Rin raised a brow when she pulled the gold out of her...ample cleavage, something that made Aiden even blink with curiousity. He would have taken notice of said cleavage but felt the need to keep his eyes up at her face. Couldn’t have Rin scolding his bad behavior if he made a comment about what else she was hiding in there... He followed the two away and left Rin to shopping. He was content sitting and letting the wound heal with the herbs while she tended to her brother. He felt odd now alone with them, but he knew if they weren’t freaking out yet then they probably were going to be okay to trust with the big secret. The cute interaction between her and her brother was sweet, enough so Aiden decided to break his silence. “It really is awesome you are so supportive of each other. I admire it.” He said since he noticed they both worked well together and were lucky to have the other. Rin returned a while later after catching flack or stares from everyone he spoke to. Honestly he was initimidating to look at with his cold look, but it got worse when he was angry. He got what he needed from them and ignored the stares and small hushed comments, since he was used to them back when it got out he was a mage. After that, he was used to going unnoticed when he was with the thieves guild and those that did know him didn’t mess with him or avoided him. It was better that way, since he preferred his quiet and solitude over loud or obnoxious people. Aiden was an exception, mostly because his life was tied to his. Also because the big idiot grew on people the longer he was around them. When Rin entered, Mercy seemed busy with something with Ciel and Aiden was looking over the sword. He smiled at Rin before pulling one of the daggers he bought out for the man. “Look, the matching one is in a bandits leg but I thought you could use something for your magic stuff.” Rin took the small blade before bowing his head some with thanks. He then set aside the clothes and armor in favor of going to Aiden. He lifted up the short sleeve to get a look at his arm, finding green herb salve was on it, no doubt to clean it. “It stings a bit.” Aiden said and Rin gave him a nod. “I know, I feel it too.” He said before placing what was left of her money on Mercy’s bedside table. Seeing as there was a fire drawn in the room, he went and sat by it to start to dry off better. Once he did the curse could resume and things could get safer for Aiden again. Aiden noticed Rin was being his usual quiet self so he decided to speak up. “So guys thanks again for helping...um I’m not sure who those people were but they seemed to not be friendly so it’s safe to say they might want to hurt us. Maybe just Rin and I...” He began since he wasn’t sure how to start all of this, since it was all a bit convoluted and crazy.

Mercy glanced up at Rin and gave him a small smile, since Family was important to her. It wasn’t long till Rin came back in, looking no worse for wares but he still looked damp. She noted the money as well as the items he bought, including the darker fabrics she had picked out earlier, making her smile softly at the idea that he liked her choice. As the boy went on randomly speaking it seemed she rolled her eyes and patted her brother head, telling him to stoke the fire to help warm Rin. She went over to Aiden and moved his sleeve. “I’m not sure what kind of curse you both share but if I heal him I can assume you will heal as well Rin?” She asked glancing over her shoulder at him since she hadn’t seen him be injured too much more hen perhaps a bruised rib or so. Her hands erupted into a deep honey golden color which was healing magic thankfully for everyone- she was in a helpful mood. The wound took a few minutes to heal but it was a small pink mark on the boy’s skin when she finally pulled her hands away. “There we go. I could have assumed they were targeting you both.” She Stated as if it were overly obvious now that she had time to think about it. “Look, I don’t care who you are. No one should be targeted like that. It seems you have a tied fate, and ours have suddenly fallen into a tangle it seems.” She Stated with a thinking expression, not quite a frown yet. Ciel cocked his head to the side as he looked at his sister, having gotten Rin the extra blanket off the end of the bed to warm him faster- at his sisters heeding.

The comment about the curse made Aiden nod before Rin could answer. "Yep, it's why Rin looks like--different. It's a curse to help protect me. You guys are actually the first people to really see us both in public together. You know, so no one knows which one is the real me. The shared injuries is the bad part...well for Rin more so." Aiden said with a soft smile as he watched Rin rest his head on his knees, shutting his eyes and seemingly soothed by the feeling of Mercy's magical energy coursing on Aiden's arm. It felt like rain on a hot day, like ice to a fire...it was nice and warm...soft. Rin pulled himself out of the daze when he felt someone move near him. He tensed with a harsh look in Ciel's direction, till it eased when the boy offered a blanket. "Thanks." He said softly, putting it around his shoulders with a small huff at the warmth. Already his hair was beginning to look darker and his eyes turning more of a grey color on their way to being blue. The facial features were the last to change, but would soon be in place. Honestly, Rin felt odd even looking remotely like himself in front of so many strangers. It once was strictly not allowed, so to have that freedom was different even if it was short lived. Mercy's curt and sudden response made Aiden's eyes widen some in surprise, while Rin looked unfazed. Aiden thought the woman might be at least a little curious or worried, but Rin figured she had enough to hide on her own to not want to get closer with them. The minute one person opened up, the others felt obligated to or like that made them somehow closer. Rin was content with just being her employed help, while he figured Aiden was willing to be more if they wanted it. "I agree." Rin said, but Aden gave a rather uncertain hum. "I mean I get it...but I would feel more comfortable if you know some of the information in case it comes back to harm someone. That way you can make informed decisions. Father always told me that the right decisions are made on fact and experience rather than intuition." He said even though that premise had been with war and not a prince's identity. "The gist is I'm a prince. The crown prince to be exact. Harena was my home till someone attacked the palace. That's how Rin and I got to be with you. Rin is my bodyguard. That mage lady and the bandit guys probably work for the same people that attacked the palace..." He said before giving a small frown when he saw Rin was looking off at the fire and not adding anything. It seemed he was thinking hard about something... "Anyways, I do need to find a bit more information about that eventually...Later though. I do want to ask if that's a bit too much for you two to have traveling with you? Would you want us to leave? If it is, I understand. After the talk with the guards, I can assume more attacks like that might not be received as well in other towns, let alone they might get annoying or more dangerous after a while." Aiden said, since he wanted to be upfront with Mercy even if she said she didn't really care. It was better to give her what she needed to make a sound decision before jsut accepting that.

Mercy nodded to Rin as he spoke that he understood her opinion on things but it seemed his charge thought he had to spill a secret anyhow. She didn’t care, it wasn’t something she had to be concerned about since she had said her piece. She moved towards Rin and sat not too far from him, a hand going to his hair lightly to see the change. It put a frown on her lips since she liked his appearance much more with the silvery white hair then a plain black color- it was too... well human like for her attention. Her eyes went to her brother when he seemed to settled into a seat by Aiden seemingly happy to hear what he had to say. When Aiden went on about being a Prince- a crown prince of their not so friendly kingdom, she purses her lips. ‘Of course she happened to run into other nobility in a forgein place.’ She thought to her self with an internal scoff. She sat and seemed to be thinking a moment longer then it took for her brother to come out of his slight look of surprise. “I see now how you knew about the palace architecture. Well since your crown prince maybe one day you can show me around there?” He said in a joking manner since that was very much so out of the current question. “ I can protect myself but I must defer to my sister’s decision. She is after all I charge of me out side of our home of Nix- till I become of age that is.” He said looking a little off since he was admitting to being so young still. Mercy glanced over at her brother and gave him a nod since he was being honest with them like she was going to be. “Well Rin and yourself have proven your selves capable so far, so I don’t see why you can’t protect your selves. You, Prince Aiden seem to be accident prone however I see my brother is excited to have more boys around for a change. She joked but didn’t make fun of her brother much. “ I am alright with traveling with you both still, for what happens when they catch up again and one or both of you get injured? With out me- healing will take a long while and that’s not what you need if you are going to get revenge and take your home back someday. Besides...You both don’t seem too bad for Royalty.” She joked at both aiden and Rin since she wanted to lighten the mood perhaps. Rin was starting to look like Aiden again much to her (personal) dislike. Thought she didn’t state it.

Rin listened to Aiden talk, keeping his attention on the fire to hide his thoughts mostly. He wasn't one for dragging in the past unless it was necessary. While he felt Aiden was justified in telling them, Rin didn't want his own personal story out there. Aiden knew some, but not all, and Rin liked it that way. The fewer people knew, the better off he was. He could almost see something in the flames, his memories dancing in the frantic flickers, but a touch to his hair drew him away from his thoughts. His now blue eyes flicked to Mercy, showing he was caught off guard by the touch. She was making a habit of touching him and it was starting to become a habit he was going to have to understand before he ended up smacking her hand away. The small joke from Ciel made Aiden give a half smile and a nod, though his smile did fall some when Ciel mentioned they were from Nix. Rin looked to Aiden before his eyes went to Mercy instead. He was reading her expression for any sign that her brother said the wrong thing, that they had a reason not to trust her. But when she didn't change her demeanor besides a frown and Ciel stayed calm, Rin figured they were outside the conflict between the two nations. Aiden smiled once more at Mercy's response before he gave a bit of a chuckle at the last bit. "Thank you Mercy. I appreciate that. We would be kinda lost without you and Ciel, right Rin?" He asked since the man looked like he was dry and back to his usual look. Rin gave it some thought before he shrugged. "Maybe. The healing is helpful." Aiden blinked at his softer reply since Rin usually was very certain of his words. Rin got to his feet and took the clothing as he was going to put it away in their room and change into something cleaner. That canal water smelled of lumber and sap, two smells he couldn't stand. "I'm going to change, Aiden perhaps you should as well." He said since Aiden did look like he fought a bear in his clothes with the tears and the area where he got cut. Aiden looked down at himself before giving a bright smile. "Hm, yeah I look a bit rough." He laughed before walking to the door with Rin. When they got to the room, Rin was in the middle of changing when Aiden gave a bit of a hum of thought. "So...what do you think? ABout them being from Nix?" Aiden said, figuring that's why Rin wanted him alone to talk. Rin looked at Aiden with a frown. "I think we should watch them carefully. They know quite a bit now and I don't think it was wise to tell them that much." He said before he pulled the dark black-blue shirt over his head. Aiden pursed his lips and gave a shrug at that. "They seem trust worthy and they haven't done anything to make me think they are trying to harm us....Besides, I like traveling with them." Aiden tossed on a red shirt and proceeded to wriggle into some darker fabric pants. "Ciel is fun to talk to and funny, could probably bench press me-- and Mercy is pretty and a pretty good healer. A little more serious though." He said before getting a look from Rin that spelled Aiden was being childish in his analysis. "She's dealing with two children. Of course she's serious. Is pretty the only thing you're concerned over?" He said, a hint of snarkiness in his tone. Aiden gave a laugh before shaking his head. "No, I like her too. I'm just mentioning she has great assets, but you already know that. You got a good look earlier over that bag of coins." Rin shot Aiden a glare, knowing the man was just teasing him to be an ass. They had a sibling relationship after all and Rin knew Aiden could catch him in this lie. He hardly could deny that he hadn't looked briefly, though it hadn't been in an overtly sexualizing way. He didn't think that was right or consider doing that to a woman he hardly knew, let alone one that was just being nice to them. "I'd keep your opinions of her assets to yourself. I watched her blind that mage today. looked painful." He said as a smarting remark back, before walking out of the room. He was mostly going to find his own area in the inn to have a breather from Aiden's chattiness. He wasn't used to being surrounded by people constantly, especially when he usually got time to himself in the palace. He finally found a nice area they seemed to set aside in the inn for reading, with the only other person there being an old man that was playing some boardgame by a window. Rin took a chair nearest the exit and began to look it over, even if it was boring as dirt. He had to look like he was doing something so he didn't frighten people off when he spaced off. He had a tendency to glare when he was thinking and glaring at a book was more socially apprpriate than glaring at a random person.

Mercy watched Rin as he spoke softly the her skill could be helpful. Yes it was helpful but she didn’t mind the company herself. She let them leave the room since they did need a change of clothes. As they left she got up from her place and got her bathing kit out, washing up a little in a basin of water with some scented oils since she was a lady and she damned well like to smell like one. Ciel watched Aiden a Snack Aron leave with a frown. “ you don’t think they hate us so you?” He asked after a few minutes since he had said they were from Nix- while they were from Harena and the war and everything. “No Ciel dear, if they did I feel Rin would have said something to the effect of leaving. Aiden seems alright with the fact and has, as I can assume, figured out we are not part of the on going hostilities.” She stated getting a nod from her brother. She had a way of being blunt but soft with Ciel knowing he took things to heart easily. Ciel fell asleep before she was even done redressing for the evening to relax, figuring he was going to be out and miss out on dinner, she left the room to let him sleep. It was much more covering the her usual attire but she wanted to warm up and relax. Heading down stairs into a more quiet area, she had a book from her trunk, a larger tome, old looking, leather bound all the writing slanted and hand written. She didn’t even notice Rin in the corner by the door as she curled up in the large chair by the fireplace, using the light from the fire to look over the script. Rin sat looking at the small parcel from his sister, the one he had behind the book. He knew this must have been something important if Essa thought it was vital enough to give it to him before.... He swallowed hard, remembering the words she whispered to him before he lost consciousness. "Protect the seal, brother...I believe in you." Her soft, faltering words reminded him of the pain he felt and the small, cloth wrapped item in his hand felt heavier from the gravity of the situation. But he had to know what was inside if he was going to protect it. He went to open it but paused when in walked Mercy. She seemed to be oblivious to him, but perhaps that was for the best. He didn't wish to bother her after that awkward conversation and the uneasy air he felt around her. She was hiding something and didn't particularly seem thrilled with the conversation. Whether Aiden had meant to upset her or not, he had bothered her. Something that Rin couldn't stand with if it impacted their ability to work well with Mercy. Rin understood there were things better left unsaid and he didn't want her thinking she needed to be upfront with them. As long as she was a reliable ally, she could keep to herself all she wanted. Rin went over to her seat and looked at the book, frowning some at the odd scrawled lettering. It was intricate and rather pretty, something that he couldn't read at all though. He cleared his throat to alert her to his presence as he knew he walked quietly out of habit and being trained as a thief. "Pardon if I'm intruding Mercy...I wanted to apologize for earlier." He said his expression serious though there was a sincere tint to his voice. "I got the feeling Aiden's over-sharing made you uncomfortable. You've been nothing but kind and supportive of us with everything you have done. It was wrong for us to trample on our personal space or the lines you don't want to be crossed." He said, wondering if she would feel okay talking to him about this or if he was making it worse. While Aiden liked being personable, Rin didn't actively seek it out unless it was necessary. In this situation, he felt his potential ally was compromised and he didn't like those odds if another situation arose, regardless of his trust of the two. While Aiden accepted them with open arms, Rin was reserving his judgment and trust for a good reason. His life and AIden's hung in the balance if one mistake was made and he intended to remain vigilant with it.

She was in the middle of a sentence, one on how to properly grasp the concept of using fire to heal or purify something when she heard some one clear their throat. Her look might have been harsh at first but it changed when she realized it was Rin, not having noticed him. At the comment on wanting to apologize for earlier she rose a brow. She allowed him to speak before nodding. “It’s alright. It is odd for me to have something like that happen. I hope you excuse my rudeness earlier- in Fae culture, if some tells something or importance the other is supposed to do the same. I do not think my brother thought on his words before he said them. I wish to state we are not part of this war and we want nothing to do with it honestly. We mean you no harm and your secret is safe with us.” She said with a smile that was edging on soft. She moved her finger along the page after glancing down a moment then back at Rin. “ you know he was worried aAiden might not like us after he said where we were from. I assured him it wasn’t the case- since you haven’t dismissed yourselves.” She said more or a joke but it rang true honestly.

The harsh look was hardly unexpected since Rin would have done something similar had a stranger approached him. He could only imagine with her rather...natural good looks that she was approached by men often. Many probably got that same harsh stare...He pushed the thoughts from his mind as he wasn't there to comment on her looks or care for that matter. They were business partners and that was all. Her words about Fae culture made his brows knit, as he was unsure why the Fae would have such a custom. Didn't that result in dangrous secret sharing and make people uncomfortably expectant of information. Well, that was why Rin couldn't live in a Fae society. He would ignore or fight the first prick that tried to use their own bullshit to push him to say anything. He understood how uncomfortable that was for Mercy and would make sure to warn Aiden about it. The news about them being on their side made Rin's expression smooth back to its usually composed look with a nod of affirmation. Rin hadn't thought they would harm them since they knew they were from Harena and hadn't done anything to harm them already. That and Rin was confident he could protect Aiden if they did. Both would be a challenge, but he could buy the prince time if the need arose. Her joke broke his morbid thoughts and he gave a shake of his head. He did almost crack a smile at the news that Ciel was worried about Aiden hating him. "To be honest, Aiden couldn't hate his worst enemy. He would be difficult if I did think we should leave...I don't. It would be stupid to when you haven't done anything to warrant it." He said before he stood there quietly a moment as he was sure by the way she touched the book that he interrupted her. He cleared his throat before looking down. "As long as everything is alright, I'll leave you with your reading of--whatever that is." He felt an awkward energy rise and Rin had to take a moment to reason if it was socially appropriate to leave yet. He didn't want to bother her, but he was curious about the book. But of course, he was working on being a bit more personable with this woman, at least a little less rude if he wanted to keep this ally around.

Mercy saw his almost smile at her reassurances and smiled back since he was being nice. When he attempted to excuse himself she rose a brow at him. “ if you like, I could read you a section perhaps? If it interests you so? It’s a Fae book on Magic’s- all its used in all classes. This particular segment is on using fire-“ She said before pointing to some of the red print on the page. “ well using fire to heal. Any form of magic can be used for many aplication.” She Stated before patting the spot next to her hopefully being inviting enough to let him stay, she knew he was being polite but she would humor him if he wished.

Rin was surprised she actually offered him to stay, let alone that she would read him a Fae book. Weren’t the Fae secretive of their things? Then again, why be difficult about trivial things? He thought he should leave, that she might be offering because she felt uncomfortable. But when she patted the seat next to her, he felt the offer was less unclear. He gave a pause before he sat beside her. He made sure they weren’t touching or awkwardly close, as he himself didn’t want unpermitted contact with her. He did look over the page that was in her hands, his head tilting some as he thought on her words about spells and their application across specialties. “Yes, that makes sense. My own style is weak against elemental, as it’s elements of reality against illusion...but I would like to see this fire healing some time...” he said being cordial but there was a hint of curiousity in his tone. He had always like magic with elements, since it always seemed so beautiful and tangible. Illusion was what he was better suited for though and what his teacher was specialized in... “it would be interesting though if there is some application for me.” He said since he only knew a few spells. Three she had seen, the ability to make his form smoke like in nature to divert and absorb damage, making a false clone of himself or someone, and the smoke screen. The last was a more complex spell, the one that consumed his form currently and made him resemble Aiden. He could take another’s form briefly, if of course the curse wasn’t tied to his life. He had seen her poison abilitiy and healing, the rest was a mystery on what she could do.

Mercy was happy Rin accepted her invitiatiok to stay. She felt him take a seat, not sitting on top of her thankfully, she did like her space. Glancing back at the book she nodded. “ one day you may if your accident prone Friend keeps it up.” She Stated more as a joke but knew it might happen one day. She purses her lips before flipping through a few more pages quickly and read a small inscription at the top describing what kind of magic the spell worked best for. She glanced at about four before tapping the bottom of the page with a smile. “ here is one. It’s for Illusion magic users. It uses Fae methods however. I’m not sure you know those, might have to teach you one day perhaps- if you want to use the spell...” She more rambled as she read the text and nodded to herself. “ okay, so this spell appears to uses the ground to open and close around an enemies feet. Enabling their movements when in reality it uses their mind to assume they are stuck when they aren’t. It’s a cool sounding trick for running I’m sure.” She said explaining the effect and how the intended for the spell sees the effect verses how it really is. She glanced at Rin wonder if if that was something he liked the sound of or if she needed to keep looking.

Rin actually gave a bit of a smile at her joke, his eyes crinkling at the corners as though he might laugh, but he didn’t. Instead he watched her flip through pages, quietly listening to her work as she looked through the book. She was so focused, so intent on finding something that it was rather interesting to watch. He couldn’t understand it, but it was still a good way to judge her reactions to the magical texts. When she finally stopped on one, he gave a curious look at the shapes and symbols. However, she brought up that it was a spell, one for illusion magic. Her rambling was hardly annoying as she went on talking about the Fae magic and teaching him, especially since the spell seemed very useful. It was...funny that she picked something perfect for his fighting style. Avoid where you could, strike when was necessary, escape was always an option. He thought a moment on the spell, wondering if it was actually alright for him to tell her that he would like to learn it. Was it intruding? Was that okay within the parameters of what their agreements were? In his thinking, he didn’t notice her looking at him till he glanced her way to give an answer. He looked her in the eyes a moment, before he gave a nod and looked back at the book. “I would like that. I don’t know Fae methods. So you might have to teach a bit.” He said before giving a small shrug. “The man that taught me did know a few...but he coveted that power. It made him very good at his job.” He said, remembering the old man that had worked his way into procuring a few Fae spells. It made him a legendary thief and a better fighter, hence why he never taught his pupils any of the spells.

At hearing that his old teacher knew Fae magic she rose a brow. “ he must have befriended a Fae the. Because we do not just give out lessons like bread to birds. You must earn that place. Earn the right to know as we know. It’s a different way of thinking then most mundane Magics.” She Stated very sternly since she took her life and her culture seriously. “ Alright, I’m glad I could find something of interest for you.” She Stated looking him over but took her eyes away after a moment since they weren’t the intense eyes she liked better, they were a near match for the other man up stairs, the one who didn’t resemble anything close to her liking. “ would you like to have half the lesson now?” She asked as she skimmed through the instruction for the first part wondering if he would even understand how Fae spells were at first a two step process.

The stern way she spoke about the spells and his old mentor's knowledge made Rin give pause. He never asked, the man just told him why he never taught anyone the spells Rin had seen him use. But to Mercy this seemed odd and an affront to how her people did things. But if these techniques were so secretive, why was she so willing to help him with one? He wouldn't ask and didn't comment more on her culture, as it wasn't his business and he didn't want to push her. Though he was curious why she kept looking at him rather oddly. Was it because of something he said? Was something on his face? Did she have a hard time dealing with the fact that his appearance shifted? He didn't have time to ask before she was moving on. When she offered to start the lesson, he gave her a small nod. "Yes. This new way of thinking sounds interesting." He said honestly, as thinking was something everyone did, but seeing a new way of it could only enhance his skills. Besides, it had been a decent amount of time since he had had a magic lesson, even if he meditated with his magic and practiced to stay strong with it.
