Ciel laughed at the idea that t was opposite but nodded and followed along to find both Rin and Mercy in the lobby speaking it seemed. Mercy gave him a nod since it was bestbto trust ones gut feelings, with that idea now though she would be on edge. Her eyes went to her brother and Aiden when they came in the Inn. She watched them interact and how they were behaving, finding some things odd but didn’t comment, since it wasn’t her place right now. She smirked when aiden went into why he would be fine with her little brother making her giggle a small bit. “I think they can handle a short while by themselves Rin.” She Stated as the two boys hurried off like children to a candy store. She nodded and assisted to get the items up to the two rooms, Rin of course helping with the trunk thankfully. She asked him to wait while she changed from her travel clothes into something more for that since she felt dirty in the travel clothes. She cleaned up quickly and changed. She decided for a pair of pants this time, not a dress, the jacket shirt her it covered and it was comfortable to move in. She joined Rin down stairs and gave him a smile,” thanks for waiting for me, I know it must be hard to adjustment from traveling with Guys to a lady.” She joked since she often changed her clothes. “Also If you need help paying for things I can help, I am paying you both for accompanying us through this boarder area.” She said since it was the original deal burn Tin said barter- and she simply didn’t like that word. pin.it/jie3ykcztcvu4a : Her dress

Aiden went with Ciel into the town although it felt a little strange to without an armed escort. Usually Aiden never got outside the city walls without armed soldiers watching him or Rin being his shadow. After all, his father always worried that someone would attempt to harm him. Why, Aiden never really knew but he trusted his father...even if all the protection in the world didn’t save his family.... So he was going to enjoy the freedom he always longed for. What did he have to lose at this point? He walked over to a market stall, his eyes widening at all the shiny trinkets there. However his attention quickly diverted to the weapons stall. “So this is what markets are like. They’re so noisy and crowded. How do you find anything you really need with all this stuff.” Aiden said as he had to deny one woman that passed by trying to offer him silks to buy. ~~~ Rin wasn’t sure he agreed with Mercy about Aiden and Ciel surviving on their own. He was sure Ciel could, it was Aiden he was worried about. The man had no common sense or street smarts. He was liable to get them both in trouble. He wiated a moment for her to change, in the meantime keeping an eye on the people around him. He kept his attention on those that seemed odd or those that looked shifty, but most it seemed were off because they were displaced or unsure of why this foreigner was looking at them. He finally let it go with a sigh, wondering if his senses were dull because of his recent loss...When Mercy returned, he expected some quaint little outfit. But instead she was in this rather pretty outfit for just an outing. Then again that was probably Fay culture or elf. He ignored the fact that she did look good in it and simply shook his head at her thanks. “It’s fine. We are not on a schedule and it’s..refreshing to not be in a hurry.” He said quietly before he gave a small bow of his head in thanks. “You shouldn’t have to, but thank you. Aiden and I owe you quite a bit now.” He said since it was true that her kindness was what was helping them the most at this point.

Ciel went with Aiden looking excited to get a chance to look around. He was glancing over at a good stall when Aiden asked him about how one found what they needed. “ you look for what you need. It’s not hard. What are we looking for?” He aske dhim since he was generally good at finding where they kept things in most markets, most set up about the same. ~~~ When he shrugged off her kindness, even when accepting it she knew he wasn’t accustomed to needing help. She understood that aboutbit it could have also been a man things, too good to ask for directions or what have you. She flashed him a smiled as they headed outside the door and headed towards the market. “You know I don’t mind. Helping is second nature to me Rin, I am a healer after all.” She said with a soft smile as they passed a stall with some pretty fabrics.

((next part is where shit goes down)) Aiden nodded along to what Ciel was saying, since it made sense. He just was having to get used to shopping on his own as most things were bought for him. When offered the choice, Aiden instantly smiled brightly. "I'm looking for weapons. Clothes are boring and armor is something I can always grab later. Besides the person has to hit you first for you to need it anyway." Aiden said as he explained his thinking to Ciel, even if his cockiness did slip into his comment. "Do you and Mercy fight with weapons or--?" He stopped when he realized there were a lot of people around them and mentioning they were mages maybe wasn't the best since mages weren't trusted when they weren't working or doing some kind of trade in most places. ~~~ Rin pondered the comment about her kindness being second nature because of being a healer. He wasn't sure how to feel about it, since he wondered what his trade made him more like. Illusion magic was shifty and prone to deceit. Not to mention he had been a part of a thieves organization. He felt it was a bit silly to trust a helping hand out to strangers just because she was a healer. After all, he didn't lie to everyone just because they were strangers. The lie had to be necessary...as her help had to be based on utility as well. He simply gave her a nod, since he felt his comment might come off as mean and he didn't want to piss her off. He walked with her a bit when he noticed her smile at the silks. He paused some at that, wondering if she wanted to look at them. "Clothes are a needed purchase. You seem interested in the fabrics anyways..." He said with a gesture in the way of the stall before he went over there and began looking around the wares. He grabbed a few things he knew the prince would be willing to wear before he pulled things in colors he liked. Thankfully his time with the thieves and with Aiden taught him to dress well. Besides, he had to keep up appearances as the prince's double after all... "What do you think of these? Do they appear good quality?" He asked her opinion since she seemed to like clothes and she was their wallet at the moment.

At the question of where the weapons were he nodded. “ center market.” He stated since it was a usual thing to look for and armor- even if Aiden seemed confident enough to not need it quite yet- wasn’t too far from there. At the second question he frowned. “ I can use a sword- or a dagger but I can usually just throw them a few hundred feet or just kill them quickly with out a weapon. I won’t ever let any harm befall my sister.” He Stated smoothly as they walked. ~~~ Mercy was surprised to see him catch her eye line a moment ago. It was actually a surprise to her but a good one. She gave a nod as they went over, helping him shift through the fabrics quickly. At his question she looked them over, her hand gracing the fabric a moment before she looked to the darker color- then back at Rin’s Face. “I like the darker colors for you, the fabric is softer but it’s durable.” She Stated almost an after thought before she looked away from Zein at a green fabric she liked.

Aiden followed Ciel further into the market as he was starting to get distracted by all the noise and things there. He was walking by Ciel when he mentioned that he could use a sword and dagger, but taht he could just use brute force. "I want to see that. Not in a bad way for something to happen to any of us, especially not Mercy." He added since he didn't want to have something bad happen but he would like to see what Ciel could do. He never really had anyone but his instructors and soldiers to really share that side with. After all, Rin was too quick and sneaky with fighting to really be much fun. "You sir, big man with the kid. Unarmed while traveling isn't wise these days. I have just the thing." A vendor called, drawing them in to talk at his stall. Aiden was drawn in by the gleaming metal and went for the heaviest sword he saw. He raised it some, keeping the sword up level with his face to get a look at it. "It looks good. This is Harena steel...But the quality in shaping is a bit shoddy. Obviously, it's been used." Aiden said before looking to the owner that looked a bit surprised. "Ah, a man that knows Harena work. Well, we both know I can't sell the best here what with the weapons contract belonging to Harena. Maybe I can cut you a...special deal." He said as he reached beneath his stall for something under what looked like old cloth. He pulled from it a larger sword and dagger set that looked well made, in fact palace quality. Obviously this was stolen or sold secretly, the punishment for the one selling it would be steep in any kingdom. But it seemed like this man was desperate for money by the hollows of his cheeks and the dark circles under his eyes. It was going to be hard for any weapons merchant while the kingdom was under siege. Aiden looked from the sword to Ciel before he jerked his head to it as if to tell the kid to give it a try to see if he liked it. After all, they were the purse strings... Aiden got an odd feeling however that someone was watching them and he turned some to survey the crowd. He didn't notice a hooded figure on a nearby rooftop with their bow drawn taught, an arrow gleaming in the morning sun pouring through the trees. ~~~ Rin raised a brow when she pulled darker colors, ones he actually approved of. He preferred them since they helped him blend better. He picked up the colors she mentioned before handing them to the vendor for purchase. Her eyes went to a green fabric, he tilted his head some at it. "Is green your favorite? That would be a nice color on--" He was about to finish the blunt answer when heard a gasp and the sound of a heavy basket dropping. His eyes snapped up in time to catch a young-looking woman in traditional Harena apprentice merchant garb staring at him with wide blue eyes. "Prince Aiden!" She said before she walked over to the two and began bowing. Rin took an uncomfortable step back, knowing that the person was confusing him for Aiden. It was hard not to when they looked similar due to the curse, but differences were there. The problem was people were beginning to notice and he hadn't yet told Mercy about that little detail of Aiden being royalty. "We thought we lost you!" She said in a weepy tone that made Rin swallow hard and struggle to find a way out of this. "I'm sorry you have the wrong person--" He tried to say, but the girl only shook her head, raising her head to look at him with a warm smile. "I would never forget the face of our future king. I was at your sixteenth name-day celebration where your father proclaimed you his heir. It was a joy to our people--to my family who served the palace kitchens for years." He wanted to curse under his breath at the reveal that she had a connection to him in some way, but something wasn't sitting right with him. He always dealt with the kitchens to prevent Aiden from being poisoned and he never remembered seeing this woman. Then again, so many faces worked for the capitol and he was hardly trusting or approachable to all... "I promise you have the wrong man--" He said again, not sure why this woman was being so persistent, but she seemed to ignore him once more. "I apologize my prince for insisting, but my family and I escaped the palace with barely any time before it fell into invaders hands. We thought the whole family was dead until we found Lady Essa and now you." Rin's body tensed when she said Essa's name, his inability to hide his response to his sister who he assumed was dead was hard. It flashed through his face briefly before his usual stone-faced mask was back up. "I was told no one survived the palace attack." Rin said in a slightly strained tone as if unsure, but the woman only gave a shake of her head. "We only found Lady Essa barely breathing and she lost a lot of blood. She is with mother now in our room at the inn and recovering." He looked unsure of all this and how to process it all since he couldn't tell if this woman was lying or not. She didn't appear shifty, but unsure...she knew enough that someone from the palace would if they truly were a servant. "I could take you to her my king. You and your new friend." She said with a soft voice, the offer there but Rin was unsure of how to accept it or if he even should.

When Aiden said he wanted to see him throw a man a few hundred feet he smiled since Mercy often scolded him for such talks. When Aiden added on that he wanted nothing bad to happen his sister he gave him a nod, seeming to warm up quickly to this man who seemed to understand what it meant to keep quiet about him and knew not to mess with his sister, that was good by him. When they err called at from a merchant he rose a brow since he wasn’t that childlike- just small height wise yet. He let Aiden look for himself as he looked over a few smaller things not that he really needed them, he could honestly heft a large blade himself but preference is natural born magic, more like his sister, even if she had her own dark side... when asked to look over a pair of dagger he did so, picking one up and flipped it almost expertly in his hands before picking up the other to do the same. He mock sheathes them behind his head across his back and gave a small smile. “They are very well weighted, I’ve never had Harena made weapons before. I’ve heard of them though.” He said before pulling them back to his front and looking them over however his ears were picking up on a single sound over Theo whole market- a bow string, a small crack as the line adjusted to being strung with an Arrow- no one testing a bow would string an arrow.he took a breath and dropped the daggers and turned throwing up a shield- a violent red one in color, large enough to cover the entire booth even as an arrow came down- right at his new found Friend. Next he grabbed behind him and looked them over, making sure Aiden was alright before frowning, he wanted to go after the idiot who dared attack him but didn’t know if he could leave Aiden. ———— When he selected the fabrics she picked he seemed to be okay with her idea on his likes, that was good. When asked if green were her favorite color, she blushed but shook her head, she was going to explain it to him that elves favored blue and green while the Fae being more ashen prefered golds but it seemed fate interpreted them. She turned after a second to see the girl who seemed to think she knew Rin, calling him a prince of all things... well- he could be a colder prince perhaps, but not really the one in the eye of the public but his name was not Aiden, his companion perhaps shared a name but he didn’t seem the type either. She honestly only had the example of the Elven prince and the Fae king and Queen- no real princes or such existed for them. She noticed how uncomfortable Rin was and she frowned a moment as they talked. The first addition that the woman was wrong was all she needed however when he tried again the woman got a bit pushier. Mercy had moved a fraction closer to Rin, feeling him tens eover the news of a woman being fond but he seemed so off about this, that was a red flag to her. The doubt in the poor man made her purse her lips but shook her head after a moment. “ I don’t think we should follow this woman. You have the wrong man.” She stated simply to the woman taking Rins’ arm and giving it a small squeeze in reassurance, even if he wasn’t one for touching he looked so conflicted, she had seen his usual hard mask slip a moment ago.

Aiden was looking over the sword when a red aura suddenly rose up around them. The sudden change startled him and many of the people nearby, especially when something pinged off the shield. When the arrow clattered off the shield, he looked wide eyed at Ciel before then looking around for the source. He caught sight of a shadow moving across the roof tops, further into the town. He gritted his teeth, an anger building in him that someone was taking cheap shots at him after everything he had been through. This was no doubt an assassin sent to finish the job. "Come on Ciel. They aren't getting away with that." He said before pulling his golden earings out of his ears and tossing them on the counter of the merchant. Each were worth the weight of the sword and daggers for Rin or Ciel, but he didn't want to deal with waiting to barter. He took off in the direction of the shadow, manuevering as best as his could with his size around doorways and alleys as he watched the shadow-bound effortlessly across the roofs. "Damn they're fast. Ciel got anything in your repertoire to slow them down?" He asked since he hadn't seen the boy in action to know what he could to give them an advantage. He couldn't get on the roofs since he wasn't stealth enough to keep up with the shadowy figure. ~~~~ Rin felt Mercy touch him and he instantly tensed at the touch, obviously not expecting it. But he didn't pull away, but instead, it woke him from his confusing cloud of emotions. He gave a shaky breath before his look hardened. "I'm not--." He began, before she suddenly grabbed his other arm. "I insist the prince follows me. If he wishes to see his sister--" When the words slipped out of her mouth, Rin's eyes widened and instantly the woman realized her mistake. How did she know Essa was his sister? In a split second, a crackling energy began to form in her hand that held Rin. Taking quick action, Rin muttered an incantation under his breath, using Mercy's hold on him as a focal point. Though it took a lot of magic an concentration, Rin's body disintegrated into a thick dark smoke that swirled around Mercy. The crackling energy from the woman blasted outward, but it didn't permeate the black fog. Instead, it traveled along the form and eventually disrupted Rin's spell. The smoke hit the ground nearby, reforming into Rin who was twitching some from the bolts traveling over him. "Honestly, this could have been so easy. But you two have to make things complicated. I looked forward to taking you alive with the prince." The woman said as she pulled her hat away and long blonde hair fell on her rather cute face. Her elven features were obvious by the pointed ears and timeless beauty, but the blackness of her eyes revealed she wasn't a normal elf. There was something off about her energy, like there was something otherworldly in this tiny woman's frame. "I'll give you to the count of three to give up or I'll make a feast for my pets out of both of you." She said as she raised her hand over the ground where an incantation circle burned into the pavement. "One." She said as a light began to form out of the lines. "Two" she said as a loud gutteral growl rubbled from the circle. She opened her mouth to say three when a dagger wizzed by her cheek. She looked back at where it hit a stall with her mouth agape. "That was so mean! I wasn't done counting!" She hissed before looking back and seeing that the Rin that she thought was on the ground looked odd before it puffed into smoke. Her eyes quickly darted back and she felt someone show up behind her for an attack. She maneuvered out of the way of the downward swing of a dagger, before a large spectral wolf threw itself from the circle and hit Rin square in the chest with the force of a horse kicking him. It sent him backward some, but he caught himself quickly on a stall and used the solid surface to right himself. He looked to Mercy and gave her a jerk of his head. "Go find Aiden and Ciel." He said before the wolf launched itself at him again. The elven woman frowned and looked at Mercy with a smirk, "Ah leaving so soon dear? I can't have that when things are just getting fun." She mused before conjuring another bolt of energy to her hand.

He grabbed the daggers and took off after Aiden, finding him quite quick for his size but still slow. When asked if there were anything he could do he nodded and scampered up the side of a building quickly and took off after the shadow, almost as agile as it was. He was faster however they were experienced. He was close but eventually just threw a dagger and hit them in the back of the leg- making them trip and fall off the roof. Ciel smiled liking his aim, having made air eit included the doge he knew the rogue was going to make. Glancing over the edge of the roof at the character that was working the dagger out of its leg he threw up a field that crushed them to the ground as he jumped down- keeping them pinned till Aiden rounded the corner. ~~~~ Mercy was confused on what was happening but she didn’t jump when Rin’s body fell into fog. She knew he was a mage and his woman was clearly an enemy. As this woman began counting to three and threatening them she scowled, one this was for certain when one pissed off a Fae- they regretted it- even their healers were dangerous. She watched Rin try to take advantage of the decoy but got caught by the witches summon, she could ease that pain later, if he cared. She muttered a few words in Fae as a large black and gold swirl erupted into her hands, it was a poison that worked on contact. She heard the order from Rin but shook her head, almost defiantly. She rushed the woman and smacked her hard across the face with a poisoned hand- adding extreme pain to her eyes and nose. Her other hand taking her wrist roughly and adding a slight pressure to apply the poison there however she was knocked away by the woman who lashed out at her a bit blindly. She didn’t mind but wasn’t really happy about it. She shuffled back from the main fighting however since she wasn’t much of a fighter. She wasn’t going to Leave Rin however no matter how much he complained about it.

When the man hit the ground ontop of some crates that splintered under his weight, Aiden ran over to him and where Ciel was with the assassin. He quickly approached and yanked back the man's hood, finding he didn't recognize the man and he didn't look like a man from Harena. He was too pale. "Who the hell are you and why did you try to attack me?" The man shook his head as he struggled before he spat at the pair. "You should have died with the rest of your--filthy family. " Aiden gave the man a glare but before he could speak again, shouts came from around them. He looked up and saw men closing in on them. They were larger thugs and looked to be dressed as though they were refugees but all looked more like bandits. "Grab him. Kill the kid." One man, the larger of the thugs that looked to be at least half Orc, ordered before men began to approach. Aiden hauled his sword up, slamming it into the man nearest it. The blood seemed to send the other men into a frenzy, which made Aiden's usually playful and laidback look turn very serious. "Ciel deal with that guy. He's not any use, just a pawn paid by the people that attacked my family. I'll explain later." He said before launching another heavy attack at a man that swung at him with an axe. A sword behind him nearly got him in the abdomen, but he was able to dodge it and follow up with a swing that killed the man instantly. For his lack of stealth, Aiden was a heavy hitter that could deal alot of damage. However, one man caught his arm with a short sword, digging it in pretty deep. Aiden was able to bat him off, but the wound did smart a bit. ~~~ Rin was busy taking hits from the summon while Mercy was left to her own devices with the mage woman. He caught the tail end of what she was doing when he saw Mercy smack the woman in the face. He blinked when the woman wailed in pain and grabbed her face like she was in excruciating pain over the noise of the panicked crowds. He was about to shout at Mercy again to get out of there and let him handle it, but instead, a searing pain hit his arm holding his dagger, causing him to drop it. Blood pooled over his armor from a wound that appeared from nowhere, alerting him that Aiden was in trouble to his panic. However, his distraction cost him a misstep that allowed the wolf to throw itself at him. He was taken to the ground on the bridge behind them, the water from a passing canal headed for a mill beneath them. He struggled with the wolf that was snapping at his face and throat, but finally caught one of his armored forearms in its powerful jaws. He could always heal later, for now, he had to kill this thing and get to Aiden and get Mercy out of there. With a loud grunt, he focused on his form to get it to turn to smoke. However, a randomly shot bolt of electrical energy hit the bridge, sending shock waves through the wolf and Rin. The energy broke apart the flimsy wood structure, sending both Rin and the wolf into the water.
"You little fool--you're protecting the person that stole the prince!" The mage hissed throwing a hand out of crackling energy that shot off in the direction of a stall off to the side of Mercy. She couldn't see past the pain in her eyes, but she was going to kill this woman if it was the last thing she did. This host body could handle it till she could treat it. She sent another ray of energy just spastically out around her, hoping to land a hit. However, she paused when she heard something snap and a shout of pain nearby. She smiled and gave a giggle as she blew off the little mage in favor of waiting for her pet to bring her catch back. She heard something emerge from the water, but the sound of a someone sputtering out water signaled to her that it wasn't the dog. "You two do not know how to play fair!" She hissed before she winced at her eyes burning. She let out a frustrated scream before she began to chant something under her breath and light began to swallow her. A bird creature that resembled a griffin appeared beneath her, allowing her to lift from the ground. "I'm going to have my beast tear you to pieces for me. Not as much fun...but you sucked all the fun out of it!" She snapped as the beast roared and flew at Mercy. Before the bird could get it's tallons near Mercy, a screen of smoke erupted at her feet, making the beast wail and struggle to get free of the thick smoke with its owner. Before Mercy could get lost in the smoke as well, a body pressed against her, Rin's voice in her ear as he was trying not to be loud in their brief cover. "Got you. Follow me." Rin grabbed Mercy's hand, pulling her out of the smoke and with him towards an alley. He pulled her around a corner of a shop before he turned to her with a furious look on his face. "You should have left when I told you to. I could have handled the batshit crazy mage." He growled before he huffed, running a hand through his sopping wet hair. His look had changed substantially as the water melted away the curse making him resemble the prince. His hair, while still long from years of letting it grow to match Aiden's, was as white as snow and his once blue eyes turned a bright golden honey color. Upon inspection of his face, a few of Aiden's stronger family features had faded from his facial structure into a more delicate structure and he was a few scars on his neck that he had collected that Aiden didn't have. He looked strikingly different than he usually did at the moment, but he didn't have time to really talk about it or why. He would eventually explain that his hair and eye color and facial features were changed by the curse to mask which person was the real prince, since most never got to see the prince and even when they did it wasn't directly for protection sake. No one really knew what Aiden looked like outside of his family... "Come on, we need to find Aiden and Ciel. The mage with the bird should be busy for now." He said, since he was now concentrated on Aiden's well being since Mercy was out of immediate danger.

Ciel did as he was instructed, however he leaned over an roped the poor bastards throat out, taking a small drink however before going after another one, not minding that he was letting himself be known for a Vampire. Mercy would be upset later but if he apologized she would lighten up perhaps. He watched out of the corner of his eye as Aiden took two down, however getting a wound. He jumped on the last one quickly and snapped his neck. Looking at aiden, his front covered i Blood from feeding quickly and hastily he gave him a small smile. “ sorry, I’m sure there is a very good explaination for all this. Are you okay?” He said finally when he could get himself under better control. ~~~ Mercy watched as Rin fell into the water, figuring the man could hold his own still but focused on this woman who seemed intent on her still. Even with out her eye sight she knew she was dangerous to just lash out. When the large griffin appeared she purses her lips and began chanting a spell to paralyze any beginning- a creature included but didn’t need to release it, the words dying on her tongue as words sounding much like Rin fill her ears. She followed along dropping her spell and taking a deep breath but when she got a solid eye on him she looked hesitantly at his new appearance. It was different- though not unattractive, her cheeks showing a very slight blush as evidence of that. He had white hair- an Elven trait but his hair was too long to check his ears. She let his words, as harsh as they sounded wash off her since she didn’t care. “ I am not defenseless Rin.” She Stated bluntly to him since she knew what she could do. Her hand reached out, him not paying attention it seemed as he spoke. Her hand touching his jaw line, looking at him as if it were her imagination perhaps, even if it were not. Her fingers We’re going to go tot he scars there on his neck but she pulled her hand away a deeper blush on her face before turning a bit away from him. “ I’m sorry, yes- let’s go. I can heal your wounds when we are safe.” She stated clearly as she stepped off in a general direction she assumed her brother and Aiden would have been in. Hopefully not having made Rin feel uncomfortable.

Rin balked at Mercy arguing that she wasn’t defenseless, since he wasn’t trying to argue that. He just didn’t like people taking unnecessary risks and he preferred to work alone in things. He could trust himself better than he could others, especially some female mage that he knew very little about. He opened his mouth to argue, but her sudden movement caught him off guard and made his mouth snap shut. He didn’t expect her to touch his face, which kept him from reacting adversely. He didn’t like anyone really to touch him, more because he wasn’t used to it. He usually didn’t let people close enough to attempt it. Had he seen her hand, he might have caught her wrist and warned her against it. Now, he just stood stunned as her fingers lightly traced his skin. It was an odd feeling, her warm, soft finger tips grazing his skin, leaving trails of warmth where they traveled. He was frozen in place, his mind trying to piece together why she would want to touch him so familiarly. But instead of finding an answer, she pulled away with an apology that snapped him out of his odd state of feeling. He felt an awkward feeling rise in his chest, one that grew when he noticed her face seemed a bit red. Had she not meant to touch him? He swallowed and brushed the thoughts off, as he tried to regain his focus. “R-right.” He said simply before following her out into the open. When they emerged out on the street, they got the tail end of the woman leaving and found Aiden and Ciel easily. They were the only bloodied two on the streets... ~||~~ Aiden stopped to catch his breath when the last man fell, clearing some sweat from his brow. He saw the state that Ciel was in when he approached and he felt a bit tense seeing the blood on his mouth. It wasn’t a pleasant sight, but Aiden didn’t get the sense that Ciel was a threat. He had himself under control, which was enough reason for Aiden to relax as much as he could after getting in a fight. “Believe me, I wish there was a good explanation for all of that. It will have to wait a bit till I’m sure that we’re in the clear. But yeah I’m fine. Just a knick or two from being careless. What about you? You weren’t kidding about your fighting skills. I’m impressed at how fricking fast you are!” He said before his expression melted into concern. “Rin and Mercy. If they came after me they’ll try and harm Rin.” He said as he headed back to the market. When they came to the street, he paused and looked past the people scattering around them in frantic running and attempts to hide in panic. After all, the calm of the morning had been broken by arrows and mages fighting. A group of guards ran past towards another part of the town, making Aiden wonder if that was where they could find Rin and Mercy. “We should head where the guards are. Wherever trouble is, Rin’s sure to be there.” He said since the man had a knack for putting himself in danger for Aiden’s safety. Before they got too far, they stumbled across guards trying to corner a woman on a gryphon creature near the markets. Aiden paused to look at the creature and the elf woman controlling it. He had never seen magic like that before and it was actually quite intimidating. The woman gave a his of something in another language, causing sparks to fly off the bird that sent the guards back a few paces. In the disruption, the creature raised itself from the ground and took off with the woman on its back. As quick as they were there, they were gone in a show of speed that left Aiden a bit stunned. In his state of disbelief, he was caught off guard by someone grabbing his arm. He jumped and lashed out with a swing that was easily dodged by Rin. Aiden saw Rin’s features had returned and that the man was soaking wet. Seems the curse had temporarily faded in the water. “Damn Rin, you look like a drowned cat.” He snickered to break the ice on the tense moment. Rin raised a brow at him, his serious expression not fading as he searched Aiden for injury. He found the cut on his arm easily, the one he now shared due to the connection from the curse. “I leave you alone for a second you turn the town into a war-zone. Figures.” He huffed before looking to Ciel with a more critical stare that wasn’t meant in harshness, just being careful since the boy was covered in blood. “Thank you for protecting Aiden—” He began to say to Ciel but Aiden cut him off. “Hey, I helped! I’m not helpless Rin.” Aiden complained, getting an unimpressed look from Rin. “Let’s get off the streets. We have some explaining to do, in less public places...” Rin stayed before he turned towards the inn. Before they could get far, the guards moved in their way. “You four, witnesses stated that the mage attacked you personally. Explain it...” One ordered, but another looked at Ciel with wide eyes. “Is that blood his or someone else’s?” He asked, getting a few looks from the other guards. Aiden moved forward, folding his arms at the men’s skeptical stares. “We saw she was planning something and decided to stop her. Now can we go back to our rooms to heal up after saving your town?” Aiden asked in a snarky tone that made the guard narrow his eyes. “Not until we get sufficient answers. People identified these two as mages. Undocumented mages are strictly forbidden within city limits by the high law of the land. Are they yours or are they someone else’s?” He snapped at Aiden, basically talking about Rin and Ciel like they were dogs, as mages were treated in most areas that didn’t trust magic. Aiden looked stunned briefly and then angry. “No, they aren’t my property they are my friends—“ Rin elbowed Aiden hard in the side before he looked at the guard with a firm expression. “I’m contracted by his family,” he jerked his finger back at Aiden before looking to Mercy, “she hired us as protection for her and her brother....that a good enough explanation for you?” He asked as he was tired of explaining himself to people that held straight prejudice. The guards then looked to Mercy that mostly looked like some kind of elf and hadn’t been pointed to outwardly as a mage. “Is that accurate ma’am?” The guard doing most of the talking asked, making Rin glare some at the fact that they didn’t trust his words.

She kept her eyes ahead of them to find her little brother covered in blood- his front covered i some gore and such, his mouth a red smear where he had gotten out of control it seemed. She purses her lips at that idea. Ciel grinned brightly at being accepted, appearances aside for his skill- even at his young age. When he mentioned his sister, his expression got a little dark but nodded and followed after him. He hoped to every set of God’s that nothing happened to his sister- else there was going to be hell to pay. When they got close to the other mage he snickered. “ a griffin? Weak- I can conjure a dragon.” He stated since he had been working on that a very long time and it took a while to get their trust. He wanted as Rin- or who he assumed was him, by him being with his sister who looked fine thankfully. He was used to the harsh looks he got over his current appearance so he didn’t mind the man, his words on protecting from fAiden made him smile since the man had held his own after all. Mercy was watching her brother and handed his part of her jacket to wipe some blood off of him, knowing she didn’t like him covered in blood. When approached by the guard Mercy kept he rface polite as they argued when she was addressed she nodded. “ my brother is documented sir. I have indeed hired these men to protect me and my brother.” She stated honestly since there was paper work on her and her brother in her trunk.

The guards looked amongst themselves before the main one, the one that seemed to be in command, gave Mercy a small nod. “I will be by to check those papers if more of this happens. I understand you are outsiders so you don’t understand how our home works. We like our peace and I intend to keep it. If you intend to keep bringing trouble with you then you and your posse will be escorted out in a less friendly fashion.” The guard looked to the other two, Rin especially since his look was rather obstinate. “Am I clear?” Aiden saw The wheels turning in Rin’s head and felt like he might say something snarky. The man had an issue with authority, especially city guards. “Of course, officers. Now I’d like to go get healed. Our friend here is an immaculate healer if any bystanders got injured.” Aiden said before Rin could speak, noticing the man’s hackles that were raised eased. The guard looked surprised before nodding a bit. “A healer...I’ll keep that in mind.” The guards left, still looking leery of Ciel but left it alone. Rin rolled his eyes at them before he looked to Mercy. “Let’s get what you need before we regroup at the inn. Things seem to be calming down out here.” He said, choosing to ignore the looks townspeople were giving them. Aiden gave a small frown before looking to Ciel. “Well we’ve got clothes and weapons. Ciel’s looking a bit rough though and it might make some of the merchants squeamish. No offense buddy.” Aiden said, since he wanted Mercy and Ciel to really be the judge of what happened next. Honestly Aiden was uneasy after all of this and needed a breather, but he knew Rin was used to functioning after violence.

Mercy nodded as they left, figuring something lake that would have happened, she was just glad it calmed down. When Aiden went on about getting things they needed she nodded. “I have everything I need already. Here Rin- take this gold and get what you require. Aiden, Ciel, and I will be in my room for a healing session.” She Stated as she pulled a moderate sack of gold from her cleavage, handing it to Rin. She cast a sharp look at her brother who frowned and looked down knowing she wasn’t happy with how he handled things.
Once inside she had Aiden sit and get cleaned up like she made ciel take a cold bath- not caring if he felt uncomfortable in the room with Aiden while being naked. She put a herb mixture on his cut to draw out anything not supposed to be there as she looked her brother over for injury- finding none thankfully. She gave his wet forehead a kiss and patted his head lightly. “I’m glad your alright. I was worried Ciel.” She Stated quietly to him getting him to giggle a bit. “ I’m fine, I can take care of my self- just like you can.” He Stated letting her know they both hair their mothers independant streak.
