The stench of the dead soaked into Maresol’s clothes, the rancid blood mingling with the stains of her own blood on her torn clothes. She stared unblinkingly off into space, fighting back a gag as the cart carrying her presumably dead body jostled and sent a corpse of a prisoner on top of her. The man smelled of sweat and excrement, not an uncommon smell for this horrid prison. It was the only one built on the island of San Juan, buried deep within the walls of a spanish fort set to protect the island. The prison was a dark place, full of disease, filth, and torment. You were forgotten there, treated no better than the sewer rats. She had been there for months now, wasting away into nothing as she awaited trail. An officer said it was because they had qualms over killing a woman. They certainly had no problem shooting her when a prison mutiny broke out. She wasn’t even one of the ones that began the stupid attack on the guards. She had just been in the wrong place at the wrong time, which wasn’t hard in such a confined cell that was full of people. However, no matter how much getting shot sucked, it at least afforded her another chance at life and now freedom. Though it came with making a deal with an odd stranger, she awoke on this cart for the dead being dragged away from her cell, no longer bleeding or even feeling pain. She didn’t have time to question it, only to escape. She lay perfectly still, no matter the horrid stench or the talk of the guards above her. She could hear the large wood doors opening to the outer courtyard and she knew she was close to the outside…They would dump the bodies in the ocean no doubt, then she could make her escape… She heard the cart transition from slick uneven stone to cobble and from beneath the coverage of the deadman she could see the night sky above her. She hadn’t seen stars in months, hadn’t seen sunlight in even longer. It tugged at her heart when over the sound of the cart and chatter of guards she could hear the sound of the waves. She was so close to freedom! She waited patiently, but began to feel uneasy when a smell began to overpower the stench of the dead. Was that…smoke? She paused, trying to listen to the Spanish officers above her that were pulling the cart. These are the dead from earlier’s fight, they said, can’t do anything with them. She heard one grunt and the other sounded concerned as he babbled of disease. That was what the fire was for, the other replied, to burn away the diseased bodies and prevent infecting the water supply…She tensed, her eyes widening at the news that they had changed procedure. They were going to burn her alive if she didn’t escape soon…She felt the cart slam to a halt and she could smell the smoke was thicker now, a massive heat radiating from nearby and permeating the wood. Soon the bodies began to clear out one by one, their bodies making crackling and thumps on the fire that made Maresol’s stomach churn. She still laid still, holding her breath as the body from above her was pulled away. She could see the pair of soldiers handling the dead detail now, their faces as young as hers and their expressions grim and disgusted. One paused to look at her, his face falling some in a certain sorrow. “There’s something not right about killing a woman like this. It’s a shame she was left here like this…looks like my sister honestly.” He said which made the other soldier scowl. “It was a pirate. One that probably raided hundreds of our ships and killed our men. She’s no better than a devil’s whore. How can you have sympathy for them?” She felt an annoyance burning in her, such that her brows furrowed unconsciously at the words. The movement made the soldier staring at her blink and lean in a bit closer to get a better look. She knew she had little time to act and so she made a daring choice. She threw herself forward, head butting the man in the face. The movement knocked the man over the cart and startled the other soldier so bad he couldn’t get to his gun fast enough. She hopped out of the cart, sprinting for the nearest hallway she could find. Shouts and shots fired behind her, making her very aware that this place was full of armed guards that wouldn’t hesitate to shoot her on sight. She had to make this count and every second was vital. She dodged passing soldiers in dark corridors and stuck to the shadows till she was in another courtyard close to the outer perimeter of the fort. She threw herself into nearby door, bursting it open to find a few soldiers cleaning their rapiers. Mares used the surprise of the moment to head for the stairwell leading up to the ramparts, knocking over a large shelf of ammunition in her wake to block their path. She knocked open a trap door that lead to the top of the wall and crawled her way into the open air. After catching her balance and taking off into a sprint for the nearest side. She heard foot fall gaining behind her, the soldiers already stationed on the ramparts catching up to her quickly. She made it to one of the outcroppings of the wall, finding an open space for canons that was big enough for her to fit. The problem was that the drop was quite a few stories and over tumultuous ocean waves that crashed against the cliffs. If the rocks didn’t kill her, the fall would, or lord knows what was beneath those waves. She looked back to find she was faced with a line of muskets, a man sauntering to the head of the line that looked smug as he was decorated in that overrated officer’s garb. “Senorita, there is no where to run. If you step away from the wall, I swear you will be handled fairly.” Maresol glared at the man, taking a step back so that her bare heels hung over the edge. The man looked a bit worried, though it was masked with a certain frustration quickly. “That fall will kill you. Step away and face trail like an honorable woman in the light of God.” She gave the man a harsh snicker, her eyes narrowing some in humor. “Captain I would take you up on that offer…but I would rather die a free woman than stay in that cell any longer.” She gave him a sarcastic wave before she turned and threw herself over the side. Shots rang out and she felt one catch her shoulder, but she paid it no mind. She simply held her eyes shut and waited to feel the embrace of the sea again. ~~~ Maresol stood in the large group of men forming, struggling to get in place to see the handing out positions within his crew. She could see men being signed on left and right from beneath the brim of her hat, her eyes wide with excitement and anticipation of being handed a free passage. She only needed a ship and a crew, the rest would be easy. Then it was a quick mutiny here and a promise of measure beyond the crews wildest dreams there and she would have a ship again. And a new adventure to pursue… “Tell me again why we are associating with this rabble?” A male voice hissed in spanish in her ear made Maresol glance over, her look hardly warm despite recognizing the voice. He was well disguised as a common dock worker, though she knew it killed the man to be out of his riches. He was a vain idiot…something she couldn’t stand but had to tolerate. She did have a contract with him. The contract was by no means clear, or even completely straightforward on what she owed him in return for restoring her life. She only knew that he wanted some amazing treasure, one that he needed her to find. She wasn’t sure why exactly he needed her. She was a pirate and he was some type of sorcerer. She had seen it with her own eyes that this wasn’t some tall talk or ruse to manipulate her. He had used dark magic to conjure things she couldn’t quite understand and saved heir asses a few times with his mind tricks to keep them out of trouble. He was useful, despite him being an annoyance to her. “Do you have any better ideas Ale? WE have no ship, no crew, and few options. How do you expect to get your precious treasure without that?” She snipped, her attention going back to the captain that was surveying the potential crew before him. Maresol heard Alejandro scoff, whispering in his usual high and mighty tone, “Whatever. But I still don’t get why we have to look like this?” She looked down at herself and had to stifle a roll of her eyes. She was currently disguised in ratty dock workers clothes that hid her frame, her chest wrapped, and her hair pinned away beneath a hat to hide her gender. It was silly really, but pirates were a superstitious lot that believed women were bad omens on the ocean. Hiding out on a ship as a pretty faced young man was her only option to quickly getting on board. Just a little dirt smudged on her face and an attempt at lowering her voice made for a decent disguise, though she was sure if someone were to really pay her a lot of attention they would see through it. “They would skin you alive in your highborn clothing and they think women are bad omens for sailing. I need on a ship Ale—“ “You there!” She tensed when the group of men parted a little so that the pacing captain could see her. She swallowed hard and made her way with a bit of hesitance to the front. The captain stopped in front of her, getting a bit too far into her personal space. She stood her ground however, ignoring the stink of rum on his breath that made her eyes want to water. “You’re a baby faced lad. What business do you have here?” She straightened, her eyes narrowing some in obstinance. “I am here to join your crew. I am a fine sailor and I can handle my own with a sword. Anyone would be a fool not to take me on to their crew.” She said in slightly accented english, her words confident and clear for the man to hear. There was a long pause before the captain erupted into a laugh that got the other men in the group going in taunts and jeerz. “You a sailor?! Go back to your mother boy. This be mans work and would crush a scrawny lad like you.” She tensed, looking briefly livid like she might punch the man, but Alejandro caught her fist before it could be swung. “Come along, Marcus. We have no time for the daft.” He warned, pulling Maresol away by the collar of her shirt. She cursed at him in spanish, her temper flaring as he dismissively pulled her along. She yanked against his hold, taking her seat on a set of barrels near a ship. “This is ridiculous. I’ve never had an issue with a crew before.” She hissed, getting a roll of the eyes from Alejandro. “Yes but you also had help from that Captain friend of yours who was well respected—well by everyone that didn’t take a stab at him while he slept.” Her eyes averted at mention of old Thomas, her chest clenching in a painful throb of her heart. She missed the old man dearly, since he was the father she never had. He would have skinned those men alive for laughing at her, or at least never have seen her thrown into that prison or had her life contracted with a sea witch...She gave a heavy sigh before pulling a small leather book from her pocket, one tattered and looking older than she was. She flipped it open, marveling at the detailed notes and script there, the sketches that were so detailed they seemed like mirrors of the real things. Especially the map that was on a folded piece of parchment. Suddenly a hand went over her's quickly snatching the book from her grasps. "Are you daft? Don't go flashing that to everyone. It's extremely valuable!" Alejandro scolded, shoving the book into her pocket once more. He had given her the book since it contained valuable information on there treasure they sought. Even now she hardly understood exactly what it was, only that there was a lot of it scattered across the seas. She knew she wasn't the only one out looking for treasure and Alejandro had said pieces of it and surfaced and were being heralded as valuable finds for the taking, if one was so bold. Maresol was never one to turn down adventure, but even she had reserves about seeking this treasure for the sea witch. He was hardly a good person and she could sense he was so obsessed with finding these pieces of the whole...She was just along for the journey however, not there to question his morals. That would get her no where with Alejandro anyways.

Frilly dress about her ankles she twirled in it in front of the mirror with a wide smile as she knew what she had planned for today. Annaliese was excited- she was going to get her hands on a real man-a Man of War that is. The one she was marrying for her ship had no idea what was planned- hell most the guests didn't even know- well her own crew did- and they were well paid for it. She let a giggle slip her lips as she heard a knock on her cabin door- making her turn to look to see her brother looking nervous in his dress uniform. The red was a good contrast with his pretty green eyes look vibrant. He was wearing his officers jacket- and a few new metals as his newly appointed rank, she was so proud. “Kole? Whats going on?” She asked in a shy voice almost not in her character since she had changed a lot over the years- not that he honestly noticed since she always acted this way with him. “Annaliese- are you sure you want to get married to this man? I mean he isn't much on the eyes and I know you don't like being tied down.” He said since he knew her that much. She used to scream at him when she confined her to the house for her behavior. Annaliese gave him a coy look before a smile slipped onto her lips. “I do want to marry this man brother. But between you and I- he isn't much to look at. I don't mind he will serve his purpose.” She said with a smile giving his face a soft touch. A women in the room gave her a blushed look at the interaction that was almost intimate between the siblings before fluttering out her dress more ignoring them. “Purpose? What in the world-” He began to ask before there was another knock on the door and another woman- one more ship worthy- her skin sun kissed and sandy blonde hair, freckles galore came in and gave the man a disapproving look. “Its time miss.” She stated letting her know it was time to start the plan. “Very well- please escort my brother to his post.” She stated having already explain that everyone but him was to be thrown from the ship- all but the crew- her crew that was. She primped a bit more before heading top side and the double doors to the captain's quarters' opened and out she came her brother there to escort her he however had a smile on his face that his sister was actually getting married and had to look decent. Their father would be pleased at least, he just wished it to was to a better man.
The wedding was going as planned, the very priest who had beat her with a book and a whip was giving the sermon for her, she gave him only the sweetest of smiles. The man who gave the orders was there holding her hand- waiting to become her husband. Everything was going to plan. “And do you Annaliese Everleigh Vaux take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband? For richer or poorer? Sickness and in health? Till death do you part?” Asked the holy man. She turned to give him a soft smile before turning back to the commander. “I do.” She said with an expression of almost excitement. “Then I now pronounce you man and wife!” Said the holy man however that wasn't until she spoke again. “And I will never forget the night you beat me mercilessly for some one elses crime and you who ordered it!” She screamed a them. The holy man's eyes went wide in remembrance, feeling a sudden sharp pain in his gut, a knife there from the woman. Her husband was shot in the chest four times from her pistol she had been carrying under her dress. “Very well you heard the man- time to leave me and my husband alone for the evening!” She announced with a frenzied look- looking pleased with the blood on her face, her white dress ruined. Her brother moved to get a hold on her to figure out what the hell she had just done however the crew had come out of the wood works and rope lines and started throwing people over board- slitting throats if needed if they struggled- they were all to be thrown but her brother. She herself threw her husband over board- shoving his body was easy- the priest himself stumbled over. The quarter deck was silent as the ship was now empty but her crew her brother was looking at her like she had lost her mind as she worked her way out of the dress she was in there on the deck- her slip a little sheer but she didn't mind before she threw the dress over board, finding it too frilly and she knew the blood wouldn't ever come out. Moving herself to the Sterncastle deck she stood by the woman from before who was taking them from the port. “Where to captain?” She asked getting a smile from her, taking the hat that was on the floor- some blood on it but she patted it dry before putting it on. “Any port we can get some thing to wet our whistles and perhaps some women for the men- and some more men to man this beast.” She stated with a smile getting a nod from the woman who turned to a Spanish port- well it was in Spanish control but it wasn't really. She went into the cabin and started rummaging for the dress she had packed for this slipping into it before she heard the door open and close behind her- her brother looking sheet white still standing there awkwardly. “Kole, don't look so down. I got the man of my dreams now.” Her brother was silent a few moments before he spoke.“A ship? You killed that many people for a ship?!” He started speaking softly but it seemed his anger got to him when he spoke of the injustice. “I did. I enjoyed it too. They had punished me falsely and took no pity on me. I did the same. Come now- don't give me that look. I'm still your little sister.” She said in a way that she knew would get to him- perhaps calm him down a bit. “You just killed your husband, and a holy man! How can you be so calm?!” He exclaimed getting her to frown a bit. “Have a drink Kole, You need to relax a bit. The man did say death do us part. I was only agreeing with that. Besides my vows were to my ship- not that idiot.” She said getting an almost mirthless laugh out of her brother who was indeed uncorking a bottle that was on her table. It was scattered with congratulations letters and gifts that she was going to enjoy however alone. Taking a swig he turned his frown back to his younger sister. “I still don't see how this all happened?” He more or less was asking how long she had been planning this little killing spree. “Years in planning.” She commented quietly before she adjusted her corset and her headband to make sure it was on just right. She liked looking pretty and she was good at it. “Years? How long have you suffered with this and never asked me for help?” He asked her feeling sad now that his sister wouldn't come to him with her problems. “It wouldn't have helped you. You needed to advance in the military as you wished. I was helping you out- now you will help me out. I want something more out of life, we are now all branded pirates- so why to live it up dear brother.” She stated before turning to look at him. Moving over to him she went and sat on the air of the chair he was sitting in and gave him a hug, her head resting on his softly, she leaned over and gave his forehead a kiss. “I love you brother, that is why you are here. To stay with me- always.” She said in a soft manner, overly caring for her brother.
“What the hell do you mean we don't have docking privileges?!” She screamed at the harbor master who was cringing at her shrill voice. “Your ship is too large for the port, I'm sorry miss. You can come a shore but you must do so by row boat.” he said in a matter of fact tone but left her be for another man behind her. With a scowl she pushed out to find her brother there looking worried that she was angry again- wondering who was going to die next. On the way there seven men had been killed for trying to take over the ship and she made it very clear she could pick some one off from the bowstrip to the Mizzen mast. The ship length gave them no advantage- she was a dead shot. They were short on people to run the ship so she needed this stop. With a huff she took to the tavern getting herself a bottle of rum and took the cork out with her teeth about to drink it before her brother took it from her and handed it back to the bar men asking for something stronger- and probably cleaner. A scowl on her lips she waited till her brother gave her a bottle of run that didn't look like it was dug out of the ground. She took a swig of it before passing it back to her brother who took a drink, he was getting odd looks however being in a British officers jacket and his sister in a dress. She was sitting lady like but acting not so lady like. “Ship is too big to dock my ass Bloody man just didn't want to let me dock cause I'm a woman.” She spat the words before taking the bottle from her brother again and taking a swig. Kole gave a sigh, knowing this would let his sister calm down. “We have the row boats we are fine, besides your not even the one rowing.” he stated to her letting her know he was the one who had been doing such, the comment got him a smirk however. He got up leaving her to drink before asking around a bit on where to get sailors hearing it was back at the dock yards. He took his sister by the arm and dragged her off- throwing a silver piece to the bar men for the bottle and left back to the docking yards. The Man of War in the distance just outside of the harbor was visible and was putting people on edge however it was intimidating- he knew his sister loved the silly thing- even the name Her Majesties' Grace. “I'm looking for capable sailors who know their way around a war ship- not just a fishing vessel.” Kole called to a man who was getting things organized. “Down to the south docks with ya- I'm sure there are plenty left for ya.” Called the man before he turned and walked with his sister. “We go here, get some men call it a day.” He said with a smile knowing this wasn't going to be that simple. He had left the papers for signing on on board the ship having written them up on the way there for his little sister. Annaliese nodded and followed along but she proudly wore her hat as captain. Passing men who were too drunk to hold much water to float she pushed a few off the board walk who got in her way to flirt. She wasn't even close to interested. However a rumor had started circulating about a high jacked British ship that a husband catered to his pirate wife- so it was to be known in the port- however Kole disapproved the rumor based on the fact that the 'pirate wife' was his sister. A few whispers were passed by her and she smiled coyly up at her brother as they approached the dock specified, looking around she spotted a few people who could be promising. “Greetings!” She called loudly from the speaker box with a smile, her voice sweet sounding. “We are looking for some more loyal crewmen. Any looking for a lucrative position on a Man of War?” She called with a sly look however she got a few odd looks, before her brother stepped forward. “We need war ready men, If you are caught disloyal don't think I won't hesitate to kill you and throw your asses over board.” He said in a confident voice getting a few calls from a few men who were willing to play hard ball. He cast his eyes around knowing they needed a few for the rat lines as well- younger would work since ship rats were often smaller men. Kole just hoped they found enough men at this port.

"If this is your luck with finding a crew, then I suggest we move on to my plan." Alejandro said, his tone dismissive and hardly confident in her. Maresol wasn't pleased with him in the slightest, especially since they had been on this dock for hours now. They bounced from ship to ship, crew station to crew station, but none seemed fit enough to really contract. Most of the ships were privateers, which she refused to work for, and the ones that were true black flags were only looking for brutes or slaves. Hard work was not beneath her, but not to piss poor captains and even shoddier men. She needed a strong vessel to hunt down these traitors and to pay her debt. Only the truly capable captains had ships worthy enough the taking...But it seemed this port was not full of reputable pirates. Thomas wouldn't have recruited here, but she had little choice than to look for work here. After she washed up on shore to the nearby island, she had to take at least a month off of healing and tending to herself. It wasn't long after that Alejandro found her again and stated who he was and that he was there to complete their contract. That began their rocky alliance, which was wearing thin now due to their lack of progress. She turned her gaze to him, her look proud and resolved despite the sea witch's harsh criticism of her plan. "You contracted me to get this treasure for you. So shut it and let my plan work." Alejandro's brow quirked, his expression darkening some. "I contracted you for results and instead I am in rags, no ship and no treasure in my hands. I could have conjured up a crew faster than this, taken the mind of a captain who would do the dirty work for me--" "Yes, but I have seen how your magic works. It wears off and as you said, each ounce of it is precious. It could take months to find all the pieces of the treasure. If you go wasting it on quick fixes to your problems then we will be up shit creak with no paddle. Instead, we get on a ship. Sail about for a bit, turn the crew on the captain and take the ship for ourselves. With your power and my steel we can secure a ship grander than these piss poor dinghies. Stick with me and we will have your treasure." Alejandro mulled over her answer, not looking happy to be talked down to, but he saw her point. He gave her a smirk in response instead of his anger. This girl knew he would kill men for less for talking to him like this, but he needed her. Whether she knew it or not her life was important. "That's a big promise." He said sarcastically, making Maresol give him a frown. "I bet my life on it." She replied, though her voice softened some at the answer. Maresol's head lifted at a call coming from nearby, her eyes finding a crowd forming nearby. Most looked curious and others looked like they were stunned. By the sound of the voice, she could tell why. "A woman?" Alejandro said and Maresol's eyes widened some. She got to her feet and hurried over to the crowd, merging with it with Alejandro in tow. They made their way to the head of the group, finding a woman there on the call box and a man in british regalia red at her side. Maresol heard the murmurs around the crowd, something about this being a couple and that they were stupid to let a woman run a ship. It seemed when the man spoke, more men stepped forward, something Maresol expected, but didn't like. This woman seemed capable, if not for her frill and finery there. She was obviously a proud woman, else she would have let her husband or first mate do all the talking. When mention of a Man-of-War came over the crowd, Maresol's mouth fell open slightly. She was joking right? A prize warship of the British that was the envy of the Spanish armada and a pirates worst nightmare in open waters. She had only seen one when she was young and even then it was from a passing direction in a british port. How was it this small woman and that man could have stolen something that big? The idea was fantastical and hardly seemed logical, but Maresol digressed. That didn't matter since they wouldn't have it for much longer if she had anything to do with it. She glanced at Alejandro, who was watching the situation carefully, a small knowing smirk pulling at his lips. "I like her." He said in Spanish to Maresol, who looked similarly intrigued. "Her? I like her ship...it's perfect." She said back in their native tongue before the two made eye contact. They gave a swift nod before stepping forward, joining the rest of the men that came forward at the promise of adventure and a good ship to work on. The threat against mutiny made Maresol's expression smooth, but didn't deter her. She obviously had Lady Luck on her side after surviving all that she had...

Kole had to admit his sister got her way in everything, not that he minded spoiling her any. They got a good amount of men however it would take a few turns from dock to stern side to get them there. He traveled back with her first to inform the left over privateers that she had hired and they had grown to like her ruthless style. They sent a few back to collect the rest and she readied things in her office there on the main deck, her first mate- a woman on her right and her brother there on her left. Annaliese had gotten to know this woman very well and trusted her pretty well however both knew the other wouldn't dare stab them in the back- else they would tell the other first- so at least they were honest. As they came on board they were searched, more for weapons and the like however they were simply recorded what they had, nothing was taken. Standing up on a rather large crate Annaliese smiled at the large group- it would suit perfectly if it didn't she would kill them and throw their corpses into the sea. "Greetings everyone. I'm sure your going to love your new ship- quarters are two men a room bellow- the British at least had the decency to give a sailor some privacy. Get familiar with things, and who is in charge. I am your captain. This is my first mate." She pointed from herself to the woman beside her then looked to her brother. "And this is what you could call my enforcer. I have a very simply code for you to live by." She began with a smile that looked pretty and genuine however she turned to a more dark expression when she began with the first mark. "First: If you cross me- I will kill you. No questions asked, no hesitation. There will be no trial there will only be execution. Second: If you plan to over throw me and take my beautiful ship from you- I will put a swift end to that with a shot to the head. Then your conspirators will get the same. This is my ship- I don't like games and I don't like liars. Three: When we are at port- do what ever ya damned well please just report back before we leave- else we will leave your asses." She stated but the others were self explanitory about how a basic pirate on a very sophisticated frigate would be. Easy to follow and if you followed the rules- you would be very well paid. "Now when you made up your mind, step forward and sign if you can't write sigh in blood, I play for keep gentlemen- lets not get things twisted." She said taking a jump down and heading into her cabin to rest leaving her first and brother to sign people. Kole heard his his sister's speech and it was a good one it even offered her some intimidation. He took a seat and began signing in the men only three decided they couldn't work on that so they departed.

Maresol and Alejandro arrived on the deck of the ship, Maresol looking like a kid in a candy store while Alejandro got a read on the area. He could smell the blood here and sensed the death nearby. It was subtle and unexpected. Seems this woman captain was much more ruthless than she appeared. As they were checked for objects, Alejandro did well to explain the notebook he had as a personal journal, something the crew member snickered at before shoving it back into Alejandro's hands. Maresol was forced to show the sword she carried though it was cheaply made and hardly something to fret over. She would get something better soon. She followed to the area where they gave the announcements, finding the woman was back to explaining things. She sized up the group, especially the captains first and second who looked quite capable. The captain herself, Seems she had a way of speaking that captured the attention of everyone there. Or at least that was what she observed, seeing as the men in the group listened to her. That could be because of her wit, her commanding presence, or her pretty face. Whatever it was, Maresol admired her in a way. She was a strong woman that had another strong woman at her side and put her man in his place. She wasn't a damsel and used her looks to her advantage. To Maresol, this was someone she could get behind. That is if her plan didn't dictate something else. The rules seemed to be centered around mutiny and betrayal, something she expected and knew better than challenge. But her proper sense wasn't working at the moment...Besides, what did she have to fear from death again? The crew gave answers of affirming before lining up to sign her contracts. Maresol separated from Alejandro, since it looked suspicious to stay together, and went over to the signing table. She hadn't ever seen actual documents before, especially on a ship that wasn't sailed by a navy. Most was done by oath and word, or those that she had seen. But this was an interesting set, something she was willing to go for. She went over to the table, picking up the pen and giving the paper a look over. She wasn't kidding when the woman said she played for keeps. This was signing away your life. She looked up at the man there, a slight smile coming to her lips. "This is the first time I've ever been asked to sign my service...I think I'm going to like it here." She said before signing away her alias, Markus Arlington, in a swirling script that seemed very refined for just a common dock worker. She began heading to where the others were descending into the ship. She was going down the stairs when she felt someone tug her hat down over her eyes, making her whirl around to find Alejandro giving her an impish look. "Still thinking about stealing a ship with the threat of getting shot?" He asked, making her glare at him. "Maybe. But not now. We need more time to scope out what is going on...maybe they could be of use?" She said, making Alejandro roll his eyes. "Don't tell me you are getting soft? Maybe its admiration? I saw the way you looked all starry eyed at our captain." He joked and she gave him an annoyed frown. "She's impressive. You can't blame me for admiring that she's commanding a ship like this." She pushed past him, going down into the hull of the ship to find her quarters that she would no doubt have to share with Alejandro.

Kole watched as they all signed giving them all a hard look over before mentally deciding duties. He jotted his notes down in the order the men signed so he would remember however he wasn't too sure about how this Markus signed his things- much too feminine but he didn't know this boy so he couldn't say much just mention it perhaps. He did however send Samantha to go dictate rooms for the new men. Only the most loyal got a room close to the important things. When a younger boy came forwards with an older looking dock hand in what appeared to be rags if not slightly better she frowned. "I'm guessing your bunking- This will be ya rooms- there are better clothes in there for ye'. Weapons can be found in the storage locker under ye beds. They stay in there unless we are in open waters with floaters. Can't get caught with our knickers down now can we?" She said with a bit of a smirk before moving on to the next group making them split off into a few different groups since they were a little lost. Fox was in the crows next watching everything from where she was, making sure things went well and no one did anything suspicious. She had weapon on her at all times since she couldn't function with out them, she was of course a look out in her little nest there however she was also very superstitious of things with the sea. She believed the Kracken was real and that sirens were available to sing your ship to sing. most thought her silly but she was part sea witch so she knew these things were true- they didn't have to believe her- she knew the truth. Today they were getting a new crew- and one really made her pay attention- an older man, looking poor but he felt funny to the sight. Her gut telling her he was much more then he was, mostly with how he moved and surveyed the area. She would find him later and ask him, she just needed to get permission from the Captain to leave her post first.

Alejandro and Maresol approached the woman barking out room assignments, finding that they indeed were going to be sharing one. The news of fresh clothes and weapons made Maresol perk up a bit, especially since she wanted to get a look at the weapons. "No we can't have that...thanks." Maresol said, before heading past her for the room in a bit of a hurry to get a look at things. She had never been below a deck so spacious after all and she was sure this beast had decent room sizes. As for Ale, Alejandro was more than happy to be out of the rags though he was sure it was not the finery he was used to. He gave this first mate woman a small nod of thanks before following after Maresol. He ducked into the room that had rather low door frames, finding their room was a bit larger than a broom closet and held two cots in it with clothes on the bed and these so called storage lockers. While Maresol fretted with the box under her bed, Alejandro went about scoping out the clothing. He gave a sneer at the poor quality, his eyes narrowing some as a string of curses in an ancient tongue floated from his lips. He willed his power at the shirt at the very least, causing the white cotton to stain a more crimson red that he preferred. He began pulling off his clothes, getting his pants half way down when Maresol made a noise of disgust. He looked over his shoulder to find her with her word in hand, blocking her eyes of Alejandro's naked frame. He smirked at the pink in her cheeks before a full on laugh bubbled from his lips. "Hell, Ale. Can't you wait until I'm out of the room?!" She hissed, making him give her an almost saucy look. "Oh please, Maresol. If you want to survive this place as a man you're going to have to be comfortable with seeing us naked." He said, before stripping further and throwing on the new clothes. He took to the bed with a heavy sigh, stretching out on the uncomfortable mat with some grace. It was by no means perfect, but it beat sleeping on the floor of a jail cell...Maresol gave him a frown of distaste before she tuned her back to him and pulled off her hat and her shirt. She felt his eyes on her, though she ignored it in favor of making sure the bandages hiding her breasts were secure. The look of his skin led her to focus on the scars there, especially the deep ones that were from her recent death and then sudden revival. She swallowed hard, ignoring her feeling of dread and quickly pulled on her shirt and pants. After changing she looked to the sword, her lips pulling into a bright smile at it. It was british steel and perfectly crafted. She gave it a test swing, accidentally stabbing the door. Alejandro clapped from his place on the bed sarcastically, drawing a glare from her.

Fox scurried down the rigging and down to the Quarterdeck, getting a few disgruntled looks at how fast she was on the thin lines above their heads and who quiet she was. For a girl who was in the sun all day she was paper white with dark black hair, her eyes a little shrunk in from sleepless nights but she looked healthy other wise. She slinked along the deck and into the Captain's quarters getting a look from Annaliese as she came in. "Can I help you with something Fox?" She asked wondering what she needed. The girl usually stayed in her little nest up there and only reported odd things but usually it was at night- not during the day. "Nothing to really help with just wanted to know if I could go meet the new crew? Curious- was curious about new ones- looked exciting from above." She said a little scatter minded but in tact. "Curious? When you get curious I start getting worried- is there something to be worried about Fox?" Annaliese asked in a firm tone getting a shake of Fox's head. "Not yet. Wanna look around, get a feel for them all- then I can tell for sure." She said letting her know exactly that she had a feeling but wasn't sure so she wanted to make damned good and sure about things before it cost some one their life. She had learned that lesson, having commented about something got a man shot in the head with in a few hours of opening her mouth so she learned that Annaliese wasn't one for jokes or games. ------------ Kole finished the signing and came into the cabin as Fox was leaving getting a nod in greeting from him. He glanced over at his sister, getting a smile from her since she was happy to see him. "Ello love. Are you done making notes on our new associate?" She asked about the new crew since he was always on with his ordered lists and what not. She usually didn't care for them since she was more of a spur of the moment kind of gal but she loved her brother so she would put up with his lists. "I have finished it, I've even got a pretty good idea on who will go where on the ship- if any where." He said with a smile since he liked the idea of having things in order. She gave him a nod," Alright, anything I should be worried about?" She asked a bit quieter since she had a feeling he was thinking about something. "Nothing really, just a few odds and ends, perhaps some banished nobles or what have you. Some hand writing doesn't match, some have too obvious names- meaning fake ones, and some just looked shady. We will have to watch a few of them for a while and get a feel for them." He said since it was true he was a little judgmental but he would get over it with being slightly new to being a privateer. She gave him a nod since he was speaking the truth, she loved that about her brother- he never lied to her and coddled her all the same.

Maresol walked from the room after she changed since she felt like getting a look at the ship. She hadn't been on a ship in a few years and she missed it more than she could stand. For the first days away from her prison, it was almost impossible to tear her away from the ocean. Now she never intended to be apart from it long again. She took to the main deck of the ship, watching the men that were already assigned on board work their ways on getting her ready to set sail. She was a beautiful vessel indeed and Maresol couldn't wait to have ahold of her. She hurried to front of the ship, quickly taking a line from a passing sailor that looked to be burly in his size. He looked unconvinced of her height and size, but she gave him an obstinate look strong enough to show she could handle herself. They were begining to prepare the sails and she always used to help the crew when she wasn't barking orders. After doing what she could till she was scolded away by a senior crew member for being 'out of her station' she took to the side of the ship, peering out at the port and at the town there. She felt no draw to this place, but it was strange to find herself there, alive and headed out on her next adventure. It felt so right and so perfect, but there was hesitation within her. If she didn't do this correctly, she could end up dead again, no where close to where she wanted to be...She shook poor thoughts from her mind, knowing she needed to be resolved if she ever wanted to be successful. ~~~ Alejandro let the little maid leave, taking to his own travels aboard the ship to get a look at what he was working with. The air on this ship was thick with an almost electric energy that told of its proud and dirtied past. He had already sensed the harsh emotions on the deck of the ship, ones that held tales of perhaps how this ship came to be in her possession. He wanted to know everything about their captain and this little group, to see exactly what worth he should place on them in his upcoming plans. Maresol could be impressed all she wished, but Alejandro was a bit harder to intrigue. He had been around a very long time, longer than his body led on. He had seen the rise and fall of nations, the destruction of kingdoms, and the coming of these pirates that thought themselves invincible rebels. This was not his first run in with zealots that thought themselves above the order of the universe and he had seen the struggles of men for fame and fortune. History was such a fickle mistress, often misconstruing the truth of things and forgetting the efforts of the many that never were impressionable enough on her to deserve a place in her memory. He had long been in her shadow and he was growing very tired of missing out on her good graces. But he was not a main player in the games of mortal men, but meant for background seat, the master behind the scenes that was destined to gain his power through less straight forward means. He needed this Maresol to deliver on her contract...it was vital for his future and her's. He paced along the lower deck, ignoring the looks or lack there of of the men he passed. He knew the fair face of his current body was not always the best disguise for blending, but Alejandro always liked the lime light. He enjoyed envy and loved having the best. It was only right since he was so above all that he came in contact with in this mortal world. He let his hand slide along a canon, his eyes briefly closing as an energy pulled through him. He was taken back to a time when this very canon was used to pulverize the hull of a war ship, killing 5 men alone in its wake. He smiled at the delicious spark of energy before pulling way, instead turning his attention to a more docile area, the kitchens. He found a few men there simply doing menial work. He felt his stomach growl in need and he took from a set of apples a single green one. A cook tried to argue with him, calling Alejandro a "no good thief that should have his hands cut off for stealing from the captain's stores". Alejandro looked down his nose at the man. His eyes seemed to glow a moment a bright green, like the sky before a violent storm before the man dropped all aggression and ran himself into the wall of the kitchen so hard he knocked himself out. It made Alejandro snicker, especially since he knew the man wouldn't remember ever speaking with him. A boy that had been peeling potatoes nearby stared with his mouth agape at Alejandro, who looked to him with a daring smile bringing a finger to his lips in a quiet gesture, challenging the boy to say a word of what he saw. The boy gulped and quickly looked away taking his potato peeling elsewhere. Alejandro took the opportunity to find a place to lie low for a little bit, or at least look as inconspicuous as possible to voice major work. He was above drudgery...

"Arlington!" Snapped Samantha who had already called the boys first name four times, the list in hand, a scowl on her sun kissed face. "Boy- are you deaf?" She called before they finally turned around looking to have been lost in thought. "Your a ratline runner- get your ass up there and untie those foresails. Now. Then report to Fox- up in the nest." She said in a commanding voice before she moved on to the next man who didn't fall into a place naturally. She wasn't too mean about it just wondering what the hell was in the boys' head to keep on from hearing a pirate behind him. --------------------- Fox looked around a little, getting avoided by some of the newer men however the older crew ignored her as they were used to. When she spotted the man she was curious about she stayed back and watched him. Her eyes scanned him as he touched a cannon as thought it were an old friend almost getting a feel for it. it would have been odd had she not knew that strong emotions stayed with objects- that cannon was moved form another ship so it was much older then the others. He moved on soon however down below into the kitchens making her cock her head to the side in a bit of confusion- it wasn't food time yet. She watched however as things progress however she knew that the cook was correct- Annaliese would be mad- but she could over look this if- IF he proved interesting. She moved out of the way of the door way and into a shadow behind a shelf to the left of the door frame as he past her- she noted where he went before heading back to the kitchen. The boy looked scared to see her, but she gave him a soft smile and asked him what he saw- knowing he would speak else fear the captain's pistol. The entire crew knew she had seven elder crew members who were associated with her. Most hand't made it to port. Now there was her brother, Fox, Samantha and a man in the cargo bay. They had picked him up sea side from a wreckage- finding he was a sailor of a Spanish vessel. Nothing military so Annaliese put him in charge of the stocks room, the man was alright with that. After hearing what happen she moved back to find the man- finding him easily as he was avoiding his job now it seemed- Kole wouldn't like that, nope not one but. "You know- you could have introduced yourself earlier." She stated to him easily since she was sure he figured out she was there. "I know what you are- well possibly are. We are the same you and I- I think. Can we be friends?" She asked a little off but it was how she worked no real tact for human interactions.

Maresol jumped when she heard her adoptive father's last name. She had been so entranced looking at other things that she had missed her alias being called. When she turned and faced Samantha, her face turned a bit pale to realize she had ignored orders. She stood taller, listening to her orders and trying not to let the annoyance reach her face. She was a ratline runner? That was boys work and the work for the weak. She wasn't against work, but why was she placed on menial labor? She was trained in everything under her father, but she really had a back for navigation. She knew that she wouldn't be allowed that position as a new sign on. She nodded quickly, running to her station and working her way up the ropes. She was nearly knocked off the line by a younger boy that was swinging into view. She moved out of the way with a wide eyed look before going to the sails, working hard to keep up with the other men. She struggled a bit, but it was mostly because a few of the other new sign ons and old were starting conversation since most were younger men and boys. She fell into some talk with them during work, finding she liked a few of them while others annoyed her. She just wondered exactly what she was supposed to be doing for Fox and who this was. ~~~ Alejandro had taken to one of the side passage ways away from the people running about to get the ship assail, sitting in the sil of a large port window. He had been patiently waiting for whatever the faint presence was that was stalking his movements. He had felt it there when he left the chef alone, hiding there like a little mouse thinking it escaped the cats notice. It was not powerful, but there was something magical to the energy it gave off. He felt it best not to confront it in an open area, especially one where others could over hear. Sailors tended to freak out with their superstitions when confronted with things their little minds couldn't understand. They felt threatened by the legends, rightly so in some cases since most were out to kill or harm them. When the space filled with that strange presence again, he heard a voice telling him what he could have done. Alejandro looked over his shoulder, looking nonchalant at being addressed. Introducing himself meant he would have to care about who he was meeting or found some use in them. So far he found no use in this woman other than someone that could be a nuisance. His face slacked some when she said that she knew what he was, his eyes narrowing at that since he wasn't sure how to perceive that. Was she scared? No, she wouldn't have approached him if she was frightened. Was she intrigued? That could be a possibility since she seemed the nosey sort. What she was going to do with that information however was the most important consideration. He could always deny it, turn a few crew members against her, or just make her disappear. But that would be a waste of his power if she was harmless. Was she harmless? Suddenly she stated that they were alike and that made him tense till of course she asked to be friends...Was she kidding? He eased off the side of the window, going up to her with a calm look. He looked her over. His eyes traveled the frame and face of the young woman there. He was sizing her up, trying to get a read on exactly what she was and what she thought he was. He leaned a little down to her level, his face level with her's as he looked into her eyes. He stared at her long and hard for a moment before a smile pulled at his lips. It was obvious he wasn't threatened by what he saw. "You know what I am? That's awfully presumptuous of you when you don't even know my name." He said in a teasing tone before he straightened and gave her a raise of his brow. "I sense something in you, a power there that is just under the surface, but you do not feel like my kind. I do not know if we are alike or if you are friendly...What are you exactly? " He asked since without entering her mind, which could possibly kill her if he was wrong, or asking her he was unsure of why she felt familiar but also very different....

Kole stepped out onto the main deck and watched as the men started working on loosing the sails- so they could glide across the water. He did love that about this large ship it sailed so smoothly it was like it wasn't even on water. He watched a few swing about before dropping to lower rungs but he watched the fewer higher ups- making sure none fell- it would be a shame to loose some this early on. ----------- The man moved closer to her with a look that wasn't too easy to read. At his words she smirked, that was progress- he was smiling meaning he was open to some form of communication. When asked however what she was- she didn't move but gave him a bit of a frown. "That I can't really say. You have an aura similar to mine- though not the same- from the nest it felt about the same but as I am closer its different to the taste. I am Fox, I am in charge of spotting, some navigation and the sails- mostly the ratline runners. The kitchen boy from earlier was one of mine." She said in a clear tone at the end more introducing herself to him hoping to get a name.

((Decided to take your idea so Bleh)) Maresol was best tying a sail in place when she heard someone call to her from across the way. She looked up, finding that it was a young man that was trying to get her attention about something. She tilted her head slightly in question, only getting a frustrated flurry of movements. "He's trying to tell you to catch a line." A younger voice beside her said, making Maresol look beside her to see a younger boy there. He was a tan boy, at least 14 with brown hair and a freckled face. It was obvious by his accent he was English, perhaps an orphan that took to working with boats to live. She had met some as a young girl with Thomas and she always had a soft spot for them. She offered the boy a light smile, looking a bit sheepish that she hadn't understood what the man wanted but a child had. "Sorry. It's been a very long time since I've been up here..." She said, her words odd but the boy seemed to accept them with only a shrug. "It's no worry. Just try not to piss off too many people. It's quick work and a wrong move or not paying attention could wind you up as pudding." The image that hit Maresol at the analogy made her stomach churn, especially when she glanced down and saw how high up the were. She swallowed hard, glad that the boy had turned his attention towards the man seeking someone to catch the line. When the line was tossed in the air, Maresol felt a strong breeze catch her hair, one that was coming from the ocean breeze and being caught by the sails. She noticed the way the boy leaned to catch the rope with his shorter arms, such that the gust off the sails caused the beam to rattle a bit. She watched almost in slow motion the boy pitch forward, her eyes widening as he slipped from the beam headfirst. He gave a clipped shriek, throwing Maresol into action. She dropped onto the beam, catching the boy by the ankle with some effort. His weight pitched her sideways, enough so that she held on precariously. She clung for dear life to the boy with one hand and the beam with her legs and other arm, not even minding that the hat slipped from her head and caught the breeze the rest of the way down, exposing her longer hair. She gave a sound of pain as the boy struggled a bit, catching the attention of nearby ratliners that came in to help. Soon two men were by her side and helped hoist the boy back onto the beam safely and help straighten Maresol back up. Maresol looked at the boy that looked partially traumatized, but was at least breathing and seemed lucid. "Are you alright?" She asked with true concern, making the young boy nod. "Y-Yeah. I'm good...I can't thank you enough--uh--?" He looked at Maresol expectantly, as if unsure of exactly how to thank her. She gave him a half smile, rolling her shoulder some to help with the pain that shot through it from support that much dead weight. "Markus. And it's no trouble...?" "Daniel. I'm Dan here though." She gave him a clap on the shoulder before they were forced back into work, figuring it was better to not get in trouble over slacking than spend time in pleasantries. ~~~ So this girl, Fox, didn't know what she was? The idea was strange but he had heard talk before of half breeds and met a few in his time on land. Any human with magic ability was some sort of mix of ancient being with human. The ones that brought him to the land were half-breeds anyways of his kind. Perhaps she was one too? He didn't like that thought, especially since it didn't bode well for her. Usually he found humans with even a little power let it go to their heads. This girl however seemed tame and not like she was challenging him. Hell, her magic was well contained if she was some form of practitioner. He couldn't really even sense her when he entered the ship, only when he was close to her. That was strange indeed, or perhaps he was getting old and senile. Or sloppy and careless. Either way, it was not a good sign that he allows her to slip through the cracks. It could be very dangerous for him if she proved to be against him, especially on a ship full of mortals. So it was safest to be cordial, at least till he understood better what exactly she wanted from him or if she was out to do harm to him. Not that it would be easy for the little Fox to kill him, but a firing squad or fire would do just nicely... He was interested in her greeting, or at least to hear that she was a spotter for the ship and in charge of where his little Maresol had run off to. Interesting...hat could be beneficial. "Odd. I've never met someone unsure before. I'm afraid I can't tell by looking at you, but there is something to you, it's faint but there. It has to be if you sensed me out of the lot..." He said before he offered his hand for her to shake, knowing if she was any good she would get a read on his energy and know that whatever he was, he was stronger than her. He knew this wasn't a pissing contest, but he always did like the be top dog. "I'm Alejandro. It's the name this," He motioned to the body, "identifies with. As for your boy in the kitchen, the one that looked like he might piss himself..I apologize if I caused an upset in your ranks. You have your work cut out for you with the young ones Miss Fox." He said since he hardly cared for children and found that their bodies were so much weaker than adults. He took a moment to let that sink in before he spoke again, this time his tone a bit more hesitant than playful. "Now, Fox, why is it you approached me? I'm afraid I'm not used to interaction with another being...not unless it was meant as a challenge or confrontation." He said since most of his kind didn't get along with one another.

Kole watched as things happened in the rigging, watching the one save another that made him smile softly. He knew pirates weren't heartless but most would have let the boy fall. He waited for them to descend before he pulled the boy with long hair aside, motioning for them to come to the Quarter deck, getting a barking order from Samantha with names called- her and the boy who almost fell. When they got there, they both looked a little out of sorts about being called over so suddenly but it was often a bad thing to be called over by Kole- much less both Kole and Samantha. "Markus and Dan correct?" Kole asked them in a kind sounding tone wondering what exactly went on up there, which was what he was going to ask, since he liked to avoid problems. If they could all get together- probably with Fox and make a sure code they could avoid this incident from recurring. ~~~ At this comment about a challenge or a confrontation which went a little backwards with his offer of a hand to shake she frowned, not taking the hand. "I am not challenging you in anyway. I am simply curious- I investigate things for Sam- the ships second, some times Kole-but thats not the point here. I came here to find you and ask if you could help me figure it out? No one has been able to help me save for saying I need to be on the waters all the time- I never go ashore as it is..." She said being very indecisive with her words as she rambled on it seemed. "I had once spoken to an old old soul- one that felt of the grave- long ago- before I came to this ship, told me I was a fish folk- I didn't understand honestly- else I would probably would know things better by now." She stated feeling a little put off but she stood her ground. "I'm not very good with names for things- I just know your something relative to me- not human. I simply wanted to make contact and extend a friendship from one oddity to another." She finally came to a close in her words finding her purpose there it seemed. When Annaliese asked she would call him harmless and say that it wasn't anything to worry about- perhaps its a good luck charm. "And its fine with in the ranks- he is new- picked him up last port from a ship wreck. We are just now fully staffed- thankfully- this ship will flow smoothly now if we can keep my part of the crew from jumping we are fine." She stated since she had one time made a joke and the poor bastard had actually done it- making her a bit more serious about who she spoke to since most seemed to follow her harsher words when she spoke.

When they were called from their work to speak with the serious looking man in uniform and the surly woman, Dan looked quite terrified while Maresol was stoic at best. She put on a prideful front, since she knew if she had done something wrong that she could get out of this. These people didn't seem the type to start killing crew left and right for minor things. However, she noticed the man wore english colors in his jacket. He was a deserter...Thomas had always said that they were the worst kind of people. No honor or commitment, some of them even cowards. That meant he could be a cruel man or perhaps a hard ass. She looked to the woman and found she looked dangerous, something that didn't bode well for her and the boy. She kept her mouth shut as Samantha gave the man their names, her brow raising some when Dan leaned in. "That's the captain's husband Kole...ANd that's Samantha, the first...this may be bad news." He said softly to her as the pair approached the two. She blinked, a bit surprised to hear the captain was married and let alone to an old loyalist. Then again, she assumed the woman had to commander the ship somehow. Maresol looked to Kole when he addressed her and the boy, her head lifting some unlike Dan who looked hesitant. She wasn't sure of the kinder tone and instead held her reserve in place. "Yes sir. What can I do for you?" She asked, wanting to know why they were being called over when no one was hurt or dead at the moment. ~~~ Alejandro's expression eased when Fox stated that she wasn't there to challenge or harm him. Though she seemed to be a sniffer for Samantha and this Kole, it didn't seem like she was out to run to them with what he was. That was good news for her, but he was not totally sure how to process the news that she really had no clue what she was. How exactly had that transpired and what exactly did this mean for her? She could be a half breed, a full blooded creature, or an insane human with a funny energy pattern. He wasn't sure which but news that she was told by an old soul to stay off the land made his head tilt slightly. That could make her a list of things, at least that somewhat confirmed she was of the ocean, as he was...but his soul's attachment to human hosts granted him access to the surface world. That was the case for sea witches. They possessed a human host to gain access to the human world, else they would be trapped to the ocean as something of a mermaid type creature that could astral project their soul. They were still just as dangerous in their sea fairing states, in fact they were more dangerous. Still on land he could control weather and water, hence why he could bend the minds of humans due to their high water concentration. But that magic came with a price on land, since they were forced to use the life force to sustain their magic since humans were non-magic entities, causing them to have to change bodies through contracts. He sensed that she fit her body too well to be a sea witch and she didn't have the fishy smell of a mermaid or the traces of scales. So then what was she? Well that's what she wanted him to help her find. He could do that for her...that is if he actually wanted to. "Alright. I could try to help Fox with what I can. I'm a skilled sea witch, one of the best you'll find that isn't a myth now." He said before offering her a half smile. "Sounds like a dilemma with the mortals. A friend of mine is working for you then...Be sure to be mindful of Markus. I need my little mortal alive. I'd be awfully lonely without them." He said with an almost exasperated tone before he gestured to her. "So as a sign of our new friendship, can I trust you will keep my identity between you and I? My kind can be a bad omen to sailors. I promise I'm not here to cause harm to this ship...only to collect what's mine and move on." He asked since it was often dangerous to allow a creature that could control the seas around boats. A big ship could sink faster than little ships and he was the vindictive sort if someone stabbed him in the back...
