"And that is the understatement of the day." Seledine commented and laughed a little bit. Before she began listening to the conversations around her, she watched Zach take a drink of the beverage she had ordered him. He seemed to enjoy it and she was right as he commented on its deliciousness. Smiling some in a bit of embarrassment, Seledine licked her upper lip and then wiped off the residing residue.
Taking another sip, this time much more careful about the foam on her upper lip, she had to smile a bit. "Well, not everything. Just quite a bit." Shrugging her shoulders, her pale green eyes turned towards the bartender, a movement of his catching her eyes. However, her ears were now searching for any odd conversation. If anything was amiss, Seledine couldn't help but go out of her way and see what was going on now could she.
Nothing, nothing, boring, oh why would you talk about that in publicl were the thoughts that were going through her mind. It went like this for a while, her drink half way gone before she picked up something a bit odd, her body sitting up strait and her face looking a bit confused and scrunched up. Turning towards Zach she smiled a bit goofy like and turned towards the bartender, calling him over. Time for some questions. ((I know right! I'm going to pm you a recipe that I think will taste like it and look like it ^.^))

(lol I'm just going to italicize his convo that way it kinda gets across what he's saying since I have no idea what to type for the lingo of that area.) Zach was confused and slightly put off when Sel called the guy over there. Of course the bartender walked over to them, after shooting his buddy a 'I told you so' look. Zach felt a slight distaste towards the guy, especially the overly confident and boisterous air he let off, like some of the Italians Zach would have to serve in the coffee shop on odd days. Except this guy was most likely a local to this planet and didn't come over to them to ask for a coffee. He stood by the table, folding his arms as he looked to Sel with curiousity. "What can I do for you, Yola?" Zach noticed how the guys back was practically turned to him, but ddn't feel the slightest bit annoyed by that. More of the fact at the way he kept eyeing Sel like she was some kind of peice of meat. He didn't like that, though he never would act on his dislike, if he knew Sel had something she needed from this person. After all it wasn't really his place to do much of anything, let alone when he wasn't much help at the moment... "Need another drink or are you tired of your friend yet?" He chuckled and Zach got the feeling it was at his expense. He sat back in the chair and waited to see where this was going, and hoped dearly that she would get to the point quickly so the man could leave.

The native's eyes were the main thing that bothered Seledine. HE never had to deal with that because of HIS gender, but alas Seledine worked with what she had. The male was indeed overly cocky but bartenders generally knew what was going on, after all they go to listen in on every bodies conversations.
"Oh, I don't think I will be getting bored with him anytime soon." She began, twirling her ginger hair on one of her fingers. She ignored the custom of yola as she wanted information, not to play a flirting game with a male she had no interest in. "I am curious about something, there seems to be a rumor going around that your god has begun to speak. Things seem to have changed since I was last here, yola." She added the honorific term this time because she wanted him to know that she meant business and wanted good information. She was curious as to what was going on and if he would tell her. She would bite her tongue on her belief of gods.
So far as she knew, these people should not have a talking sea creature. Something was nagging at her, something felt wrong now. Maybe she had been too excited at first to be here with someone that she had neglected to note that the air tasted wrong. Pale green eyes looking at the male, she smiled sweetly. "Please, yola." She added, wanting or rather really craving information. After all this would save her time in digging for information. ((Works for me. I'll do the same for Seledine as it is easier that way =p. Also he can be evil or whatever, it doesn't matter to me. If you need help with what he should say, PM me.))

(hmmm, interesting idea...I might just make him evil lol, give Zach a bit of a "AHA! I knew it!" moment. lol) The bartender seemed taken aback by her mentioning such a thing. Sure, it was hot news here, but with the locals not as much the tourists. He looked her over for a moment before he pulled the chair that was behind him, infront of him so that he could sit in it backwards. "It's true, the great god has spoken, for the first time in quite a long time. A priestess has been spouting the words from the beast. Though they aren't to be taken lightly...The waters been oddly turbulent these days near its lair, it hardly rains, and there is talk that some of the fresh water springs have dried up. But it's mostly rumor." He sighed, tilting his head in the direction of the ocean drop off where the great god was. "Especially about the words the god has said, regarding the increase of tourists on the homeland and the lack of respect for its home..." He looked to Zach who had been listening intently. For some reason Zach's listening had awarded him a few words being translated, but very few. Only enough to realize they were talking about the sea god, but what about it he was in the dark. "Do you really want to know what it wants in retribution for the sins?" He smirked though he looked very uneasy as he looked back to Sel. "A live sacrafice. The first one in history, Yola." Zach didn't like the tense feeling of the atmosphere at their table or the silence lingering between Sel and the bar tender. "Sel..Is something wrong?" Zach asked, looking over the two with a look of concern.

Seledine was quite thrilled that the bartender actually spoke to her and told her what was going on. It was always a good thing to speak to someone like this. They almost always knew what was going on.
As he spoke though, Seledine's brow furrowed, none of it made sense. The priestess and the lack of rain, seemingly the beginning of a drought of fresh water. Saying nothing until the man finished, his mentioning of a live sacrifice was the most disturbing. That was one thing that Sele knew was bad because the inhabitants of this island were incredibly loyal to the god they worshiped and if it asked for a sacrifice...they would almost guaranteedly do it despite there peaceful nature.
When Zach talked, Sele didn't even look at him but put her finger to his lips and shushed him. Her face was thoughtful as she cocked it to the side, her smile gone and a serious aura surrounding her. "Where is this priestess, yola?" She asked the bartender, pulling out the remainder of their shells and putting them on the counter, her finger still on Zach's lips. She did not want him talking right now. She was thinking and wanted the bartenders answer.
There was so much going through her mind right now. Why all of a sudden would the beast speak and even care about the tourists. This planet was treated well by all who came and despite the occasional misfits, it was rather safe. The majority of people here were great citizens, visitors always tried to be on their best behavior and a live sacrifice? That Sele had to go and figure out because she was going to have to stop it if it was to happen. Really though, this was getting more dangerous and the reason the air wasn't tasting right...well that answer was coming soon.

Zack blinked in surprise when Sel suddenly put her finger to his lips, instantly quieting him. Whatever was going on she wanted to listen to what the bartender had to say. She even brought out more shells, lovely ones that even made the bartender give her a smirk. “Not too far from the market area. A make shift building that was built on the rock outcropping, just a short walking distance on the bridge that connects the two parts of the rocks. It’s sacred ground now, the laws state unless you’re a local you can’t just waltz into …But to help a lovely lady like yourself I’d be more than happy to escort you and your friend to her, though I’m not guaranteeing she will actually meet with you..” He said getting to his feet and offering her a hand up. “By the way, my name’s Sid.” He said to her with a smile. Zach was a little hesitant about something. Sure she bribed the guy, but why would he be so open to outsiders about all this? Something just didn’t seem right…

Brow furrowing slightly, Seledine nodded her head at the males words. Removing her finger from Zach's lips, she gave him a smile and a very quick wink before taking the Sid's hand. "That would be very kind of you, Sid. Thank you." Seledine responded, trying out his name. It just felt wrong in her mouth and she had to try and not make it obvious that it left a foul taste.
"My name is Sel and this is Zach." She introduced herselves as was polite, motioning to Zach as was appropriate, along with making sure Zach new to follow them. She would explain things soon enough, when Sid went to go talk to the priestess, however Seledine wasn't so sure that this was going to go smoothly. It didn't feel right. This whole thing just didn't sit well with her. The air was funny and she felt something off with Sid. Reaching out behind her, she let go of Sid's hand and asked for Zach's by wiggling her fingers. His were soooo much better and it was a nerves thing. She liked holding hands when she was unsure, along with bouncing and blabbing on about nothing in particular but, that wasn't going to happen right now. ((Short post is not great ))

((I don't know if you've heard of them yet, but there is a band that does songs about Doctor Who. I think they're pretty legit, a friend showed me them yesterday, though just know they're kinda weird. They're called Chameleon Circuit.)) Zach was feeling lost and uneasy. Something was going on here with this Sea God.And for some reason Sel interested in getting involved. The again, should he be surprised after she’d gotten herself into a spat with that alien giant in New York. Perhaps this would prove to be a similar situation. He let his eyes drift to Sid, his stare assessing. Something just wasn’t right here….A movement caught his eyes and he found Sel’s hand empty and gesturing for him to take it. He felt a bit of relief when he took her hand but worry as well. He could tell in her grip that she felt uneasy aswell, not helping his nerves much when they entered the bridged area that lead to the small sanctuary that wasn’t ornate and in fact looked rather new. A pair of rather large looking men stepped from the die, greeting Sid and the group with glares and quick demands to know why they were there. Sid said something to them and for a moment they seemed to pause and then really take in the two. They looked to each other before taking a step away from the door ato allow them in. “They’ve agreed to your visit. Not for long though..” Sid said, gesturing towards the door. “Apparently I’m not welcome inside. She’d rather see her guests…” Zach looked at the door and then at Sel. He didn’t trust this one bit for some reason and wouldn’t go unless Sel did. ((Kay your turn, lol if you want there to be a real woman in there or just a trap go for it. Honestly, Sid is just paid to find someone to use as a sacrifice, especially when they’re nosy tourists.))

On their walk towards the mysterious priestess, Seledine squeezed Zach's hand before dropping it as they made it to the bridge. The two large brutes were there to intimidate others as Seledine was sure but of course, she looked quite unimpressed and unamused. If anything Seledine looked a bit perplexed. Licking her lips she nodded as Sid said they could pass, though without him, which made her uneasy feeling a bit worse. Though of course, there was always a risk, she just had to chose to take it. "Of course, thank you." She mentioned to Sid before turning to Zach. She opened and closed her mouth a few times as if she was debating on what to say.
She didn't want him to come if it was dangerous but she had a feeling that he would force her to let him come anyways and he should be safer with her then not. So with a bit of a quirky smile, she held out her hand and nodded towards the bridge. "Fancy an adventure?" She questioned him, green eyes sparkling with a mixture of emotions. It didn't feel right, the air tasted wrong and she had no plan, no idea what she was getting into. It seemed that all was as it should be. After all, she had learned from the best head first hitter of all.

(Actually I have an idea) Zach looked to Sel, sensing by the look in her eyes that she honestly had no idea what to do- 'Except push forward.' The thought sounded so chipper despite his unease. But something about an adventure called to him. "Let’s do this.” He said, not loud but rather out of necessity that he felt, he walked along, actually taking up a stride in front of her as they crossed the bridge. He walked up to the large door and pulled it open. It was heavy so it only budged ever so slightly, enough for them to enter. It was pitch black inside so much so when he peeked inside he felt the chill of cold air hit him, and was that the smell of salt water? He took in a breath and he felt that confidence failing him. But a word floated from his lips that made him smile ever so slightly at the confidence it brought. “Geronimo.” He said under his breath before taking a step into the dark room. He looked around his eyes squinting as he tried to look around. He could sense Sel behind him but not as close as he would have liked. “Hm, can’t see a thing….Hey, Sel do you think might not have been such a good idea-“ Before he could finish, the floor seemed to slip out from underneath him with a metallic sliding noise, sending him instantly plummeting downward, making the “ea” portion sound like a loud shout of surprise. In the dark he felt like he fell forever till finally he hit a sort of soft and shifty ground. He groaned as he shifted on his back in pain. He tried to get up and failed when he suddenly slipped on the group bellow him and found his face buried in sand. He pushed away from the sand with a gasp and blinked when he noticed there was light in here. Low light but enough to see that he was in what looked to be a cave, a sea one by the way he could hear water nearby and the smell of salt water was strong. He looked above him and found that there was a dark hole, a well-rounded one like it was dug through with a tool of sorts. “S-Sel?” He called to her, more worried about her than his own self at the moment. (lol I thought a trap would be more fun)

There was a faint rush of memory brought forward by how Zach was behaving. He was walking in front of her now. It wasn't something she let companions do normally, but for some reason, she didn't feel as if it was wrong. For a brief moment her vision blurred as she saw HIM as he had last been. Eyes misting some, she shook her head and her vision went back to normal, as did her usual feelings as where Zach should be; behind her.
However, he was already opening up the doors, she caught up, missing the whispered 'Geronimo.' Stepping up behind Zach, she reached for his shoulder as he spoke but instead, the floor opened up and they both fell. Seledine's breath whooshed out of her, a bit of a squeak coming from her as she fell, hearing Zach as well. Cursing herself for being all sentimental at an important time such as this, she his the ground with a half roll as she corrected herself, glad that the sand was there to cushion her fall, although she did hit her had rather hard. A nasty lump formed and caused her to be a bit dizzy as she sat up. She heard Zach's voice as she her senses came into focus, the sharp taste of salt water on her tongue and the sound of water echoing in the cave. Slowly standing, Seledine noticed the faint light and saw the silhouette of Zach. Walking over to him, rubbing her head she sighed. "You alright Zach?" Seledine questioned, her eyes a darker green then normal.
Looking around, her head ache began to fade and she saw that it almost looked as though this cave was man made. Finley chiseled was the hole that they had fallen through and as she looked around, she noticed that this cave wasn't man made which was odd. Sele hadn't been aware that there was a cavern under the ocean around this part of the planet. Staying close to Zach, she looked towards the sound of where the water was coming from. Eyebrows knit together, she reached into her pocked and pulled out a decent sized flashlight."I'm thinking we should find a way out of here." She voiced out loud. Turning to Zach with a look of curiosity.

"Trust me. I totally agree." Zach said, rubbing his back as he got up."The only way to go is forawrd after all." He walked along side her. "Jeez you'd think they'd make the fall a little better if they took the time to dig this out.." He said as he looked around at the cavern from Sel's light. He was surprised by just how much the girl could fit in her pockets. "I know Sid had something to do with this...but why? It doesn't make any sense for a bartender to want to throw people down a hole." He mentioned when he heard the water growing closer and the walls seeming to grow more moist. Was it just him or was there something..tense about the air here? Like something was getting ready to jump out at them, eatither that or the darkness just swallow them up. He didn't like this feeling, everything in his gut was screaming to turn the other direction but he knew he couldn't. This was the leap he took and it winded him up in more danger...

"I don't think they were expecting visitors so soon." Seledine commented, looking all around, and walking towards the sound of water. She stopped in her tracks though as Zach wondered why the bartender would want them down in a hole. Turning to Zach, she was biting her lip lightly. This wasn't good and hoped that he wouldn't freak out. For some reason though, Seledine didn't think he would. "He sort of told me that the sea god started wanting a sacrifice." Pausing some, her green eyes looked at Zach's own eyes. "Didn't I mention that..."
Scratching the back of her head, she rolled on the back of her heels before turning back around and motioning for him to follow. "Anyways, lets go. There's plenty to see down here and no use staying in one place. Walking forward, she glanced back to make sure Zach was following her. The sound of water was beginning to get louder, though slowly as they progressed.
Seledine's mind was moving quickly as they walked, trying to figure out what was going on and what could have changed these peaceful people those that would use trickery and violence. Someone had to be behind it all, they had to be using their high religious beliefs to brain wash them into thinking what they were doing was right...Nothing seemed to be adding up.

It took all Zach had not to let his jaw drop. "Sacrafice-Did you just say sacrafice?!" He stared after her, wondering just what was going through her head that that sounded like a reason to follow that man to this place. "So you're saying that we might be eaten.....by a giant fish?" He couldn't help his gulp as he looked at the tunnel in a new light. Was this where he was going to die? So quickly? He hadn't even figured out where he was from, let alone if Zachary was even his real name! When they suddenly reached an opening in the tunnel with light, he suddenly felt his stomach clench. What were they going to find? He felt his breath catch in expectance of being attacked by something. Instead he was greated by an open roomed cavern, with a large deep pool of water in the center. Some strange light floated from the water, lighting the entire room. Zach frowned as he looked around the cavern, before his eyes rested on the water. His better judgement told him to stay put but that curiousity pushed him forward. Hesitantly at first, then rather quickly he walked to the waters edge. He leaned over the edge and blinked at the water bellow. It was what looked to be regular water but something seemed off...did it seem like that light was really heavy? like it was pulling at him? He moved away from it, just in time to catch movement in the corner of his eye. He looked back and saw a group of people walking over to them, looking like the people that lived here on this planet locally.. "Oh good-locals!" He said, turning and looking to Sel. "I think they might be here to help!" He was being overly optomistic at this point, since of course he wasn't currently being eaten by a big fish.

Rolling her eyes, Seledine led the way, sighing as he actually did freak a little. Squinting her eyes some when he mentioned 'big fish,' she couldn't help but retort, "Well, it isn't exactly a fish really. I mean its more closely related to---" She had begun as they walked into the cavern, she though was interrupted as a thought crossed her mind and she walked up to the water next to Zach. Sniffing it as she got on her knees, she stuck her finger in it and then promptly stuck her finger in her mouth. 'Interesting,' she thought with a calm look of contemplating on her face; not a look most would think would go with people trying to sacrifice you to a large sea creature.
Her concentration was broken as Zach exclaimed that people were here and he thought they were here to help. Standing up, she brushed off her hands and grabbed Zach's shoulder, pulling him back next to her. I won't let them sacrifice you. I can promise you that, but don't go running up to people who you don't know. Especially in a situation like this." She told him, not really scolding but making him know that they were obviously not there to help, more to hurt. And Seledine was not going to get some answers. ((Sorry its a bit short, wanted to get to them talking haha))
