Panting he stopped and looked at the ground, trying to figure out what was next. This was war- he had come to terms with this however it was hard on him. With his sister on his mind it weighed heavily since she was at home alone here in this war. ' Was she alright? Would anyone go there to look for her? Would they dare hurt her? Could I make it there in time if they did?' He thought to himself before he let out a sigh and wiped the blood from his blade. His gun having ran out of bullets long ago- no clips to even be salvaged it seemed. He hadn't eaten in two days and was exhausted but he knew there was no stopping. He had made a promise- he would fulfill this duty since his word was his bond. He figured he was one of very few left alive- the rest of the army crushed by the bombing and clearing massacres. He had to get this taken care of before his sister suffered... Taking a resolute breath Domonic he stood, his knee shaking slightly with the effort but he ignored it as he moved around the wall he was behind and into a small alley way making his way Eastward towards the last known head quarters location. Traveling along the broken walls and debris, taking care to step over the dead more out of respect then disgust, the smell of the chared bodies enough as he passed he hardly wanted the smell following him. After a short bit he stopped again to take a short break, getting a drink from a sink tap there in an empty house since he needed something to keep him going honestly. His promise was enough to keep him walking but the thought of his sister in trouble was only pushing him to take that extra step in this battle to hopefully survive long enough to see it at an end. On the move again he eventually made it to the head quarters. The sky was starting to lighten up- meaning night would soon end- his cover was going to start disappearing.Glancing over the small crumbled wall that had been crushed, what he found made his brow furrow. The place was aflame and there were screams from inside- however outside was an entire platoon and perhaps a mech or two- meaning much more then he could handle alone. Cursing under his breath he was forced to wait, all the while hearing the sounds of the crackling wood from the fires he waited till he heard a hiss. The sound of a mech opening its hatch meaning they were getting out for one reason or another. Glancing over the wall, barely seeing however he did see what he needed -A chance. Moving quickly, feeling a burst of adrenaline in his body at this chance to change the tide momentarily. He moved, the man had a back to him as he was relieving himself by a building no doubt empty with the fighting. A quick hand over his mouth and the sword through his middle- it was a painless death- for a few seconds at least before he slumped down. Searching the body he got his gun and ammo clips, knowing he was going to need them now more then ever. Hopping into the mech- the door closed as he moved the controls over to where it had been before before it started firing suddenly and slaughtered the men there on ground- burning them to a cinder- throwing explosives at the other mech in the area Domonic had suddenly thrown into chaos. After a small silence when time seemed to stand still just him and the fire there in that clearing he saw a few figures coming from the burning building in front of him. He automatically moved the guns to the characters however hew as relieved inside- since he knew who it was. It was their leader, who was fighting her own father in this- knowing she was alive was great. It honestly felt like he felt a heavy weight leave his shoulders as he had come this far just to get to her. He opened the door and jumped out. His knee buckled however as he landed making it seem like he was bowing though he didn't mind. She was a strong woman who deserved his respect since they had been friends a while now. “Your late.” She said in a stern tone that was authoritative however he smiled at her softly. “Better late then never.” His tone was playful as he stood and went forward- knowing they had another plan to enact before this war was completely over- this was the part that mattered to him in all honestly... ---------------- “The rest is history- come on now Marie you know this story- I've told it to you a thousand times already!” Domonic stated as he gave his little sister a small smile as she simply wanted him around longer. He knew this, but he had a weak spot for his family. “I was hoping you would explain to me again why you let a building fall on you instead of the her.” She said almost in a zealous tone making him frown a little. Maria was bitter about this war as many were but she put her thoughts in the wrong places. “You would speak ill of our leader who liberated us from her tyrannical father?” He asked in a firm tone trying to get her to see where he was coming from here. He still thought of her as a child since she often acted like it. He also didn't expect her to understand how much he loved this woman she was speaking ill of unknowingly. He was close to the leader as his new military rank reflected. He had been a lowly soldier who showed vast courage and valor in his service was and rewarded for such in a time of war. He went from a communications officer to a Brigadier General in the air force in a single night. He was one of the youngest in history but it wasn't unheard of. There were few above him in the military under his friends' rule and he liked it that way- so if things went wrong it wasn't necessarily his fault, also he had some free time to see his sister. “Regardless- you could have died Domonic. Would you have let me stay here in this hell alone?” She asked him pulling a card she knew would trigger guilt in her elder brother. He did pause but gave her a soft smile,” I had promised to come home did I not? When have I ever broken a promise, Maria?” He asked her knowing it had been a hard promise to keep but he did it- almost dying in the process of which. Things had changed a lot since he had been placed on some leave time since he was recovering from a massive surgery of having most of his body replaced with prosthetic and metal since his own bones were crushed and his nerves severed. He would have been a dead man had it not been for the advancements in medicine and technology. Still a bit uncomfortable in his own skin- well some of his skin- the rest was graphed, he sighed as he gave his sisters face a light touch with the metal hand of his. “I know you are still upset about this change but can't you be grateful I'm alive?” He asked her in a soft tone knowing it would get to his sister even if she could be a little self centered and unemotional occasionally. Her brows furrowed a bit as she glanced over at him and was silent for a few seconds taking her few moments to think fully before she opened her mouth. “I guess your right, I'm sorry Brother.” She said before giving him a small shy like smile and a small side hug. Earning her a smile she felt a bit better about hassling her brother about his guilt there. Marie's room mate had been very helpful with this development in this war even letting her brother stay with them. She was grateful however she knew it was more then just being polite but she honestly chose to ignore that aspect of this. The Apartment was small but she shared a room with her friend for the time being since her brother was in her room- not having a home to go back to since he primarily lived in the barracks with he rest of his troops. He had been on medical leave now to get used to his body for about seven months now and she knew he wanted nothing more then to go back to the bastards that did that to him. It made Marie mad to think this but knew her brother was loyal to his dream of protecting this nation. Sometimes she wished he wasn't as honest as he was, that he could be a bit more rational with things not simply turning a blind eye to keep the peace. Domonic was already planning on leave that weekend. He told her so, simply to inform her since he knew she didn't care for him to leave. Her room mate over reacted when it came to him, especially when he fell a few months ago- she panicked and called 911, only getting a very angry Domonic since he was fine- or so he said. She hadn't been home at the time and it was probably her room mates fault he fell for all she knew. "So..." Ava said as she watched Maria looking over a paper she had gotten from a pile of many. Knowing it was a letter from the resistance she ahd joined- well both of them had a few years ago. Having the tyrants' daughter was no better honestly and they wanted out of this all together. "Just a call for information. Nothing special." She said easily before shredding the paper up in her hands and throwing it away, turning in her swivel chair to look at the screen there, seeing the cute little bunny she had as her background. Double clocking on a file that had pictures in it, she skimmed thought a few more folders in that one to find one that was labeled 'FUNNI'. Opening it she triggered a pass word prompt to come up on her computer. Typing in the twenty characters and numbers for the password she pressed enter- waiting for it to load the program up. Once it loaded it became something similar to the old notepad from the 2000s, making it almost obsolete however it was a hidden note passing program for the resistance. She typed that her brother, not that she specified it was her brother, was returning to active duty on the coming Monday. It was important information so she knew she had to pass it on else it would risk others lives. kimcora

Victoria stood observing herself from the pedestal, keeping her eyes on her naked form there in the sets of mirrors that were analyzing her form. She could see scars on her pale flesh and metal replacing skin in places that were once weaknesses. She observed the pretty contours of the exposed metal abdomen, the way the metal frame then sank under the flesh of her chest to still allow her her feminine form. It wasn't just a pretty little add on, but ballistic and fire proof plating to protect the important things within her. After all, a lot of people wanted her dead...The rest of the metal was for show mostly and defense, such as the braces inserted into her forearms and the joints replaced in her heels for optimal running. She was the woman behind the improvements movement, so she had to have a good show of her own improvements. Truly she believed in her cause. People should upgrade and make themselves the more dominant species. Machines were powerful and controlled. Humans were weak and chaotic. Even her precious military, though a well oiled machine themselves, fell prey to destruction by mechs and uprisings within their ranks. But...with a few adjustments, they would be a fighting force that would be unstoppable. People would be safe, war and uprising would be squashed, and civilians lives would be improved by mechanical enhancements as well. It was a Utopia she envisioned, of cohesive world that functioned as it should. Her thoughts brought a frown to her face, especially since she knew that all she had to do was convince the nonbelievers that this was the best and brightest future for them. The rebels wanted to oppose her perfect world and would rather live in pestilence and misery than embrace the future. She was gracious enough to give them time to...rethink their alternatives before she wiped them out. She wouldn't be so kind if their antics kept up. Already they had destroyed two military bases and bombed a prominent hospital that was used for mech research. Her patience with them was growing thin, especially after a recent shoot out with her police force that ended in many rebels dead and many of her police captured or executed. No one ever said her rule would be an easy one...she just wanted a little peace to enjoy it after she worked so hard for the seat of power. "Chancellor Victoria, you're dress is ready." Victoria looked over her shoulder, finding her designer there with a bagged dress and a look on his face that was hesitant at best. He knew she had a temper and that if he messed this order up he was done for....She walked over to the bag, opening it with a look on her face that was critical though eluded to neither favor nor dislike. The dress sat nestled within the folds of the grey bag, shining lightly in the light from the metal accents. She ran a hand along the sharp edge of the chest piece and gave a small nod. "It's perfect." She said before pulling away, motioning for her maids to help her get it on. The designer smiled brightly, the relief in his eyes showing that he certainly had been worried. He moved closer, showing her a few protective features to the dress, since it would be used for a speech on her balcony of the palace to address the people. They could never be too careful with the rebels around. She would have preferred to have her only true friend there, the only person she could ever trust to have her back, but he was on leave to heal after the war. Poor man, but she made sure to get him the best enhancements and life saving surgery money could buy. He was even promoted to the highest rank she could give him at the moment. Dominic had played his cards right and had earned her trust, something that was not easily won. If he continued to be reliable and a friend then he and his sister would want for nothing under her care. She would be sure of it, since she paid her debts and friends well... ~~~ Metal screeched as it was twisted together, the fire of the blow torch lighting the work shop up in a flurry of colors. A masked face was aimed close to the seal, watching with intense interest as the joints of the mech began to form together. Suddenly a ping came over her com in her ear, letting her know that there was an update she needed to check. The mask came off, revealing a young asian female with short pink hair, her green eyes narrowing some in annoyance. She got up from her work, leaving the rusted mech for her laptop that was hidden in the corner of the dark room. She crawled over her magazines and messy cot she slept on, opening up the laptop to get a look at the file there. She saw the post was from an operative on the north side, one that had knowledge of the Chancellor's pet going back to work soon. She gave a huff before passing the message along to the senior rebel operatives that she knew would like to know. They were staging an attack that day after all, during the Chancellor's speech. It was to drum up support and possibly kill the bitch where she stood to end her reign of tyranny before it really began. She was just as evil as her father, no doubt worse. After all the bitch killed her own father...She moved away fro the computer, storing her welding supplies away as she gave her mech a glance over. The poor piece of scrap metal had been left over after the war, but she had seen potential in it to save it. She always had an affinity for the war machines, but of course it wasn't a solid hobby to have when she was a part of the resistance to this sort of technology taking over...She pulled her eyes away from it and changed into her street clothes, keeping sure to pull her hoody and mask over her face so that she could walk through the streets undetected and to keep from breathing in the smog in the air from the lower districts. It was nasty chemical filled stuff that could blacken your lungs quickly. That was the price the poor paid after all for the Chancellor's future...She walked out onto the street, heading for the crowd into the streets since she was sure they would be meeting soon to enact the plan. They needed as many hands as they could present to be sure the attack on the palace went off without a hitch. ~~~ Lyric looked out at the crowd, his fingers drumming on the bottle of jack he held in his hand, his eyes narrowed some in a boredom that was evident on his features. He watched his opening act, Glamor, sing her pretty little lungs out, her pop-star persona so sugary sweet it was obnoxious. But that was the selling point, wasn't it? A pretty face and even prettier songs to match? It was what their life, a life he had lived so long it was like second nature to him now...He felt his frown deepen some, especially since over the sound of the content of the bottle and the thumping music and cheers, he had no conversation around him. He was utterly alone, even with all these people around him... "Lyric, really?" He blinked when the bottle was suddenly out of his hand and he looked over with an accusing look at whoever touched his drink. His manager, Nigel, stood beside him, looking at the bottle's contents before giving a huff. "I need you to be able to walk. People paid a shit ton to be here you know, kid?" Lyric rolled his eyes, giving the old man a look that was hardly impressed with the show of authority. Nigel had to admit the man was a pretty sight, even when he was obviously tipsy and annoyed. And it wasn't just due to the surgeries and enhancements either, but they definitely made him look like a slice of perfection that looked impossible to achieve. That was where his money came from, mostly his perfect face and body, while his music was the talent that kept him relevant... "This is my fifteenth show this week. I wanted a little break..." Lyric grumbled, his lip pursing in a pout that made Nigel want to give in, but he stood his ground firm. He knew the man was getting burned out from running all around the country performing at the moment, but he was the face of music at the moment. That meant he had an obligation to fill for his sponsors and fans if he wanted to truly keep living that lifestyle and making money. With that came a price of a life and fun at times...but he would have a nice break that night to do with as he pleased once this show was done. "Make this performance big and you can have all the drinks you want tonight. Throw a damn party for all I care. Just make this count! We have a lot of deals riding on this." He gave Lyric a patronizing pat on the cheek, which drew a rather dismal sigh from the man. Lyric knew that Nigel meant well for him. He had been the only parental figure after his mother in his life after all. He owed the man quite a bit and that was perhaps the only thing that kept him on these crazy schedules without breaking. He gave a huff, turning and straightening his jacket as he heard the opening act draw to an end. He saw Glamor give him a wave from the stage, the wink she spared him for the audience mostly but he knew the underlying hint there. The woman was gutsy for a small timer...He gave her a smirk before he moved forward to the stage. Smoke billowed up from the stage as cheers erupted into a chorus of screams as Lyric came onto the stage, his silhouette the only shape on stage for a moment. Suddenly he was illuminated by lights and the crowd nearly lost their minds, the noise intensifying to a level that made his enhanced hearing aids ring. He gave the crowd a bright smile, waving to them with a bubbly excitement that looked more genuine than it truly was felt at the moment. These people were promised a show after all, and he would give it to them... ((The song in question. Super poppy and futuristic lol))

Domonic looked at himself in the mirror, having went shopping for a good suit- since his were more then likely destroyed in the war since the last time he wore one. It was a simple on since he still had to be able to move in it and most elaborate things were harder to move in. He was going to go surprise her, since they ahd shared a letter or so over his leave, since he missed her. he also wanted to see how she was, knowing she worried a lot. Glancing out into the hall- he noticed his sister wasn't paying attention- meaning he could slip out. Putting on a mask for basic health there in the open streets, he moved along waving his badge when he had to get into places- mostly the building where she lived. He was missed as was obvious by his men fawning over him and wishing him well as he moved. He thanked them but mentioned wanting o see Victoria before the speech- thought most flinched at he casually he spoke her name. That brought back him mind that he wasn't behaving properly there- this was a new environment- he wasn't just playing soldier anymore- and Victoria wasn't just his friend- and crush- she was the new Chancellor. He was out side her main chambers when he knocked, glancing at his watch- seeing it was still before the speech- thankfully The door opened and he was questioned by a man with a heard look, however his own happy look at the idea of seeing Victoria was evident. Not many were 'happy' to see this woman- so they knew he was the usual- Dom since had always been happy to see the woman. ---------------- The message was flagged as read as she closed her lap top, giving a sigh to the general room. Ave was looking out the window with a frown. "Your brother can is so brave ya know?" She said in a dreamy voice, getting an eye roll from Maria. "Get over it- he is almost recovered. He will be leaving soon." She said as she pulled out a book she was making notes in. Ave gave her a side long glance. "Soon then you think even." She said with a small giggle and left it be. She wasn't going to tattle on the man- he was a grown up after all and needed his space.

Victoria was patiently in the process of having her long white blonde hair done up in a high ponytail by a metal piece when the knock came at the door. She turned her head slightly with an annoyed look, trying to see who it was but her hair got pulled painfully and she had to turn back around. The maid finished quickly as a the armed guard at her door came in with news of who the guest was. When Domonic’s name left the man’s lips, Victoria’s stern expression instantly softened in surprise as she gave the pair left in the room a wave of her hand. “You are dismissed until further notice. Return when the balcony is prepared for the speech.” She said and the workers listened quickly to her orders. The maid scurried from the room, the armed guard giving Domonic a motioned to go inside as he left to stand outside the room. Victoria rose from her seat, smoothing out the skirt of her dress to get the creases from it before Domonic came in. She got a look at him when he came in, all dressed up in a suit and looking put together again. She could see his metal hands and around his eyes, where his eyes had been replaced by hardly noticeable cybernetic ones. She remembered the last time she saw him, burned and crushed under the weight of rubble from the building he ad went in to help her finish her goal. It had been a horrifying sight, one that drove her into a panic despite the war dying down around her. She would never tell him that, or that she actually shed tears for him in the privacy of her own convoy as he was taken to the nearest functional facility for medical attention. But she couldn't hide that she was excited to see him there, especially since she hadn't seen him since then and had only heard from him in letters. She thought he was still on medical leave however, so of course she was concerned to see him up and moving around. She gave him a smile when she saw him, moving over to him since they were alone. "Dom, you made it!" She said, pulling her arms around him in a hug that no one would have believed her capable of. Then again, that was why they were alone and Domonic was the only one she would ever show that kind of care. She pulled away a little, her expression showing that she was glad he was there. "How are you? I didn't think you would be able to be here. You are supposed to be recovering and with your sister." She said since he seemed to be in good health and functioning properly. ~~~ Nina made her way down the back alley way, stopping at an old factory door. She gave three knocks, getting the attention of a man behind the door. "What?" He barked, making her have to rip down her mask and give him a proud look. "I'm here for the fun." She said, making the man nod and move away from the door. he door opened, allowing Nina in to see what was going on. She found the room full of 20 men and women, all armed with scrounged up weapons and looking just as grungy and exhausted. She frowned at the sight, finding the commander out front talking to another rebel captain. "This is it? There is no way we can take on the Chancellor's estate with this few soldiers." She growled to the older man there, who was missing an eye that was hidden behind his eye patch. He gave her a glare, wanting to shut the little girl up. "What else do you want from us? This is the last of our force from the southern part of the city. We tried gathering volunteers but most are afraid. Our reinforcements won't be here from the eastern cities till a few days from now." "We can't wait that long...we need to destroy her when she is out in the open and weak." Another woman interjected, getting a nod from Nina. She agreed, especially since it meant that this was the chance to get Victoria alone and have a clean shot at her. They had the plans thanks to an inside man and a shot at doing away with her after their distraction trap was set off. They could win if they played their cards right, ample men or not.

Domonic came into the room, noticing it was as elegant as ever, the decor to her liking, similar to his own. His eyes however went to the woman there in a beautiful golden dress. The first thing he noticed was how happy she looked to see him, that made him fee light and happy that he made this choice to come see her. When she moved close and gave him a hug, he hugged her back but in a more controlled manner since his arms were mecha. He could feel the controlled strength in her arms and her body that pressed against him and it made him blush a bit. "Of course I did. You didn't expect me to sit back and watch did you?" He asked more rhetorically since it was well known that when she asked him to jump- he asked how high. Not a question of why or what for, simply what she wished of him. "I love my sister but I can only take her babying me for so long. I was coming back tomorrow but I decided I would get a head start and come tonight-Mostly-..." He paused his words before glancing around, seeing only them for sure. He didn't wnat to over step his station in front of others since it wasn't their businesses. "Mostly to see you." He said in a soft tone since she hadn't moved away too far. She knew he had feelings for her, since he had confessed just before the plot to over throw her father had begun. It was a darker part of their lives but he wanted no regrets in this life. "You looked splendid tonight Victoria. I am proud to serve you My Lady Chancellor." He complimented her as he bowed lightly and gave her hand a lingering kiss.

Victoria knew the close proximity was not healthy for their relationship, but she wanted a bit of contact with the man she had last seen on death's doorstep. She knew his feelings for her, but also that no matter her own feelings, it couldn't be allowed. She was a leader now, the woman in power that needed the full attention and respect of those around her. She had no room for weaknesses or anyone tying her down. If anyone were to target him to get to her...she wouldn't allow that to happen or for it to be her down fall. She had too much riding on this and was balancing too much precariously on the knifes edge. He had to understand that, hence why she was sure he was being careful. She offered him a smirk when he talked of sitting back and watching, especially since she had been around him long enough to know he was a doer and not one to stand back. He had been the first to rise to the occasion in many of the military actions her father led and had even been the only one to agree to spar with her when she was first learning to fight. Most were horrified at the idea of the Chancellor's pretty little daughter fighting, but he simply accept her for who she was and what she could do, not by her title. She always respected him for that. Hence why she didn't adversely react to him admitting he didn't come back out of simple loyalty to his work, but to see her. She wanted to thank him for that, to tell him she would be happy to always have him there, but what she wanted and what she could have were two very dangerously different things at the moment. She offered him a softer look, though there was a reserve there that kept her emotions carefully locked away. When he bowed and kissed her hand, his words filling her with the same warm glow of pride that the kiss left on her hand, she gave gave his hand a squeeze before pulling away to find his cheek, the touch so feather light it was a ghost of a feeling. "I'm glad you're here. I would have no one else at my side, my friend." She said, though she did decide to add more shortly afterwards. "You deserve to be here...to see what all our hard work gained." She pulled away from there close proximity as she decided to walk to the large window there, opening the curtain some to see out into the courtyard. It was full of people ranging in age and social status, the noise from the crowd even being heard from the 5th floor that her personal quarters sat on. "Please, behind closed doors, to you, I am Victoria...To be called Chancellor as my father before me... It feels so surreal, all this power over so many lives. The power to mold this world into its true power and prowess. My father may have squandered that power away...but I intend to do what is best for them all. Whether they believe me or not." She looked over her shoulder at him, still finding his face unmarred despite the countless surgeries and enhancements. "You do realize that this speech is doomed to ruin from the very beginning. The people demanded to see my face after the war...probably so the rebels can get a clear shot." She said with a bit of dark humor since she knew she held very little favor. This was a dictatorship at this point, so she hardly gave a real shit. The people were misguided and didn't know what they really needed. She would show them in time with Domonic's help of course.

He noticed the small look in her eyes, the soft feel of her hand, that meant he wasn't allowed to feel that way- but it was hopeless and they knew it. They had always been very careful with this, never showing weakness in public, even seeming annoyed at one another when he personally was annoyed with the social situation. The slight touch to his cheek was barely there but he knew she meant well by it- else she would have slapped him. At her words- mostly calling him a friend- he straightened up, pulling his jacket straighter on his frame, taking his hand from hers. He moved his eyes away for a moment before she spoke again, saying he deserved to be there. He watched her move from his side to look out the large window. Domonic gave a nod at her words of what to call her by. He knew this- it was a special privilege very few had and he was very proud to be one of them. "Yes, I know you will." He said softly since it was true, he believed in her. When Victoria went on about how the speech was to get a shot at her, he paled a bit, thought his ears got a little red at the tips. His eyes narrowing a bit as he decided to calm himself before speaking again, in case it got him in trouble. "I will not allow them to harm you. Please let me give this doomed speech. Let me protect you Victoria. I can't stand the idea that you would be hurt." He said strongly in a slightly zealous tone since he was serious about this. SHE was a serious subject to him.

Victoria kept her distance from Domonic, mostly because she knew he wouldn't be happy to hear her thoughts and the intel she had heard from a few of her advisors. It seemed the little rebels were awfully busy lately for causing trouble. Meddling in things they didn't understand was what they did best. That and attempting to kill her. She could feel his anger nearby as she watched him, wanting to keep her eyes on him to see his expression. His words struck a nerve with her, just as her's had set him off to overstep with his words. He knew better than to question her ability to defend herself, but she would forgive the transgression as she usually did with him. She gave a clipped chuckle at him asking to take the doomed speech from her. Wouldn't that be rich to see the people's reaction at him delivering her speech? They would be furious...and that would put him in direct danger that she didn't want. Not for something senseless as that. "Won't that get a rise out of the nobility of the city." She snickered though her hand on hip look and hardly forgiving narrow of her eyes showed that her humor was as short as her temper. "I didn't tell you because I am afraid, Dom. You know better than to assume I can't handle myself." She said, her tone prideful and a bit heated. She had been a major part of the war and fought along side the very people that sided with her. She was not a pampered little princess in this palace, she only had to wear the dresses like one. His concern was sweet and noted, but she would never allow it. Though her look did avert to the door where she knew soon an advisor would be in to tell her that the podium was set and her security was ready for her to enter the premises. They had only been talking for minutes but it felt like time was slipping away so quickly. "I do want you there with me though. Close enough that if things go wrong the situation can be handled quickly. These little rebels play dirty and I have a feeling they won't be subtle." She said to him, knowing he would have to simple suffice with being allowed to be on the balcony with her and her security and advisors. A knock came at the door and soon a man entered, pausing mid greeting when he saw Domonic there. Victoria knew his face, he was her economic advisor, a twittery old man that looked frail as he was ancient. "Lady Chancellor, the preparations are finished. Your speech is expected to begin in moments." Victoria nodded and gave the man a shooing motion with her hand. He hobbled from the room with a bow, leaving them now not totally alone since her security detail had entered. She tapped the neck of her dress and the collar raised a bit, the light hum of a single use ballistic force field coming up around her head. It would be enough to ensure she stayed alive if there was a shot taken at her, a neat little trick her designer created for testing. She gave him a prideful look as she passed him, letting her eyes only spare him a longer look before she followed the tall, spindly man out of the room. The balcony overlooked the large courtyard below that was filled with people. On the sides of her and on the roofs, men with snipers stood ready to take down anyone suspicious or causes of trouble. It was very evident by the loud and intense atmosphere that people there were either petrified by the high security, admired their Chancellor for providing for their safety, or were there to feel her out and get a look at the lady that would run their lives till her death. She entered the balcony from a pair of wide set double doors, hearing the announcement of her name from the same spindly economic advisor. She gave a wave to the crowd as she entered up to the podium, receiving a deafening amount of cheers, while a good number remind silent. Her speech began with the usual, the introductory parts of any acceptance speech that contained the history of their world, the innovation and war that drove them to this point and the bright new future ahead of them. Her policy was stated clearly and there for all to hear in words that would be pleasant for their ears. She got her eloquence from her father after all and she was one hell of a public speaker. It showed by the way people seemed to be swayed, the simple cheers turning to hopeful shouts at her talk of innovation and progress... ~~~ Nina leaned against a lamp post on the street corner, watching from a good distance to see what was going on at the speech. She was waiting for the all clear from their inside man to meet up with the soldiers heading into the palace. So far everything looked to be going according to plan. The diversion explosives were already in place in the courtyard fountain and the team in charge of amping up the crowd was already in place in civilian gear. That left her team, all blacked out in their outfits that were hardly up to standard with real military grade outfits. But they would have to do, especially if they wanted to succeed here....She gave her ear piece a press, listening to the chatter before the call to enter the building finally came. She ran to the back door to the kitchen, finding that the guards were taken out by the 10 men and women that stood before her. Seems their plan was going off well so far...

He ignored her humored tone since he knew it was a cover for her being mad at his words. He looked away from her, knowing he had over stepped, though both knew he wouldn't apologize for it and she wouldn't make him. He didn't speak, staying silent to her words, a nod since he knew she was so strong. She was carrying this country on her back and refused to let him help her carry it. He understood her pride and her strength- always had but some times he wished for her to be like his sister. He stood straight, his head bowed to her since she was his superior still. At her comment about keeping him close at hand to handle things me nodded. "Of course- I will do what I can-even if it takes my life." he stated quietly to her however bowed to her, a fist to the chest as he was showing respect to her. There was some one else in the room so now he was all manners, which was smart on his part. He tuned the crowd out with his ears, enhancing the night vision a bit better seeing all the security and marking each, even a few faces in the crowd looking for a reaction to things. He however wasn't seen by the crowd- he was standing behind Victoria- his back to hers- barely touching but he could feel her body heat. It was reassuring to him to feel her there so this was going to end very badly for whom ever decided to try to hurt Victoria. Shifting his body a bit he pulled out a gun, as well as what looked like a tack down device- practically a thrown sticky taser- meant to incapacitate the victim at a range. His gun was loaded and silence so this wasn't something to make light of since he was more then ready to take care of some lousy rebels...

Victoria gave a small frown at hearing he would offer his life over her's. As glad as she was that he would protect her, she didn't want to see him lost in all of this. She had a goal to achieve, yes. But at the expense of the only person she really trusted to help her in all this...it was nerve wracking to consider being completely alone in this world. She kept those thoughts from her mind as she spoke, speaking to all the people there and thanking them for their continued support and contributions to progress in this time of change. They needed to see her as their benevolent ruler, even if they had no say in who was elected. Most would believe her, however it was the some that were still on the fence that she still needed to convince. But of course that was the hardest... "And in closing, I want to bridge a gap between the people of our country and the government. To repair the injustices my father put in place and bringing us all together for the greater good of our future Utopia--" Before she could finish, shouting began nearby and people began clearing away from a man that was behaving erratically. Victoria only had time look at him before he was taken out by a sniper nearby. Screaming began at the shot fired, everyone that had once been cheering with her speech was now running for cover or hiding in hopes to escape. Before she had time to really move at all, there was an explosion by the nearby fountain, consuming the courtyard in smoke and shrapnel that was flung even as high as the balcony. Victoria's security moved closer to her trying to cover her, moving her back from the podium and toward the doors. She was halfway inside a door when the guard on her right dropped from a shot that was followed by more from her military forces. Anger was evident in her features as well as a certain control that took over whenever she was in danger. She was trained as a soldier and had learned how to divert her fear and adrenaline into action. Though she couldn't be expected to kill these rebel's terrorizing her herself, she wouldn't allow her to see him even slightly afraid. "Chancellor Victoria. You and your advisors will be taken to the secure room off the west wing till the situation is handled." She nodded though it was obvious she didn't want to hide like a little mouse. Her advisors were the opposite, shaking and looking wide eyed and panicked like rats. She let the old politician's freak out, turning her attention instead to find Domonic and see where he was. "They can't get in here without having direct access. Surely we don't need to hide in--" Suddenly shots rang out down the halls and echoed from lower levels, stopping her words quickly. She saw a soldier down the hall from her fall, followed by a black clad group making their way toward them. The group opened fire on her detail, a few that were caught of guard dropping in the initial shots. Victoria was saved into the nook of a banister, hidden from the fire by one soldier that was covering her front. The rebels were dropping faster than her men, but she could tell a few were trained soldiers by how accurate the bullets they did use were. A few hit two of her advisors, while the others scattered into nearby rooms. That left her and a few of her men to clear a path in the hall to at least get out of the situation. She took the hand gun from the soldier infant of her's waist and took shots at the rebels, hitting one in the arm and then the neck. She saw the remaining four drawing back, one taking off for a rear exit... ~~~ After the kitchen staff was subdued and locked in one of the pantries, her men split into 4 groups, each assigned with taking a floor of the building. Most were unarmed civilians and they were warned to only subdue the civilians while the military forces and Victoria were fair game. The plan was to take each of the floors and corner Victoria when she was weak. They knew she had training and that the men around her were all well seasoned and trained soldiers. They were to proceed to her with caution, since they didn't want to lose more men to a useless fight. Nina already knew that this was dangerous and a lost cause, but if they could at leas injure the woman or get her vulnerable, they may have a chance to end this. Her group took to the 4th floor, the main wing of the palace where Victoria had last been seen on the balcony by their sniper. Though he had been killed after his initial shot at Victoria, they gathered valuable information about her whereabouts. When they reached the floor, they were met with heavy fire which they dealt with with only one casualty. When they made their way further down the hall, they found Victoria's detail and thankfully caught some of them off guard. They took shots at the group, exchanging fire with her guard well due to their training. Soon however it was looking like their resistance was wavering and Nina knew that things were getting bleaker for them. "Fall back!" She shouted to save who she could, moving back towards the hall they came from. A few stayed to cover their escape while others began to slip down the hall and away from the fight...

He was listening to her smooth voice, she always had a silver tongue similar to her fathers. He heard a shot, meaning one was down- however he could felt that this wasn't over yet. He didn't flinch when there was an explosion- knowing it was a distraction- he had used this method himself when he was working his way back to Victoria's troop in the main rebellion. He moved away from her however- a few bits of flack hitting his back- though he barely felt them. He moved into the room and into the hall way- knowing the security detail had Victoria for now and if they didn't he was able to get to her. Once the first shot was heard in the hall he moved, aiming his gun with accuracy that was almost inhuman. It was of course a bit impossible to protect every one but he motioned for one to take care of Victoria- having shoved her into the banister nook- knowing it was hidden. Her golden dress did little for camouflage but he was confident enough to protect her. Domonic's eyes were trained on the woman who yelled to fall back after a few more were taken out- meaning she was the leader of this group. He moved quickly, charging them- following her down the hall and out the exit- knowing he could get her- he was much faster. Reaching into his jacket he pulled out the taser, and threw it at the woman- hitting her in the leg- however some one swung in from a side window and slammed their foot into the side of his head- flinging him into the wall. His vision wasn't clear- in fact it was static from the jolt he got form the kick. He picked himself up and attempted to go after them however they were gone. He grabbed his head- feeling it pulsate with the electrical currents that were off since he was still working on recovering honestly- he knew this but not many did- perhaps it was a lucky hit. He punched the floor and cussed about letting them get away- he almost had them. He however wasn't able to see so he was stationary till some one came to fetch him. He would be seen by the doctor and scolded no doubt and sent home for another week- he wouldn't listen however- he was finally back where he felt he belonged- he wasn't going any where- most definitely not far from Victoria. ------------- Maria was listening to the com chatter from the group since she was from the second floor team- He had arrived last minute- thinking her brother was at home with Ave- resting like a good boy. Upon further listening she heard a large commotion from up stairs- she moved out of her group- though a few gave her complaints. She darted through the halls up to a side exit- she chose to take an exterior route since the halls now knew they were there and would be armed. Moving quickly along the edge of the building she was working her way up to the roof to go into the access there however stopped as she glanced into a large window- her eyes on Nina- who was down- and injured. She was going to be caught- that wasn't part of the plan at all - however her assailant wasn't part of it either. She made a quick decision and busted through the window- using her momentum to slam her foot into her brothers' head- sending his tot he wall- then the floor- he was down for at least a minute- his neuron receptors in a disarray still. He kicked the taser from the girl's leg and helped her up and out an exit- they were out by then and she knew her brother wouldn't be able to follow- she knew he had confided in her that he still felt weak in his head- she felt a bit of a burn of betrayal still from that action but she needed this to work. For not just her but for her close minded brother who was blinded by a pretty face.

When the rebels retreated and Victoria was allowed out of hiding, the palace staff and guard began rounding up and collecting the dead for proper treatment. She watched the two advisors that were killed in the crossfire be taken down the hall by the police on stretchers, drawing a glare from her towards the corpse of one of the rebels. A soldier tried to guide her away, but she shook off the touch since she didn't like being touched by people beneath her. She gave the man a critical look that actually made him flinch and bow profusely to her in apology. She huffed at the useless bobbing, looking down her noes at the action before motioning for him to go help the others. As he left her, her eyes went to the hall and found Domonic being escorted away by the medical team. She wanted to be sure he was alright, but figured if he was walking, he was okay. Her attention was drawn away by one of her shaken advisors going to her side, the woman a flurry of emotions as she tried to pull herself together. "Chancellor, what do you require of us?" She asked, drawing Victoria to take her shaking hands with a serious expression. The woman was her communications advisor, a woman of great standing in the community at large that she was sure would be needed in the next hour since they had to act fast on this embarrassing display of weakness. The rebels couldn't be allowed to spin this in their favor. She had to act quickly if this was to be a victory for her before them. "Gather who we have for an emergency meeting. I need you all ready for a debrief on the situation that my analysts are collecting from the remaining prisoner..." She said, drawing away from the woman to go towards her office. When she entered she found men standing guard, one such soldier holding a tablet for her to take. She opened it and saw that it was a feed of the prisoner, a young man that looked bloodied and broken on the cell floors as her interrogation team went to work on him. She gave a smirk at the sight, of the small little murderer being held accountable...Before she could take more enjoyment in this, a person cleared their throat nearby, drawing her attention and steely gaze from the tablet. She found it was her personal maid, the older woman looking uneasy as she looked Victoria over. "Can I help you Regina?" She asked in an authoritative tone that made the woman tense some, her eyes not leaving Victoria's outfit. "I-I came by to see if you needed help changing my Chancellor...your dress is ruined..." Victoria blinked, looking down at the dress to find that it was stained with blood from the gun fight. Her expression dulled, but there was no other reaction to the gore than slight surprise. "Ah I see. Yes. Fetch my gear. I wish to be in something more comfortable when I address my advisors." The maid bowed and left in a hurry, drawing Victoria to look at one of her intelligence captains that stood in the room. The man had been waiting patiently for his turn at being ordered, something that Victoria liked. She hated impatient people. "Make sure reparations are paid to the immediate family of our fallen. As for the rebels. I want their names and information on their relations...We will track them down and send a message." She said with a certain heat to her tone before she left to change in preparation for her meeting. ~~~ Nina had been half way down the hall when she heard someone running after her, though she didn't slow to turn around. They were gaining on her and she needed out of there before she was killed or caught. She wouldn't allow herself to be taken hostage. She knew too much to fall prey to that evil bitch and her people...Mid tread something hit her leg, sending painful volts of electricity up her leg that drew a cry of pain from her. Her body spasmed and locked up at the shocking, sending her to the ground and sliding in a tense heap. She looked at the man coming toward her with wide eyes from beneath her mask, expecting the man that was more machine than person to kill her. However someone came crashing through the window, knocking the man to the ground in an impressive show of force. She lay there struggling to get up as the electricity passed through her, till the girl from her unit ripped the taser off her leg. She thanked her breathlessly as she helped her to her feet and out the nearest exit. When they exited the staff elevator and down to the street below, the pair were picked up by a van that was waiting to pick up the few survivors. The space in the van reminded Nina that only 20 of their initial 43 were coming back with them, making her grunt and bury her face in her hands. She however got herself together and glanced up at the woman that saved her, pulling off her mask to offer her a serious but thankful look. "Thanks...Maria right?" She said before she was left to catch herself when the van hit a bump. "That mission was shit...We had her..." She grumbled, drawing a noise of annoyance from nearby. "We were out gunned and out numbered, Nina. Don't get this twisted...we didn't have a chance." A man nearby hissed, his bloody shoulder showing that he had been shot by a high velocity round, making his arm limp from the muscle torn there. She gave him a dismissive nod before looking ahead at the driver. "Head back to the base to report...we need medical attention." She said to the driver over the comms, ignoring the fact that the space was tense... ~~~ "Holy shit...Did you see this?" Lyric looked up from where his attention had been on her skin, finding Glamor was watching T.V. with wide eyed shock. He raised a brow at the T.V. wondering why the woman would be so concerned with watching the news when they were a bit busy at the moment. Needless to say he was drunk at this point and after a night of partying their lives away with the high life of society at a local club, he was in the mood to ignore the outside world for just a little longer. He however paused when he saw the scene of destruction, especially when it was inside the Chancellor's palace. He pulled away from Glamor, making her give a dissatisfied huff at him moving away to sit at the edge of the bed. She tried to draw his attention back to her, but there was no hope at this point. He was interested in seeing this, especially since his heart lurched at the sight of the injured people from shots and explosions. How could someone harm all those people like this? "Turn it up." He ordered in a soft tone, making her grumble something unintelligible before obliging to turn the tv up. "Twenty injured and eight parished in the attacks on the CHancellor's palace tonight. The current story is that the attack was staged by rebel forces as an attack on Chancellor Victoria while she gave her first speech as appointed Chancellor, a highly anticipated event in our nations history...more details will be released as our station knows more..." Suddenly the T.V. was off and Glamor was in his field of vision, attempting to distract him with a kiss that was greedy and forward. Lyric kissed her back, but it was obvious he was still distracted. "All those people. We have to help out. Maybe donate money from the show to help the victims." He said as she kissed down his neck, only getting a 'Mmhmm' from her before she pushed him back into bed. "Don't worry. The Chancellor will surely contact us soon for public relations...We are her star endorsement after all." Glamor said in a playful tone, though it was hardly a comfort to Lyric. He knew he had the Chancellor to thank for his enhancements and life of fame, but he didn't like the idea of just being an empty figure head puppet for her either...but what else was he to do? He wanted to support Victoria, especially when he was sure she was the only one that could help all these people...

Maria gave a frown at Nina who forgot her name all the time it seemed. She had been part of this resistance since it began as well, thought feeling a little bad for undermining her brother. "Your right- it was a bad mission- one we lost a lot of good men on. We should think things through better before we act next time. We can only assume she is gathering her generals" She stated in a serious voice since she was only pouty and carefree with her brother. They headed back to the base and helped get the men inside to get the help they needed. Most of it was gun wounds so it was an easy fix, thankfully. If her brother had gotten his hands on Nina they would be in huge trouble. She was going to express that again in this next meetings since her brother would be going back soon- if he didn't stay now. meaning she herself had to be more careful, though she was still thinking of ways to keep him safe.

Nina's attention was on the others as Maria spoke, her eyes only going to her when she mentioned the bit about her generals. She agreed that the mission was poorly planned, but what options did they have? At this point, Victoria was a threat that needed to be stopped before she gained momentum. Right then she was already gaining support from the upper class and she was already the forefront of military support. If they waited too long, she could be a force to be reckoned with, that and her insane plans to mechanize everyone. She was an insane dictator that killed her own father to secure her position. How did that bode well for people that tried to oppose her fanatic ideology? "You're right. Hopefully with our reinforcements coming in from the cities in the east we can spear head this thing..." She said before the van came to a stop at their warehouse. At this point the wounded were unloaded, leaving them to go and meet with the head generals at this time. Nina stopped to look at Maria at this point, wondering if she had to rush off as she usually did. She knew she was under a tight watch from her brother, though Nina had limited intel on her. He must have been a soldier of some kind with the intel that she was able to pass along. "Are you sticking around for the debriefing with the rest of us? I'm sure they would want to know if you have any more from your source about military movements of the head generals?" She asked, wanting her there but knew that she wouldn't hold her to it if she couldn't. ~~~ Victoria paced the table, her hand skimming a file there while her advisors sat patiently and still shaken up from the business earlier. Her eyes went over the people there, finding Domonic's empty seat towards the head of the table with the other military and special agent groups. He was in the medical wing at the moment receiving treatment, but she knew from some indication that he was alright. She would have been told otherwise if her military commander was killed...She swallowed hard and ignored the burn in her gut, turning it to a steeliness in her expression that made the whole room go rigid. "We are here to discuss the situation and to get ahead of it before the rebels are able to spin this to their advantage...First...Explain to me why the bastards got into my palace in the first place?" She asked, looking to the head of security that looked nervous but attempting to be put together. "I-I believe they had insider loyalty Chancellor. It is only a theory, but a few of my men are missing..." He said making her look turn particularly cold. "It isn't unheard of...There are some still loyal to your father that have slipped the radar and joined the rebel cause..." An older man, her special operations commander, said from his place at the table, the greying stubble on his dark skin making him look rugged, but put together. Victoria nodded, but she was tense in doing so. How could people still be loyal to that old hypocrite? The people were only loyal to him because he coddled them, spoon fed them fake promises while he gouged them for more. He was a cruel and sadistic man...and yet they hated her.... "How many were killed on our side and theirs?" She commanded, making the nearest woman at the table, her social relations advisor, speak up. "18 of our soldiers killed, 2 of your advisors, and 8 civilians. There were 20 injured civilians. The rebels lost 13 and we have 1 in the holding cells but he is wounded badly..." Victoria nodded to the woman before looking to her special operations commander. "And what are we doing with the man in our holding cells? Has he given any information yet?" The commander shook his head, looking a bit surprised by her already wanting the man to be talking. Interrogation didn't work that way... "It will take time Chancellor. As in maybe another two days or so--" "No. I want information as quickly as possible and then I want the rebel made an example of...How is the information on identifying the rebels? Any word yet?" "A-Again with all do respect Chancellor it will take us more time. We expect to have their family ties and relations as soon as they know more..." He said, drawing a glare from Victoria. "Fine. Then have the names brought to me so I can hand deliver them to special operations. I want their relations dealt with immediately. Perhaps the rebels will learn what the cost of this war really is if it extends beyond their immediate group?" She noticed the table was rather pale at this news, especially since this meant targeting families. They were all spineless honestly...In war you had to stop this at the head of the conflict, to let your enemy know you were not playing around. She would have these rebels backed into a corner soon enough... "As for public relations. I want our representative team on the ground and reaching out to the victims here. Provide the families of the fallen and the injured with free medical treatment and enhancements. I want all expenses billed to me. As for talking points, get me on the prime time reports in the media to address the losses and tear these rebels apart. Bring our little song bird. We need public attention and favor at this time and I will not be ignored..." She pulled away from the table, having sent the men and women on their duties while she adjourned to her room where she was being forced to stay so that the medical team could be sure she was alright. She wanted to be down in the holding cells getting this rebel bastard to talk, but she knew better...knew that she had to be a face the people could trust...that meant keeping her hands relatively clean, even behind closed doors...

At the mention of reinforcements she frowned, 'just more sheep to the slaughter'. After helping the wounded get settled she looked over at Nina who asked her if she as going to stay. She frowned a moment as she thought. "I can't- I have to go. Ava will go in my place- She should be here by now, waiting on you all to connive. I'm glad your okay Nina, it would have gotten messy otherwise." She said before patting her on the shoulder and left. She headed over to the hospital quickly after changing and ran the entire way to make sure she looked flushed with 'worry'. She barged into the room, pushing past a man who was watching the door, and clinged to her brother looked upset. "I told you to stay home and I come back back find you not only gone but a call from the hospital?!" She said in a bothered tone getting a frown from him. "I'm fine." He said however the Doctor shook his head. "You took a large impact to your skull- You are not fine." He said in a stern tone, getting a dirty look from Domonic. "I'm still able to walk and talk- I can see okay so its fine." He said in a slightly annoyed tone. "We are going to have to keep him over night to do a test on his nuero cycle for his eyes." He stated getting a nod from his sister who deiced to stay with him. It was early in the morning when she heard the door open, thought she pretended to be asleep as she heard it was military talk. "Sir, I have you mission Debrief if you wish to hear it?" he asked in a professional tone. "Alright Jon- lets hear it." He said in a tired sounding voice. They went over the things form the meeting and what the Chancellor wanted done, as well that she wished him a smooth recovery. He gave a nod," Your dismissed." He said finally before brushing her hair lightly with a hand softly to not wake her. He gave a heavy sigh before settling more into the uncomfortable bed, while she waited till he fell asleep before getting on her phone and calling some one- having stepped out of the room. "Connect me with a runner- I have news." She stated quickly passing on a small message about meeting up with a contact soon with information.
