Katsuo wasn't pleased with Kogen's argumentation, mostly because the old man needed to learn to sit down and take a knee to his betters. It was obvious that the Tsukiyo took this as an act of defiance from the demons, since in all honesty none expected it. Katsuo knew the demons would not stay quiet in light of information meticulously being leaked to them about their captured brethren's fates, all intentional of course. It was a rather clever ploy on Oshiro Manami's part actually. Rattle the cage so the animals were forced out of hiding so to speak. Just like caged animals they would all be slaughtered in due time, their abilities harvested for better uses. Katsuo offered Kogen a light smirk at his rather brash comment of being to low on the totem pole to be privy to prior planning. Oh how right the little man was, pity he had more sense than the other twit just bobbing her head along to whatever she was fed. When this natural order, this Kogen spoke of was upset, Katsuo would be sure the man learned his place. "And so you would have us bend to these unnatural beasts? Odd coming from the head of a clan that was a major force in banishing them the first time. Seems the mighty Otomo have become comfortable with fear..." Katsuo commented basically calling them cowards, no cattiness in his tone but something much colder and calculating. He wasn't one to be questioned, not when he had no reason to explain reasoning to someone that would never understand the true magnitude of what their research set out to accomplish. Manami winced at Katsuo's question, her head bowing some in a small apology she knew the Tsukiyo wouldn't give. They never apologized, even when their mouths could get a bit testy... Before she could speak however, the clan head for the Tsukiyo spoke up, her voice holding a sharper edge. "Katsuo, that is no way to speak to your seniors, child." She warned, making Katsuo tense, his eyes flicking in her direction. An unspoken static raged there for the briefest of seconds. In a show of grace, his expression softened to almost innocent sincerity and he bowed his head to Kogen. Manami had to say she hadn't expect to ever see an apology of any form from him, but she felt it at least bandaged something to see the young man get scolded properly for stepping out of line. The Tsukiyo clan head looked to Kogen and the Seshiru, her expression serious but there was a slight exhaustion there. "It was not my intention to keep this knowledge a secret. I simply did not condone the ideas of war myself until it threatened my family, my granddaughter and chosen successor." Katsuo's body went rigid, his head snapping in the direction of the clan head, his expression betraying a shock that was palpable on the man's usually well guarded and controlled mask. Even Manami looked surprised, her eyes widening some but more in joy than pure disbelief like Katsuo. So her son was to marry a clan head...How fortune smiled upon her. The clan head ignored the stares and continued, "We will act first. I have decided that my family is not going to be subject to allowing the demons to make a mockery of my family and their safety come into question. I will admit that this war is not based on pride alone, or sparked by a simple childish display of the demon. They were banished from our world once and I believe it's time they serve a better purpose." She motioned to Manami, who sat up a bit straighter, returning her attention to the others. She understood that a simple rally cry was not going to help them garner support, so maybe the promise of power would... "You see, friends. Sohren has always made clear their interests in researching the demons to decipher their magics and power...We intend through much of our time and investment to properly harness this natural power they possess and reapply it to better, more beneficial uses." She said, before drawing out an iPad, her finger grazing a video displayed that caused it to begin playing. It showed the hum of machinery, a static like energy gathering into a container, bouncing and morphing like a living being trying to escape. However the video screen suddenly turned bright white and in a flash the energy dissipated. She placed the iPad down, flicking the video aside to show a picture of the energy again. "Research has yielded promising results...Think of the possibility for our kind. Their magic can be harnessed quite easily now. It has even been used on tests of healing and reconstructive properties." She said, eyes bright like a curious child explaining their science project. She really did love the idea of scientific intrigue even if the methods were...a bit barbaric... "It is not a war we seek necessarily, but a way to rid ourselves of a problem that has been a thorn in our sides even past their days of banishment." The clan head said and Manami nodded, her eyes locking on Kogen. "With this power war will be something won in a matter of moments. The demons will retaliate, but only to find that they are outmatched by their own might. Understand that I do not wish for bloodshed, none of us do. But I do wish for a future safe for our future generations. Allowing the demons to dictate our reality will not give them security but an impending doom when they do grow strong enough to exact revenge for our ancestors rebellion. If I can do something to prevent my child from seeing a world controlled by those monsters again, I will do it. I hope you understand Otomo-san, Hashiji-san. This is why the Oshiro are in full support of Sohren and Tsukiyo." Manami said before collecting her tablet. Katsuo regained himself in the time speaking, his expression complacent as he spoke again to the room. "This power of course would be extended to all clans. The governing council will preside over its use of course, creating an equality I know we all could stand to have. It is not selective, but an opportunity for all of us. We deserve a better station than what the non-magical community allows us, our power to be viewed as a pariah to normal society...even you can agree with that?" He stated his mind still trying to pick up the pieces of what kind of stroke his grandmother must have suffered to name Yumino her heir.

Kogen's eyes focused sharply on Katsuo as the boy retorted to his bold words. His eyes pulled tight as the child spoke and a child he would now forever be to Kogen for the words he spoke felt dirty and the more filth that spouted from Katsuo's mouth the more Kogen's arms itched as he longed to removed his bindings and teach the young fool just what fear really was. However, that was not an option. Not now and not ever as far as Kogen could decipher. It was a testament to Kogen's strength of will that he remained silent after the insult hidden between words. He was being called a coward, however if fearing for the lives of his clan made him a coward than what was the leader who hid behind numbers? Alas, Kogen would not be provoked by a man child who thought himself smarter than he was. Demons were not unnatural beasts, though if Kogen ever spoke that aloud than he would be severely punished. In fact, they were an essential part of the balance of natural magic. Demons unlike witches, are magical creatures. The fact that they could alter nature itself proved how integral they were. It was strange to him how hate and power blinded so many from the facts. If being a warrior had taught him anything than it was that one must have a clear picture of who the enemy really is, despite prejudices. He knew the demons of now were not good, gracious creatures. They were spiteful, cruel, and evil. Before they had been dethroned, so to speak, demons had nearly ruled over every facet of human life. If you looked back at history, many demons were not cruel or spiteful then. In fact, quite a few had been just in their falsely divine positions. Kogen would never speak these research observations aloud, however, he felt he had a more clear picture of what their soon to be enemy would be like. Not that he was necessarily going to let the other clans in on his observations. He did want to gain a better foot hold after all. Seshiru was lightly smirking at the Tuskiyo boy's words. She found it amusing and quite just that the white haired fool was called a coward. She quickly hid away her amusement as the Tsukiyo head spoke, chastising Katsuo for his words with a man who was his superior, at least in rank title he was. She watched as Katsuo bowed to Kogen and the white haired clan leader simply smiled and raised his hand gently off the table as if saying it was not necessary. Seshiru, however, noted the cool eyes with which Kogen eyes Katsuo. Those were not the eyes she was used to seeing from the lazy witch. She perked to attention when the Tsukiyo head began speaking directly to Kogen and her. The news that Yumino was to be the next Tsukiyo clan head seemed to cause a mixture if emotions throughout the room. Kogen found himself childishly pleased at the reaction Katsuo displayed. Seshiru simply blinked, not caring much besides the fact that the girl was quite young and were there not rumors of her being much too weak? The emotions quickly settled however, and the Tsukiyo head continued in speaking. They were to make the first true move against the demons, if the Tsukiyo wanted to protect their family than it meant that all the clans would band together for the same cause, at least that was had it had always been in the past. Manami had her turn to speak after the head. She brought out a flat screened electronic touchpad. Kogen wriggled his nose some in displeasure at the little machine. He was never very good with them. They tended not to like the magic imbedded in his skin. She showed them a short video, flashes and mechanical noises came forth from the screen. It memorized the room and Kogen sat wide eyed at the sheer potential that had been brought forth by the machinations of the Sohren and Oshiro clan's combined minds. He swallowed as Manami spoke more, stating that her clan was supporting the Tsukiyo. It seemed it was the two lowest clans turns speak their decisions. Seshiru was amazed by the little video that Oshiro Manami showed. Her words impacted Seshiru greatly. The young clan leader was amazed by what had been accomplished. She saw potential and it sparked behind her eyes. Katsuo's words only furthered her desire for more power for her clan. They needed every bit they could get. They were the underdogs who lived in the underground, cleaning up the scum and garbage left over from then more powerful clans. She wanted more fore her clan and this brought that opportunity, a war with the demons scared her. She knew the dangers and that there would be deaths. Still, it was worth the sacrifice for a better future. She knew her clan would feel the same and so she steeled her fluttering heart and bowed her head to the Tsukiyo head. "You shall have the support of the Hashiji clan as well. We will aid you however best we can." She spoke without a waver. She rose her head and glanced around the table, green eyes landing on Kogen whose expression was more solemn than she had ever seen. She supposed that the man had to at some point in time act like a leader and make decisions for this eye supposedly looked out for. Kogen was not surprised when Seshiru pledged herself to the war effort. He however, felt very torn on the decision. He didn't trust the Tsukiyo one bit. They we're sneaky with their words and intentions, hiding them sometimes even in plain sight. He didn't feel as though this power would be equally distributed. Why would the most powerful clan distribute what they would obviously be the ones to gain. They would only give out what they wished to share, if anything, his lips curled into an even deeper frown as he thought of his clan. His people looked to him to keep them afloat. He was in such a bind right now because to say no to these clans would mean the end of his leadership and potentially his clan. The thought and crossed his mind that he had some kind of upper hand but it was minimal. They needed his clans fighting ability. This under him were skilled and they would be needed. Still he couldn't risk his clans position by looking like a coward and not fighting a war, even if he didn't necessarily believe in the cause. He was supposed to be his clans voice and thus he chose based on what he knew they would desire. So after a long pause, he spoke, his features breaking out into his usual overly casual, boyish grin. "You can't have a good fight without a Otomo. You have my clans support as well." He bowed his head to the Tsukiyo head, eyes hardening as his face became hidden from all at the table, he did not have a great feeling about this war. Something in his gut told him that things were not going to go as smooth and planned as everyone else seemed to believe.

Katsuo looked pensive just waiting for the chips to fall into place. He knew the old man, like him or not would have to surrender his pride or face being seen as a coward. He was smart, that was a problem. The lower clans should have known their place by now...sad really. He preferred Hashiji, money grabbing filth they were. They at least were efficient and Katsuo knew he needed these clans to succeed. They had connections and numbers, power and force. It was what won wars. The confirmation from Hashiji was received well from the waiting families. Manami watched Kogen from her lashes, her head bowed some in solidarity. She knew this decision was difficult. It had been for her till her family came into question. She had to think of her child's future. Hiko and Yumino were going to be the seal that kept Oshiro from being wiped out in this war, let alone crushed by Tsukiyo. She was not going to watch centuries of work and magical blood be wiped off the face of the earth because her pride told her otherwise that this was a mistake. She knew it was wrong. That much was clear. But what choice was there but to follow when your future was held aloft daggers, just waiting to end in gore. Otomo clan's response garnered the room a lighter feel, but all knew that darkness lurked on the edge of the room. There was a danger and uncertainty in all this that could either lead to victory or demise. Katsuo was an optimist in this situation, despite prior realistic beliefs. They would see victory over the demons, he would see to that. The clan head bowed to the families, her face a picture of pride as she gave a small smile to the clans. "Thank you for your support, all of you. Surely we will see victory with the powers of Tsukiyo, Oshiro, Sohren, Otomo and Hashiji uniting once again to face this threat." The clan head's eyes shut a moment and all was quiet before she opened them again, looking tired and almost pleasant even with her stern expression. "For tonight let us conclude here. We will have more to discuss on days to come so that planning may begin. For now the hour is late and I'm sure your families are growing impatient. I wish you all a good night." She motioned and two men walked in the room, helping her to her feet and filing with her out of the room. Katsuo rose next, bowing stiffly before going to collect his wife that no doubt was off speaking with her friends from other clans. Manami gave a swift wave to the others, her eyes softening at the pair before she headed off to find her husband, father-in-law and son.
Katsuo found Haruka speaking with Hiko, her hands folded around a glass of water and bright blue eyes narrowed some from the giggle that came from her lips. He let a hand graze her lower back, letting her know he was back and would be expecting her attention. Haruka's back stiffened at the sudden contact, but a smile melted onto her features when Katsuo moved in next to her. "That's odd, Ruka. You love the Tsukiyo's choice of wines." Haruka shrugged at her husband, knowing he was just before courteous to her. Besides, she was more concerned about him. "Kat, may I ask how the meetings went?" She asked sincerely concerned, though it showed that she expected them to go well. Her husband was very wise after all, a good speaker and a proud Tsukiyo. Of course the clans would respect him. Katsuo offered her a smile, giving a nod. "Yes, Ruka. It went very well. A shame you couldn't be there Hiko." He almost teased, making Takehiko shoot him a smirk. "Eventually I will old man." He joked back before he was caught by the arm by his mother. "Hiko, we have to take your father home." Manami said, with no sense of urgency or anything but Hiko understood why. His father's health was poor already. It was no surprise the man wasn't feeling well or that they needed to leave for the night. Besides, he wasn't having much fun anyways knowing Yumino had locked herself in a room and was refusing to speak to anyone. He worried about her, truly he did, especially after nearly being killed by a demon. He wanted to comfort her, but understood she needed space. Perhaps tomorrow he could take her out on a proper date to make her feel better?

The meeting was well interesting to say the least. Many things happened that he wouldn't have ever expected much less he hadn't expected to meet half those people for a few more years at least. His aunt had pledged her support as was usual, but she left immediately after the meeting leaving him alone there in the hall making him a bit unsure. Heading outside he decided it was best to head home, since things had quieted down and he found he was more tired then he expected. He figured Momoko knew the meeting was over since her brother came back but who knew how that went over honestly.

Kogen was rather surprised by how quickly the meeting wrapped up after all allegiances were pledged. He figured though that it had been quite the roller-coaster of a night. Everyone was sure to be exhausted and as they all left, their minds were full and weighed heavy with the thought of war. Kogen was silent as he left. He bumped into Seshiru and apologized without a snarky comment. Seshiru seemed to almost not care, so lost was she in thought that it was almost an occasion for her husband to want to break open the champagne and celebrate. No one from Kogen’s family tried to speak to him, the two following him after he had left the meeting room. They could tell that there was something important on his mind by the shear fact his playful demeanor had been replaced by a stoic silence. He slowed as they walked among the flowers of the many Tsukiyo gardens and his aunt stepped up next to him, her hand resting gently on his forearm which was resting on the hilt of one of his swords absent mindedly. She looked at him with thin lips and a steady gaze, asking without words for him to tell them what was wrong. Kogen looked to his aunt and then to his cousin whose young face made the older man want to cringe. “There is to be war between the demons and our clans.” He stated, the fact feeling wrong on his tongue. His aunt frowned deeply and his cousin, though his training was complete, displayed his shock openly. The reactions were expected but Kogen had to wonder—did he make the correct choice? Seshiru was not so lucky to have the silence of her companions. She was bombarded with questions and pestered until her husband silenced them all with a harsh glare. She did not speak until they were in the limo that had brought them. War—it was not a topic she wanted to bring up. “The demons have proven themselves to be a useful power resource. We are going to try and use this power for the greater good, something that they are incapable of.” Seshiru said softly. “But won’t that mean war?” Takeshi questioned plainly, his incongruous eyes wide behind his navy rimmed glasses. Azari punched him in the arm hard and a shit-eating grin formed across her lips. “Sounds like fun.” She said simply. ~~~ Suki felt as though she had been waiting for quite some time. She had taken to climbing a tree and laying lazily about one of its branches as she watched the building Adrian had entered. She was bored after having explored the festival some more. She had a goldfish in a bag which she tapped occasionally, startling the poor thing. Soon enough, witches began exiting the building, their voices hushed and the aura about them tense. It made Suki frown but she waited until she saw a shock of familiar red hair before leaping to the ground and slyly sidling up to her little boy toy. She wrapped her arm into his and smiled, not knowing anything that had occurred inside. She had assumed, of course, that Sohta had been successful in his mission but she had yet to been contacted by him in any means. “How was the council meeting?” She questioned, a bit of extra pep in her perkiness because she was excited to have someone to talk to again. ~~~ The lights were dim in the little underground cellar. Candle light flickered amongst magic made mage light. Two figures sat next to each other on the cold concrete floor, faces looking gaunt from the shadows cast by the light around them. August was hunched over his third bottle of sake, violet eyes half-mast as his beautiful yukata sat crumpled about him. He looked to only be half paying attention to what the other figure was doing next to him. Lor was crouched on the ground, his feet barely warm due to the thin slippers he was wearing. He looked as though he had just woken up as his hair was mussed and eyes puffy. The blue robe about him was wrinkled, but he looked to be in no mood to care about such trivial things. His expression was a mixture of concern and delight. “You’ve skimmed through the book about five times now, Lor. It’s the real deal. Now will you get out!” August grumbled before taking a swig of sake. He didn’t even register the taste anymore. Lor didn’t even look at August but instead just giggled like a small child. “I can’t believe you actually did it! You barged right in and—“ Lor whistled. “I have to give you credit, Gus, you’ve got some balls.” “Don’t call me Gu—“ August began but was thrown off balance as Lor shoved him in the shoulder. “Lighten up! You have secured a large advance towards our victory against these damnable fool witches.” Lor glanced at August but had to do a double take. The shove Lor had given August had caused the demon prince to lose a good grip on his bottle of sake. In his feeble attempt to grasp it better, he had sent the fragile bottle careening over his shoulder. He had leaned back to catch it but instead fell on his back, the bottle cracking open on the ground just a fingerbreadth away from him. The expression on his face was too pathetic for even Lor to handle. August just sighed away at the situation muttering, “Shame…that was the good stuff.” Lor just blinked before frowning and standing, his shadow stretching out in multiple directions from the many different light sources around them. He walked over to August who was just saturating himself with self-pity and kicked him roughly in the ribs. August let out a hiss of pain and glared at his uncle. “Get your ass off of the ground and quite being a child.” Lor growled as his usual bubbly and kid-like enthusiasm draining away to reveal the reason why he was feared in their home land. August stayed put, just glowering and Lor kicked him again, anger coloring his pale cheeks and looking wrong on the face he had chosen. “Get. Up. Now.” His clipped words seemed to have no effect on August who was internally moaning at what he was sure were more broken ribs. He sat up, his expression not betraying his pain as he stayed silent, eyes cold with a hard anger. Lor grinned with malice and he pushed August’s head. August said nothing but Lor did it again and again and again. It was then that August’s patience broke down and he stood up quickly, swinging at his uncle who easily side stepped the not quite sober demon’s clumsy swing. August stumbled but caught himself on the ground, spinning around. His violet eyes glowed and his yukata was hanging off of his torso, showing bruising from the recent abuse from his uncle. He charged again and once more, Lor dodged easily. “Come on. You’re pathetic! You can do better or do I have to teach you how to fight like I had to your father.” Lor egged on the already emotionally fragile August who lunged at his uncle again, his balance not what it should have been. “Don’t mention HIM to me!” August snarled. He reached his hand out towards Lor and managed to claw a part of the stupid blue robe the annoying bastard was wearing. Lor let out a clipped chuckle, looking down at his robe which now had ribbons instead of a front pocket. “Why not? Why should I not mention him? Why are you so self-absorbed? We are a split second away from being in a war with the five most powerful witch clans and all you seem to be capable of doing is drinking away whatever pathetic little plight is bothering you now.” Lor lectured but grunted as he dodged a shard of the broken sake bottle that August chucked at him, his eyes ablaze and expression livid. “So just pull your head out of your ass and contribute some to those that helped give you life.” Whatever reaction Lor had been expecting from August at his little lecture, it wasn’t what happened next. The basement felt as though it dropped several degrees and a cold anger that Lor hadn’t felt in a long time swept out from August’s aura, nearly palpable as it tried to overtake everything. “What more do you want from me?!” August said softly and he dropped another shard of the sake bottle, this one glittering with blood from his grip being too strong. He took one step forward towards Lor and then another. “I have given this family everything. I gave all I could and more and what did I get? Oh, that’s right. I was banished from my home and forced into this hell hole where I cannot even be what I am without the risk of death.” August’s tone was like ice, but it was quickly melting into an inferno of uncontrolled anger. He was not going to tolerate this any longer. What did these demons expect of him? Was he to give everything of himself including the last beat of his heart and breathe of his lungs? “And now, after being gone for a few years, you decide you need my help so that you can stand against a bunch of inbred witches?” August laughed, stopping in his predatory stalk towards Lor. “What a load of shit.” He spit and ran his fingers through his white locks, blood from his hand staining them red. “I’ve now given up everything for my kind and yet still I am treated as an outsider. I had something good going here. Really, it was going great until this foolish mess of a war decided that I hadn’t given enough. My happiness destroyed. Fantastic, really fantastic. Thank you!” August was nearly yelling at this point but Lor looked unimpressed. “Are you done yet, boy?” He questioned and August let out an animalistic noise. He opened his mouth to protest more but Lor moved quickly, his hand around August’s neck as he held him in place, faces nearly touching. “You aren’t the only one who has lost their chance at love. Now quit acting like a child and take some responsibility. If you don’t like the hand you are dealt than steal a damned new one.” Lor’s tone was harsh and August stared wide eyed at his uncle. The man didn’t speak like this to him normally for August was his father’s son, prince of the demons. He supposed though that titles truly meant little to Lor who, by his own machinations, was an outcast in his own way. August opened his mouth but nothing came out and Lor let go of his neck, red marks left where his fingers once were. The older demon turned from his nephew and picked up the book that was lying on the ground. “Now tell me again the faces in the first two rows that you saw and we can try and trace their names and abilities.” Lor spoke in a businesslike manner but when he turned back to August, his usual boyish grin was plastered to his face. “This way we can better prepare you for the enemies you share the air with. Eh, Gus?”

Yumino woke from a knocking on the wood of the screen door, her eyes fluttering open with some grace only to shut tightly when met with the sunlight. Her body adjusted with effort, finding that she ached all over. Her eyes opened gingerly and she found that she was not on the futon but instead curled up on the cold hard wood floor near the doorway that lead to a beautiful garden area, hence where all the terrible light was coming in. The crick in her neck and back was not the only pain she felt, but her head, throat and eyes ached from the sobbing she had done the night before. The memories of the terrible night before made her stomach wretch from an emotional pain, only to find that she was currently empty of anything to give up. It made a harsh tremble go through her however, her eyes squeezing shut in an effort to calm her nerves. She was emotionally spent and physically worn down at the moment, her mind a bit too fragile to play catch up with the last 24 hours... The knock on the screen became heavier, obviously from someone who knew she was in there and wanted to speak. She climbed to her feet shakily, knowing she looked like hell no doubt but whoever it was would have to forgive her. She went to the door and slid the screen open a crack to peek out, finding a surprising guest there. It was her grandmother and a large male, one of her bodyguards from the night before. She quickly backed away from the screen and dropped into a low bow, allowing the man to push it open with little force on his part. "Good morning, grandmother. I'm sorry, I did not expect guests." She croaked, wincing at the harshness of her voice. But what could she expect after wasting so many tears on that monster...She tensed at her own thinking, remembering the talk with that same monster only nights ago, the glimpses she remembered from the night he carried her home...She hated him, but he wasn't a monster...just a very strange and terrible being. Her grandmother tisked at the formal introduction, before taking steps in Yumino's direction. She bent and picked her up by the arms, making the girl stand straight. She looked her over, eyeing her raw eyes and splotchy complexion, the mess of her hair and the ruffled state of her kimono. It was a look of weakness that no woman wanted to see in her lineage, but then again this girl was only half a Tsukiyo... "A Tsukiyo doesn't apologize so readily, child. If you are to wear that title proudly, you must be willing to put forth the pride and effort." She dropped Yumino's arms and gave her a once over. Yumino's throat tightened, realizing her grandmother was still judging her with those odd cat like eyes that felt like knives trailing down her skin, just looking for a weakness or crack to dig into. That was a Tsukiyo gaze most feared and the old woman had mastered as head of the clan. Yumino knew she must have looked disgraceful at the moment, but at the same time she hardly cared. She just wanted to crawl back into bed and forget...why couldn't she just forget? She adjusted her stance, letting a bit of anger fuel her to stand a bit taller, her face set in its usual emotionless mask. Her grandmother watched the transformation and what looked like a smirk graced her lips briefly before melting into a stern look. "Come, let's get you dressed and ready for the day...We have things to discuss." Her grandmother offered Yumino to follow her, something Yumino immediately followed. She knew her place, whatever grandmother said went. She didn't exactly want to be primped and picked apart by house staff, but she knew she had a lot to answer for after last night... ~~~ Katsuo grabbed his jacket, eyes pausing a moment at the mirror that sat in the hallway near where he left his shoes. His hair a bit of a mess today, having woken up late due to the festivities the night before. He had a lot to consider the night before, namely the war effort and the little bomb his grandmother dropped last night. That titched-in the head little halfbreed was to be the leader of the Tsukiyo...how soon exactly did she plan on implementing that decision? Certainly not soon since the girl hadn't even been properly trained. Hell she couldn't handle this clan or its leadership. She wasn't one of them, but maybe even a traitorous little black witch... "Kat, you look troubled darling." Haruka's voice came from behind him, soft and concerned as it usually did when she found him in one of his moods. He would prefer to be left alone in his thoughts, but often Haruka was an easy distraction. He turned and found her in the hall from the kitchen, her rather short robe showing off more skin than perhaps was tasteful, but Katsuo really wasn't paying that much mind. He had much to do today. In fact he was expecting a meeting in a few minutes. So he offered the simple woman a smile, one that held softer undertones of fondness that he was sure would appease her. "It is simply strain, Ruka...I am tired from last night." He said within a sigh, making Haruka come forward, her face easing some. "I apologize, I only wanted a bit of your attention--" She stammered, a blush coloring her cheeks as she fretted over his appearance to hide some nervous little energy. Katsuo gave her a smirk, shaking his head, knowing what she was referring to and that was hardly what had him remotely concerned. He caught her hand in his, his expression showing a sort of care for the woman. "Ruka, the meeting last night has my mind at odds. That's all." She pulled her hand away with a smile, her eyes batting in a cute sort of way. "Well I'm sure things shall only progress for the better. This war is for our greater good...That I know." She adjusted his tie properly before raising on her tip toes, planting a kiss to his cheek. Katsuo heard the car horn and knew it was the car he had ordered from the residence, causing Haruka to draw away. She looked disappointed, but at least satisfied when Katsuo gave her a soft kiss. "I'll be back late. But I have something for you to do for me." He said and Haruka nodded eagerly, like a puppy wanting to please its master in any way possible. Katsuo enjoyed the loyalty, especially since Haruka would come in handy for what he had mulled over this morning over coffee. "Visit my cousin. Become friends with her, for me..." He said before leaving her, knowing that the slight unease in Haruka's expression would subside soon enough and she would simply do as he asked. He made his way down from his flat finding a sleek looking black car on the street outside. He opened the door and slid in, finding Manami Oshiro already inside. "Good morning, Katsuo-san. To work then?" She said with a peppy smile that was surprising for a woman of her age. Katsuo nodded with a pleasant expression for Manami's benefit. They made their way across town, stopping at a building that looked to be abandoned. He stepped out, getting the door for Manami out of some respect for the woman. The pair went to the door, Katsuo lifting a hand to the door, letting his palm graze the glyph present but out of sight to all mortals that crossed its path. It had a fail safe on it for magical beings that could sense it, being that it required two recognized creators to open and reveal the truth behind the abandoned building. Manami approached the door, placing her hand on it beside Katsuo's. The pair recited the word to unlock the building, a bright light spiraling from their hands, forming a glyph of immense size that radiated from the door before the door swung open, revealing a bright room beyond. The pair entered, the doors slamming behind them. They changed into their uniforms for safe entry into the labs, finding the space full of busy working lab assistants, mostly Sohren family and few others brought in by Manami and her labs. Her and Katsuo made their way over to one of the observation chambers, Katsuo heading over to a control panel that faced a large screened monitor. A scientist sat behind the panel, her eyes focused on a few reading scrolling the side of her small screen. "Have the final tests begun on subject 243?" Manami asked, her eyes observing the blue screen full of numbers and trajectories that Katsuo hardly cared for. He was there to see what the latest was on their machine and see exactly what this thing could do...To answer her question the numbers on the screen suddenly blinked away to an image of a frightened looking woman, looking like an average human except for her unnaturally pale skin and black wings that were pinned like a butterfly to the wall. She screamed out at the empty room, her body struggling with the restraints and bruises forming under her eyes from strain. Katsuo noticed her frame was thinner, no doubt from being starved, and the odd discoloration on her skin near her vitals suggested that other samples had been drawn from the broken looking demoness. She glared in the cameras direction, spitting out a stream of curses that made Manami frown and Katsup smirk. Oh he did love the feisty ones... "No ma'am. She killed the last intern that went in for a blood sample...bit the poor bastards throat..." The lab worker recounted, only fueling Katsuo to want to see this demon squirm. He went over to the control panel for good measure, leaning into the microphone as he flipped it on to relay the order to the troublemaker. "Proceed." He said clearly, formally, making the demon's eyes widen and her thrashing to become more frantic. A large mechanical monstrosity lowered from the ceiling, a whir of odd parts mormon what looked to be a laser forming. The machine gave a warning alarm to tell all near it to stand back or clear the area. The demon let out one last scream before a bright light emitted from the machine, engulfing the being and momentarily blinding the camera. The noise that followed next was horrendous, almost a loud wet explosion that had Manami having to turn away and hide her eyes. Blood thickly covered the camera, blocking a clear view of the creature that had sadly failed the testing. Katsuo tisked, before easing back, his arms folded as he pondered what to do next. "Get in the clean up crew and lets get another one in. I want this fixed by tonight..." He ordered, before heading off to check on other more pressing matters...

At her perky tone he frowned shaking his head a bit. He hand't expected her to be waiting about but it seemed she had, not that he overly minded but it was dangerous for her. "It was quite intense to be honest. Ever got to see your brother." He said rather openly letting her have her own interpretation it as she wanted as he waved good night to another person who he knew threw his aunt. He wasn't in the best of moods after such arguing and high tensions and talks of war and such however he was still on edge about some looks he ahd gotten over things, not that he had spoken hardly. He was told these were traditional meetings not like this mess that just happened.

Suki could tell that Adrian’s mood wasn’t the best. In fact, everyone exiting the building seemed to hold a very tense aura about them. His words, though, made her frown as a sigh escaped her lips. Her lips curled into a half-amused smile moments later. That was so like her brother after all. “He does like to show off. I just hope it doesn’t bite him in the ass later.” Suki spoke but rolled her eyes and snuggled up closer to Adriean, her chest pressing up against his arm. She held up her prize goldfish, the poor thing looking like it wanted anything but to be in her vicinity. “Look what I got while you were gone. I think I want to name him…Bubbles.” She giggled some before leaning her head on Adrian’s shoulder and sighing once more, her falsely elevated mood due to her goldfish bubbles dissipating quickly. “Something big is going to happen isn’t it? We aren’t going to be able to play around anymore.” She stopped walking and pressed her lips to Adrian’s mouth in a rather rough manner. When she pulled away, her eyes were set in a way that gave away the fact that she was much older than her sixteen year old body. “I’ll visit you tomorrow. Go home and rest. I want to speak with my brother about something…” She smiled and pressed Bubbles into Adrian’s hands, winking before she vanished in a puff of reddish pink vapor.
~~~ The morning sunlight flashed through the windows, hitting August in the face. It was like a bomb exploded in his brain when he opened his eyes, groaning and falling off of the couch and into the shade. His body felt a wreck and his mind was fuzzy. Even his violet eyes felt dry and weighted. He knew it was from the amount of alcohols he had consumed last night and when he tried to sit up, he remembered the beating Lor had given him as his sides exploded in agony as well. It was then that he just decided to stay on the floor for a little while. A little while turned into an hour and it wasn’t until he found Suki’s unimpressed features looking down at him that he realized how pathetic he looked. He was half naked with his once beautiful yukata wrinkled and twisted about his lower body, bruises littered his sides. His eyes were bagged and hair a mess with dark brown dried blood caked onto strands of his usually silky silver locks. Still, he didn’t do anything but look up at his sister with miserable eyes and grumble out, “Hi.” Suki rolled her eyes at her brother having left him lying face down on the couch in a passed out stupor after she had gotten home. Lor had been the one to make her ignore him to be honest, what with his glaring and laughing. Still, she couldn’t stand looking at August like this. She cast a healing spell and the bruises around his torso faded to nothing. Then she promptly grabbed August by his ear and pulled. August yelped from the pain and her vice like grip forced him to stand in an award hunched over manner as she pulled him down the hall. At some point his clothing came off, leaving him naked as she shoved him into the shower, turning the water on. It was ice cold and he tried to jump out of the shower, but she pushed him back down and he slipped, landing on his bare bottom. He looked up at her pathetically and she frowned. “Clean yourself up and get dressed. The world isn’t going to wait for you to get over yourself.” She said and left the bathroom while August leaned his head against the cold tile. It seemed that no one thought he deserved to be loathing in self-pity. He decided that he might as well clean up while he was wet. ~~~ When August re-entered the living room he was dressed in a pair of sweatpants and a tee shirt with a cartoon panda eating a stalk of bamboo. His hair was Sohta brown but his eyes, though attempting to be blue, held a purple hue. The hardest part for a demon to change is eye color and August’s unstable mood set was making it hard to keep his true violet hued irises hidden. Suki was watching a human reality show on the television while absentmindedly munching on the last of a bag of chips. She paid no mind to August who slunk in like a dog about to be punished, sitting on the chair, as far away from Suki as he could possibly be. If August was honest with himself, his attitude was a bit better. He was no longer going to let himself be a depressed lump on a log and watch as the events of the world unfolded around him. He was not a weak human with a short life span that would spend possibly years of their life coming to that conclusion. He had already lived for such a long time…he couldn’t justify watching the world burn if he didn’t use his own hands to help it along. It was silent in the living room for some time. It wasn’t until the show had come to an end that Suki turned her attention towards August, licking her cheese dusted fingers. She regarded him with cool eyes and he glared at her. The demon prince did not like the way she was silently judging him. “Are you done?” She questioned, her tone giving away the fact that Lor must have shared what sort of state he had been in before she had arrived at home. August frowned, a low growl coming from him. “For now.” He replied and Suki smiled. Her brother wasn’t all gone if he was angry at her for her actions towards him. “Good.” She said in a chipper manner and sat upright. “Now, Lor filled me in last night but now I want to hear it from you…What are we going to do? I mean, I am all for putting most of the witches in their rightful place but an all-out war…It could destroy both sides and disrupt magic as we know it.” Suki’s words were honest and true and August pulled his lips together tightly. This was going to be a long conversation.
Yumino walked along with her grandmother, fidgeting with her fingers in the soft cotton of the yukata she was wearing. It felt expensive and soft, something that she didn't feel she deserved to be wearing, but her grandmother insisted she be prepared for the day by her staff. Yumino felt odd honestly being in this situation with a woman she thought hated her. Her grandmother was never a loving person, but from what Yumino gathered she was also a very proud person. She had a right to be as a woman in charge of the most powerful magical family in Japan. She was born into the role as the first born of her generation and trained to be the face of perfection. She was given the name Yumino as a show of her station and power. Yumino noticed as a child, even with her heritage being different, she was regarded differently. Perhaps the only reason she was allowed to return to the Tsukiyo home and to change her name was because of that power given to the first born. They walked along the hall, grandmother and descendant, an eerie recollection of past and future that the older Yumino could see in her minds eye. It was almost strange how much Yumino really did resemble her line, due to her dirty blood, but as she had shown with her recent awakening of power that the Tsukiyo blood prevailed over the weakness... Yumino frowned at the part of the home they entered, one that was much older and yet seemed so pristinely kept. No one was around at all, no staff or even family members. It puzzled Yumino because she didn't ever remember coming to this part of the home herself. It wasn't because she didn't explore the grounds, because without friends in the family there was little else for her to do as a child when Hiko was away. Perhaps this part of the home was restricted? The pair went to a door way looked by a screen, one her grandmother opened with a short push of her will that slid it open with no effort from her magic at all. The room they entered was a one of beautiful yet odd form. The room was surrounded by carefully painted walls and screens that depicted an ancient Japan that was often idealized in literature and the art of the era. Some walls were covered by large shelves of scrolls and books, some collections of artifacts from over the years. On one wall was an uncharacteristically large round window that afforded a view of the sky and the old temple in the distance. A shrine was in the center of the room, one built in remembrance of someone passed. Yumino looked at the name from over her grandmother's shoulder and her eyes widened some. This was her ancestor's shrine, the first of the true Tsukiyo line... Her grandmother went forward, going to the shrine and lighting the small incense burner beside it. She said a small almost unheard prayer before turning to Yumino, her eyes piercing the dumb founded child's soul. "This, as I'm sure you realized, is the shrine of our great founder. Once a shrine to the false god where our founder worshipped, it now holds the remembrance of the woman who changed the world of magic forever." Her grandmother said with such reverence, Yumino felt honored just standing there. She bowed, saying a prayer of gratitude to the deceased, which her grandmother allowed, somewhat impressed by the girl's manners even after leaving the home. "I suppose you are curious why I brought you here." She announced, making Yumino's head bob shyly since she wouldn't dare outright ask that question. It wasn't correct to question the clan head.It was a supreme rule that the Tsukiyo were taught very young. That and Yumino was a bit afraid that something was wrong. Was her grandmother going to cast her from the family? Did Katsuo tell the grandmother that he suspected her of something? It made a nervous knot form in her throat, to the point she couldn't muster the courage to even breathe. Her grandmother noticed the girl's hesitance to move closer and she gave a small motion for her to join her. Her grandmother knelt, Yumino across from her near the shrine. The two locked eyes, for a long moment before the grandmother spoke. "When I was a girl, my grandmother brought me here, as her grandmother did before her and so on. It is a tradition that the next of the heritage be brought to the area blessed by the original." Yumino froze, her eyes flicking from her grandmother, to the shrine and then back again. What did her grandmother mean by next of heritage? "You are to pray here for guidance before your lessons are to begin. Every week, for the next year. You are to dress accordingly and study devoutly. Your time will be devoted to study when it is not being spent with your engagement. Do you understand?" Yumino mouth fell open, word tumbling out in confusion and shock faster than she could catch them. "What? I don't--" She stammered before she caught herself, earning a stern look from her grandmother that made her feel like a lead weight dropped on her head. "You know the tradition of the first born daughter to the Tsukiyo line. As your mother has shirked her responsibilities, you are to be her replacement, my successor." Yumino felt the world stop a moment, almost like everything froze over and only the gravity of those words existed. Yumino was to be the successor to the Tsukiyo family line. That meant when the head of the family passed she would be the next head of the Tsukiyo. Yumino didn't know how to process the information fully, mostly because beyond the scope of her mind she never imagined herself being chosen. Even if she was born to the right and held the name sake, her mother's actions were a black spot upon the family. Yumino was a mistake, the other Tsukiyo never let her forget that...she was a mistake that now her grandmother was regarding as her successor. Yumino fell into a bow, feeling a pain swelling in the back of her throat that threatened to make her cry. "I--I can't accept." She said softly, drawing the grandmother to clear her throat. "You don't have an option." She sat up quickly, her eyebrows furrowing in confusion. Her grandmother sighed before motioning to Yumino. "Not only have your powers manifested, but you were valued by Tsukiyomi enough not to slaughter. You are of my line of the first family and you have a duty to uphold, one being called of you in desperate times." Yumino wasn't sure how to interpret this talk of desperate times, especially not till the grandmother decided to speak more on it. "I am dying." Yumino tensed, watching as her grandmother poised herself, saying the words with such calm it was almost inhuman. Yumino looked her over, trying to find sign of illness but none could be properly seen. She looked aged, but gracefully so, not even a pallidness to her complexion. She looked healthy...The grandmother noticed her staring and gave her a small glare. "It is not a visible illness, child. But one of magic entitlement and fate. The visions the ancestors have shown me are not of how I shall die, but only that it will happen in due time. Every woman in power must perish eventually as is the law of nature and the cycle of power to the new generation." The news was shocking, but the grandmother didn't seem to find it as such. Yumino understood death was natural, but for witches it was a long process. Their lifespans were extended for some time, but certainly not long enough to be considered immortal. She hummed in thought then gave the shrine a fond touch, a caress almost as though it were a living being. "We embody the power of our name sake. The reincarnation of our ancestor and her will...The ancestor has willed this transaction to you...I will oblige by preparing you for what is to come." She suddenly rose, her Kimono fluttering some with the quick movement. "Continue a prayer of acceptance and I will come to collect you shortly. Lessons begin today." She announced before heading for the door, leaving Yumino alone in her shock and silence. Yumino sat there a moment, taking everything in. It was of great magnitude, so much so she had to take it all in small pieces. She was to be leader of the Tsukiyo...her, the outcast...because of some divine right....and because her grandmother was dying...she was to begin lessons soon....after a prayer to the woman that over threw a god...Tsukiyomi...."August." The name crossed her lips reflexively, falling deafly upon the room. The pain it brought was real enough, to the point she gave a shaky breath to offset the pressure she felt building. Her eyes closed and for a moment she considered the possibilities. If she became leader of the Tsukiyo, she would have finally reached her dream...acceptance. All of it, completely. People would have to respect her, listen to her....care for her...She clutched the neck of her Yukata, her eyes squeezing tight so that she could focus on her prayer. "Please great ancestor, hear me...guide me in the right path...I will follow what is asked of me...I swear it...." She muttered before her eyes slowly opened. Yumino paused when she was faced with the offerings at the base of the shrine, all customary things here and there that the staff no doubt placed. Her eye was caught by a small wood carving of a white dog there amongst the things, one that looked to be as old as the shrine itself. She reached out to the carving, letting her thumb graze its face where purple painted eyes stared back at her. She frowned at the little carving, wondering how it got there when all items of the old god were burned or left to ruin. She placed it down in its original place before rising to her feet to go and follow her grandmother to her lessons for the day. ((This lady made me think of original Yumino lol))
She she got closer to him, he didn't object letting her do as she pleased since she was his girlfriend after all. He glanced down at her prized fish she had won and smiled at her lightly, more amused that she kept the silly thing. "Cute name." he commented as she leaned her head on his shoulder, her mood seemingly deflating to her honest one. AS her feet stopped, his did as well, looking down at her since she was being serious. The kiss was nice but it was also daunting in a way since her words made it sound like an end was coming along, one he didn't want. He kissed her back, more as a goodnight kiss for him since he had a feeling she would want to speak with her brother- she always did. "Come over any time you wish, my door is always own for you." He stated so she was more then welcome over. AS she vanished to do as she liked he glanced down and looked at the fish wondering how he got stuck with it. Heading home he put the fish in an old fish bowl he used to use when he was a child and got it some food, old fish flakes but the fish didn't seem to mind. With a heavy sigh he fixed himself some tea to settle himself before going to bed. He was rather tired and had a head ache after that mess of a family meeting.
The conversation with Suki took most of the morning. She left after noon and left August to be alone with his self. He avoided mirrors and any reflective surface, not wanting to even have the chance at seeing himself. He even avoided the kitchen for fear that he might see himself in the refrigerator. He felt pathetic and in his mind, running over and over and over again was Yumino running away from him as he lay on the ground. There came a point as the afternoon was slowly turning into the evening that August decided he needed some fresh air. He could only read over the spells in his once lost book so many times before he grew tired of them, especially since they only kept thoughts of Yumino at bay for minutes at a time. He donned a pair of jeans but kept the silly panda shirt. He didn’t bother to fix his tousled hair nor did he care that he still looked as though he hadn’t slept in a few days. He thanked the maker that it was cloudy outside, the sun’s rays hindering him less than usual. His feet naturally wanted to take him towards the University, however, he purposefully avoided that and instead just wandered. He didn’t know where he would end up, however, it didn’t matter for come nightfall he would just return home to work some more with Lor who so desperately wanted to come up with a plan of some kind. ~~~ Suki decided to stop by Adrian’s house as she had come up with an interesting idea, though she wasn’t sure how he was going to take it. To smooth over the idea, she brought a variety of ingredients to cook him dinner with and a sweet little treat for dessert. She didn’t just barge right into his apartment but rather found her way to his front door and knocked. She was wearing a pretty yellow sundress with a white hat and sandals. It was cute and girly and she wanted Adrian to view her as such today…at least until later that evening.
Hearing the knocking he wasn't too sure he wanted to answer it. His aunt trying to come over already twice today, he played it off as he wasn't home, thought the woman called after the last time saying to call her when he got home so he assumed she gave up for the day. Heading out of the living space and towards the door he glanced out the side window and saw Momoko there in a rather cute sundress. Unlocking the door, he opened it for her, with a smile but it was a tried on today, having slept hard last night but honestly didn't sleep well- too much on his mind. "Well if it isn't my cute and adorable girlfriend. Might I take that for you?" He said in a joking manner thought it was true. She could be mean to him and he would still call her adorable. She trusted him with a dark secret- hell her brother threatened him but he was oddly alright with her being a demon, it oddly made her more attractive-even her age wasn't really able to bother him- even if she were much much older then him. He took the bag from her and let her in the house, taking it to the kitchen with a smile as he put it on the counter. "So I'm assuming your cooking dinner?" He asked as he looked at the bag wondering why she was dressed so cutely and offering to make him dinner, not that he minded her bribery- he rather liked it.
Katsuo and Manami made their way to a small cafe since they were going to done for the day with the lab work. There wasn't much to be done in the way of repairs since they weren't even sure what was wrong with the machine. It had been acting odd as of late, even with all of Sohren's tinkering. It was like it didn't have the power enough to really extract what they wanted without killing the subject violently. Not that Katsuo cared how the creature died, but he would prefer to have a continual source of energy to experiment with instead of a fleeting life force. Manami prattled on about some calculations she was woking on while Katsuo checked his phone, finding a missed call and a few text messages from a few prior interests. He smirked at one of the messages asking him if he would be free later to grab a drink, remembering the blonde tourist that he had taken an interest in at business meeting. She was a stunning thing, a bit ditzy but at least understood boundaries. That this was fun, nothing serious. Manami noticed him searching his phone as she talked and she caught a glance of a picture sent of a woman that was not his wife, obviously posing for the camera in a way to have her chest noticed. She was no stranger to the knowledge that young men were prone to let their eyes wander. Especially the ones that had more money than sense...But she always felt bad for Haruka, The girl loved Katsuo blindly to the point it was sweet and almost pitiful. Katsuo was a fine young man with political prowess and the Tsukiyo looks and charm, but he tended to be a bit...distant. He was always friendly with her, but she sensed something was off, like he was trying not to get too close. Perhaps that was just the coldness the Tsukiyo were also known for, hence why she worried for her son marrying Yumino. The girl was as cold as a freezer, even if Hiko seemed to be her only little friend. However, Yumino didn't seem as excited about the union as Hiko as she was worried that would tear a rift in their friendship. Not that it would change things. Either way, the Oshiro needed to secure an alliance with Tsukiyo if they were to survive this war. It was destined since the plans infancy long ago... "How is your wife, Katsuos-san?" She asked, dragging his attention from the phone to look at her with a smile. "Ruka is fine. She has taken a job with the school and is teaching English actually." He said, reiterating what Haruka told him at in bed that morning about her first day being tomorrow. She was an excellent linguist actually and prided herself in being fluent in 4 languages so far. Her intelligence was dulled by her naivety however, making Katsuo not look too far into it. If Ruka was happy, he was for her. She needed a hobby here or there. Manami looked pleased at the news. "Good for her!" She said with a smile as they got their coffee and sat down at a table. Katsuo watched Manami prepare hers, preferring his black for its proper use. He only drank coffee for the energy it gave, not the taste after all. He brought the cup to his lips, not noticing Manami's look turning almost dreamy. "Ah but won't that be difficult with both of you working when you have children?" Katsuo sucked down some of his coffee the wrong way in surprise, coughing and looking rather apologetic on the outside while inward he was rolling his eyes. Did everyone have to pry into his personal life? He had already told his mother that Ruka didn't want children, at least not now. He didn't want to deal with the screaming brats. He was much too busy for them and needed to be completely focused on his efforts to make sure his plan ran as smoothly as possible. He gave a bit of a half hearted chuckle, it coming off as sheepish from his expression. "Ah well, Ruka and I haven't talked much about that. Eventually maybe. Besides I don't want to bring a child into a world of war if things should go south..." He said with some concern etched into his face before he gave Manami's sympathetic look a soft smile. "Also I wouldn't want to overshadow your excitement. Congratulations to Hiko by the way and the Oshiro house. He will make an excellent match for our new Head of Household." He bowed his head in a gesture of good will, rather proud of himself for getting out Yumino's new title without looking like he tasted something sour. That dingy little half breed didn't deserve half of what she was receiving, but in due time that would be rectified... "Aw thank you, Katsuo-san. I wish them many blessings." She said proudly and he gave her a nod. "Yes. Anyways, I was planning on dragging Hiko and his bride to be out for a celebration with Ruka and I. If he is free from any family obligations of course?" Manami was pleased to hear about the gathering and gushed openly about how cute that would be and that he needed to get pictures for her. Katsuo ended up having to leave soon, getting up from his chair and heading back to where he would call a driver to head to the main household. He turned a corner and bumped shoulders with someone, his irritation showing briefly when his phone dropped and hit the pavement with a clatter. "Apologies." He said to the stranger with half attention before grabbing his phone and attempting to dial for the car from the street corner.
Suki giggled at Adrian as he opened the door, the words coming from his lips oddly adorable. She could tell just by looking at him that he had not slept well that night. She wasn’t concerned however, she was sure he had a lot going through his mind from the meeting, which had been more interesting than she had thought possible. Suki let him take the bags from her and following him inside, slipping off her sandals and padding barefoot behind him. She leaned up against the kitchen counter as he placed the bags on the counter, her head cocked to the side and expression bordering on coy. “I thought it would be nice to cook you some real food. I doubt you eat much of it since you are on your own so much.” Suki responded. She pushed off the counter and stepped slowly, each placement of her feet perfection as she moved closer to Adrian. She pressed her body up against his and pressed her lips against his in a gentle kiss, though the way she gripped the shirt on his chest gave way to darker desires. She pulled away and looked into his eyes with a pair that knew exactly what she was doing. “Behave and you might just get what you crave when you feel much touch for dessert.” She teased him with a breathless tone before spinning away from him with a smile and proceeding to going through the bags and putting the cold goods away for a little later. ~~~ August was lost in thought, a slave to where his feet decided to take him. He narrowly avoided being hit by a car at one point. The horn from the driver wasn’t even enough to startle him into paying attention to his surroundings. He was trying to find a way to get out of this pickle he had found himself in. He knew it was impossible for Yumino to forgive him but he had been hoping to try and figure out a way to at least make her understand or as a last resort, make it so that he wouldn’t have to hurt her to make her obey what he said. He was not what his father was, not what Lor was, not even what Suki was. He was different wasn’t he? Wasn’t he? He glanced to the side and saw a reflection of himself in the glass of a store and winced, turning his eyes away. No, he was not different. How could he be? He had played with her emotions and hurt his Yumino. That was something a demon did, not what a kind and gentle man such as the one he pretended to be would do. He grabbed his hair tightly, fingers pulling tightly at his brown locks, teeth clenched.
What did he have to be born a monster? How could he fix this?
He was so engrossed in his thoughts that didn’t notice someone as he rounded a corner, bumping shoulders with them. He was thrown off balance some and heard the sound of something clattering against the concrete sidewalk. He lowered the hand that had been entangled in his own hair and turned as he heard a voice apologize; a very familiar voice. He frowned some but when his eyes landed on Katsuo, they widened ever so slightly. It was the self-riotous punk child who had traded Yumino from the book. The desire grew strong inside of him to teach him a lesson. He could remember the arrogance in his eyes though his name, he couldn’t quite remember. His mood was foul and he was irritated and, hell, he wanted to blow off some steam so who could blame him. He stopped in his tracks and turned around fully reaching out, and grabbing the Tsukiyo brat’s wrist, preventing him from dialing anything on the phone. August’s expression showed his irritation, but there was an unstable glint in the back of his blue eyes that spoke of danger. A shock of static sparked between the two of them, signifying that both were of magical origin, though August had the upper hand in knowing that already. The Tsukyo he-witch had no idea what he was. “Maybe you should watch where you are going instead of playing on your phone. Who knows, you might just irritate the wrong person at the wrong time.” August spoke clearly and though his words were only a front to get the man to react, he was sure as could be that he would get some sort of fight out of the man. If there was one thing August could recognize in another, it was a sense of superiority over others. It takes one to know one and August was just overflowing with a sense of superiority—well some of the time at least.
