It seemed like just this morning he was off to another normal day, and now here Zachary was following Sel into the depths of New York. Or, as she so poetically put it, the 'marvelous city of steel and stone'. He should have found her words odd, since she didn't use English to the bare minimum of possibility that the others around them did. It was definately a fresher perspective of such a wild place. "About two years. It seems like such a short amount of time though. I guess it's because I wasn't exactly expecting to end up here." He said, walking along with her and letting her lead, "But I've enjoyed the time here." He said then remembered the blip on her screen. She'd said it was a someone right? "So this person you're looking for, a friend from your travels?" He asked curious just what this person would be like if she had to be tracking him down with some weird machine.

Well two years was a good amount of time to spend in one place, Seledine thought. Though of course her opinion was biased. She never stayed in one place for too long if she could help it. "This place seems to drag people from all over into its grasps. Of course, that is also one of the things that makes this city so entertaining." She commented and then asked, "How did you end up here then?" It was a very innocent question, something you would normally expect in an every day conversation, however the way Sele said it made it seem as if she was searching for more in how he answered.
Crossing the street at one point, they were honked at, Seledine not even looking up to see where she was going half of the time, eyes now glued to the screen. The two glowing dots were much closer together now, it would only be a bit until they got to where they were supposed to go. The little bit of a quirky smile that was on Seledine's lips slipped some when Zach asked her about who they were going to find. "Well, he is tall with red hair and when I say red I mean bright, neon red..." She described him, emphasizing how brightly neon his hair was. Her smile came back though and she skipped a little bit. "He isn't really a friend though. More of say, someone who I need to have a little chat with. He can be a bit nasty at times but I highly doubt that Big Red will want to brawl today." Shrugging her shoulders, she stopped suddenly and looked up at Zach, smiling widely. As always, excitement was on her face. The two blips on the map were on top of each other, the only way to go was down though as the subway entrance was right next to them.
"Care to go for a bit of a run?" She questioned, giving him one last chance to back down. Her hearts were speeding up already, she was ready and excited, anticipating what was to happen. She didn't know and was oh so eager for excitement. After all, what was a two hundred year old alien supposed to do, sit in her ship and play solitaire? Closing the machine, she stuck it in one of her pants pockets, still seeming impossible for how small the pockets were, compared to how big the contraption was. There was a strong scent of cooking food, reminding Seledine that she hadn't eaten in quite some time, mentally shaking her head she made a note: I am definitley getting some food after this...

Zachary felt the breeziness of her words yet they were quick to the point. He like that also she shared his thoughts of the city. It made him feel a little less like an outsider with strange beliefs. After all he was practically an outsider in his body and mind.
"To be honest, I have no idea." He said, to answer her question to how he got there as well as sum up his thoughts. When they reached the subway he the subway he could hear the sound traveling up from the lighted pit of stairs. He'd avoided the subway after being here for two years. He disliked the idea of being enclosed in a space, packed so tightly with no escape from even the most obnoxious people. And Sel was offering to run throughout there?
"It's packed down there by now. It will be hard to get around down there walking, much less-" He ran a hand through his hair then looked her over. If she wanted to run, he had the sense she would do it. She anticipated an answer not a lecture and he knew he would give her one.
"...Sure. I need the exercise and it will be something different." He said, hoping he had better allotted grace. "I just hope this person is easy to find, or spot in a crowd."

When Zach told her that he had no idea how he had ended up in this city, she had to smile with a glint of mystery in her eyes. "Makes it much more like an adventure, doesn't it." She commented, leaning towards him. Her tone held a laugh in it. Seledine seemed much to excited then was normal but that was what made it so interesting to be around her or so she had been told by various people.
Quirking an eyebrow at Zach's response to running in the underground subway, Sele knew perfectly well how crowded it wasn't. She must have been giving off an air of not caring because he stopped mid-sentence and agreed to go for it. He added a comment about hoping the one they were looking for being easy to find. Rolling her eyes, she grabbed his shirt and pulled him close to him. Leaning forward she whispered in his ear, "Watch me." Giving him a wink as she pulled away, Seledine grabbed his hand and pulled him down the stairs.
Quickly the sound of a crowd assaulted her ears. She was comfortable in all situation and new how to break through crowds. Let's just say she had some practice in the past few years. Holding onto Zach's hand tightly so that she wouldn't loose him, she took a sharp left. Taking a deep breath of the air, she glanced at Zach. The air stank of sweating bodies, rotting food, and urine though upon further examining the scents, Seledine caught a whiff of a nonhuman stench and began to break through the crowd. It wasn't long till they had come to a break towards the back wall, a man sitting on a bench with a black hat on. Strands of what looked to be dyed hair were peaking out from underneath. It was somewhat amazing really, she hadn't even looked around, took a direct rout there. There hadn't been any running yet but of course, that came after she got his attention.
"Hey Yo'naltha!" She said loudly, standing in front of the red haired man. Looking up with an annoyed expression, the man froze for a moment before a look of anger and fear crossed his face. His eyes were burnt orange in color, obviously colored contacts right...wrong. Yo'natltha stood, his height at about seven feet, he toward over Sele though she didn't seem intimidated at all.
"Seledine..." His voice was rough and had a very odd accent to it. His eyes turned to Zach for a moment but were back on the ginger haired girl quickly. "I wasn't expecting you to come see me so soon. Are you ready to die now?" It as quite the menacing sounding threat coming from such a large and strange looking character, however Seledine just laugh. "Oh, just like the good old times right Yo'na." She commented, earning a frown from the giant. "I actually came here to talk. Seeing as you don't seem to be with transportation, I thought I could help you out in exchange for you to stop trying to sabotage me." Seledine offered this in a very polite manner, almost business like in a way. This earned a grunt from Yo'naltha and then some rather fiery words, "I would rather be stuck on this shit infested planet until the sun burns up than accept help from a coward like you." He was obvious appalled at her offer but Seledine just shrugged.
"Suit yourself", Seledine shrugged her shoulders and turned around. Turning to Zach, she mouthed the word 'RUN!' and took off. There was a yell behind them that caused almost everyone in the vicinity to look up from what they were doing. "Seledine! Don't you run away! You did this to me now get back here!" Yo'naltha yelled and a few people behind Zach and Seledine screamed as the giant fiery haired man plowed his way through the crowed. A laugh emitted from the ginger girl, something one wouldn't expect when being chased by a seven foot angry man. But hell, Seledine wasn't exactly normal. ((Let me know if this is alright. I can change it if not.))

Zach hardly expected Sel to suddenly pull him close or know exactly why she felt the need to whisper to him. He just knew that the simple contact of her taking his hand and leading him down into the depths was eye opening for him. It brough back that odd feeling as well as a realization that he would follow her anywhere she asked him to go. He of course realized that wasn't rational and that where she may take him may be even stranger than she seemed. But did he actually care? Very little, if he was honest with himself. When they hit the crowd, he felt the smells and sounds attack his senses first. Yet the people parted like the sea for her, her movements so sure where she was going and finding the fastest way to her target. Little did he expect her target to be a man, a rather large one. Zach listened to the exchange, her greeting chipper compared to his sour look. This...Yo'naltha stood up and instantly Zach was taken aback by how large he really was. Though he towered over them, infact even threatened her, Sel didn't even seemed fazed. Infact she was perfectly calm when dealing with him, even offered him transportation. He wasn't sure why, but Yo'naltha would have none of that, in fact he seemed more sickened by the idea than Zach imagined. What's worse Sel took his answer and turned back to face Zach, mouthing one word he had been dreading in the back of his mind. 'Run?' He was at first lost but the when he looked back at Yo'naltha, his gut sensed the urgency. He turned tail and ran, following after Sel for lack of another idea of what to do with a giant man chasing her, that wanted to hurt her. And yet she was laughing? As insane as that sounded, she seemed to be having fun at the thought of the chase. The again should he have expected anything different? "I don't know if this is the time to be asking questions but," Zach began, after they'd broken through the crowd of people and he heard the shouts and screams coming from behind them, "what did you do to piss him off?"

Zach asked Seledine a question after they had broken through the crowed. Making a beeline for the stairs, she turned her eyes towards him and smirk. "Me? Do something? Oh no, I just happened to get his older brother and sister incarcerated for illegal drug trade that was causing quite a few problems with the locals." She somehow managed to shrug her shoulders as she made it up the stairs, her words had only been a bit choppy due to the running but it seemed like she was used to this kind of thing. She had made it sound like it had been no big deal but it was obvious that he had not taken it well at all.
Reaching the top of the stairs, Seledine turned to see where Yo'naltha was. Due to his big size, he had been able to break through the crowd easily with force. He was just starting up the stairs when he caught sight of them. Giving him a mock salute, Seledine began running again. "I love a good chase. It can be so exhilarating." She breathed while crossing the street. She was heading back to her big blue box, trying to keep in sight with Yo'naltha. She was leading him on of course, what better way then to allude to the aliens sense of a chase. His species so did love to hunt, though their habitat was more of a sandy desert full of orange and red cacti, forest full of incredibly odd plants of the oddest colors. It really was a pretty place, if you weren't attacked by the inhabitants while gazing around.
They were almost back to where she was heading for, her breath was still quite even though it was beginning to sound a bit labored. There usually was more intervals between running instead of long distance. Alas, it was still quite fun for Seledine. Glancing over, she looked to see how Zach was doing. Hopefully he wouldn't freak out when and if he figured out what was really going on...you know the whole alien thing...

Message bodyHe should have known she would answer with something like that. That Sel had single handedly caused that large man trouble that left her as good as dead when racing with this guy. He had longer legs, though Zach felt hardly tired while running, for some reason never quite getting too winded, he knew it wouldn't be too long till they were over taken by this guy. That's when he realized they were running back the way they came, in the opposite direction of a police station and back towards the cafe and hospital. He was worried by Sel's choice of direction and wanted to turn and go in the other direction. But he kept up with her, not having much of a choice at the moment. It was indeed exhilarating but the kind that made him feel her same joy was a bit far fetched. He would just have to see if his gut had been right about Sel, that he really did honestly trust her, past the idea of being killed by a giant red haired, orange eyed man.

Rounding a corner, Seledine and Zach almost ran into someone but she jumped up, raising her arms like and arch; somehow they didn't collide. A snort of a giggle escaped Sele as she looked behind her, Yo'naltha was almost caught up to them now, his height and speed giving him a good advantage in distance running. As they came upon the alley way with the blue box in it, Seleding made a sharp turn into it, stopping in front of the police box.
Moments later, the giant alien stepped through, a malicious smile was on his face. "You can't out run me Seledine. You and your little time box can not compare with my prowess." He began, sounding awfully cocky and arrogant. Biting her lip some, Seledine glanced at Zach. "But the thing is, Yo'nal...You don't have any of your prowess here. You are stuck and you know it. But I am offering to help you. I can take you home." Sele told him, stepping forward and letting go of Zach's hand.
Seledine was always a reasonable person. She would try her best to work out something with Yo'Naltha. He was hurt emotionally and desperately lost. That wasn't a good mix and Sele didn't want him running amok on a place like earth.
"I will never accept help from you!" The red haired alien spat out, reaching into his large green coat, he pulled out a very oddly shaped gun. Seledine pushed Zach up against the blue police box right as Yo'naltha shot at them...Nothing reached them though as what seemed to be lasers were absorbed into an invisible field protecting them. "Yo'naltha, I am warning you. Put that away and let me help you." Seledine's voice was much more serious now, her pale green eyes turning darker, her hair beginning to streak with a darker ginger color. She didn't like him shooting at them, especially with Zach here. She didn't want him to be harmed right away. Of course, that was why she had gone to her ship in the first place. It was safe.
A howl of rage came from Yo'naltha as he began shooting more, nothing reaching the missiles intended targets. Finally running out of ammo, Yo'naltha started walking towards them, sheer hatred and rage on his face. "Don't come closer Yo'nal." Seledine warned, standing in front of Zach now. The look on the males face though showed that he had no signs of stopping. A deep sigh emitted from Seledine, one of sadness and regret. "I didn't want to do it this way. This is your own fault." She muttered and pushed Zach away from the doors of the police box, opening them as soon as he was clear. She jumped out of the way, a bright blue light beamed out of it and Yo'naltha vanished from sight, the sound of anguish leaving with the diminishing of the light. Standing up after crouching, Sele looked towards Zach, her hair and eyes fading back to normal. She really hadn't wanted to do that. Of course she didn't kill him, far from it. He had been sent to the police or rather the Judoon for his crimes. Looking inside of her ship, she turned back to Zach. Now how to deal with the human. If he did well than it would be wonderful! If not well then that would be not so fun. There went a trip to the Jurassic Period she had planned. ((Oh, I hate it when that happens.))

The human, Zach, in this situation, was thoroughly…was it amazement, fear or a mix of the two that hit his features at once. Zach didn’t know what the heck to think or feel at the moment, he barely even remembered what day it was or exactly what just took place here. They’d been running right, normal start…Sure being shot at was no walk in the park, but he didn’t expect to wind up in front of a police box-scratch that a magical police box- that had force fields. Oh and let’s not forget the giant laser shooting out of its doors. How could he forget that detail? In fact how could he forget to think that the person involved in all this, that the weirdness revolved around, was Sel. He looked up at her, staring at her with wide startled eyes. In the middle of all this she looked so calm, perfectly at place as if none of it fazed her. But should it have? She’d known this was going to happen the entire time didn’t she? But-how could something like this even exist? This didn’t happen in everyday life, or at least not as far as he could see or remember, people just didn’t show up in towns looking for hot headed giants to just end up making them disappear with a lazer out of a police box. That kind of thing shouldn’t happen. Oh, but it did, and him sitting there trying to deny it wasn’t going to solve anything but just to confuse him. But she simply stared at him. Shouldn’t she have known he would have been lost or confused after all that? If not, then why did she bring him into it? Was she going to do that to him too? Wait-then why would she have bothered with him this entire time? Sel didn’t seem like the sadistic toying type. He paused for a moment before he pushed away from the wall he’d braced himself against. He didn’t know exactly why he wanted to get closer to that alien box but he felt a drive to get near it, that maybe it would help him understand rather than feel so confused. Maybe it was just new found curiousity, she would have to forgive his shocked and odd behavior for a moment. When his fingers lightly touched the blue siding of the box he felt something suddenly hit him. It was a flash of a feeling, like he’d gotten from Sel earlier, but this time his vision blurred for a moment, distorting his view of the inside of the box. A voice called into his conscious mind, a familiar female’s voice calling out, “Doctor?” He blinked and pulled his hand away from it, turning back to Sel for some reason. He watched her, waiting for her to ask him something…but then he realized, she hadn’t said anything at all. He swallowed hard, unable to quite take in everything at once, not even the vast void of open space that sat infront of him inside the confides of a little box. “Sel, mind telling me what’s really going on?” He said, his composure fixed but not quite all the way. His eyes still gave away his unease.

Well, Zach had handled it fairly well so far. He wasn't screaming or visibly freaking out. He could speak which was a good sign at least. She had watched him when he had touched her ship. Something seemed to be different or odd with him at first, a hint of recollection in his eyes maybe?-But that couldn't be it, Seledine just putting it off as a shock affecting his system.
"Aww, I was hoping for an: It's bigger on the inside!" She commented in fake awe, trying to lighten his mood and show him that she really was quite the friendly individual. But she smiled softly and reached out towards Zach, attempting to lay her hand on his shoulder. "He isn't dead, first of all. Just sent him away to be punished for his crimes." She explained, deciding that mentioning that Yo'naltha wasn't dead was important. She didn't want him thinking she was some kind of cold merciless killer. Though deep in her mind she flinched at the thought, memories awakening that she tried to push back down and lock away.
"I'm not from here and I don't just mean from the city or the country or even the continent." She began, standing now in the doorway of the big blue box. "Yo'naltha wasn't from here either." Smiling some, Seledine looked up at the sky, the snow had stopped but the cold of the winter air was still there. Breathing out, she could taste the flavor of the air, smell the sickly sweet mixture of aromas coming from the city. Her ears could pick up the sound of traffic coming from a busy street not that far away.
Looking back down at Zach, she cocked her head to the side. "I am a traveler and I can go anywhere." Her voice seemed to be full of hidden meanings, hinting that there was so much more to it than that. As if there were adventures waiting to happen, new people and things to see. There was a whole universe waiting to be looked upon by fresh eyes. "I could take you with me." She offered and held out her hand to him. Zach could be that fresh pair of eyes and the entrance to her ship would be like a portal to a new life. Seledine's eyes seemed to call for Zach, they sparkled with hope and mystery, her smile bright and eager. She wanted him to come, she wanted him to ask questions and make a leap of faith. Seledine was lonely and she wanted HIM to keep her company.

A was offered to him, her hand, and what it meant hit him full force, much like the display earlier had. Sel was not from here, obviously apart of a whole different world. It made sense while also not making sense at the same time. She was a traveler, someone who came and went as they pleased, all facts she had told him. He just never knew that she meant something this big. Oh and it was also nice to know that the other guy wasn't dead. But, if he wanted to say anything he had to first admit something to himself. She was the essesence of what made the odd strange and the new exciting. And what was more intruiging than her travelers tales, was the fact that she offered to share it with him. His words and thoughts of travel came back to him, filling him with that sense of longing. He fought against it, trying to deny the feeling from making a hasty decision. This was big after all... 'You know you want to go with her?' That voice in the back of his mind said, giving its own sly little push in her favor. That favor was the wish for him to take that hand and make that leap and go with her. Everything, from her eyes to her smile drew him in to her, and called him into her waiting path to adventure and mystery. But was that too large a jump for him to make? Would taking that hand be the biggest mistake he's ever made? 'You won't know till you try..Zach..please?' He looked to the hand then back at Sel's face. Slowly, but not hesitantly his hand took her's and he took a step closer to her. "I trust you Sel. Oddly enough, even without much time, I know that I can." He said, though for a fleeting moment he felt a bit of rgret for those words. Trusting someone meant putting yourself in harms way. But when it came to her could he really use any other way to describe what he felt at the moment? He was going to take the leap and it meant he needed someone to help guide him safely. That person was Sel.

Seledine's eyes lit up unlike anything before that day. In fact her whole demeanor seemed to change some for as Zach took her hand, she pulled him into the box and then proceeded to use the momentum to give him a large hug. Rocking back and forth for a moment, she smiled. "Oh, perfect!" She exclaimed, stopping the embrace and pushing Zach away from her so that she could look at him. "You have absolutely no idea how lonely I have been these past few years." She explained as the doors to the ship closed.
She walked away from him and allowed Zach to take in the whole of the ship, figuring that he wouldn't have really responded much at first to his initial look inside. Smiling broadly, she walked around the center consul, the grating underneath of her feet making a bit of noise as she walked. Her hands slid across the wicked looking mess of controls, her eyes glancing lovingly around the whole ship as if she thought of it as a real person, which in a way it was. Her ship was sentient after all.
Stopping back in front of Zach, watching him for his finalized reaction to the whole situation before deciding to just open her grinning lips and ask, "So where do you want to go? You can go any where you want. There is Barcelona, the dogs there are quite funny. Oh! We could go visit Shakespear or maybe the Ood...oh but its cold there and you probably don't want cold..." She spoke or rather began thinking out loud in a rather confusing mixture of planets, constellations, species, and time periods all molded into one, forgetting of course that she had yet to see if he had any questions and Seledine might have just forgotten to mention it was also a time traveling machine...

Zach looked like a kid in a really big candy store, his eyes trying to take in everything as he moved slowly, closer to the center. As Sel spoke he was looking over the buttons letting his eyes take in the odd controls. He smiled slightly at them, half in pure amazement and interest. He had no idea what they did, but something about just seeing what would happen when you pressed it. After all, manuals were useless, or so he believed. Zach hear the rant of places flowing from her mouth and blinked, his brow furrowing in confusion. He looked at the controls and everything around him once more before his eyes came back to Sel. "So this...thing takes you anywhere, even back in time?" He asked, his confusion turning to an almost elation. The possibilites for this travel had to be vast. Insanely so. Maybe he was a bit crazy for agreeing to this, but he actually might have alot of fun with this. 'See, I told you so!' The thought made his want to roll his eyes but he didn't wish for it communicate something to Sel.

"Correctamoondo" Seledine commented with a chuckle. "Any time, any where, whatever you want!" She explained quickly, making it obvious that she wanted him to pick where to go first. She already had a list of places to go to if he said something generic such as: A planet with no water, or whenever dinosaurs were around. Seledine was hoping he wouldn't ask her to choose but if he did, she would have to decide on a few places, the Jurassic period being one of them.
Leaning up against the control consul, she looked around her ship. The heart of the ship, where they were now, really was homey to her but to most it was a shocker. It almost looked in disrepair due to the odd mixture of seemingly random pieces of...well... stuff being used as controls. Seledine liked it though, the random wasn't random to her. They all held a meaning, though it was easier to use when six people were there; that being said the ship herself could do a whole autopilot thing if she fancied.
Taking off her hat and scarf, Seledine stretched her back. Running had given her a second wind of sort, though she was still hungry as she was reminded by a rather obtrusive sound coming from her stomach. That didn't normally happen, one of her eyebrows raising at the sound. Biting her lower lip she smiled and then dug into her pocket, pulling out the trinket from earlier. Setting it down on the consul she sighed, looking to Zach to hear his answer.

Zach stood thinking about that for a moment. Places past through his consciousness, ones that he'd seen in book and on the tv. He'd wanted to see all of them, but again they were all places found on earth. Nothing special or universal, all confind into the box of knowledge he had attained over the last two years. He thought about letting Sel choose, but an internal worry stopped him. Something told him that her form of a fun place might just be something that would cause him to either leave with a few bruises and in a coma of shock. "How about..." He began and the image of a place he'd heard Emily talk about once, came to mind. "The beach? Which ever one you know and like." He said not knowing how the beach could suddenly turn to a bad thing. Emily after all had said it was a fun place to go in the summer, and that maybe one day she might bring him along. But that wouldn't be happening now would it? He sat back against the railing behind him wondering exactly where she would be taking them.
