She listened to him with out a word of retort, she knew that this was his house and she was to follow his rules with out complaint. She had expected as much when she left with him but it would take some getting use to for her. She wasn't too familiar with this form of teaching cause the previous teachers came to her in the palace. She nodded her head and almost objected to him ignoring her status but wasn't given a change as he walked away.
Isis huffed to herself and just walked back to her room, she wanted to check out a couple of those scrolls. She had pulled one out and unrolled it. She had barely started reading the scroll when she heard him call. Isis got to her feet and made her way out into the living quarters and before he could say anymore she opened her mouth "If you so wish to leave my status out of your teaching then I request that you call me by my name and not princess" she said in soft professional tone. Not really sure if he was going to respect that request, maybe it was to remind himself that she was a princess or something along those lines but she didn't like the way that he said it to get her attention.

A low growl of a chuckle fell from his throat at her request and his eyes looked humorously upon her. "What would be the fun in that? Calling you 'Princess'..." He drawled out and emphasized the word princess as if it was a joke that only he would find funny. "Just makes me feel so humbled when in your presence." He wondered than had that been a bit to mean but of course it had been mean. He wouldn't have it any other way but than one of his odd smiles crossed his face and he handed the scroll he had been holding out to her. "Of course Isis I will call you by your name however do not expect the same reverence when saying it as I will have when we practice your ceremonies. On another note however you have this parchment to read by tomorrow. I will test you on it in the morning after breakfast. You may go now. I will call you when dinner has been prepared that is unless you have any questions or objections." Her father had known he was mean at least Ramzan had believed that he had been told the stories of his 'tasteful' humor. It would get better the longer she stayed here and would be even more fun if she had a whip of a tongue on her. Ramzan would ever so much enjoy that.

She admitted a low growl when he acted as if he was mocking her. Here she was obeying his every request and rule and he wasn't even showing the same 'just you wait' she mumbled to herself but kept her eyes trained on his. She would get back at him soon though, she wasn't one to stand by and be treated this way. She bowed her head slight and took the parchment from him "Never an objection and questions are for later" she snapped out slightly and turned walking back to her room. She closed the door not wanting to be bothered as she worked on her assignment. She knew that he was the best of the best teachers but that didn't mean he had to be so full of himself. She opened the parchment and just stared in awe for a minute wondering where he had gotten so many scrolls. Then she lightly ran a hand over it just to get a feel for the scroll. She then began reading the scroll slowly.

She definitely was a feisty one. Ramzan chuckled lowly again as she left and walked over to the kitchen and lit a small fire, opening a vent in the ceiling to ventilate the smoke. He began making a soup with meat in it, letting the meat marinate and become tender in the boiling water as he added seasonings as needed. On the small table he places half a loaf of bread with dates baked in and two spoons. He let the soup simmer for a good hour and a half.
Meanwhile he had grabbed a scroll for himself to read out of his room. It was one that he had read so many times that he could read it with his eyes closed however it was something that haunted him greatly. It spoke of Anubis's history and of the many ceremonies he was in. Also it spoke of Ramzan's father towards the very end and how he had promised his first son as a tribute to Anubis. He was to be his reincarnation. A new age for the gods was going to begin with him. It angered him greatly as he knew the story well. His father was to die an early death but instead of dying and accepting his fate as any other high priest would he sacrificed the life of his first born son instead. What a horrible tragedy it had been when sixteen years later he was murdered by the anarchists head. But alas that was a twisted fate that Ramzan had to bare and it was one he was to do honorably but when one had finally found out the truth of his fate than one would realize how he portrayed many of the same traits as Anubis was said to have.
After he had finished reading the scroll, his mouth was turned into a frown. His stomach protested in hunger as the smells of the soup wafted throughout the building. Standing up he extinguished the fire and then called out, "Isis dinner is ready whenever you are ready." He would not eat however until she had been served and sat. It was only polite on his part.

She was enveloped in the scroll, she had never read anything like it and she didn't want to stop reading it. However when Ramzan called for her she couldn't bring herself to stop reading, she had to reread the beginning just one more time before she left to go it. It would take her several more minutes before she was done, but it was just how she was. Her stomach growled several times trying to get her to leave the scroll but she just ignored it.
When her hunger finally got too much she rolled the scroll up and and left it on the small desk. She made her way to the small kitchen and sat down not saying a word as to why she took so long. If he truly wanted to know then he would ask her but she was sure he knew why she didn't just come running.

""I'm glad that you are enjoying the scroll I gave you. I figured it would be a good one to start you off with." Ramzan stated as he saw her come in and sit down. He than served her a bowl of the meat soup, a medley of vegetables mixed in as well. He also brought over himself a bowl that was filled up. He set down her bowl in front of her and than took a seat himself waiting for her to take the first bite. "If you need something to drink let me know and I shall get it for you. There is wine, water, and I do believe I have a little bit of milk left."
Isis must be wondering why he was acting so polite all of a sudden but he was always this way during meals. Very civil and very gentlemanly like. He would be the perfect host during meal times but other than that he would be quite sardonic and it would seem to most that he was rude. He really wasn't he just had quite the cynical view on life. Then again what did you expect out of him. "Let me know what you think of the food and of the scroll so far." He then mentioned while waiting.

He seemed to do all the talking but she didn't really have anything to say. Everything around here was new to her and especially his attitude seemed to give her whip lash. She couldn't expect a constant mood from him, one minute he was talking down to her then next he was civil. She lifted the bowl to herself so that she could get a good feel for it and then she picked up her spoon and took a small bite. It tasted so different from the meals she ate daily and with it being so simple she never thought that it would taste this good.
Isis looked up at him "You are a good cook" she said simply not wanting to ruin the feeling in the room cause she was afraid that his mood was going to change any second. She took a few more bites of her food "The scroll is interesting and I can't wait to finish it...but I'm sure with how I am with scrolls I'm going to start over again before I finish it" she told him keeping her focus off him slightly still trying to figure him out. She wasn't sure how far she could go with her questions about him cause now she was on a level base with someone for once and way out of her comfort zone. But there was one thing that was bothering her "What makes you the best?"

After Isis had taken her first bite Ramzan began to dig into his own meal. "Thank you." He responded and then began to eat again as he listened to her speak about the scroll. He was glad than that he had picked right and even happier at her reading style. That would help her greatly with memorization when he began to give her the harder texts. He was enjoying his meal and then tore off a piece of the sweetened bread, mopping up the juices in his bowl with it.
Ramzan was then taken by surprise by Isis's next question. What made him the best? Hmmm... That wasn't very difficult to answer he guessed but he wondered why she cared. He decided to answer her without any questions however. "My father was high priest before me and I have taken after him. Growing up with him I was taken everywhere he went and I have been taught about the gods since birth. A soon as I could talk I was taught to memorize phrases and chants. Plus I have always had a knack for learning. I never want to stop finding out new things and I never quite." It was a bit of a lengthy response and it may not have been what she was really looking for but she would learn soon enough that the best time to ask personal questions was at meal time. It was her best chance at getting a non mocking and strait answer.

She finished off the stew and than started on the bread doing just as Ramzan had and used the bread to soak up the juice. She listened intently to his response and it wasn't quite what she wanted to hear but it didn't answer her question. She nodded her head and concentrated on her food. That was all the questions she had for him for now, she really wanted to get back to the scroll but was unsure of how the rest of the meal was going to go. If he wanted to talk or discuss something or if he would just let her get back to work.
Isis finished off her bowel and set it down than she sat there with her hands in her lap going over the text that she had read in her mind. She loved how her mind worked, it was as if she could focus on several things and still function as if something had her full attention. She than wondered if she had ever met his father but that was unlikely cause this was the first time that she had met Ramzan.
((Just for my knowledge what is the the text that she is reading about))

When Isis had finished Ramzan took her bowl and his own back the the kitchen. He cleaned them off and replaced them where they belonged. Returning to the table he sat back down and tore off another piece of the bread. He nibbled on it slowly while he thought on if there was anything he wanted to speak with her about. Ah yes there was one question that he had been wanting to ask her. "Why did you decide to become high priestess?" He asked her and then took another nibble at the bread, getting a gate this time that he chewed slowly. He was curious if it had been her own decision of her fathers because based on that answer he would be able to determine how well she would fair under him of course he was going to count in everything else he had observed of her. He finished the small piece of bread and was content with his meal. He was full and hopefully that would help him sleep well tonight. He was going to need it since he had a new student. ((Sorry should have told you. It is a run over of Isis's history and just different facts and ceremonies pertaining to her. Also I do believe I am done for tonight unfortunantly. ))

She wasn't shocked by his question at all just the fact that it took him this long to ask her. She had a pleasant smile on her face as she finished off the last piece of her bread "I wanted to learn the ways of the High Priestess because I believe that it will make me a better ruler. If I understand the ways of the worlds then I can better help the people" she said, it was something that she held close to her heart and for when people asked she had a good answer. "It took longer then I would have like to convince my father of that though" she didn't know why she said that but it felt like the right thing to say at the moment.
She looked over her shoulder for a moment towards her room and then back at Ramzan "If I maybe excused I would like to returned to my assignment" she said holding her patience, she didn't want to be rude but this scroll was something that she had searched for since she learned the meaning behind her namesake.

"Good I had feared that it had been your fathers choice and if that were the case then you would have a much harder time learning under me." Ramzan commented at her response. It was very good for her. She didn't really even know. Drive helped with many things and if you truly have the motivation and the want for something. You almost always will accomplish your goal.
"Yes you may go. If you need me I will be in my room so just call for me." He stood up and walked to his room not bothering with any other words. If she had questions she would seek him. So he sat down on his own bed, pillows piled on top for comfort along with blankets as well. It was much cozier than Isis's room but if she wanted to make it more homey she would have to buy it herself. Ramzan would however if she asked buy her some things but not everything she wanted. Of course however he had left his scroll out on the table, forgetting about it after he had eaten. His mind was on other things as well such as whether or not the anarchists would be striking soon again and how he would protect the Princess if a group of them attacked them. Of course he would be teaching her how to wield the weapon of her choice.

"Thank you" she said softly and got to her feet and then he left the room. She thought that she was the only one who wanted to get back to what they were doing but he left even quicker then she didn't. But she shrugged it off and started out of the kitchen. She looked back for a minute just running the conversation they just had over in her mind. Then her eyes landed on a scroll and wondered why she hadn't seen it before. She slowly walked back over to the small table and lightly placed a hand on the scroll. She wondered if he would get mad if she read it but before her mind could work that out she had already opened it a little. She started to read the scroll and did a quick read of it and near the end she stopped herself at a part that made her think. She quickly rolled the scroll back up and left it there on the table 'Defiantly should have left it alone' she thought to herself.
Isis quickly walked into her room and shut the door, she made herself comfortable at the desk and opened her assignment scroll back up. She started to read it again but her mind kept wandering back to the scroll in the kitchen. She had to make herself focus several more times just to finish up the scroll she was suppose to read. When it neared the later hours of the night she decided that it was time that she rested. She put everything back the way she had gotten it and walked over to the small bed that was in the room. She looked it over and it was by far no where near the status of what she was use to sleeping in but she crawled under the few blankets that were in there and shut her eyes.

As the night began to become later sleep took Ramzan and brought him devilish dreams of the gods and fate. Always similar and context and vivid he tended to wake up multiple times in the night. And that he did though the third time he awoke the sun had begun to rise. So he rose himself and set foot outside of his home. The sands were golden with hues of pink to match the sky above. It was a beautiful sight and he breathed in deep, the stench of a hot day heavy in the air. He went back inside and put on his head dress which he had taken off last night, along with dawning a new robe for his lower half. This time you could see the symbol of a sun on his left hip, a tattoo that he covered up when out in public. On his other hip you could just barely see the tip of an ankh a feather would be in the middle of the opening as well. They were reminders of his status and his duties. Present and future.
He began to heat up the stew from last night. He didn't have much as of right now. Later in the week he would have to go back to the city and to the market to buy more food and any thing that Isis might request of him. He then went and knocked on Isis's door to see if she was up. They might as well get a head start on the day. He then remembered that he was going to train her in fighting so after he quizzed her on her reading from last night he would have her pick her weapon and begin. He was fluent in all weapons though he was best with twin blades and his own curved blade. Setting out spoons once more he notice the scroll from last night and cursed. He grabbed it and hid it in his room hoping dearly that the gods had been kind and she hadn't read any of it. He would be furious if she had but they again maybe she wouldn't deduce the facts before she would be told. Her final test. To accept the way the gods worked and what he was soon to become.

The night was short lived for Isis, she laid in her bed for hours not really sleeping well. The place was foreign to her and unfamiliar to her so it was hard to let herself sleep. By morning she rose early and had begun to reread the scroll. Isis wanted to make sure that she was ready for what ever test Ramzan was going to put her through. She got to her feet when she heard a knock at her door. She didn't say a word but changed into a clean outfit for the day, one that would warrant more movement but still didn't quite cover her form. She placed her head dress back in its place symbolizing her status and even though Ramzan said that her status was not to be recognized but it felt weird to not where it.
She finally made her way out into the living room and then to the kitchen where she saw the place settings again and wondered what they would be eating that morning. "G'morning Ramzan" she said quietly waiting for him to say something to her.
