Anemone hadn’t been the most social after all, staying indoors, asking the servents to help her garden after all since getting up and down lately had become a chore. Her middle had grown a lot- more then perhaps just one child but little could be done now obviously, she was already heavy with a child. Her mother would give her advice on small things and help when she could but had a social circle to attend to, even a private wedding for her best friends’ daughter. She was happy they got out of her ass of a brother’s household. Convincing her husband to stone wall the man at everything, even if it took little pushing for such. Anemone has a sit down talk with her father, and they really bashed out how she obviously felt about darius, even with him in prison. She made it clear she was keeping the child and wether he liked it or not, she would marry Darius. He was mad a short bit but eventually agreed but made it obvious that he would make Darius earn his place. Anemone has already agreed to that stipulation knowing Darius wasn’t one to shy to hard labor, that and it was for him to get where e wanted to be, it wasn’t going to be easy after all. Her father was supportive and was working on many things a while, mostly ignoring the going on of the house but was always glad when Helena came to visit. Most others did well to keep rumors down about his daughter and her lack of social visits any where but she kept her friends- her true friends in the loops and on visits. Today she was having Lord Nasso, Ysold, Helena, and Lysandra over for tea in the garden since it was a cool enough day to actually be out, as well as something she found out that morning, with her sister’s help. She felt the baby kicking but when she felt two feet on her top right side another foot kicked from the bottom left- marking her twice as heavy, twins possibly. Her mother had been excited about it since honestly most women in the family only have girls but her sister had commented that it would be two girls, though Anemone felt it wasn’t so. “ No, it will be a boy and a girl.” She Stated firmly, both hand son her middle with a smile, she had been emotional but so happy to have them in Darius’s absence. “ okay, we should take bets with everyone.” Chimes in Amrena who was just being silly. Anemone rolled her eyes at her sister before glancing out the window into the garden where the staff was preparing, having a lounge brought out for her since a chair was difficult as it was to get in and out of. A maid came in to inform her that the nursery was finished, since they had taken both Amrena’s and Darius’s old toys and put them all in the new room, not far from hers- having redone a parlor so it could be so. They also made up another room in the villa, on Anemone’s request for Darius- for when he was back and had to earn his place. Though her father allowed it he was convinced that Darius would be at Lord Nasso’s house perhaps with his mother and sister a while before that happened. She gave her a nod before going into the garden and took a seat in the lounge and relaxed. She was tired honeslty but happy about kings still, she still had another 2-3 months to go before the children were even born but she was happy for all the support none the less. She drifted off to sleep after a short bit but expected to be woken up when her guests arrived since they all could see why she was tired...

Darius sat stupefied by his father's story, especially since it all made him feel so angry and hopeless. "You mean to tell me, that you have been in this cell for 12 years and you never once wrote—tried to escape—petitioned for your release?” Darius watched his father fold his arms, giving Darius’s question a look like they were stupid. “And say what in a letter? Plead what to the crowds? Beg for what mercy of Cretian courts? I am a prisoner in a foreign land that has fewer rights than a pauper. They would not grant me release and even if they did I would be returning home a criminal, broke and useless to my family. What life would that be for you three?” Darius rose from the bed, turning to pace some away from his father. “A life together, a life where mother wouldn’t have to crawl to her brother for money—a life where Lisy wouldn’t have to sell herself as a marriage prospect—A better life for the women in our family—“ Darius’s face fell, his anger getting the better of him and emotion choking him up. This was all too much to handle and he wasn’t doing well at keeping that trained politician’s control. How could he when he was literally exhausted and stretched thin emotionally and physically. “A life where you wouldn’t have been disowned?” Darius winced and looked back at his father, who was watching his son closely for a reaction it seemed. Darius stared at his father for long moment, silence falling between them. Darius felt something tighten in his chest, which forced him to look away as his eyes began to sting from tears. “How did you…?” Darius began to ask, but his voice faded as his throat began to tighten. “Just because I am in a foreign land doesn’t mean I lost contacts on the outside. I made deals to keep you three safe. It seems one or two didn’t keep their word else you wouldn’t be here.” He got to his feet, going over to his son to place a hand on his shoulder. “Darius, I’m so sorry. For everything you three went through. Especially you, my son…But no amount of change could have prevented this. Your uncle made sure of that when he sent those men to kill you and I…” Darius’s brows furrowed at the news, confused by that implication and shocked. No one had ever blamed his uncle for that attack. In fact, it was stated that his father had targeted those ‘foreign diplomats’ and their guards himself. It was a big implication , but not one that Darius could quite rule out…”Please forgive this old man for his decisions…just as I care for you unconditionally, no matter what name your uncle decides we may have. You are my son.” Darius looked to his father, before he nodded and allowed the man to pull him in for a hug. Darius felt a few tears slip his control in the hold, but he didn’t have long to enjoy it. Soon a voice broke over the emotional silence that was as snide as it was cold. “What a touching moment between a failure father and his foolish son…” Darius whirled around and saw Lykos standing at the bars with a few guards, looking smug as ever. Darius glared at the man and moved to the bars, watching LYkos’s smile grow. “Hello Darius…I’m here for a chat—think of it as your last words…” ~~~ WHen the group arrived, they were told to wait while the maids went to let ANemone know they were here. Eventually, they were allowed into the garden, Helena leading the charge of adults. She ran over to Anemone but carefully hugged her as to be careful of the baby. "Hey Anemone! Hi baby!" She said, plating a quick kiss on her tummy before she went to play with one of the flowers that caught her attention. Lysandra gave Anemone a nod in greeting before she turned her attention to fussing over Cyrus as he looked a bit shaky on his feet. He gave a stubborn grumble at her worrying hands on him before he took a seat across from Anemone and shoved the cane to the side as if he detested the thing. He offered Anemone a casually teasing smile when settled. "Hello, Anemone. Look at you. Still as beautiful as ever." Ysold stepped forward and she gave Anemone a soft hug. "It's good to see you, my friend. I trust you are well? No unforseen injury, illness, or strange pains?" She asked since she did mother her friend group despite herself.

She was rubbing her eyes as Helena pounced on her and gave her middle a light kiss to greet the babies. She smiled and allowed t since she adored the child. Next we’re lysy and Cyrus, he looked worse for wear but getting better. At his compliment, She grinned since she knew Cyrus was a close friend but her mind was always on Darius. She returned the soft hug from Ysold and gave her a smile. “ I am good, simply tired today is all.” She Stated easily before offering them all seats and tea. She took a breath and grinned after a moment since it was hard to not smile at this. “ I am happy you all could come out today. I however wanted to let you know, that I have gotten my father to accept darius into my own family, given he has to build himself back up into the trading- not that Darius will object to owning a fleet of ships.” She giggled since they all knew Darius liked the sea and boats, he couldn’t have picked a better family since her father owned most of the ones in the bay- or rights in their trades. “ As well as that I believe I will be having twins.” She Stated with a blush since her mother had teased her before about it. Anemone knew these were her social circle and they all knew and loved Darius so she was very open and honest with them all, not even that her father had been backing Cyrus a lot more often in the courts, so things were getting done.

Lysandra looked the most excited about the news that Darius was being taken into Anemone's family. Especially the news about her brother getting to work with ships. She knew that would mean the world to him. "Praise Hera..." She whispered under her breath, getting a small smile from Cyrus. "Good. It would have been awkward if he had to take my name." He joked before grabbing a cookie from the table and went to munching on it while Anemone continued. Ysold was in the process of catching Helena's hand as she ran by when Anemone dropped the other bit of news on them. Shock flooded Ysold, but she was quick to react with a girlish giggle of delight. "Babies! Oh my, Anemone congrats!" She said and Helena looked just as excited as the others. "Two babies! I can have two little babies to play with!" She clapped and jumped up and down while Lysandra smiled softly. "That would certainly be alot. What makes you so sure?" Cyrus tilted his head some and his brows furrowed. "Yeah, you look bigger but not like huge--OW!" He grumbled afterwards when Lysandra smacked his arm. "You don't tell a pregnant woman she's huge!" Lysandra snapped under her breath and Cyrus rolled his eyes. "I said she WASN'T! Besides, I'm new to all this stuff. Though I know Darius would be--is excited wherever they've got him." He said, his smile fading some as he felt partially guilty about his friend ending up in prison because of him. EVen if Ysold said it wasn't his fault, he knew that wasn't entirely true. He crossed Lykos and Andromeda and thought he could trust them. That was what got Darius locked away, short of all their plotting. ~~~ Darius stood at the bars, watching Lykos under an intense gaze as the man stayed a safe distance from the bars. Perhaps he knew that Darius wanted to smash his face into the cement repeatedly...? Darius felt his father's eyes on him, but ignored the man in favor of Lykos. "DOn't look so cross, boy. It's only business, a game you failed to see the profit in. I offered you a way out and you spat at my offer." Lykos said in a reprimanding tone like a parent scolding a child for a trivial matter. The guards flanking him stayed close and didn't even seem to care or listen to what Lykos had to say, obviously biased or well paid off. Darius's eyes narrowed as he stood perfectly still, his hands balled to fists at his sides. "I won't lower myself to meet your expectations." Darius saw a twitch in Lykos's cocky mask and knew it bugged the man that Darius wasn't groveling to him. It brought Darius what little joy he could have at all this. "Still prideful after months at sea, I see. Well you'll be begging for my audience when I let you sit in here for...let's say another...month? Maybe that will let my victory sink into that thick roman skull." He said and Darius gave the man a sneer. "Hardly. Do what you want Lykos. The courts will find me innocent. You have no proof. Only the word of a paid off girl and your dead sister." That seemed to set Lykos off. He stalked to the bars and grabbed Darius by his shirt rather forcefully. "Maybe I should make it a year? Or ten? If I want, you can rot away here into nothing, just like your father. Your mother and sister will be long gone before you're out....Or I can be sure of it with everyone else you love...How long do you think it will take your mousy whore to forget you? Perhaps when she grows tired of raising your bastard all alone--" Before he could finish, Darius latched onto him and drug him into the bars, slamming Lykos full force into the steel. He went to try and punch the already bleeding and disoriented man, but his father latched onto him and dragged him back. "Darius leave it. He's just trying to rile you up!" He shouted, but Darius was in a bit of a frenzy, not expecting Lykos to know about Anemone or his child. The guards must have told him or perhaps word had gotten out. Either way, how dare that spineless coward threaten his fiance and family or his child. When Lykos looked down at him, his face bloodied from an obviously broken nose, he gave a roar of anger. "Deal with the heathen." He hissed and the guards went into the cell. Darius's father tried to keep them off him, but the guards quickly moved him out of the way and grabbed the frothing with range Darius. Before he could go to break free to go after Lykos, a guards fist connected wth his temple then his jaw, dropping Darius to the ground. A swift kick came to his side and another to his back, making him shout in pain as he felt deep bruises forming. Darius's vision spotted and he was having troble staying lucid as the world reeled around him. Before more beatings came, a voice that sounded female shouted over the room with a commanding "enough!". The click of fine shoes on stone were the last things he heard before things went dark.

At the joke about him taking up Cyrus’s family name she gave a smirk since she knew Darius would take either just to stay with her. She gave a nod to Ysold’s words since she knew it. At Helena’s cute words she nodded. “ yep, not one but two babies to play with.” She said smoothly since she knew Helena was learning a lot so far. At Lysandras words she nodded but thought about it a Moment, hearing Cyrus’s words and blushed. She completely ignored the Darius comment since she didn’t feel like talking about that right now. “ well, one was kicking here.” She said pointing before pointing to another side,” so I had two different sets of feet poking out at one point. There for two babies. And I’m not offended by the big jokes. I am much bigger then usual.” She commented on the end since it was true. “And I wrote to Darius before he left so he knows, we will all be here waiting for him when he gets back. And the nursery of finally finished. So excited for them to come into the world. I want to hold them.” She went on with her thoughts as she she drank her tea.

Darius woke to the sound of indistinct chatter with a splitting headache and his body in the throws of pain. He knew he had gotten his ass handed to him, but it was hardly a fair fight when he was weak and exhausted. Darius gave a groan and the talking ceased to the sound of a woman giggling. "I think our fallen gladiator is ready to return to us." A female voice mused and the male voice, distinctly his father's, gave a huff. "Indeed. Excuse me, my lady." Darius heard the bed creak as his father rose and the sound of his bare feet on the stone. Darius's eyes opened as pain shot through him at his father trying to drag him up. "Uff, come on boy! I'm old and I can't lift you on my own." He grumbled through gritted teeth as he struggled to get Darius to his feet. Darius winced and spat out a few curses under his breath, knowing the guards hard possibly bruised a rib or broken something in his side. He caught the look his father shot him as he shushed him. "Darius, watch your tongue. We have company." Darius's brows furrowed before he looked ahead of him at the figure on the outside of the bars. Perched in a chair with a cushion unceremoniously placed in the seat was a rather beautiful young woman. Her skin was a soft olive tone, her hair as black as ebony, and her eyes the color of copper. While her features were accentuated by powders at dusky coal accentuating her eyes, she was obviously Roman nobility, just by the way she carried herself and her choice of dress, a soft looking rich purple wrap. But he was more distracted by how her face reminded him of someone and that shit eating grin she wore was so like Cyrus he had a moment of disbelief. Before he could ask who she was, his father shoved his head down in a bow, making Darius grumble in confusion. "Forgive his manners Lady Euristes." SHe gave a chuckle, though her eyes showed some surprise as Darius stared at her like she was a stranger. "Oh It's quite alright Iros... isn't this rich...you don't remember me do you?" Darius raised a brow at her, but suddenly the similarities to Cyrus and the look she gave him as she folded her arms made it all click. "Corinna?" Darius watched her eyes light in humor before she gave a nod. "Took you long enough. Now, sit. You look positively dreadful..." Darius sat down awkwardly next to his father, staring at Corinna with slight disbelief. Of all the people he expected to find in a Cretian prison, the guard couldn't beat him hard enough to ever believe it would be Cyrus's older sister, Corinna. Perhaps he was a moron, as he should have recognized her. He was once almost married to the girl. She pulled a cloth from her sleeve and gestured to his father. The man passed her a cup of water that she quickly doused the rag with and handed it to Darius. He took the hint and cleaned off his face. He wasn't surprised to find the blood there or grime from where his face had hit the floor. "That was stupid to take on the guards or harm a noble. THat won't look good in a tribunal, even if Lykos is scum." Corinna said but gave a small huff after she scolded him. "Not that I blame you. I heard from your father he threatened your child." Darius looked a bit uneasy to hear it out loud and glanced at his father when he heard the rustle of paper. "He's still stupid. Of all the people, he knocked up the Terebourne girl, the eldest. Darius, I raised you better than that." His father growled as shock fell upon Corinna's face. "Anemone?! That wallflower? The one we used to make fun of--well I used to. Of all the women, I would have expected those tramps Arina, Marcella, Ieodona--" "Enough! I would never do that to Anemone and it's not what you think. I didn't--WE didn't just do things and--it was a surprise, yes, but I'm happy." He said, forcefully, making the other two sit in silence a moment though for different reasons. His father looked angry, while Corinna looked to be mulling something over. "Happy? What part of this makes any of it happy? You are unmarried, having a child with a woman of status when you have no title. Do you know how much pain you have no doubt caused Memnon, a dear family friend might I add? You are lucky he didn't have you killed or her disowned if he was a lesser man!" Darius listened to his father scold him, but Darius only glared back at him. Iros's eyes narrowed, giving Darius a shake of his head. "And now you've done something stupid to wind yourself up here while she's alone with a child. Darius, do you have any idea the seriousness if your enemies find out--" "Don't you think I've learned that? Don't you think I suffer thinking she's there--without me now? I love her." He looked to Corinna when he heard her gasp--was that pain in her eyes? She quickly covered it up and gave Darius a half smirk. "Wow...Love is it? I remember a time when you told me that didn't exist. Good for you." She said sarcastically, but before Darius could answer his father spoke up. "If love fixed our mistakes the world would be a better place." Darius rose, looking furious at his father's words. "Our child isn't a mistake--" "Both of you, shut up! Iros. Go cool down over there. Darius, you and I need to speak." Corinna barked and the men separated begrudgingly. Darius took a few calming breaths before looking to Corinna. "WHat could we have to discuss?" Darius asked, making COrinna look a bit annoyed with him. "As much as I dislike you...I owe you an audience after what you did for my brother." She stated softly, making Darius look a bit confused. "How did you--?" He tried to ask but she pulled a letter from her blouse, one that held a seal from the Siren's Call, Ysold's mark. This was the friend Ysold told him to trust...but why? ~~~ The group looked happy for Anemone, but there was an awkward silence at the mention of Darius coming back. None were holding their breath since it was a very delicate situation that none knew how it would turn out. Speaking of which though. Ysold pulled a letter from her dress and offered it to Anemone. "I almost forgot. Please give this to your father. It's important for Darius's case." She said before Lysandra looked a bit offended at not being told what was in that letter. She almost spoke up but Cyrus stopped her by talking over her. "So Anemone, two babies? That's amazing. To be honest I never knew people could have more than one. It's cool." He said and Lysandra realized there must have been something they shouldn't discuss there. She swallowed hard before she gave Anemone a smile. "We need to have a new mother celebration for you and a blessing from Hera. It's important for the virtue of the gods and some fun for you!" She said cheerfully, though she did spare a look at Ysold that said the topic wasn't over. Ysold ignored the look and only smiled at the mention of a party. "Oh I do love parties. I'm quite good with them and I have the cutest gifts in mind." She said with a rather girlish laugh.

She glanced back at Ysold with the letter and nodded before taking it, but not speaking since if it were for her father it wasn’t her place to read it unless he gave her permission. Her attention went to Cyrus when he asked about babies which made her laugh. “ Oh, they can have up to three I’ve heard.” She said as she sipped her tea with a smile, a hand on her middle since one was shifting around a bit. “We can I supposed, one was enough honeslty....” she said softly before she started crying, it was a little out of the blue but she gave a sniffle and attempted to wipe the tears away. “ I can’t thank all of you enough for staying and helping me through all of this. I’ve put so much stress on my family and- and I’m quite frankly worried sick over Darius.” She stuttered our at the end before putting her face in her hands and crying a moment. She was feeling over whelmed at the moment but knew she had to step up to the plate and be who she needed to be- she had gotten herself into this so she had to deal with it, even if her father was a bit upset out the man she chose to be her husband- not to mention their currently illegitimate children. She knew what her father was feeling, and how stressful it must be for him to handle this at home and her, and the staff. It wasn’t fun, she knew but there was little to be done now. She hadn’t intended to get emotional but lately she just was.

Darius sat at the bars across from Corinna, reading the letter from Ysold she had received. It was Ysold's handwriting and it was her logic that worked out that Corinna was the best contact to reach out to. It was a mystery how she remained close enough to Corinna to ask favors of her, but Darius figured he would learn the reason soon. Ysold seemed to think Corinna was the one that could get him home. He handed the letter back to her, catching the odd look in her eyes as she placed the letter in her bodice. "So you know Lykos set Cyrus and I up?" She nodded, her eyes not leaving his. "I was told what was imperative by Ysold. I do wish she had been a bit more liberal with telling me the bigger picture." Darius wasn't sure why Corinna seemed annoyed at not knowing about Anemone or his child. What did she expect after everything that happened between them? They were friends that agreed to help each other, her title would save him family and his higher noble bloodline would satisfy her father's wish for the advancement of their family and heirs. But his unfortunate god patron assignment and his separation from his family led to their deal falling through and her being sent to marry a foreign merchant. How was he to prevent or change that? He didn't love her, even if they had fun while they were together...He felt bad that things worked out the way they did, but he wouldn't trade what he had with Anemone for anything. "Things changed...I couldn't have predicted things would have ended up this way for us." Corinna scoffed at his half-assed answer, obviously not caring about fate and prediction. It didn't make any of this right. "Obviously it all changed. I was sold off to the highest bidder in a foreign land like some common whore. You went with the next high priced bride and ensured your marriage to her. It's all very different from the life we had planned." She snipped, making Darius's anger rise but he did well to contain it. He sat there a moment, glaring at her, but he felt pain seeping into his chest. No one seemed to believe him when he said he loved Anemone...Did they really think that he would ever hurt her like that? That he would use someone like that? What kind of monster did they think he was? "You really think I would do that to her?" He muttered though the softness of his voice gave away that he was hurt. Corinna frowned, her eyes averting from his at the sudden change in his mood. She knew she wasn't being fair... "I wouldn't be here if I did. But you must understand why I have reservations about helping you...You have no idea what I went through here in Crete, what it took to get me here." Darius saw she was being vulnerable and he couldn't let her be alone in that. He needed her help, even if she wanted soemthing more that he couldn't give her. "I'm sorry." His sudden apology made Corinna visibly tense, that strange look in her eyes giving way to a pain that was underneath her strong mask. Did...did Corinna have feelings for him? "I know things didn't work out the way we planned...but I need your help, Corinna. Hate me if you must for everything. But please don't take me away from Anemone and our child...I can't let her be alone." Corinna looked up at him and then gave him a small nod. "Of course I'll help, but I need you to tell me what this business with Lykos is and how you're involved. I may be able to help you completely with a well-placed assistance overseas from the Terebourne man and one of my agents. We need to bring him down and his allies in Athens...he will pay from screwing with my brother..." She said before Darius rose his brow at the mention of agents. "Agents?" He asked and she gave a smirk. "You really think I've survived in my station as a widow without teeth? I run a network of women who have mastered more than the art of mystery and womenly charm. They kill better than they kiss....Ask Andromeda." ~~~ When Anemone began to breakdown, the group jumped into what action they could. Ysold went to her side and hugged her, Lysandra placed a hand on her shoulder and Cyrus took her hand. "Anemone, we're all here for you. As is your family. The stress will pass and you will be happy." Ysold said and Lysandra gave her a small nod. "You have us as your family if you ever need anything." She added and Cyrus squeezed her hand. He was mulling over what he should tell her about the plan he discussed with Ysold. He decided it was the best to connect with her and ease some of this stress. "We will get him back. We have something in the works that will have him home when the time is right. But for now, let us worry and try to enjoy your children and everything the gods have given us. Whatever you need, just ask it and we will provide it." He said before giving her a soft smile to try and comfort her.

With all the comforting words she couldn’t helpt he sad smile as she attempted to calm down more but failed since it was just a rush of emotion. After a few moments she got herself under control better and gave a firm nod. “ Of course.” She said attempting to keep her tone even however it wasn’t a moment when everyone gave her a moment of space did her father come out into the garden, looking tired as was his usual of late. He nodded to the ladies and shook Cyrus’s hand before glancing at his daughter. She looked at him with a soft smile, he knew she only held for him and he smiled back softly. He knew she hadn’t meant to harm the family and just wanted to find some one she could love, for all the good it seemed to do but she was determined. He had to admit gAt about his daughtr, so like her mother. Anemone handed him the letter, which seemed to confuse him but he took t before glancing down at it and seeing it was from Ysold. He put it away in his vest with a nod before taking a seat by his daughter with a sigh. “Well, I heard from your mother that it’s twins. I’ve asked the stable hand to commission another cradle. Seems we need one more.” He joked lightly getting a laugh from his daughter. She sat up a bit and hugged her father tightly, letting his ease her worry, hopefully. He loved his children and knew he would love their children but he just worried about this court case with the father...after a short bit he relaxed or seemed to before he glanced at Cyrus. “ would either of you accompany me to my office to speak on the letter?” He asked glancing over to Ysold- not knowing which he was going to need to speak to over it but this was his lunch break so why not now while he had time.

Darius and Iros sat in silence, Darius taking the floor near the cell door and his father on the bed. They had been silent for hours judging by the light from there tiny window began to recede. Darius hadn't been in a standoff like this with his father before, mostly because as a child he worshipped the ground the man walked on. Now, he could barely believe he was alive, let alone that he would scold him for chasing some happiness that he rightly deserved after all the bullshit he dealt with. The idea that he was wrong for pursuing Anemone woke the old feelings he had on the matter, back when he first met her, and a certain guilt rose in him that he resented. He didn't regret his time with her...but he caused her a new level of stress and pain. He couldn't rightly forgive himself for that, regardless if he really caused this or not. He looked at his father across the room when he heard the old man sigh, his irritation drawing him to speak before his mind could play catch up. "An assassin master...You knew about Corinna?" His father was silent a moment before the man gave another, heavier sigh. "Yes. She was the only familiar face that saved my hide in this place on more occasions than I could possibly repay. She's the only reason I survived my trial." Darius gave a narrow of his eyes at his father, hardly liking that answer. "Corinna got a letter to Anemone's father. Couldn't you have sent us one? Just to let mother at least know you weren't dead." "And tell her what? That I'm going to be rotting in a prison for the rest of time? I wanted to give you all the ability to forget me, to let you move on." Darius knew this wasn't the real reason for his anger, but this stupid logic of his graying father's mind just upset him further. THey all knew he couldn't handle his temper well, not when he felt betrayed on wounded by someone. "THat worked so well, didn't it? Were you planning on Uncle taking over the family estates and throwing us out, or was that happy collateral to help really drive home that our family was over?" "Darius! That isn't fair and you will not place that blame on me. I couldn't predict your uncle would do that to you or your mother and sister. To say the least, it clued me into the fact the bastard had some hand in getting me sent here." Darius shut his mouth, but looked resistant still. His father watched him glare at him only a moment longer before he shook his head. "Darius, I'm not your enemy. I want to help. But all we can do is trust Corinna for now. She says you being here was a mistake, that you were not the intended target for the scandal. That should be enough to know you have a chance to not face a death penalty--" Darius swallowed hard and got to his feet. "I don't want to just settle for living in a cell like you did! I want out of here, regardless of my legalities!" He snapped, getting an unwavering look from his father. "And Athens will arrest you if you return. The Terebourne's cannot prevent that with incurring the wrath of the emporer for meddling in foreign affairs. That's if Lord Terebourne even let's you near his daughter or grandchildren. WOuld you even want them involved in another scandal as you're dragged off for execution for escaping the law?" Darius deflated, his eyes going to the floor as his father hit home just how helpless he was to all this. "Darius, we can just wait for the chips to fall into place. Corinna has sent word to the Tereborne's for help...If successful, we may see an end to this yet." He said but Darius hardly felt things were settled. ~~~ When her father asked to speak to either of them, Cyrus was the first to make an effort to stand. "I will go. Besides, Helena will cry if Ysold is gone too long." He got to his feet with some effort, not that he let it show or anyone help him. Cyrus was too stubborn to allow Lysandra to fret or Ysold to scold him in front of a man he respected. He followed Memnon to his office, knowing where he could trust they weren't being listened to. "I'm sure the letter outlined to details of our plight a bit better. Though I do apologize for dragging you into this while you have quite a bit stacked on your shoulders.." Cyrus said before motioning to the letter on the desk. "But I agree with Corinna believing you are the one to contact for assistance in sniffing out the rat within the council, as you were the intended victim of this crime." He said, summarizing what was in the letter. Corinna introduced herself and her intel, clarifying her girls had been paid to frame Memnon in the murder of Andromeda. The plan had been to cause dissent and doubt within the council as it was going to be a shock and argument that a trusted member would do something like that. Then again, a similar scheme had sent Iros to prison and now his son. The plan changed however when the woman assigned to the job turned coat with Lykos and a mysterious third party. Needless to say the woman would be dealt with, but they needed more evidence of that third party and Lykos's involvement to really secure the Tereborne's safety and to convince a jury of foreigners/the emporer of rome to let Iros and Darius even think about returning home. "It's dangerous information. But I made a promise to do what I can to protect my allies. I think we can weed out who was working with Lykos, though I'm not sure the best course of action. It has to be precise and accurate to avoid arguement and chaos within the council, since we can guess the man or woman has some politcal gain in all this. Any doubt on the traitor will just allow them to slip away." He said since he was sure there had to be some evidence on the traitor or around him that liked to Lykos.

Taking a seat at his desk he took a deep breath and scanned through the letter. When Cyrus spoke he nodded since the two had been working together a lot more lately. "I have a list of names I spoke with from that list class party, many months ago. Including Lykos." He said sounding tired but confident. He stood and dug through a box that was dated for that month, producing a scroll. He rolled it out to show his ordered list to Cyrus, with names and the topics each had addressed. He was a very organized man, and he lived having written reminders. " take this and do what you need. I will do all I can, more for my Daughter then any one honestly..." ...he said truthful, since between the two of them, he was out to protect his family first and foremost.

Cyrus wasn’t all that surprised Memnon had records on all his conversations and interactions with the council members. Cyrus was more just uneasy at how many names they had. There was going to be a major investigation then...with only 4 people to really do much digging. He bowed his head some in thanks before he gave Memnon a nod. He understood his reasons for helping. Cyrus’s were similar. “I understand. My best friend is my focus in all this. I want to see things made right. No matter the outcome.” He said since he owed Memnon and Darius his life at this point. Darius kept him out of jail and Memnon kept his family name from plummeting after this mess with Andromeda. “I can be stupid...or let’s say overly confident. I trusted Lykos and thought I could use his information and influence to improve things here for the working class. Instead I get accused of murder. Whoever is working with him must be reckless or have the power he needs that solidifies them staying alive in this deal. My bets are the senior members or the higher houses. We know from experience that those in opposition to you gain the most benefit from seeing scandal emerge in house Terebourne. Even if I can’t prove it, I think Darius’s uncle has some part in this. I just don’t see why he would tarnish the Vasiliou name though...I mean their prospects and reputation is now in the dirt after accusations now of two of their members becoming enraged murderers. My father even wanted to back out of my marriage to Lysandra. I didn’t let him of course...and my father can’t be left out of suspicion. He signed that infernal agreement to the Emporer to try and usurp the oppositions vote.” He said before tapping the cane lightly on the floor. “Well, speculation is all well and good. I suppose something can be gleaned from the event the Vasiliou are having to celebrate the upcoming councilor elections. Of course, my father wants me in attendance even if I can’t do a blasted waltz to save my life...but I do agree it is a chance to sniff out potential discent and back dealings since everyone in the council and their families will be in attendance.” He said, mostly thinking aloud with the man so he could know where he was at or planning. He was sure he would enjoy being involved anyways.

He nodded since he knew Cyrus owed his friend much, even if Memnon still wasnt exactly pleased that the man in question got his daughter heavy with child then got put into jail. Well twins as he knew but it was a good thing but it hurt to know she had only her family and friends to support her, the father should be here, even if it were currently impossible. He listened to Cyrus's ideas and nodded. "I know for a fact my daughter Amerna would love to assist in this, she stated as much, and um sure my wife would as well, Kalista is a friend after all and she is all atwitter about Anemone and Darius having children, even with the negativity." He sighed. "I can not tell my family no because we all care for Anemone and wish to help in our own ways. So be it funds or influences we, of house Terebourne, stand ready to help. I just hope it's enough." He stated however there was a knock on his door. " enter." He called, and in came Amrena who was grinning ear to ear. "Father, I want to help." She stated obstinately, which wouldn't ever be tolerated in public but Memnon looked humored. "I know, I will allow it. But be safe." He said with a concerned tone since loosing his family would hurt the man beyond words.

Cyrus smiled a bit at Memnon, even if it held an understanding for the man’s position. This was a troublesome place for him and his daughter, who was now basically unmarriable and the oldest, therefore the inheritor. He knew Darius would have never left her of his own will or would have done the heinous things that Lykos accused him of, so that left them to try and help. The offer of Amrena and his wife’s support made Cyrus blink some in surprise. He hadn’t expected that, but would definitely allow it. Women were able to navigate social situations better and could get by more unseen than he could these days. Amrena, Lady Tereborne and Lady Vasiliou would be great allies to have in this. When Amrena came in, he gave her a nod of greeting a welcoming smile. “I’m glad to have your help Amrena. Honestly, I couldn’t do this without you.” He said, before he then looked to Memnon. “This is where we start. From there, we out the traitor and use the money to repair this bridge and get Darius back. I’m sure Crete wouldn’t challenge you as a wounded party if it turns out Lykos and this other councilman were the real instigators. That’s my plan at least.” He then gave the two a small bow. “I will keep Amrena in my protection and I’ll be sure nothing happens to her. I’m sure Lady Vasiliou means to do the same. Lysandra has already spoken to her and of course the woman is willing to help her son and Anemone.” He said since Lady Vasiliou has noticeably turned her venting and coping with Darius into fawning over Anemone and the new baby to be. She had already began dragging up old toys and things of Darius’s and Lysandra’s to share, as Lysandra had the things ready to give to Anemone. But she felt they would need to wait till the wound wasn’t as fresh...Cyrus gave a small bend of a bow, as it was all he could manage with his current health. “I will meet with you tomorrow then at the Vasiliou home. Lysandra and I will do our best to help support your family and to get to the bottom of this. Till tomorrow.” He said as he left to gather Lysandra for the afternoon. ~~~ Cyrus and Lysandra were one of the first to arrive at the Vasiliou home as Lysandra was one of the family. It was obvious by how Cyrus gave Darius’s uncle annoyed looks behind his back that he didn’t enjoy the boisterous man. As Darius once put it, the man could make Zeus feel inferior with his boasting. But Cyrus smiled and joked, keeping the man drinking and occupied while Lysandra kept an eye out for the Tereborne. Even Lady Kallista was working the crowd, keeping attention and spirits flowing towards the party and not the acts of anyone trying to go unnoticed. Lysandra however was uneasy, Lykos had sent an emissary to stand in his place as he had gone back to Crete for Darius trial, or so the obviously wealth beurocrat kept boasting. It made Lysandra pale some, but she tried to remain focused and willing to help Amrena search for evidence. She was the only one that knew the house by heart that wouldn’t be missed. Most people forgot she was there because of how quiet she was and because she was a woman.

Arena and her mother got all kinds of dressed up for this since it was only for the best and it was her best friends, that invited. Heading in, she went herself and instructed Amrena to go to the side entrance in the hall after entering to wait for Lysandra. Her mother was announced and to fawn with Kalista as she usualy would but she did smile and hug Lysandra,"in the hall, she waits." She said kissing her cheek with a smile to Cyrus in greeting. She was a pro at these things leave it to her, she had coached her daughter in things this evening and it was, as well as how to use her hair picks as tools.
