Seraphina's eyes didn't leave Niamh as she spoke, her look measured and showing the correct amount of care when Niamh brought up her father's death. She nodded her head with a soft frown at Niamh's hope to be something important to her family name as the heir and even Daire looked to her with a bit of a softer look. He knew just how true that story was, the last assassin of her father's bloodline and one that felt a responsibility to her dead brother. It was a heavy burden for Niamh to carry, one he wanted to help her through but he doubted the girl would accept it. She was stronger than she appeared... Seraphina caught Daire looking at Niamh and at Niamh's words about being "lucky" to meet the crown prince, Seraphina's grip tightened on her husband's arm. Oh, so the girl was important to Daire? She looked in Daire's direction at Niamh's appeal for him to tell the story. She put on a curious look, though the undertones in her eyes told a story of something colder in the woman's stare. It was very slight and almost unrecognizable if one wasn't looking. Daire watched Niamh smile, though he knew by her look that she wanted him to speak out of her curiosity. He wished he could explain things. It was wrong of him to bring her into this situation like this...then again he was blindsided. He hardly expected Seraphina to be anywhere near Atlantica. The last he heard of her was years ago when he was still young, it was news that her father had sent her to live with her grandmother in the country far from societies reaches...at least till things in the palace settled. But should he be surprised? She was beautiful and a smart girl. Some aristocrat from the city would have surely asked for her hand the moment she returned to society... Though he knew the facts, he wasn't sure how he felt about all this and suddenly seeing her. One par of him felt guilt, one elation, another longing.... He forced a smile for Niamh and looked to the Knight pair with a steadier look. "We met at my father's event, the one held in honor of my brother's achievements. She was a lovely conversationalist, brilliant company and a fine dancer. I was surprised she gave me the time of day when she was invited to dine with my family...through it all this past month she has offered me a great deal of support, especially with a few endeavors." Anthony gave a smile though it held a sadder tone to it. "Yes your father was a good man." Seraphina bowed her head. "I'm sorry for your loss, Prince..." She looked up and her eyes met Niamh's. "But I am glad he has had you there Lady Niamh. I'm sure you have been excellent support, especially with those endeavors..." She said it in a way that sounded pleasant in her honey laced tone but there was a hint of arsenic to her words that made Hercine tense. "Thank you but I hardly wish to darken your day. Though your words are appreciated." He said before Anthony gave a nod. "As always, the humble one Daire. My wife mentioned you were quite the kind person when you were little. If I remember correctly you spent a great deal of time with her and my sister?" Daire hadn't wanted the topic to be brought up but it was so he would have to do his best to weather through it. "I'm glad for the compliments. Yes I was a friend to both girls growing up, seeing as our parents thought it pertinent to bring us together often for the summer studies. Hercine was quite the poet if I remember correctly and Me-Seraphina did quite well at the harp..." Anthony's brow rose and he looked from one girl to the other. Seraphina seemed to watch Daire a moment before her eyes flicked to her husband's waiting gaze. "I never knew you were musical. Well, only better for us darling." He said and she gave him a smile and a nod before she requested tea from her servant. The servant worked diligently as if by clock work in making her tea, making it obvious that it was a common occurrence. She was obviously pampered like a queen, just by the status of her mere hands being flawless as if she never lifted a finger. "Please you must tell me a little more, it seems as though I hardly know the two most important women in my life." Anthony laughed and Daire gave a bit of a hesitant smile. "Ah well--Both are equally extraordinary women in their own ways. I think I could hardly put into words the truth of them personally." He was covering his ass here, trying to make up for his slip. He wouldn't dare admit to this woman's husband he knew more about Seraphina than Anthony probably would in years of them being married...That bothered him but in a way he wasn't quite sure. Anthony gave Daire a bit of a smirk. "Well spoken. Seems I'm not that good. I seem to have left Lady Niamh out." He gave her a playful look. "I'm sure you get bored of all this proper talk of old times we weren't privileged with. Let's talk of more current affairs, seems I hardly get out much anyways." He said before motioning for himself to move on. "Like news from the militia event. I dread those fancy parties in all honesty but I heard this years was quite spectacular." He said, trying to include her since he found the pretty girl interesting. ~~~ (Aw no charlotte and Maria fighting???)
Cearuil entered the large open volume court house, eyes going to first the Mermidian's attending and second to the familiar faces. A few made their way to him, greeting him with formal words and phrases since he was of royalty. However some seemed surprised to see him, almost as if they expected Daire instead. However his brother wasn't able to make it due to a previous engagement, as he had to explain to the few that dared come near to ask. However the dry exchanges were cut off by actually a woman coming forward that though for her greying hair and obviously aging status, the woman looked the picture of graceful aging. She bowed low to an officer that had been in the midst of speaking before she turned her polite gaze to Cearuil. "Please sir I'd like to speak to my grandson in peace." She said and the man bowed out respectfully, leaving the two semi alone. The innocence fell from the woman's look and turned to a sharp confidence that mirrored that of Cearuil's own. "My dear boy it has been too long." She said before she took his chin and gave him an appraising look. "But the war has been kind to you. Oh so handsome, obviously from my side of the family." Cearuil jerked his head away but gave the old woman a tolerable smile. He wouldn't say he didn't like his grandmother, after all she exercised more sense then most of the people in his family and she was more brutally honest, but she could wear on one when she got into her pride spiels. "Mother won't approve of us speaking." He said with a bit of humor that brought out a catty smile from the woman. "As if I care what that daughter of mine will approve of. She knows that for damn sure." She said and Cearuil shook his head, knowing his mother and her mother didn't see eye to eye. They were often at odds with one another, though Cearuil assumed it was because they were quite similar. "Anyways my dear, enlighten me about something. Seems you have your mother in a tizzy over a woman?" Cearuil blinked and his mouth opened as if to ask where she heard that from but the woman shooed the question away. "Please the servants your mother took with her are still loyal to me child. Don't worry, I take no offense. I hear she is quite the spit fire. A warlords daughter no less..." Cearuil gave his grandmother a funny look, wondering what the woman was getting at by bringing up Maria.

Carolette was bored sitting there while her brother got all the fun of sitting by Maria by her father. Glancing over she noticed she had a scowl firmly painted on her lips. It was rather obvious she was unhappy with whom she was sitting by be it her brother or her father. "Thank you for inviting me to sit by you in this court meeting, I appreciate it." He said in a calm voice that almost sounded meek. Maria frowned deepened a but as she rolled her eyes and glanced away from both Issaic and her father. Alsief smiled lightly at the boy and nodded," My pleasure, I think a bit of quality time between you and Maria might help her warm up to the idea of marriage." He said almost pointedly at his daughter who glared at him for it. He looked at her back with the same glare. She looked away irritated but stayed where she was, she was thinking about just leaving however it was hard to now that it was almost time. Issaic watched how her father handled her and he just did as she did by glaring back at her until she gave up. He never thought of that, mostly his sister would beat him up for standing alone in something- however she had already thrown him to the dogs. He looked across the way to see her smiling at him with a little wave as she sat next to her fiancee who was much less out spoken as Maria. He in fact actually talked to her politely. He turned his head to look at Maria who sighed heavily as she looked at her lap- looking either defeated or just tired. So far he had only a few words with her and that was when she was with the Prince in the garden she hadn't really spoken to him since. He looked a bit deflated himself however he took a breath and leaned in to speak to her quietly. He wasn't a loud person never had been but he hoped she didn't totally hate him for something they couldn't control. "This wasn't my choice either Maria. I'm sorry you were dragged into this mess." He said apologetically, making her glance over at him, her lips hard pressed. "Would you mind If I hurt your sister?" She asked him quietly and simply, however that made him look at her a bit confused. "Why would you- besides the most obvious reasons?" He asked what she had done to provoke her- he was more surprised that she even answered him. Maria noticed this and frowned," She broke into my personal chambers...Enough said." she stated, glancing over at her father who wasn't even paying them any attention. He looked taken aback and he looked over at his sister who hadn't mentioned that to him. He glared at her for that kind of intrusion, she frowned at him then turned ignoring him. He turned back to Maria and frowned," I had no idea, go for it- make her see where manner come into play. I won't intrude." He said sounding mildly irritated at his twins actions. He had no idea she was acting out like that. Maria looked at him and smiled a bit for a change that he was going to let her beat the crap out of his sister. She glanced over at Charlotte who was trying to ignore them but kept glancing over when her old friend waved to her with a smile, making her wave as well with a few words it seemed. Maria waved politely and smiled almost evilly at her soon to be sister in law. Her attention was drawn away when the doors opened and the prince came in, higher officials going to meet him. She licked her lips almost nervously as she watched Cearuil talking to some older woman who he smiled at however his expression was a bit surprised, that she wondered why- she herself found it hard to surprise him. She moved her eyes off of him, not wanting to be caught staring at him and getting herself into trouble she looked about the room again, but she couldn't help as she eyes strayed back to him. Issaic watched this and smiled- almost wishing she thought of him like that- then perhaps she would be nicer- however he doubted it, she wasn't his type it seemed, too violent and up front. he wanted some one nice yet able to protect themselves from his sisters evil ways.

Niamh’s eyes didn’t stray from Seraphina. She saw the expression she flashed with practiced elegance. She was well timed and nearly believable but Niamh was well versed with the same gift of pretending and acting. She could see the emotions held in the woman’s eyes and the small signs that gave her away. The eyes were the window to the soul and Niamh was curious, though she tried not to read too much into what was going on here. Daire was acting a bit strangely in her opinion and she wondered if Seraphina and them were close before...Niamh wasn’t sure how she felt at that thought. Niamh glanced at Daire as he spoke, noticing that his smile reminded her of the one he put on for business. She had seen it enough times before his real smile had come to her attention. It didn’t reach his eyes, though his calm and steady appearance would lead most anyone to believe that he was happy with the company surrounding him and the words coming from his lips. Niamh looked away from him though, and kept her eyes close to Seraphina. The words Daire spoke of her made her heart skip a little and she told herself that he was just saying such things for the sake of the conversation, though she knew he was being honest at the end. She had supported him to the best of her abilities with the tasks he was trying to accomplish. It wasn’t an easy task, even for a man such as himself. As Seraphina’s eyes met Naimh’s, she smiled softly. Seraphina’s words sounded sweet but Niamh heard the poison that was laced with the sugar coating. It made her curious and she cocked her head to the side, acting as though she hadn’t heard it, blinking slowly as her smile grew. If this woman was going to be this way to Niamh after their first meeting than Niamh felt as though she had a right to find out why, though asking outright was out of the question. Niamh’s eyes though, were pulled towards Anthony as he spoke and her interest perked as she heard that Daire had spent time with Hercine and Seraphina as a child. She looked to the Crowned Prince with an intrigued expression. Daire spoke, but it seemed he wasn’t going to indulge them with much information of the past. Niamh felt curiosity gnawing at her but she kept it in check. Now was not a good time. The conversation between the men was rather lacking in information and Niamh sat properly with a straight back, Daire’s body heat reaching her through the limited distance between them. She swallowed as she glanced at Daire, wondering how he felt about their proximity. Of course, they had held hands before and such, but for some reason the fact that they were so close in front of those that knew them…it made her feel odd… Blinking, Niamh realized that Anthony had mentioned her name. She returned his playful look with an amused smile. “Spectacular might be one way of putting it.” Niamh replied as she brushed a stray hair out of her eyes, a gold one that was mixed with the blue. She sighed softly as she thought back to the militia event. “There was much political conversation, so much so that I fear it has all become a jumble in my mind.” She chuckled softly. “Of course, that sort of conversation becomes boring to me after so many hours, though the music was wonderful.” She smiled and her gaze shifted to Hercine for a moment where it softened for the briefest moment from its practiced cheer. Her eyes went back to Anthony quickly and her smile grew as she remembered parts of the militia event she had enjoyed. “To be honest, those sorts of parties are quite similar. The food was good as was the dancing; however, I’m sure you didn’t miss much.” She saw an opportunity here and motioned with her hand as though she was waving the militia even away. “The party that was held in Prince Cearuil’s honor was much the same before…before the tragic events that unfolded—As I am sure you know.” Her smile softened some as she spoke, turning her eyes to Daire and placing her hand on his to apologize for his father’s loss. There really was no way around bringing it up and she was more sorry for that than using it in a way to try and find out what they had come here for.
((Let me know if this works. =]))

Daire felt Niamh's touch and his eyes went to her, his look softening. It was obvious that it gave him a slight sense of calm despite the harsh feelings. Hercine remembered that Daire and Niamh were wanting to talk to her brother, but she was unsure why. It wasn't like much went on with her family. They were the old money family that kept to themselves after all. That only changed a bit when he got married to Seraphina. The girl was a trained socialite, therefor she stayed in the light of society. However, that was toned down since Anthony actually didn't like big parties. So when Niamh went to ask about him being at the prince's event, of course inadvertently, he gave her a small shake of his head. "Only from stories. And I'm sure it was something not to be missed..." He said and Seraphina sighed. "We couldn't make it to the event..." She clarified and Daire felt like the answer was an honest one... Her family was a name not allowed in the palace because of the two...so perhaps it was best she didn't attend... He looked to Niamh and actually gave her hand a squeeze, since they had gotten the information they wanted. The Knight family hadn't attended, no one besides Hercine. Which meant their name being on the list meant that there was someone there that wasn't supposed to be. Seraphina noticed the hand squeeze and her eyes narrowed. She however let her look ease with a sort of sweetened smile. "Darling it's a bit too stuffy in here. May I show the ladies the new addition to our gardens?" She asked as if hopeful to spend time with these women. More or less she wanted a chance to find out more of this mystery girl with Daire. ~~~~ Cearuil's grandmother raised an eyebrow at his attention fleeting at mention of the woman. He seemed a little off about her, but she wouldn't bring that up. He hated to be called out on ideas of weakness that he seemed to have towards this girl. She looked uneasy however since like most of their family, Cearuil had the determination to fight for what he wanted, sometimes forgetting reason. She didn't want to see his down fall come from trying to fight for this woman if something was in his way. They took their seats nearest the Council's placement, as things began to unfold. Cearuil bowed to the head councilman and sat at his allowed seat. The house speaker announced the meeting to an open and called for those with issue to address the tasks for today. Cearuil gave a yawn somewhat discreetly seeing as last night had been rather sleepless for him. The official didn't seem to notice but it drew a mutter from a few wives nearby.

Alsief hushed the two from talking when the meeting was called to begin and they began reading things for the agenda. It was an important meeting however it seemed Prince Daire wound't be in attendance as the high counselor stated. Vin had come into the room and stood behind Cearuil to his right. where he would have been between the two boys have they both been there. He was standing straight and proper and he was making small comments to Cearuil every now and again asking how he was feeling since he seemed tired. He didn't blame him for being bored however it was important to look interested at theses so one didn't look foolish later.

Niamh kept a rather neutral expression on her features, though she smiled a bit at the words that they could not attend. Inwardly, Niamh was happy. They had gotten the information they had come for in such a quick amount of time, though it wasn’t necessarily good news. It meant that there had been an infiltration by someone and that someone most likely had something to do with the King’s death. Niamh looked at Daire when he squeezed her hand and she smiled softly, though turned her attention back to their hosts. Niamh’s eyes focused especially on Seraphina whose smile seemed overly sweet. The idea of going to the gardens with Seraphina wasn’t entirely pleasant to Niamh, but Hercine would be there so she didn’t think it would be too horrible. She also wondered if Daire would like some time to speak with Anthony as just the two of them. “I’m sure the men would like to speak amongst themselves.” Niamh said and looked to Daire with a calm expression. “I would be delighted to see your gardens, if that is alright with you, Lord Knight?” Niamh was being overly polite she felt but of course, it was better to be overly polite then rude. She also glanced to Hercine and gave a soft smile. She had a feeling Hercine wouldn’t be for it, but Niamh thought that there might be away to escape from Seraphine….unless she tried to stick to them like glue.

Once the petty talk for land appeals and aid to certain sectors was done, the more pressing matters began to unfold. It started with recent rebellion arriving from the front of the Siren capitol, demanding resources to their people who were in disarray in militia rule and feeling oppressed. The oppression was only necessary however, as Cearuil and few generals decided. They were war victims yes, but people that served under their corrupt king. Till they could be proven trust worthy the Atlantican militia would not relinquish its hold, and certainly not to someone the people elected. Which brought his attention to an ambassador taking the stand, a man that was obviously Siren. He had no presence of gills on his sides but along his neck and jaw and his teeth were more carnivorous and his eyes were just an ebony black with no pupil. There was no tail since they had little use for them. In fact the creature looked a lot more fish like with its vibrant scales coating its body in decorated patches. The room grew suddenly louder in mutters and passed suspicions since this was the first meeting held in the Atlantic, since the war, that a Siren was allowed to speak at. It was a surprise still to Cearuil that after the little stint with Elena that any Siren would be allowed here. "The council of the Atlantic allows Faris, a lord of the once formed Siren congress to speak on behalf of the people of the Pacific." The Siren male smiled, sending a spike of almost unease through Cearuil. He wasn't used to being civil with these people, not after he watched them slaughter innocents and soldiers alike during the war. Hell to watch their own Emporer devour a Meru spy as a warning to the Atlantic in their time of war was already enough to make Cearuil view them as very little more than beasts. He watched the man bow and actually step back from the stand. "I will not be speaking today. I believe that is my Lady's duty..." A woman came in through the doors, dressed in flowing silks and beautiful gold and jade bangles that looked similar to that dowry jewelry placed on an indian bride. Her scale pattern was different, one of tones of jade and gold that made her glitter in the low light. She made her way to the stand and bowed to the Council members, her black eyes unblinking. "I do not need Faris to speak for me, High Council. I find myself eloquent enough." She then actually looked in Cearuil's direction, head inclining slightly. "If I may your grace." Cearuil gripped the arm of his chair, remembering the woman as clear as day. This was the Siren emperor's daughter, Nadia. She was the sole survivor of her family only because she 'surrendered' on the grounds her father would not be harmed. Well...both Nadia and Cearuil knew how that ended... Cearuil's eyes narrowed before he nodded stiffly allowing Nadia to speak, not that she cared. "I am sure most Atlantican's view us as monsters after recent differences between the Atlantic and the Pacific. Those difference tore the oceans apart, staining our oceans red...Well I hope to clear these stains and to help rebuild my people from their suffering. I wish to appeal to the courts to take my place back on the throne of the Pacific." The room was all noise again till a high council man spoke. "And what grounds do you believe you are worthy of that position?" Nadia looked to the council member, her black eyes holding an almost soulless quality despite her attempts at civility that was all too practiced in Cearuil's eyes. "I am my father's daughter, a man beloved to the people. The people will look to me for guidance, many speak my name in their homes. You are aware that I have surrendered to the Atlantic, I can help sway the situation there and boost our support for the Atlantic. We only wish for peace and to regain our status as a thriving nation..." Cearuil watched her continue to spew her lies and looked positively pissed, most because he was surprised people were actually sympathizing with her. Some of the noblemen actually looked swayed by the Siren's sob story of desolation and the necessity to rebuild. It was sickening... ~~~ Daire eyed Seraphina at her request to get the girl's alone. The woman seemed to be serious about wanting to spend time with just the girls. He knew her better than that. He was up to something. She was always up to something. Even in their time together she was always batting those lashes and putting on the best show so she could get everything her heart desired. She even looked Daire's way with a delicate smile, a blissful little up turn of her lips that he remembered all to well. It left a subtle ache in his chest that made him look away, instead to Niamh. She wasn't looking at him, all the better, but he really didn't want her to leave for some reason. Not just because the idea of her being alone with Seraphina actually worried him, but because she was only one here he actually cared to be around-- The thought surprised Daire, so much so that he actually pulled his hand from Niamh's. He had to get his mind in the right place, so maybe it was best they separated for a brief period. "I actually would love to hear a little more about your mining business Lord Kinight. I fear that topic would be too one sided for the ladies." Daire said and Seraphina gave a pleased giggle. Hercine shot Seraphina a look that could peel paint before she looked to Niamh with an eased look of questioning at Niamh's approval to go anywhere with the woman. However, Hercine would hardly subject Niamh to that walk alone and resigned herself with a nod. "I would like some fresh air." Hercine said and Anthony gave a rather complacent nod. "I don't see why not. Please try to be careful not to lose our guests. The garden really is quite large." Seraphina placed a small kiss on Anthony's cheek before she rose, offering Daire a bow before she turned swishing her way into the hall that was underwater. Her legs shifted giving way to a tail that was colors of oranges, yellows, and rich reds, almost like a sunset. Her blonde tresses caught the water as she spun to take Hercine's arm, as if she were closer to the girl than Hercine let on. "Come the garden is this way." She said to Niamh with a soft smile before she swam along all but dragging a very unwilling Hercine. They eventually came to a pair of open doors that were held open by a pair of servants that looked all too strictly poised when Seraphina passed, as if she were a shark. They didn't dare ease their posture around her... The garden was an expansive space that looked to be a crumbling greek courtyard, complete with statues of goddess's long forgotten and creeping with corals and sea life. Ocean flowers bloomed from rocks and between stones, making the place look almost like a paradise had the colors not been a bit much to take in at first. "It was originally Anthony's mother's garden, till I added a few personal touches. The knight family had ties to the Mermidian's near Greece. Hence the architecture taken from Atlantis in fact." She said to Niamh, releasing Hercine who had since grown still. The girl looked around the area and almost seemed to have to take a moment to compose herself. Seraphina raised a well manicured hand to Hercine's cheek, patting it as if consoling a child. "Aw my dear, I'm sure this must be nostalgic...I wish I got the privilege to meet your mother. Anthony tells me you take after her in beauty, little Hercine." She said before she looked to Niamh with a rather easy smile. "You are very pretty as well, Lady Niamh. I love the golds in your hair... Though I'd expect nothing less for a friend of Prince Daire's...He was always intrigued by pretty things that glittered." She said before giving a small wave of her hand. "But enough talk of trivial things. I wish to get to know you, Lady Niamh. You must be quite interesting if Hercine seems so taken with you." Hercine's eyes narrowed as Seraphina swam close to Niamh and actually forwardly linked arms with her so that they could take up a drifting swim through the gardens. Hercine stayed close but she was watching Hercine mostly, waiting for the claws to come out that she could feel were just in waiting.

Aslief listened to the Siren speak and he had a heated look on his face. When she was going on and saying such things that he knew wouldn't ever happen he knew he had the power to say something since he did have a bit of sway here for a human- he was a war general and had an impressive military as well as a military track record. Standing up he raised his voice to voice his strong displeasure of her words and her even being there honestly. "I will never accept these things you are spewing. Lies and Deceitful thoughts! We all know that war can not be forgotten so easily when so much was wronged." He said eliciting quite a few agreed shouts from the room of other military meru and men. Maria's eyes went wide when her father stood up and began berating this Siren. She didn't personally care- she hated court and this was dis interesting to her but her father surprised her- she never saw him like this.
---------- Vin knew who had spoken out against this without even turning around. He knew how he felt however, he didn't feel it was right to tell this child no when she was correct she was heir. Vin himself was on the council however he felt it necessary to give a different point of view to Maria's father who was a well matched military man, for a human he was quite talented. "Yes, Lord Alsief however would you deny your own child your effects and titles- would you deny your own heir just because of a few vendetta's?" he responded calmly however that made a few others angry and they yelled out their thoughts in anger however Alsief spoke again, "If it was demanded Yes I would. We are a proud people- they can't just come into our courts and try to sweet talk their way back into our folds and gain power while we blindly ignore a new impending threat!" Vin actually turned around to look at him, his expression hard as he looked over his calm expression that was rather serious.

Niamh glanced at Daire when he took his hand from hers in a rather sudden movement. It was a bit odd, but her mind took her thoughts away from it and towards Seraphina whose giggle reminded Niamh of a spoiled little girl. The expression on Hercine’s face nearly made Niamh laugh at how opposite the two were. It seemed the she disliked her brother’s wife quite profusely. There must have been a reason for that. After Hercine and Seraphine rose, Niamh did as well. She gave Daire a small smile and nod before turning to Anthony and curtsying politely. “Thank you for your company.” Niamh said and gave him one of her tradition charming smiles. She left quickly, following the women out of the aired room and into a hall that was underwater and more to Niamh’s tastes. Niamh’s pale and slender legs shifted into the blue and gold patterned tail that many mistook for a Meridian’s. She held a look of relief on her features as her gills took in their first gulp of water. She did prefer the water much more than the air. Not only did it dry her out, it made her feel heavy on her feet, though since she had trained in water most of her life, it was easier to move in and therefore easier to make a kill if you knew what you were doing. It surprised Niamh when Hercine was suddenly pulled close to Seraphina who practically drug her sister-in-law towards the gardens. Niamh followed them as her eyes looked around at the halls and extra rooms. Though she was constantly observing, her features held a sympathetic expression for poor Hercine whom she felt bad for. Blinking as they came up to open doors, Niamh noted that the servants didn’t seem comfortable around their mistress, in fact it almost felt as though there was fear coming off of them. It led Niamh to an even more sound conclusion that there was something nasty hidden underneath of the bubbly and innocent girl that Seraphina pretended to be. She acted like her namesake but Niamh got the feel that she was anything but. The garden looked as though it had come from a Grecian city that had slipped into the ocean. It was beautiful, though some of the colors and textures were a bit much sitting next to each other. Niamh listened; actually intrigued by the information that Seraphina gave about the garden. It was interesting to hear, especially about Atlantis. She nodded with a pleasant smile, though she looked to Hercine who seemed to have stilled. Niamh movde to her and put and hand on her shoulder with a smile. Her attention, however, was once more pulled to Seraphina. Niamh moved back from the two, though the way she spoke to Hercine made Niamh a little irritated. She wasn’t a child to be spoken down to in such a manner. Seraphina’s attention quickly shifted from Hercine though and to Niamh who returned her easy smile with one of her own. It grew some and Niamh looked down as though embarrassed, though in reality she was just composing her features for when she looked up, which was needed at Seraphina’s words of Daire being intrigued by things that glittered. It seemed innocent on the outside but Niamh wondered if it was meant to place a hint of doubt in her mind of whether or not Daire was her friend and liked her for her. She took it at face value and gave an innocent smile as she looked Seraphina in the face. “Thank you very much, Lady Seraphina.” She replied with politeness. It was a bit uncomfortable when Seraphina drew closer to her, actually taking her arm so that they could swim together as friends. Niamh would love to do this with a friend and if she hadn’t been worried about Seraphina’s intentions, she would have been glad, but her instincts were telling her that there was a shark amongst them and for once it wasn’t her. Niamh glanced at Hercine and noticed her narrowed eyes. It worried Niamh, but she knew there was really nothing Seraphina could do to physically hurt her, which meant the woman was probably quite proficient at psychologically messing with others. “Oh, I wouldn’t say that there is much to me,” Niamh said with a light laugh, “though it pleases me that you would think that.” She sighed some and put on a thoughtful expression. “I suppose I could say that one interesting thing about me is that I enjoy dancing in my spare time.” She shrugged her shoulders some and looked to Seraphina. “I would also say that I am fairly honest in my intentions, which may be why Hercine and I get along.” She glanced at Hercine and gave her a wink in a manner that Seraphina would have been unable to see it.

Nadia's eyes flicked to the human that spoke out against her. It disgusted her frankly, mostly because the Sirens were a culture that wanted nothing to do with the human race. It was part of the reason there was such a disconnect between the Pacific and the Atlantic. The Sirens once viewed humans as prey, much like mindless cattle, while the Mermidians were more forgiving. They allowed the human's to their world and incorporated them to the best of accommodation. Most believed it was because the Oracle who originally ruled over the Mermidians, prophesized the humans being an asset to making the Atlantic, once encompassing large portions of the Arctic all the way to the southern ocean more powerful, and in truth, they did. They helped to create the Meru race and worked to build stronger relations with the surface. So as she watched Alsief stand and speak against her, Nadia's lips curled into a fanged slightly menacing smile. "So the Atlantic allows humans into its court rooms?...How revolutionary." She said, drawing her eyes to Vin who spoke in her defense at least for her claim and legitimacy to her throne. "My fellow peers...This human lord probably shares the same sentiment as many of you, but you are mistaken. I never once raised a hand in the war your ocean began and the fight my people lost. We are broken and my people are crying out for a care that the current militia rule cannot provide--" "You will not be given the throne to the Pacific." Nadia tensed and her head turned in Cearuil's direction, her black eyes making for a rather intimidating picture against her rather feral beauty. "Then who, Prince, do you intend to take control of my people?" Cearuil gave her an almost nonchalant shrug. "Someone who is qualified. Your father was a tyrant, your people brainwashed. You have no better claim to the throne than he did." Nadia's body tensed and she frowned in anger. "You have no right..." She snarled and he raised a brow at her. He gave her a smirk and everyone began arguing, the council having to bring them down. ~~~ Hercine was glad to have Niamh there. She made dealing with Seraphina so much easier, only because she seemed to understand the woman wasn't what she appeared to be. She was a jealous heartless shrew, one that manipulated her way into her brother's life so she could get back into societies lime light. She always treated Hercine kindly in front of others but was hardly less than cruel behind closed doors. Hercine felt it was because her brother doted on his sister much more than he did his wife, so she kept Hercine away so she could have the attention and control of the family funds. When Niamh made that comment about being honest with her intentions, Hercine blinked and smirked shook her head. Seraphina's eyes intensified at that comment. Was she getting at something? Seraphina knew exactly why Hercine was friends with this girl. She thought herself smart for a whore and would use that to some sort of advantage...Seraphina however was more influential and smarter than her. She would knock her down a few pegs. She laughed a bit, as if what she said was a joke. "I'm sure you are. Though its awfully hard to tell who is clear in their intentions however. I'm sure you've met plenty of people in your time around the courts that like to play games..." She said before shaking her head like it was sad. Hercine gave her a sniff. "You have little faith in people. I have only met a few who play games." Seraphina gave her sister in law a smile. "Oh my dear, that is because they didn't play the game well."

Maria's eye twitched like her fathers when the siren said letting humans about was a new thing that was almost unheard of. That made her mad- her father had served in their war in fact made a huge impact on its outcome with what he did. He was a hero and she had no right- even as a sore loser to slander him. her fists were clenched however she was about to stand up and give her a piece of her mind however Issaic took hold of her hand and shook his head, right after that the room was full of arguments as the Prince even disagreed to this. --- Vin looked almost annoyed however when Cearuil spoke out against the Siren he smirked since he knew how the young Prince felt having seen this war. "Please Cearuil. Calm down- this will get us no where." He said to him before moving to stand in front of the main part of the room and clapped his hands in the water and made a large water pull- almost like a person putting a wind blower in a bucket of water. The water pushed heavily down making it hard for ones gills to work- he kept it off of the prince and the council however he let everyone else have it. It silenced the room almost instantly besides a few disgruntled remarks and shouts of shock. "Now, Its time for the counsel to speak on the matter. You have voiced you opinions. If needed we will vote- however stay to your seats." He said implying they needed to stay quiet as well. --------- Asleif shook his head and was forced to sit down when the water shifted so suddenly, It felt like a crushing pressure that was taken away in a second however it was still surprising. "Damned fish..." He muttered turning to see Maria was glaring at the Siren in front of the room just off to the left of Sir Vin. Issaic looked uncomfortable however he wasn't touching Maria anymore, so it seemed like normal.

Niamh raised a brow at Seraphina’s laugh. She was a bit taken aback that she was going for thinking Niamh was joking. It was something childish, though Niamh understood that this was how Seraphina seemed to work. The pretty woman took the game of being a lady of high status to the highest level possible. Niamh could do that though, especially because she often came across as a superficial girl with little to no mind power. How wrong that assumption would be. “I tend not to play the games that others set out.” Niamh said a bit coyly and looked to Hercine. “I don’t like to be held back by the petty rules of society.” She chuckled some, the girlish laugh she normally gave, a bit darker and more amused. “But, of course, it is impossible to outrun.” She blinked slowly before turning back to Seraphina with a smile that could dazzle even a prince if she presented herself with such confidence normally. “I take it that you are an avid player? You must be considered quite good, hm?” Niamh was playing with Seraphina here. She wasn’t going to be pulled in so easily. There were few things the woman could say to ruffle Niamh’s practiced composure.
((Sorry it's short. The next one will be better. =/))

The chamber was subdued by Vin's actions, even the two Sirens felt the effects of the water, their gills fanning in discomfort. Nadia and Cearuil stared each other down, the woman looking like she wanted to tear his throat our and the smirk on his face tempting her to try. It would do him a great pleasure to end that bastard's bloodline here and now. However the council pacified the situation by allowing a member to speak. "It is in our order to hear out the Siren's appeal. We have deliberated that in sight of rebuttal and the current situation that further consideration is necessary. Nadia is not exempt from her holding to the throne, but it will be addressed that more consideration be placed on care for our current military state." Nadia looked livid and her response came all too quickly. "In your king's absence, where is the crowned prince? Shouldn't he be the one here to speak on such issues?" Nadia asked, dismissing Cearuil for the councils words. Cearuil gave her a quick narrow of his eyes and opened his mouth to say something. However a council man spoke first. "Both princes have the power of vote in our time of loss Lady Nadia. The eldest prince was asked away for important business." She bowed to the council room, her eyes flicking back to Cearuil. "Thank you for your time great council...I will draw up the necessary documentation for the capital's necessities." She left with her servant at her heels, obviously furious at the turnings of the government. "She was allowed to leave...with hope for a crown..." Cearuil muttered, knowing Vin could hear him as he seethed. If he had been king he would have ordered the woman to be executed for assumed discent of the ruling party. ~~~ Seraphina's grip on Niamh's arm tightened briefly, her smile easing into a sort of prideful look, despite Niamh's obvious combating. She didn't like those that liked to fight. She preferred not to get her hands dirty with peons. She battered her eyes at Niamh's words about not liking rules and that she preferred not to play games. Fair enough, but obviously this woman hadn't been involved in their society long. Women of high social class held no power, in fact the only power they held was the wallet and wit. They were the hostesses, the charmers, the husband's trump card for business and the controlling entity of the house hold. Seraphina took that very seriously. She embodied the times of women, was the face of the perfect wife to the other court women. People envied her, saw her and shyed away because they couldn't be her. And they believed in that perfection because she knew her place and the system. She played the system to her advantage and gained from it. Sure she was majorly burned by it, but that was a set back she rose from. She picked herself up after her time away to be reeducated and became the wife to a very prominent family despite the children being social recluses, she worked her way into the courts eye, and even had a prince wrapped around her finger. So Niamh thought she was "I hardly think any woman escapes reality, Lady Niamh." She said her smile easy though her eyes held a cold bite to them. She however was seemingly polite on the outside, looking as innocent as a lamb. "There is an art to socialization that every woman must know to survive. None are exempt to that rule. Smart women learn that quickly, and I can tell you're very bright, dear. No I think you are player yourself, though it is hard to tell if we are pawns instead." She then released her arm to get a good look at her. "I do love your dress. It must be new. Was it a gift?" She said looking to Hercine who was rather surprised at how the two actually had a solid back and forth going. "Hm I don't think it would suit you Sera..." She said and Seraphina's eyes narrowed ever so slightly. "I was just curious. If so I would be surprised that Daire's tastes improved." She said her voice sweet but her intentions harsh.

Vin heard Cearuil mutter and he sighed knowing the Prince had a bit extreme views however he was right to have them. He put a hand on his shoulder and leaned in to speak with him in private." Cearuil- how about you take a break? I'm sure htings here will be fine for a bit in your absence. You need to calm down." he said hoping he took his advice on this. ----------- Maria glared at the siren as she left thinking she was still going to get what she was denied. She stood up herself and left, her father not too far behind her. Both were hot headed and needed a break away from such tense waters. Once out the main door- both went a different direction since she was still mad at her father for inviting Issaic to sit with them in the meeting she really didn't want him near her at all any more and this siren mess was making her week just great it semed,

“Oh, but I never said anyone could escape reality. It is what drives us and makes us do what we do.” Niamh replied, having ignored the tightening to her arm, acting as it had never happened. She wasn’t going to point out that she could tell Seraphina wasn’t the cute woman she played at being. Niamh knew how she thought and where she got her thinking from. She believed in the power of the wife from behind the lines of play. She was most likely one of the women that thought the power of the wife came from directing her husband and playing the wives and daughters of her husband’s business associates. Niamh was of a different thought, but there were other times to discuss such a matter. Niamh let Seraphina talk though and looked to her as she was let go of. She smiled brightly, looking down at her dress with a fond expression that wasn’t faked. “Thank you, Lady Seraphina.” She replied before looking up, Hercine’s words seemed to not settled with Seraphina very well. Niamh shouldn’t have been, but she was a bit surprised that the pretty woman directly went after the dress thinking it was a present from Daire. It was, but Niamh wasn’t sure why exactly Seraphina would think that. “It was a gift, but I was the one to pick it out.” She paused but then her face furrowed into a curious and rather innocent expression. “Though, I must ask why you would think the Crowned Prince would have anything to do with it.” She wasn’t denying that Daire had bought it for her, merely trying to get what Seraphina was toying with.
