Vin put a hand on the queens shoulder in a comforting way then took his spot to stand between the brothers. "Good decisions are never made in hast my queen. Your husband- My king-My friend-"He paused swallowing a bit of sadness," He told he to judge in a way that none would think- I have been watching the boys since they were very young and I know both very well. The king told me to not judge in haste- and I will inform the High counsel my lady- They will listen to me." He listened to Cearúil's lack of understanding as he always was quick to anger and last to understand. "None are above suspicion. How ever I know you are all innocent." He listened with his head down with the more private conversation going on but when he was addressed he looked back up at Daire who had addressed him. "Yes, We have found a man who was forced into the act of delivering the poisoned wine to the table however his daughter was kidnapped and he saw no other way- Niamh- the dancer that had accompanied me is helping to search for the girl and the man has been detained and punishment is being held till his daughter is found. I have reported all I know to be true at the time my Prince."~-----------------------------~ Maria sighed as she took a bath, it had been a long overly eventful evening. She found herself crying from time to time over the loss of the great king, as well as the sadness she felt form the Prince. It was a sad feeling hat mad one want to cut out their heart to keep it from hurting that bad, to take away the emotion.

Daire watched Vin, watching how he handled the situation. Their father was right to trust him. He was a good man, even Cear?il couldn't deny that. So much so that Cear?il even seemed to calm a little after his explenation about the servant. But those that really knew Cear?il, knew him being quite, expressionless, and calm was a really bad sign. It meant he was angry, more than just normally so. So much that he would actually do whatever came to mind that would make him stop feeling that way. 'So the servant did do it...knowingly...and tried to justify it as a way to save his daughter...' How could someone think that way? Sure they were family, but if meant chosing Family over the stability of your nation than by god the choice was obvious. And yet he got to live till they wasted their efforts finding that girl?! Cear?il fist clenched but he didn't dare say a word. The queen looked to Vin in surprise. "Thank heavens...they found someone responsible." She all but hugged Vin, an odd gesture because a woman of nobility should never be seen clinging to someone of lower status. She released him, eyes welling up with fresh tears. "Thank you..for your loyalty to our family." She said before turning back to Daire and Cear?il, "Just speak with the High Counsel. Listen to them and answer honestly. This too shall pass with ease."~~~ The maid walked into the room, leaving one of the queen's sleeping garmets under her instruction for Maria. After all it wasn't proper for a lady to not have something to wear that covered, especially infront of men of stature. She also set aside some tea for her, just incase her nerves needed it. The whole castle was feeling the blow of the effects of what just happened after all. She looked out to the water that reflected out of the large arched window type opening and the barrier that kept the water away. The maid knew that past these walls was the town, a city completely consumed in water, no air for a human like her to live in. It was a place for the lower classed Meru and Mermidian's that had nothing to do with the Courts. It wasn't always such a shady place. During the day it was quite nice, after all that's where the markets were. But since the war and poverty arose to an all time high...things had gotten worse for those outside the palace walls. For anyone who happened to be venturing there...*cough cough* they must understand that dealings down there were not the same as the rational and political ones of the nobels. There the crime circles ruled, the people who controlled the people and made the dirty deals, and those that pulled the strings from behind the scenes. (Sorta kinda like this kind of setup outside of the palace area) 4.bp.blogspot.com/_KLJU3hHDGVM/TDLy_BYXJ_I/AAAAAAAACvI/dHHJ4k0IWHM/s1600/atlantis_Fantasy-World_Wallpapers.jpg

Taking a deep breath before entering the shady building that stood before her, Niamh knew that this was going to be interesting. These people knew most everything happening around the city, especially Tir. He knew about anything bad that was going to happen or had recently happened. At least, that was what her brother had told her. If she was ever in trouble, Tir would know where to find him...thing was, her brother was long dead now; Niamh wasn't sure if this connection was still viable to her family.
Entering, those at the bar glanced up, a few murmuring to themselves. Making her way to the bar, she leaned over and bit her lip, chest showing in a quite provocative manor. "I need to speak to Tir." She said softly, the bar tender nodding with a smirk, give him a bit of a show and he would let you in. For guys it was money, for girls...just flash a little skin and you were good.
A few moments later a seaweed black haired, tanned meru came out, scars riddled his bare chest. A pale green fin with flourishing blue tips trailed out behind him as he flipped his way towards Niamh. A curious expression formed on his face, he wasn't sure what to say it seemed. "I'm Niamh, Faolen's younger sister." She said, moving closer to the male. His green eyes widened and he ushered her into the back room.
"He spoke of you often when he was here. A good guy, I trusted him with my life" He spoke, his eyes apologizing for her loss without saying it in words. "Now what can I help you with? I assume this is a business meeting as your family never come her for the food." Floating lazily, he smiled, eyes working on how she looked, along with the door behind her. He could use this girl, he knew it, but he wouldn't just yet.
"A kidnapping that happened a bit recently. A girl named Lily, teenage I believed. They wanted her father to help with the assassination on the king." She was blunt, her mood sour because of today's events and the fact that she realized she might have to actually kill. The first was the hardest and she really wasn't sure she wanted to, but this was different. This had made her angry, her father had stopped her from going after the men who had killed her brother, she would take out the left over anger on her new targets.
"I might be able to help." Tir spoke slowly, eyes narrowed. It seemed he had already heard about the kings death, though who hadn't, it was big news. "Though I need a favor in return..." He trailed off and Niamh's eyed the man warily. ((First off, here is Tir And Kimmy, can he tell her a name or something? I need a bit of info if so =p))

"Don't think wrong my Princes', the only reason the man lives is so he can lead us to the person who was ultimately responsible for this. He is just an aid in this... My loyalty can only be gained by true respect and honor for another. Your husband, as well as your sons' have gained my respect and honor threw their endeavors. I shall judge accordingly and Prepare them for what ever they may need." He said with a bow as he stood by Daire, he needed to talk to him a little out of the public family's eye.
~----------------------------------~
Maria sighed knowing she was going to have to calm down if she wanted any sleep. "Thank you." She said to the maid," Would you like to share some tea with me?" She said not really wanting to be alone for the time, she would rather be hanging out with Cear but he was busy. She was in the nightgown the maid had given her but she still had a robe on over it.

(sure Elfy a name would be awesome. even make up a place if you want. The more info the better. ah by the way I sent you a message over an idea I had! Mo drama!!!! Oh and btw I don't know why my accented u's keep getting messed up so I'm just going to type Cear's name without it.) Daire looked to the others, listening to them speak and Vin explain his view point. The man was of course straight forward as always, even with his standing closer to him as if needing to say something. "Well if that is all that needs to be discussed I will be retiring for the evening...Good night, Mother." He said before crossing the space and coming to pass Cearuil, stopping beside him. "Promise me you won't do anything brash..." He whispered before putting on that soft smile and with a small motion for Vin to follow he walked out into the halls to listen to what he had to say.
Cearuil waited for Daire to leave before he looked to his mother. She was watching him, tears welling in her eyes like she pitied him. He hated that look. More than he hated not being able to do anything about it. "Mother, I may be young but I'm not some fragile little boy. I can handle this." He said, making the queen blink back her tears and sniffle. "I know honey, believe me...I do." She walked forward hugging him tightly, tears streaming down her face. He allowed her to hug him, unable to provide much comfort since he wasn't used to this much emotion in one day. A life away from family and full of blood and war made him cold to alot of things, especially distant to most feelings. "I'm so proud of you boys...but promise me something. If anything ever happen between you two, promise me that you will reconcile. Only one may be king but both need each other to survive." She kissed his cheek before walking off with her attendant, who held her arm just incase she fainted. ~~~ The maid looked to Maria, her eyes widdening slightly. "Um-ah-that isn't-I don't think I can." She bowed slightly, but then took another look at Maria. The girl looked so sad and alone....she couldn't leave her like that. She sat down on the end of the bed, her head low out of courtesy as she poured and prepared the tea. "Thank you madam...I feel after tonight, this was necessary for the nerves." She added then looked to her, hoping to cheer her up. "And your dress madam, I had it placed in the closet for safe keeping, it was a lovely thing, the most beautiful I've ever seen.."

'What made me agree to do this again?' Niamh thought to herself and she wiped down the tables in the waterless domed building. She had two hours left on her amulet and an hour until she was to work in the water side of the restaurant. She was working here all day since Tir had been short on employees for his main business. One might wonder why Niamh would be unhappy with such a thing but then again, if anyone who knew her saw her outfit...they would understand.
It was the day after the Kings murder, and everyone had hear about it. Still, people went out of their way to come visit the little cafe at the corner of one of the biggest shopping districts in the city. It was quite popular, even though most places were closed today. Tir couldn't afford to close it, though Niamh wished he just would have.
Donned in a incredibly short and very busty pink frilly dress, Niamh was working in none other than the hottest Maid Cafe in the whole city. Why they had one underwater, she would never know. Apparently the humans fetishes for maids and girls in skimpy outfits had worn off on the people of the sea.
Grumbling mentally, it wasn't really the amount of skin she was showing that bothered her, Niamh wasn't fond of this kind of labor, nor did she appreciate the fact that her hair had been curled and her body shoved into a bright pink dress. She thought Tir did it on purpose...he had to of the sneaky little bastard.
Another hour went by and Niamh moved into the water section, the dress shifting as she hit the water, along with her feet turning into a tail. It was a more Meru style of maid, one that most would find, much more revealing then the humans version. Tir came up to her upon seeing the frown on her face. "Oh do cheer up doll, the customers like to see a big smile!" He told her and put his hand on her shoulder. She gave him a smile, though it came across as a very scary one. He removed his hand quickly and chuckled. "Table 3 needs a sever. Just remember why your doing this!" He added and flipped his tail quickly as he left. Sighing, she put on a normal grin, though as she approached the table, she caught the sight of floating red hair. 'Oh, please don't be Vin.' she thought to herself, though it had to be a different person. He would be helping around the castle right....that would just be what she needed, someone who had met her to show up. ((I didn't get a message...=/. lol thought this would be funny))

"Thanks, I appreciate the compliment, It was my mothers pick. " He smiled as they drank tea quietly together thinking about what to do now that king was gone. A tear slipped out of her eye, brushing it away she smiled at the maid after a few moments, " Sorry I'm just really tiered, I think I will retire for the evening."~-----------~ Vin had been invited by a business associate to a lunch type social event. It was at a popular cafe- that hosted maids as a theme. It was strange to him but he shrugged it off- he would endure it for the time being. He was seated at table three as he was a few minutes early as he waited on the other man to show up. It was his favorite place to be. He had forgotten to have his hair tired back that morning because he was woken up too early by a commotion in the kitchen when some one went into a hysterical fit about the king being gone. Sighing he heard a maid come up, he had seen the frilly pink approaching from the side of his eye. He didn't look up he instead looked out the window next to him, hoping the maid wasn't here for him, he felt kinda embarrassed being in there.

"Of course Madam." The maid said, knowing fully well that she would have felt tired after a while. After all this tea had great calming properties. The maid bowed slightly before she left, walking down the halls with a relieved smile on her face. When Cearuil had said to keep an eye on her, she'd done her best to make sure she left no stone un turned in searching the girls person for anything suspicious. No poison, no weapons of any kind. She even cried at the thought of the King...she was pure. Wouldn't the princes be delighted to hear that? ~~~ Sleep didn't come for most of the castle, Daire awake having to speak with many of the members of the smaller courts about actions that needed to be in effect for the queen's reign. The queen was looking better but she still had that hollow paleness to her, her mind seeming to wander much like her body as she paced the throne room anxiously. Cearuil however lie awake that night, unable to call more actions now that his miliatary was sent to their gaurd posts and the palace gaurds were out patroling. So he settled for staying up, going to the training area they had to get his mind off of things. Every so often an official would come by asking his permission for some trivial thing, a maid would check in on him from time to time, and the gaurds that made their rounds would stop to watch him take out his frustrations on a target with any weapon he could get ahold of. It was a rather scary sight to see the young prince's fury but in a way it made his fighting smoother, quicker, more pecise and even somewhat graceful in a way that had a dangerous edge to it. He hardly seemed to notice everything else when it came down to practicing with a sword, even the strange nagging uncomfort that reminded him he'd yet to be in water for the last few hours. He stopped only once when he noticed a maid walking by with a sway in her step, the one that was suposed to be watching Maria. "The woman, Miss Bellsario, is she alright?" He called to the maid that halted in her tracks, turning to the prince with a bow. "Yes, my lord. She is sleeping soundly still after some of the herbs I gave her last night to help soothe her." Cearuil's eyes narrowed. The maid instantly knew what he meant. "Also yes...she checks out. Her family, her friends, every social record possible is clean. The only thing I find odd is...there are a few things missing, like her education outside of Atlantica. Aparently she's from the smaller towns nearest the capitol. There they don't keep much of a record on any of their people, let alone actually preserve the ones they have..." Cearuil gave her a wave of his hand in a shooing motion, having heard what he needed, he desired to be alone again. If everything checked out then she was in the clear/... for now. The city gates were closed off for today and possible the rest of the week. Anyone traveling ran the risk of inspection and possible harrassment from the military. She would be allowed to remain in the castle if she pleased but that didn't mean she would be free to do as she liked. Until he knew for sure she had no hand in this, he would not treat her with anymore lenience than he would a suspect.
"Crown Prince, we must have your signatures here-" "Crown Prince, the people have brought gifts for your father's burial-" "Crown Prince we must hold an investigation-" "Crown Prince you musn't forget your meeting with the Council today at noon-" Daire was overwhelmed with paperwork and chatter, men and women and even servants crowding him with things that needed to be done. Everywhere people hummed and buzzed, but somehow he tuned it out. He'd always had his father's gift of a calm exterior and speaking ability in times of despair or high pressure. He could handle these monarchs like they were small children, him the guiding hand that would lead them to their promised answers. "I will be sure to get it all done. But I'd prefer if I take care of things one at a time if they need my full focus to be done properly. Minister, place the paper on the desk, Archivald please let the people know the gifts will be collected in the dinning hall, Zachary please let the gaurds know we are working on putting together a suspect list, and Madam I realize that I must meet with the COuncil soon but as you can see my brother an I are not quite ready to do so.." He said and instantly everyone seemed to quiet. He smiled calmly at them and went back to work peacefully as they all went back to their jobs. He was glad to have the quiet but also quite depressed by it. How his heart ached for last night...for his mother and his brother and now his country. He missed his father, but he also remembered everything he taught him. He needed to be strong in this moment for everyone, he couldn't be Cearuil and lead an army but he could protect those around him by solving what he could.

Turning around the corner and facing the booth, Niamh's face scrunched up as she held in a few choice words. Smiling brightly as Tir caught her eyes, she looked down at Vin. Her eye was twitching slightly, knuckles white as she held the specially made pen and pad. "Welcome back Master, what can I get for you today?" She asked, forcing cheerfulness as she tried not to spit out the mandatory phrase. She was going to murder Tirm that was it, as soon as she got information, splat. In goes the knife....
Of course that wouldn't happen, he was a good asset to have, however she was going to give him a few choice words. She would rather not look like a college student paying for education by wearing revealing clothes and getting attention from men. Trying not to freak out and run away, she waited for his order, and for his laugh, or snarky comment, whatever was going to happen, she sure as hell didn't want it too. She was supposed to be getting info on the servants child, she was but, Vin didn't know that as of right now, did he. ((Hehe, I am soo cruel to my characters/))

"Weed brew, dark. I'm waiting on some one." was all he said in a calm yet tired sounding voice./ He didn't like not getting a nap before the large counsel meeting later. He was watching int he glass the maid, she looked familiar but if she was he didn't want to embarrass them by showing familiarity, he knew what it was like being a prisoner of war on time. "All is fair in love and war" He said just loud enough for her to hear him. It was a way of telling her he wouldn't tell or do anything, it was neutral.
~--------------------------~
When she woke up it was about mid morning, she put on some normal clothes that the maid had left for her and left her room, looking for some one she knew. She eventually stumbled out into the training yard and saw Cearuil Beating a target relentlessly looking frustrated and angry. "Prince Cearuil?" She called carefully, not wanting to startle him.

Cearuil had noticed someone had approached but he expected another maid or monarch asking him for something. That was till he heard the voice, that clear and very distinct voice he felt he could remember even in a crowded room now. He turned, looking to Maria. Flashes of what occured the night before rang through his mind and a small smile twitched at the corner of his lips. He'd never let anyone see him that way, in fact it almost embarrassed him that she had. "Hello Maria." He said, tossing the sowrd down to where the blade stuck between the slats in the stones before he bowed slightly to her. He straightened quickly and looked her over. She was wearing the clothes the servant had pulled from the market place venture Daire had suggested. Cearuil didn't much care for what anyone wore, just as long as long as it served its purpose at the moment.."So, I supose you slept well." He said , brushing the sweat from his brow.

Oh, thank the gods, stars, and moon above. Niamh couldn't help but think and heave a light sigh as she heard Vin's words. Writing down what he wanted, she was glad he wasn't going to say anything, at least for now. Going back to the kitchen area, she brewed and got the weed brew Vin had asked for. She wondered who he was meeting but figured that she would find out soon enough.
Making her way back, she set it on the table and smiled, feeling a bit more relaxed but still pretty well mortified. "Is there anything else I can get for you, sir?" She questioned, adding the honorific as was required by Tir and his stupid master servant fetish, at least that was what Niamh was busy calling it as she was peeved greatly at the green tailed Meru.

Vin nodded as she returned with his brew, he took a sip and nodded to her, "Here the man is..." A rather large Meru cam in the front door with a grin on his face," Great Coral, your already here? I'm late please excuse me,..I'll have a cup of Sweetened eels wash.Thank you sweety- you look so cute." He said as he looked over the girl, she looked new but he was never complaining. "what did you want to discuss Richard?" "The Queen's two sons, the princes, The council and I think they are to blame for this....We can't be too sure but we wanted to know if you had any suspicions of your own..." AS the last words came out of the man's mouth he regretted it- he had just committed high treason and he realized it a bit too late. Vin's eyes went a vivid color and narrowed, taking a swirl of water he put it down the man's throat causing blood to erupt from every pour of his body. He didn't really care who was watching him do this or where he was really, He was following the law, as well as his sworn oath tot he now dead king and his family. When the man was dead and sloshed in his seat- dead as a sun backed sea slug in Utah, he had a small satisfied smile as he sat back and took a sip of his brew- it was nice and strong. ~--------------------------~ Watching him carefully she nodded as she came a bit closer," I did my lord, It was hard at first but your maid kept me company, thank you sir. And you Prince Cearuil? How did you fair last night?" Her questions was one that didn't really need answering since it was obvious on his face, the bags under his eyes said it all. "Would you like to accompany me to breakfast?" She asked in a bit of a cheerier tone to try to raise his spirits hopefully.

Cearuil was glad to hear she had at least some peace of sleep. That she was able to notice that he didn't wish to speak much of the night before. "It would be a pleasure. but as I am now, perhaps not as pleasurable for you." He said in good humor at how he must look covered in sweat and his hair tousled from the exercise. "Since the dinning hall is currently occupied, there's the courtyard near here, I'll have the servant show you to there." He said and instantly a servant was at him call. "I'll meet you there soon. Feel free to have them fetch anything you care for." He said taking his leave. In his quarters he found the same silence he'd fought with earlier, the same darkness that hung over him when he was alone. Though as he rinsed away the grime from his work out he let his mind wander to all the possibilities at hand. It would be only logical that other's would assume he and Daire were apart of this..that or the Siren's. But would a nation be that bold after suffering such a shameful defeat. Ceruil pulled on his clothes, noticing how they seemed more formal. He then remembered the meeting he had with the High Council later today..And his fathers burial. He pulled on the outfit, numbing himself to the emotions. He would be show everyone he could be strong, that he could take all of this and find his father's killer. First of all he had to deal with Maria. He went to the courtyard where he told her to go, greeting her with a nod of ackwoledgement. The servant noticing his arrival rushed off to fetch the breakfast for them. "Sorry to keep you waiting." He said, taking a seat across from her. The space was quite open except from the veranda area where they sat, the other portion opening to a view of the water where fish and light glittered off of the coral and open cavern type appearance. "Its been a while since I came out here. Daire and I would have to do our studying here. The Countess swore it was better to see the open ocean when you learn, not that I ever really paid her much mind. I hated her studies.." He said gratefully accepting the tea a maid offered. After all everything coming from the kitchens was so heavily monitored if there was even so much of a sneeze the food would be thrown away. "Well today I should find this place in a new light. I never noticed how nice this place really was..."

Taking note of what the man wanted, Niamh went back to the kitchen to get it. Moments later she came back out to find the water tasting of blood and the man dead, Vin sipping on his brew. A few screams later and Niamh stopping Tir from getting his ass kicked, the blue and golden haired Meru was next to Vin, grabbing him by his red hair and pulling. He could lash out at her if he wanted, but he wouldn't be able to hurt her enough to scare her. She had been trained her whole life how to fight, she wasn't easy.
"You couldn't have taken him outside first!" She hissed in his ear and yanked him out of the seat. Everyone was stronger in the water. Looking him in the face, it was obvious that she was pissed. Tir was even more so, but he figured he would let the assassin take care of everything. He knew the red haired man was a meridian guard, so she wouldn't hurt him--it seemed like she knew him though. "Have a little respect for others." She muttered and let go of his hair. "Come outside with me now." She demanded, Tir had already called the paramedics to come and take the body. Niamh didn't care what the reason was, he could have gone about it better, of course that was the assassin in her talking.
