She heard the knock and the words that it was time to get going. She sighed getting her bag but she put it back down, more stalling. For a few seconds she felt tired and cold- simply wanting to go home- back to her family that she missed dearly, but she felt warm arms go about her, soft lips on her hair as he spoke to her softly about still caring. She understood that Elves here were a bit more conservative- she could maybe handle it- hopefully. It was a worth while encouragement that she needed, making her smile softly before picking her bag back up and headed out after Rowan. They were lead threw tunnels and such and out tot eh surface however as the tunnel was suddenly gone she wasn't all surprised- having seen it in a game before- most of this was like a game- however it was a bit more scary having herself there in the game. She waited for them to talk and figure things out over the map, however at the mention of the human village, she looked a little curious, like Monica was. "I'm good for it." She said giving Monica a slight smile, before taking hold of Sophine's arm in a more encouraging manner- giving Rowan his space since he probably wanted to be more alert while they were out and about- since he also didn't want much contact in front of his sister-making her think a moment. 'Was he shy here?' She thought a moment before she thought about it a bit more- he wasn't prude by any standards-yet he was respectful in the presences of others but here in his world he acted a bit stranger- his touches brief and far between, making her wonder a bit...She however cast her eyes over at the large elf there with them, glancing him over- noticing his features were a bit different the Rowans'- whom she really preferred- but he was an a elf as well it seemed. He was pretty but he was also weird-overly tall, and quiet- not to mention their practical babysitter.

The girls all agreed to the plan and so it was set. They all set off. Rowan lead the way with Baelavain wandering from the back to ahead of them, seemingly as he desired. Layfon stayed towards the back end, his eyes watching the scenery with eagerness. It had been so long since he had seen such foliage without the presence of city influences. They kept on a worn path, one that was nearly overtaken but shrubs and grass and roots from trees. It led in a steep incline and then a sharp turn towards the left. There was what looked to be at one point in time a staircase etched into the mountainside but now, for the most part, it was steep. There were no handles, circular metal rods stuck out from time to time giving the idea that rope used to be there to help stabilize oneself. “Careful now.” Rowan called back to them. The men situated themselves so that Baelavain was in the middle, though he seemed rather displeased by the notion of making sure those around him didn’t stumble and tumble to their deaths. It seemed he really was doing this strictly because he was told. It was a good hour before they reached the bottom of the steep hill. They weren’t yet at the ground, however, they could see a sparse forest that stretched out and thinned as it reached some hills. There was no city in the distance and Rowan had a sinking feeling in his belly. He had said two days travel time however, he had neglected to really take into account that they were traveling with humans: Humans who were used to cars, trains, and planes on long travels. They only had their feet. It might take longer than two days. Still, it was best to not demoralize them. Layfon slid the last couple of feet down the steep incline and landed softly, his mood seeming to have improved from before. He wasn’t going to stay negative this entire time. There was so much to enjoy about being back home, though he hoped they found some kind of water source soon. He would love to find somewhere to swim if they had the chance to stop—a superfluous thought but a nice one. He sidled up to Monica as they hiked down another incline, this one much less steep, and looked down at the forest below, getting ever closer. “Missed this.” He said and sighed some. His mind was whirring as he thought of his home world and what could happen as they made this journey. He worried dearly for Monica’s safety but he felt that she was safe with him because he would protect her but—he had to wonder if there would be a time where he couldn’t protect her from himself. It was that thought that had him stop suddenly and pick up a branch lying under a dying tree that was the thickness of a baseball bat. He caught up to the butt-end of the group and flipped the stick up in his hand. It was about the length of his arm and he unsheathed a knife he had strapped to his ankle, hidden in his left boot. It was sharp and he peeled away at the bark of the branch, the sound drawing attention from both Rowan and Baelavain. Baelavain only took enough time to glance at the water nymph, seeming to decide that it wasn’t worth any extra energy to worry about him. Rowan, however, rose his eyebrows in a show of question. Layfon ignored him and so Rowan just continued on, stopping to consult Baelavain and the map for a bit when they came to the trail thinning away into rocky grass and trees. Layfon used this time to finish stripping the bark away from the branch to form a handle. He finished just as the sound of elvish stopped and Baelavain rolled up the map once more. Layfon handed the branch to Monica as they began walking again. “I want you to try and hit me with that while we are walking. Okay?” He said, a playful grin like the one he used to wear crossing his lips. He was forcing it now, but what the hell, this could be fun. He wondered though if the other girls would be interested but he figured when they took a break, they could all discuss it with Rowan included—and he guessed Baelavain if the high elf could unstick whatever rod was up his rear end.

Monica and Sophine kept up with Rowan and the others, sticking close especially when they reached the ledge and chasm below. Sophine wasn't totally okay with traveling down such treacherous stairs, but she felt that there was much worse out there and she could handle this. When they were off the treacherous ledge, Sophine was feeling the ache in her feet from all the walking but decided to suck it up and instead turned to Susanna. "So there are human towns. I'm not sure wether that's a good thing or a bad thing for us." She said, wondering what her best friend thought of the idea of meeting human from a new a world. The idea was weird, but at the same time interesting. She wondered what it would be like in her world if they had always known that magic and myths were actually true. Their world perhaps would be a lot different. Monica watched the road ahead, glad when she had the company of Layfon who came up next to her. His words about the scenery drew her eyes instead to him, taking in his thoughtful expression that seemed ages older than he looked. She found herself wanting to take his mind off the troubles even just for a moment. The poor man deserved a smile, a laugh here and there ,even if the situation was too serious for it. He had such a handsome smile and good nature about him that was uplifting, positive even. It always made her feel a little better about herself and all this being with him, something she hadn't felt in a long time... "It's beautiful. It would make one hell of a photo." She said as she looked back to the mountain range, her eyes narrowing some at the sunlight reflecting off the smooth stone on the peaks. "I'm actually glad to be out of that stuffy underground so that we get to see it." When he suddenly was gone from her side, she blinked and looked back. She frowned in confusion when he picked up a branch and started working on it with a dagger from his shoe, but then shook her head and chalked it up to some kind of nymph thing. She continued with the others, keeping to herself and admiring a few of the sights till they finally came to a stop. She knelt and fixed the laces on her quarter boots she decided to wear since they were good for walking in. She preferred them really to the tennishoes her sister was sporting since she preferred to look at least a little cute in something she was wearing. When Layfon suddenly came up to her with a long shaved down stick, she stared at him a moment, looking unsure. She got to her feet and looked into his face, noticing that the smile there seemed strained...He was forcing smiles with her now? To keep her thoughts from going to her mouth like they usually did, she gave him a smirk in return and took the stick. She balanced it in her grip a moment, eyeing it before she looked back up at him. "Gotta say that's the strangest request a guy has asked. But I'll give it a shot if you promise not to cry if I get you." She said, giving him fair warning sort of that she could hit hard. She wouldn't of course but the idea of even tapping him with a stick seemed a bit abusive. Even if she knew he wasn't fragile or even as cutesy as he could be, his pale skin looked so easily bruised in a way. She sucked up her thoughts on the topic and decided that it was better to just play into it since he must have had a purpose. She waited till they started walking again before trying to sneak in a tap to his side, just testing the waters of exactly what she was getting into.

Susanna was simply walking along just behind Beal and Sophine, but she looked up when she asked her a question. "It should be interesting to say the least. I hope they speak how we do." She said wondering just what kinda of language barrier there was going to be- if any. They made it down the slope further, and slide down the last little part before she looked over to see Monica and Layfon talking over a stick he had stripped the bark from. She glanced over at Rowan and gave him a small soft smile, she hoped he was in a little bit of a better mood then he ahd been in recently. She knew he was worried over a lot of different things but she knew his little words back in the main camp were his way of showing his care for her even in when he was stressed. She understood that he needed his space to think properly and knew she would get to see him every day and be around him and talk to him when she wanted- it was a good way to see how restraining she could be, she herself said she wasn't too clingy.

Layfon smirked at Monica’s words. He couldn’t help but find them cute. “Promise.” He said and continued walking next to her. Rowan had peaked back at them, his curiosity a bit peaked. He, however, had other things to focus on at the moment. He noticed Susanna’s smile and returned it with a brief upturn at the corner of his mouth and a nod of his head. He wondered if she would want to leave him the longer they stayed here. He wasn’t one for displaying his affections publicly and that had only increased now that he was back home. It was unsavory for an elf and a human to be together, not to mention the fact that it could put her in danger. He didn’t even want to think about how Baelavain saw their relationship. They had only been walking for a little while when Monica attempted her first attack, although a rather pathetic one it was. Layfon just chalked it up to her being hesitant to swing a stick in his direction. He didn’t think she had the slightest chance at hitting him really so he figured that maybe a bit of encouragement was necessary. The blue haired nymph stepped to the side, easily avoiding the blow without even looking in Monica’s direction. Baelavain had just found his way to the back and a little huff of air came from him. Layfon was amazed at the small sign of humor but he wasn’t sure he appreciated the elf making fun of his girlfriend. She was new at this after all. “Are you trying to roast a marshmallow? Again.” He said simply, his accent actually thicker than it had ever been. It seemed he was acclimating quickly to his surroundings never mind the excitement that he found in trying to antagonize her into actually swinging the makeshift sword with real feeling. He glanced at her, a mischievous glint in his eyes that just dared her to come at him. The party continued on their way. The incline stopped eventually and they found themselves in a thin forest, bordering the mountains to their right. They followed the mountain ridge for another hour, Layfon telling Monica to stop after a while of her trying to hit him so she wouldn’t wear herself out. Another hour passed and Rowan noted that everyone seemed a bit worn down from the travel and the happenings from the past day or so. There came, in the distance, the sound of a constant thunder. It echoed along the rocky crevices and ridges of the mountains. “We are coming upon what the humans refer to as Cavern Mouth Falls.” Baelavain spoke as he found himself next to Rowan. The fire elf nodded his head and decided that they could make it that far and then, a break could be afforded. For a short time at least. They continued on, Layfon attempting to explain the basics of how to properly hold a sword to Monica. He placed her hands as they walked in the proper manner and explained the foot placements as well as he could since he didn’t want to stop and slow up the party. Within half an hour the thundering grew louder and a clearing formed, giving way to a massive waterfall that fell from a hole in the mountain side. Water gushed from it with white, foaming peaks and crashed into a large pond that rippled very little on its shores. The pond jutted off into a river to their left and disappeared off into the trees which had begun to thicken. It was beautiful, rainbows sprouting where the waterfall crashed into the pond as streams of light fell from above. Layfon was less concerned with that, his expression one of actual happiness. There was a pure source of water and the sound called to him, though he forced himself to resist for now. Rowan stopped the party with one hand raised. He had noticed that the days light was beginning to fade. They were sure to have another hour or so of light, but this was a great spot to set up camp, or so he assumed. He briefly asked Baelavain a question in elvish and received and even briefer answer. Just as soon as Baelavain answered, he walked away from the part and set his bag down next to a tree, sitting down himself and leaning up against the rough bark with his golden eyes closed. “I think we will stop here for the day. I noticed everyone seems tired and I don’t mean to sound harsh but your endurance will need to improve if we are to make this journey easier. “ He nodded as though mentally saying something to himself. He was pepping himself, not enjoying the idea that he was basically acting as a leader of sorts. He had been in charge of troops before but…this felt different and odd. Layfon stretched upwards and threw his backpack away from him. He turned to Monica and wagged his finger to keep her from running off to rest. “You three, come here.” He said, meaning the girls. Rowan gave him a look and Layfon frowned. “They need to learn something and I don’t see you stepping in to show them how to use their fists.” Layfon commented and Rowan sighed. “They never asked.” Rowan retorted and turned around a sure signal that Layfon could do what he liked and that his words had an impact on Rowan’s thought process. “Now then, take off your bags. Susanna and Sophine, sit there.” Layfon pointed at a grassy spot as he moved towards the shoreline. He waved for Monica to come near him and positioned her a few feet away from him. “Try and hit me. You two watch her and see if you can’t pick something up. You can try after I say Monica is done.” He instructed, his tone strict but his eyes blazing with a renewed energy. He sounded as though he wasn’t giving them a choice and though it seemed cruel to make them work harder after their bodies had been through so much. It was simply his concern showing through. He didn’t want them to be helpless in a world that was so cruel.

Monica knew Layfon would dodge it but she didn't realize just how quick he was. It made her brow furrow in slight annoyance when he mocked her, lighting a small fire in her to try harder. She swung at him again a bit harder, only to find that he practically evaded it like she was a two year old trying to bat a wiffle ball. It sparked her annoyance that even the blonde elf made a noise at her trying and she again tried to to get him, only with the same result. When Layfon stopped to help her out, she realized what this was all about, especially since his was teaching her a proper stance. So he was trying to teach her at least a little about fighting? Monica smiled a bit at the idea that she was getting a lesson in something cool like she wanted, however it also made her wonder what brought this on out of Lyafon... Sophine watched her sister's efforts to at least nick Layfon with the stick and had to suppress a giggle when the attempts failed. It was like a cat and mouse game, like Tom and Jerry. She looked to Susanna and nodded at her answer, her brows furrowing. "If it is too different, I guess we need to learn how to become a bit different..." She said quietly before going back to watching the funny scene. When they finally came to a stop at this waterfall, everyone was tried which showed in the sisters that looked ready to have a seat and call it a day. Sophine did however let herself admire the beautiful water fall and for a moment she wondered if there were places like this hidden away everywhere in this world. It was enchanting to say the least, even if she barely got to enjoy it. No sooner had Rowan said they were stopping and that they could rest, Monica was about to have a seat, taking the stamina comment in stride. She knew she wasn't in the best shape but hell, could Rowan really blame them? Their world had cars and planes. Now all they had was their feet... She wasn't expecting however to be summoned by Layfon to start sparring in hand to hand. His playful motion made her lips tighten in effort not to give him the 'baby I'm tired!' look, mostly since sh hardly wanted to look weak in front of him or after Rowan's comment. Sophine didn't seem to have much of a problem having a seat on the grass to watch while Monica sparred with Layfon. She just hoped no one got injured in this practice, especially since everyone should have been worn out. Monica took a stance and balled her fist like her father had taught her for self defense. A good punch was one thing a military father always passed down to their child in case they got into bad situations. She wanted to learn from Layfon too, since this could mean life or death in some situations. "Yes, sir." Monica joked lightly since he was in his more authoritative zone that was rather sexy, especially since she couldn't help but imagine that he was quite the fighter. She had only seen him use his magic before and so this would be interesting to see what else he had up his sleeve. She placed a hit at his face, hoping he would block it since she wasn't playing around. She was tired but she wasn't about to be considered a pansy here when she agreed to follow them here to this world. She needed to be strong enough to fight for herself and she was glad the men were willing to help them with that.

She noticed the small upturn at the corner of his mouth-the nod as well, it was reassuring. They got much father to a pretty water area- loud but beautiful- rainbows about since the water falls were rushing. Her eyes there she hardly noticed Layfon but Sophine got her attention and she went and stood there by her to watch the little sparing match. Susanna had her lips pursed in thought as she waited- having been in a few fights before knew that there was no way she could take Layfon on- he was much too quick for her- way faster then a human. She sighed out loud before having a seat- she was tired but too wired up on stress to really be tired honestly. "Quick question Layfon- are the humans' here as fast as you and Rowan? Because you do know there is no way we can react that quickly to you both who are obviously much more skilled then we are- not to mention much faster..." She said making a general observation. It wasn't meant to discourage the other two but that was how she had saw this- almost useless, unless he matched them up with some one more closer tot heir skills it would be discouraging to her really, she really didn't feel like sparing with Layfon for that reason- she knew she couldn't beat him so her senses were telling her she didn't need to.

Layfon was pleased when the girls did as he told but was rather surprised to find Monica taking a fighting stance right away. He cocked a brow at her calling him sir but didn’t think much on it. As the other two sat down, Susanna posed a question that he figured was a rather good one. He guess he never really thought much on explaining things to them. It was all common knowledge in his mind, but he supposed that was a mistake when including the three human girls that were now his companions. They were new to this world and what was common knowledge for everyone else was not common knowledge to them. He turned his head from Monica and nodded at Susanna. Her concern was rather relevant after all. “Humans here are just like humans in your world. They—“ He paused briefly as Monica threw a punch at him and he quickly deflected it, spinning her around and pinning her arm behind her back in a rather uncomfortable manner. He continued to speak as he did this. “are not as fast as those of magical birth, nor as strong.” He pushed Monica away from him and turned his head to face her. “Good. Again, try to make your movements less obvious.” He commanded, this time facing her fully so as to be polite. “There have been instances where humans have overcome the limitations of their birth. This is a magical world and magic has an effect on everything here. Some humans possess great magical abilities that enhance their strength, speed, and intelligence. Others, through training, have honed their bodies into one that can rival even an elf’s strength.” He explained, though he caught Baelavain looking at him with eyes that made him feel a tinge of guilt. It was very rare indeed for that to happen, especially when magic was not involved. However, he didn’t want to discourage the girls. He needed them to believe they had a chance because if they felt that it was worthless than they would not improve at all. He had Monica come at him several more times before Rowan came forward, catching the girl when Layfon swept her legs out from under her. “I think you are going about this in the wrong way.” Rowan said and Layfon ran his fingers through his hair, a frown gracing his lips. “This is how I was taught.” Layfon replied and Rowan smiled almost sheepishly, gently steering Monica so that she was standing next to her two seated female companions. “Your father had a different way of teaching, didn’t he?” Rowan said, stepping up and facing Layfon, taking the spot Monica had been in just a moment or two ago. Baelavain’s interest seemed to have been peaked by this and he kept his eyes open and on the two males. “My father didn’t teach me. He had—more important things to attend to.” Layfon was frowning as he said this and Rowan cracked his neck from side to side, knowing he had hit a bit of a sore spot with the nymph. “Well. Why don’t we give them a little show of what you want to teach them?” Rowan spread his legs some, taking a stance that was different from the one Layfon had been using. Layfon’s brow had risen as he looked at Rowan with curiosity. It seems he had put the itch of wanting to spar inside of the fire elf’s mind. “Very well.” Not even a second after the words were out of Layfon’s mouth, Rowan had made his move. It was as though they were a scene out of a choreographed fight in a movie. They were faster though. The sound of dull thuds could be heard as they aimed hits which were avoided. At one point, Rowan aimed a kick at Layfon’s side to which the nymph grabbed hold of his leg and attempted to topple the elf to the ground. Rowan was too quick tough and instead of landing on his back in the dirt, he flipped around, Layfon narrowly managing to miss Rowan’s other foot grazing his chin. This went on for a few minutes, Layfon nearly getting Rowan with his speed when rather suddenly, Rowan snuck in and struck Layfon shoulder to chest, sending the nymph back first into the water. The splash was loud and out came Layfon sputtering some with a slight expression of irritation which quickly melted away into resignation. “You win.” The nymph said, standing up from the water. His clothes were dripping as he stepped onto the solid ground and reached out his hand, shaking it with Rowan. Rowan stretched upwards some and turned to face the girls. “Rest tonight. I think it would be best if you waited until tomorrow to learn anything.” His voice was actually rather gentle. He wasn’t trying to coddle them, but he didn’t want them to be reckless. His main reasoning for sparing was to try to make them realize the power they would be up against. He didn’t want to give them false hope as Layfon had. He wanted to give them something to strive towards though. Plus, it had felt nice to let off some steam. Layfon looked down at his clothes and sighed some. He could feel an ache where Rowan had last gotten him. He kicked off his boots with some effort and then his socks. His shirt was then stripped off, rather quickly went he pants after. He was about to pull off his boxers when he glanced at the girls and thought better of it. Just because he was back in his home world didn’t mean he could completely act as he might have once done. Instead he stretched upwards, the hint of his tattoo barely peaking above the elastic band at the front of his boxers. His skin was very pale, the hints of a bruise easily seen on his chest where Rowan had struck him. The blue markings that traveled down his back, sides, arms, and legs seemed to brighten as he stepped his feet in the cool water. He was about to dive in when Rowan’s voice stopped him. “Shouldn’t we make a fire?” The fire elf questioned and Layfon looked back at him, wanting to retort something rather rude but instead just narrowing his eyes and huffing. He wanted to swim. “Why don’t you ask your cousin for help?” Layfon questioned as he walked past Rowan, his words a bit rude. They earned him a glare from both Rowan and Baelavain. The high elf stood for the first time since they had arrived at the waterfall and walked towards the thicker portion of the forest. Layfon went in an opposite direction and they gathered kindling as Rowan dug through the bags for blankets. “If you want to help, you could get together some food.” Rowan said over his shoulder to the girls. He wasn’t really telling them what to do, more suggesting something if they wanted to help. Soon enough the nymph and high elf were back with twigs and thick branches. Baelavain had even managed to find a small log. They left the rest for Rowan to set up because well, he was a fire elf. Layfon came up behind Monica and hugged her, setting his chin on her shoulder. “I’m going to take a swim. Alright?” He said to her. He slid away from her after, that being the closest thing to affection he had showed her in some time. He took a running start and jumped a few feet into the pond, his splash much less than one might have expected. Rowan wanted to roll his eyes at how childish the water nymph had looked but instead he concentrated on building the fire. Baelavain tossed Sophine a hunk of cheese from his pack so that she could add it to whatever they were concocting for dinner and once more went back to his tree throne, separated from the others. Rowan built up the fire as he desired and then held his right hand up against the almost pyramid of sticks, palm facing away from him. He began to mutter, words, to quiet to really understand. There was an ember glow that emitted from his palm and with the pop of wood being heated; a small blaze was started at the heart of the fire.

Monica decided if Layfon was going to turn from her, he was asking for it. She made an attempt to hit him but it failed miserably in a flash of movement that caught her off guard instead. She barely had time to catch herself before Layfon had her arm at an uncomfortable angle behind her, making her eyes widened and her give an annoyed noise. She looked at Layfon as he explained the chances of humans possible matching the superhuman enhanced abilities of the magic folk. In fact, Layfon even told them that the magic of their world could cause affects on humans. Like enhanced ability or actual magic powers. The idea made Sophine raise a brow, mostly in disbelief and suspiscion. Why did she get the feeling that Layfon was trying hard to make a miserable situation sound hopeful? Sure, they could throw a punch…but it did nothing for them if the being they were up against could use mind tricks or even shoot fire out of their palms. She wouldn’t discourage learning to defend herself however, she just understood that there would be limits to exactly what they could accomplish. Susana was right, there was only so much they could do when their opponents were leagues above them in ability. Sophine winced when Monica tried and tried again to land a hit but eventually only ended up getting bested by her boyfriend taking her feet out from under her. Thankfully Rowan caught her before she landed on her ass in the dirt, but at the same time, she could tell by Monica’s face that she was getting frustrated that she wasn’t doing any better. She knew Monica was competitive and hated to lose. She would get better, but getting there was going to be a battle in itself getting there. Monica eased back when Rowan took over in wanting to spar, pointing out that the girls didn’t seem to be learning anything. Monica felt that wasn’t inherently true, but at the same time she felt she had gotten nowhere just swinging at Layfon. He did teach her quite a bit about how to hold a sword properly though. Monica eased back by her sister with a small huff, wanting to get a look at this fight between the two. Before she could even sit down, Rowan went at Layfon and the two were lost in a flurry of movements. Her eyes widened at just how fast they were reacting, like she was watching a kongfu movie or some kind of matrix fight. She wanted to be able to fight like that, to be able to help them out in a fight and be able to take care of herself. But after watching how quickly Rowan was able to take Layfon down and knock him into the lake, she had a realization that that just might not be possible. When Layfon went into the lake, Monica clapped a hand over her mouth to keep from laughing when Layfon came out drenched and coughing water. Sophine stared wide eyed at the whole scenario, knowing damn well that she would have ended up in that lake long before Layfon. She looked to Susanna as if to ask if she thought they had a chance at any of this. She dropped the idea when Monica stood with her, mostly because she got an eye full of Layfon taking off clothing. She blinked at the markings on him, the pale skin and even that odd tattoo. She had to give Monica credit in the sense that she understood how it was easy to fall into the looks despite the danger that he could present. Most of the men around them were attractive in that sort of way, mostly in a foreign hardly seen way. She did remember Susanna explaining her fascination with elves once and she guessed she kind of got it after the whole craziness with Briony and her sister going after someone that could potentially hurt her… Monica caught Sophine looking at Layfon and she elbowed her hard in the side, making Sophine jump with a glare towards Monica. “Yeah I know. But keep your eyes to yourself.” She whispered with a smirk that was a bit devious, hinting that she knew her sister wasn’t after Layfon but did find him attractive. It was hard not to. Sophine turned pink and shook her head, not wanting to comment and end up stumbling over her words. Besides, they were being asked to cook to help out. She mostly let Susanna take over on the front and went about helping her out while Monica looked at what they had. She was never much of a cook but she was willing to give it a shot. Before she could say much, Layfon suddenly came up behind her and gave her a hug. She smiled softly at the hold, especially since she didn’t mind that he was down to boxers and showing some affection. She almost wouldn’t mind a swim herself if it got her out of the chore of cooking, but she had a feeling that Layfon needed the time to himself. He seemed to be a bit off, like something was really troubling him. She wanted to ask, but she was unsure if he would even tell her… “Have fun.” She let him slip away, though she had to say she wasn’t used to taking a relationship this slow. She had to say that she wasn’t too sure just how to go about all this. Layfon was different then a lot of the men she dated, since most were either the type that took charge or were just flings that kept her busy. But also in the fact that he was genuinely a sweet guy and actually a different race completely. She was an outsider to most customs here, so she was guessing the distance he was keeping between them had to do with some cultural thing…Or at least that was what she was going to allow for now. She was coming to realize that though Layfon could present himself as quite cheerful and had an optimism she was thankful for, he wasn’t exactly as open about things when it came to him personally…like his past. Was it just her or was he acting a little off when things about his family got brought up? It wasn’t her place to pry just yet, but eventually she was going to want answers for his aversion to the topic, especially if it was something that bothered him that much… When she dug out the Oreos she pursed her lips and showed them to Susanna and Sophine who was holding a cube of cheese that looked safe to eat. “I vote sticking with Oreos.” She said as she placed aside the dried meat that looked less than appetizing to her. She had to admit she could be picky when she wanted to be and this was the case. Sophine gave her a look that said that was a very bad idea, before she handed Monica a bowl for getting some water. “Don’t bank on sugar snacks to help you out here. You need energy and healthy foods.” She warned and Monica rolled her eyes. “Yeah yeah mother.” She grumbled, knowing Sophine was just trying to help.

Susanna nodded when Rowan made it clear they were in over their heads there and this was dangerous. She didn't comment when told to go cook, instead she nodded knowing it was better to just cooperate. She got the things from the bag and looked at it- even the items from Baelavain. At Monica'[s comment about oreos she frowned, it showing on her features she would let Monica go hungry if she didn't cooperate. "I agree with your sister. Save the oreos till you get the chocolate craving...There is no telling how long we will be here- make those suckers last." She said making a more personal female comment since most craved chocolate during that time of the month. She set out to slicing a bit of the cheese into proper portions and set it all out properly, giving Monica an oreo- that she took the bag otherwise knowing the girl would try and get them other wise. She glanced over at Rowan and wondered exactly what hew as doing. She had glanced over and heard him muttering something in elvish but knew it was magic of some sort when fire was created from his hand.

Rowan tended to the fire some more, listening to the girls talk. He frowned slightly more than usual when he heard mention of Oreos wondering why he had ever let Layfon go shopping for the food. He was worried now what else he might have packed—Gummy Bears? He stood after the fire was warm and walked over to see what the girls were gathering for dinner. Baelavain seemed positively uninterested though he did, after a while, move from his spot by the tree to see what food he would be allowed to have. At least, that was the way that Rowan saw his action of standing by the fire with a bored expression. Layfon stayed in the water for quite some time. It was cool and refreshing and he didn’t once come up for air. There were some creatures living in the water: some small fish, snails, and other fantastical beasts that kept themselves hidden and away from Layfon’s wandering gaze. He lay on his back, floating between the surface and the rocky bottom, his hands brushing the silt and underwater plant life. All he could hear was the roaring sound of the waterfall colliding into the waters below and it blissfully filled his mind and blocked out everything but for his existence. Here he was floating endlessly in his cocoon of water, safe from everything. There were no worries here. The only thing he needed to concern himself with was the gentle caress of the water surrounding him in the tickling sensation from the life swirling around him. Rowan glanced over to the water when the food had been gathered and passed out to everyone, minus the missing Layfon. Baelavain had taken his share back to his tree, away from the warm circle that surrounded the fire. It seemed he would much rather keep to himself instead of be with the others. Rowan thought that he must be lonely but they he remembered the high elf’s reply during the ceremony earlier. He didn’t place much on love which meant to Rowan that he probably placed little on social interaction or friendship too. He took a bite of beef jerky, tugging at it with his teeth, the saltiness not unpleasant. He turned his attention back to the circle, wondering what everyone was thinking about. He wouldn’t ask but any conversation that started up, he wouldn’t be opposed to joining in.

Monica blinked at Susanna's answer. She seemed to mull it over a bit before Susanna came by and she willingly offered her the carton, even if she did get to enjoy one cookie. The woman was right. Monica could kill over some chocolate when she was in bitch mode. She folded her arms and let the others work on food, watching instead the men going about doing other things. She was intrigued by Rowan's fire starting ability and wondered just how that all worked. Did it just poof out of nowhere or was it some kind of magic within kinda thing? Layfon had said the world was magical so she assumed the prior. When Bael came over to look at the fire, she almost said something to him. Maybe the odd elf just needed someone to talk to to loosen up, or at least take the stoney look off his face. She wondered if her ever smiled, or if he always had just a resting snooty face. As she contemplated the weird elf's personality, the dinner was served and Monica was forced to turn her attention to the food they had brought. Admittedly she wasn't thrilled with what she saw, but she could suck it up and eat it if it meant not starving. Sophine felt similarly, but was less inclined to complain about much. She never really complained about anything, not even when she felt she should. Sophine was a bit too nice for all that. The quiet around the fire was filled by the sounds of chewing and tasting. Sophine had to admit for food that was made to last, this wasn't all that bad. Monica however made a face here and there while trying to tough it out. Finally she got sick of the silence and decided to make some conversation. "So...are these towns like old timey and stuff? You know like in those video games you and Susanna play." Monica asked outright, setting aside the jerky that tasted way too salty for her. She instead turned to the cheese which tasted normal enough for what she was used to. "It would be nice to know what we are walking into." Sophine added, to take the edge off her sister's words. "Also do you think we could stop and ask if someone knows how to get that bracelet off?" Sophine asked a bit more quietly, unsure if Baelavain was allowed to know about the trinket that had latched onto her arm. Sophine had been fiddling with it for part of the walk and still the damn thing stayed glued to her by some unknown force. She was still unsure what exactly to do with the thing since it helped open the portal that got them there and she was told it belong to that scary fey queen. She didn't want anything to do with it honestly, but it seemed the bracelet wanted a lot to do with her. Monica glanced at Sophine's wrist that was hidden by the long sleeved jacket of Layfon's she still wore, her eyes then going to the water where Layfon was. He had yet to surface and she wondered a moment just what it was like beneath the water, away from it all. Certainly it must be peaceful, which was why she had a feeling he stayed there rather then coming to join them for dinner. She didn't mind him taking that time for himself, as long as he wouldn't mind her talking to him later to pick his brain to find what was up with him lately. She was just concerned, since things were complex and new for her in this situation. She almost wondered just how Susanna could handle it so well, knowing that though they were there for these men there was little they could offer beyond that. She had no knowledge of major nymph customs beyond legends from her world and none of those put Layfon in a good light. She almost wanted to try and find a book or something in this human town, even if she hated reading and preferred to watch a movie instead.

Susanna glanced up when Monica asked about the town however didn't speak since she honestly didn't know the answer to that question. Her eyes briefly went to Rowan before moving themselves back to where they ahd been looking at the fire since she knew giving Rowan a puppy dog look would get her no where. A hug would have been nice after the upsetting ritual however he made it clear by his words that he wasn't the most for PDA here in his own world- meaning even a hug would have to be far and in between. She turned her aggression to eating her food as she pulled a piece off the jerky she was munching on.

The circle of individuals around the fire was silent as they all ate. Rowan couldn’t say he was surprised that Baelavain chose to eat by himself, but he wondered if the elf would get tired of it. He was sure they had a long journey ahead and although elves were creatures that did enjoy solitude, they were still social creatures by nature. Feeling excluded was something that not many creatures seemed to enjoy, especially not ones that had built civilizations. The silence continued on for a while, the only sound being of the wild life around them and the crackling of wood catching fire. Rowan looked up as Moinca asked her question, the wording making one of his eyebrows rise. Sophine added her little piece and Rowan finished his mouthful of food before answering, purposefully wiping his hands off on his pants before speaking. “I suppose they are, in a way, like that. There are no buildings and streets as you know but rather stone and wood houses. Glass exists, but for humans only the wealthy have access to it. Streets are usually dirt in villages but bigger towns have some cobbled streets.” Rowan frowned some after speaking, trying to figure out how really to describe human towns. It had been some years since he had last stepped foot in one. “I believe this village is mostly composed of wooden houses clustered together with a main road going right through it. They are a small trading hub if I remember correctly so they probably have a decent sized market place with shops and an inn rather than just a tavern that happens to have rooms.” Rowan smirked some and shrugged. It was a very human movement. “Once you see it, you’ll understand.” He added before taking a bite of bread, the answer to the question obviously done. He welcomed other questions though. The sound of water being disturbed drew Rowan’s attention and he watched as Layfon climbed out of the water, his body dripping wet, glistening in the now, nearly lightless sky. Most of the light came from the fire that most of the group was circled around. He walked over to the group after pushing his hair back and smiling in their general direction. He looked calmer and at peace with himself, though the fish flipping in his right hand was a bit distracting from that. He plopped down next to Rowan, not caring that his wet but would probably get dirt on it. Rowan’s eyes flipped to the gasping fish in Layfon’s hand and the water nymph suddenly had a pouty look on his face. “The little niblet bit me!” He exclaimed and held out his left pointer finger. Sure enough there was a red ring around his finger. Layfon’s childish expression quickly turned around and he held the fish up to his eyes. It was grey with pearlescent fins and gills, about the size of both his hands in length. “Luckily for me, I happen to quite like Rainbow Gills.” He said, talking mostly to himself. He snapped its neck without thinking and brought it up to his mouth, making as though he was going to eat it raw. His blue eyes widened though as he looked around at the group, Rowan’s expression one of warning and Layfon smiled sheepishly. “Uh, hand me a stick. Rowan. Please. I need to—cook it first.” He almost stuttered and snatched a small stick Rowan handed him. He skewered the fish and held it over the fire, turning it slowly. He had been so lost in thought, so comfortable and happy to be back home where he didn’t have to rely on another person solely for the means of staying sane and gathering magic that he had almost forgotten himself. He was with humans who didn’t fully understand what he was, even Monica. He didn’t want to scare them with a culture shock such as eating raw fish, though it really was quite delicious….

Monica frowned around a bite of cheese, her eyes batting a few times as she thought over the status of the human towns. So they were like something out of fairytale though at the same time she was also sure that there must be something else going on in these towns to make them unique, individualized. She more or less liked the idea of seeing a market place, since she could probably get to see some of the culture of this place and adjust it to herself. At least then the girls wouldn't feel like a fish out of water. Speaking of fish out of water, she heard the water being stirred and looked in that direction to catch sight of Layfon coming out of the water. He looked attractive drenched, exotic in the way is blue hair looked strange in the fire light along with the way it felted off his skin. She snapped out of her observations when a floundering fish in his hand caught her attention. Her eyes widened some in surprise at the fish and wondered just how Layfon managed to catch it with his bare hands. What was he like the little mermaid that could talk to fish? She nearly choked on another bite of cheese at the thought of Layfon with a shell bra, a fish tail and long wavy blue hair. Sophine gave her sister a concerned look as she coughed and tried to pat her back. She waved her sister off in time to hear Layfon talk about getting bit by the fish. Sophine saw the ring around his finger and looked at the fish with a bit of a forlorn look. She didn't blame the fish for fighting back. Wouldn't most things fight back when they were getting turned into food...? She tried not to think about that answer. Especially since she didn't like that her expression wasn't humored like Monica's. The girls went back to eating but paused when Layfon brought the fish to his mouth like he was about to eat it raw. Monica cocked her head to the side, her expression showing she wasn't sure if he was actually going to put a raw fish in his mouth. Sophine stopped eating but averted her eyes to not watch him eat the fish. However she paused when he asked for a stick awkwardly and began to cook the fish. Monica looked a bit put off that she had made Layfon feel embarrassed, but she wasn't used to seeing someone eat an unprepared fish. She could handle sushi, but that didn't have eyes, bones, organs...She bit her lip and gave a small nod in thought. "When we get to that town can get a look at those markets? Probably some cool stuff to see." She looked over at Layfon and gave a raise of her brow as if asking him if that would be alright. She felt bad about making him feel odd for eating and wanted to make it up to him by taking focus off him.
