Cearuil was startled awake by the back and forth, having fallen into a deep sort of sleep due to his lack of rest in the days prior. He sat up, eyes narrowing at the women and their arguing, he stayed quiet through it however, since he knew Maria would and could put the girl in her place. Not that seeing Charlotte breaking in to Maria's room was any less of a trigger of anger for him. He was going to make the girl regret that fully. When Maria scared the hell out of her and made her run off, Cearuil gave the door a glare. "She's completely mental. It's hardly even sun up and already she's picking a fight." He grumbled, though got to his feet with a stretch. "I can see that she is punished for breaking your lock..." He said very seriously, planning on putting her in her place. ~~~ Daire was a bit glad to be moving but not at the expense of her leisure. He didn't want to drag her off from her meal, especially when she was enjoying it. He had thought they'd have more time but...well things never went as he planned. He left the kitchen with her, following the servant to the front courtyard where they were ushered into the beautifully crafted carriage, one that as pulled by these aquatic looking creatures that resembled salamanders with almost iridescent neon streaks going down dark blue bodies. He sat across from her since it wouldn't have seemed proper sit beside her, seeing as she would be playing the part of an associate not a friend. He looked her over once more discretely, seeing that she did in fact look like a nobleman's daughter. She could pass for a court flower easily, but that wasn't his intention. He wanted her to be fully involved.

Maria's head turned to look over at him with an apologetic smile," I know- I'm not looking forward to this- but at least I get t scare her into submission every day- bright and early." She said with such sarcasm it sounded like a court flower trying to be sugary sweet over a topic. She went across the room, putting the dagger on the table and popping down into Cearuil's lap, she pulled her legs up and into his lap. She didn't care that her dress was rather un proper at the moment- she was tired and was getting a headache from all the early morning mess. Looking up from where she was she pulled his face down towards her with a hand before putting her lips on his for a few moments."Do as you wish. It could be amusing to watch her squirm." -----------
Charlotte went back to her room and woke up her brother who was sleeping good. When he didn't wake up with the initiation punch- she punched him until he did wake up-his arm would have a few nice bruises later she knew that much. When he woke up and complained she started ranting about how his fiance was crazy and came at her with a knife. His eyes went wide as he looked about the room as if she had been there however that got a glare from his sister," Not here you idiot. Shew as sleeping about with the Prince in her own rooms when I went to go check on her- you know I like to know my family is safe." She said in a pouted expression as she pretended to really care. He sighed heavily and looked at her," well if you break into others rooms like that, you can expect some sort of reaction from some one so violent." She looked at him and frowned," Really- you didn't think I didn't know that. She had a knife to my throat...Doesn't that concern you at all? Your own flesh and blood? Your twin sister about go killed and you seem alright with it?" Issaic looked at his twin and frowned in turn," I do love you sister- your my Twin I can't hate you- however you did go into that knowing you would get a reaction out of her- she is set in her ways as we have seen- just leave her alone- hopefully we can getaway with being in the same room with each other down the road. You do remember I have to put up with her right?" He looked at her with a hard expression as he got his point across- when he got woken up he was a bit more strong willed when cranky- he just wanted to go back to sleep, when he was caught up on sleep he was usually nice and a push over- when short he was a shirt fuse and mean. His sister knew that but figured she wanted to vent now rather then later. "Go back to bed you baby." He rolled his eyes at her and flopped back into his bed- moving his pillow to get comfortable and such. She went to bed herself having been up all night.

Niamh followed Daire through the halls and then to the front courtyard. She paused momentarily when she caught sight of the brightly colored aquatic salamanders that were pulling their carriage. They fascinated her as she had never truly gotten the chance to look at one and it seemed, as she was ushered into a very pretty carriage, that she wasn’t going to get the chance this time either. She sat down, adjusting herself so that her dress was properly positioned around her lap. The doors to the carriage closed and Niamh looked to Daire with an almost hesitant smile. “Let us hope that the information you want will be given to you today.” She was trying to show her support for him but was really unsure of how to do it other than with simple words. After all, Daire was really one of her first friends.

Cearuil knew that Charlotte was a very big part of the deal that Maria would have to deal with when she married that Issaic kid. Seems Charlotte wore the pants while Issaic took a back seat. It was just a hunch, but Cearuil could see it in that moment he got to meet them. It was a disgrace to let your little sister have the power like that and honestly in their society women were not supposed to show that kind of initiative. It was why Maria ran into problems. But Maria's power was out of pride and true skill. Charlotte was just a bully and not in the childish sense. When she kissed him, he kissed her back glad she was close again, especially with her dress in a bit of a disarray from sleep. She really was a sight to behold, even in her moods. He smiled a bit at her comment about saying watching Charlotte being punished would be fun. "Good. It would be fun to watch, especially since it would make you happy." He said since she was stuck in a rough spot for now. ~~~ Daire looked to Niamh when she spoke. He hadn't expected her to say much but he was happy she did. It almost calmed his nerves to have her there, almost made him feel more confident than usual. He couldn't tell her that of course but he could perhaps let her know another way. "Hopefully...I'm glad for your support Niamh." He told her before he fell quiet, looking out the window with a smile, placing his mood at ease. They traveled through the districts of the Atlantic, seeing the sights of the city in the most detached way possible. It made Daire feel too far away from people, the ones that stopped to marvel at the sight of the royal family. He even noticed poorer children looking at the carriage as if it were something fantastical, with their sunken face's lit up in awe. It made him really wonder why it was the palace had the money it did and yet barely any of it went to the people...Mother said it was power and they needed to keep their power to protect the people like this...but how were they protecting them if they were starving, homeless and some even dying of disease? They were spared disparaging thoughts when they reached the richer districts, one that showed its age as a few ruins of old wealth gone had tastefully grown into pretty reefs and homes for wildlife. Daire watched the class change almost instantly, the Meru and Mermidians being the only populace there, all with beautiful outfits and ornaments on their tails and bodies. It was clean and glittered like a priceless gem itself, something that made Daire wonder if they knew of the majority living a harder life just below them. When they arrived at a home that had the set up of an old roman style temple but with a bit more of a closed off appeal to the marble and stone structure, a family crest of an armored sea dragon, billowing on a pair of hanging flags beside the front entrance in to a massive garden looking scape, surrounded by pillars. Daire blinked at the paradise like home and glanced at Niamh to see her reaction. They came to a halt and exited, Daire offering Niamh an arm out of custom. He noticed Hircine in the garden and made his way to her next. She was dressed in a beautiful jade colored dress that was adorned with pearls set in gold that were even done in her hair. It was obvious the family servant did this work but all the same she looked very lovely. "Lady Hircine. I expected you to be inside with your brother." Hircine looked to Niamh and Daire, her expression void of much else other than an almost calm that was broken by a brief evading of her eyes. "And subject myself to time alone with my sister in law? Never." She looked to Niamh, ignoring the brief flicker of worry on Daire's face. She gave Niamh a once over before she gave the briefest of smiles. "You look lovely Niamh." She said before she took her arm and leaned in. "Prince Daire, we will only be a moment. I must share something with Niamh before we enter the home.." She said before walking with Niamh ahead a bit, Daire not far behind but not within listening distance. "Before you enter the lion seals den, I wish to tell you more about this situation. You see, my brother married a very pretty thing one that is as pretty as the lion fish before it poisons you. She is cold and manipulative. For all those smiles there is a row of sharper teeth in wait. You will do fine because you are a capable woman, hence why she may give you trouble. Just promise me that you will not let Daire alone with her--You must understand that there is--" Before she could finish they were greeted by the door opening, a well dressed servant bowing to them, one that was Meru surprisingly. "Welcome, his highness and ladies. Please follow me to the morning room. The Lord and Lady of the house will be with you momentarily." Hircine knew this was a social cue and instantly she separated from Niamh, falling back into her expressionless calm. They went into the home that was just as ornately decorated on the inside as the outside had been. It was decorated with treasures and things from all over the Atlantic, some even from the surface world. They entered an air room, since that was how most modern business was conducted, this room containing fine furniture that was probably dated somewhere around the late 1800's. The seats were lovely ivy colored silk and dark woods, everything tying into ornate dark greys and greens and golds throughout the room. They were shown seats and told to wait, Daire taking to instead observing a beautiful model ship taken from perhaps a ship wreck. "Your brother has a lovely home, Lady Hircine." Daire complimented and Hircine tensed a bit in her seat, though it looked like a simple proper straightening. "Hm...perhaps, though I fear it is little of his taste...more his bride's." She commented coldly before a servant brought them drink choices of tea, juices or water.
(lol so excited for the drama. I'm too impatient...)

With a smile she nodded at his words of she enjoying punishment for Charlotte. "Indeed,I guess its bed time, finally in the early morning." She said as she stood up, pulling him to stand by her hands in his. Walking backwards she pulled him towards the door since she knew he still wanted to keep up appearances. Before they got to the door she pulled him into another Kiss, a bit of a longer one since it was a goodnight kiss. She was tired herself but liked having his company more, but didn't wanna push him too far. Pulling away and stepped back and smiled at him," See you tomorrow when I can?" She asked looking cute wondering what his schedule even was tomorrow.

Niamh gave Daire a tight lipped smile as he turned to watch the scenery unfold out of the window. She turned her eyes towards the window as well, observing what was going on outside of the window since it seemed that Daire did not want to speak. She didn’t mind really. Sitting in silence was something she enjoyed and she was pleased that it wasn’t awkward between them but comfortable. She scooted over to the opposite window of the one Daire was looking out of and her fingers pressed lightly against the glass of the window. It felt cool to the touch. The people they drove past seemed enamored with the carriage. Children gawked and pointed as adults held a mixture of reverence and spiteful glances that they thought no one could see. Niamh noticed how poor they were and the bland clothing they wore. It wasn’t an uncommon sight to her, though she glanced at Daire, wondering what he thought of the sights he was seeing. She knew that he had no knowledge of the poverty of some of the city, though she hoped he wouldn’t fret too much over it. There would always be those with less money than others, but this was a huge gap, one that Niamh could someday see Daire fixing. He was a kind man that seemed to think of his people. Eventually, they moved from the poorer districts to one that was full of meridian and meru alike that were dressed splendidly. The buildings were older; a few of them having crumbling into the ground, though their infrastructure had given a fantastic breeding ground for coral reefs and wildlife. Her face brightened when she saw those marvels and her face was nearly pressed up against the glass until she realized how improper that was and she sat back down with a pretty posture. They pulled up in front of a roman style building that seemed like a temple to Niamh. She smiled at the sight of the ornate home. It was much grander in overall appearance than where she grew up, however, she wondered if it was much bigger. She was the equivalent to royalty in her line of work due to her parentage and that had shown with her living accommodations, though they were hidden off in waters less traveled. Still this was a marvelous home and her face was bright with wonder as she looked up to it before they left the carriage, her eyes lingering on the armored sea dragon that embroidered the flags billowing in the current of the water. Her features took on a more appropriate expression when she left the carriage. She smiled at Daire when he offered his arm and took it before they angled towards Hercine who was in the garden a little ways away. Niamh attempted to keep her eyes on Hercine but they flickered around to note the entrances and exits as well as anyone else that may have been around. As she did so, she found the beauty of the gardens to be appealing, however, her eyes focused on Hercine as they got closer. She looked stunning as her hair was done up in pearls and gold and her dress a beautiful green that made her eyes pop. Niamh smiled when she got closer, admiring the pretty woman’s dress and poise. “As do you, Hercine.” Niamh replied with a cheerful demeanor as she truly meant it. She, however, was surprised when Hercine took her arm. She glanced to Daire before Hercine took her ahead, her attention focusing on the female. Her smile turned neutral at the woman’s words and she kept her eyes on Hercine’s features. Niamh stopped herself from biting her lower lip in a nervous habit, instead furrowing her brow slightly in thought. She was pleased that Hercine thought her a capable woman, but found it unsettling that her brother was married to such a woman. Her mind switched to concern when Daire was brought up though she was unable to receive the whole story as they were interrupted by a meru servant opening the door for them. She felt as though something had been snatched away from her and a brief spout of anger formed in her at the unfortunate timing. Still as Hercine moved away from Niamh, she caught her eyes and smiled with a short nod. She didn’t need to hear Hercine’s reasoning. Niamh would try and keep Daire from whatever retched woman they would be meeting. Hercine was a trustable woman that much Niamh had gained from her short period in knowing her. Entering the home, Niamh was greeted with a dark woods and pale cloths. It was a pretty decorum that Niamh appreciated. She looked around discretely with her eyes as they were lead to their seats. Niamh sat, glancing down at her legs which thankfully had healed their minor bruises and scratches. She noticed Daire didn’t sit and nodded her head as he complimented the home they were in. Hercine’s reply held more to it than was shown and Niamh could sense her great…was it dislike for the woman. Accepting the juices out of the drink choices, Niamh turned to Hercine, letting Daire examine as he wished. She was there to help him but keeping her attention on him at all times was something that might be misconstrued. She also found Hercine’s company enjoyable. “It is good to see you again.” She said in a polite tone as she tried to keep a bit of conversation going before the one they came here to meet came by. She wasn’t trying to be overly chatty, but she felt like keeping sociable with Hercine was a nice thing to do, especially since the female seemed uncomfortable with being here.

Cearuil knew it was time for him to go but it didn't make it any easier to. She however brought him to the door, giving a kiss as goodnight and to make him follow the rules. He gave her a smile when she stepped away though it eased some as he spoke. "Of course. Perhaps if you're free when I return form the officials meeting..." He said making it sound like a tempting offer though he knew he didn't need to. She needed to play clean up with her family and he needed to attend a duty that his brother was unable to attend. "Good night Maria." He said before he forced himself from her room and to his own. He needed at least some semblance of sleep before tomorrow. ~~~ Hercine was happy to hear Niamh's words, since she also found Niamh good company. She wasn't like most of the noble's she encountered. Most of the women and men around her age were either frivolous, impatient or two faced. Even Diare had his vapid tendencies, such as his warm composure he kept like a well placed mask. It was all too fake for her, who much preferred the simplicity of good, honest conversation. "I'm glad to see you as well Niamh. You are interesting." She said before she gave her a somewhat smile. "Are you enjoying your stay in Atlantica? I heard from Daire that you're staying in the palace. I always did like the palace." She said as if it were a good memory she found far off though it hardly was.

With a smirk she nodded," Sounds like a deal, I will see you when you return, I think I'll visit with my father tomorrow- get some things straightened out a bit better." She said with a small smile as she said good night back to Cearuil. She watched him walk out, when the door closed she sighed- missing the company of some one who understood her so well. She crawled into bed and fell asleep easily since she was exhausted after today.

Niamh smiled some and nodded her head.” Yes. The palace is a very wonderful place. Everyone is taking care of me and the food—“She trailed off and chuckled some. “I don’t know what I am going to do when I must leave.” She wasn’t really intending on saying that but it was something she knew would eventually happen. She couldn’t stay at the palace forever. Once she had helped Daire she would have to return home, though her heart seemed to do a double take at the thought. She didn’t really want to, but she couldn’t stay a burden to him and his family. Niamh glanced at Daire with a bit of an unreadable expression but it morphed into a pleasant expression that wasn’t at all faked when looking back at Hercine. She wasn’t going to spoil her mood at speaking with this woman just over a thought that might not come to pass for a while longer. “I will be staying for a little while longer though, So maybe we could get together some time. I heard the park in the south of the city is beautiful and that there is a renowned tea shop located there.” She was trying to be friendly and maybe make a new friend, though she wasn’t too sure how that would work out. She didn’t know if Hercine would even want to be friendly with Niamh outside of whatever “business” they were conducting with her brother.

Cearuil was woken by Serena, who was ushering him to get ready as she opened the drawn curtains in his room. When he protested with a stream of grumbles about not caring if he made the "pompous money grabbers" wait, she then proceeded to scold him on the importance of promptness. He was finally fully awake after a few minutes of her rant and got ready for the meeting rather half heartedly. In all honesty he didn't want to do this but it was the principle of helping his brother out with at least one more thing. Besides he hardly wanted to miss a chance to deal with his mothers side of the family...He rolled his eyes, not even able to convince himself of that. They were sure to be at the meeting since his mother's family was a very prominent group of nobles. ~~~~ Hercine smiled at her enthusiasm but her expression dulled some into mild interest when she saw Niamh actually looked away with mixed emotions playing across her face. Seems the woman really was unsure what she would do after she left the palace's care for whatever reason. She hoped the best for Niamh either way...but to see her attention turn to Daire did make Hercine's expression neutralize. That mixed expression was directed at the prince only briefly before it faded back into the pleasantry she had come to like about Niamh. Seems there was something to this friendship seemingly formed over night, but just what Hercine couldn't quite tell... When Niamh brought up actually meeting again, she blinked with a bit of surprise but that soon turned to a happiness that was easily read. She nodded with a smile. "That sounds lovely. I would like that, Niamh." "Ah my baby sister is smiling. Seems like ages since I've seen such a pretty smile." Hercine's head snapped in the direction of the voice and she saw that her brother had come in unannounced, much to the servants surprise who still held the door, her mouth open as if she had tried to say something before he just walked in. She rose and headed over to the man that was a few years her senior. Before she could give a formal bow, he gave her a hug and kissed the top of her head much to Hercine's shock. "I missed you so. When was the last time we saw each other? Surely it was before spring? My these winter months seem so long." He chuckled only bringing out Hercine's rather cat like annoyance at being cuddled. Not to mention her brother was acting too comfortably in front of guests, as he usually did. It was a wonder he kept the Knight mining trade running with his laughable decorum. Perhaps it was just his pretty face and charm that kept their fortune growing daily. "It was three springs ago brother. Your memory is failing you." She said before she squirmed her way out of his hold and straightened. "Now brother shouldn't you also greet your other guests...." He blinked and seemed to realize that there were other people in the room, though that hardly deterred his good mood. He gave Niamh a half smile and a bow before his eyes rested on Daire. He seemed to process him a moment before his brows rose some in almost surprise. "Ah, greetings your majesty." He bowed low, almost with a bit more formality than he had with Niamh, before he bobbed back up with a bright smile. "Forgive my manners. I am Anthony Knight, Lord to the Knight family. You see my sister and I are all each other has in the way of blood, besides my wife of course. It is a mystery to me why little Hercine stays so distant." He said with a somewhat sad look in his sister's direction. Daire was rather surprised by the whole display and had to take a silent moment to collect himself from the rather sudden greeting. Seems Hercine's brother was the talkative, excitable sort... "It is quite alright, Lord Knight. I understand perfectly well as does my associate." Daire said with added decorum that was returned by Anthony looking to Niamh. He didn't like the way he smiled at Niamh for one reason or another, though most would interpret the smile as simply friendly. "I am glad. This is quite the lovely associate you have here, your highness. Though I have not seen your face before...Your name is?" He asked and Hercine wondered how Niamh and Daire were taking her brother.

Niamh’s happiness at Hercine’s yes was evident in her girlish grin but that faded into a neutral curiosity as a masculine voice permeated the area around them. Niamh turned her head as it seemed Hercine’s nearly broke with how quickly she had moved it. Niamh was very controlled in her movements though. Even when surprised, she didn’t move quickly unless it was a dangerous situation. Her eyes were greeted with an attractive male that was a few years older than her. She stood as she assumed it was Hercine’s older brother and Niamh couldn’t help the lightly amused smile that formed on her lips, though she hid it behind a few of her fingers that curled up at her mouth. Niamh could see Hercine’s dislike of the public affection, but Niamh thought it was somewhat cute, though she could see how the female thought it inappropriate. The interaction between the two made her mind reminisce for a brief moment on the days she had spent with her brother, though she quickly but a stop to that in her mind as Hercine’s brother’s attention rested on Niamh and then Daire. Greetings were exchanged and Niamh watched how Daire reacted to the man. There was a moment of silence before Daire replied, Niamh assuming he was collecting himself as he seemed to do often. It wasn’t quite the introduction he was expecting, she was sure of that. When Anthony’s attention turned to Niamh, she greeted him with a curtsy and a polite smile that showed her pretty features, despite the fact that she wore no make-up of any kind as many ‘court-flowers’ did, not that she technically was one. “My name is Niamh Dakry.” She left out the other half of her last name as some knew it and though she wasn’t sure he would, it was better to be safe than sorry. “It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Lord Knight.” Niamh found the man to be one with an over healthy appreciation of oneself. He seemed charismatic and accustomed to getting what he liked, though that was an assessment based on what she had seen so far compared with many men she had observed and spoken with during recon missions. She wasn’t always right, though she felt fairly confident in her assessment. She didn’t have anything against the man though and had a feeling he might have a good heart underneath the confident and attractive exterior he wore.

Anthony grinned when the names were exchanged and he gave Niamh a small nod of approval. "Yes and it's a pleasure to meet you as well Lady Niamh. What a beautiful name huh, Hercine? THough I can't say I've heard of the Dakry family...Then again we aren't the most well known fish in the sea either." Hercine nodded before she motioned to the seats discreetly as if to remind her brother that everyone was standing still. "Oh do not stand on my accord. Please take a seat. all of them are quite comfortable." He went to one of the seats and pulled Hercine down next to him, not that she seemed to mind past being a bit miffed at being forced. She however glanced at Niamh and mouthed a small apology. Daire took a seat in fact next to Niamh, not minding the close proximity past the fact that if he wanted to he could touch her. It was hard not to at least glance her way but he managed by focusing on a point beside Anthony's head. "I'm glad you accepted our visit that was a bit out of the blue." Daire said and Anthony gave a shake of his head, seemingly batting away the question. "No no, it's an honor to host my prince and Hercine's friends. She always had quite the crush on your brother--" Hercine discreetly stepped on his toes, silencing him past a small narrow of his eyes. "But enough of that talk, we are here to enjoy a bit of time together, like the old days--" "The days our youth were such a fond memory..." Daire was surprised to hear a voice behind them, one that was clear as a bell and oddly familiar. It sounded warm and rather rich, like honey or perhaps soft like silk. It intrigued him, so much so that when it was announced by a servant that it was the lady of the house had arrived, he hardly even noticed Hercine across from him shrink back in her seat as Daire stood to greet her. "Good day Lady Kni--ght" Daire fumbled the name, the final part of the name falling out of his mouth like escaped air. He had little reason not to, for there stood none other than Seraphina or as he called her Meridia. She always preferred her middle name, said it sounded less delicate.... Daire actually felt stumped, not expecting in a million years to ever be faced with the woman that made him fall in love with her and single handedly almost destroyed his life. That smile she gave him reminded him of those feelings that actually made his chest tighten and his brain hit a brick wall in his thoughts. He fumbled to get a sentence to come out, say something rather than stare like a pale idiot. But he couldn't even comprehend the dynamics of keeping the shock off his face. She looked just as beautiful as ever, her laugh carrying over the room with smooth tone. She batted her eyes at the right moment it seemed and turned those bright blue eyes to him that showed a small humor. "Hello Prince Daire. It has been a while." She curtsied a bit eyes demurely to the ground before they flicked back up to his. "A-And you Meridia.." He all but stammered, his voice only barely audible. They held stares for a moment, before Daire seemed to snap out of his daze when Anthony put an arm around her and gave her a kiss on the cheek. She blushed and seemed to duck away in innocent embarrassment. Daire felt a complicated emotion at the display that silenced him and made him take his seat again with a stone faced composure returning to his look. He didn't even look away however. It was like a shark attack, he couldn't... "This is my wife, Seraphina Knight. The most beautiful woman in the seven seas." He teased and she gave him a bat of her eyes and a bright blush. "Please Anthony you spoil me and embarrass me infront of our guests." She said before Seraphina looked from him to Hercine. "Dear sister I was so happy to hear you were coming." She said, all smiled and soft looks of care. Hercine returned her warmth with a cold look. "I'm glad Seraphina." She said, not returning the title of sister that witch didn't deserve. Seraphina didn't even seem to mind but instead turned her gaze to Niamh. She saw Daire sitting next to her and gave a curious look that was accompanied by a cute smile. "And look another friend to add to our circle. Welcome my dear." She said before Anthony whispered something in her ear. She tensed but the action was very slight, only her shoulders seeming to show a firmer posture. She batted her eyes at Niamh and gave her a softer look. "My husband says you are an associate of Prince Daire's. You're all more the welcome here dear--" "Niamh. Her name is Niamh." Hercine said and Meridia's lip twitched. "Ah yes, forgive me, Lady Niamh. Now please tell me more about yourself. I'm sure we're all wondering about this new face..." She said as she took a seat with Anthony, practically coaxing him to sit with her. Her hold on his arm keeping his attention away from Hercine visibly.

Anthony was a talker it seemed, though that made Niamh feel as though this little visit of theirs would be more fruitful in a way. She couldn’t imagine not getting the information out of him if he was so willing to speak. She sat when the man of the house said to, glancing at Hercine as she was pulled down rather ungracefully. She saw the mouthed apology and smiled humorously with her eyes crinkling at the edges some. It was perfectly alright. Niamh however was surprised when Daire sat next to her, though she didn’t really show it past looking at him as he sat. She turned her eyes forward however and focused on Anothony who was talking. She didn’t really want to think about how close she was to the Prince. They were nearly touching and she could hear him breathing when not speaking. It wasn’t uncomfortable for her, but it pulled thoughts into her mind that shouldn’t have been there. Her mind was drawn elsewhere as Anthony spoke on, being silenced by Hercine as he began to speak of crushes. She gave Hercine a bit of a look, not quite having pegged that of her, but finding her more interesting for it. Of course, their attention was drawn to a rich female voice that interrupted Anthony’s. Niamh turned as the servant announced that the lady of the house had arrived. She stood with Daire out of respect, but her eyes narrowed ever so slightly at his reaction to the pretty woman. It was the first real time she had ever seen Daire at a loss for words. There was silence until Lady Knight, or Meridia as Daire called her, spoke. Niamh’s face was pleasantly neutral as though not bothered by the fact that Daire was stammering while being faced with this woman. It seemed they knew each other from the past, but as for how, Niamh didn’t know for sure. She assumed that something had happened between the two, but she wouldn’t make assumptions. Niamh’s lips were in a tight smile as she watched the woman’s displays of innocence that she didn’t think were true. The girlish embarrassment and blush caused by her husband’s affections seemed to jolt Daire out of whatever his mind had been thinking. Niamh’s eyes went between Daire and Seriphina, yet another name she seemed to go by. Her attention, however, turned to Hercine whom Seriphina addressed. The caring expression on her features seemed genuine but Hercine replied with the total opposite, her words not matching her tone. Niamh sat with Daire, noticing how he seemed to have closed up all of his walls. She couldn’t really read him which was a bit different than usual, his stoic composure one she imagined he used for meetings with officials and dignitaries. She didn’t have much time to think on it though as Seriphina spoke to Niamh with a smile that could be considered adorable with her pretty features. Niamh smiled at the welcome and didn’t let it fade as she noticed her posture firming up. Her eyes were trained to see that which others tried to hide and she could tell that whatever had been said was enough to make Seriphina tense up. The woman called Niamh dear again, though Hercine seemed to find that rude and corrected her, giving Seriphina her name. Niamh gave Hercine a light smile. She didn’t quite like how the woman questioned her now, putting the entire focus of the conversation onto Niamh. She also decided that she liked to have a tight grip on her husband who seemed to want to give Hercine attention but was being forced to sit with his wife. She decided not to think much on it for now but smile, flashing her teeth as she played the gentle court flower. “Ah, it is perfectly alright Lady Seriphina.” Niamh sat straighter, folding her knees together with a perfect posture and she was pleased that there was very little, if any strain to her ribcage. She was definitely progressing well. “My father was the Armiger of a small town south of Atlantica. We help to keep order in the town and the outlying country. Our name has dwindled quite significantly since my father and brother died during the war, but I hope to bring a good name to it as the sole heir.” She glanced at Daire out of the corner of her eyes before brushing a fallen strand of hair out of her eyes, her hair pin flashing in the light. She didn’t show that she was embellishing her history and leaving out certain areas that were quite important. She was calm and she looked Seraphina in the face as she spoke. Of course, there was the whole issue of how Daire wanted to say they met, which they hadn’t really discussed prior. "Of course, one couldn’t have expected meeting the Crowned Prince. I have been fortunate enough to make his acquaintance and I am sure Prince Daire would love to tell you the story of how we met.” She looked to Daire with a smile, her eyes that were only visible to him at the moment, asking him to take over the conversation. She could lie all she wanted all day, but she didn’t want to say something that would screw this up. She had no idea the relationship between him and Seraphina so she didn’t want to say something about their meeting that would anger him. Niamh was, however, a bit confused by their relationship, her curiosity nearly overpowering her. She wanted to pull him to the side and ask who the beautiful woman was to him, but she didn’t. It wasn’t her place nor was it her right to think of him as anything more than a friend as even that was pushing social limits. She had no reason to even think he would tell her either.
