Ah so there it was, that odd emotion that came to her face, or at least one of them. It was a pain that made him frown. He hadn’t seen someone look truly sad before, though this was something new he didn’t find it amazing or curious as he did everything else around him. He felt slightly confused and almost uneasy himself. Was she sad because of a memory belonging to this place or the person she spoke of? When she continued on about him, this great man, her look seemed to change slightly, but still held the same sadness as before. He taught her all of this traveling. So he must have been like her. What a thing it must have been to have someone like you… When her cheerful demeanor returned at least somewhat, he decided to humor her, changing the topic to make her feel better. “Of course. I mean I’m a little worried about the difference…but it must be good if you love it so much.” He said and gave a small smile to her.

Her eyes continued to grow back to their normal chipperness, his comment on being worried about the food, made her chuckle some. "It is kind of a mix between Mediterranean, Indian, and Japanese." She tried to explain, finishing off her cup of water, a waiter filling it up almost right away. "As long as you don't mind a tad bit of spice and seafood you should be fine." She added, with a shrug of the shoulders.
There were very few people in the little building anymore. Only another set of people and the workers. The atmosphere was pleasant however, one of the workers taking a break decided to start playing an instrument softly in the corner, adding to the relaxed mood. It almost felt like they were on a secluded Hawaiian island with the stringed instrument being played. There were some foliage on this planet, though not as many as on earth obviously. They had lovely fruits and vegetables that grew in the shallowest waters of the oceans. Colorful sea creatures and a very sweet form of seaweed that was called 'Talpu'. Looking over at the kitchen, Seledine saw that their food was being plated. It would be here quite soon.

"Let's hope so." Zach said with a bit of a chuckle befor elooking back out to the scenery. Things were nce and calming here. He'd never been to a beach but this had to have been his favorite one, since it was this lovely and exotic. It left him wondering for a moment if his past self would have been this excited to be in some place new, how he wouldn have taken in all of the variety around him.
Sadly though, he didn't know and probably wouldn't for a very long time. Not that the idea bothered him...terribly. He would learn to control the flow of memories from his past and take from it what he could use, and ignore the rest that wasn't so clear. As Emily said, things wouldn't exactly just go back to normal if and when the memory returned. But till then he would create new memories to enjoy. These would be his own, ones that he could hold onto without fear of losing them like before.
He covered up the silence with talking about the place a little more till of course the food came. Zach hadn't seen the dishes before now and was thuroughly surprised to find it was some sort of meat with vegitables and a sauce of odd colors of green and orange. His head tilted to the side ever so slightly as if looking at it from a new angle would make it a little less strange.
"Well, its definately unique." He said at first but the smell that came from it of a fragrant spice made him reconsider, "But it smells wonderful. Thank you." He said to the person who had brought it, then blinked and remembered what Sel had said, "Oh, uh, Yola?" He said, his voice unsure since he wasn't sure if he used it right.

The smell of freshly cooked food was strong as the food was brought to their table. Seledine watched Zach's reaction and bit her lip as he fumbled around with the use of the word 'Yola.' He caught himself rather nicely for his first time, the waiter looking slightly surprised but delighted, his long, pony tailed hair was neon orange and eyes the color of the ocean. Odd tribal tattoos spiraled down on his visible forearms, the webbing in between his fingers rather thick which led Sele to believe he excelled in swimming. "Tono hunmenga ninchna lono coltha, yola. Colthi lono Onya, yola." The male said, smiling to reveal slightly serrated teeth.
Smiling some, Seledine thanked him in their natural language and after their waiter left, she turned to Zach and winked. If he wanted to know what the person had said then he would have to ask. She could be rough that way. "Nice catch." She commented, as she looked down at her steaming platter. It was a bowl full of an orange colored broth, chunks of what seemed to be apples floating around with a sweet red seaweed. A decent sized piece of fish sat ornately in the middle, looking tender enough to just flake apart. A red sauce adorned it, lemon type fruits sitting on top. Picking up the utensils, Seledine began to dig in, the sweet yet salty taste of her meal feeling wonderful in her belly, along with a mild spiciness that hit after a few bites.
"What do you think?" She questioned, pausing from her meal to take a sip of cool water. She was thoroughly enjoying her meal and decided that she could offer Zach a taste. "Would you like to try a bit of mine?" She asked, offering him her brightly colored bowl. It looked much different from American cuisine, though the colors actually blended quite nicely. Nothing was very chewy, the apple like fruits giving it a bit of a crunch and the red sauce a slight bite that didn't hit you right away. Over all it was very well constructed and a great looking meal that Sele appreciated in every way.

Zach sighed in relief when the waiter left but still looked quite stunned by the words he had said. “I have no idea what he just said, but I’m guessing it was something good?” He said to Sel before looking to his food. He took in a breath and picked up the fork type thing and took it to the odd fishy meat. He brought the piece to his mouth, giving a small wince, and took a bite from it. The taste exploded in his mouth the sweetness and spicy edge to it. He was shocked to find that he actually liked the taste. He took another bite trying something else from the dish before relishing the taste. One of the vegetables had an odd consistency but in a way it was so different it was better. Definitely creative in its presentation as well. When Sel offered him a taste of her’s he was less hesitant than before. “Why not. You’re also welcome to have as much of-well-whatever this is, as you want.” He said using one of the silverware he hadn’t used to take a bit of the fishy broth. It tasted much different than what he had but still just as pleasantly good. “It’s awesome. This is even better than the food in New York.” He said, surprise still coloring his voice. “I like the character this place has. Makes me not really even miss the city that much..” He said looking back at the brightly colored dishes to finish his lunch.

"He said that he hoped you enjoy your meal and that he hopes you enjoy your stay."Seledine explained with a bit of a laugh in h voice. She wasn't particularly laughing at Zach but rather at the situation of having to translate for him. She wasn't very fond of translating for people but it happened and when it did, she was never wrong. After all, Seledine new every language as if it was her first. Taking a sip of her water, she watched as Zach took a bite of her food. He seemed to enjoy it.
Seledine took a small bite of Zach's food and smiled it was a good choice and something she got sometimes when she visited this planet. His comments about the food and not missing the city made Seledine very happy as was obvious by the bright smile on her face. "That is how it should be. There is so much out there that is waiting to be seen. It's amazing and I think you will enjoy it all." she commented, eating more of her meal afterwords. She was sure that he would still want to travel with her, though she was glad that nothing really exciting seemed to be happening on this planet. However, she may have thought that too soon as they hadn't been here for very long.
Wherever she went something seemed to be going on. Either the timeline was wrong or someone was doing something they really shouldn't be doing. Seledine went sure why but it was her job after all to make sure that certain things worked as they were supposed to. She could see time after all, the whole timescape was vast and changing except for a few key points that were never meant to change and if they did, it was HER responsibility to fix it. Quickly, Sele finished off her food, drinking the broth out of the bowl as if it was a cup. Licking her lips, she sighed and patted her stomach."Oh, that was wonderful! If you are still hungry we can go to the market and get a desert." Sele offered, her eyes bright and body ready for adventure. She also offered because the market was the best place to find out information on what was happening with the planet. This way she could be sure that nothing was wrong.

(Sorry it's short. I'm using my iPod and this touch screen is murder on my typing flow)
Zachary had polished off his own lunch, his good mood also only growing as more time passed. Not only did he get a positive reaction from a local but also from Sel. After all, It felt nice to dedicate time to relaxing and enjoying a good meal. But he was also excited to see more of this place. "A market? That sounds like fun." As if reading his mind or just being as amped up to get going and see more. He went to grab his wallet to pay but then remembered the shells were payment here, to some god right? It was an interesting custom that he was looking forward to figuring out more about, of course at a safe enough distance while he was still in reality transition at the moment. Perhaps if he was lucky opportunity would give him something new to experience here...

"It is fun. Loads of fun." Seledine responded as the waiter came over and cleared their plates away, telling her the amount. Pulling out her shells, she slid don ten of then, adding two smaller ones as a tip. Getting up as nodded towards Zach to follow. It was a rather quick transaction and as soon as they got out of the hut, Sele smiled as she hopped down the first stair.
"I do believe that the market is to the south, about a ten minute boat row."
[/b] She explained, her hand holding her hair out of her face due to the breeze that was blowing. The sun was in the middle of the sky, people laughing to their left as vacationers played. Making her way down the stairs, Seledine gingerly stepped into their boat, wondering what Zach's reaction was going to be. It was the closest thing to an island that this planet had. Many small huts piled together without front walls. Loud calls and the smell of sweets cooking. It was an exciting place for being so small but it was fun, the biggest one on this planet and the closest to where they were.[/blockquote][/blockquote] ((I can imagine, the post before this I did on my Ipad and the touch screen is a killer. Sorry about the shortness myself =p))

Zach got into the boat after her, reassuming his job at rowing. Rowing was easy in the less than choppy waters, therefor giving him little to complain about. Not to mention the weather here was so wonderful, the warm weather with the cool enough breezes to keep you feeling good despite the brightness of the sun. Besides, he just didn’t tire out regularly. As far as he guessed it was a gift of athleticism. (fast forward, lol I’m too impatient for idle boat chats!) It seemed like no time at all before they got there, already a small dock pertruding out of the rocky shore, offering a numerous amount of boats a place to rest till the owners returned from their ventures. Zach stood though a wave caused him to stagger slightly onto the deck. He was surprised by how loud it suddenly got despite being on the outside ring of the market, not even on the main street yet. From the dock he could already see some of the sights of the goings on. People bartering over interesting jewelry, some over pieces of food that a younger generation of the parents were running around with. The place was alive with noise and people of all different shapes sizes and colors. It was a bit overwhelming, not that he wasn’t used to crowds in New York. He just wasn’t used to them speaking in languages that sounded so strange in his ears none of them seemed to for a recognizable phrase or word. He blinked and looked to Sel, a little lost but still smiling. “Ready to continue the loads of fun?” He asked her gesturing to the market places entrance.

Seledine giggle lightly as Zach lost his balance slightly while getting onto the dock. She hopped up rather gracefully, with a smile, and walked over next to the lost looking male. Though he did look ever so excited, something that Seledine loved to see. "Of course!" She responded excitedly and linked arms with Zach.
Walking towards the main street, the noise from the exotic yet somewhat small market assaulted her ears, the mixed scents coming moments after. It wasn't bad though, in fact the noise was a nice mixture, a few different languages being spoke here and there; each individual one she could recognize and understand, her mind working faster than any smart computer known to humans of the modern age.
Letting Zach get accustomed to the different flavor of the land, she waited for him to pull her in the direction that he wanted to go, though there was a particular booth with a frothy drink that she absolutely had to get a taste of before they left. Smiling, she drank in the noise and excitement around her. It was such fun, especially when she looked at Zach to see his reaction. It was one of her favorite parts, how her companions reacted. ((Agreed.))

Zach walked along beside Sel through the market. Though he looked everywhere and was entertained with everything around him, he was still aware of her presence, of the arm around his. She held a different level of importance for him, not only because he was new here. It was like he enjoyed having her around, just because of her. He didn't quite understand it, after all he was the companion here, the person following her into her world, but he had the feeling that getting seperated from her, even just here would worry him. He didn't have the courage to say that or to even admit to himself the validity of that idea. For now he would just believe he was attatched because of him being new here. Not that her personality had drawn him in.. "Oh whats that?" He said looking at a brightly colored bird that perched on a mans shoulder that reached into a pile of fruits. The bird looked to him and reveled hundreds of oddly colored eyes littering its forehead from its brightly colored feathers. He jumped a bit, his brow furrowed in confusion at the creature as they continued along. He was soon fascinated by the nearest shiny thing, everything from the brightly colored beads to the exotically colorful aray of foods available. Even a group of preformers were nearby, playing songs on an odd ukele sounding instrument, while a brightly dressed woman and man preformed tricks and danced. When his eyes were drawn back to Sel he was almost breathless with wonder. "See anything that catches your eye? There's just so much here I don't know what to look at first." He admitted rather embarrassed how much like a kid he felt.

Seledine enjoyed watching Zach experience the new place. There was definitely many things here that would be different and exciting to most new comers. Following the male around, Sele smiled each time something caught his eye, biting her lip to keep from laughing when he encountered the multi-eyed bird. She was drawn to things as well. Odd little bits of jewelry and brightly colored blankets. Strange talk also reached her ears occassionally, but she was so caught up with keeping an eye on Zach that she didn't get to hear much of anything that was being said.
When Zach seemed to slow down a bit, Sele smiled at his question. "Well, we can go sit over there and get something to drink while we decide what to hit first?" She suggestion in a questioning type of tone. She pointed towards a little hut with an out hang of a roof, bar stools underneath. They were serving up what looked to be smoothies and various other types of cool drinks, alcoholic and non. ((Cant think sorry))

(It's totally fine. lol thats how I felt yesterday) Zach looked at the place and then nodded to her. "Sure, it is kind of hot out here." He said, noticing how the lack of space between the people left no room to let the beeze in. They walked over there and when they sat down, everyone chatting with one another including the bar tenders. One of the tenders looked to Sel and Zach and gave a smirk. He elbowed his friend next to him and said something before going back to work. THe other man walked up to the two, cleaning a glass. Zach couldn't quite understand what the guy said but the question in his voice let him guess he was asking them something about a drink. Zach looked the drinks over but wasn't sure what to say since he didnt even understand what they were. He looked to Sel with a confused look but he could see from the corner of his eye that the bar tender was snickering. Instead of looking to Zach he looked to Sel and gave her a wink, saying something in a way that made Zach feel that he was flirting with her. ( i don't know what language you use so I'm just writing the gist of what Zach thinks is going on.)

As Zach and Seledine made their way over to the bar type hut, she gave a mental sigh as it seemed the bartenders wanted to play with them. One of the men asked Zach what he wanted to drink, though of course Zach was unsure and didn't know what to say or really what the drinks were and Seledine didn't want him ordering one of their hard liquors because unless he could hold alcohol with the best, he would be on his ass for the rest of their trip.
As the bartender turned to Seledine, he gave her a wink and proceeded to flirt with her in a very forward manner. Rolling her eyes, she wanted to grab the man by the collar and say a few choice words to him but instead she smiled sweetly and laughed. "Tono quino trir Slomnakas, yolinta" She spoke, ordering both Zach and herself the best drink on the menu...well in her opinion in addition to somewhat insulting the man by referring to him as younger than her when she looked to be the same age as he. It wasn't alcoholic but it was sweet, foamy and tasted of maybe a hint of chocolate raspberries. She didn't bother to see if the man was shocked that she spoke the language fluently or if he was surprised that she hadn't even looked at the menu as Sele instantly turned towards Zach.
"I really hate cocky people, don't you?" She commented with a secrete type smile. After all she was quite cocky herself in some ways. Within minutes their drinks were on the table in what looked like ornately made pint classes, the rims coated in a red sauce and the drink itself looking like a cool vanilla milkshake. However, it didn't taste remotely like one. Picking it up, she said cheers in the native language 'Yolanga'. Taking a drink, she was left with a bit of a frothy mustache and was waiting for the bartender to try another shot at her. ((That works great, I can have fun with this hehe and I make up my own language. This is the drink though in pint type glasses))

(Omg I want one of those!) The bartender looked shocked that whatever he had said to Sel didn’t work, or the fact that she referred to him as something different than ‘Yola’. Zach saw the change in his face and didn’t attempt to stifle his smirk when he looked over and found Sel was also smiling in a rather cocky way herself. The bartender raised an eyebrow at her with a bit of a snicker of something that must have been a dismissal towards Sel’s previous statement and how he’d let it slide because she had a pretty face. Though when he walked off to help the other customers, his friend behind the counter was laughing and chiding him with something that made the bartender look annoyed. “They can be interesting at times.” He said and without much of a thought took some of the drink. It tasted sweet, something that reminded him of chilled yet still creamy chocolate and a hint of raspberry? He’d never had anything quite like that, especially not in a drink and couldn’t help his smile at the taste, or a chuckle when he looked up and found the foam on her lip. “I can see why you wanted to stop here, it’s delicious.” He said tapping the top of his lips to point out to her the foam. “But I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. You know everything thing there is to know about these places.”
