about a study session in the library for tomorrow to get a brief catch up session on what she had missed perhaps. Handing it back he smiled at her in a nice way. "To help you get caught up so you don't fail out. I know how hard it can be to be on an internship here." He stated smoothly to her so she would understand he only wanted to help.

Claire was a bit confused and caught off guard when he asked for her schedule. What would he need with that? Was he worried she was in the wrong class? Was she in the wrong room? She calmed her nerves when she realized they were getting out of hand. Instead, she fished the schedule out of her bag and offered it to the professor. She fidgetted with her hands as she stood to wait for him to figure out what he wanted from that schedule. When he handed it back with a date and time written at the top, she gave him a soft smile in return. It was kind that he was offering her a way to catch up, let alone that he recognized she might struggle and offered to help before that happened. "Thank you. I realized it was a lot to cover in an hour---Not that you didn't explain it well," She clarified before she cleared her throat and continued. "Anyways, I'll be there. Have a good day, Professor." Her voice was meek as she scurried out to make sure she made it on time for her next class. English was awful. The text was dry, the professor was boring, but she made it through with some luck and a coffee half way through the lecture. By the time she made it out, Posh was talking with a few girls outside the classroom. When she spotted Claire, she said goodbye to them and hurried over. "Oi kitten, let's go to the quad for lunch. I'm starving." She giggled before gesturing for CLaire to walk with her. CLaire was a bit unsure about spending all this time with a stranger, but she figured she didn't have anything else to do. Posh took her around the campus on the way to the quad, pointing out the buildings and areas she would need to know. Eventually, they made it to the large grassy area where students were hanging out around the food options and the open spaces for slacking off/studying. Claire smiled when she saw the pretty tree, fantasizing about getting to spend an afternoon reading under it. "So tell me a bit about you Claire. You seem nice enough, but hey--you never really know a person right?" She asked but it got a funny look from Claire. Posh reflected on her words before she gave a sincere frown. "Sorry I tend to speak my mind. life's too short not to. Please tell me a bit about you. I want to get to know you since you're new and look like you could use a friend." Paige had always liked helping people out and becoming friends with those that needed them. She felt wrong if she didn't try and who knows, maybe this Claire wasn't so bad.A Afterall, that's how she became best friends with Matt... Claire pondered that a moment before she decided to speak up. "Well you know I'm American. I'm from Chicago originally, but I moved alot because of my father's job with travel magazines--" "Really? That sounds cool. Where have you lived?" "Africa, Netherlands, Spain, parts of the US." She shrugged and looked at her hands, though Posh wasn't done with the questions. "So what made you choose to come to England? It seems dreary in comparison." Posh joked and Claire gave a small shake of her head. "Not really. I've always wanted to visit. And I got a scholarship to this college. It's known for it's sciences and it would be a surefire way for me to join a medical sciences career at a major hospital." Posh looked surprised by that, but also wasn't. The girl looked stiff enough to be a doctor. "So you want to be a doctor? Interesting. Can't say I have a love for it. I hate blood." Claire gave Posh a small smile since this was the first easy conversation she had had. When you traveled alot and were on your own, you forgot how it was to just stay in one place and think about making friends. Though Posh was loud, she seemed sweet and CLaire felt it might be worth getting to know her. "And you, Pai--Posh? Why do they call you that?" Claire asked suddenly and Paige gave a smirk. "It's a nickname that means classy. Obviously, I am the epitome of high society, darling." She said with a falsely pompous voice that made Claire smile some at how it sounded so exaggerated in her accent. "Also I like to keep up appearances. Never dull." She got in line for a sandwich and gave Claire a thoughtful look with her lips pursed. "What else about me...Um, I'm an Aries. I like good parties and shopping. Oh and I'm pretty interested in science. Not sure what to do with it yet...I like the Killers and I think booze and pizza could change our country's problem if people would just lighten up." She said with a joking grin that made Claire blink at first before she actually began to laugh a little. Posh was glad to see the smile and figured this uptight girl might just need a little chipping away at that shell to really show her true colors.

As the girl stumbled over some of her words to not make it sound like he was a boring teacher, he smirked. He gave her a nod as she left to catch her next class no doubt but decided to get some fresh coffee since he had another class coming up. He quickly returned to find none other then Natalie- his girlfriend, sitting behind his desk, looking through others' test grades. He frowned before coming closer and putting his coffee down and taking them away, making the girl scowl. "I was reading those." She stated getting a frown from Matt in return. "Its against school policy Natalie. Now get out from behind my desk and get to your own seat." He stated sounding irritated however that only seemed to make her act up a bit more. She turned her scowl into a pout and flaunted her chest a bit, not that it did her any good with him. "But Matty..." She stated but he shook his head and pulled her from him seat before pointing to any other desk in the room since he obviously wasn't in the mood for this today. She had noticed he was moody lately but didn't think it had ANYTHING to do with her. She was perfect after all.
Matt took the time before class to message Posh about possibly hanging out for lunch in the library- and to let her know about the study session tomorrow- in case she wanted to come along.

Paige was in the middle of convincing Claire to go to one of the parties on campus tomorrow night, but a text from Matt distracted her a moment. Paige smiled some at the idea of getting time with her best friend since over the last few years they had drifted apart some. While they were still close, Natalie had made a point to drive a wedge between them. She got jealous when Paige was completely alone with him and made an effort to keep them apart when they even tried to be around each other. Ever since that party where things got...odd...Paige hadn’t really had much time with Matt that Natalie didn’t get involved in. Not that she minded, if Natalie hadn’t suddenly gotten rude and bitchy with her. When she tried to hang out with Natalie, she just rubbed the relationship in her face or tried to make Paige the brunt of her complaining or jokes. It got so negative and toxic that Paige eventually stopped making an effort to be nice. At first she did it because she figured Matt had told Natalie about the awkward kiss but Matt didn’t seem to remember much about that night. Not that Paige wanted him too....It was best he forgot... For Matt’s sake at least... “Matt wants to meet up for lunch. You in?” Paige asked Claire, who gave a small frown. She wasn’t sure who this was and wasn’t sure she was really invited. What if this was Posh’e boyfriend? “Um is that okay? I do have to unpack anyways...” Claire said before Paige gave a quick nod. She actually found it a bit funny that Claire would soon realize Matt was their professor...she wouldn’t tell her but let her figure it out herself. It made things less awkward. “Oh yeah Matt is super chill. His girlfriend not so much. But we don’t have to worry about her.” Paige said before grabbing her things and guiding Claire to the library with her. They found a seat in the little cafe area by the books. Claire left her to gravitate towards the books which made Posh roll her eyes. Great she was surrounded by book worms. When Matt made it to the library, she waved him over with a smile. “Hey stranger. Did your last class give you trouble? You’re looking like you’re on coffee 5.” She said, offering him the soda she had since she was trying to cut down on her sugar.

Matt felt exhausted since he had to bat off Natalie’s 40 thousand questions about what he was going to be doing while she was in her last class. He said he would be grading in the library, and for her to leave him be. It wasn’t like he was running around to attend sex parties and cheat on her, lord have mercy- she made it seem like everyone was out to steal him away, not that he wouldn't appreciate the help lately. They had been arguing every day, and almost all the time, thankfully the majority of that time was when he was home and not at school. He made his way, slowly since he was exhausted, to the library where he glanced around and saw Posh at the cafe, waiting. She was really his best friend in everything, hell even his wing man per sa. He didn’t bother waving back just headed to the table, taking a seat with a huff, putting his bag down. At the coffee comment he smirked, taking the soda offered since it was Posh, wasn’t like she was sick or anything. He took a sip before relaxing a little, leaning back in his chair. “ Natalie is getting on my nerves like none other. And it’s coffee seven. I think I might need to cut back.” He joked back after stating the main issue. “Caught her digging for the answer key today before class, talk about cheating.” He Stated with a roll of his eyes before he glanced about a bit. “So what’s good with you Posh?” He asked in a playful like tone since Paige never mad him mad over silly things- she was his best friend she actually understood him.

Paige rolled her eyes when he mentioned Natalie was annoying him. That seemed like the story most of the time. The news that she was cheating though was new. She looked surprised but let it fade as she shook her head. “Damn I need to invite her to the party tomorrow so we can swap cheat sheets.” She teased but dropped it because she knew he didn’t like the idea of those using their wealth or anything to get ahead of people. “Well my dorm has a great futon if you ever need it.” She said before the question about her own life made her shrug. “Been busy with honors classes and keeping up my social life. I’m not about to fall behind on all the food, gossip, and drinks just to spend an extra night on tests.” She gave another roll of her eyes. “Oh and you remember the new boy-toy, Daniel? He is pissed with me because I accepted Graham’s invitation to the party tomorrow in the abandoned science building. Says I’m being too wild—whatever that means. You’re invited by the way, by yours truly. You need a break to be an average college bro.” She said since she cared to see him happy for once.

At the offer of a good futon he smirked and just shook his head because he had to use it once or twice. Usually too drunk to function but it was safe to sleep on. At the news that she wasn’t slacking off in either sections of her life he nodded with a smile because she was good at balancing things, unlike him. He was one or the other- hardly both. At the news that her new not-boyfriend was pissed wasn’t honeslty a surprise. Anyone who was attempting to get and stay with Posh was sadly mistaken since she was usually pretty free reigned and liked her space. The invitation to the party made him raise a brow in question. “ well, I guess I can’t refuse the invitation coming from you. “ he joked before gibkingbo it a moment longer. “ what time? Because I have a study session to catch the new girl up then I have a salon appointment. Natalie says she likes my hair long- so I think I’m going to cut it.” He Stated since he was annoyed with her so he was working on driving her off since the talks that he starts intending to break it off end in her threatening to hurt herself. He didn’t want that but he did want her away from him. He was a human not a bloody pet or a piece of property.

Posh winked when he joked about not being able to refuse, since it was true. He didn’t often tell her no, unless it was something too wild. Matt was usually up for fun, as long as it wasn’t too dangerous. The question of time made her almost immediately answer, but he went on to say he was catching the new girl up and cutting his hair to cheese off Natalie. That made her snicker. “I liked it short. It made you look your age honestly and it doesn’t hide your face.” She began but realized how that dame off as though she minded how he looked and quickly covered it up with smirk to keep from blushing. “ The girls in the back of the class may pay attention more if the got to see you more.” Paige said jokingly before she pulled out her phone to text him the details. “It’s at 8 but no one is getting there till 9. It’s a bender so be prepared to drink and there will be other chicks including the new girl so Nat will most likely be weird if she comes or get angry if she doesn’t and finds out. Just a warning. Besides I’m working the new girl into my circle, so don’t scare her away with your physics too quickly. She seems nice if not mousy. The quiet ones usually end up being the better friends for me anyways.” She said since Matt was her other deceivingly quiet friend that ended up being outgoing but the best.

When Posh began talking about liking his hair short he smirked since Posh used to tell him what was better to wear all the time, he usually took that advise. At the comment of the girls in the back of the class he rose a brow. “If they got off their phone and actually read their books they wouldn’t be having such issues anyhow.” He brushes the comment off since it was true. At the comment about what Natalie would do he frowned but gave a nod. “ bloody hell I could use a bender Posh. Natalie has been making my life hell.” He Stated but as if he summoned the devil his phone began to ring with Natalie’s ring tone. He gave a huff before taking a sip of the soda and answering the phone. “ what now?” He Stated a bit blandly before the person began going off on him over not being home already. He rolled his eyes and gave Posh a wink,” I was grabbing a soda with Posh- chill.” He Stated but that only seemed to escalate the situation. He pulled the phone away from his ear as she screamed at him. “ Sorry Posh - catcha later.” He stated before he pulled her study guide out of his bag and left it on the table with a written sheet- not graded yet on things she needed to fix before class, if she wanted higher marks. He often did this with her papers since he wanted to keep his friend in his class, it was best to keep his sanity after all. He left and headed back towards his car, figuring the sooner he got back the less screaming would be involved.

Posh’s brows knitted when he mentioned that Natalie was driving him crazy. Was she getting bad again? She knew she had pushed Matt to drink on multiple occasions, but she mostly tried to stay out of Matt and Nat’s business. It bothered her to listen to it anyways since she knew she hoped in setting them up... When Matt got up, she gave him a smile that softened when he placed her study guide down. Some corrections here and there but a good mix...Matt was too good to her. “See ya.” She mouthed before turning back to her food and relaxing. Soon Claire came back looking content as she toted a large book of poems with her. She paused however when she saw Posh looked a bit lost in thought. “Is something wrong?” She asked, making Posh snap out of it. “Ah no, just worried about Matt. The girlfriend is bothering him.” Claire nodded some but looked confused as to why she didn’t see the other person’s things there. “He had to leave because of the girlfriend. Anyways, let’s get you to the dorms, while you have a period free. I want to see who your Roomate is and what is going on with your decorating.” Claire followed Posh to the dorms, finding they were in a co-ed dorm but it was separated by gender by floors. Claire was towards the top, where she could see out a little into campus from the tiny window by her bed. Claire was a bit thrown off at how small the room was, let alone how much clutter the Roomate could fit in her side. Seems this girl was a bit of pack rat. Thankfully the girl was gone when Claire arrived which allowed her time to unpack. When she had her books neatly on the shelf and her blankets and sheets on the bed with her pillows, Claire allowed herself to relax some. That ended when the next period began and Poah came to collect her to show her where her class was, some sort of math for medical practice...
The next morning Claire was up on time and ready for class. Her Roomate was still out so she was able to use the room to get dressed and ready. She chose a simple pair of jeans and a sweater since the day was supposed to be foggy and misting rain. She wandered into class and sat by Posh, who was holding the study guide. Claire was curious at how she had it marked already but figured she was tutored or something. After all, Professor Schwartz seemed to be helping quite a few people...

One would have assumed that showing up at home and apologizing for having friends was enough to put a damper on the sitatuon however it only seemed to escalate it more. Matt didn’t mind it so much, even if he slept in his car in the front of his place- not wanting to be sujected to the screaming all night- since he already had a headache. He went inside- seeing. Her still sleeping, clearly going to miss her first class, not that it was his problem, if she failed it was on her. He made coffee, took a quick shower and changed. He glanced into the office space and noticed it was thoroughly trashed, meaning she got what ever it was out of her system last night- on his things. He purses his lips before grabbing his phone charger from the kitchen and grabbing a breakfast sandwich on his way out the door. On the way to work he called a locksmith, setting an appointment for that Friday, wanting his over with, it was stressing him out and it was his own damned house- why should he get locked out of it? Getting to school, he plugged his phone in by his desk before opening the blinds in his room and began writing things on the board, knowing some students were earlier then himself but he didn’t mind, he had a rough night anyhow, they could bite him. Passing by Paige’s desk he swiped her paper that was no doubt corrected and threw it on the pile on his desk before he gave a sigh and sipped his coffee, looking like he didn’t get much sleep last night. The board behind them stated that it was a review day since the test was tomorrow, therefore it was a study hall today- much to a lot of people’s relief it seemed. He gave everyone back their guides to look over again, with red ink corrections on them- all but paiges’ of course and went back to his desk. “ if you have questions, class related only- you can come up and make a line if needed for help. On the board I have written the answer and how to get the answer to the part you all seemed to have been snoozing through. Copy it down properly and learn it this time.” He stated before turning and writing it up on the board for then, talking them through it once before sitting back down and looking tired.

Claire watched Professor Schwartz come collect Paige’s paper and looked a bit curious at how tired he looked. It didn’t seem like the man slept much. She wondered if that was just something in his personality or if something was wrong. Not that she would ever ask, but it was concerning to see someone stressed. Was the job at this university really that rigorous? He did look young enough to be her age...maybe he was some kid genius? “—Make sure to learn it this time.” Claire blinked when she realized she had been zoning out. A nervous frown pulled at her lips at the realization that she had missed something he said. Thankfully, Paige looked on top of it and turned to look at Claire. “Alright Kitten, I’m here to help if need anything before your study session with the teach. Now pass me your packet.” Paige said and Claire offered it to her. While Paige sifted through it, Claire spared a glance at the front at the Professor. Maybe she would have to reschedule with him so that he could take a nap or relax. After all Posh was dragging her off to a party later that she didn’t want to go to. Maybe she could skip it because of studying for the test tomorrow? She wasn’t much of a party girl, mostly because she never really was invited to them or was too socially awkward to get involved with them. She just didn’t like crowds and the idea of doing something awkward or embarrassing in front of people made her want to crawl back into bed and not try. It was her heart of a perfectionist and striving to be better than herself that made her so anxious. That and she wasn’t used to being invisible. “You Can quit staring longingly at our teacher whenever you’re ready to get this work done.” Claire jumped when she heard Paige whisper in her ear, sounding almost annoyed with her. Claire blushed hard at the accusation and quickly shook her head. “I wasn’t staring. I was zoning out. I’m sorry.” Her eyes averted and she tried not to fidget in her seat. She heard Paige snicker and she gave Claire a pat on the shoulder. “It’s okay i was just teasing. Now let’s take a look at this one here...” by the time they finished the period, Claire felt she had more of a grasp on things. She took her time to get her things together but realized she wasn’t too positive what to bring with her to the study session. She wanted to bring everything but felt maybe just the study guide and the book would suffice? She bit her lip and realized she was slightly nervous to be on her own around the Professor that seemed leagues smarter than her. Well, she just hoped he forgave her lack of knowledge... “So I’ll be catching you in the library after I talk to Daniel. Take your time and don’t worry. Schwartz doesn’t bite. I’ve known the guy for years and he’s a good guy.” Paige said as though catching her hesitation. Claire offered a small nod before she went to get to her next class. She gave the professor a small wave to acknowledge him before she went onto English. It took her forever to get through the class and to the library. The Professor had stopped her to ask her questions and only let her go when she stated she had a study session to make. She made it to the library it seemed before the professor so she decided to set everything out. After she was done, she pulled her hair up into a high bun and gave a soft sigh. Perhaps she was worried over nothing. There was no way she could embarrass herself when he was offering to help her, right? Deciding she needed to calm her nerves, she grabbed her poetry book from her bag and began to read from the point she left off. It was a poem by her favorite poet, Emily Dickinson, who was describing the sweet little song birds her mother used to talk about were outside her window in Brighton...it was a soothing image to say the least.
