"Good Morning Isis. During breakfast I want you to recite the top ten attributes that Isis is said to have as well as who her husband is." Ramzan said as he poured himself and her a bowl of the left over stew and brought it to her. Tonight they would be able to eat something different but Ramzan never wasted food that could still be eaten.
"Also after breakfast you are going to choose a weapon and I will began to teach you the basics." He said no more as he began to eat, this time not waiting for Isis to began. He would eat and listen to what she had to say. It shouldn't be very hard if she had even just read the first three paragraphs but he would ask her more questions tonight to test her memory skills.
((You don't have to actually answer it but you can if you want to.))

Isis looked up at him thinking that he would have had a harder question for him. She quickly looked down at the food that he severed and noticed that it was what they had last night, Isis had to restrain herself from sticking her nose in there at the food. If it was what she got to eat then she was going to have to suck it up and eat it. She picked up her bowl thinking over his question just to make him wonder if she actually knew. She took a bite of her food and set the bowl on the table and very smoothly listed off the attributes "...and her husband was Osiris, who she was also the sister to" she said with a small smirk on her face and picked her bowl up again.
A weapon. She had never been allowed to touch such items, there was no need when her father had the soldiers to protect her but it was something new to learn so she was willing to take up the challenge, she nodded her head at the other training she would received and began to think of what weapon that she would like to learn to use.

"Very good. I expected as much from you with such a simple question. Now when you are done I want you to meet me in that room." He pointed to his work room, the one filled with scrolls to the brim. It also held what some would consider a miniature armory but to him it was just a collection of some of the finest crafted weapons one could find. So he stood from the table having finished while she was explaining and washed his bowl clean before heading to the room and uncovering the set of weapons that she would be able to choose from. He laid them out on the table in this order: Twin knives of Horus, curved sword, bow and arrows made of snake skin, and of course a simple spear. He chose those for Isis based on her height and build. She would gain the muscle to wield them properly soon enough. So he sat looking over each one and picked out the twin knives as being best for her. She looked as though she would be agile and quick of the mind and that was what you needed to wield them. It would also be the easiest for Ramzan to teach since twin blades were his specialty. He ran his finger along the curves of the finely crafted blades and then to the intricately carved handle in the likeness of the head of Horus. He wondered though... Which would she pick? ((Here are the picture of them minus the spear . i579.photobucket.com/albums/ss234/elvenimp/263.jpgi579.photobucket.com/albums/ss234/elvenimp/ah9302.jpgi579.photobucket.com/albums/ss234/elvenimp/1Deathbow.jpg))

She thought it was odd that was his only question about the text that she read but watched him get up and leave. She found it quiet odd that he just left but she just turned to her food and started to eat. It was hard to eat leftovers but she wanted to show him that she could adapt well to a new situation and prove to him that she wasn't just a princess. She finished off her food and followed what he had done earlier. She cleaned out her bowel, washed it and returned it to its place.
Isis then made her way to the room that he pointed out and saw the weapons on the table. She walked up to them and started to study them. They were all beautiful but she was apprehensive about picking one up. After studying them she looked up at him and waited for instructions from him.

He watched her come in and eye the weapons. She gave off and air of being apprehensive but that was to be expected. As princess she would not have been allowed really near them unless you count the guards weapons. He sighed some and moved his hand in a brushing motion in front of them. "You may pick which ever you wish but remember it will be yours for life. The first are the twin knives of Horus. They will requite agility and quick wits. The second is your basic sword. It will require strength and stamina. The third is a bow and arrow. You will need a sharp eye and strong arms to wield this. The last is a classic spear. quick movements and balance are the key to this one. Pick up which ever one you wish to choose." He pointed to eat one as he spoke of them and then stepped back to let her choose. He had wielded every single one of these before but the only one to be used in battle were the twin knives. So he watched her and waited for her decision to be made.

Isis listened to him talk about each weapon and she studied the weapons yet again. She couldn’t see the attributes that he put on these items but she like what he had to say to each of them. She held a hand over the first weapon, the blades of Horus as much as a tie they had to her namesake’s history she placed her hand over the next but that still didn’t feel right. She did this to the other two as well but she still couldn’t find the one for her. She had to do a second pass over the items and then she dropped her hand and looked at Ramzan. “I cannot choose” she said and then her eyes shifted back down to the weapons, she hovered her hand over the twin blades of Horus “These here have…” she really didn’t have to tell him why cause she was sure that he already knew. Then she shifted her hand to hover over the bow “And this…”
She wasn’t going to make him choose for her but she just wanted to let him know that she was making a decision but it was a hard one. She had never been around weapons but she wasn’t just going to choose one and not get a feel for it. She sat there and stared down at them, she placed her hand just above each of the ones that she couldn’t decide between. She closed her eyes to take out all the distractions and then she placed her on the bow and picked it up. “This one…this one’s for me”

Ramzan watched her and it was a tough decision to make. She seemed uncertain in her choice as he watched her choose the bow. He sighed slightly and nodded his head. "If that is your choice than so be it but if you do not feel comfortable with any of these I can have you pick from the wall." He then walked up to one of his bookcases and began pushing it. Slowly but surely it slid back to reveal a huge wall adorned with any weapon possible. Like the Pharaoh had mentioned yesterday he had just come back from traveling and he had been many places with different types of weaponry. The bow had come from across the ocean and had been a gift to him from one of the rulers.
"But it you are absolutely sure on your choice than I must also give you this in case you are ever in close combat." He had hoped she didn't choose the bow. It wasn't that he was not good at it but rather it was useless if you were attacked up close but he had planned for this and grabbed a thin bladed knife off of the wall. The handle and blade so well crafted it looked to be made perfect for the princess. The Goddess Isis made up the entire blade. Her winged arms came together to form the sharp edged blade and her body, woven in a loose clothed was stretched out for the handle. It wasn't slippery as one might have expected, as it had been crated by a master and the cloth surrounding her body turned into bits of leather at points which provided and excellent grip. "I will give this to you anyways. It seems as though it was made for you no?" He commented and flipped the blade around in his right hand so that the handle was facing Isis and the blade was flat in between Ramzan's hand. He motioned for her to take it and then smiled some. "I will meet you out in front of the house when you have fully decided." He waited for her to take the blade and when she did he walked out, grabbing his own bow from his room, along with a knife of his own. His twin blades he strapped onto his hip however. It was a comfort thing. Once outside he set up different items for her to shoot at. Today he would only be teaching her the basics of both wielding a bow and a knife. Though if she changed her mind than he would have to accommodate accordingly. He would also have to give her some trouble. He hadn't done that in a while now had he...

She knew it was a test and she had failed it. She gawked at Ramzan when he showed her a whole wall of weapons and she looked at the bow she still held in her hand. Or was this the test that he was giving her, make her think that she chose wrong to begin with. "Ram...." she started to call and then he pulled out a knife that her eyes fixed on. It was beautiful and the light that shone off it just pulled at her. She held out her hand and then her hand rested on the handle of the blade. It felt right to be in her hands and she couldn't wait to start training with it. She looked up at the last moment as Ramzan walked out of the room. She still had something to say to him but she kept her mouth shut and looked back at the bow.
She wasn't going to let him think that she was wrong. She liked the wait of the bow, the way it curved and if she every had to use it that meant that she would be out of some of the harms way. It was perfect in her mind so she took the quiver of bows and the bow while holding the knife in her other hand. Isis made her way outside where Ramzan told her to meet him. "I have chosen" she told him with confidence in her voice.

He had heard her begin to call out his name as he left but Ramzan had ignored it. Her test here was to be confident in her own choices. She should not rely on others to make the choices for her. This was a good lesson that any future ruler should know. Listen to advice but choose what you believe is best. Do not be swayed and always be confident in yourself.
He looked up when Isis announced that she had chosen. He nodded and picked up his own bow. "Come here and copy me." Ramzan commanded and pointed next to himself. So he stood with his posture perfect and his feet distanced appropriately. He held up his arms with his bow. He looked as if he was posing for a picture but she needed to be able to stand right or else she might hurt herself. He didn't draw his bowstring back yet at he wanted to show her that separately.Once she stood he would have to inspect her stature and then he would teach her the proper way to pull a bowstring back without hurting it or yourself.

Isis watching him and followed his instructions. She stood her spot next to Ramzan and watched his every moment and detail. She noted his foot placement and his heads, even the way that he held his bow. Once she felt confident that she had the right posture she stood in almost exactly the same way as Ramzan. Her hands at her sides and the bow rested against her leg. She turned to look at Ramzan one more time to make sure that she hadn't missed anything that he showed her. She still wasn't too sure why she had to learn to use a weapon and it felt foreign to her hands but if this is what Ramzan was going to teach her she would take it though she really wanted to get back to all those scrolls in her room.

Ramzan stood down and observed Isis's pose. It was almost correct and he must say he was somewhat proud that she had gotten it this close to perfect on her first try. He touched her lower back and her collar bone right underneath of her neck and pushed both, arching her back a little more and straitening out the top. He also nudged her right foot to a better suited angle. "Very good for your first try now memorize how that feels but do not move." Ramzan than commented and gave her a bit of time to get a feel for the positioning.
He than stood next to her again, in the same position, though this time he showed her how to hold the bow out in front of her. He gave her time to notice and position her arms and bow accordingly before standing down once more to observe her positioning. At this point, being in such close proximity with a woman he tried his damnedest to not discriminate, keeping his eyes on only appropriate body parts. He gently took her shoulders and rolled them back some before going in front of her to take a look at how she held her bow. Ramzan tried not to think about the fact that she was a woman. Very rarely had he ever been given a woman as a student in fact she was only his second. After all he was only a man at this point in his life and even the gods succumbed to the pleasures of the flesh. But Ramzan refused to look at her as how she truly was. His judgment was not to be clouded and he had learned amazing self control throughout his life. It also helped that he had a cynical and sardonic nature. He tended to push people away from him with his insults.

To her the stance was perfect but he tweaked it a little and it felt awkward but she let him do it anyways. In her mind there was nothing wrong with him physically moving her body into the perfect position however her body had other ideas. She had never been touched by another human being, not even her father would hug her or give her a kiss goodnight. The simply touches that Ramzan had done had started to turn her mind just a little. She focused in front of her telling herself that he was doing his job nothing more. But still as he touched her something started to change even if she didn't quiet know it yet.
Next she positioned her arms just as he had showed her but did not pull on the string of the bow. She was actually scared to do that even though she didn't have an arrow in the catch. She took a deep breath closing her eyes as her body got use to the feeling of the bow in her hand. If anyone had asked her she would have told them that it felt right to wield a weapon, even as princess she felt now that it was necessary for her to learn such a trade. Once she felt comfortable enough she opened her eyes and look at Ramzan as her simplistic feelings of caring for him left her. She was learning, training and doing her job just as he was. Nothing more, nothing less.

"Very good your arm stance is almost perfect. Once you begin to build up more arm strength it will improve. I had assumed as much though. Being a princess means you wouldn't have to do a day of work in your life." He smirked at this and then pushed her arms down gently to signal her that he was to show her something different. "This is how you should pull on the string. Make sure it feels right though. To hard and it will snap. To soft and it will not budge." This was something that she could really only learn by herself but he tried to give her basic advice to help her in the long run. After this he would have her attempt to shoot an arrow for a little but and then it would be break time. Getting a drink and then on to the knife work.
He waited for her to test out the strength of her bow string. He only had to use a little bit of his strength but he might have to assign her workouts for her arms. He was going to have her do laps around the house tomorrow though he had to be careful because of the heat.

When he pushed her arms down she got a little mad, he could have just told her to do that but no he had to be forceful "It's my birth right" she snapped at him. Now he was harping on her because her birth gave her rights that others did not. In her mind she was not at fault for what her father gave her and told her what she could and couldn't do. But that was still no reason for Ramzan to point it out like that. She was now mad and that made it harder for her to concentrate but none the less she looked at him and listened when he talked about the string on the bow.
Then she turned her own attention to her bow and studied the string for a minute. He made it look so easy and when she placed her fingers on the bow she could feel how tight it was but that didn't bother her. She then gentle wrapped her fingers around the string and pulled on it gently to get a feel for it. It hardly budged under her grip and she relaxed her fingers. Now she had to do more studying of the string. She sat how it was attached and where the weak points were. She placed her fingers back on the string and pulled with more force then the first time and it went further now but still not where it should have been. She relaxed the string and looked at him.

"It may be your birth right but from now on you are to not think that way. From now on you will work for the people and sometimes that will require you to be put in uncomfortable positions but do not fret the reward for giving it much greater than the reward of receiving." He practically sneered out the beginning but after that he spoke in a strong voice and he was being quite serious. It was a lesson that she had to learn whether it be the easy way or not. When Pharaoh she will have to think from the peoples point of view and also before that as high priestess she will be living among the people or if she chose not to than his teaching would have been a failure.
He watched her explore the bow string and smiled as she did it properly instead of impatiently like some he had seen before. "Good now shoot and arrow at that sack from... Here" He stood and pointed with he foot on the spot where she should try from. It was pretty close to the sacks he had set up but she needed to get a feel. Every day she would take two steps back but he wasn't going to tell her that quite yet.
