When they arrived at the inn, Rin was thankful for the seperate rooms that she ordered. Rin felt like he and Aiden needed their space to talk and he could tell Aiden's happy mask was wearing thin. The man was going through the motions but tonight would be hard for him...Rin wasn't exactly doing the best either, but he had seen enough to keep his emotions under wraps. War did little to prepare you for losing family in Aiden's case. Aiden gave a stretch and gave Mercy and Ciel a happy smile. "Thanks for the room guys. But I feel exhausted. I might have to catch up with you all tomorrow." He said with a bright enough smile that didn't have Rin fooled. Rin went to follow after Aiden when Mercy suddenly asked if he wanted a bath. Rin knew that it was probably not the best of ideas, considering the spell keeping him looking similar to Aiden was temporarily voided when he came in contact with water and remained that way for some time. However, if they were parting ways for the night, it shouldn't have been a problem if he had no other reason to speak with Mercy and Ciel that night. Besides, Rin was still feeling fross after all the blood and sweat being on him. "I...I would appreciate that." He said, his weariness showing briefly before he straightened up and looked ahead at where Aiden had disappeared upstairs. "Besides, he could use a moment." He added under his breath since he wasn't sure Aiden wanted that cover blown.

Mercy nodded to Rin when he let his more exhausted nature show, as they was what she was wanting to see, that honesty. “When they send your bath up to your room- I’ll have Ciel deliver some oils to put on both of your baths- it’s to help with sleep, and fatigue.” She explained like it was an offer of friendship since it was. The man wasn’t the best at talking it seemed so she was extending the olive branch. She gave him a small nod after that, turning and getting another bath for the other room since she knew Aiden perhaps would want one as well. She went to He room where they were bringing in water still. She added some oil and put out some soap, sending Ciel next door across the hall to give them the oils. She knew it would help them so she was offering since she could tell they were off. With her brother sitting with his nose on a books he got in the bath, letting her hair get wet since it had tree dust and forest smell in it. She liked to smell like nature but not a musty inn, a forest and travel sweat. The lavender oil was great for her headache before she washed up properly and got out. Ciel got on next, not minding that his sister helped apply a special oil to his skin with some of his scars to help heal the skin.

Mercy's offer of oils and things for the bath was an odd gesture, though he assumed it was just because she was a healer. They always tended to be softer, more generous people. Or at least the ones he had met in the past were. When she walked off to join her brother, he went after Aiden. He found their room easily and closed the door behind him with a spell to lock it in case of intruders that meant harm. When he came in, Aiden looked up from where he sat on the bed, a smile on his face despite the fact his eyes looked red and tired. "Hey Rin. Ciel came by with oils and things and talked about a bath...aren't they the nicest?" He said with a wavering voice at the end before his eyes fell again to the floor. Rin's stoney expression melted into concern when he saw Aiden's shoulders tense, as though he were holding something in. It drew Rin over to him, sitting on the bed next to him. The two didn't speak for a moment, till Aiden gave a shaky sigh. "Ciel reminds me of my younger brother, Hasani. He has that same excitement over new experiences and--" Before he could finish, his voice caught and he began to shake some. Rin instantly placed a hand on his friend's shoulder, which seemed to release some of the tension in Aiden. Rin saw drops running down Aiden's arm from where his hand supported his face and knew that the semblance of calm had broken. It was only a matter of time. He let Aiden have his moment as quiet sobs pulled through him, making the big man curl in on himself like he was so small. It reminded Rin that he was still young...not that anything could prepare you for losing your world all in one day. After a while, he seemed to pull a piece of himself back together before he looked up at Rin with a tearful expression. "I'm sorry Rin. I'm over here crying when you lost someone too. I'm so sorry about your sister and that I didn't save her too. I should have been there in the palace. I should have been there for them all. I could have protected my brothers and sisters, my father, your sister--" Rin quickly shook his head squeezed Aiden's shoulder. "Don't put this on you. Had you or I been in the palace we wouldn't be here now...What matters now is that we're alive and together." He said which made Aiden give him a nod and a course frown. "I want the people who did this dead Rin. Father always told me not to seek revenge in battle as it only leads to stupid mistakes and recklessness...but I want them to pay for this. For taking our home." Rin gave Aiden's angry look a small look of his own before he nodded. "We will..." He said before he rose and gave Aiden a motion to the bath there for him. "Now go clean up. You smell worse than the horses." Aiden gave Rin a half attempt at a smirk before he went off to clean. When Aiden was clean and passed out in his own bed, Rin decided he should take his own bath. He shirked off the armor he had on and briefly caught a glimpse of the curse mark on the back of his neck in the mirror across the room, mingling with nicks and scars littering his form. He frowned at it before heading over to the bath and dumping a few of Mercy's offered oils in. While the water was cool and perhaps not the intended warmth, Rin felt calmer in it than in the hot. It helped to soothe the fire in his muscles as the curse withered away, leaving his true form in the tub. He looked down at the water briefly and caught sight of his molten, orange gold eyes staring back at him. His pale face was framed by his short white hair and he could see traces of his mother's nose, his father's chin, and the high cheekbones he shared with his sister...His sister....the last family he had left...gone...he felt the pain creeping up on him, making him sink into the water to help numb it. He wasn't sure how long he was under, but he only surfaced when his lungs began to burn for air and he couldn't hold his breath any longer. He rose from the water, regaining his breath, but something in the desperation for air triggered tears to start falling. He couldn't stop them so he let them fall, bringing his knees close to him in the water as he tried to numb himself to it all. No matter what he tried, he couldn't...he just kept seeing her face over and over...the face of his father and mother...Rin had felt alone before, but he had always known that he alwasys had his sister out there with him. Now, there was no one...no one but Aiden who had lost his family too...What a sad pair they made...After letting himself have his moment, he got up and went to dress, but stayed by the fire in the room to warm himself up. He couldn't sleep even if he wanted to. He pushed himself to stay awake just watching the flames till he finally passed out from exhaustion on the floor by the fire, having slept on worse before so it wasn't much trouble.

Mercy crawled into bed and cuddled her little brother who didn’t seem to mind at all. He loved his half sister and wanted to protect her, even if he knew she could protect herself. He had cast a barrier over their door on the inside so it was as good as sealed. They both slept through the night, even if Mercy was up at dawn. She often woke early but currently she had not patients to care for so it was silly to be up this early. Ciel slept in since he could sleep just about any where. She got up and Stood in front of the window with the raising sun. She rose her hands a little to about her shoulders height, palms up, eyes closed. Hands moving in a lights circular motion, thin strains of blue magic started flowing from her hands as she started a Fae luck prayer for herself and her brother. She did this daily since she wanted no harm to fall on her or her brother, not that life wouldn’t do as she pleased. Her hands her moving in a motion that was almost a circle but a rectangle in motions but the magic stayed inside her hands and once the ritual was over it returned to her. The Fae used magic for all things and were distrusted for it- not to mention their culture was a better kept secret then most as well. Their cities were hidden and they forbid a lot from entering to protect them selves. Not many understood that, but she did, she had learned it from her Aunt- Mezedonne, she lived by the Fae City herself but apparently had a human partner? She shook her head at that still, not thinking a pure Fae would even be able to communicate with a human properly but the letter she has written her was sincere and kind about the human. After a bit In her thoughts, the sun had come up to an acceptable height to wake the others, getting Ciel up was easy since as soon as she stepped by the door/ his barrier broke and he sat straight up in bed to see what was going on. She knocked on the boy’s door and said she was going down to order breakfast for them and to meet her down stairs.

((Lol Dimitri and Mezedonne reference. So cute!!!!))
The knock on the door startled Rin awake, who quickly sat up and reached for his side only to realize his dagger was with his armor. He whispered a small spell beneath his breath, his body shifting to a dark smoke like essence that writhed it's way to the door to muffle his steps in case it was someone they didn't know. When he reformed by the door, he gave it a small gauge of if he heard voices. When he heard a female yawn, he sighed and realized it was their traveling companion. "Aiden, get up." He shouted to the sleeping form that was nested in all the blankets. Rin opened the door and looked down at the woman with a reserved but not hostile look. He didn't seem to care much about the fact he only wore the pants from beneath his armor as they didn't have any other clothes. It wasn't like Mercy would care after all they saw her in her underclothes not too long ago. He pushed the image from his mind and instead focused on the woman at his door. "Morning, Mercy. I apologize if we overslept. It seems the baths were just what we needed for good rest. Isn't that right Aiden?" He looked over his shoulder as Aiden sat up, looking groggy still as he gave a nod. His long hair was up in a bun to keep it from tangling in his sleep, but it made him look a bit disheveled with his shirt even shifted off his shoulder a little and wrinkled in places.

Mercy hadn’t expected the door to open but gave the tall man a light smile in greeting, her eyes looking him over- only a moment however. He was half naked after all- so it was an invitation—-right? She shook the idea from her head before looking past him at aiden who looked muzzled from sleep. “ No, you did not oversleep, in fact I just woke Ciel.” She said easily turning a bit more of a smile to the man. “ I’m going to get breakfast ordered own stairs, any special requests?” She asked her tone slightly teasing since well, why not? Rin seemed in a pleasant enough mood so far why not be friendly?

Rin noticed Mercy was all smiles this morning, a sentiment he didn't return as he rarely liked to smile for frivolous reasons. Aiden often called him cold, but Rin was a hard person to express himself. Aiden usually drew out more personality from them being so close, but even then he rarely showed his full range around the prince. It just wasn't appropriate. Her teasing tone made him raise a brow and give it some thought. "Fruit and coffee. As for Aiden, anything with egg and starches." He said since he knew how the prince ate his fill because he burned so much energy in training every day. He was a big guy. Rin ate less, as he preferred to remain healthy with his less physical attack style. Aiden padded to the door and saw Mercy there and gave her a pleasant smile. "Good morning Mercy. We'll be down in a sec. Thanks for getting breakfast." He said with a warm tone before he went over to where his clothes were. Rin said goodbye to Mercy before going to get dressed. "She's pretty." Aiden said out of nowhere, making Rin give him a sideways look. "Fae and Elf women usually are." He said as he pulled on his shirt. Aiden gave the man a smirk, realizing he didn't deny it. "Yeah, I guess. It just makes the trip more fun." He added before pullin on his clothes in time with Aiden. Soon they were downstairs with the other two, Aiden going to sit in the open seat with Rin next to him. "Morning Ciel. DId you guys rest well?" Aiden asked as Rin instead went about grabbing the coffee that was as strong as it could be. Just what he liked and it would help offset his lack of sleep.

Mercy nodded to the request of fruit and coffee, knowing she was going to need something strong to curb her morning headache, she often got them when she was in a dusty place. She let them go about getting ready for the day as she went down stairs and got the requested items, and ordered them to a table. It was no more then a short bit when Ciel came down stairs fully dressed and sleepy looking. She gave him a soft smile and a kiss on the forehead as he took a seat next to her on the benches, leaving the other side open to both Rin and Aiden. The coffee had just been put down as well as a large bowl of steaming potatoes, some cooked meat- more like jerky however, around four eggs- hard boiled- and a few on a separate plate that were still kinda runny in the center. A bowl of fruit was sliced and placed, a loaf of bread, some already sliced with some butter. Milk and sugar as well. It had been a pretty penny to be sure but it would make everyone happy this morning. Rin and Aiden came over from the stair way and took their seats, Rin looking grateful for the coffee. Ciel was working on eating some dried meat and a hard boiled egg when Aiden greeted him and Mercy. He gave him a nod in greeting seeing as he was chewing. Swallowing his food, before taking a full glass of milk and chugging it- leaving a milk mustache on his upper lip. "I slept great. And the food is good here." He said clearly letting the food be a priority. Mercy chuckled at her brothers' child likeness before nodding to the two men. "I slept alright I guess, I do miss my home most at nights. It makes it harder to find sleep occasionally." She stated a bit honestly but knew it was alright before she took a fork and got some of the fruit that Rin was looking over. She already had a nice warm- sweetened- cup of coffee in front of her and a slice of buttered bread. She ate light herself but knew she could eat all she liked and still look good-but she preferred to keep up with things.

Rin and Aiden both agreed with the sentiment that the food was good since both dug in after the other two began. Rin stuck to the fruit and a piece of bread as he preferred to eat light. Aiden, however, at responsibly but obviously ate quite a bit more between the two. Aiden grinned after swallowing a bite of meat with a bit of curiosity. "Phew, I was worried stuff would taste so much different here. Things are a bit more spicy at home, but this will do." Aiden said in though, Rin gave him a bit of a glance. "You're just content with any food." He said as he felt the prince was a bit rude in his comment. Then again, Aiden always spoke his mind. Aiden gave a nod with a chuckle. "You're right." Rin was in the process of popping a piece of melon in his mouth when Mercy spoke of missing home. It brought up a pang of feeling that he pushed down carefully, his face straightlaced and his composure straight. "Understandable. It is very different here than what at least we are used to. It's not as hot." Rin said, since he felt similarly. Aiden decided to cut in since Rin seemed done speaking on the topic. "So we're close to this new town right? I can't wait to see it and this market." He said with a happy smile at the idea of a new adventure.

Mercy heard the slight tone in Rin's voice as he said he could understand missing home. She bet- seeming as they had come from a war zone, injured and no doubt upset over the way they left their home. At the comment that it was too hot she smirked, taking a sip of her coffee. "Its too bright here to sleep often. Near the Fae cities- its much darker, and the fauna- most of it glows- its pretty and its relaxing, here everything is reddish when its on fire- there its a cool glow- like a blue or a soft purple..." She reminisced getting a nod from her brother. "Yeah- we should go see Aunty again." He stated to her getting a shake of her head to him. She had shared that out of a momentary weakness to want to go back- however knew that her father wanted her home int he elven city- though she had stopped to see where her mother had once called home. It had been so breath taking, she loved it- she felt so at home there even. Then she was called on to travel more and well- there they were. "Yeah! I wonder if they got anything good there?" Ciel chimed in when Aiden went on about the markets since he loved looking at things and being naturally inquisitive. Mercy was however studying her coffee a few more moments as she worked on putting her slight homesickness back in its place.

Aiden smiled at her description, but didn't seem to pick up on the sadness there. "It sounds lovely. I'd love to see it one day...even if humans aren't much allowed to it." He said in thought but shrugged and went back to his food. Rin however noticed the topic seemed to put her off and he felt a bit bad if he had brought up bad thoughts. She wasn't as good at hiding her emotions, not that he wanted that really. It was easier to understand people when they were clearer with their feelings. It usually got him in trouble that he was poor at judging people that liked to hide their emotions carefully. He wasn't heartless, despite his demeanor and could relate to Mercy's homesickness. "It does sound amazing. If you ever need it, I know a spell that can--" He paused that thought since perhaps it would only upset her to offer a spell that could trick her mind into thinking that she was back home in that place. So he settled for something a bit less extreme, "--manipulate light. Of course, it's illusion magic so it's not real, but even tricking the mind can be useful. Also, I find a walk helps when you can't sleep." Rin said, perhaps the longest he had spoken so far to Mercy. His tone was matter fact, but there was a hint of sincerity to it that even made Aiden a bit surprised. However, Rin slipped back into his quiet and went back to his coffee with his usual stone-faced expression, despite the fact he felt an awkward energy rising for speaking to her when she probably wanted to be left alone. Aiden gave a smirk at Rin's quietness before he nodded to Ciel. "Same. I want to look into some more clothes. These aren't the most comfortable for travel." He said since he was it rather expensive looking regalia and Rin was in light armor.

Aiden didn't look like he was uncomfortable in his clothes but for travel Ciel could perhaps understand that. "I would offer you both some of mine to borrow but your both much taller then me. Nothing would even fit." he stated since it was true. He didn't have an issue with it either- as long as they kept away from his sister- no one got hurt- or threatened. Mercy glanced over her coffee at Rin when he brought up a spell to perhaps trick her mind into seeing the glows of her natural home land that some how sang to a deep part of her that made her miss things as simple as a place she had never called home before. She gave a light nod at the offer, since it was kinda but not needed right now since they were going to be traveling all day now and she needed to focus. "I walk about a lot. It keeps me busy and out of Mercy's way often." He said with a humored sounding tone since it seemed he was more free spirited often the his more quiet sister. "I don't feel I should be out walking at night by my self, but I get the thought. Thank you for the suggestions. I might take you up on the spell at a later time." She said back however a small soft looking smile on her lips as she went back to eating her toast since she was sure she needed to eat a bit more before they headed out. After breakfast she sent Ciel up to pack their things and the boy their own before heading to the stable and buying two more horses, even if she had no issue sharing with Rin- or Aiden she felt they would want some space after all. She waited for them to arrive since she was holding the horses as her brother came out and no sooner had the boys. Packed and ready to go thankfully.

Tina and Aiden let breakfast slide into the easy light conversation, since things had taken a somber turn. When the two paid for extra horses, Aiden and Run both felt a bit bad about that. The amount of money they spent on strangers was a rough thing to swallow, especially for Aiden who once could just snap his fingers and get what he wanted. Rin didn’t like feeling like a burden, but reserved his judgement since he couldn’t argue that they needed another two horses. Rin went to one of the horses and gave it a careful pat while Aiden looked happy to see the animal. “They’re gorgeous. Thank you!” He said as he scratched the horse’s ear before climbing on easily. He had ridden since he was little and loved to be around them. Rin on the other hand didn’t much like animals. He always felt that the big ones could be dangerous. When they got on the road, it wasn’t hard to find the path to the new town. It felt like they rode for hours until they finally reached a bridge they lead into the town that seemed to be built into the forest. A long river extended into the town powering a mill that could be seen in distance. Furthermore, the buildings were made of natural materials, to the point the structures looked almost like parts of the foliage. People were milling about in the market that was close to the entrance, but most seemed to be off working or socializing. For a larger town, it definitely looked like most of the people knew each other. Rin noticed refugees entering the city as they went to stable the horses, people that looked destitute and obviously from Harena. “Let’s go find the inn.” Aiden said, though he mostly just wanted to have an excuse to go look around. Rin however kept an eye on those around them, getting an odd feeling that something wasn’t right. Then again, with so much water in canals around him and so many faces, it was hard not to feel uncomfortable.

The new town wasn't the best but it was better then the last few she had been stuck in. She did notice the stiffness in Rin's back as they went into town, he seemed on edge but then again she didn't blame him. Ciel was more on page with Aiden in wanting to go look around. "You can only go look around if you go with Aiden so your not alone AND you get permission from Rin so Aiden can go." She told her brother who had turned his deadly puppy dog eyes on her. He gave a nod and went to go see what Aiden thought on that plan since his sister always had reasons for the things she did. Following after Aiden she noticed some refugees but none seemed injured, meaning she got time to herself. As they went into the inn she looked around, finding it very common place, not even a good looking stranger at the bar. She sighed before looking about a bit mroe but turned her eyes back to Rin. "So, why are you so nervous here?" She simply asked bluntly to him since he seemed it, even if he denied it. Ciel went towards' Aiden and gave him a grin. "My sister said we could go explore if we asked Rin first. Doesn't want you in trouble it seems." he said with a laugh since it was so like his sister to be thinking of the wellfare of others.

Aiden blinked when Ciel came to him and asked about going to look around. Of course he was on board, but the news he had to ask Rin’s Permission made him give a rather cocky smirk. “Ask Rin for permission? That’s a first because Rin kinda has to do what I tell him. But we’ll let him know so he doesn’t hav a cow.” He said before going into the inn to at least let Rin know he was off the hook for the afternoon. Maybe he could quit being stiff and make friends with Mercy. Rinwas looking around the bar area when Mercy asked him why he was on edge. He gave a shake of his head, before looking to her. “I don’t know. I just have a feeling...like something isn’t right.” He said before Aiden suddenly cut in by grabbing Rin’s shoulder. “Hey bud, I’m going with Ciel to look around. Catch you and Mercy later?” He said which made Run instantly shake his head. “Without ah escort? That’s not smart.” Rin said, his words meaning more than he could day in front of Mercy and Ciel. Aiden was the only living heir of the royal family of Harena. If anything happened to him, Rin would be responsible. Furthermore, if Aiden died, Rin would too because of the curse. Aiden however didn’t like being told no and it showed by his frown. “Come on Rin let me live a little. I’ll be fine. Ciel is a—you know and he is a magez Also I’m trained in combat. Works out fine. Now go enjoy the town yourself.” Aiden said, clapping him on the shoulder before hurrying off with Ciel. Rin’s eyes narrowed but he let it go and gave Mercy a sigh. “After we unload, would you like to visit the market with me? I would like to barter for some clothes and weapons for Aiden and I.” He said, to be clear to her what he intended to do and to open it up for her to go. He figured she wouldn’t mind if he also used it to keep tabs on Aiden.
